Fitbod: Gym & Fitness Planner App Comments & Reviews

Fitbod: Gym & Fitness Planner Positive Reviews

Great alternative to expensive personal trainerThe fit bod app at the beginning when I started like 5 months ago was seemingly out of date, through this past 5 months I’ve seen great improvements to the ai generating my workouts. The only thing that could make this app better is more personalization ability for the user like simple small things for the user to feel that this app is a customized and tailored for the user. That could encompass the users ability to change the color of the background, seasonal theming, or even something as small as changing the sound of the alarms the app tells you to move on to the next set. A problem I face using the app is once the work out is started you are not allowed to navigate the rest of the very limited app unless you end your work out, and then navigating the homed page you see your list of work outs / body composition / goals / and logged works. There should be a tab or something to locate your personal records with out having to individually look all of them up. Lastly the forcefully promoting your app when your trying to just show friends and family your workouts via the share button needs to be stopped just promote your app on the photo card itself don’t type out a long promotional ad at the bottom of the text box. Over all this app has helped me big time to get closer and closer to my fitness goals and will be renewing my yearly subscription again(which is like 200$ cheaper than a real personal trainer)!!!!!!.Version: 6.46.0

Great App That’s VERY CustomizableI love using this app for my strength training. The developer did a great job making it user friendly, customizable, and effective. It gives me way more customization options than any of the other apps I have found, and I have tried a lot. You can get your profile to beginner, intermediate or advanced, and you set your goal of toning, building, etc. You can then customize almost everything….workout time, muscle recovery %, gym equipment you have, exercise you can’t do or want to exclude from workouts, you can swap exercise within the workout for a new one, and the list goes on. The app also provides you with a short video demonstration of each exercise when you click on the exercise within the workout. It is nice to have in case you need a short demo or reminder, but it doesn’t get in the way if you are a more experienced lifter and don’t need it. The app will give you weight and rep recommendations based on your profile settings, but you can change them within workout if they are too hard or easy during the workout. And, it automatically updates the reminding reps in the set when you make a change which is nice. I really can’t say enough about this app. I am not new to working out, and have worked out regularly for many years. However, in my opinion this app would be good for someone who knows proper form but hasn’t lifted for awhile or someone more advanced that is just looking for an app to make sure they are getting a well rounded strength workout..Version: 4.39.1

Great App for ConsistencyI have been working out on and off since high school (30 plus years). However, finding the consistency and motivation has been challenging. I have read countless articles about different weight lifting plans and have tried / failed at most of them. Fitbod, however, changed all of that. When it comes to using this app, I never have to think about what exercises I should do because it does the work for me. You are able to pick workout types based on preference. For example, push/pull, upset body/lower body, full body, etc. each exercise is also explained and demonstrated to cover different learning styles, visual, kinetic, etc. the app keep track of what you did in the last workout and applies weight suggestions which can always be Chandra up or down depending on how you are filling. There is also a countdown between sets and finished workouts can be posted to different social media sites, Strava for example. Yes, this site does make suggestions to share the app with others, to post personal records, etc., in an attempt to attract more users. But, it’s simple as hitting the X or saying no if that’s not your cup of tea. All in all, for what you get, the paid version is worth it to mr and, after my year subscription is up in the next few weeks, I will be re-upping for another year. You can tell they put a lot of thought into this app and this is my jam for sure. Consider giving it a try. Be a better you like I am becoming a better me!.Version: 5.12.1

Good but not great enough to pay for...yetI’ve used this app for one week which granted is not a lot of time. However, it is long enough to see some glaring errors. The app has a lot of really great exercises for beginner to advanced fitness levels. There are very good, very clear directions with a video accompanying each exercise to make successful execution quite easy. The problem I have on my iPhone Xs and my Apple Watch Series 4 is that the app on the watch and the app on the phone don’t seem to work in perfect synchronicity. The idea behind the watch app is that you can use it to cycle through specific exercises within a set or superset while your phone sits idle in your pocket. The problem on the Apple Watch app is that you have the choice only to log an entire superset and move onto the next superset despite the fact that you may only be on the first set within a superset. It’s annoying to have to go back to your phone to login individual sets so that you don’t clear out the entire superset and move onto the next exercise. I’ve had this issue every day since using the app. Also and on a more minor note, when setting up the initial free 30 day trial, I had to install, delete, and reinstall the app three times before I was able to begin the free trial. These are just a few examples of how this seemingly very strong app is still a bit glitchy in areas of basic user interface. A little fine-tuning and I would recommend it even at its $10 a month subscription..Version: 3.9.1

