A journey thru the wine regionOur tour guide , Michael , is a wine expert . With that said he is so humble and without the snobbery we have experienced in Napa California near our home . Michael greeted us with hot coffee and local pastries . He drove us in his spacious van to an old vineyard and home to meet a lovely wine maker . His name is Adriano and he owns Quinta de Montouro winery . The land has been in his family for at least 12 generations . Michael and Adriano set a banquet out for us with many wines and ports . My husband even opened a bottle with fire . It was like being invited to the most rustic , exclusive wine club in someone’s home . We saw the newly harvested grapes and even tasted the freshest draw from the vat and wine skins ( like a jam ) on to the boat ride and lunch at a super cute restaurant where we dined again on wine and yummy Portuguese specialties. Then on to another vineyard called Quinta do Beijo where Bea ( an amazing bright wine employee ( and nice too ) shared their delicious wine . She even let me climb inside an empty wine barrel . Come on . In the US we have wine tasted for 40 years and never have we had tastings like these . Then Michael drove us around so we could see all the beautiful spots in the Douro Valley . We even saw a young man propose to his gal at one of the spots and she said yes ! A day worth remembering forever . We felt so so so lucky to get Michael and you should book with only him ! He is a rare vintage as human being go !

A bit of miscommunication between GYG and Tour OperatorWe arrived 20 minutes early for our tour, however, it took every bit of this to figure out where our tour was. The instructions clearly stated to meet at the Café at the Glacier Lagoon site. No one was there. No signage. No one knew anything about the tour. We did not see anyone else on our tour because we asked. None of the other tour operators knew anything. Very scary and frustrating since we had lost another tour back in Thingvellír due to the same type of confusion. Here we already paid and yet no one to help us. I called the Tour Operator listed on my ticket (took a few minutes to find their contact info) and when they asked for our booking number, they did not recognize the GYG’s number and we were not listed on any tour. This frustration continued for 20 minutes. When we were about to simply give up, a very nice man approached us (because we literally looked lost and panicked) and asked if he could help. He had us on his list and yet the entire tour was already in the truck ready to go. Where were these people the entire time?! It was just so frustrating and unnecessary. My advice is to PLEASE get the communication part right between tour ops and third party booking sites. We were told by the operator that “GYG often does this”. So be careful and just look at your ticket, definitely arrive EARLY and simply walk behind the café and approach the trucks, as someone will eventually know where you’re supposed to be. Last minute cancellationIn my trip to Spain, I did not have any issues with bookings until my short one day trip in Seville, Spain. I had booked an entry ticket to the Alcazar, at 2:13 pm and the only available time was 4:30pm. We walked from our hotel and at 3:29pm I received an email from Get your Guide that the booking had been cancelled with no specific reason, and that I would receive a refund within 7 days. I decided to walk over to the Alcazar but the ticket booth had closed by the time we arrived at approximately 4pm and the entry closing at 5pm. The staff there simply told me I could not purchase entry and that I would need to talk with the third party company that I booked with, and referred to them as “competition”. This sidelined what we really wanted to see in our 1 day trip to Seville. I feel that we should have received the cancellation notice a lot sooner to make other plans before wasting our time, and getting stuck in a situation where we could not book any other attractions during our stay. It made more sense to visit the attraction directly or book directly with their website rather than using Get your Guide. An abysmal ending with this app/resolvedStory: My husband and I booked three events with Get Your Guide. We were planning a graduation trip to Myrtle Beach with our grandson. One of the policies of this app is that you can only cancel an event more than 24 hours in advance unless you are sick, hospitalized or dead. For those three things you need documentation. The first two events went off without a hitch. On the day of the last event, my husband took ill. We went right away to an urgent care where he was diagnosed with Covid. I let Get Your Guide know that he was sick and that I had documentation, but they would not let us cancel the day of the event. They said said it was the responsibility of the venue to return our money. My grandson and I did go to the show where I was told that it is Get Your Guide that has to refund your money. It is now about a week later, and I have tried providing my documentation again trying to get a refund for my husband, but the app keeps apologizing saying they have a policy. What good is a policy if you don’t honor (by providing documentation) it? We were being responsible so no one else would be infected. There are always exceptions to policies!! Still glad we did the right thing. VERY disappointed patron who will not be using this app again!!

App is good, but providers not so muchThis used to be my favorite tool for booking tours and tickets while traveling. Being able to message providers using the app was very convenient. In the recent past, many of the guides were direct users of the app. But now, in some countries, e.g., Japan, GetYourGuide listings are by companies who hire low cost labor to provide services. These people are not necessarily knowledgeable on local culture, history, or nature, and more like shuttles drivers than tour guides. They also don’t have access to the GetYourGuide app and can only message customers using WhatsUp. So if you notice that the description of the activity mentions that you can communicate with your guide using a third party messaging app, consider choosing a different provider.
