The Moog Model 15 App is the first Moog modular synthesizer and synthesis educational tool created exclusively for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.

Each facet of the Moog Model 15 modular synthesizer has been meticulously recreated in this application to ensure the power and transcendent sound quality of each module remains intact. The character, harmonic complexity and mystique of the Moog Model 15’s modules, from the legendary Moog 921–series oscillators and 904A Low Pass Filter, to the coveted 907 Fixed Filter Bank have been painstakingly preserved.

In order to develop the most immersive and expressive modular interface possible, the Model 15 App has been designed utilizing Apple’s new Metal advanced graphics engine. This ensures that all zooming, panning and modular patching throughout the application feels completely natural, something that would have been impossible otherwise.

The Model 15 App features both monophonic and 4-voice polyphonic operation is easily commanded via 4 seamlessly integrated controllers. Simple swipes and taps provide instant access to a traditional Moog keyboard, 1150 ribbon controller, 8-step sequencing arpeggiator and the award-winning Animoog keyboard with 22 built-in scales and polyphonic modulation capabilities.

Also included are extended features which expand the capabilities of the app beyond the traditional offerings of the hardware Moog Model 15. These include total MIDI integration, assignment for external control, use as a MIDI controller, dedicated Audio Bridge and MIDI Bridge modules, looping recorder module with overdubbing, a master ping-pong delay module and a new extension cabinet that includes additional amplifiers and voltage-controlled reversible attenuators that can be used for effects like ring-modulation.

Because the Model 15 App utilizes Apple’s Metal technology, only 64-bit devices are supported. Compatible devices include iPhone 5s or newer, iPod touch 6 or newer, iPad Air or newer, and the iPad Pro.

The Model 15 App requires iOS version 12.4 or later to work.

Model 15 Modular Synthesizer App Comments & Reviews

Model 15 Modular Synthesizer Positive Reviews

Truelly wonderful app like all they make!Modular madness,...but I wold like to see rack options and a ring modulation rack along with a drive feedback like on the sub 37 .or a modular tube distortion drive along with it all as a modern modular option format. Maybe a modern delay with LFOs with maybe a cross modulation wheel somewhere would be nice,..and a waveform options like on there bad boy monster mooger fooger delay That would be a wonderful evolution option. Please hire me for beta testing if there is a need. Would love to test out real systems as well and help in any design ideas or programming positions. I absolutely love everything Moog! Please make a delay like that more purchase friendly maybe a small footprint design or a Bluetooth guitar fix line like Zoom made. Might as well harness the full power and potential like you do on the new analog emulations like on this 15 system it’s wonderful what has been going on. They are brilliant although keeping your analog line as well would broaden the spectrum because secretly I think we all would like to have a analog pedal it’s just not as accessible as we want and could use some breaks into the no credit check payment plan options available today. But for now many of us would go for a digital pedal that is Bluetooth and affordable if analog must stay pricey. Here’s a Cheers to Moog! Well done!.Version: 2.1.17

Dang it iOSThanks for response, yeah, Apple really needs to figure some things out. I’ve had nothing but frustration trying to use iOS as a serious tool, from issues like the cpu usage you described, to type c hubs working/not working completely randomly. I’ve wasted a lot of time and money on this iPad. I bought it to integrate into my studio, but it’s done nothing but dead stop workflow over and over, like almost every time. Started using windows again for most audio/recording needs. It’s a shame too, this hardware is fully capable. They tell me I can’t get a refund because it’s my own fault that I waited too long to see if Apple could resolve issues, so now stuck w a 12.9 inch overpowered toy that can’t be trusted to work properly under any circumstances. Sorry for my original review, it probably wasn’t fair, and now a few apps not working properly is least of my concerns, now it’s hardware issues, random resets, randomly “not charging” randomly makes my audio interface and midi controllers have seizures, under no cpu load too. Can’t narrow down these issues they are so random and completely solve themselves then return a day or 2 later. Bah....Version: 2.1.4

Simply the best.I plan to write a full review, but it’s amazing. The sounds you discover 😳that they are related to scores played in film and TV in the many sound settings. Same arps, same feel, same wow. 👊 Just started playing. Too many good words to describe it would sound like gibberish with slobber thrown in. My mouth hasn’t stopped talking about it with friends,🤩🙄 , or figuring out the infinite ways to make a sound, and bend it to your will🤓Bob did create the Monster of Sound. Unlike any other instrument in the modern age, (here it comes) the Moog formulated version of the synthesizer instrument is the most flexible, most creative due to unlimited unknown sounds within the hundreds of thousands of overlap and waves of electrical signals that ping pong, across multiple LFO’s and VCO’s, from making a complete sound of a dolphin, or the docile nature of the bell tone, it’s Bob Moog’s mind that dwarfs the common instrument creator. Don’t hesitate, buy this one first. “You will never master it, because it’s unattainable to humans, that’s what makes music so.” TM! Yeah, I wrote that..Version: 2.1.6

