Pokémon Friends App Comments & Reviews

Pokémon Friends Positive Reviews

To sum it all up: you probably don’t want to play thisThis is a very cute little puzzle game. You got my goat Sabeleye in there with his own minigame, you got a cute scorbunny minigame, a lot of fun stuff like that! After playing a batch of three mini games, you get some yarn, which you pop in a little machine to make cute plushies! On my first day, I got a scorbunny, charmander, psyduck, and a pikachu. But this game is what we in the biz call malnourished. You get one minigame A DAY. ONE. You can pay 10$ to get infinite minigames plays, which honestly doesn’t sound like that bad of a deal. You can even get more with little puzzle packs! But don’t expect a good free experience from this game. Only good if you aren’t paying if you’re a REALLY hardcore fan, and at that point, just drop the ten bucks. I give this game a “why was this announced at a Pokemon Presents”/6 out of 10..Version: 1.0

Time Limit Feels ConstrainingHi! So I want to start this off by saying I love this game. The puzzles are unique and fun. The plushies are super adorable. The side missions are hilarious (still love the detective dude who wanted a Mimikyu plush so he could study what was underneath the disguise lol). But there’s one thing that’s been becoming more and more restrictive the longer I’ve been playing and it’s the 1 minute time limit you have to solve a group of puzzles. I understand why the time limit is there. It increases the difficulty. However, as you get higher in the challenge levels for some of those puzzles (looking at you - Stamp Box & Squirtle Garden & Release the Pokemon from the Box), the time limit begins to feel unreasonable. It’s becoming increasingly frustrating that I will be able to successfully solve these puzzles at these higher difficulties but because it took me 20 seconds to find that solution I don’t have time for the other rounds. Especially for the ones that require you to solve 5-6 rounds. Could we have an option in settings to disable this time limit? I think it’ll be conducive to promoting a longevity if players don’t feel like they’re being forced to choose between speed and actually learning how to solve the puzzle. I would prefer a “life” system where you can only make a certain amount of mistakes per puzzle before you fail and receive the same penalty that already exists for failing to complete in the time limit..Version: 1.0.3

Cute but kinda greedyIt’s a super cute game. The puzzles are cute and so are the plushies. I’m excited to see more design options for the room. On a minor note the only thing I would change is sometimes it feels a bit janky to place the plushies, especially since it’s in 3D and there’s actual dimension to the room. On a major issue is wow, the passes are a lot. I don’t mind that there’s limited puzzles, it makes it so you go a steady pace and don’t rush through the game immediately. But the adds are absurdly priced for what’s basically a puzzle minigame compilation. If you want the whole game it’s gone set you back at least $35 dollars and that’s with the bundle. Buying packs individually will set you back $40. While I can understand making something like lifting the limit cost money it’s upsetting to see that quite a few Pokemon and minigames are locked behind extra packs. I would understand the need for DLC maybe to make special variants of Pokemon plushies but immediately having pricey dlc locking 130 Pokemon and 40 puzzles is just kinda yucky. While I’m not sure how much yarn there is it seems you can only make 4 Pokemon with each. Which so far is pretty much just starters and popular Pokemon. I understand wanting to make money even off a simple app but pricey DLC to unlock basic Pokemon and minigames is just ugh. I would be fine with it if it was used just for maybe special variants of plushies and cosmetic changes like special room decor, but it’s not and it feels like a really greedy thing to do on launch. Either don’t lock away basic content or make it cheaper. Most people like the app, it’s really cute and fun. It seems like such a shame that this app will probably disappear within a year like many others because of something like this..Version: 1.0

PuzzlemonI’m not the biggest fan of Pokemon but I do own Pokemon titles, And got this in the phone to see if I should download it for my wife on the switch, IDK how the free version works because let’s be honest it would be extremely limited, it’s meant to be purchased, But you do get a lot here with unlimited plays. I do wish there was more to do in the town but according to Pokemon direct they will be doing that with future updates and add a lot more, As long as they do that me and the wife will be happy. 12 levels of skill for each puzzle and playing it once doesn’t automatically mean next level you need it based on time as well and they get tricky! Well worth your time and money if you enjoy puzzle games! But add more content for the fans 🫡🌟.Version: 1.0