Took 2 weeks and now love itI’ve been using the app for 4 weeks now- at first I was excited to get started but let down quickly for personal reasons, not the App per-say. Background - I work with a trainer at the gym and do a push-pull workout 5 days a week with cardio. Of course the trainer works around my injury and recovery... I had wrist surgery last year and still have limitations, for example can’t put body weight on it and can’t do any type if push up yet. So frustrating!! Now, with not having the gym nor my trainer available and fast forward 2 weeks- I’m loving it! Found the perfect workout regimen for me within the App! I really had to play around to see what would work best for me with my injuries. I tried to set it to push/pull but without gym equipment there isn’t much push you can do.l without push-ups, which I can’t do....So was getting frustrated with the workouts. I tried different settings for 2 weeks and found one that is working around my injury!! I love that I can customize the app - exclude exercises I can’t do, set the type of regimen and equipment available or that works for me. The app changes up the exercises, this prevents me from getting bored and keeps my interest with my at home workouts right now. I can truly say I get a better workout then the gym at times - I’m sweating, my heart rate is up and I feel fulfilled at the end of the workout! I’m going to be using this when the gyms open back up - this is my own personal personal trainer!!.Version: 4.3.1

It’s time to reviewI’ve been using this app for about 6 years on and off and I find myself coming back to it and recommending it to other people. Some of my favorite things: You get to create different gym profiles, I personally have one for at-home workouts and for gyms that I go to. Because of this, you won’t get recommended workouts with equipment that you don’t have. While working out, you can easily replace a workout if you want something else and best recommendations are given based on what you are replacing. If those recommendations aren’t enough, you can scroll through a whole bunch of other workouts based on what muscle group you are replacing. If a specific machine is being used you can also rearrange the order of your exercises and come back later. The rest breaks are timed so you can stay on track on when to get on with your next set. I usually look at my upcoming workout before heading to the gym and edit the workouts based on what I know works for me (workouts that are easy on my lower back) and I can even set the app to stop recommending workouts that I know I won’t ever do altogether. I do wish there was a pause button on the app just in case something happens and you have to stop working out for whatever reason, the clock keeps going. I’m weird about logging exact times that I worked out. But you can go back to edit workout duration time. So is it really a con? Anywho, I love this app. I recommend if you want your own personal trainer for cheap or are running out juice to keep going at the gym..Version: 6.43.0

Love the app but…Firstly I love the app. It’s a little expensive for what it is, and how little has changed since I started using it over a year ago. That being. Said I’ve been inconsistently working out over the last few years and this app has finally helped me be consistent. I like the gifs that show me how to do a workout, that has been really nice and has kept me safe. The main issue I have is that sometimes I forget to end my workout. This wreaks HAVOC on Apple’s Fitness rings. Even if I end workout>disable sync with Apple health>edit workout duration, I have to resume and refresh the workout, end the workout, then turn on the switch for sync Apple health for my rings to update on the Fitness app. It always gets my calories right but it KILLS my workout minutes. It logs them as 299 minutes, despite the Fitbod app showing a 1 hour duration. This is not fixable on Apple’s side without deleting my entire health history and starting everything over. Trust me, I’ve tried to get in contact with engineering and deleting workout data and adding it back in. Nothing works. Secondly my main feedback is to please please please let me edit the workout duration WHILE I’m working out. Whether I forget to start my workout right on time or forget to end it on time, I shouldn’t have to jump through so many hoops to try to “fix” my workout duration. Even if I fix all of the data in Fitbod and the Health app and the Fitness app, my badges for my Fitness app are screwed and unrepairable because it’s pulling the “hours” of workout data from somewhere..Version: 6.35.0