QWERTY controlRight out of the gate, I was completely blown away with this app. The sound, the graphics, the attention to detail Moog put into this are incredible. Operation on an Air 1 is smooth; I haven’t had any issues with cpu overload so far. But what really impresses me about this is that it can be controlled with a Bluetooth QWERTY keyboard. You can play notes and zoom in and out of specific modules without having to touch the screen... and that’s just the start. You can also control the note velocity, change presets, and so much more. The only downside is that note length is fixed to half a second unless you press tab before you press a note key (you have to then press tab twice to release the note). I wish there were more tutorials detailing how each module works, however. Tutorial wise, all you’re shown is how to set up a patch with the filter and envelopes and that’s it. Despite that, this app is definitely worth the money. It quickly became a favorite of mine..Version: 2.1.1

You'll need a 12.9 iPad Pro and external keyboardSo this synth sounds great. And the skeuomorphic design looks good. It's just a UI that is not user friendly on a regular sized iPad. With the keyboard loaded the synth area is far less than half the screen. The labels are very small, and there is a lot of continual zooming and unzooming and panning required. And also there is a lot of loading and unloading of the keyboard to test the sound if an external keyboard isn't available. If I was already familiar with the interface from using an actual Model 15, then it might be okay (and surely not many of us will have had that chance). But to learn how to patch as I go is a real pain. As is trying to analyze how preset patches are put together. At the very least I would suggest updating with the option of a smaller keyboard, one that doesn't take up a third of the screen. Or more so an alternative digital interface that fits on the screen and functions more simply. Being a slave to the original look, while kind of a novelty, is just not that functional. And I am growing fatigued of this before I have even begun to learn how to program it..Version: 1.1.4

This thing is real!OK. I play and service keyboards. I just finished servicing a 1976 Moog Model 15. While researching it I came across this App. I have a number of synth Apps already like the ARP Odessey, (my first synth) Korg Wavestation, Korg M1 etc. They all sound surprisingly good. So I was hesitant to get yet another synthesizer App. And, since I had the real thing (though temporarily) I couldn’t imagine any App could have the presence and power of this amazing modular. Of course, I had to give it back to the customer so I decided to try out this App. Let me say, this is the most astonishing synth App I’ve ever heard. I was able to AB between this App and the actual synth. Again, astonishing! That famous filter sound is there and in your face. Plus, it can play polyphonically, has a nice delay effect, the sequencer, ribbon controller, and presets! I don’t know If the larger 12.9 iPad would expose more of the synth at one time but if it does, I’m getting it..Version: 2.1.3

Can't go wrong with MoogEverything that carries the Moog brand name is just top notch and so is this app. Fantastic sounds and features and value. Great looking interface with eye for every detail. I love the analog feel and sound when tweaking the various knobs. I have not encountered any bugs myself. Unlike a lot of other apps Moog really seem to thoroughly test their software before releasing it instead of using users as their beta-testers. I won't be using names but there are some developers out there with expensive apps that make me feel like i am paying to be their guinea pigs and test their broken software. I never had that with any Moog app and i own them all. This one is already a classic in my book just like Animoog or Model-D. Thanks to the Moog developers to support the iOS platform and provide us with amazing synth apps. Two thumbs up and highly recommending all of their apps..Version: 2.1.0

Everything you’d expect from MoogThe Model 15 is endlessly fantastic. Sounds amazing. The interface and functionality is a beautiful hybrid of old skool modular classics and today’s needed functionality. Did I say it sounds AMAZING!? Great, flexible routing options. I was impressed when I could control it with an outboard keyboard via network session. I was FULLY sold when I was able to control the M15 via an outboard keyboard, easily assign cc to the same, WHILE running via Lightning into Logic Pro X..audio tracking on one channel and MIDI tracking to another. MIDI playback from Logic plays back in the synth, knobs moving and all. Quick routing change allowed me to have the MIDI track in Logic playback and “reAmp” onto another audio track. Long story.. long... the Model 15 is a real deal performance and studio Moog; well worth every penny. I hope Moog keeps going and brings the DFAM or similar into iOS..Version: 2.1.3

Just Like The Real Thing (Almost)I’m really impressed with this application. The visual component of the application is really impressive and makes its use easy and comfortable, and strangely familiar. The modules have been engineered to create sounds that are remarkably similar to the original hardware released in the early 70s. I had the good fortune to work with Moog hardware, including the Model 15. I was easily able to recreate patches I first made on the hardware more than 40 years ago. The arpeggiator is a breeze to use, and a welcome inclusion. The playability of the keyboards, and the ribbon controller, makes it a wonderfully expressive instrument. I look forward to delving more deeply into programming. If I had one request, it would be the ability to remove unused modules and add to additional instances of others. That way, if I needed an additional envelope, or another VCA, it would be a simple thing..Version: 2.1.1