Good puzzles, clearly cashgrabbingThe puzzles are good, the fact I can only do three a day isn’t a major problem for me, but the quests have become a problem. I have one quest available to me, and have been locked behind one quest for weeks because the person is requesting two large plushes. The issue is that if you don’t buy the expansions, the ONLY large plush is Psyduck. In order to make specific plushes you need two of the yarn, and I have gotten a single water yarn in three weeks. I need four total in order to make it past this one and only quest I am allowed to do. There is no good reason that this oversight of only one large plush being in the free version has occurred, and has made progression impossible because of this hyper specific quest that recurs with each of the sizes..Version: 1.0.2

Fun But Very Little To DoWhen my bf told me about a pokemon puzzle game, I got excited. I really love pokemon ever since I started playing and streaming it. I really love this game, especially when you can decorate your home with plushies. However, ever since I started playing “Pokemon Friends”, it has been underwhelming. There’s not a lot to do after finishing three puzzles. I do wish there’s an update to do either limited puzzles or at least 10 to 20 puzzles a day. And daily quest options too would be amazing as well. Ngl, seeing the “Shop” option disappointed me as well. I love pokemon, but I’m not spending any money in a game, if it doesn’t have a lot of content happening and more activities to do other than 3 available puzzles..Version: 1.0

Fun for any puzzle fanI started out with just playing for free for a few weeks, and I think that was the right way to go. The puzzles get harder as you go, and they end up quite challenging, even for an adult, by the highest level since the time limit is so strict! I ended up buying the Basic Pack and am happy with the additional puzzles and plushies. With the Basic Pack, you can choose how much you want to play, either unlimited or set the number of plays per day. It set it to 3. The minigames have a solid art style and offer a variety of brain teasers. Some of them are the exact types of puzzles seen in older main-series Pokemon games, such as the Pikachu game using the same rules/skills as Wallace’s/Juan’s gym puzzle in Hoenn. The plush are cute and what I tried the game for, but I’d say it’s the weaker part of the game. It’s fun to see which plush you get, but the actual room customization is bare-bones and difficult to control. Some of the quests ask for very specific plush, too, and with how luck-based plush-making is, it’s difficult to fulfill their requests..Version: 1.0.2

Differences between free and paidEdit: I have now purchased all versions and can provide more insight. This mobile version of the game is basically a free trial—you can play once or twice a day, and kind of get a grip for how it feels, you can see if you like it or not. The Basic Pass/Switch Edition is, well, a basic version of the game with way more plushes, unlimited plays, and different types of yarn to make new Pokemon plush friends with. It’s ten dollars which I think is very worth it for the base game. Overall, I’d recommend this game—it’s very safe, comforting, and family friendly, and the puzzles go from easy to slightly more challenging the better you get—I believe there are 10 mini game ranks, each one harder than the last. However if you were to purchase the Basic Pass or anything else, I’d recommend doing it on the switch personally. Other DLC is a bit pricey to justify buying it and I wish there were more rooms for the price of it. However I’ve had fun with this and find it worth it which is just my 2 cents..Version: 1.0

Awesome gameI think this game is really fun! The puzzles are so relaxing(except when you have 10 or something seconds left), the plushies have wonderful textures and are so cute, and the fact that you can decorate your room. It’s incredible! What I don’t really like is h9w small the room is. I also wish that I could play puzzles from earlier than just the most recent 6. Other than those small things, this game is awesome. If possible, some new types of yarn with some new plushies would be cool too. And maybe, you should add the ability to trade plushies with other people nearby. Thank you so much for making this game!.Version: 1.1.5