After many years of having great experiences with GetYourGuide providers, we had two very negative experiences in two different countries within the past year and found out the hard way that GetYourGuide doesn’t really provide full or partial refunds when the provider fails to deliver what is promised in their listing. In the last incident, the provider did not contact us to confirm the pickup, showed up with a different vehicle than what was described in the listing, took us to only two of the five attractions, and threw a tamper tantrum when he tried to force us leave him positive feedback in the middle of our tour..AppSharkVersion: 25.13
Bali swing, whitewater rafting and waterfall excursionsSpeechless. This was one of my favorite days in Bali. They were all amazing, but the people, planning and location make the day a success. When you select Get Your Guide, you are provided with a private, personal experience with a team dedicated to your day. On this particular day, we worked with Sandi from Get Your Guide, Billy from Infinity Adventure rafting and our photographer, Made. This team provided the trifecta of service delivery. I wouldn’t change a thing about the day…other than getting home earlier, but when you are having unforgettable memories it is worth it. The white water rafting is a 90 minute paddle in a calm area which is nice to get the experience, enjoy nature, do some swimming, enjoy some coconuts and swim in waterfalls. Oh, don’t forget about the stairs to the top. Next up was the coffee tour and swing ride. It was interesting to learn about the behind the scenes process of coffee making. Next stop the waterfall and traditional village. Best value ever. Invest in the photographer add on. Definitely make a note for Made. He is amazing. I’m pretty sure he took over 500 photos. They won’t let you leave less than a 5 star reviewI tried to give 2 stars but they don’t even allow it!! 😂 WOW. I recently tried this app/company for the first time on an international trip because they seemed so convenient and they had many more tours and opportunities than I had been easily able to find otherwise. However, after booking 3 items through them, I have spent more time on help chat with them tracking down and fixing their mistakes than the time spent on actual enjoyable activities, which is supposedly what they sell - convenient access to activities. My experiences with this company have included waiting in 15 degrees F for an hour for a tour bus that never came, an hour now on the app and phone after that to get that tour refunded, and more recently, more time out of my life after vacation is over tracking down why they are apparently recurring charging me according to my credit card alerts. Good customer serviceWe had a complicated situation happened in Puerto Rico on one of the last days. We wanted to scuba dive and we booked it and then x3 hours later when we received the email with the waivers it said we couldn’t participate if we were flying within 12 hours. Us very naive didnt know you couldn’t do that well the second I got the email we called and the place and they said if I could prove I got my email of the waiver within 1 hour that I could get the money back. well I sent him that email and proved no the waivers weren’t sent untill right before I called. Then he directed me to the cancellation policy said no refund and said for 50% of our $200 booking we could reschedule for up to 365 days. Eventually I hung up and messages GetYourGuide and very frustrated explained the situation and they were very helpful even with my grumpy mood and helped make the situation right. They did eventually refund…I clicked to buy tickets to an attraction for a same day admission. Two people were with me and watched me click tickets for the Space Needle for a time a few hours away. When we got back to redeem our ticket, we were told it was for a different attraction a few miles away. The Space Needle employee said she has seen this happen frequently. I contacted the app and was told there was no refund possible and I would have to contact the attraction we mistakenly had tickets for. No one at the other attraction would answer the phone. No new tickets were available for the Space Needle for another 3 hours and we didn’t have time to wait. So no Space Needle and no money. Since the employee has seen this happen many times, the problem is with the app and they won’t help.
Update: After being refused a refund a few times, I emailed again due to their response to my poor review. A few days later I did receive a refund so that’s good. They even changed the listing name of the other attraction per my suggestion although they didn’t tell me, I just noticed. Their mistake did mean that my guests did not get to see the Space Needle like they wanted and I had to spend a lot of time trying to get help..MotocolumboVersion: 23.26
EgyptWe used this app for the first time on our first trip to Egypt.
We only had a certain time frame that we could get off and knew we wanted to take a Nile cruise. We sent the information over the app and in minutes we had an entire itinerary set up for us.
When and where we needed to be for pick ups. The cities and sights we would be visiting. Peter was our contact and was available if we had questions or concerns. Our guides were professional and extremely knowledgeable. Micheal was our first guide in Aswan and he was amazing. We were with him for 2 days. He gave us a very warm welcome to his hometown. We learned so much about Aswan and it’s history. We visited Kom Ombo were our guide was waiting for us at the dock, then onto Edfu where we had a guide pick us up in horse and carriage. In Luxor we met Hami. He was waiting for us on the boat and drove us to Luxor temple the night we docked. We spent the next day with him visiting Valley of the Kings, Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut. He was very knowledgeable but also funny. We had a good time with him. He took us to traditional Egyptian meal then onto Karnak temple. We were on the night train back to Cairo and he and his driver took us to the train station and Hami made sure we found our seats and confirmed our driver would be at Giza station when we arrived in Cairo. As promised our driver was there. Even came on the train to our seats to help us off. (I’ve been told trains tend not to run on time so he’d probably been waiting awhile). He drove us to hotel and unfortunately our journey had to end. It was time for us to start our journey back to America. It was an amazing experience. Do not book attractions through this appIf you want to buy tickets for anything go to the original website and avoid third party like this app. The reason: you can’t get any help from GG and original seller can do nothing for you because you have only booking number from GG. On top of it if you want to contact GG you have to go through endless AI looping asking the same questions over and over. Super annoying! Chatting with a human is time consuming and fruitless . No phone number to call , only chat. If you find a phone number on your order it is the number to contact original seller or entity and they can’t find your order to help you. You are in a black hole with no solution . I do not recommend this app.
Update: customer service representative contacted me and let me know that they were working to help me out. The process was longer than I expected so I gave up before they let me know they resolved my issue. I gave tickets to a conference attendees already.

