Contacts: MEGA accesses your contacts so you can add them from your device.
Microphone: MEGA accesses your microphone when you capture a video, make a call or record voice messages inside the app.
Camera: MEGA accesses your camera when you capture a video or photo or make a call inside the app.
Face ID: MEGA accesses Face ID to allow you to easily unlock the app's passcode when you enable this option.
Local network: MEGA accesses your local network so you can place and receive calls through devices that are on the same Wi-Fi or other local network.
Location: MEGA accesses your location when you share it with your contacts in chat.
Add photos to photo library: MEGA accesses your photo library to add photos and videos to your device gallery.
Photo library usage: MEGA accesses your photos and videos when you upload them, share them through the chat and when camera uploads are enabled.

MEGA Rules Them AllWhen everyone was cloud-crazy, getting free GBs from every company that offered them, I was among them. I probably had about 30 free accounts. Then they started dropping like flies; their free accounts were no more...or the company got out of the cloud storage business altogether! I still have several, but I find myself turning more and more to just a couple that I use most often...and MEGA is one of them. First, the free tier is very generous. It is solid, and I feel more comfortable with their security than I do most of their rivals. But what I’m most impressed with is that they are becoming integrated with my browser and online experience. It’s fantastic when I need a file from a colleague and instead of downloading it, I'm asked if I would like to just save it into my MEGA space. Yes, I would! It’s awesome! This is a five-star app delivering a five-star service. I hate inept users who give apps 1 star because they don’t understand how it works or what it’s for. I love MEGA...I sure hope they're here to stay..Version: 3.7.7

IMPORTANT!!!!!Hey mega, just wanted to inform that i keep deleting things and i still have no space? i deleted plenty of folders and videos in the app and i also deleted 200+ photos and videos from my gallery. i also try to download videos from the app but it’s not working.Version: 4.9.1

Keeps CrashingThe app kept crashing everytime i tried to access it from the actual app or a shortcut, I’ve also updated the app to the most recent version released 4 days ago but the issue still persists. This only started happening after iOS 14.1 or 14.2 was released.Version: 5.5.1

⭐⭐⭐ 3-Star Review Great storage — but the referral system doesn’t work epic failMEGA does offer generous free storage, and the encryption and privacy features are excellent. The app itself works well for uploads and sharing files — no complaints there. Difficult for larger videos very slow Where the experience falls apart is the referral program. I personally walked several first-time users through installation using my link, in the correct order, on devices that never had MEGA installed before. Not one referral was credited. Support repeated the same scripted explanation and closed the case even though the requirements were clearly met. It leaves the impression that the referral program may not reliably register installs, which is disappointing when the advertised 5 GB bonuses are part of why people promote the app. If the offer cannot be tracked properly, it should be improved or removed. Great app, strong privacy — but the referral system needs serious attention to be trustworthy and fair. How bad would it be to give extra to someone who if clearly helping them and others.
