So I have never been a great reader. Even when I was little, I remember my grandmother and I sitting on the couch and reading aloud to each other. That has been the only real way information has been able to stick. As an adult, I find myself listening to a lot of podcast and even listening to a lot of Audiobooks, due to my lack of being able to sit down and read a physical book. I think it has more to do with the fact that I cannot sit still. Text to speech has really helped with this by allowing my educational text to be turned into someone reading it to me out loud. I am able to print out my document, download the PDF and upload it to the app, and one of their AI speakers reads it aloud to me while I read as well. This is helped with my concentration because I'm able to read something with my eyes, listen to someone reading it to me, and allows me to knit with my hands and gives my hand something to do (I am horrible about about just sitting there holding a book. I physically cannot do it). Although I know that this is a flaw within myself as my attention span should not be this poor at 28 years old, I am truly grateful that this app has helped me so much. I am able to obtain the material that I need while. Also learning it in a way that's best for me. I recommend this to anyone who has a similar struggle with their concentration. My one downside is that I have had to transfer a lot of my PDFs into a Google form first and made it a little bit easier for the program to read. A lot of of these college documents are not reader friendly and so I've had to get rid of a lot of citations prior to uploading it into the app. Depending on the document, that could take a little bit of time. Honestly, it has been worth it even with the additional 30 minutes of work prior to uploading it. I am still probably never going to go back to traditional reading and from here on out going to use this tool for a long text of information that I am needing to read. Thank you so much again for creating an app to really help people who struggle.
So far, this reading app has been the best alternative to an actual audiobook. Better than Speechify, by lengths. However, there seems to be a weekly reading limit and it cut me cut mid-story! What a terrible cliffhanger. Imagine the feeling of watching your favorite movie only to have it cut off half way through… I hope this limit will be removed in the future. I’ll be jumping on the yearly subscription as soon as this limit has been lifted. Thank you!
Excellent for a guide for social change. While there is a place for introspection, it gives a guide how to put it in practice. If there was any one for social change, Jesus came to give us a change from legalistic society to give just two vows to see Jesus what we need the most.” Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind” Mathew 22:27 And “Thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself” Mathew 22:39. He was not a Christian by spoke of social change and a new way to live . If you know Jesus, then you know God. He was full filing God’s relationship with all people. This speaks to any faith and come together to perhaps continue His purpose bringing communities together and peace among all people. I believe this book can be a road map how to begin individuals and communities together.
The voices are clear, natural, and not robotic. And best of all, you can paste long documents (more than an hour at a time!) and have it read to you. As a historian and writer who does a lot of research, this is indispensable! My only complaint is that there used to be a mode where you could create your own voice/record yourself reading and the app would turn that into a reader voice for you. And I really liked that option. But it seems to have disappeared from the app?
This is a really great app and I DEFINITELY think that it is worth it for the most part but the only downside is that a good chunk of it is locked behind a paywall, granted it is a great app with lots of really cool features, but I feel like the paywall holds it back a lot (not saying that they should get rid of it just slightly cheaper would be great!).

This app is critical to my writing process. After I write I am able to listen back and find errors in the work. I also love that it has the ability to read from pictures of text. I am able to listen to older books that aren’t yet on audio this way! I do think it’s a bit expensive but worth it if you find audio critical to your process.
In all of the AI apps, this one is the most realistic voice reader I have encountered. As a writer, the ability to constantly paste and listen to my drafts in progress is invaluable. I even will change the voices and speed to help me constantly refine my writing. I am completely dependent upon this app, now. I hope they don’t raise the price because they can get any money out of me they want at this point!
I’m a real person and I’m so happy I found this app instead of recording my own voice like I used to have to do to help me study. I can now have somebody else read it and it’s much more interesting that way. I am so grateful that this is available. A lot of people don’t like AI. I think it may go too far on some things, but this is wonderful. Also, you say I am with caution, but thanks again.
I write a lot. This helped me edit my book faster. Wish I thought of it before. I can listen to my book while I cook, clean, shower. In the car. It doesn’t matter. I can choose the voice. I found one bug where it would drag a word out. But that’s not often. It could just be me. I think it’s worth the price. Especially if you are a writer.