Amazing app!!!I have always loved Moog and was very excited when I found this app. As far as people complaining about needing a 12.9” iPad Pro, they’re just being picky and complaining unnecessarily. I have a 10.5” and 9.7” iPad Pro and it works fine. It is a soft-synth after all!!! 😏 To get all these great sounds for this low price is phenomenal. I connect this app to my MacBook Pro via the midi configuration and control it thru Reason 10 and a Novation Controller. Everything works great. I play the sounds on my controller, record the midi, edit modulation and use the iPad for final tweaking/moving cables while recording the final audio. All around, it’s a must have app if you love moog sounds. If you want more room you can by the USB to lightning adapter, plug in an inexpensive midi controller and play the keys that way, giving you a little more room to access the knobs/cables, etc..Version: 2.0.3

Favorite music app!I really love this app like none other. I spent my life looking at pictures of Keith Emerson’s monster moog and wondering what all those wires did. Now I know! In a practical sense, it is my go to synth app because: 1) the software is rock solid. Works as plug-in to every DAW I try with no issue. 2) it’s more versatile than others. Most synths are hard wired in ways that allow for common setups, but you can’t change them. This let’s you wire up sounds that others cannot dream about. 3) I personally like following the wires to find a setup, rather than remembering how a switch or setting affects something else. Learning curve is higher than some, but all the presets really help. That’s a luxury Keith Richards didn’t have when trying to figure it out 50 years ago..Version: 2.2.19

Aliased, Yet PlayableMoog Model 15: The App has set out to do the impossible. It's not going to be possible for any software to ever avoid aliasing. That said, if you're willing to lay down your sword and give this experience a chance, you'll find it to be quite playable. And if you've ever played around with VSTs that attempted to model this kind of a synth in the past, you'll have a lot more fun and be more satisfied with the audio. One of Moog's killer features in their iOS apps is the ability to touch a knob with one finger and as long as you don't let that finger off of the screen, you keep control of it. By doing that to a lot of knobs selectively over time one can gain a kind of invisible orchestra of control that just doesn't happen in the hardware world. What would give this app five stars? 1. There's some sort of swipe action that switches between the keyboard(s) and the ribbon controller. Boooooo. Get rid of that. Y'all, that's where I'm trying to play this slip n slidey thing. 2. Legibility. I know the original hardware was black with white labels but perhaps an inverted color scheme would help? I agree that it's rough on the eyes sometimes. I borrowed a huge iPad pro from work and was amazed that the modules still didnt fit at a comfortable size. BUT the ability to "latch" a touch eases the frustration. Again, give it a chance.Version: 2.0.4

Many sounds on this are better than what I can get on my collection of real analogsThe title says it all. This has a lot of what real analog has, texture, 3D dimensionality, and it's very musical and it's what the ear expects to hear, the way I would expect a Moog to be. For how much this delivers, the price is a practically giving away the Moog tone. I have a Minitaur which is very, very good in terms of giving the highest quality that real analog can sound, and I have a Werkstatt. Again a very analog sounding analog. This software for many sounds is on par with those, not all timbres when the three are simultaneously compared, but there's many patches in this modular software I would use over those. That says a lot since those two real a Moog analogs are some of the most analog analogs I've used..Version: 1.1.4

You Set the Gold Standard!Great user interface and menu control, I look forward to understanding the Model 15’s controls to realize its near infinite sound potential. One small suggestion if I may be so bold, could you include a button that may be pressed, perhaps sounding middle C, that can be used to hear what one is creating short of opening the full keyboard when setting up the Model 15? Perhaps this already exists and I’m simply unaware of it, then please accept my humble apology. You have certainly set the bar high for other instruments to follow! I want to thank you for making the experience of using an actual Model 15 available to users like myself who would never have the opportunity but for your kind generosity..Version: 2.0.1

I have a time machine!I'm a 72 year old synthesist. Oh. My. Goodness. This is, first, an amazing effort by all Electronic Music disciplines to create a finely detailed WORKING instrument. An instrument that I played and performed with the original version on stage during those crazy Moog '70's gigs. Second, it's all here! All the CV modules! It's surreal! The voicing is just so sweet...and that is just playing it solo for, well, hours! I'm joyful that, after 50 years I can experience this Model 15 but also the Model D plugins for my DAW. Whether toying with my past musical memories or exploring new combinations and settings, searching for that sound that stirs the soul, THIS is THE synth modular you need..Version: 2.2.20

Incredibly deep and useful.I’ve had this for about a day now and have not been able to put it down. The synth sounds great for being an iphone app - a lot better than many of the software plugins out there. I’m using this on an iphone 7+ so I have to do a lot of scrolling and zooming, which is expected. The GUI is crystal clear and making patches is pretty easy as well. I think an area where this app could be improved is in the tutorials. Being new to modular synthesis, I enjoyed the two tutorials that show you around but it would have been nice to have more tutorials showing you how to make basic sounds (drums, saws, pads, ect). That being said, as an educational tool I think this app is well worth the money and makes learning about modular synths a lot of fun. Best synth on the app store..Version: 2.0.6

