Sleep Number App Comments & Reviews

Sleep Number Positive Reviews

Good but user customization would make it betterUsing the app is pretty easy but the ability to be flexible on things is limited. For instance, why only the set time frames for adjusting the base setting? What if I want it to adjust in 1.5 hours? Similarly with the foot warmer? Why is it 2 hours or off? Why not allow the user to adjust like they were setting a timer on their phone? Just put a dial that can be scrolled through. If the foot warmer can only be on for 2 hours max, then set that as the max value-but what if I want it on less than 2 hours? At that point I have to get my phone, open the app, navigate to the foot warmer section and turn it off. It could be so much easier. Is the app Siri compatible where I can ask Siri to make the change or adjustment and I can set that up on my own? Also, the app should be able to differentiate between a night’s sleep and a short rest or nap. Opening my app after a nap to see a score of 11 is annoying. I don’t care-I only want to see my overnight sleep scores. Let the user indicate that 1-2 hour period (or allow user specific settings) is a nap and is not to be calculated. Or let the user indicate that anything during a set time frame is or is not calculated. There is a lot of potential with this app, but even after reading reviews from a year ago that have commented some similar thoughts, nothing like it has been implemented so I hope developers can make some user specific customizations possible soon..Version: 4.8.22

Love the bed, mostly good app but falls short on circadian rhythmI love the bed, which we’ve had for several years now, and although there are a few idiosyncrasies with extra sessions and start times, it mostly gives me accurate assessments of our sleep patterns in comparison with other apps (sleep cycle, MyAir by ResMed for my cpap). The one exception is the circadian rhythm, manifested in the Ideal Schedule - It only ever changes on Saturday night/Sunday morning, which is the one time in the week when I have to get up early. The app insists on setting the basis for my circadian rhythm on this one night’s sleep pattern, which throws off the rest of the week, when I consistently go to bed a bit later and wake up later by about an hour. I’ve tried setting up multiple schedules but the app refuses to obey those schedules, and it refuses to adjust the Ideal Schedule to my extremely consistent weekday schedule. If I look at the weekly graph in the Timing option in My Sleep Health, it’s obvious that my sleep pattern is consistent, except for Saturday/Sunday, but the app is dinging my score because I'm not conforming to my one outlier night. There should be a way to adjust the night on which the Ideal Schedule is based on, or else take an average based on all 7 nights. If a change were made to accommodate such a need, I would happily give a five star rating..Version: 4.8.30

Love our new bed!!!I am a 47 yr old female and I have Multiple Sclerosis. I had gotten to the point I lived in silent pain all the time. When I was first diagnosed we went out and bought one of the greatest memory foam mattresses on the market. After a few years it started to sag in the places we laid every night and where I spent a lot of my time when my body just would now go. After finally 11 years and now losing down to 88 lbs. I was waking up with bruises from laying on bones. It was time to make a change. We went and looked at the sleep number and I was hooked. The pressure points were immediately relieved. At the touch of a button this bed adjust to the best number for you; And keeps adjusting as you move around at night. My Husband who was constantly changing positions during the night does not flop around like a fish anymore! The first night we piled in let the auto-adjust do it’s thing, and we both were out like a light. No more tossing and turning. It has helped with my MS pain tremendously, and it has helped with my husband’s back pain (an old compression injury). Even with out pain I would recommend this bed to ANYONE that is looking for a restful nights sleep. It is hands down the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. We are so glad that we made this purchase. It is definitely worth every penny!.Version: 4.5.10

Great bed, lame appLike other folks on this site, the bed is absolutely wonderful - we upgraded 3 days ago from an 18-year-old original SleepNumber bed to an i8 with Flex-Fit 2 base. My wife and I are not a fan of the SleepIQ app, though. Where do I begin? First is the idea of Routines. Theoretically, it’s a good idea but implemented poorly. You need to let the sleeper tell the bed when to start tracking (I’m in bed and I’m turning in for the evening - start tracking), oh, and I want to be able to set an alarm to wake me at 6:10 AM - nice touch. In the morning (when the alarm is gently waking you, you grab the phone and click off the alarm - this tells the bed, I’m up - stop tracking me. Capture the data, store it, generate a score and automatically enter Privacy mode until I tell you I’m ready to sleep again (later tonight). Easy peasy, and exactly how our FAVORITE sleep study app, SleepCycle, works. This eliminates the problem of having non-sleep sessions throw your stats out of wack and eliminates disabled Routines because you jumped in bed too early. With the added benefit that the app can track your sleep regularity, all with a LOT less stress - did I mention we’ve used SleepIQ for only 3 days and it feels counter-intuitive across the board. Give SleepCycle a try, you’ll love it. Better yet, incorporate the best features of SleepCycle into SleepIQ and make a lot of users very happy!!! Thanks for listening..Version: 4.8.22

