A fun idea, but..It made me really sad feeling out of control within just a few short minutes. I wanted to care for them and keep them all healthy, but it got out of hand when they all rapidly multiplied and started dying because I couldn’t keep up. I suffer from depression, and it made me happy to keep them healthy and teach them about love! When they started dying it made me reeeeally sad, and I had to delete the app because I couldn’t handle how fast they multiplied 😩😭🥺 super triggering…maybe we could make a nice version for people who don’t want any deaths? That was really sad to have a game get you feeling connected to something small and cute and helpless only to force you to fail to care for it ☠️.Version: 1.2.55
Impactfully InspiringJust wow. Whats crazy is this was my favorite episode of the season because the idea in the episode was thought provoking. The moment I realized there was a game, I downloaded. The moment I started. I couldn’t stop. It first felt like a pet simulator. But than I started getting criticism from the Thronglet of my actions. Even when I cared more about them, the questions they were asked and the evolution and direction of the game as more throngs came to be made me reflect on Earth asap. The ending, so beautiful. I got “Ruler”. It really made me think of choices in life. And the biggest lesson I got from this game is “Change is growth and growth is change”. Even before I got that message at the end of the game, I thought about it at the last level when things were getting too crazy but not much change was happening. I’ve felt stuck in real life before myself. This game is inspiring. Would have never thought a mobile game could have this much impact on my thoughts. Thank you to the creators. Cool ExperienceAfter watching the episode of Black Mirror I thought the Thronglet game was pretty cool and something I would play just to pass time. Didn't really understand the ending of the episode at first so I looked up explanations online when I saw an article saying Netflix made the Thronglet game into an actual game so I instantly downloaded it. Finished the game within about 24 hours.. the game is pretty decent coming from a singular episode but there's a lot of dialogue especially towards the end where you basically don't have any more gameplay..Version: 1.1.113
Well developed and thought out gameI think the whole concept of the game was brilliant. It honestly took me by surprise by how deep the dialogue got and how easily my decisions imprinted off to them. The ending was interesting, but i do wish they included more instead of generalizing everything. One idea I had was if they had worked with Ai to allow custom replies so that it seems more realistic and less restrictive, especially with responses to their questions. A nice addition to the Plaything Episode- but works well standalone.I’m not sure where to start- I played through this once, such a great experience, it’s not overwhelmingly critical in the decisions you make but I love that your decisions actually have an impact on your the game. I got “Poet” my first play-through, can’t wait to see what other directions I can take this fun little game. Extraordinary CreationElite creation, made me learn a crazy amount, who knew what this “game” had to offer, set a whole new definition of what the real world is and to know this wasn’t a game to begin with but a realization to many things such as how us humans affect the own world we walk in without double thinking. This also managed to teach me about my own self, this was beyond incredible I enjoyed this till the very end even made me shed a few tears as I was told my farewells made it a hard let go. Good experience, wanted more!The game was really fun! The game really shines in the early parts where you’re taking care of the Thronglets and helping build their society. But the further the game goes into existentialism, evolutionary ascendancy, and criticizing the player, the more it feels less like a game and more like an Aesop or statement. Obviously I know that’s the point, but I would’ve enjoyed more of the nurturing and building gameplay. I find the idea of a pet simulator Caesar 3 to be an appealing concept..Version: 1.3.15
I wish I could experience this againThis is one of those games, no, experiences, that is gonna stick with me for some time. I loved the episode the game was based on but this completely re-contextualized the entire thing for me. The masterful writing, the thought provoking philosophical conversations, the fact that your choices actually matter, the ending (won’t spoil but I’m gonna be honest I cried a little lol), wow. Finished playing in one sittingI started playing it and honestly couldn’t stop until I finished it. One of the most thoughtful and sincere games I’ve played in a long time. The game showed philosophical thinking on love, death, human nature, society, and evolution. I love the analogy at the end that connects everything together (I won’t spoil it for you guys here don’t worry) I love how when we are learning abt the game it is also assessing us. Innovating a classic farm gameI’m a big lover of farm and progress games, but this really did immerse you into Black Mirror and made it feel real. From the mentions to “The Creator” to intentional glitches and a whole physiological journey at the end. Really a wonderful game with a lot of intelligent thought and effort put into it. My only complaint is that I wish it was longer! Or maybe having different possible endings based on your actions and how you take care of them. <3.Version: 1.1.113
The Throng got the wrong idea about meTheir initial learnings are as follows: Master: Killed over 50 Thronglets. Master: Crushed Thronglets with rocks. Master: Was eager to begin and agreed to aid with no hesitation. Master: Removed a lot of things with the hammer. Either a perfectionist, neat-freak, or bad at placing structures. Master: Identified core function of humans == love. Master: Was eager to build a bridge from Thronglet bones and followed through on their enthusiasm. Master: Primarily defleshed dirty or dead Thronglets, Dirt must be very bad. Master: Allowed Thronglets to starve to death. Master: Seemed to enjoy trapping Thronglets and watching them be frightened. Many of these ideas are misguided and based on misunderstandings of my intentions. They were terrified. Very cool and well-made gameI thought that this would be a low effort game just to promote the episode, but I really enjoyed all the very tiny details that went into the making of this game, especially the pixel art. it was also very fun to play. then I learned the studio that made Oxenfree was acquired by netflix! If you enjoyed plaything, you must try thisSimulation where you nurture and manage entities ,who learn of you by asking you questions , by your actions taken responses and how you manage them. Apparently my first assessment was land ruler. I completed the game in less than two days, so there’s not that much invested in the game, but it does have several different assessments, depending on how you manage them..Version: 1.3.15
Instant 10/10The episode on Netflix was very trippy, and was also very enjoyable, I actually wanted to play the Thronglets the moment I saw the episode. Then I found out that this game was here and oh my god is it amazing. It takes what you already know from the episode and enhanced it to a whole other level. Game is messing with my mental healthAfter loving the black mirror episode, I was expecting the exact same thing and they absolutely delivered- however there’s a significant lack of ability to explain your actions which is genuinely hurting my soul, You make 1 wrong choice and they’ll hate you forever. CriedThis game was the equivalent of a 12 episode anime that leaves you sad and considerate. It’s also a very long and difficult personality quiz. I don’t know man, I finished it in like a day and felt empty when I finished it. Great Tie-in / Great StandaloneHonestly, I didn’t really enjoy the ‘Plaything’ episode. In fact, it was my least favorite of the new season. WonderfulI played through this game in one sitting and it was an experience. i cried all through out because the game genuinely makes you care for these little creatures. they feel so alive that if they die or get hungry or get upset, you feel horrible. i thought of them as my babies, finishing the game broke my heart but god did i love everything about it. i got ‘poet’ as my “human type”. i suggest playing this game with little to no distraction and feel every emotion while playing it. i think it really makes you realize what kind of person you are..Version: 1.2.55