Would give it five stars but...This thing is so much fun, especially on a mobile device. Learning to patch a Moog system has been a very rewarding experiance, which has produced a bunch of really awesome sounds. When I turned off "ECO" mode the sound gained a little extra sparkle that reminds me of my analog gear! I love the clip recorder too so I can make little james and save them to sample or chop up in my DAW later. HOWEVER: the dots on the knobs are so tiny that it's difficult to see the position sometimes even on my 27" screen, let alone on a mobile device. It makes this beautiful synth a real chore to use sometimes. It's such a problem that I decided to dock two stars. It's that bad. Moog should take notes from Arturia's designers, who have solved this problem already on their Moog clones..Version: 2.2.25

Affordable Moog PowerI love this app. I have lots of experience on a MiniMoog and I've wished for a Moog Modular system since the early 70's./ The sounds are amazing and there is nothing quite like Robert Moog's early oscillator designs, mixers, and filters. Last year I sunk about $6000 into a huge Behringer System 55 synth, which is as close as I'll ever get, but this app sounds just as good.... for less lol. I do wish that the app could shrink down just a bit more so I could see the whole synth at once. Not willing to rotate my 24" monitor 90-degrees. Still exploring but I give this 8 our of 5 stars... deduct a half star for not shrinking, so, 7.5 of 5 stars. Great job Moog. You're my hero..Version: 2.2.4

Great App!Great sounding emulation of a classic modular synth! Includes some great patches which can be easily modified or studied to learn modular synth sound design. Sound quality is extraordinary. I like that Moog designers included the Animoog keyboard which makes it easy to play expressively in a particular key. The arpeggiator has been great to work with; simple but capable. It's nice that the recent update made the app audio unit capable, but being pretty CPU intensive, most hardware would have some difficulty keeping up with more than a few iterations of Model 15. It would be nice if the included tutorials would go a little further. Perhaps something to look forward to in future updates..Version: 2.0.4

AMAZING!!Ok, so I’m primarily a guitarist who over the last few years has got into piano and synths more. I’ve had Arturia iMini for a while, I use the Alchemy synth in Garage Band and Logic, and even recently bought Model D app as well. But this (Moog Model 15) is just mind blowing. I can’t praise it enough and although I’m on an iPhone X, (now I really want a 64 bit iPad) I am having so much fun with this and learning so much about synthesis too. My phone is plenty powerful to run it like butter as you can imagine but I do want to run it on an iPad... The sounds are just sooo fat and deeper? than any other soft synth I’ve ever heard, it’s just a joy to navigate, and experiment with! Seriously if you are thinking of trying this just buy it. I think a real Model 15 is $10,000!! So this is an absolute steal. I’m running a pair of cheap studio monitors and using my old Korg digital piano as a midi keyboard for this, all connected via a Korg plugkey (that’s awesome as you can charge your device while playing). All I can say to the Moog developers of this app is Bravo! I’m blown away!.Version: 2.1.3

Love it, would love to see a sub phattyHahah!! Although I will never be able to afford a model 15 as long as I live. I love this app and it’s great for learning patch building and hilariously enough basic synthesis. It’s an infinitely complex machine yet as hands on or hands off as you want it to be. All of that said I would love to see synths like the model d or the sub phatty made available in app form. When considering a synth you like to be able to play it first but I don’t have a store available so I can’t test it. Also, Moogs are too precious to be display models. I would adore a sub phatty or model d app to persuade me over the edge to buy..Version: 2.0.2

IncredibleThis is the absolute best sounding analog modeling synthesizer on the App Store hands-down. I have all of the big ones and this is the only one that has surpassed the Arturia iSEM which was and still is my favorite. It's still my favorite because of its interface. It's the best. But as far as sound quality and authenticity goes the Moog model 15 is the unequivocal winner. The filters, the effects, the oscillators, they are all spot on and second to none. Nobody can do this like Moog. Buy this app. Work this good deserves your patronage. They work hard, have good hearts, and that's why their stuff is so good..Version: 1.1.4

Amazing for the priceSince the original Model 15 listed for around $10,000, I consider this $30 emulation to be quite a bargain. I've already learned a ton about modular synthesis by going through the tutorials and the sound is huge too. It's a bit cumbersome scrolling around the front panel but given how much functionality is packed in here, it's a minor problem. Also, the CPU demands are very high so close other apps while using it. Anyway, thank you Moog. I just love it this thing!.Version: 2.2.10

Worth the $9.99I’m glad I bought this app. I had my eye on it for a while. I pulled the trigger when it went down to $9.99, and I don’t remember what it was before that, but I do know it was a good deal. I’m obsessed with synthesizer apps. I make all sorts of weird, probably useless, tracks with them. Between this, AniMoog, Filtatron, apeSoft apps and GarageBand I may never leave the house or even look up from the screen. The only downside is the ‘swipe’ feature of the arpeggiator is rather touchy and it sometimes interferes with making a patch or adjusting a parameter. Other than that, I love the way it looks and sounds..Version: 2.0.2

No substitute for perfectionI wish I could afford a real Moog. But honestly....this is a fantastic substitute. Buy this app, plug in a midi controller, some good phones or monitors, purchase all the additional presets without thinking twice because they are all amazing. Period. Have a drink...get lost in modular synthesis and you will instantly feel like your part of an elite secret society of music creation. Before you know it...the sun will be setting and 8 hours have gone by and it felt like 5 minutes. Well worth the price of admission. Thank you for creating this. ❤️.Version: 2.2.4