Great travel appLast year, my husband and I went on our 20th anniversary trip ton Spain, Portugal, Morocco, & Gibraltar. Get Your Guide was a great app to use in planning some of the places we wanted to see. Purchasing tickets for tours or points of interest was easy and the cancellation policy is very good. We had one place we had to cancel because of time constraints and we got a full refund because we cancelled within the time frame they mentioned. I also like the fact that tickets are stored in the app or you can download it to your phone and since we have iPhones, all our tickets were stored in Apple wallet so it was safe and secure and hassle free as we didn’t have to print physical copies. Also the freedom of not having to get in line to buy tickets is another bonus. We visited the Tile museum in Lisbon and the tickets were for the same day and entrance is at anytime so that helped us plan our day and we were able to take our time at all the places we visited..MrsColonel_03Version: 24.13.1
Colosseum BookingWe made a Vespa booking followed by a visit to the Colosseum. We finished our Vespa tour two hours early and headed to the location to meet our guide. The location was at a Basilica by the Colosseum, but we couldn’t find it. The picture was no help nor was the walking directions. We have several people to our guide hosts and even the police. We tried calling GetYourGuide. But no one answered and it says it is available for help 24/7. When I finally got a hold of somebody, they apologized and told me that they were too busy taking other calls and was unable to help me. I asked for a refund or possible credit on my next leg to Greece. I tried several times to call which I have verification on and there was no Problem-solving on the company’s part or understanding. App charged me but no tour bookedOn Jan 20 I tried to book a tour. After completing the booking the app stated that something went wrong but not to worry, they’re working on it. I contacted them after noticing my credit card had been charged, but GetYourGuide stated they had no record of me booking that tour. I was asked to send a screenshot of my charge from my bank. Nothing could get resolved as they still had nothing showing that I’d booked that tour. I then had to contact my bank, who then filed a dispute resolution claim. I’m giving the app 3 stars because I had booked another tour that went through just fine about a month ago. Customer service was also quick to respond. However, I’m reluctant to book another tour with this app as I don’t want to go through this again and possibly lose more money.

A great guide makes for a great tourOur tour was a two day tour of Jaipur for first time visitors. Our guide was Asif and he was amazing! He knew not only the history each place, but how it related to other places we were seeing. He made sure we saw the sites listed in the itinerary but did not rush us. He was patient in answering our questions, gave us plenty of time to take photos, knew the best spots and angles to take photos of us, and allowed us to explore some areas on our own. His English was very good and understandable to us as Americans. As is common with most Indian tours, we were taken to several shops. We were appreciative that the shops Asif brought us to were nice shops with quality goods - and that the proprietors, while eager to show us their goods, were not in any way high pressure, as can often be the case in some of these stores. Wonderful way to see Vibrant Bangkok’s ChinatownDon’t miss this amazing and affordable way to experience this culinary gem! Kwan was such an engaging and cheerful ambassador of this unique experience. We were told to try to see this busy site and thought we would best experience it with a shepherd. Kwan turned out to be a fantastic guide. We were a group of European and North American guests and all agreed that we would have been lost and would never even have stopped into some of the gems Kwan showed us based on their curb appearances. But after the second stop, we knew this was going to be a delicious adventure. From starting with green chicken curry, sampling out of this world pork satay with peanut sauce to crunching crispy crickets and savory Michelin noodles, we rolled our way to coconut ice cream with a side of mango sticky rice…. Trip to Angkor Wat & 3 other templesYesterday’s trip was amazing with our guide Koy and driver Michael. The early morning pickup was flawless-right on time for the beautiful sunrise at Angkor Wat (on the way Koy explained what we will be seeing and what to expect) by the way, Koy’s amazing camera skills sure came in handy and he was more than happy to take photos for anyone who asked. He was also very attentive to us, making sure we watched our steps (we are both 75) the lunch stop was in a very nice shady and cool spot with delicious food choices, very friendly servers and happy children playing and selling small souvenirs. Each temple we visited was amazing! The communication with Koy was fantastic, he always answered my questions before during and after our trip. Overall great experienceI am a first-timer and picked out this app pretty randomly when I was booking specific tours in Rome from the US. Several points worthy being mentioned: the app is user-friendly, easy to download and navigate. I booked my two tours pretty fast and at a competitive price. When I got to Italy, I received a text via my phone and Whatsapp that one of the tours was cancelled. They gave me two options for rescheduling and -thankfully - i was able to do it. The meeting point was the same and they did communicate that the vouchers will be the same: that saved me a lot of time and headaches. Everything went smoothly: we got to the meeting point and found our group right away. Great experience, reliable companies, and - most importantly - great communication: reminders, updates, etc. Will recommend the app to my countrymen and beyond.

