Crusty BeginningOk, my kid LOVES pizza and the fact his school is participating is a plus. So I did my part and downloaded the app. It’s a great way to give him control on his reading challenges, my only dislike is the fact if your child is reading books downloaded to the same device the app is on you can’t do both. This really needs to be fixed, the only way around it so that my child can get his points to play with the dragons is to leave the device on for the allotted time that he actually read. Yes, that is technically cheating, but I don’t know of another way that will give him the coin credit he actually earned. Please fix, plus it would be nice that if you are a parent of child who isn’t in a school or homeschool participating that you could benefit from the pizza certificate award..Rochelle C-RVersion: 1.0.0

Great concept but has a major flaw!I love the idea of using this app for my daughter to track her reading but the must frustrating thing with the app is it will not keep time if I switch apps and keep it open in the background. And if a call comes in while the timer is going, it completely resets her timer, instead of even just picking up where it was at! She can't get a true time off it. She loves seeing the "reward" at the end but it isn't accurate enough. So it's back to using the built in phone timer and writing down her times..LJTAPVersion: 2.2.0

Great app BUT. . . .Fantastic App and idea, however. . . Many kids/families have older devices if any at all, it is very disappointing that it is not compatible with even the iOS older than 7. It would have been much further reaching and motivating if the developers had taken into consideration that MANY cannot afford to keep up with every newest model, especially for elementary aged children. They all read at the same time, but only one child can record their minutes at a time. Only one Kid at a TimeThis app is a great idea!! If you only have one kiddo, it works wonderful!! If you have more than one, not so much. You have to log out each kid and log in the next one, with their Registration code, so make sure you keep those handy if you are going to use this app with more than one kid. I would like to see the ability to use with multiple kiddos, without having to log out each time. There is a student desktop tracker that you can use, but as of right now it isn’t up. Great app- thanks for making!!!!I am a second grade teacher and South Dakota. I think this app is fantastic. It is great to keep parents involved in such a great program to help kids get excited to read. Thank you for doing the time and energy into making this website and app. The only problem I see, is that parents are not going to be easily persuaded to have the app running the whole time, every time, the student is reading. *****When the teacher manually enters minutes read through the dashboard, this should turn into points/coins in the app. Please make this a change in the next updated version..Loverunning709Version: 1.0.0

Not great appIf this app is the only way to track for rewards can you please make it so that we can use it? I just tested it and after 8 seconds it said 20 minutes of reading was done. Worst App EverThe only reason I downloaded this app is because my daughter's teacher is requiring that they use this to log their reading. The problem is, the app times out after like 15 minutes of reading. My daughter reads for more than an hour at a time, so when she goes to click that she's done reading, when she should have only an hour worth of time, it's only at like 15 minutes. The app also closes if you get a phone call while the timer is going. My daughter had been reading for over 45 minutes, I got a phone call, returned back to the app, and had to start the timer all over again as it was back at 0!!!! What a waste!! All the time my daughter was reading and she received absolutely NO CREDIT for it. This app is a piece of crap. If it was not required for school we would not be using it. I am going to inform my daughter's teacher about these issues as it is very frustrating and I am done with this app. Do not plan on using it anymore. Needs a ton of improvement. Sadly others have reported these same issues and still NOTHING has been done about it. My daughter's class used it last year and we had the same issues, and still nothing has improved this year. Can't close the app while readingMy son downloaded the app, and it started up just fine. The problem came when our iPad went into sleep mode after a few minutes of inactivity. When my son came back 20 minutes later to click on "done reading," the app had stopped! "You left, so we paused the timer," it said. There was no way to manually log in the time either! The app needs to be able to continue running in the background while the iPad is used for other things. I am a teacher whose class is on the Book It Program as well. FrustratingMy kids read a lot. This app stops keeping track when you switch to another app or when your iPad locks. I wish it would continue to keep track. Also, my kids love to read for more than an hour at a time but the app automatically stops after a few minutes and asks them if they are still there. This is very distracting and my kids gave up using it and returned to using the stop watch on their iPads.