Absolutely Stunning!I am contemplating getting into the expensive realm of modular Eurorack synths...after searching for a modular app I saw lots of people mentioning the Model 15 - it’s not fully modular like soft tubes vst but it has enough to get you framiliar and get your feet wet. The sound capabilities are absolutely mesmerizing as is the sound quality. You get 10K plus worth of capability on your iPad. It is almost enough to bring a tear of amazement - god speed to moog and the devs because you have done a huge service for all the people who get to use this app🤗.Version: 2.1.3

Great concept but a couple bugsFor starters this is a really cool app. It looks great and sounds even better. Sometimes the wires are a bit cumbersome and don't connect and disconnect when you want them to or connect with out you meaning to make a connection. Also, tutorial 2 gives you an impossible patch that try's to make you connect an input to an input 💁🏻. It's more then a typo too. It shows you where you're supposed to connect the with arrows and everything so that was kinda weird. I wish there were more tutorials as well but only if they actually work lol.Version: 1.1.4

Amazing sound quality, great fun and an excellent way to explore synthesis with kids.Very impressed, from my first MicroMoog to the Model 15 App, Moog has never disappointed. This app is an excellent modernized replica of the Model 15 and it stays in tune without any fiddling under the hood. The Logic plugin works flawlessly and it's wonderful to sketch out patches on my phone, finalize them in the Model 15 App and then bring that same patch into Logic later for use in tracks. Roland, Korg & Yamaha should all sit up and pay attention - this is how you do an App/Audio Unit..Version: 2.2.4

One of the bestI have over 50 music apps on my Apple devices and this is easily in my top 3 favorite. I haven't really dived much into building my own patches but tweaking the presets has made some of the best sounds I've heard on ios. One suggestion: I'm interested in getting some of the sound packs, however not really sure where to start. I think it would be super useful to have sound samples for each pack so you can hear each style. Please think about that as I’d love to see what they have to offer..Version: 2.1.3

InspirationalIf you are starting out with synthesis programming, be sure to watch the tutoriala, very well done. As a plugin, I can't change the size and find it hard to work with as the print on the synth is too small and a bit out of focus. However, I am able to run it as a standalone external synth with Ableton and it works just fine, scalable size and clear focus. I have a ton of software synths available and this and Animoog Z are my favorites, by far..Version: 2.2.20

Moog knows whats upCome for the history, sit down and listen to the story, then prepare to not spend your college fund on a hardware version of these synths. Ok, thats a little exagerated. BUy these Moog sound Apps. Animoog is my favorite by far, but these are a close second. So well done. So complex. Intimidating.... wait, is this a good thing? We'd all prefer knobs and switches, but this will work well with any number of controllers out there. Arturia comes to mind. And they won't go out of tune..Version: 2.2.16

Best sounding soft synth I’ve ever heard...now to just figure out how it all works ;) luckily the presets are amazing and it’s not too hard to get a unique sound. Pretty intensive on my little ipad air2, can’t run much more than a host at the same time, but it pairs wonderfully with my OP-Z to fatten it up. Would be nice if there were a option for a more linear, less hardware view of the routing, but probably would prefer the modular view anyway. No real complaints, it’s my favorite soft synth by far!.Version: 2.1.18

MidThe sounds are great. It’s way to much of a hassle to patch though. Even controlling parameters is arduous on this graphic interface . I will enjoy it for its presets but can never see myself programming this thing. The point of the original is to have everything visible and immediately accessible to you. That is not the case with this app and perhaps can’t be. Scrolling and scrolling while trying to hold a patch cable is a lot.. So as long as you go into this with lower expectations, I think you’ll be alright. I will enjoy it as a collection of presets..Version: 2.2.28

This App is So FireI can’t get off this app. Amazing for being on the road and missing your synths at home. I have a 16 voice Moog One at home and got this because I wanted to start learning modular and I miss my synths :( and this thing sounds KILLER. It’s a blast to mess around with and is absolutely worth it for the price in my opinion. This is the first app review I’ve written in years because this thing totally took me by surprise..Version: 2.2.10

Hi ... Welcome to Nirvana and LoveIf ever I was to get a Moog, now I know which one it would be. The sheer patchability of this synth is just unbridled maddness of joy. The joy of joys, like giving birth to sound you've never heard before and it's yours. That's powerful stuff, and did I say fun? Don't forget, just scroll down, and hit record when you've got yourself a patch in a good base tone with this synth. Then just start turning the knobs and explore. Then repeat and keep playing some sweet tones. Tones of fun... lol....Version: 2.2.4

Superior Sound Quality and Depth of FeaturesThis is as close as almost everyone will be able to get to these sounds. It unbelievable how close to a real moog filter this has, and the sounds are just amazing. The controllers and routing options are heavenly for a sound designer/electronic music enthusiast. A must have for any electronic artists/sound designer. The learning curve is necessary for anyone trying to get into synth design, modular synths and moog synths in general..Version: 2.1.19