Great for dynamic routinesI’m enjoying this app. It gives me time-boxed routines for the gym and keeps exercises “fresh” by rotating based on target muscle groups and their estimated recovery/fatigue. You can also ask certain exercises to be recommended more often or less often (or not at all), and swapping out for a different one based on target muscle group is a nice touch. It would be 5-stars if it weren’t for the Apple Watch syncing issues. I like leaving my phone in a locker and running everything from my watch, which was easy with competitors like Hevy or Strong. Sometimes the watch app freezes during a rest period (timers don’t animate, buttons can’t be touched) but will fix itself after the timer is done). The most annoying is that occasionally my workout will not sync with Apple Health when finished. No big deal, right? Just “resume” from the phone and stop it again… but then it renames the workout to the same thing every time (in my case “Lower body day”, even though the targeted muscle groups may be completely upper body). Annoying when looking back through a week to see several of the “same” workouts in a row. It also occasionally re-orders or creates supersets of the sets I already did when doing this presumably because the option is “resume and refresh” which maybe should just be “resume”. Also, provide an option to just update a logged workout’s details to allow editing of sets, reps, order, and workout title, etc. without inserting any “AI logic”..Version: 7.16.0

Awesome, makes me stick to it. And Some suggestions.1 year subscription, no regret after about 2 months. It’s nice to have a gym profile where dumbbells and machines are available and my home profile with only a band. It’s great to exclude any exercise that requires a machine your gym doesn’t have. I thought i’d never have time for manually entering each and every reps & weights when i used NTC, turns out i have and i enjoy with this app. Now i have some wish list items. I rarely depend on the app’s recommendations. So i spend usually around 30 mins to prep my session the day before. And after 2 months i notice the empty space between exercises is huge, so i have to scroll rigorously, adding exercise is possible only at the top, so i have drag it down all the way, and sometimes moving exercises up and down is buggy and inconvenient. And you need to bundle and unbundle the supersets countlessly because you can’t place a single exercise between 2 supersets or circuits, just by dragging it. Dragging one exercise through different circuits will soon cause an error, so i have to be careful and save it frequently. So i’d like to save my workout, then what happens it that the app randomly seems to force me to create as a new workout, won’t let me just rename it. Gmail has compact mode & cozy mode. I’d love to see it in the app. I wish building supersets and circuits would be just like using the iOS Files system, or something much more intuitive and fast. But, as mentioned at the top, no regret in subscription, i’ll be using Fitbod thru 2019..Version: 3.9.2

Great app with some small flawsI thought about giving this a 4/5 but then decided the flaws didn’t take away too much from the experience. This app is very beginner friendly. It gives you an activity and tells you sets/reps/weights and what muscle it focuses on. It even gives you videos and a description to help you out! It does cost $80 a year to use which I found to be a fair price for how much I wanted to go to the gym (3-5 days a week). You can customize your equipment or even set some activities to be recommended more often, less often, or not at all. After an activity it will ask effort level for the lift and use your response for the next time you do that lift. Overall an excellent app for people who want to go to the gym with out the hassle of trying to think of exercises on the fly. The one negative of this app that I’ve seen in about 2-3 months of use. You need to be able to set a max weight for most/all of the activities. I mostly work out at Planet Fitness, it’s not always ideal to have to locate 6-8 45lb plates to put on the smith machine for calf raises. If you could set the max weight at 180lbs (4 plates) and it could compensate by giving you more sets and more reps in those sets it would be a huge bonus. Same for the stand alone machines, the hip adduction/abduction machines max out at 260lbs. The app is telling me to do 285lbs which is impossible. Sure I can manually adjust the weight but how do you compensate? An extra set? 1-2 extra reps per set? If you could tell the app 260 is the max weight that machine can do then it can give more sets/reps instead of higher weights..Version: 5.25.0

Been using for over a yearBeen consistently using for over a year. However the app has failed to help me progress. I’d like to offer the following thoughts to keep users coming back. First it’s great seeing all the trophies for achievements. However I got an injury that has set me back. And now when I open the app, it’s sad to see that I can’t progress because I’m starting at lower weights and reps. This happens a lot to people, getting injured, even from something unrelated to the gym. I think the AI being able to acknowledge someone having an injury and adjusting their workouts or being able to reset achievements would be helpful. Also I would pay extra for more form tips. Watching the how to videos help. But how does the home gym goer know if their squat is in good form. I have friends that until they got hurt, did not realize they were doing the movement wrong. Some times I try to lift too heavy and catch myself using supporting muscles to get the weight to move. There’s another program (hinge health) that uses motion insights to watch the user do the movement and gave feedback. That would have its place -just to be able to check out my form on different hinge movements, where alignment can get off. It would be great to have all this in one neat app. Overall I will stay with this app but would love to see a more personalized AI version with more features that address physical limitations, age, health conditions and really give the user a sense of a custom to them feeling..Version: 6.48.0