This app is a lifesaver. Being able to listen to class lectures like an audio book has me at an advantage I didn’t have before the app. I was able to use my own voice for the reading of the material. Its a little different listening to my own voice but believe its helping to learn the lesson better.
Like many I enjoy hearing my content. Podcast or music are my go to when traveling. But I’ve got book I want to read or other content that is not available on audio. With app I can can the page or link and article and it will read it to me! Definitely recommend buying the app.
I absolutely love this app! I am blind, and was feeling defeated with the inability to read books, newspapers, the Bible and magazines. This app gives me the ability to scan in any document and simply sit back and enjoy what is being read to me. Another piece of freedom. I am getting back! Thank you
I had it read a lengthy poem i just wrote. It read well all the way through the end. It had the correct sense of rhythmic speaking. Though, in some spots it skipped a tiny bit, nothing to get annoyed over. I recommend it.
I tried this app, I have a lot of physical books, I would like to listen this book. This app makes it easy for me. It still reads the content of the link of the website. So far it is good for me, I will buy a life time plan.
It has a great job reading PDF and doc files. I’m glad I found this app. I got a lot of studying to do and I’m thinking this is gonna make my certifications a lot easier.
It helps me so much with reading typing. It helps me to get to books to help me to understand. It’s so helpful to all my worries, especially through. Especially when they’re like 20 pages on the chapters.
A few bugs here or there is all apart of having a product. I for one absolutely love this and it helps me to hear my book content and TTS on my phone without needing to copy and paste.
Good
Facile d’utilisation
Excellent application facilite beaucoup l’apprentissage.
I really like this app when I need to remember a lot for different classes HOWEVER I would love if they added a feature to repeat the audio because it’s so annoying having to replay it evey 5 minutes when I just want to constantly listen to it.
Graet
I love it
Was able to intelligibly articulate some relatively obscure words and sound normal with a human-like pacing and tone.
Hard working man
Text To Speech - Listen AI Negative Reviews and Ratings
The app is great and i decided to support a smaller less known developer and get paid subscription - it is quite good overall. One exception - with latest couple of updates the app narration just keeps stopping every 30-45 seconds or so sometimes - which makes it unusable and annoying to listen to - PLEASE fix this bug. Fyi - on an older iphone but i dont think that should be an excuse - so i really hope you can fix it - otherwise will have to get smth else.. Also, airpods controls do not work on it at all - so if it stops you have to go to the phone, unlock it and try to make it play the note again (and in some cases, it just refuses to play the not all together while displaying the “playing” icon/button…) Also, pls make notes text editable after you make a note so you can delete smth or add more text later (just like the title can be edited, would he great to edit the note too instead of being stuck with it as it is..)
After trying several other text to speech apps this app definitely delivered on reading quality. I can’t highlight this enough but this apps capabilities are pretty spot on and deliver. The problem is there is a reading limit per week apparently that they never disclosed that, nor have any sort of display on your limit or way to look up how close you are to it. I listen to self published works while I work during the day so after around 14-15 hours of listening in 2-3 days I hit this “weekly limit”, which is crazy since I’m paying for a weekly subscription. I wish they would have disclosed this limit before I purchased a subscription along with have a means to check how close you are to that limit.
I am a full time grad student with a commit and purchased this so I can listen to the textbooks as I drive. Takes a few minutes to set it up but it still saves me so much time (plus I learn better audibly). It usually gets the words right though often repeats paragraphs or even pages sometimes. I haven’t noticed it skipping pages but I doubt I’d catch it. That said, multiple times I have hit my “read” limit by only reading 4 chapters (or less). There no way this will let you hear the entire book of any unless you space it out…. I learned the hard way the last few weeks of class (when I needed to review the most). I did pay for the year but the limits are too low for anyone using the for heavy reading.
