I downloaded this app on a whim and I am really happy I did! I read that it wasn’t really a puzzle game as much as a relaxing way to pass the time when you need to disassociate for a bit. If you are looking for a complicated or difficult game, this might not be your cup of tea but if you just need to chill out for a minute then I highly recommend!
The game is fun and relaxing, and it’s well made. I think the amount of ads is reasonable, and the price to pay to get rid of them is also reasonable. I’m docking a star because the ad I clicked to get here advertised a slightly different game with pictures, and that is not this game, which is dishonest and disappointing. I also don’t appreciate when games force you to pay to play if you run out of lives+resources. Seems a little predatory.
Not a bad game - fun, strategy, like the vibration feedback when you finish a bobbin. No commercials for basically the first 50 levels. They get you after that, but it isn’t bad at all. Plowed through 64 levels in 2 days. Probably keep this one for awhile!
Oct 20, 2025 - Completed Lvl 30 before the first Ad - Ads are NOT after every Lvl - Completed Lvl 45 and the Ads were still NOT the 200+ second rage-inducing, self-destructive idiocy; so far All were ~30 seconds or less - The No-Ads option was a reasonable $6.99, instead of the ridiculous $10-$20 nonsensical ones - Completed Lvl 45 without having to use any of the boosters, and yet it was a reasonable increase in challenge as I progressed. Pretty much one of the best casual-gaming experiences you can expect in today’s world – Recommend!
Love the game especially the ads are only when you choose to watch them. Only reason i gave 4 stars is please make a selection for color blind people. I keep loosing because i click the wrong color but i cant tell some of them apart. Maybe shapes instead of color would work

I appreciate this game because there is a hard stop. They don’t use gimmicks and other things to get you to spend money. I keep this on my phone because it is not going to turn into a doom scroll.
The levels are progressively challenging but possible to beat without spending money. Doesn’t kill my battery like some other games.
Very addicting, however, the rewards for each level are all the same 40 - I feel level they should increase and boosters are so hard to get and I believe the coin value for them is too high!! Let’s make those adjustments PLEASE!!
So far, this game is GREAT! No ads unless you want to double your coins & I haven’t even needed to use any of the helpful tools yet. Just fun
The game is fun but it really needs a skip feature for when you’re done putting out all of the spools. I don’t like wasting my time waiting.
So relaxing and fun love how it is u get to spend some time and just relax 😌
This has no random ads it is fun and easy and a good game to play on a rode trip
It’s super easy and it’s super cool and it’s it’s very easy to play and it’s free free and needs no Internet
Engaging gameplay and no surprise ads so far. Nice!
No timer makes it perfect
No ads as far as I’ve played. Very relaxing game!
Such a fun game but it is hard for me to tell the colors apart because of color deficiency, please add a symbol or letter to the colors please!
Ads not working so I can’t get coins.
Can you possibly add a dark mode feature? The normal version hurts my eyes
This game is a lot of fun.
Love the game, but I’m stuck at level 237. Literally no way to make it. Please fix it!
Color Knitzy Negative Reviews and Ratings
This app starts out being very fun, relaxing, no time pressure, and moderately difficult. If you keep playing, though, the levels get too difficult, and it devolves into a typical cash grab game. You don’t earn coins fast enough to buy power ups or to cash in to continue playing a difficult level. And when you fail a level and use a life to try again, your reward level drops back to 1, even though it takes 5 wins to get the max reward level. That’s not fair and it’s mean of the designers to make it so hard to earn rewards but so easy to lose them. Not cool. So I blow through 5 lives trying to solve 1 difficult level in about 2 minutes and then quit playing for the day because I refuse to spend real money to buy more lives or power ups. Finally, when you get to higher levels, in the 200s, the puzzles start recycling so you’re just replaying them over and over. There are so many improvements that would make this a 5-star game, but it’s not there and probably never will be because the developers just want your cash. **Update: lowered the rating and deleted the game. Developers added a holiday challenge to collect pieces to earn big rewards. Pieces were quickly duplicated and puzzles became so difficult that I couldn’t earn pieces anymore. The developers never intended to let me earn the big rewards without paying. Shame on them. Do better.