Great but could be excellentI love the SleepIQ app for the stats it gives on how well I sleep at night and bed exits have been particularly revealing. I have been a sleep walker my entire life, but I had no idea how much I sleep walk until I got my Sleep Number bed. It turns out that I do that maybe 2-3 times per week for 20-30 minutes each time! The data has helped me figure out patterns that seem to trigger it, like having a nightcap before bed. I’m sleeping much better now and haven’t woke up even once sleeping in strange spots around my apartment after sleep walking. As far as what could be improved- the app used to let me finely adjust the FlexFit base, but now seems to ignore it when I choose a preset and then want the head to go up or down. I think it still works if I fine tune a favorite, but I don’t want to try it and lose my previous setting. I spent to long finding just the right configuration for me. I think this is a huge bug you all need to fix, so -1 star. Otherwise, I also concur with other reviewers who have said the app needs improvements on collecting data for naps, and wakeful activity like watching TV, or other more (eh-hem) “personal activities”. Privacy mode just isn’t enough. Users should be able to flag data that should not be inside the sleep health statistics..Version: 4.8.10

Excellent feedback for Sleep Apnea patients!Even though I wear a C-PAP machine nightly for sleep apnea, this is excellent additional feedback for my personal knowledge, as I also have Narcolepsy. I use this information to fine-tune adjustments in my bed positions to lessen restless leg syndrome and leg cramping that may be causing poor sleep episodes, & this feedback has really been helping me to do this! I love my Sleep Number Bed and all of the new features! This is actually my third Sleep Number bed as my life circumstances have changed - a lot - and, although I have had to down-size to a twin XL (the double wouldn’t fit up the stairs) it’s just as awesome as the Queen size! I will never purchase any other brand of bed! I’m not saying that my life circumstances will never change and that I’ll never need a different size bed! my C I would sure love to try the King Size Sleep Number Bed. But, if the twin XL barely fit up our almost Centennial house, I’d have to put it in the dining room…no way. As my now 70 year-old body is still responding to Gravity, my options to medically relieving pain are dwindling. My Sleep Number Bed is my saving grace. It’s amazing how much a slight change in my Sleep Bed Number can make such a big difference on my pain level - giving me much relief! It’s miraculous!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.Version: 4.7.11

Sleep Number 360 best bed everWe upgraded our sleep number M7 that we purchased 10 years ago for a sleep number 360. We ordere. it from the Springhill TN store over the phone. We have been sleep number customers for over 10 years now and would not have any other type of bed. We didn’t think it would be possible to have a bed more comfortable than our old M7. However, the first night that we slept in the 360 what is the most amazing sleep I have ever had in my entire life. We used our app to find our perfect setting. We also set the temperature control so that would automatically cool to our perfect comfort. The app is very user-friendly and easy to control. The bed We ordered from James at the Spring Hill store, and Nathan also assisted. The customer service I received was impeccable. The Delivery was done to perfection and delivered exactly on time. The installers were great communicators, moved my old bed to another room and installed my new bed in about an hour and a half. They showed us how to use our bed using the app and made sure that we were happy before they left. I will never ever have any other bed as long as I live, I am a forever Sleep Number customer. Now my husband and I can’t wait to to go to bed every night..Version: 4.8.40

App works greatI’ve read some bad reviews that talk about the app not working or providing wrong data. I’ve had no problems with this app. It’s pretty accurate letting me know how much I’ve slept and whether it was restless sleep or a good sleep and it matches how I feel that day. The controls for firmness work great...... most times......, and this is the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars, because every once in a while it will give me a bad reading and say I’m at 35-40 when it’s really at 50 or 55. When that happens I just reset the system or just inflate real high like 90 or higher and then set my sleep number back down to 35-40 and it usually gets right back in line. As for the bed itself, I have been waking up with a sore back for over 20 years, nothing major just sore enough where I had to walk around for an hour or so before it started feeling better, and I have tried no less than 4 different mattress over those years and it wasn’t until I purchased the Sleep Number that I am finally waking up feeling great. It took about a week or two before I found my sleep number but once I did, no more sore back. I don’t have the adjustable base so I cannot comment on that but just on a flat base I feel great..Version: 3.7.0

It’s fine, but...The app is fine, but it’s not very intelligent and it should allow for more user control. On intelligence, if I get in bed in the middle of the day for an hour - that’s probably a brief rest or a nap, especially if I later have a full night’s sleep, but the app treats a nap or any lying on the bed like any full night of sleep. It should be able to recognize this as a brief rest or nap and automatically remove it from the overall sleep scoring, flag it and ask how I want to treat it, or treat it a different way. As it is, it throws off the overall sleep score, and I have to go back and remove it. Why can’t the app track maps or brief middle-of-the-day rests as just that? On user control, when I do get in bed, the tracking starts and there is nothing I can do to stop it or adjust it or tell the app I am just resting or taking a nap. It should allow me to stop the tracking or provide some input so my overall sleep score remains accurate or is tracking what I want it to track. Without the intelligence or user control, I have to do a bunch of after-the -fact removing of sessions for the app to track my sleep appropriately - or it would be nice to have naps or rests tracked but tracked separately - that would be intelligent sleep tracking. Seem like pretty simple and obvious fixes. On a separate note: the app is great for controlling the bed..Version: 4.4.30