One of the best Apps for IPad PERIODI’m a long time professional musician and educator and honestly stayed away from production for a long time due to never believing in the capabilities of synth apps but this is by far a gem. With the quality of the sound out of the box, the exquisite Interface, and the Audio unit extension in the DAW this is a masterpiece of an app. Tried it for 3 months before i gave in and bought the packs and I was not disappointed. WOW.Version: 2.2.4

Looks & sounds beautifulWhile other apps are mindlessly following the flat & ugly fad, Moog Model 15 has an absolutely beautiful GUI that takes full advantage of the graphics capabilities everyone else is squandering. Then there’s the sound and technology here. I don’t own any Moog hardware, so if this app demonstrates “the Moog sound”, I like it. Yes, the GUI is a little unwieldy (the larger the iPad the better), but there’s not much that can be done when replicating a device such as this (the actual hardware looks just like this app). I also wish there were more included presets and more tutorials. Even without more tutorial content, I’m slowly learning more about analog and modular synthesis because of this app, and I recommend it as a synthesis education tool..Version: 2.1.3

Can I please get a refund. This is such an incredible app but it’s just too hard to use for me. I tried to go through all the tutorials and I still couldn’t wrap my head around it. I’m honestly sorry for buying your app and requesting a refund. Again, really cool app that I can use for Garage Band IF I knew what I was doing. If I don’t get a refund it’s perfectly understandable but it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you..Version: 2.1.6

Learning mod synthsI got this because I didn't want to pay 20$ on some modern synth app that's going to come w presets, that I can only use some of and then get tired of. This is the synth to get. I'm learning how to use it still, but it comes with presets you can load and mess with so u don't have to build everything from scratch. Go look at the Roland synth app reviews. It's not easy to pull off something this..Version: 2.0.6

InterestingLike the sounds, but expansions need to have some type of way to audition the content. I am looking for a bank of brass sounds but I can’t tell which expansion can use most to this. Make the details more clear to users by offering some type of audio preview or rendered song to give us a better idea of the expansion content.Version: 2.0.6

Moog Model 15Moog😎✌🏿. For creative minds. So glad for thee opportunity to be able to enjoy a library of Moog sounds in software format. With the right effects -maybe layer with your choice- and a good mix this baby will have you grooving. I hope more sounds (bass, strings, FX) will be listed for all Moog apps, for a reasonable cost and I’m all in! 2021...Version: 2.2.10

Great, until the new iPadThis app has been part of my core tools in mobile music-making since it was released, but that all changed with the new iPad Pro 12.9” 1TB model. Constant pops, clicks, and distortion are making it unusable. Here’s to hoping that gets fixed soon. If you’re using an earlier iPad, this is a must have. For those with the newest iPads, I’d wait to see if it gets updated..Version: 2.1.3

This is a great app!On any platform, ok bit of a challenge on an iPhone. But hey you can make it work. I love the clockable delay also sounds amazing. But since iOS 11 updates the UI glitches and generally responds poorly. Navigating through sound presets is most easy to spot the poor responsiveness. This app used to be flawless and sound amazing. I hope we can get this fixed or I kinda wish i had my old IPhone 7 and old model 15 back. Fingers crossed..Version: 2.0.2

Oh my.To leave an accurate review on Model 15 you would have to try everything out. There’s too much to this thing. So far the modules, navigation & patching all work flawlessly. Visibly gorgeous. I play an EWI and the model 15 is responding to aftertouch without any hiccups or glitches. Mr. Geert, you and the team have created something special. Thank you!.Version: 2.0.1

UI doesn’t fit right on 12.9” iPad ProFirst this is a great sounding and looking app .. good enough for pro studio work. My only quibble is on my 12.9” first and second generation iPad Pro’s when you scroll the the synth panel up and down it jiggles from side to side a bit, another words if your finger moves at all side ways while you are moving the panel to get to the knobs you need the panel also moves from side to side .. just a minor annoyance to us OCD types..Version: 2.1.18

Amazing !My name is Raymond Romain, and I have been collecting analog synthesizers for 40 years, but never owned a module synth. Also, I decide to purchase a Mother 32 in the near future, but decided to purchase your virtual Moog model 15 first to learn how to synthesize on a module synth first to get my hands wet, and let me tell you, not only do I love your virtual Moog model 15, it also, exceeded my expectations. I feel confident now to purchase my Mother 32, and also, add this user friendly, well thought out, and beautiful warm sounding virtual Moog model 15 synth to my studio as one of my go to synthesizers. Wow, thank you Moog. Thank you, Raymond Romain..Version: 2.1.20

Anxiously Awaiting Mac VersionI love it! Thank you for creating a universal version of this wonderful app. Unfortunately, though I’ve purchased It for iOS, it is as yet not available under “previous purchases” in the Mac version of the App Store, as promised in the promotional materials, with the App Store listing a price for the download..Version: 2.2.4