The game is nice, clean, smooth, but does have a couple of flaws. One star deduction is for at level 20 I hit the point where to continue onto the next level, you have to watch a short video which are short 20 seconds in length. There is a banner that is constant on the bottom of the screen that is always showing ads, but it in no way inhibits gameplay. The other star deduction comes from the fact that in order to get to the home screen of the game you have to quit the level which cost you one heart each time. There is no way to just exit from the game to hit the game home screen without losing a heart. Other than these two flaws, the game is pretty nice and a great time waster.
I’ve played this game a LOT. I’m over level 1000. It’s a great puzzle for killing time. However, it’s unplayable with forced ads at first, so I paid for ad-free after the first while because I enjoy the game and wanted to support it. But even after you pay for the game, it’s still crippled by greedy money-grubbing mechanics. You have limited lives with forced time limits, so you can only try a hard puzzle 5 times before you have to close the game or pay to unlock more lives. And it constantly pops up offers to buy more bonuses or passes. It would be a fantastic 5-star game worth a few dollars that I’d recommend to everyone if paying money actually unlocked the whole game and stopped begging you for more money all the time.
I really enjoyed playing this for a good while. It obviously gets more difficult the higher the level, and I didn’t mind spending some money to help get through some levels with more lives and such. I figured that was fair to support a game I really like. But eventually it gets more and more difficult to progress, and you only get 5 lives. It got tedious watching ads for additional lives or coins so much—I was spending more time on the ads than the game. Eventually I got to a level where you literally cannot win without either coins or one of the power-ups, because of where a frozen bobbin is. I got fed up and removed the game.
This game is super addicting and was a lot of fun at first, it still is, but with the obvious. Ad’s were once after 3-5 rounds. Once I got to round 30 and above there is an ad after every round. I get it, it’s free right? Maybe do an ad every 5 games or after the hard levels as they take longer. Plus you have ads at the bottom of the screen during gameplay! Unfortunately because of this I gave it 3 stars and I’m deleting it.
The game itself is fun. But the heart generation starts at counting down and giving you full lives. Then it starts giving you just one and the countdown time doesn’t actually line up with thirty minutes. Magically I will open the app and got a fresh life whether I walked away from it for 30 or 45 minutes. All in an attempt to get you to watch ads or drop money. But they wait until you’re pretty far into the game to start this nonsense so you’re hooked.
There are extreme levels where no matter what you do you cannot solve without purchasing items to help. I searched for videos on the walkthroughs and noticed several colors had changed on the walkthrough making it impossible now on the game to solve. 316 is a perfect example. One of the colors should be a tan to solve however it is an orange in the game now making it impossible to solve and resulting in you having to purchase something to pass. Disgusting app and process. Deleting now.
First, and the sole reason for the single star; the app has started crashing after the end of level ad break. For me this started after reaching level 22, and Apple won’t let me report a quality issue because it is a free app. Once this issue has been resolved, with me being forced to purchase the ad free option, I’ll come back and edit this review. Otherwise it has been a fun game, although I do think the description should be changed to say that you are frogging/unraveling knit squares.
It’s a fun little app that gives pretty good bonuses, but I took two stars because after level 30 or so it’s very ad heavy. Worse, they’re nearly all screw game ads over and over. I get it, you want people to buy ad free. In this economy that’s not always possible. I can deal with ads, but for the love of Pete, I’ll stop playing rather than watching the same ad six times in ten levels.
This is a good game to play and has a lot of stages that actually make you think. But since this last update, there are ads after EVERY level! I know there’s the option to pay for no ads, but $6.99 is extremely too much. Please get rid of some of the ads or lower the no ads purchase.
I’ve been having fun with this game for quite a few months now. When I win a match, I purposely choose to watch an ad so I get twice the coins. However, the ads absolutely NOT play! So apparently if you do not want ads, you get them all the time and when you purposely try to play an ad to get more coinage they won’t work! I refused to play this game until they fix it. So glitchy.