Best bed for a bad back after years of searching!I have suffered from a bad back for years that is from a bulging disc to degenerative disc diseases and mild scoliosis starting. My back got worse with the wrong bed and I bought another one then another one that is standard mattress that are firm to “support” your back. Even tried the foam mattresses-which if you have inflammation, is the worst for keeping it in because of the foam holds heat. Well thousands of dollars later and several mattresses later, I talked my Fiancé into going to check out a sleep number bed at our local store. They were having a good sale and I’ve always heard these were good but I couldn’t afford one. After we tried it in the store and there was a 100 night guarantee or they take it back, we thought let’s do it! My Fiancé and I, BOTH are 100% satisfied and now we feel so much better. His hips doesn’t ache and my back doesn’t hurt when we wake up! Finally!!! We have had our sleep number for 113 nights now. When we travel and sleep in Hilton’s plush beds (which some are comfy) we both agree that we can’t wait to get home to “our” bed! Sleep Number is amazing!! Go get one!! Sleep is very important to a healthy life!.Version: 4.7.11

Great Information Poor DesignThis app has loads of information about the Sleep Number bed and personal health. It however is very complex and hard to navigate. There are many sections which have useful information but it is difficult to move around the sections and not intuitive. To begin with it’s hard to register two users. The first user is reasonably straightforward but to register a second person required two phone calls to customer service. Even with customer service help, the first user was dropped when the second was added. Not only is there a lot of information about the beds, there is a lot of personal health information provided for each user. Unfortunately not all of the information is explained and therefore less helpful. Some of the sections of the app have no clear way to move to another and you must exit the app and return to get to another area. There’s a great feature that provides loads of helpful information while also earning rewards. There are many sections of information that give you rewards points good for merchandise by reading them or viewing a short video. There is a problem with some of the sections that don’t work and some that you can’t exit without exiting the app and then returning..Version: 5.0.5

App needs smart updatesI’ve had my bed for a couple of days, but I noticed that the app could be a little more user friendly. If you’re expected to inflate the bed after you wake, why not have a reset button within the Bedroom Control tab option. I was also confused by the Sleep Tab. After waking up after my first night, I couldn’t figure out how to have app recognize that I was no longer in sleep mode. I had to go do an internet search to figure out how to make the adjustment. Again, why not have a sleep and wake option within the Sleep Tab instead of having to go to Settings Tab each time. Also, what’s the point of Connecting Apps if it doesn’t show up as a reference point within the app. I connected my Nest Thermostat and Nokia Body Cardio Scale expected that it was going to be a part of a sleek dashboard, but it’s no where to be seen. This app would be great if it wasn’t so basic. I’d love the ability to be able to connect the bed to my other smart home devices. Enhance routines by allowing you to automatically adjust your bed to your sleep number at a certain time each night. Create IFTTT applets that connect to LIFX lightbulbs, etc. Maybe an Alexa option that allows you to adjust the settings without having to grab your phone or the remote. Just my thoughts..Version: 3.7.1

Good App Could Be BetterOkay so first I have to say that I do like this app. It’s a really good app and I enjoy getting the feedback from my nightly sleep sessions. I also use this app to control the sleep number settings on my bed as well as the adjustable base. I like that the app has both the bed settings and the base control settings configured into one app. We were considering using a different base but then would have needed 2 apps to control the bed and the base so having one integrated app is awesome. The app is easy to use and user friendly. My only complaints have to do with sleep tracking. You have to turn the privacy settings on and off for it to track when you want it to. It would be nice to just hit a button when you’re going to sleep and have an alarm built in that when you turn it off in the morning it stops tracking. Otherwise it will track if you’re just laying in your bed at any other time and it messes with your sleep score. Also my dogs will get on my bed after my husband gets up and it starts tracking their stats as if he were still in bed. And the on and off feature should be one click not two..Version: 4.8.30