Really not much else to say, this is simply a scam. I tried everything to use it. I uploaded my book. Didn’t work. “Too many pages” fine, it’s a textbook so I’ll try something else. Individually took photos of every page I wanted for the chapter and then meticulously uploaded each individual page. This also did not work. This time I was greeted with a wonderful never ending loading screen for a total of 30 full minutes until I gave up and decided it was not real. Mind you this was all done after purchasing the 10 dollar a WEEK, YES, WEEK NOT MONTH. Plan. This is frankly just a scam. The only AI being used on this app is the fake reviews they are leaving on their page. I already reported to Apple and would suggest to do the exact same if you have had the same issue. If this is just me, then I’d be happy to remove my review on developer response (given a genuine fix); however the price point and the weekly charge gives me little faith that will happen. If you really need an app like this, go get eleven reader. It’s the same concept, but it works and it is 11 dollars a month compared to this scam app which is 10 dollars a WEEK. Sorry I truly cannot get over that not raising a red flag for me haha. Best of luck.
I’m one of the many users that pays the ten dollars weekly. At first I would only use it for a couple documents here and there to read aloud when i didn’t have time to read, and so I’d let the multiple bugs of the text to speech slide. But now it’s at a point I can barely understand the way the app says most of the words. The app says it offers the text to speech in more than just the English language, and so I use the Spanish Language option, with most of my documents being in that language. That said, the text to speech Very often reads Spanish words aloud with an English pronunciation, making it very hard to understand if i’m not reading along with the voice, which inherently defeats the point of even having the app read the text out loud. With unnecessary bugs like this, it makes me, the customer, disappointed that i pay Ten dollars a week for this poor service. I don’t know how these reviews are taken into consideration, but this bug is something that’s defeating the purpose of the entire app itself, and it makes many other people like me, who speak other languages that aren’t English and yet are “offered” as a speech option, feel that the app lacks any purpose with bugs like this.
I downloaded this app and paid for the yearly “premium” subscription. It’s been helpful for school Although the scanning feature could be modified to work a little smoother. For the first time today I was told I reached my “listening limit” for the week which I have never had an issue with before and I have listened to a lot. This is extremely frustrating considering was never made aware of a “listening Limit” when they gladly took my money for a year’s subscription. Either someone has premium yearly access or they don’t. Don’t make people pay and then limit how much they can use the app. I’ve literally never had an app make me pay for a yearly premium subscription and then limit my use of the app. That seems like a scam.
The support for this app has yet to reach out to me concerning the issue of not being able to load more content in the app. It has placed a weekly limit on the number of uploads which was not there before. I only uploaded 2 things in 1 week and got weekly upload limit reached. Also there is no option to manage the content as far as editing or rearrangement. I can’t even send the file to another device. I’m paying weekly for the app so there shouldn’t be any limitations. I do like the way the app reads the content, it makes it nice and fluent with human tone, it doesn’t just read it all together like a robot it actually breaks it down no matter if punctuation is wrong.
I downloaded this app today and it started out fantastic. However, after only an hour or so of listening, it started making very long pauses between sentences. Also, the story I am reading has a character named Mrs. Jones. Because there is a period after the word Mrs., it thinks it’s the end of a sentence and makes another very long pause. It needs a little tweaking, and if those changes are made, I will come back and try it again! I hope the developer responds to this review.
When this app works, it’s great. After having the app for a couple of weeks however, it stopped working on my computer and only works on my phone. As you can imagine, this is a great inconvenience trying to get documents to go back and forth all of the time. When I reached out to support about it, they said they would get back to me, then didn’t. I will say that is has worked pretty well on my phone though and has gotten me through one of my classes that’s super heavy on reading this semester.
The voices sound real and most inflections are normal. If I had to stop a read and then resume, all kinds of irritations would reveal themselves. It would usually freeze and I’d have to restart my device, not just the app. It would pause between characters for no reason. Also, when it uploads a pdf, it adds space between letters in some words and then reads it as two words. “My” became M y. Far from useful in presentations, but okay to get overall timings and check for errors. However, there are many free ways to do that. Not worth the money.
This app is quite decent for casual use. Although it claims to offer 'unlimited' listening, it actually resets periodically, which can be inconvenient. Despite this limitation, if you're looking for an app that allows you to listen to audiobooks, articles, or read aloud content while driving or relaxing at home, this would be my top recommendation. It provides a convenient way to enjoy audio content hands-free and comfortably.