The booking (Sirmione at sunset) was set to meet in an area that we had no way to get to or back from (literally NO taxi available within 4+ hours to get there OR back (called 4 companies and had our hotel call taxis services as well) without any availability, no ferry OR buses available on the way back because the cruise ends too late (last ferry at 1835 and last bus at 1935). I booked this thinking that it was sirmione because I was searching specifically for sirmione and all of the other tours under my search were leaving from the same dock in sirmione near scaglieri. Somehow this one made it past the “departure location: sirmione” search. Once I booked it and could not cancel (though attempted to), I figured there would be SOME form of transportation to/from the area, but there was not and now we are out quite a bit of money and the whole experience has been frustrating and stressful. The GetyourGuide staff stated they could not do anything about it, nor even refund the extra paid for wine that we will not drink, and ended our chat without allowing me to respond and before I was able to ask additional questions. Do not useWhile we enjoyed the self guided tour, we had an awful experience on a guided one. I tried posting the below with that review but oddly it doesn’t appear so I’m sharing it here. While in Italy, we decided to spend some time in the Jewish ghettos. As a matter of fact, when we are in Rome, our hotel is there. We were so excited to do the Venetian tour of the Jewish ghetto. We arrived early and met a few members from the local Chabad House. We arrived at the prescribed time of the tour and asked everyone around us if they were organizing the tour or part of it. No one was though. We couldn’t locate anyone so we called and e mailed the service who set this tour up. Eventually the tour guide showed up and we were immediately disappointed. We were under the impression that this would be a walking tour however the entire space only occupied a block. The information she recited was more of a history and geography lesson on Venice without specifically mentioning the Jewish community. After about ten minutes, we politely told the tour guide that we were leaving. Right after we contacted the company who set this tour up and said how disappointing it was and that we left the tour quickly. We asked for a refund and then they hung up on us. We are currently disputing this charge with American Express and we are highly recommending that people do not use this service. Steer clear and as they say in Italy “caveat emptor” (buyer beware). They will back the guides before paying customersWe had a underground colosseum booked months ago. (That was the one part I really wanted to see.) The provider showed up 15 mins late to meeting spot. The guide and him got into an argument. We started the tour and were inside and I asked about the underground portion because we were about to leave the colosseum…. That is when the guide explained that the provider failed to get us access!! so at this point, we were already inside the Colosseum. We could not do anything about canceling this one and trying to find someone else so we were effectively stuck with a tour that failed to provide what we wanted. I contacted your guide customer service and asked for a full refund. After days of going back-and-forth, saying that they keep contacting the provider and he was not responding. I got a partial credit based on the fact that we completed the rest of the tour.
I stated that’s not my fault! I would never have started it if he would have explained we weren’t going underground he knew perfectly well that he was hiding that fact, and that once we got into the Colosseum, he could charge us for a tour and hoped we would just take what he gave us…..after more back and forth. All I got from GET OUR GUIDE was if he doesn’t want to give you a full refund we can’t do anything else!!

Terrible customer serviceI recently had a dreadful experience with the GetYourGuide app that left me utterly frustrated and disappointed. Despite booking a popular large group tour in Rome several weeks in advance, I inadvertently booked the same tour again for the same day the day before the tour was set to begin. Shockingly, the app failed to notify me of this duplicate booking. Upon realizing my mistake, I immediately attempted to cancel one of the bookings, only to find out that I couldn’t because the tour was less than 24 hours away.
Customer service was an absolute nightmare. Despite numerous emails and interactions with different agents, they all robotically regurgitated the same excuse: “rules are rules.” It’s clear their primary concern is protecting their own interests, even at the expense of customer satisfaction. They shamelessly lied to me about the possibility of a refund, claiming the tour provider wouldn’t cooperate, only to be exposed when I reached out to the actual agency and received a prompt and courteous refund directly from them.
It’s evident that GetYourGuide’s customer service is severely lacking, with a dismissive attitude that suggests they believe their dominance in the market exempts them from providing quality assistance. Save yourself the headache and use alternative platforms like Booking, Airbnb, TripAdvisor, Klook, or any other service that actually values its customers. Does not actively confirm with guidesThe tours that GetYourGuide connects you with may be awesome, but their communication and confirmation system with their guides (as of the time of this review) is most definitely not awesome. I just had a same-day booking completely fall through. I’d thought it was odd that GYG could confirm a last minute booking, but was initially pleased that they could accommodate. Then the driver and guide did not show up. The guide had just failed to update their availability when a personal emergency came up. So, after chatting with the GYG staff person, I figured out that they confirm guide availability and issue vouchers based on the self-reported availability times maintained by the guide and NOT, say, by the guide actively clicking a confirmation button on their side. Imagine your boss scheduling a meeting within 2 hours and telling everyone you’d be there without having received your RSVP, just trusting that you’d be there because your schedule didn’t show anything else booked. GYG issued me a tour voucher based on trust that their guide had seen the booking. And as a result, we spent nearly an hour waiting in our hotel lobby when we could have been doing other things. At the very least, do not trust this app with any bookings under 72 hours prior until they fix this not insignificant glitch (which I hope they will). 🙂.OlyMumVersion: 24.27