Bed Great, App Connectivity Not So MuchWe love the bed (i10 with FlexFit 3 base), but the SleepIQ app has problems. More specifically, the bed has connectivity problems with the app in both the Bluetooth and Cloud mode. We have not experienced the problems that others have noted with the SleepIQ app itself— once we are able to get the bed and the app talking to one another. This process is hit or miss at our house; about half the time I need to power off the bed and power it back on before we can get any kind of connectivity between the app and the bed with either Bluetooth or Cloud. It can be a bit aggravating at 2:30 in the morning when you’re finally able to climb into bed only to have to recycle power to the bed before you can turn on the foot warmer, which is one of my favorite features. Bottom line: Love the bed, hate having to arm wrestle with getting the app to work; once we get connectivity between the bed and the app working, the sleep IQ app seems to work fine and accurately tracks our sleep. And in case you’re wondering, I’m an IT professional with 30 years experience. I have a mesh Wi-Fi network in my house with a Wi-Fi node in the bedroom and have maximum Wi-Fi connectivity in that room. I’m using the latest SleepIQ app (v3.7.0) on an iPhone 8 with iOS 11.4.1..Version: 3.7.0

My ongoing reviewBackground: We had a 7yr old split C2 and decided that we really don’t do that much with our feet (it’s not like these things are as flexible as a recliner) and that we’d much rather feel like two people sleeping in the same bed instead of two people sleeping in adjacent beds. So we essentially went from the basic model to the 360 half split top-of-the-line model. But we’re trying it for the 100 days and I intend to update this review as I go. ###### Night 1: install guys were great, provided a lot of useful information. They helped me get the app set up on my phone and walk me through the basics. Had a really hard time getting it connected and staying connected to the WiFi. Installers stayed until all errors were gone on the app. So far so good. App UX is decent. First complaint I have is lack of flexibility on the scheduling: I should be able to have more than one schedule/event per night. I have a 7 hour night plan. What I want is feet and core to start warming before I get in. Then I want core to go off after 1 hour and feet to stay on another 2-3 hours. Then I want cooling core after 5 hours. I get one schedule per night. I guess I’ll just start with my feet and see what happens. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.Version: 5.0.5

Love it most of the time.It has been helpful to know how I’m sleeping every night. I like knowing my heartbeats and breath rate. Seeing a visual of how well rested your sleep is can be very satisfying. Now that I’m sheltered in and sick with Covid-19 it’s not always fun for the app to tell me I’m not sleeping well. “ No Duh, I’m sick.” I don’t like the new feature just added. It reads your circadian rhythm. I haven’t been sleeping within the hour’s of sleep it tells me to stay within in order to get a good night sleep. I don’t know if I ever will. Usually I have a different schedule on the weekend. That’s just life. It docks your Sleep IQ score for that. My scores are now lower. I’m not sleeping within the suggested range most of the time. It’s recommended for you not to take naps or change from your sleep schedule. Well, I’m going to at least some of the time. So, I don’t like this feature as well as the rest. I don’t like sitting on my bed and having it read my heart rate through my bottom. If you take a nap close enough to when you wake up then it adds the sleep time to your prior night sleep. That changes your score for the worst. I go in and edit that off later. It puts the score back to the way it was before..Version: 4.3.1

Split the differenceMy wife and I both have issues with our back and require two different types of mattresses. Naturally that is not easily accomplished without two complete separate beds. In comes Sleep Number. I gave it a 4 star because I split the difference between my wife and I. My wife absolute loves it!!! Me, I’m okey with it. Although I do not get excited about much anyways. But my wife is happy and the pain in her back is relieved which is worth ALOT!! I say a lot because I’m paying for my bed right now that we have had for 3 months. The downside of this bed- it’s cost!! Everything about this bed is expensive. So as long as you get that in your head, oh well. The only gripe I have is that we bought our bed two months ago and asked the sales person if the beds ever go on sale. We were told possibly. Well, Labor Day hits and now our bed was on sale for almost $3,000 less than what we purchased it for. I was not happy at all!! If my wife didn’t like the bed I would have returned it or lit it on fire in front of the store ( that’s sarcasm people). But seriously, I was not happy. Final thoughts. 1) if you can get over the price, it’s great. 2) if you have serious back issues, it’s great..Version: 3.7.0

Love it, but please keep us Night Shift workers in mind.I have been using this bed for a while now, and I love the App features that gather my sleep and health data. I am a Sleep Technologist as well and find this information would be so useful to us and your physician and sleep specialists when we see you in the clinics and sleep labs. I love the monthly report that you can download, save, print, and share. This would be so valuable to them. Your data is pretty accurate. I am amazed at this technology. I confess as a “Trekkie” I always hoped to see the “Star Trek Bed” from Dr. McCoy’s sick bay, it appears we have finally achieved this. How amazing we were already dreaming this technology decades ago and we made it happen! Can I make a recommendation? For future, perhaps find a way to screen users who work night shift and include features, tips, coaching, articles, etc specifically for us? Much of the sleep support is mostly for “day walkers” but us “night walkers” have a completely different circadian rhythm that needs constant vigilance and support to maintain optimal a health and heart health. Thank you!! Keep up the great work!.Version: 4.7.0