I suggest to people DO NOT PURCHASE. I could be wrong and I hope I am but this App and many others Today and Yesterday took my money but didn't pay me SEVERAL TIMES!!!! Please ASSIST!!!! Please go and find someone else to get addicted to their cell phone -- I am going to get an OBAMAPHONE and throw this one away!!!!!!!!!!!! CIAO
The app is OK. It reads the text pretty good but I’ve submitted pictures of my textbook and it just skipped over some words or skips over some sentences even though the picture is perfectly good. I take the clear clear picture and upload it and it still skips over certain words and sentences, sometimes even over half a page and you have to pay for it too
0 stars if I could I have tried for throughout the day to make this app work, but it doesn’t. I have tried to upload the pictures I have already took in my images and it keeps glitching and doesn’t wanna upload them and then. When I select a whole bunch of pictures and try to upload it, it just does one picture, it’s capable, but it just doesn’t wanna work and I’m very frustrated because I have test and I’m trying to do my textbook and it doesn’t want to do it
This app used to be very helpful in finding issues in writing. It used to be fairly reliable. Unfortunately, it no longer seems to work without a strong WiFi connection, making it useless in the car. You get about four sentences before the app crashes. The download audio feature simply does not work at all. Given that my home computer has a much cheaper alternative, there is little reason to continue using this app. I’ll look for alternatives elsewhere.
Where do I manage the subscription? The app does not show the subscription information, what is charged, when or option to cancel. Just to ‘repurchase’ which makes no sense other than greed and poor business practice. The app does a decent job of reading but cannot decipher the headers or footnotes and therefore reads them without pause causing confusion. It also annoyingly reads out every page number, essentially, all the characters on the page. To avoid this I have to edit pdf’s or endure the confusion.
I wanted to turn to a particular page in a PDF. The link to the chapter was there in the table of contents but didn’t do anything. the only way l could figure this out was to manually slide the audio thing to try to find the right place (nearly impossible). unfortunately (and like all the other similar apps i’ve tried), seems to be designed for people who are just skimming popular content rather than people who actually need accessibility features.
**Review of Listen AI: ★★☆☆☆** Listen AI shows promise but currently falls short in performance. While the platform aims to enhance audio recognition, it often struggles with accurately recognizing words. This leads to frustrating moments where it generates nonsensical strings of letters instead of the intended content. The user experience is hindered by these inconsistencies, indicating that significant improvements are necessary. Hopefully, future updates will address these issues and enhance its functionality.
I got this app a few weeks ago and it was going really well. I was paying it weekly and I was able to upload anything I wanted or paste whatever I wanted it to read to me, but recently it just started telling me that I had reached a weekly limit?!?! While I was paying it weekly for the advertised “unlimited usage”…. Until the figure out what it is they want to do, I highly suggest you not getting it because it starting to be more of a scam than anything else..
I saw all the glowing reviews and thought, ‘This app is going to change my life! Well, it did by giving me trust issues. It skipped huge chunks of my book, randomly added words that sounded like they were from a fever dream, and left me wondering if I was reading a mystery novel or solving a riddle from a deranged AI. I’m pretty sure I now know less about the book than when I started. If you like plot twists that aren’t actually in the book, this app is for you!
Let me listen to 1 minute and 12 seconds for free, then demanded I pay a subscription. Apple advertised this on Google as a FREE app. I’m sorry but some of us can’t afford to pay $7/ week for a niche app with every other subscription we have. Don’t advertise as free if all “free” gets you is two and a half paragraphs read before the most AGITATING voice interrupts you to tell you “you’ve used up all your free time” after ONE MINUTE. Would give this negative stars if I could.
Love the voice, smoothly reads the text though at some points it weirdly groans or speaks unintelligibly. Another problem I have is how much it crashes on me for the price I pay each week. Sometimes it doesn't allow me to use it, app crashing frequently. Would rate higher if this bug gets fixed because I love the app.
So the app would like work in the beginning. And then it would just stop working so I would upload a whole bunch of photos, and then it would just like only use the first couple of sentences from the first page that I uploaded. I tried to restart my phone, and it didn’t work. And then also I tried to delete the app and re-download it, and it also did not work.