Great toolOverall it’s a great app. Not too expensive for a years worth. It’s helped me a great deal as I’ve lifted before in the past but never been terribly knowledgeable of how to do exercises properly or even which muscle groups to do etc. personally having a personal plan to stick to is what helps me stick to working out and so far this app has helped me I’ve been going consistently for a month. My only complaint is that sometimes it seems to ignore your equipment particularly it always wants to do bands even if you say you don’t have it. The initial stating your experience doesn’t seem to be a great start for it learning your initial weights. It will be like okay squat 50lbs which I could do that all day. But then be like okay let’s bench 170lb which is like my max on a good day. It would do better to start out with an assessment either asking you want you can do. Or basically each time you’ve done a weight for the first time have you keep increasing each set until you can’t or so the max effort thing the first week to get a better picture of what you can do. It just took a lot of manual tweaking to get the app to learn my weights. Oh and the last thing is the supersets can be rediculous sometime. Like it will ask you to lift 20lb immediately for 50 on the bar which tbh I’d prefer the same weight (unless I was at the gym and had access to any weight instantly ) or one time it needed a superset Bench press they. Immediately do a bench crunch where you have to move the whole dang bench out. It seems like the AI isn’t aware of optimal supersets in terms of comvience and ease of swapping.Version: 6.31.1

Revolutionary idea - still some more work to doI really like this app a lot. It has an intuitive interface, and gives me challenging workouts that I look forward to every day. Like a lot of other people, this app has also exposed me to many exercises I wouldn’t have otherwise tried. I know that I will continue to use and enjoy this app for a very, very long time, and for that I thank the developers. The reason I gave 4 stars is because there are still some bugs that I feel need to be worked out. For example, one workout had 2 exercises that were both “max effort” days on the same muscle group. Maxing out one muscle group on a given day is taxing enough, but maxing out the same muscle group twice in a day will give you inconsistent results. I’ve also seen very strange weight/rep recommendations. For example, I maxed out one exercise at 13 reps for 50 pounds. A couple days later the app wants me to do 15 reps for 40 pounds. That’s practically maxing out again. Besides that, there are lots of little bugs that I’m sure will get sorted out over time. For example, the timer beeps are inconsistent between sets (sometimes it’ll beep and other times it won’t). I also wish you could tell the app that you don’t have fixed barbells. Most barbells are 45 pounds with no plates on them, yet there are barbell exercises in the app calling for 30 or 40 pounds, which is impossible. Again, I’m sure this will get sorted out in time, but they are still a minor annoyance..Version: 4.10.0

Almost there!Technically, I’ve been using Fitbod for roughly a month and a half, and I love it! However, I find that there are a couple of small things that would really elevate this app and make it so worth the $10/mo price tag. I was just about to buy the premium version at the beginning of last month when I had an unexpected medical issue crop up that affected how much physical activity I can do. I’ve slowly gotten back into the gym and have been learning to work around my limitations, but as much as I love the workouts Fitbod generates for me, I can’t do a lot of the movements. It would be really nice if there was an option for more chronic injuries or physical restrictions where you could specify that your right knee is recovering or maybe your rotator cuff has never been quite right, and workouts could be adjusted accordingly. Of course, if someone has a more temporary or acute injury, then they should just be resting, but working out with longer-term limitations can be a struggle when the rest of your body is well and able but one piece isn’t one hundred percent. Other than this one thing that just came up in the past month, there are very few things I don’t love. I do wish there was an option to log other workouts, so the app knows how much recovery certain muscle groups actually need, and I do wish there were some options more than just weights/strength training—though I’m under the impression that there might be, and I just haven’t found them?—so all in all, a really great app!.Version: 3.24.1