Great to add as extra remote but as sleep tracker it leaves a lot to be desired.I have an Apple Watch a Fitbit and now the sleep iq apps. The only one I feel is somewhat accurate as well as user friendly is the Fitbit app. The apps all have some adjustments but the Fitbit allows you to adjust the start and end time in bed both forward and back. This allowing the app to recalculate your sleep based on when you actually are in bed vs when it automatically activates. The sleep iq only allows you to shorten the time of sleep calculated. I have had it shut off at 2 am and was truly in bed till 6:45. 4 hours and 45 minutes of sleep not tracked. So my sleep score was unfairly low. When I have gone to sleep At 10 pm a lot of times it says im not in bed or I’m in bed but not a sleep for 1 to 2 1/2 hours again giving me again an inaccurate score as I like the concept of the app. And I would like it to be a secondary way to compare my sleep the weeks that I have used myself I have been dissatisfied. Please keep trying to configure the settings and allow user adjustments to allow for adding the time you get in bed to sleep and get up to help recalculate the sleeping score more accurately. So for now it’s more of a way to have an alternative to using the actual remote..Version: 4.0.2

Very comfortable. App isn’t good.We bought the 360 split king bed few months ago. It’s a heavy investment but one I hope turns out to be worth it in the long run. I love that I can raise my head without the need for three pillows. We both keep the cooling on all the time as we both run hot while sleeping. I do wake up feeling good with no discomfort from the bed. It took some time getting used to. The bed is noisy when the cooling is on. My biggest complaint is the app. It’s very glitchy. I’m having to reset the bed at least weekly. It often doesn’t record when I get out of bed so it still says I’m in bed at noon time, so my “sleep patterns “ aren’t accurate. My husbands side sleep number changes on its own and he wakes up feeling he’s sleeping on a slab of granite oftentimes. I bought the hand held remote to try and fix this however the app and the remote seem to fight each other. I wish the app matched the quality of the bed. Otherwise, I’m happy with the bed. Our previous bed was a beauty rest black. It was a $5000 bed that only lasted 5 years before it started to sag. The new bed can’t be moved or rotated so I’m really hoping this is the forever bed!.Version: 4.8.30

Fun to Check Each Morning!Good app and great to control bed with. But four points that could be improved:(1) if I sit on the bed to, for example, do some computer work, the bed logs me as going to bed to sleep. If this happens at 8:30 pm, the next day’s log shows that I went to bed at 8:30. (2) while you can edit that bedtime to be the real bedtime (say, 11:30), it says that the change will be reflected in my SleepIQ but will not recalculate the other averages. But don’t all of those other numbers (periods of restlessness, number of times out of the bed, etc.) affect the SleepIQ? (3) need to add a timer feature to the app. We almost didn’t buy the separate remote control but am glad we did because that’s where the timer is. I usually use my phone while my husband uses the remote but I have to hunt it down when I want to set a timer. Seems like it would be easy to add that feature to the app. (4) 10 minutes is too long for the underbed light to stay on. Would be better if you could set the time: 3, 5, or 10 minutes. None of these ideas make this a bad bed! It’s a great bed and app and I highly recommend it. Just wanted to share my thoughts for improving the app..Version: 4.0.2

Great bed but lots to learnWe’ve had our bed for nearly a year but there is still a lot to learn about it. I try to buy cheaper sheets which I’ve had a difficult time doing. I love the fact that we can move our legs and head up. I find that I can find more comfortable positions to sleep in with that ability. I also appreciate that I can let air in and air out in order to make it softer or more firm. I don’t like how it’s difficult to shift the bed within my bed frame. It seems that over the past few months it’s shifted and now I can’t quite get a comforter into the area between the footboard and the bottom of the bed itself. I also dislike the remote that is attached to the bed. The cord is not long enough, but I like that there’s an area for it to always be so that it doesn’t get lost so I’m 50-50 on that. I feel as if they mention there’s easy ways to earn points so as to get free bedding but I have yet to earn anything free but I have learned a lot doing the few things that I have done within the app overall it’s a great bed. It would be nice if they could come out after a year and answer any questions and show us anything we still need to know, a sort of follow up..Version: 4.8.10

CLOUD 9I have been fortunate enough to experience my 2nd Sleep Number! The 1st was the iLE & now the 2nd (360) with all the bells and whistles that truly handle all of our resting formalities! It works fantastic for me but more importantly it handles all of the needs of my other half’s medical needs… swelling, stiffness & mobility issues is just the start but I’ll keep it simple. She has already felt the affects of decreased swelling & pain, better circulation. She has been able to move around with less difficulty but still has a ways to go but we both are grateful for the improvements no matter how much cause it means it’s a step towards better health..! I’m making the decision to go back for another sleep number I knew we would not have stress of worrying about better sleep with the sleep research and technology with this system and once my other half started using it I knew I didn’t have to convince her because she would just experience it. She has been so excited and has told her family and doctors of her progress..! The best bed technology & team is by SLEEP NUMBER.Version: 5.0.5