Don’t buy Innsbruck cars through this companyI read an article about Innsbruck, which recommended I buy an Innsbruck Card. The card is a way to get around Innsbruck and includes admission into multiple tourist attractions. I clicked on the link to buy the card and it brought me to this company. I assume this company sponsored the article but I could be wrong. I bought the Innsbruck card through this company because it touted instant mobile ticket vouchers. We got our ticket vouchers instantly as stated and headed off to our first attraction. When we got there the mobile tickets didn’t work. After much ado with the ticket office we discovered that we didn’t actually have the Innsbruck card, but instead just ticket vouchers. Not only could we not enter the attraction but we‘d have to travel 30 minutes away to exchange the mobile vouchers for the actual Innsbruck Card tickets at a specific location. We could have just bought the Innsbruck card where we were but we’d be out an extra 68 euro. So we went to the tourist center 30 minutes away to exchange our electronic “voucher” for our paper Innsbruck Card. There we waited for an hour in line to get our Innsbruck Card. Only then were we on our way...what a waste of 2 hours. This company offered no convenience. We could have just bought the card anywhere in Innsbruck for the same price and without the hassle. GetYourGuide has serious gap in information synchronization, that causes customers wasting timeThis is my first and also the last time using GetYourGuide. The experience is terrible. GetYourGuide is totally wasting my time. In February, I booked a sea fishing activity in Lofoten, Norway on Sep 24th from GetYourGuide with a full payment, and received the confirmation email later in February. Then I didn’t receive any infos or updates either from GetYourGuide or the activity provider until the day before the activity, which is Sep 23th, that GetYourGuide send the notification email of the activity. However, as we followed the instructions to the meeting point, the provider said they didn’t receive our reservation from GetYourGuide, and due to the weather the activity was cancelled and the provider had already informed all the customers booking from its own website, but I didn’t received any notifications from GetYourGuide before. Until I made several calls to both GetYourGuide and the providers, GetYourGuide then learn about the change. That inverse is unreasonable and ridiculous that GETYOURGUIDE GET UPDATES FROM CUSTOMERS AFTER THE SUPPOSED START TIME OF THE ACTIVITY, which should be GetYourGuide’s responsibility to collect the updates and inform the customers. Based on my experience, apparently, GetYourGuide has serious gap in functionality of information synchronizing with the providers of activities showed on GetYourGuideGuide. Because of our experience with a third party vendor, we will never book with a third party vendor ever again no matter what kind of discount provided. Pre booked and prepaid a City of Lights tour for December 7, 9 PM. Only in St Augustine for two days and the city experienced torrential rains. When we tried to reschedule directly with City of Lights, we were told that some of the carts were not even running due to electrical issues and light failures and that we needed to contact who we contracted with originally to see if we could reschedule. That led to hours on a chat application where you could not speak to a person in live time who said we scheduled a trip in Instanbul to which I responded no, and attached a screenshot of the reservation. We were then told that we could not reschedule because the activity cost more and they could not change it once the activity was confirmed even if we wanted to pay the difference in cost. When I reiterated what we were told by a City of Lights representative, the agent reached out via phone to confirm, did not receive an answer, and sent a follow up email to confirm. Lame Customer ServiceThe app on my phone won’t let me login using Facebook. So when I book things on it, it is not connected to my account. I asked them to help me fix that as I was having difficulty contacting where I booked. And then on top of all of it, they lied to me and told me that other people would be I booked and I was the only one. And I told him that I would not book it unless I knew other people are going on it. I spent of my limited time going back-and-forth with customer service. I have used this app successfully in Scotland and other cities. Right now, I am in Athens. But nothing gets me more than people hiding behind customer service. I asked them to help me contact. Provider to move my booked slot forward an hour because of all the hassle and they just hid behind policy. Which is super funny because when I got to the place profusely and said of course that I could have taken the other slot. So they didn’t even try to help me. Airbnb experiences has much better customer service and you can actually contact the guide before out if other people are going on it and what they recommend. Tour guide never showed upI had to download this app in order to book a tour that I found online in Charleston, South Carolina. The tour was supposed to be a true crime pub crawl. They were supposed to tell you all the stories of organized crime and murders etc. that happened in Charleston along the path of this tour. We were very excited about it, it was going to be the highlight of our trip. but the day came for the actual tour, and we were at the meeting spot as indicated in the email, but no tour guide. We were there, along with eight other people who were there for the same tour. Everyone called the tour operator, but we were not able to get in touch with anybody who knew the status of our tour guide. We were directed to contact GetYourGuide for a refund. That has been a nightmare. I contacted get your guide twice on that trip, and requested my refund. Both times I was told that it had been submitted and should be available within three days. It is now seven days later, and I just got off the phone with another customer service agent who said that this is the first they’re hearing of it and there’s no record of my earlier calls. Now she’s telling me that I will have to wait another three days for my refund to be processed. This company is a mess. Don’t believe GYG descriptionWe booked a tour in Hong Kong that, according to the title and the description, included a dim sum lunch. The first thing our tour guide told us was this tour does not include lunch, as if she anticipated we all believed it did. All members of the group were a bit angry to be misled. Our tour guide was great, but we did not appreciate GYG misleading us into thinking the tour included lunch. The tour description clearly showed that lunch was included. The checklist of what was included also clearly showed lunch was included “if option selected.” There were no other options to select, not only for the date we selected but also for any future dates we checked after realizing we were ripped off. When I went to leave a review, the rate your review part of our tour was crossed off as completed. Imagine that. I contacted customer service and was given different excuses. The rating option was sent to your email and perhaps went to junk mail. It was not GYG’s description, it was the local tour provider we use. We’re sorry and we will escalate your situation. And then, they ghosted me on the customer support chat. It was obvious that misleading the customer