Heaven sent to our familySince we started using the Theo app 1-2 months ago as a trial my 2 boys (3yo & 6yo) became even more excited with our bedtime routine. When its lights off, they look forward to do family prayer time and after that they say "it's Jesus time" meaning mommy would open the Theo app. They like going through the 3 features for free. They listen to it and when it comes to the night time meditation they would fall asleep to after listening. I love listening to the app as well as their mom since these reminders from God are not just for our kids but also reminders for us as parents too because after all we are all children of God. We can all use a loving reminder at the end of a long day. Love how my boys are listening to this before they sleep to remind them they are loved and wonderful children of God. Great experienceI came across this app and wanted to try it out. We have been trying to get our son on a better sleeping routine and thought this would help him fall asleep. My son is 2.5 years old and he didn’t respond to it like we were hoping. I think it might be better if we waited until he is a little older. I do see the value of the app and would love to use it once he gets older. I did the trial version and forgot to cancel it before the trial ended. I messaged them through the app the next day to explain the situation, and they were very understanding. They refunded my money the next day. I am so grateful they have great customer service. I will definitely restart my subscription again when my son is ready. Question for the developers: do you offer monthly subscriptions or is it just annual subscriptions? It’s good…butWe love Theo but there have been a few hiccups. Sometimes the app won’t update and allow us to do the nightly routine. It shows as complete with Theodore already asleep. We have to fight sometimes with the app to get it to work. We toggle the internet on and off and use just data (which only sometimes works to correct the problem). I will say that customer service has been fantastic! They have definitely tried to troubleshoot this issue with us. We love this app for its message about Jesus and the variety of stories and value/morals based tales. It has created consistent prayer and conversation about the Lord at bedtime. My son is much calmer at bedtime since we have started using the app nightly and we are truly grateful! My son would like me to mention that Theo needs some new jokes. For whole familyTeaches your children how to pray and how to calm their bodies. The best value is the way it explains Bible stories with simplicity, but also a lot of context to help kids connect to the meaning. I use it to help when I teach first grade religious class. We listen to the topics on Saints and different Bible stories at the music is so calming. It helps the kids on their bodies and get ready to learn . We listen to it as a family at meals and anytime we need it. I love the explorer feature so you can find something specific that you’re looking for for any specific moment, but I also love the other daily features and games. Be careful with trialI started a free trial because I’ve backslid and wanted to get back on track with God. I wanted to be childlike in my faith and although I don’t have a child I thought this could be nice for me to use for myself. After a couple days I realized this isn’t the best app for me to use for myself so I cancelled my trial. I somehow still got charged for the whole year but couldn’t even log back in on the app. I wouldn’t have known if I didn’t randomly search through my bank statements and see the charge! I had to go through hoops to get my money back. I never even got an email from them let alone the reminder email they said they’d send. But I eventually did get my money back and they asked me to leave a review. Keeping my end of the bargain. Buyer beware- they don’t give an option to cancel the subscription easilyUpdated review - my account was canceled but it is NOT possible the way they say to do it. Which clearly causes panic in all the users who wish to cancel. I might have continued to see if it was useful but if I have email the company behind the app to cancel a product I don’t want it. I shouldn’t have to go thru that much work and to be honest I want to see that my cancellation was processed properly. I don’t recommend this app unless you don’t care if you want to cancel that it will take some work on your end to do so. FantasticMy daughter and I do this every night and it’s helped us both grow in our faith with Jesus. However, I would like to say something about the glitches in the app. It’s been almost a month now and the outfits that my daughter chooses at night when Theo goes to bed changes somehow magically during the day I guess he wakes up and change his clothes you know he put some of his favorite outfit, but she does get upset that his clothes change and don’t stay what she had chosen if that makes sense. Also, he sometimes wakes up after he goes to bed and we have to feed him extra snacks and put him to bed again. Lastly, I would love for more jokes to be uploaded. Wonderful AppI use this app to put my kids to sleep. We use it for prayers, story time, and affirmations. It’s really wonderful. They love it and so do I. It teaches them so much and it gets them in the steady flow of knowing that when it’s bedtime, they know we are going on the app to pray and learn more about the Lord. App is great customer service practices what they preach!I used the app and loved it, however both my kids were not really into the messages. I am sure this works well for many families, but mine do better with me reading to them and then discussing the scripture and the messages. The app charged my card because the week trial was up. Tried for one dayI got this for my grandson who loves Bluey. Let me say what I liked about this first. The prayers were nice. The soothing voice of the narrator was also nice. And the pictures were really nice. But there wasn’t any animation…. Just pictures… the same picture throughout the stories. I couldn’t find the show that is comparable to Bluey. Already put offI was charged $1.00 when it said it would be $0.00 - that is misleading even if just a dollar. I answered so many questions and then had to answer them all over again, twice, just to set up the profiles. My children would do this together with me but we can’t share one profile. I was shocked when I heard some of the language!Last night my daughter and I were listening to a story, as we have for the past 2 weeks or so, the language was so sharp and really not suited for children. It was telling my child that it was normal “hate” others or “not be able to stand” a sibling when they are dealing with adversity! It's OKI feel like the stories are too advanced for my four year-old. They use words that he doesn't know the meaning of and then don't explain them, and he's just not interested in it. I really wish I hadn't forgotten about the subscription trial and then not canceled it. I tried it tonight and the story mentioned aromas, which I then had to explain, and it distracted him from the story. He also just didn't want to listen to it. Falsely Advertised and Poorly DoneFirst, this app caught my eye because of an ad that said, “Like Bluey but for Christian families”. It’s just a poorly made kids devotional app. There’s no animation even. Just a still photo with music and voiceover. The story was also completely void of biblical context. Limited and repetitiveI wanted to love this but it is the same affirmations and stories. My child is constantly telling me “I have heard this like 10 times mom!” And even the daily scripture is not exactly in line with what we want. We use it at bedtime and the prayers are more geared towards daytime with reflection to be made at the end of the day. This isn’t exactly possible with a 4 year old. Just really poorly designed and even though I clicked cancel I guess it didn’t actually cancel cause I was billed for a year and I just want to delete it but I’m annoyed and hope it may improve. Not user friendlyI do enjoy this app but it’s not user friendly. Also, there are too many distracting options, to play with Theo. I just wish it was prayers and bedtime biblical stories. Needs improvementI really enjoy using the Spanish version of the prayers with my children. However, the audio goes very fast, and it’s hard for us to follow along.