I love whoever created this so much***9 month update: I ended up losing 40 more pounds using this app and am the strongest I’ve ever been in my life. I wish I’d had this app in the army, because it has saved me from the hip injury that got me medically discharged. I can even run again now! Strength training is the way to go and this app helped me 100x more than that trainer ever did. *** I was a member of a personal training gym for 6 months ($700 a month for 3 workouts a week). Having a trainer was great; I built muscle and lost fat (20 pounds total weight loss). But once on my own, it’s been a struggle. I didn’t know what exercises to do together or how they affected my body. I saw this app on an Instagram ad and while I usually take a peek at fitness ads, I ultimately never download or buy a subscription. They’re almost all the same, don’t do much for you and are expensive. This app is EVERYTHING. Jeez- for the price of Netflix, I could’ve been using this app from the beginning and seen the same results. You still have to put in the work, but this is the best tool I’ve found so far and the price is amazing. I bought the annual subscription and am very pleased with my results so far. Great, customizable workouts that take all the I’m-confused-and-don’t-know-what-to-do-so-give-up out of it. This app partnered with a cheap $10 Planet Fitness membership may very well be the best thing to ever happen to me..Version: 3.16

I like This Alot , Except . . . .Im a beginner when it comes to working out so i tend to be in the gym not knowing what to do just pretty much in there hopping from one machine to the next so i love the fact that this app (been using for about 3 months now) gives me my full workout . From start to finish so im not just in there trying to figure out what to do next . Love that it shows yu how to do it as well as what area of the body the exercise is actually for. My only downfall is that because im a beginner i would expect all my workouts to be beginner friendly. They most certainly have beginner friendly workouts but when im starting my workout and i see the workout they put together , i can never just go thru with the whole workout because im constantly replacing the one they put in my workout. For example , it may tell me to run for 20 min on the treadmill and ill have to replace that because its no way as a beginner that yu can run for 20 min straight (well i cant) or another one they always have be do are pushups but i always have to replace that with the one where yu can be on ur knees or just a completely different workout. So its not something that would make me not continue to use this app its just that if my workout is for 1 hr 30 min it then becomes way longer than that because i constantly have to stop to replace the really tough workouts that they have me doing. Only reason why i gave it 4 starts , other than that , would be a 5 for me🙂.Version: 3.23

LOVE this app....but....Okay let me start off by saying I LOVE this app. I just take like 5-8 mins before my workout to log in everything I want to do. You have the option of telling the app what machines and weights you have available and it will give you ideas for workouts. You can make multiple profiles too. So, for example, you want to use it at the gym and home ....well you probably have different equipment at home than a gym. So you can create a home profile to tell it what equipment you have at home. And then another profile where you can use it at the gym with their equipment. The instructions and videos are very helpful as well for those workouts you don’t know very well yet but would like to try. It has made me sooo much more efficient instead of wandering around between sets wondering what to do next. The ONLY complaint I have (and why I didn’t give 5 stars) is because they don’t have as many different workouts as I like (for example, kickboxing and heavy bag workouts to name a few) and you don’t have the option of adding it. Other apps allow you to add your own workouts that aren’t listed in the app. Soo if any app developers are reading this right now ....please fix it and I will use this one religiously instead of bouncing between apps. It would really help eliminate competition because other than that feature, the app is unbelievable!!! And I would change my rating in a second to reflect how I feel.Version: 3.22.1

Goodbye PlateauI’ve been lifting since I was 16. I worked in a gym through college and didn’t have a problem staying fit/built. Then, real life happened. I worked a professional job, got married, had a kid, and skipped the better part of a year working out. I’m highly motivated so getting back to work wasn’t difficult. The real problem was that I am not 37 and my body doesn’t snap back to 100% like it used to. With that being said, I am determined to be in the best shape of my life or die trying... Enter Fitbod. Fitbod got me out of my comfort zone and forced me to do exercises I’ve not done in years or, I’m some cases, ones I have not done before. I’m finally, after the better part of a year hitting weights like crazy, seeing some major gains. I questioned the formula at first but as I fine tune the weights and number of reps I’m finding Fitbod to be indispensable. With all that being said, the only improvement I could recommend is to pair supersets in a way that is efficient. Sometimes similar exercises are paired which is okay unless they use the same piece of equipment that need rearranged (and can take a few minutes to strip and reset). This is really my only complaint with the app. It’s really great otherwise. Also, the synchronicity between the app and the Apple Watch needs some serious work. They don’t always know what each other is doing or has done..Version: 3.22.1