Cute and Simple… wait, HOW MUCH for unlimited puzzles?!Full disclaimer: as of writing, it hasn’t even been out for a full day, so this may not reflect the product when this review is publicly visible. This is a small puzzle minigame collection centered around becoming a plushie maker. First off, the use of the word “plush” to refer to “plushies” is irritating, but I can look past it, mostly. It’s cute, the puzzles are kind of easy in my opinion but that’s not necessarily bad (and also this game is more meant for kids), runs well despite a concerningly low frame-rate during the save file setup stuff. There’s just one big problem— the microtransactions. The Pokemon Company has, frankly, gotten way too comfortable with its microtransaction pricing. Pokemon CafeRemix, another title, already suffers heavily from having passes and packs that cost nearly $20, on top of an $8 monthly pass. It’s irritating, but these are optional, and the extra passes don’t even need to be purchased if you participate enough in the events. THIS GAME, however?! You are expected to pay AT LEAST $10 to play more than 6 puzzles per day. All of the extra content— plushies of popular pokemon, extra puzzles, and some other junk, costs you OVER $30. This stuff should be in the base game when you consider how simple the game is!!! To be fair, this game is meant to be played daily, not continuously, so I suppose it’s not the end of the world. But this is not a game I can see the majority of players spending $30 on. THERE ARE FULL INDIE GAMES THAT COST LESS THAN THIS DLC. I’ll continue playing for now, the game isn’t bad, but PLEASE add the pass content to the base game, or at least SIGNIFICANTLY drop the price. If Deltarune is less expensive than the DLC for your painfully simple mobile puzzle game, something has gone horribly wrong..Version: 1.0

Love puzzles, but many limitsI'm a huge pokemon fan who also loves puzzles!! i bought the basic pack and truly love the game, but as you get further along, the puzzles get trickier and i'm constantly running out of time to solve them. if more time could be added to more challenging puzzles OR allow us to gain time from completing a puzzle (because 10 seconds off from making an error is a LOT!!!) would be awesome. i also maxed out my friendship level, but completing the rest of the quests feels impossible with how random obtaining each yarn is. i'd love to be able to unwravel certain plushes i have to gain back the yarn bc i have soooo many extras that i have no use for !!.Version: 1.0.1

Fun but little to doI got the game for little puzzles and I haven’t been upset about it at all really, it’s a free game, but I checked to see all the plushies I could make and there like 14-15 different plushies in total. Which made me wonder why would anyone play this other than for the puzzles but to play the puzzles freely you have to pay $9.99 (and it gives new plushies) but I’m not spending $10 on a puzzle game that has really no content. I want to like it more but unless you drop your card digits the game is nothing but repetition that isn’t even interesting..Version: 1.0.2

Fun!!!I enjoyed everything about this game, from the puzzles to the plushies 🥰 I deducted one star though, because the puzzle limit can be too restricting without the Basic Pass, which I bought as soon as I downloaded it. I do hope they include new features in future updates, like online multiplayer where people can compete for the high score; another online function where people can check out other's rooms for inspiration; a whole rating and categorization system for puzzles like with Big Brain Academy; and finally, please include the Substitute doll!! Pokémon Friends holds a lot of potential!.Version: 1.0.1

Love It!Ngl, it’s an amazing game! It’s super easy to start off, so you can get a feel of it. Later on, it gets SO hard, I can’t hardly complete one! Tho it’s still an amazing game, I think it should add some updates, like more plushies, puzzles, and maybe some gamemodes! Such as endless, [you would stop whenever you fail a puzzle] race mode, [race against 1-7 other players to see who completes the puzzles first, in 3 rounds!] and battle mode! [going through many puzzles, getting points based on placement, against 1-7 other players!] anyways, really good game!.Version: 1.0.1