Best app ever!!!This will be my first app review because this is the coolest app ever. Thank you for creating an iOS version of this synthesizer. It sounds amazing and works great in my studio for music production. If you are interested in creating some amazing sounds (with a little bit of work), you will have a blast with this app. Enjoy!.Version: 2.2.0

Du fun...Soyons bref... que du bonheur en déplacement.Version: 2.2.23

Again, far past impressive in their imitation!Dr. Robert Moog along with Serge Tcherepnin (Serge modular) and Don Buchla are still to me, the greatest original commercial modular synthesizer manufactures! I’ve been familiar in person with the Minimoog, since I were 12 in the Fall of 1975. That sound, man! After working with many Moogs over the years after, including the custom Moog II 1/2 formerly owned by the Rainbow Theatre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada - being able to own, work with and hear the Moog 15 through my Sony MDR-7506 headphones, has taken me immeasurably past aural joy! 😀😊👏🏻👏🏽👏🏻👏🏽 Thank you endlessly peeps at Moog, for this incredible reproduction and modification! My only big wants now, are a Moog reproduction, of the 960 sequencer! (My combination of the Moog 960 Play / Stop / Skip (step) switch per step, with Ken Stone’s (CGS) interpretation of the Serge 8 step sequencer, allowing each switch for BOTH forward and backward) along with parch cable jumping, from step to step - together - was probaby one of the best live step sequencers tha I had ever seen. Sure miss THAT one! :( ) ✌🏻🖖🏽🇨🇦.Version: 2.2.20

Best app for the technically inclined. For the ones that are afraid to plug and unplug connectors and experiment, it comes with a lot of preconfigured combinations that are already generating super-sounds. Bravo Moog !.Version: 2.2.20

WowNever in my life would I have thought I could get mood quality sounds with my phone, honestly deserves a standing ovation in my opinion. While it can be a challenge to us a small interface it’s beyond fun and really is a nice way to learn these systems before financially diving in. Thank you to the Moog team always come through with something stellar. I think Bob would have been truly proud of these apps..Version: 2.2.19

Unbelievably GoodI would want this even if I wasn’t a musician or into synths. It just sets the bar for how great iOS apps can be..Version: 2.2.16

Moog. model 15.You just can't go wrong. it would be one thing if it was monophonic.... but it's poly. why have any other synth on your computer/ipad/iphone ? jk, there's good stuff out there. but this easily tops them all..Version: 2.2.14

Great self teaching toolWanted to learn Modular and this just made it easy..Version: 2.2.14

All Moog apps are fantasticJust buy it. It doesn’t get any cooler than this..Version: 2.2.14

BoutoBUST is all that i am going to cap. Thank u for this (chef's kiss)..Version: 2.2.14

Yes it’s Quite complicatedUnless you have a working knowledge in sound. I personally find it exhilarating to horse around with these cords it’s so involved and if you do actually want to know how to make sounds property and understand what you’re doing the tutorial is phenomenal. It’s step by step guide will lead you through every aspect of the unit and you can complete them at your own pace as many times as you please I’m beyond amazed at this product gold star guys five actually.Version: 2.2.7

Sensational! The Model15 app is very well constructed and sounds amazing. And now that I can use this on my M1 Mac mini, it’s become my absolute go to :):):) I’m extremely hopeful that moog will make the same move for M1 based Mac’s with my other moog apps, especially for the model D..Version: 2.2.7

Mac PortLove the port to Mac OS however when you use a midi keyboard with the App you dont see the note feedback on the instrument itself..Version: 2.2.4

ExcellentMy Intel Mac struggled to make this plug-in work at all. However, my new M1 Mac has no trouble running this in Logic Pro. And it sounds great..Version: 2.2.4

Best sounding synthI love the sound and all the great tutorial patches to learn module synths based off the classic. Great value and love the patches that are available for it..Version: 2.2.4

First time on a Mac! NICELooking forward to the great sounds this app makes but played on my Mac into Logic Pro X..Version: 2.2.4

MoogularThis app is neat. Makes me feel like a scientist..Version: 2.1.19

Worth every penny. $$$$$Best app I have seen yet besides the Animoog and model D.Version: 2.1.3

👀👀👀👀👀This is a rabbit hole I am very excited to fall sooooo deep into. A little disappointed with the depth of the built-in tutorials and would have loved some high quality videos made by the team but as a testament to how carefully crafted and powerful the app is there are videos out there by skilled modular darlings to break my brain with all the magic herein. Thanks Moog team for helping me realize my modular dreams without the expense and expanse required to get the real thing..Version: 2.1.3

Crackles are fixableYou can just load a preset an fiddle with it to get rid of crackles and also this app is so good I used it on one of my gigs it got the crowd pumped thanks!!!! 🙂🙂😃😃😀😀👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼.Version: 2.1.3

Amazing soundMan I love this app. It’s user interface is actually impressive to be able to get around something so complicated on an iPhone. Labelling gets hidden with cables which is maybe annoying but once you get to know where stuff is it’s a minor issue. So. Much. Fun. And it integrates perfectly with other ableton link apps. I use it with Korg iELECTRIBE a lot. Fantastic. Haven’t used much presets yet as I’ve been building my own but I’m sure they rock. Great job Moog. What an achievement..Version: 2.1.3