was intentional. We previously used GYG in Japan and were very, very happy with our tour there. GYG Impersonal and Difficult to work withOur night-time aurora tour was cancelled late in the day and although GYG claimed the refund was credited that day, well over a week later we still had no refund and had to register complaints and eventually open a dispute through my credit card company. It seems that GYG only communicates via “bots” — at no time was I able to communicate about the problem with an actual human being. GYG was completely unhelpful and impersonal. This is unsatisfactory and I cannot recommend using them. Regarding the tour itself I cannot comment as it did not happen. We had booked a relatively expensive tour with a “small group guarantee” and while we understood the tour could be cancelled due to weather, our tour was cancelled because not enough people had signed up for it. Nowhere was this caveat provided in advance, and the only alternative offered at the time was to book something else at the last minute with another company without any time to do research on best options (and also at additional expense at the time because of not receiving the refund right away). Use TripAdvisor………I usually use TripAdvisor however the tour I want to go on was all booked up so I decided to use this app. I have to say that was the worst decision I made. The tour guide had no idea what she was talking about she was extremely unorganized. she was walking and talking and the group was at least 2-3 feet behind her and she just didn’t care she was speedwalking people had children she was talking to at least one person and it was at least 13 people in the group. So me and my partner left 20 minutes into the tour because it was horrible we couldn’t hear anything. So when I went to ask for a refund they only refunded half the money. we didn’t even get to take a tour. Get Your Guide just recommended to cancel the day before the Booked tour after informing their activity provider “Nice Tours” was unable to successfully purchase airline tickets even after requesting an additional charge to purchase Business Class airline beyond the original booking price of the tour package, even advising Business Class tickets as an option and never purchased any airline tickets for the tour package. This was close to $4k in U.S. dollars spent related to this tour package between October 2025 and March 2026 with Get Your Guide and their direct activity provider “Nice Tours” just to plan travel from the U.S. to Cairo, Egypt for the activity provider “Nice Tours” to recommend canceling the trip only one day prior to the actual tour since the activity provider “Nice Tour” were unable to purchase 7 airline tickets between October 2025 and March 2026. Thousands of U.S. dollars were spent for this experience and to only get notified by Get Your Guide activity provider “Nice Tours” one day before the tour is a bad and very expensive especially experience when Get Your Guide provided electronic tickets for the tour package but never booked the actual airline tickets for the tour. Buyer Beware!I booked an ATM Cave full day tour online for my family for our Belize trip. The online booking was through “Get Your Guide” which I didn’t realize until after, but convinced myself it would be safe and easy to use. The App is user friendly, but nonetheless, it is a third party online business, that cares little about the customer themself. My family drove over an hour the morning of the tour to get to the meeting site, only to be informed by a very rude woman at the Tour business site, that the tour was cancelled. I asked her about refunding our money spent on the tour, $180 each person, she said that she would not refund the money, I would need to contact the 3rd party, GetYourGuide” to request a refund. I asked her send them an email to let them know they cancelled the tour the day of, not me. She said no she would not do that. I asked how I was suppose to tell Get Your Guide? She told me she didn’t know, that wasn’t her job. Get your guide could contact them to ask if they wanted to. I asked for written proof that ATM cancelled the tour so I would have in writing to submit to ATM. The lady again told me that was not her job. When I got home, I contacted Get Your Guide. I was told by them that it was past the “cancellation and rescheduling deadline”! I told them I did not cancel the tour, the company ATM cancelled the tour. I should never have been charged! I was informed I would need to submit a complaint and it would be looked into. No refund of the charges on my credit card!

This app sets you up with con artists in india bewareI use this app to find tour guides in several locations around India. my experience was absolutely horrendous. These guides force you to take a look at local stores with a big story about their history and tell you don’t worry there’s no pressure I just want you to see this place. Once you arrive at the store, the owners greet you with food and tea and sit you down and tell you we just want to tell you about our history. No pressure…. The problem is they do not let you leave. It’s extremely high-pressure sales tactics even if you make it through one or two of the rooms there are still five rooms to go and even if you purchase something, they will force you to see the other rooms they will not let you leave without buying. at one location I had to physically move the person from blocking the exit thank goodness I am a bodybuilder. I don’t know what most people would do in the situation. Absolutely zero exit strategies to get out of these sales. Meanwhile, your tour guide is making commission on bringing you there. They are making commission on bringing you to lunch locations that are overpriced. my advice is use and stay far away from this and far away from these tour guides in India. They are all con artist trying to deceive foreigners India in general grossly overcharges foreigners, right in front of your face on Signs “india resident ₹50foreign resident ₹700” in every other country on the planet, this is racism and illegal but India is a terrible horrible country. Booking/Reservation process overchargedThis company charged me for a tour that they said I booked but never sent me the vouchers/tickets which cost $162. Now they are saying that they can not send me a refund because it has past their 24 hour cancellation policy. They claim that I must have booked 2 similar tours for the same time and date so I was charged for both of them. However they only sent one email with vouchers for one of the tours that they charged me. And that email with the vouchers was for the one tour that I believed I booked. Had they sent me an email with the vouchers of the alleged tour in question then that would have flagged me that I booked two tours. Even my booking history in the GetYoirGuideApp is only showing one tour which is the one I believed I booked and used. I keep telling asking where are the vouchers/tickets for the other tour but they keep responding that I can’t get a refund because it is past their 24 hour cancellation policy!!