Super excited but somewhat sad!I had always struggled with feeling confident at the gym especially with coming up with sound and effective exercise plans for the day during peak gym season. I work 9 hour days and can only hit the gym if I would like during peak night times, and often times I’m struggling up to come up with work out ideas and end up not making the most out of my time at the gym. I think that is where the feature of this app really shine through. I would recommend this app to those who need a little help with creating and tracking their exercise plans and progress! Also, you’re not indefinitely locked into the plan and you can swap/replace exercises if you would like. I believe the best feature is the instruction videos that built right into the app. The achievements after a workout are also a bonus! It’s nice to cheered on. Also, with the help of this app, I really get an idea of what muscles I am working out and I am able to check my form without being super self conscious because of all the instructional video. I was so excited to start incorporating this into my regime and hopefully kickstart myself into consistency. Unfortunately, the $60 annual is a bit too much for me to justify at the moment and knowing what I could save with the annual single payment versus the monthly has me hesitant to go down that route. I suppose I’ll just have to go back to using without until I can budget out for the annual fee..Version: 3.8.4

Good, not greatI gave the app a try on the free side and I gotta give it a mixed review. Part of me wants to use it and a part of me finds it pointless. It’s a decent app for tracking workouts, but the workouts provided aren’t all that. There’s a weird superset fetish with the app that makes it really annoying to even make your own routine. My favorite part has to be the soreness tracking, but it’s a bit redundant if you have a solid workout plan already. I think if you’re getting into fitness, it might be good enough to get you comfortable at the gym and with working out. However, if you’re an intermediate or advanced lifter, this app is pretty much replaceable with the notes app and a stopwatch. Also worth mentioning the rest timer is beyond annoying with its increments of time. Exercises like calf raises don’t require a lot rest time and the options there are odd numbers (going up from 15 seconds by increments of 10 so you can’t even select 30 seconds). I have to give it a 5.5/10 considering it’s a decent way to track soreness and get into fitness, but is also a bit redundant and easily replaceable. It’s also under $7 a month so it’s not egregiously priced if you follow the workout plans provided. However, if you’re sticking to a consistent routine for 3 months (which is what I do) then it’s a bit useless. You can buy better workout plans for cheaper and replace all the other functions easily. However, there is merit to it, just not for me..Version: 6.20.0

Great app for beginners!I never review iPhone apps, so this is kinda meaningful. This app is awesome! As someone who has messed around in the gym before, but ultimately just did the same exercises every day and not seeing results, this app is a lifesaver. I just put my headphones in, turn the app on, and go. When I go to the gym I don’t like to think about what I’m going to do next, and this app takes care of that! You tell it what you want to do (I’m doing a strength-training program), what your gym “level” is (I’m a beginner), and it creates a workout for you based on how long you want to workout for and for what muscles are “fresh”! This is especially great, because I typically workout 4 days in a row, so sometimes some muscles are way more sore than others, and the app knows that. I have used this app to keep my same weight, but start to put on some muscle! I have even caught my wife checking me out, which she hasn’t done in a while. All-in-all, this app is fantastic as a personal trainer that fits in your pocket. Yes, it does cost at most $10/mo (they have yearly plans for $60/year), but honestly that’s way cheaper than a trainer and this is basically doing the same thing. Definitely check this app out, if you’re a beginner or even an advanced gym rat! This will put together whatever kind of program you need, and if you stick with it I guarantee you’ll see results!.Version: 3.24.4

