Favorite merge gameI have tried a ton of cooking merge-style games. This one has become my favorite! I love the clear graphics and cartoon style, it’s not clunky and challenges are satisfying. If I had to give any feedback at all, it would be to incorporate a few things I’ve seen in other games: 1) take the equipment sounds off the continuous loop, so that you don’t have to click another item on the board to stop it, 2) when you have a lot of excess energy, allowing for an optional booster to get higher value pieces for more energy spent, and 3) not showing the finished versions of the restaurants before completing renovations. It makes the remodels more satisfying when you only see the finished product after doing the work. I 100% recommend the game, but these few things would make gameplay near perfect. Annoying handI like the game but, I am on level 55 and there is a hand that keeps telling me what to do and its so annoying, I’ve turned of hints and I’m far past the tutorial so idk why it keeps popping up. I’ve played almost every merge game on the App Store and I like this one but energy is definitely a problem I only get like 2 min of gameplay every now and again and the higher the level, the more complicated the orders get. This causes me to take days to finish orders. Also every time I level up I should get 100 energy the prizes in this game are bad and doesn’t help at all and the good prizes are behind a pay wall🫤.This game is like flambé but I actually like this one better. I hope for better updates for this game! Reply to developer- As I stated in my original review I was in level 55 way past level 7 and the hand/glove is still there. EntertainingI am playing this and another game much like it and I find this much more enjoyable. I believe it is because of the layout, which is more pleasing, but I don’t know why. I am an older adult so I will add that there is a slightly frustrating amount of explanation at the beginning. I’d like to have the opportunity to opt-out, having done these games for a long time. Also, would like to see a place to turn “clues” on and off. I do these games to help my brain and *searching* for the match is the biggest part of that. Otherwise, I think the esthetic is cute for young children and okay for older people. There are plenty of different side games to keep me on the app until I can regain energy. I like it. SSDDI did enjoy this game up until you started messing with the algorithms, the energies you were able to play a decent amount of moves, then when I got farther up the levels, it started manipulation where I could only play five pieces and then I had to re-energize, which means you’re waiting for a half hour to an hour to be able to play that food category I even spent $ (a lot) and that didn’t improve the ratio of moves. I’m not paying $5 and make 6 moves only to recharge again. I had 300 moves to get 2 items and I’m down to 67 moves and have only achieved one of the item. That’s ridiculous. It’s supposed to relax me not irritate me. PS: I understand mixing other items in the same category but why would you mix pasta with the numbers? It makes no sense. Really Good GameThis is the most balanced and beautiful merge game I have ever played. Clearly the creators put a lot of thought and effort into crafting the PERFECT game of its type. The gameplay is interesting but not overdone. Unlike so many games, you really don’t have to spend money to play this and enjoy it. I spent money in the game to reward the creators and show appreciation for a job well done. And I also spent money on it specifically because I never had to spend money to enjoy it. Too many games feel like I am just being manipulated and frustrated on purpose so I will buy something. Not this game. I’ve played 26 merge games in total. 11 of those were like this one, with story, restoration, food. I am currently playing 4 merge games of this category. Fun but limitedThis game is fun. It’s probably the only merge game I’ve actually played as long as I have because I usually don’t like most merge games. This one, I do enjoy. The biggest drawback for me is how quickly you go through energy and how ,one it takes to get it back. I can only play for about ten to twenty minutes a day before I have to stop because I’ve ran out of ways to get more energy without having to spend money. It’s one of those games where you need to check in multiple times a day but I don’t do that. I am not into merge games. But I love this game.I have never been into merge games or match three or anything similar, but this game is actually fun and rather rewarding, as well as a wonderful time waster. Costs too much money to get the most satisfying play.I have spent so much money to replenish my gems and energy because it takes so much energy to make enough merges to get one item. Going the free route takes too much time. And items at the store cost too many gems. FunI like having something like an extension of the game Merge Cooking. There is a little bit of confusion in that some items are higher ranked than they are in the