So much fun!I very much like what Moog as done with the interface. I’m impress with the versatility of this seemingly simple machine. And the sound is huge! Like a Moog..Version: 2.0.6

I-Phone X compatibility issuesThe keyboard is at the bottom where the (home swipe button) is which makes it nearly impossible to play without interruption. The cables are difficult to interact with, even when I’m zoomed in. The reason I’m giving 3 stars instead of one is because the sounds are fantastic and the presets are abundant. PLEASE UPDATE THE SOFTWARE FOR 5 STAR REViEW :).Version: 2.1.3

Awesome, however..for the moog guys.Awesome, incredible app. Still a few issues with inter app usage with impc, however it hasn’t been used since the update...Version: 2.0.6

Must HaveEveryone having any interest in making music at any level must get this app. It is special in so many ways. The developer went all out to make it a classic. It has more than everything and way more. The help is incredible because it teaches you how things work and interact with other apps. The explanation is understandable by beginners who know very little about modular synths. Bravo to everyone involved. This app was clearly created by a top of the line development team. A Moog masterpiece! Thank you..Version: 1.1.4

AstoundingThat Moog has managed to bring the modular synth world onto my iPad Pro is absolutely mind-blowing. Thank you, thank you, thank you. An astounding implementation..Version: 1.1.0

Absolutely superb!I LOVE this app! It is so versatile, and so pleasingly old-school. It really makes you aware at a very fundamental level of what sound is, and how it can be shaped in infinite variety. Excellent work by the folks that created this app..Version: 1.1.0

Fantastic ModelI own a Moog System 15 and this sounds remarkably Moogy. It has the sound and the patchability to ignite some great tracks..Version: 1.1.0

Awesome intro to synths! The tutorials are bare bones but give you a good idea on how to start following along. The presets show off what you can do. The interface encourages mucking around until you do something cool. And it all sounds great!.Version: 1.1.0

Family: Mother-32, Minitaur, Model 15An amazing companion to my moog family, it is so enjoyable to work with an real analog synth on the bus! I love animoog and i really really love the model-15 app. Well done on dumping the graphics to the graphics processor to make room for the processing power analog needs! Flawless, stable, reliable. It is in my live set now! Thank you so much for an amazing app!.Version: 1.1.0

A very real simulationI love this little beast. Having had a little studio time with an actual model 15, this is a great learning tool and also a wicked standalone instrument. This is so great. The sound is warm and not digital sounding. They've done an excellent job at mimicking that golden analog warmth. It's very advanced. I love the inter-app audio implementation allowing for separate voices for 4 separate inputs in your destination app. (A tiny mixer at the outputs would aid this little gem of an ability) thanks moog!! Love you guys!.Version: 1.1.0

Beautiful.Classic synth at a reasonable price. I could play with this for hours....Version: 1.1.0

A monster on iOSStraight to the top. Thank you Moog. Well done. Edit: Confirmed, best iOS synth I've used. And thank you for the updates!.Version: 1.1.0

Amazing, amazing, amazing!I own a LOT of iOS synths and this is the most complex, powerful, good sounding and intuitive one I own. A no-brainer buy if you are serious into iOS synths and music making! Props to you Moog!.Version: 1.1.0

A Wonderful Sounding InstrumentMoog Model 15 is a wonderful sounding instrument. Yes it's true - you can't tweak two knobs with fingers at same time, and for now there's a limited number of modules. But with those boundaries set, you're getting a soft synth that rivals many VST/AU on OSX. Model 15 handles audiorate FM well and even feedback. I use mine on iPad Pro, and in portrait mode, it's one big tangible and beautiful soft synth..Version: 1.0.3

An amazing synth, and an amazing learning tool.I can't claim to be any kind of expert, but this synth sounds spectacular, works really well, and is a wonderful tool for learning how modular synths work to assemble interesting and/or dangerous sounds. (Seriously: don't experiment while wearing headphones until you're reasonably sure what you're doing!) The Model 15 app shows just how incredible iOS devices are for professional audio software. I've not seen (or heard) anything else like it. As a bonus, the MIDI implementation is state of the art and works particularly well with expressive controllers like the LinnStrument..Version: 1.0.2

WowSeriously good. This thing actually feels real..Version: 1.0.1

Modular heavenThis app is a beast for routing capabilities, very authentic and comprehensive.Version: 1.0

Great day today😀👍🇺🇸So surprised to have this awesome app today and so excited to hear about Trump!.Version: 1.0

It is Moog. They eat and excrete only the good sounds.I don't really understand some of the patching concepts involved with modular sound synthesis. I do understand great, phenomenal sound, and that is what this offers. If you make music, that is always where you should start. The interface is a little slippery and hard to come to terms with how exactly to interact with it...think Ukulele slippery. It just needs some viewing options and maybe a little...glue. Brilliant work...and as an iOS App at this price, it should be..Version: 1.0