Be prepared for the best rest every nightI have insomnia 10/10 for years and takes me usually hours to fall asleep even tho I’m tired…I have owned a Sleep Number for 8years and it was a Queen..My husband and I decided last week to upgrade to a king M7 and got the cooling temp pillows and sheets too..Let me tell you my number is 25 and his is 35 but ((WOW)) I actually enjoy going to bed now and I have slept over 7hrs since the day we got it..Compared to (4hrs) and I woke up on the 4th day with drool?!? What in the world (gross) but I was laughing bc I never had drooled in my sleep so I’m thinking that’s a great sign and I feel amazzzzing 🥰now I have bought my daughter a sleep number(she’s in college) and she’s getting well rested for her studies…My in-laws got the 360 smart bed I10 and love it..And my uncle and Aunt bought one the I8 and all are in love..oh also my hubby have been together since high school and been married 28years and our favorite bed was actually the soft side waterbed and we haven’t liked any other of the beds we bought!!! So Thankyou Sleep Number for the rest I’ve been needing ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.Version: 4.8.22

A few glitches, but mostly good stuff!First off, I love our Sleep Number bed and the SleepIQ app. After many less expensive mattresses over the years, nothing has given me the great sleep like the Sleep Number. But this is about the app, not the bed itself. So…. The app is great in letting me adjust the bed and for tracking my sleep. I love seeing how much restful sleep I experienced each night. Along with that, there is plenty of useful information to help a person make life adjustments to improve the quality of sleep one gets. With that being said, there are times when the app will think I’m still in bed or, for whatever reason, will not set the bed to the chosen number. This is usually easily fixed by restarting the app, but it is an annoyance. Also, it seems like there would be an easy way to make adjustments for tracking naps without the nap times being thrown in to the overall sleep quality statistics. Of course I just turn off tracking if I lay down for a nap, but again, just a minor annoyance. A few small additions/changes would elevate the rating to 5 stars for me..Version: 4.5

An idea on how you could add an alarm featureSo your product has been working wonders on helping get a good nights rest and understand how I’m sleeping much better. I’ve found that getting comfortable and falling asleep have become easier as continue use of your wonderful bed, but I have a game changer for you. You’ve integrated a bed time reminder into your app but how about introducing an alarm like no other. I like the idea of being woken up gently. I find that it really sets a tone for how my day will go. However this is not often a convince that’s afforded to me. It’s either an alarm, my wife or infant son making aggressive noises to jolt me from my slumber, often leaving me in a less than favorable mood for a few hours each morning. The I got to thinking what if my mattress could wake me? Introduce an alarm into the sleep number app that begins waking you fifteen minutes before you want to be awake. It starts by gently increasing the incline of the flex fit base by fifteen degrees every five minutes till it’s in the upright position. Allowing you to gently and quietly rise and shine..Version: 4.5

P5 and Flex2 new userOnly had the “system” for less than a week but very happy so far. We feel we are resting better with the adjustable mattress and frame. Have used the adjustable frame for reading in bed and watching TV. Have noticed the bed adjusting at night but it was not annoying or distracting (just something new happening as we fell asleep). The app is very impressive and the explanations in Inner Circle are both helpful and interesting. Only disappointment so far is that the app only pushes sleep times to the Apple Health app so you really can’t see the correspondence between activity and sleep in one spot unless you manually enter you activity in the SleepIQ app. Documentation says this works for one other app but had to dig to find it is only exporting the time you slept to Apple health (SleepNumber help line was not very helpful in trying to understand how this worked but I could see that they would likely be helpful with something they knew about). Bottom line is I would recommend SleepNumber. We know about sleep now than we even knew existed..Version: 4.8.22

Love SleepIQI worked shift work for over 40 years. I worked shifts that hadn’t been invented yet! 48 hour call, sleeping in a call rooms on beds that were so bad the patients couldn’t stand them so we got them. So my sleep schedule was pretty much shot. I think my Cercadian Rhythm died sometime in the 1980’s. Retirement hasn’t helped me build a routine. My significant other was a Cop so his sleep routine is pretty much like mine. I had to do something. So I got a new bed, bought an Apple Watch and started working on changing my sleeping habits. Being able to track my sleep quality and quantity is helping! I’m now getting to bed before midnight (most nights) and actually getting 7-8 hours of sleep a night. Unheard of until now. It’s incredible! I wake up and stay up. I’m not sleepy all day like before. I’m getting things done that I’ve put off for ages because I was always tired. Can’t recommend this app enough. I’m 75 and thought I’d never be able to change my lifelong sleeping pattern. But it’s true. Old dogs can learn new tricks!.Version: 4.8.21