The game is fun. Ads aren’t too intrusive… but randomly the app will close and open a scam website even without tapping an ad. You’ll be in the middle of a level, the app will close, a browser will open and say that there’s a virus on your phone (there isn’t, it’s a scam)… but it’s such a shame that this pretty fun app does that.
Really enjoyable relaxing game! Made it through a ton of levels with minimal ads and was very pleased… then they hit. Ads every coupe of rounds some times after a single round. I don’t mind ads for extra lives or to get boosters help but ads after each play or two is ridiculous!
I’m getting rid of ad heavy games this year. While the game itself is an ok waste of time and has some merit, I think the number of ads is too much to enjoy the game. Also, the developers have decided to make an ad that doesn’t represent the game. So, I’m deleting this game.
Cool game. Simple but enjoyable and challenging but achievable levels. Only complaint is that the time until next life doesn’t always go down when you close the app. Not the biggest deal, but like.. with how many ads there are they can at least give the lives back in time
If you can count to three you can tell which color you need next. It’s fun but anyone who can count to three can play and match colors. Level 60 is when there’s an ad after every level and it’s not so fun anymore. 1 minute for one level 1 minute ad 1 minute one level 1 minute 1 ad. My advice is delete it at level 60. It doesn’t get more complex it’s just adds ads.
I paid for the ad-free experience and was really happy with it until the most recent release. The magic spools challenges inundate you with timers, premium currency purchases, streak loss (unless you pay) and other predatory monetization. Basically nulling the value I gained from paying for an ad-free experience.
I landed on a level that can’t be won without rewards, and now there is no way to win with out paying more cash. Deleting off my phone and not playing this game anymore!
The game is rather entertaining, but if you feel as though you have had enough playing, exiting either steals a life from you, or you are not given your reward. In conclusion, this game is an inconvenient scam.
The game is fun to play and it would be 5 stars but the timer to get more lives is messed up. It will stay on “30 minutes” for hours. Very frustrating
…with this type of game it eventually becomes impossible to continue without purchasing power ups. Fun for about 80 levels, though.
It would be more relaxing for knitters if the yarn went from the bobben to the board. As a knitter it actually made me a bit anxious because it felt like I was undoing my work 😆
Idea is nice. But as you progress game starts to spam ads after EVERY level PLUS banner at the bottom. All the casino and poker ads will be yours 🤢
The game gives you a false sense of confidence as the ads only kick in after about 50 levels. After that this is one ad every level played… Really not worse the hassle. 1star and uninstall for me.
Game was going good till I reached a level that was 100% pay to win only. There was zero chance to win with buying power ups. Sorry your game isn’t that unique that I can’t find a better one.
While the game does what you’d expect, this is not what has been shown in the ads. And it gets repetitive
It’s a fun game and everything but I hate having to buy the power ups.
Okay game would be better if not so many ads, there is an option to buy is okay but not worth the price
Stockholm Syndrome has fully set in when you look at the five star reviews and they mention how “cheap” it is to play “compared to other games”. Pass on this and try anything else.
Once you get past a certain point, the ads get absolutely absurd. Every level has an ad, and there are banner ads at the bottom. They do not stop.
Relaxing, but takes no thought
Gameplay comes to a grinding halt after level 50 with ads after every single level. Don’t waste your time.
I have really enjoyed this game but have reached a point (level 950) where the games are very difficult to win without having multiple hints available. When it takes 20+ attempts to complete a game it loses the fun factor. The ads seem to be getting longer and longer requiring multiple exits.
The game is really fun but those ads are soooo long! I don’t mind seeing ads to get a free game, but this is over the top.
Holy ads, every 15 second game required an ad.
The game was enjoyable, but I’m sick of the forced ads between rounds.
Fun enough, but I hate music built into these apps, so always turn it off. This one randomly starts playing it occasionally. I go check to ensure it’s still off, and it is. Then it’ll also randomly stop after a while. Very annoying.