I would never.I will never, I repeat, never use this service ever again!!!!!! my husband and I planned a trip to San Diego for a short vacation. We purchased three experiences with this  company. We were able to make one, but we were unable to finish the other two. Our vehicle broke down and sadly we had to end our trip early and were unable to complete the other two experiences.

Terrible customer service when no tour guide shows up and tried to get your refundW me booked 2 tours on 2 separate days. The first tour, we were there 30 minutes before the start time. No one showed up, period. I called the tour operator and emailed; no answer and no response. I went on the app and chatted, the lady who was helping me concluded that it was a no show and told me she’s processing a refund and file a complaint about this tour company. Days later I’m getting e emails asking me for more information and I still have not received my refund. The second tour, same thing happened except i I was the only a few minutes before the tour start time. Again, no one was there. This time the chat person was giving me a hard time and told me because I wasn’t there exactly 5 minutes before the tour I forfeit my position, never mind that no tour guide was there. We spent over 30 minutes on chat to no avail. An hour later I received an cancellation email on the tour at 1 hour 11 minutes after the tour start time.

Garbage Awful awful experienceI am an Offroad guide company. They called me 5 times a week to beg me to set up my business with them. I finally did. They didn't but bring me one reservation. The lady that called me gave me her phone number, which I lost and wish I would've saved in my phone. She helped set it all up. Said they were gonna take 25 % of my business. They don't tell you they sit on your money for up to 30 days after the tour was done. I tried calling no one I repeat no one would help me. I submitted a supplier ticket to find out if my payment stuff was set up and they couldn't even tell me that. They said I didn't need a sales tax number due to the type of business I was. Which now they won't pay me most likely till I do. I can't tell if my payments are set up now cause it said it wasn't in a email I got 4 months later even though I gave it all to them. If you are a business of any sort do not do business. They owe me tons of money and not even sure if I will get it! Most awful way to market your business ever! Most awful platform ever. The app stole money from meI tried to book tickets to NASA in Houston for July 22, 730am. I used their app to purchase 3 tickets for $92 and when it was time to pay it read invalid error , can’t process. So I logged out and went thru the process again to purchase 3 tickets and at payment time it read Invalid error. So I logged out an logged back in and went to try a 3rd time and boom, they did process the first 2 sets of attempts I had made even though it had said it didn’t process! So they charged me double amount. I called them immediately and spoke with a representative at 730am. My tickets were for 1pm that same day. They said they would look into . My wife an I called back a few other times and they gave us the run around each time. This all happened on a Friday . I called again today ( Monday ) and they gave me run around some more, they said they would look into it. Terrible customer serviceI booked the tour for the Vatican on this app. I had to reschedule due to timing and they issued me a gift card for their website which I then used to purchase two more tours for my trip to Rome. One tour I completely missed even though I showed up early and called their customer service. They promised to call me back and help me. Nobody called me back. Nobody helped me. I was left stranded in a foreign country with no tour walking around asking strangers to take me on a tour. The other tour got canceled about an hour before the tour started. So we were literally in route to the Sistine Chapel and told unfortunately, they overbooked tickets and therefore you can’t go..
I called them. They said they would issue a refund but only as a gift card. Who in their right mind would ever use this service again after having this terrible experience? I called their customer service. I chatted. I asked for a manager seven times and was told that the Manager is at lunch. I then got an email saying that their decision is final and basically they’re holding onto all of my money as a gift card and refused to refund it to me. Rome: Colosseum underground All Access w/ Roman ForumNot sure if this is a Get Your Guide problem or the company they contract with to do the tour, which is Tours & Experiences ltd. But both I would NOT recommend…Terrible! We purchased tour tickets for the Underground portion tour of the Colosseum w/ access to the Roman Forum. I booked the 2pm tour, they changed the times 2 times that day, and I received notification while we are on a tour at the Vatican. There was NO way to make it to the Colosseum. We cut the Vatican short and made it to the Colosseum with 5 min to spare. No admittance. We were not the only people that were having the same issue. We all found the girl with the “flag” and asked her to please take us to the correct office to get this issue resolved and was told there really wasn’t an “office”. We asked her to please walk over to the entrance and tell them what had happened, and scan our tickets, we even said we would just go in to see it and tour on our on. After hesitation she did, and we were told by the Colosseum worker after scanning the tickets she pulled up, that we were already inside actually on the tour. They give you gift card without asking so you can’t ask for a refundI wanted to cancel a booking because I booked the wrong timing, when I booked it said 24 hr free cancellation, but after I booked I saw that I can’t cancel it cuz it was in the 24 hours of booking so I asked the representative if he can rebook me the correct timing well he tried to call them they didn’t answer so he said he can request a refund or gift card, I asked for a refund and I was happy I did the rebooking myself and paid. Terrible customer service!I had to miss a scheduled tour, but it was the fault of our Uber driver, who got lost and took us to a different Vendor. I spoke to the ticket agent for the Tour, who said it wouldn't be a problem to “reschedule” the Tour, but they wouldn't reimburse the money for “missing” a tour. We desperately wanted to go on the tour, so we wanted to reschedule. We tried to resolve the situation with a customer service agent with “GetYourGuide” more than once, and both times, they said we couldn't reschedule, even if the Ticket agent said we could. We could not do anything and wouldn't get our money back. Being in a Foreign country is confusing, and when you schedule a tour, don't speak the language, and