Loving this app and bedWe’ve had our king size (split) sleep number bed with flex base for a bit over 3 months. A good amount of that time we’ve been traveling. But we are each loving getting back home to our new bed. My husband loves this even more than I do and is sleeping the best he has in years. I really enjoy the bed, though honestly, I have found that for me the flex base has been more a novelty that I don’t use so much. It actually was giving me more of a back ache (I do have existing back problems). My husband feels it will come in very handy as we get older (we’re in our 70’s now lol). Again, he loves those features. I love that we can each set our settings for the amount of firmness that is personally comfortable. And I change that on occasion. So love that benefit. I also enjoy checking in to see how I’ve slept! 😁 Though, I find myself editing my sleep session after I’ve climbed back into the cozy bed to finish reading the news etc, and I’m not actually sleeping. All in all it’s been a good investment. If we were doing it again, I would do without the flex base..Version: 4.8.40

It’s... OkayPositives: It connects to my bed to adjust the sleep number, flex fit up and down, and turn on foot warmer and light. This is much better than the incredibly clunky remote they provide. It kind of tracks my sleep. It’s convenient that I can turn on my foot warmer from another room. Cons: Lately, it often doesn’t give me my sleep IQ information fully until the following evening. For example, several times this week it gave me a very low number and said I only slept a few hours. It took most of the day for it to finalize and give me accurate information. The bed also believes I am out of bed when I am not during the night. I don’t know what it senses, but it’s not right which makes me wonder how inaccurate the rest of the Sleep IQ is. I still like the feature but imagine there are s lot of bugs in it. Also, connecting via Bluetooth can take a long time sometimes, so actually adjusting the sleep number/flex fit/accessories can take sometime as I wait for 10-15 seconds each time I go to one. Not what one expects in this world of advanced technology. Overall, 3 stars for me. I do love the convenience of adjusting my bed from my phone. I just wish the Sleep IQ was faster and more accurate..Version: 3.8.0

App works ok for one bed, but…..There is currently no way to delete a bed and to add a new bed. The new bed goes in fine, but the old bed carries forward and is unable to be deleted. The focus is on the use, your profile, rather than on the bed, meaning, this will increase the number of user profiles as you add bids. The developer needs to refocus the app to the specific bed, and then use a profile for each person. For example, I have a master bedroom that I sleep in. In addition, I own a guestroom bed. This complicates things that the software cannot handle. Add to this a bid being maintained in another location, and well, you can see my point I have six profiles now showing and I have to know which one is which. For the cost of the bed, I would expect far better programming and far better ability in the software. Another frustration with me is the fact that you search for a 2.4 G rather than 5G. This is fine, but I’m using a blended connection for my Wi-Fi between 2.4 and 5 G. It looks like my only hope will be to contact customer service or support and try to talk to a new person. On a weekend, this doesn’t work so well..Version: 4.8.22

Pretty great app needs a few tweaksI love the sleep app but It’s wish there was a “I’m going to sleep” feature or “waking up” options. On weekends I like to stay in bed reading in the mornings and some evenings it’s nice to use the bed in a sitting position to watch a movie or read a book. The app tracks that as part of the sleep info which skews numbers. You can adjust it but it’s a pain. I would love a setting that allows you to tap a “not sleeping” mode for “rainy days in bed” or reading times as those are not part of sleep cycles. I also wish you could have more than one favorite position stored for the flex bed base. I have two for sleeping. One for when my telex is acting up and my normal one. In addition. I wish you would bring back the full bed two to four inch angle I used to have a hard pad under my mattress that gentle raised the head starting at the foot and slowly increasing to the head of the bed. The flex beds raise from the middle right where my hips are so it’s flat from hips down and angled from there up. That hurts my hips. Wish it could do a full bed tilt..Version: 4.8.40

Lacks common sense featuresOverall the app does what you expect it to. Control your bed and adjust settings. The UI is pretty and animations are nice. Controls are simple and easy to understand. But after using this app for a little over 60 days, you start to realize just how much more it COULD do. Having to turn off and on privacy mode to prevent tracking me laying in bed reading a book at 4pm or taking a nap in the middle of the day on a Saturday is arduous. Simply allow us to turn on a setting that says: ignore anything between 9a and 8p. Also, why can’t the app auto inflate/deflate to a sleep number at a certain time? If the bed auto inflated to 90 a little after my alarm goes off in the morning, I’d probably get out of bed sooner. And voice assistant/siri should be baked in. I should be able to ask Siri to inflate or deflate to my preferred setting. Or tell siri, goodnight and as she automates the thermostat, lights and fans in the house, auto sets the bed to my preferred setting. It’s almost as if nobody on the app dev team actually sleeps on one of the beds, because this stuff should have been thought up and implemented long ago..Version: 4.8.30

