Horrible updateThe new update ruins everything. You’d assume the cheapest flight is the direct one but it’s not. It’s the one with the longer delays and is placed all the way at the bottom. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE - wasn’t even able to flyI wasn’t even able to fly with Volaris on March 30, 2025, at 4:45 PM because they overbooked the flight and canceled two of the three seats I had booked months in advance—one for my brother and one for my sister. When I tried to check in, they allowed me to check in but didn’t let me check in my siblings, instructing me to go to the front desk. When I got there, the agent told me that I, along with my two minor siblings, had been bumped off the flight due to overbooking—this happened three hours before our scheduled departure. To make matters worse, Volaris made no effort to help. They didn’t provide compensation, a hotel stay, food, or any kind of support. I was forced to book a last-minute flight with another airline for the next day since there were no available flights that same night. This cost me over $2,000, plus an extra $100 for food and drinks while I had to stay up all night and all day at the airport. We were stranded there for over 14 hours, and during this time, both of my siblings suffered from dehydration due to the lack of proper rest and resources. As a frequent flyer, V.Pass holder and INVEX CARD 2.0 I expected a minimum level of professionalism and reliability—but what I encountered was frustrating, inefficient, and unacceptable. The app is unreliable and often fails to function properly when I need it most. It crashes frequently, loads slowly, and doesn’t provide accurate or up-to-date flight information. ScammersAvoid this airline at all costs. They change your itinerary whenever they want, but the moment you try to make a change—even after paying extra for a “fully refundable” ticket—they penalize you. I tried to change my flight today, but the new options had outrageous prices and ridiculous layovers. So I decided to request the full refund I specifically paid for. Turns out, because I had previously rescheduled my flight (due to their changes), they now refuse to honor the refund. So my only options are to sit through a 7-hour layover or book with another airline and lose my money entirely. For context, I have permanent nerve damage in both legs, so flying is already painful. Now I’m stuck dealing with an extended layover on top of that. To make matters worse, they changed my itinerary more than once. My original layover was a little over 3 hours, which they shortened to about 2.5 hours. I rescheduled because of that—and then they changed it again. And here’s the kicker: if you miss your connecting flight and your layover is under 3 hours, you’re not entitled to anything. Anyone who has flown through Guadalajara knows how chaotic it is—you have to collect your bags, recheck them, go through immigration, and then security again. Missing a connection there is a very real possibility, and they take zero responsibility. Worst company everIf I could give this company 0 stars I would!! The staff is undertrained, rude & unprofessional. The last time I flew with them they had me sit in a smelly airplane ride for 3 hours, didn’t offer to change me seats or anything after I told the flight attendant is smelled really bad she said the previous person that sat there had a an accident. Boarding passes disappear after boardingI recently returned to the US after flying back into Tijuana and had purchased a CBX ticket. At the CBX, you’re required to scan both your CBX ticket as well as your boarding pass, but my boarding pass was no longer accessible through the app since we had already boarded 2 hours ago. You would expect the digital boarding passes to remain accessible or archived under “past boarding passes” or something similar, but no. I ultimately was able to cross since an attendant overrode the scanning process, but the 30 minutes I lost looking left and right for my digital boarding pass were completely unnecessary. Learn from me and SAVE your boarding pass to your camera roll or wallet as soon as you gain access to it! UselessI think this is hands down the most useless and unnecessarily “simplified”app. Why force people to scan the passport when you could just let them type the details in manually? Oversold my flight and left a bunch of us to take next available flight, which was 24 hours laterThis has been a horrific experience. I bought a ticket months in advance, I was flying to La Paz originally from Houston, when I got to the counter they told me that by law they could sell 25% more tickets than available so they had double sold my ticket and I had no seat anymore. Never flying with Volaris againWe had so many problems with both the app and the airline itself. The app is completely useless, it kept giving error messages and wouldn’t let us check in, even after trying on different phones and the website. Low quality app & airline.I’ve booked with Volaris 3 times and each time I was unable to do the check-in because the passport wouldn’t scan and it doesn’t give me the option to type the information manually. Garbage completely I can’t believe they use as an example that people have traveled with expired passports several times until they realize and don’t let them travel more what kind of employees they have there that those things can happen but above all that the passport that is being used is not expired or broken it has a stain on some sheets but all the information is clearly looked at. In-app purchases without adequate confirmationThe Volaris app does not allow users to review or verify flight dates and times before payment. I selected January 3, but after being charged, the confirmation showed my flight was still on January 2, only at a later time. This was not what I selected or approved. Because there is no final verification screen, I had no opportunity to catch or correct the error before being charged. I was then forced to repeat the process due to the app malfunction, resulting in an additional fee. Poor Software QualityThis “newly and improved” app is much worse than the previous one. One would expect that a billion dollar worth airline company could create a better app. I was not surprised as this tends to happen too commonly with Mexican apps. Try to check in and 90% of time can’tI used Volaris because of economic reasons. 90% of time it doesn’t let me check in and tells me to go to counter. At the counter 1 of 3 things have happened. It only allows you to scan the passport does not allow for manual entry so if you’re trying to book a flight for family member, you won’t be able to unless you have their passport on hand, also you cannot book for a family member without booking something for yourself.