It’s fun, but a little pay to play.Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the game and the idea, do puzzles for plushies. Good idea. But you don’t really have much to do. All you do is do unscramble yarn, make pokemon, and give people plushes. But all of that is daily stuff, so I rarely use the game. And you implement it to be usable every second for people who pay. I understand a free to buy game needs some money, but don’t lock the amount of time you want to play behind a paywall. It makes the game less fun to me and others who don’t want to pay. I’d accept the other pay walls, just not the daily one..Version: 1.0

Decent, depends what your looking for.So- I love Pokemon. I have great memories with a lot of the games. I loved Pokemon quest, I liked Pokemon cafe, I really enjoy Pokemon TCG pocket, and Pokemon Go is pretty good. I also play the mainline games. So of course I was excited when I heard about this on the Pokemon direct! I mean, come on! The concept is adorable! Making Pokemon plushies with string from puzzles? Heck yeah! however, sadly you have to pay 10$ to get unlimited access to mini games. If not, you get about 3 (I think?) and the cooldown is 3 hours. You have to pay 33$ for everything in the game. That’s outrageous.. over half the price of a mainline game, lol! I think the 10$ is worth it (though I haven’t bought it yet, just got the game recently) if you enjoy these puzzles a lot. However for some people, they might just like a wordle scenario. Depends. Cute game, but I need the prices to go lol ⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars.Version: 1.0.1

Great gameI just started playing today and I can already tell that this game is amazing l mean there’s literally over 1,200 puzzles! This game is going to keep me busy for years seriously it limits you to only 6 puzzles a day but that doesn’t really matter because it’s so fun the puzzles are not to hard l love that you can make plush l would love it if they added online or even multiplayer but anyway the Pokémon company has really outdone themselves l hope you enjoy this game.Version: 1.0

I really love this game but one problemSo yesterday, my dad got me the basic pack so I can make and do puzzles whatever I want but one problem you see once you unlock the town person or whatever he calls you get a person who requests for like a certain plushy and I did them all and a one cannot pop up and I wait for a few days and still known pop up. Can you please fix this error?.Version: 1.0

Its free to play but thats the problem!First don’t worry about the easiness early on. The puzzles get more complicated as you level each one up. Also, if you buy the basic upgrade, you can solve unlimited puzzles in one day and buying more will give you more access to a variety of puzzles. Don’t limit your enjoyment because you are unsure of the quality, because they are worth it!.Version: 1.0.2

Surprisingly fun gameDid I buy the full combo pass? Yes. I just thought it was cute and I’d rather get this than switch 2 lol. I do rly like the game but have a few requests/suggestions to the devs. Would it be possible to add more rare plushies and tiers of yarns? Shiny pokemon, different pose pokemon (sleeping collection for a limited amount of time?) etc. Also I’d say having more tiers to the yarns so that we can get yarns better than ‘pretty nice’ would be great as well..Version: 1.0

I bought Puzzle On! Pack oneYou ONLY get unlimited puzzles if you buy the basic pack for another $10. It seems like for $15, the Puzzle On! packs should also include the unlimited play. I’m confused why this costs so much when it doesn’t include such basic feature. I’m glad I get new plushies and puzzles, but for $15, I assumed the unlimited play would be included. Beware that it’s not, and you’ll have to spend another $10 for that feature..Version: 1.0

I love this game but one thingLike it’s a really really good game but why can’t you just get more puzzles a day when you play it like why did you only add 3 puzzles a day and I got pikachu and scorbunny and quakly and a pyduck and then when I came back and I saw pyduck sleeping 💤 and I wanted to untangle more yarn but pyduck was sleeping and I got upset 😢 so please add an update to this game so it will have more than 3 puzzles so pyduck won’t be sleeping please do it.Version: 1.0.1

Needs moreThis is a great pokemon game and yes I do agree with no more daily only stuff but the creators need money, would you rather have a ad after every untangle or even every game! But that is only one thing we need to discuss,I wish we could have a in game currency what I think, you watch a ad to get 5 or 10 "energy" and each "energy" gives you one untangle yarn (with the games!) Speaking of it the games get hard way to fast so I think the devs should tone it down And I think there should add mini game where you decorate a room or a plush and do it agenst each other or a NPC and use energy to do it or get it as a reward or reward yarn. That concluses my my suggestions please consider my words in to the development of your game. A reviewer the second.Version: 1.0