miss a tour because the Uber driver takes you someplace else, it's not your mistake; there should be a little empathy and understanding. The ticket agent for the tour understood and was willing to reschedule our tour. The GetYourGuide customer service agent refused to reschedule our tour for another day. It was Awful and completely unwarranted. Never again. Not What Was AdvertisedThis tour was advertised as as a tour of the seven hills of Rome but in reality it was a tour of all the usual stops on a regular tour. Having been to Rome several times before we booked this specifically to focus on the 7 Hills When we asked this the tour guide about this he laughed and then the two tour guys consulted and they actually acquiesced to stop at three of the seven Hills. The tour also advertised audio guide included but again in reality the only information was from the driver/guide so it was impossible for those in the rear to hear what he was saying or to understand particularly because of the Italian accent. There was a microphone but it was not in working order. The stops that we did make were very nice and we enjoyed the ones we’ve seen before and the ones we have not, it was just not what we hoped for. So when booking this keep in mind that it is just a regular tour of the usual stops to Colosseum, Trevi Fountain etc. and including a couple of the Seven hills. Will never use get your guide ever againPoor customer service. They do not price match prices on their own website if you book way in advance despite their claims of “price match guarantee”. Our tour dropped their price by half 2 days before our scheduled tour. I was hesitant to cancel the booking as I might lose a spot since there’s 9 of us. So I emailed to provide proof of the price change expecting to be refunded the price difference. But you’d never receive a response back via email. Like your email goes to a black hole. When you call them about the email you sent, they claim they never received it. Calling customer service can’t assist you. They don’t even allow you to escalate the call to a supervisor or manager. The email went through successfully by the way. You can trace the route of the email and also no bounce back emails. But they claim they never received it and that they can’t help me until they receive the emails. What kind of customer service can’t help you on the phone until they receive your email? Sold me an unusable ticketI was in Lisbon on Dec 31, 2021, looking forward to visit Jeronimos Monastery, one of the few tourist attractions that do not state New Year's Eve as a closing day. Arriving at the Monastery, it was true that the Church was open and that's free entry. The ticket is for the Cloister which was closed that day. I confirmed that with church staff.
So I requested a refund, mentioned that the paid section of the monastery was closed. The response was a screenshot from the monastery's website on closing dates, denying the refund because the website doesn't have Dec 31 as a closing date. That's accusing a customer of lying. When a customer tells you something contradicting what you find online, the least that you can do is to verify with a human. I replied that I wanted them to email to the monastery and verify that the Cloister was closed. Their response was it's their policy that they couldn't refund for requests made within 24 hours of event starting time but that's completely missing the point. While on vacation in Greece I communicated with the tour operator about pick up location the day before, providing my confirmation number only to find out that there never was such a tour on the dates booked! Did not help at allMy partner and I booked a boat tour for 4.24 at 3pm. The operator changed time to 11am which we moved other plans around to accommodate. The instructions on where to meet were poor and confusing. We ended up at another dock #2 as there are two labeled that way at the marina. We spent additional money to get a water taxi to make it to the other side of the marina in time to catch our tour. We communicated while we were trying to get there and they ignored us. When arrived hey had left and refused to speak to us at all. I reached out to the get your guide support chat for help and or a refund and didn’t even get a response after being told to hold on for a few minutes by two different reps. They never came back to the chat and sent emails saying the operator informed them of our cancellation request which we never requested. DISAPPOINTED-DOUBLE BOOKING POLICYI accidentally made a duplicate booking for the Vatican Museums & Sistine Chapel within minutes while comparing ticket options for my family trip. The listings looked very similar, and unfortunately both bookings went through already.
I contacted support right away explaining it was an accidental duplicate purchase for the same attraction, same date, and same family, but no refund, credit, or cancellation exception was offered due to the strict non-refundable policy.
I understand policies are important, but I wish there was more flexibility for obvious duplicate bookings made within minutes. Travelers should double-check carefully before confirming because cancellations or duplicate errors may not be reversible.

Do not book on getyourguideDo not trust GetYourGuide. They are actively hosting fraudulent, bait-and-switch tours on their platform and refuse to take a shred of corporate responsibility when things go wrong. They pocket premium fees from international travelers, and when their operators scam you, their customer service does absolutely nothing to support the customer.
My husband and I spent thousands of dollars organizing a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Spain, built entirely around seeing the Nasrid Palaces at the Alhambra in Granada. We paid a massive premium to GetYourGuide months in advance strictly to guarantee palace access. Instead, the operator failed to secure our tickets, leaving us completely stranded at the palace gates while the rest of our tour group walked inside. It was a heartbreaking and publicly humiliating experience that entirely destroyed our thousands of dollars in travel planning.
When I reached out to GetYourGuide customer support for help, they did absolutely nothing. They hid behind scripted templates and refused to issue a full refund, trying to force us to pay a premium price for a basic garden walk we never wanted.
To make this a complete and utter scam, GetYourGuide has actively blocked my ability to leave a review for this tour. Their system completely removed my option to leave public feedback and is now falsely claiming that I "already posted a review" when I absolutely have not. They are intentionally manipulating their review system to silence scammed tourists and hide predatory operators from the public. GetYourGuide is complicit in this fraud.