Great, but missing weird featuresThis app has been great for tracking and logging fitness progress. There are a ton of positive things and I definitely recommend it to any and everyone. That being said, there are a couple features that are either missing or I’m unable to figure them out. I workout from home and have limited equipment, I only have one kettlebell, but the app doesn’t let you choose a quantity on the equipment you have. So it schedules exercises that require two kettlebells which I then replace with other exercises. Not a huge deal, but it gets annoying when I have to do it multiple times for one session and for consecutive days. I have a pull up/dip station but it does not allow me to do neutral pull ups. It’s either overhand or underhand. The app doesn’t give an option for that, it assumes that if you mark a pull up station as available then all of the different pull up variants are doable. This is another exercise that I have to replace. Also, V pull ups - I don’t see the equipment as being something that can be marked (I don’t have the equipment) - another exercise I have to replace. Body weight exercises - great, except I don’t have a weighted vest and haven’t ever seen that as an option in equipment. But the app sets reps of pushups and body weight exercises with weight added. I don’t have a way to easily complete these, and I don’t have the weights that it wants (17.5 or 22 etc). So these are another set of exercises that I have to replace. I just want to be able to hit start and complete my sessions without first having to audit everything..Version: 6.21.0

ExceptionalAfter a six year break from the gym due to back and neck surgeries and a diagnoses of being wheel chair bound within 2 years, I decided to get back in to the gym and prove them wrong. Insearched a lot, read so many reviews of 30 plus apps, found and settled on Fitbod. I have spent most of my life in and out of the gym and have never seen the results I wanted. I have been using Fitbod for 6 months and it is amazing. Signed up found my local gym in the app, it downloaded the equipment list and created a perfect workout plan that has yielded results that I could have only dreamed of. It regularly changes ilmy routine, keeping me and my muscles learning new exercises or variation of old exercises. I have lost 8 inches in my waist, gained tons of well defined muscle mass, and even with my injuries it always pushes me without killing me lol. My wife has now started using it and in a month has lost 1/2 inch in so many places and is already looking more toned. She has never been able to stick with a workout, but she loves this app and is really pushing herself. At 54, I did not think I would ever see results like this again, but here it is and I am amazed, humbled, and so extremely thankful for the developers creating such a great app. Worth every penny, and has given me my life back. A sincere thank you to the team of Fitbod..Version: 8.20.0

Mixed reviewsI have mixed reviews about this app im a premium subscriber. While I do like this app there are certain things I would like added or changed. First I do like that it’s gives you a detailed video on how to do each work out I think for beginners that are just starting to workout and don’t want to look stupid in the gym doing workouts wrong it’s very helpful to see the right form and detailed explanation of breathing and tightening techniques. I like the tracking of workouts and how they change your workouts throughout the week and show which muscles are fresh to be worked out and which ones you have just worked out through the week to give a rest. I also like how if you really don’t want to do a work out you can replace it with a workout you feel better about. How ever it is to hard to do this and if you don’t know the name of the machine in your gym or workout you want to do it’s to difficult selecting a work out scrolling down to the video to see what it is then if it’s not the right one having to go all the way back select another workout ( that might not be the right one again) then repeating the process if it’s not. There should be a video next to each workout to show a snapshot of that workout so you don’t have to take the time selecting and reselecting workouts. I also feel like for 10 dollars a month it just doesn’t do enough for me when it comes to tracking workouts and progress. Needs more features for what your playing.Version: 3.8.4

Fantastic App for the beginners and the busyI’ve been using this “Fitbod” app for about a month now, and I have to say I absolutely love it. I highly recommend it for anyone like me, who doesn’t have time to make up and track a detailed fitness program for themselves, or anyone new to lifting. Every exercise it plans for you gives a detailed description of the movements and a video of the motions, so you’ll never be lost or unsure about what you’re doing. 20 workouts in so far and I’ve yet to repeat the same exercise twice, yet still activate every muscle group multiple times a week. Helping to keep things interesting, but in the long term, prevent plateau’s and stagnant progress. There is a subscription fee, but between the daily custom workouts, active muscle fatigue tracking, archived logs of all past workouts, and multiple customization features depending on personal preference and equipment available to you, it’s well worth it. Plus it links to Strava and Apple’s health app if you’re into that sort of thing. I never cared enough to give a review to an app before because that’s stupid, but this app has been a very pleasant experience for me, and I figured I should recommend it before everyone drops of their New Years fitness kicks because I actually look forward to checking this app and checking what my next workout has in store for me..Version: 3.8.2