The app works, but as a writer, I don’t like how the program paraphrases words based off of potentially offensive content and can’t pronounce contractions or abbreviations, so using this to listen to a book will not reflect what’s a hundred percent on the page. I also do not like that there is no option on the app itself to cancel a subscription.
It works, I was able to upload a file and list to it (2hrs); however, it does have problems. Major one is that for whatever reason if audio stops due to connection (I was riding a train) the app glitches and I need to close the app, re open it and start from where I left off.
It has happened twice that when I click back 10 sec or fast fwd 10 seconds, it goes back to very beginning of the book and there is no search nor easy way to go back to page 70 of book and continue.
This app is good but very annoying, it barely lets you do anything before asking you to update to pro. Every time you tap something in the app it stops you and gives you an add for the pro update. If I’m being honest this app just seems very money hungry and incredibly annoying it also won’t let you go back and retype things once you’ve pressed finished overall would not recommend this app
First of all, it majorly freezes, especially if you pause an article and then try to come back to it later. But also it has charged me twice, on every transaction, plus I didn’t realise the fee was weekly not monthly, so I’ve ended up paying 4x what I ended after only a short time of use. I’ve cancelled and am trying to get my money back
I got the full version and expected high quality results but this app keeps crashing. Everytime I open it, it freezes and closes. I’ve tried everything from reinstalling, clearing cache, and restarting my phone too but nothing works.
I had this app for about 2 to 3 months and every time I scanned a text, it deleted some of the content and the way it would break it out. I didn’t like that it did not have the whole page. And when I scanned a hand written page or notes. It read it as if it was written in a made up language where stop ever a waste of $40.
It was it was going great it was reading to me and then all of a sudden there’s a membership thing where I have to pay and it gives me a seven day free trial so I took the free trial and then after that it just started lacking and glitching and it wouldn’t read the text from the images I posted. Very frustrating and disappointing don’t recommend
Love the app. As someone with disability’s it’s such a great tool and I can only see it getting better. That being said I would rate this 5 stars if not for the false advertisement when you sign up for the premium PAID plan. It is advertised as an unlimited reading experience only to be hit with weekly “listening limit reached” limits.
This app is quite literally the worst app I’ve ever used. It’s incredibly slow and glitchy. You cannot advance or go back easily it freezes constantly and if you upload a ePUB, it does not organize an outline so that way you can skip to specific chapters. If you’re using this to study, choose a different app because it is not worth your time money or effort.
Confuse and not eligible for refund.
NO free mode. It lets you listen to 3 minutes of something then asks you for $10 a week. Unreasonable for students. Terrible and misleading as a free app.
Ils vendent ça comme un d’application qui est gratuite, mais en réalité c’est payant et vraiment chian
Il serait intéressant d’avoir des voix francophone qui lit même les chiffre en français.
Poor selection of voices, and the voice cloning is awful, makes any voice sound American.
I used this to support the reading for my online course and recently it stopped working altogether. There has been a software update and it didn’t fix the issue with reading copied and pasted text or uploading a PDF which previously loaded in seconds. Im very disappointed since I purchased an annual license in September for my studies and I’m stuck without this tool for 9 out of the 12 months. I tried to ask for a partial refund and to flag the issue, but there is no mechanism to communicate with anyone to get it fixed.
Can’t upload the pdf on my iPhone nor from iCloud
Not accurate reading
In reality there is a limit and they will not tell you how much. It is disappointing. They also told me i have reached my limit until december 3. And i come december 3 and it is still not letting me listen
Update causes the app not to work as it did previously
Free mean you commit to weekly payments. But it doesn't even load documents to read.
Il reformule les textes constamment. La version française n’est pas réellement française. Vraiment, une perte de temps et d’argent.
Terrible
So disappointing. It started off okay.
Overall good but slower so it’s writeable while writing on paper
Just downloaded the app and when I wanted to use it they said already used your 2 free uses how is that possible Don’t recommend using this app it’s a scam for you to use upgraded form The won’t even let me give it zero stars
I purchased this to read my pdf docs while I drive but apparently there is a character limit even with the purchased version. It’s useless to me.