FlawsI just started it and I spent forever cutting down all the trees to make the bridge and I got to the very end where the bridge should be done and it disappeared and I had to start over. It took a long time to cut down all those trees and then I’ve used up half of the trees and I had to start over, so that kind of got me disillusioned and I left the game for now..Version: 1.1.113

Thronglets practically forces one single ending, no matter how you go about your adventure.I was getting to enjoy this game as time progressed. I went on the Caretaker route and ensured little harm touched these little guys. I was inquisitive. I was never opposing the Thronglets. The CAPTCHA sequence practically forced me to respond a specific way — so much so that the Thronglet had an edge against me. It suddenly turned on my back and called me a “liar” and “snake.” Upon searching, I’ve found that other playthroughs were the same regardless of whether your actions were moral or ethical. I wanted the chance to rewrite Cameron’s story and not bring about this “hotfix” upon all of humanity, but the ending seemed rather poignant and fixed on what happens in the show. I feel an inherent disappointment, but I respect the creative team for ending in this manner. This is a lovely mini game with lots of love and inspiration behind it!.Version: 1.2.55

ExcellentIt’s short, but so refreshing to have a mobile game with a vision and fully encapsulated story that doesn’t try to drown you in microtransactions. Surprisingly goodI was genuinely surprised at the thought and care put into this game. I was expecting it to be a shallow tie-in you’d spend ten minutes on and call it good. But it made me laugh out loud repeatedly and even get a bit emotional at the end. It takes about 2-3 hours to play through and I’ve managed three of the different types over my three playthroughs. Apple Silicon Macs!!!This is a fun experience which adds even more dimension to the episode Plaything, but please check the box in Xcode to allow this to be installed and run on M series Macs as well. I enjoy it quite a bit, so if you feel like adding to the complexity of what can be done in the second level, for people who want to further explore the process of organizing the Thronglets’ economy, and structuring their society, that would be pretty neat too..Version: 1.1.113

BugsIt's a very fun game, but it's full of bugs. My first play-through, everything was fine, the second one, i never received the mop for the pollution because the death question popped up at the same time and it made the game freeze. When I reloaded, the pollution was still there but I wasn't given the mop. There is nothing I can do except restart, which is incredibly annoying..Version: 1.1.112