other game, and vice versa, but it’s really no big deal. Predatory FeaturesThe game itself is fun but, in order to frustrate the players into purchasing into purchasing coins, the developer added a spawn recharge feature which forces the player to wait over an hour to create new items. When only one item remains, the spawn items will only create 3-5 items before another lengthy cooldown. Instead of motivating me to buy coins, it makes me want to delete the game. Stop with the merge hints!I liked the game from the ad I saw and wanted to settle into it. I’ve played a million like it before and my brain works perfectly well. Yet for at least the first 5 levels befoe I deleted it, I kept getting the finger pointing out hints despite manually opting out of that. Generators need less rechargingNeed to fix the generator times. The game is fun but you get 5-10 items before it has to recharge again, which takes hours! You can’t really play much. Other similar games give you at least 10 times as many items before recharging and do not take nearly as long to recharge. It’s okay, but disappointingFlambé was clearly the original game, and Foodstars appears to copy it almost entirely. The gameplay, merge mechanics, progression, and even the same limited-time events are present with only very minor cosmetic changes. It’s one thing to be inspired by a genre, but this goes beyond that. If you’ve played Flambé, you’ve essentially already played Foodstars. BEST MERGE GAMEI normally do not like merge games. I have not found one yet that wasn’t monotonous until now. Did “Foodstars”: Merge & Cook is the only merge game that is beyond entertaining and does require some skill. It is also one of the best games I have like heat in the wild. I am addicted to it. Impossible unless you pay!It's too bad that this game could be a lot of fun but unfortunately the matches are way too repetitive and keep you circling back over and over to finally reach a match but that isn't even the real negative about this game. I have had only 1 match to go and have attempted to come back after the energy times out within just about a minute and only creating about 5 to 6 items each time so unless you pay your way out you will be stuck for days attempting to get that last match. It becomes a real waste of time and for sure NOT fun anymore when the only way to continue for even just a short duration is pay to play. It just feels like extortion. I have paid but after acouole times seeing the way this operates I refuse to pay just to make a few more moves. With that said I would recommend finding another match game. This one is just too greedy and you can find many other options that are not as extreme as this one! Update: response from developer was positive and sincere. They are looking to improve the game so that other options are available than having to purchase your way through. I look forward to giving more stars when they do. The game is fun and although it’s a pain not getting very far very fast without making purchases I am still playing it because I really like the game. It’s pointlessPlaying this game was good to start . The issue comes in in to when you have to upgrade to get the ingredients on different levels it should be a way to make more energy faster . Why do I have to wait 30 min to an hour for my energy to charge up just to only be able to get half of the things I need to get one or the two things I have to make to get the ingredient I need to make the dish . I don’t want to have to spend money to play games all the time . It don’t make sense. Need to fix the food generatorsThis game is the same creators as Merge Cooking, and both games have the same problem. When you get close to finishing an order, the food generators run out of energy and take a really long time to recharge. When they finally do, you only get a few items (10 max) before they need recharged again. I’m sure they do this, to try to get you to purchase diamonds, but it’s a big rip off, because even when you speed it up with diamonds, you still only get a few items before it need recharged. They Do Not Give All Purchased RewardsI’m very unhappy with how I did not receive all my rewards for a purchase and how customer service is trying to manipulate the situation and say I did because of purchasing a previous vip rewards now 1-18 isn’t available to me since I received them when I purchased the regular vip. Hints and cutscenes ruined this gameI would enjoy this MUCH MORE if the game stopped shoving endless hints on what to do next down my throat. Either stop the “tutorial” much earlier, or let me turn it off. Incredibly annoying. The endless cutscenes as you level up or repair the restaurant are also annoying. This game is fraudulent.The ad I watched specifically said UNLIMITED ENERGY. That is not the case. So that’s fraud. Your ads are fraud. Fraud is illegal. Fraud is also against Google and Apple’s ToS. Any time I see an ad for this game, I will be reporting it as such, and I encourage everyone else to do the same. Also, I don’t need a tutorial on how to merge items.