App needs improvementThe underbed lighting option works sometimes. At other times when you get out and then back in bed the lights will go off then on, off and on, or just stay on; like it can’t figure out if I’m in bed or not. Sometimes it will randomly just come on in the middle of the night without anyone getting out of bed. Very frustrating to be woken up by the light. It is also always saying I’m offline and I have to click through all that in the middle of the night to adjust my settings. I KNOW I’m offline, I just want to adjust the bed a little. Finally, we do not have wifi that we can leave on all the time, we have no service out in the country, so we can only connect by hotspot. This is frustrating because we will never have accurate 360 SleepIQ readings. It should collect data just by Bluetooth, then if you want to share with the company it could be uploaded next time you’re connected by wifi. Seems unreasonable that it cannot collect data just by Bluetooth and that you HAVE to share with the company. Love our bed and adjustable base, but the app definitely needs work..Version: 5.0.0

Customer serviceWe have had the sleep number bed for over 10years now and last year we upgraded to a flex king option with dual temps. Everything worked fine until about a few months ago, our remote and apps stopped syncing with the bed controls. We have to unplug the power to the bed and dual temp each time we want to change the bed settings or the dual temp settings. I called customer service last week and they were very responsive and sent a new remote out. However the remote only works for one side. So we can only control one side of the dual temp and still need to unplug the bed to control the other dual temp and the bed. I will need to call them again and request another remote for the other dual temp. I can’t imagine having three different remotes to control one king bed. It’s a bit frustrating. Wish they had listened carefully and sent a dual remote out instead. If the problem is in the dual temp controller, they should replace the dual temp instead of making us have three different remotes. Hoping someone from the customer service will look at this review and make amends..Version: 3.8.0

Bed is ok, App could be betterSleep Number owner of one month and a couple of days. The app has gone offline about 5 times due to it just happening and twice due to bad weather in the area which caused the internet to go out. For this reason an app should NOT be the only method of making the bed work!! The five random times the app went offline, we were just without any tracking, and for over $11,000 for a bed and mattresses, that’s highly unacceptable! When the app is working, we can’t even prop a foot in the bed or lean on it without it being tracked as sleep. It should be able to tell a difference between a body being in the bed and an object or body part. We have the Sleep Number 360 I8 with smart base that has no remote control option, all of the beds should have an option. For example, last night before bed the app said the bed was offline, it came online around 2:30, gave me a score of 82 and told me my sleep number was 35. My bed is on 100, never slept at 35 and It missed my first few hours of sleep. Very unimpressed and there is not much about this app that is “smart” in my opinion..Version: 4.7.11

Needs a UI EngineerI love my bed and I use my phone as a remote control because the physical remote is the worst remote ever created. I assume lots of people are using the remote feature of the app. The app team needs a UI engineer. For instance, the foot warmer feature which would be used a lot is not on the screen when you bring up the remote screen — but the switch for the under lights is. You have to scroll down for the foot warmer. The switch for under lights is going to be used once or twice—people either want it or not, but the foot warmer Is an every night thing. There’s lots of things like this. The program UI is clearly written by engineers who don’t have the bed. Since they aren’t UI engineers and they don’t use the program, they don’t make good UI decisions. It’s not their fault, Sleep Number should hire a UI engineer. The program also crashes left and right now on two iPhones. It used to load and attach to the bed quickly but now there’s a long pause. The app stability get worse every time apple upgrades IOS. I wish the app would start in the remote menu instead of the info window..Version: 4.6.10

Lots of room for improvementThe app is just ok. There are a lot of things that just don’t function correctly. My biggest annoyance is when it doesn’t recognize that I’m in bed or it thinks I’ve gotten out of bed when I haven’t. There should be a button you can push that says “I am in bed” so the bed can do a refresh or some kind and adjust to you being in bed. I’ve noticed it happens most if I flex the top up. Well, I am breastfeeding so I prop myself up 2-3 times at night sometimes to feed. I’m constantly having to adjust my sleep number up and down because that’s the only way I can get it to register that I’m in bed. I have tried resetting it and doing a full power cycle multiple times and that hasn’t fixed it. I also wish the app gave more information on how the sleep iq score is calculated. There are nights where I feel like I had a great night and my score is super low, but my husband who went to bed late and was restless all night has a 90+. It should also recognize the difference between daytime naps vs. actual nighttime sleeping. I should have to go in and remove a daytime nap..Version: 4.5.10

Bed is awesomeSo far so good with the app!.Version: 4.8

App Works WellAlthough I’ve only been using the app for a short while, it is intuitive and easy to use. I can get the info I need quickly within the app..Version: 4.1.1

Nice appThis is a nice app, but I would like to see less steps. When going to bed, the last thing I want to do is fiddle with my app to adjust my bed. It would be great if the home screen was set to the bed adjustment screen instead of having to pass through two separate screens to get to where I need. If there was a way to set this screen as a favourite that would be great. I’m not interested in my sleep score every time I open the app..Version: 4.2.0

I like it.Very good app and very easy to use..Version: 4.0.2