More timeI always get on here and I untangle like 2 strands of yarn and it says I can't untangle any more until like 13 hours later. And then I have to leave the game so if you could just give us a like limit of 6 hours of untangling time then I would play it more. But it's not like I don't like the game cause I do but I don't really have anything to do on it. So please give us more time to untangle the string.Version: 1.0.2

1,200 puzzles.. or not? They say there’s 1,200 puzzles.. in reality it is the same puzzles over and over but with an increase in challenge. There’s like maybe 10, EXCLUDING DLC. Honestly think this will be a game you pick up, play for a week and put back down..Version: 1.0

I really enjoy this.I struggle to understand all the hate this game is getting. I enjoy silly puzzle games to keep my toxic brain busy, and I enjoy things with a Pokémon twist. I decided to buy the basic paid version. Boy, am I glad I did. I now get to play an unlimited amount of games per day (plus a larger pool of games and plush), which also means their difficulties increase quicker; they’re starting to become a slight challenge. No, it’s not free to play, but it is free to try; and I do prefer a one-time buy than getting sucked into multiple micro transactions..Version: 1.0.1

Almost best game ever..1: please let us choose the games we have played. :2 please let us collect the yarn we want. Extra note: i am a pikachu fan and my real house is fill of pikachu things and i love how u made this game! I would rate this 5 star if u added these things. But aside from that BEST GAME EVER!!.Version: 1.0.4

I wishI wish you could do more levels a day ☹️ but it’s so so soooooo cute, you should try it! Also I get why you don’t let people do more levels you don’t want people to be down on there phones and crash in to people🤣😂 and I respect that! Thank you Nintendo I really love this game :3.Version: 1.0

Fun daily gameI really enjoy it. I think it was worth paying for but it’s easy to download and play the 3 games daily for awhile to determine if it’s something you want to do more of..Version: 1.1.5

Good daily puzzlerVery good daily puzzler. Never gets super challenging but a fun little morning wake up routine. DLC packs are there to buy if you want more of it but as a quick little morning thing it’s great.Version: 1.1.0

It’s OKI don’t mind a game where you play a few puzzles a day. A little more variety and the ability to look at the previous month for a personal flex would be nice. I like to look and see that I’ve played every day. I shouldn’t have to pay for that….Version: 1.0.2

PleaseThe game is enjoyable but it is the same mini-games everyday and it gets repetitive but the main issue I have with this game is the lack of plushes as the goal is to get lots of them but their is only 5 types available for free and each only have like 4 options the only way to currently get more types of plushes and games is by buying the dlc. This game would be higher if there was just more plushies (please add more yarns and just plush options in general it would push me to play the game more often if I could try and get my favourite Pokemon).Version: 1.0

Cute gameI love these types of mobile puzzle games that have been out forever. At first I was disappointed that I could only play 3 per day which I think upsets most folks, but I like coming back every day to do my puzzles and collect my plush. Being able to only play a few puzzles per day keeps me from spending way more time grabbing my phone to play. My biggest gripe so far is that you can’t look back at the previous month to see your progress and stamps unless you have premium. Even if you premium you can only look at the previous 2 months when you should be able to view all your stamps..Version: 1.0

Well done with expensive purchasesOnly played the first couple of puzzles before being locked out for the day unless I buy the basic pack. The game itself is well done. The puzzles are fairly easy for an adult to start. Curious if they get more difficult later. I just think the packs to unlock more content and unlimited plays are a bit expensive for what they are..Version: 1.0

Game is very fun and satisfying, butYes, this game is very fun and satisfying but if you want to play it more than three times a day then you need to pay $13 to get in infinite games. But at least it’s not something like gems..Version: 1.0