Best workout app everIf you have access to any kind of gym or even a small amount of equipment, this is pretty much the best money you can spend on an app. it’s super intuitive, customizable, and removes all the friction of planning and dreading a workout (especially if you have ADHD/anxiety or other MH issues that make going to the gym both harder and more important for wellbeing!) it’s super satisfying to see your progress visualized in charts and reports. I used to use it for home workouts with just a few dumbbells and bands, then when I got a full apartment gym I switched to trainwell for a year which is similar but matches you with a trainer to program your workouts. while it was helpful to have a real person, I’d find a lot of the time each workout had one or two things I dreaded doing and that could easily turn into avoiding the gym entirely. fitbod is so easy to stick with because you can easily swap out anything you hate. it’s also a LOT cheaper and has the option to talk to real coaches (though I haven’t felt the need to use that feature - all movements are explained thoroughly with videos). you could argue that I’ll never be truly fit if I avoid bulgarian split squats forever.. but ultimately the best exercise is whatever you can stick to! I’m stronger and happier so I consider that a win!.Version: 8.15.0

Love all of the featuresI started using Fitbod in June 2018. Getting back into a workout routine as a mom and night nurse seemed impossible and overwhelming with three kids, an out of whack circadian rhythm, and limited time but I needed to do something for my health and to manage stress. I invested in home gym equipment over the years but never stuck with anything. I literally had to dust my weights and bench. I came across Fitbod while searching for an app to help me organize my workouts, give me some accountability, and some structure. It’s been a total game changer. There are so many helpful features that I love. It took the overwhelming planning me. Fitbod put together my workouts, according to the equipment I had, and was a great way to stay accountable. The instructional short how-to videos and explanations are great for beginners. I used these frequently to review form and ensure I was using the proper technique to avoid injury and get the maximum benefit. The timers for rest periods, superset builders, recovery log, max effort days, I love everything about it. For a busy mom with three kids, lifting with Fitbod took the stress of planning my workouts away and has allowed me to stay organized and progress! This transformation led me to health coaching and Fitbod is something I recommend to anyone looking to incorporate fitness into their routine..Version: 4.21.0

Great app, update Iwatch integrationI’ve been using this app now for about 4 or 5 years, on and off as I’m not a gym rat. Love the app for generating workouts and then quickly adjusting to what I actually want to do. It tends to pick up on my favorite kind of lifts depending on my target muscle while also introducing new lifts. It’s fun checking the box on each and being able to track progress. The log is also quite slick to look at and keep track of how often you hit the gym, the green color on the calendar just hits different and feels good. Overall a loyal guy to this app and it covers everything you need. I did recently get an Apple Watch, and I find the integration between the two to be simple in general. It’s nice to not have to open my phone (except when adjusting lifts which is fine, I think there should be a pause button and ability to remove/add sets though). My only wish is that the app would a) pick up workouts I complete via Apple faster. For instance, if I run I need to track it via Apple instead of Fitbod otherwise it leads to writing issues between the apps (and tracking cardio is simpler via Apple) so would be nice if it refreshed more quickly. And b) would pick up on other activities I do via Apple. For instance, I frequently do at home hiit workout videos where it’s difficult to plot out in Fitbod the workout so I track via Apple, but that “functional workout” won’t write over to Fitbod. In addition, sports won’t either which is a bummer. Getting a general log for those would be nice to track in the app (I don’t like apples monthly tracker). Could just be labeled “workout” and record the time and calories and that would be simple and great..Version: 4.24.0

Best Fitness App!I’m an ex powerlifter looking to tone up my bulky muscle into something more lean and, well, feminine. The thing that floors me about this app is just how much you can customize it to your preferences! When you open the app, it asks the basics: age, gender, height, weight, y’know. Then it asks you what your goals are for fitness: do you want to bulk up? Get lean/lose weight? Bodybuilding? Are you training for powerlifting? Are you training for Olympic weight lifting? Then it asks how many days a week you want to workout (and for how long), what your experience level is, what equipment your gym has (dumbbells, barbells, machines, etc.), and from there it customizes a weekly workout plan that’s perfect for you. And if your preferences change, like if one day you want to just do a bodyweight workout with no equipment, it lets you do just that in the settings! The more you workout, the more the app adjusts to your limits so that you’re neither whipped to the bone nor walking away feeling like you waisted your time doing nothing. It’s as if I’ve found a personal trainer that fits in the palm of my hand!! It’s only been the first week I used this app, but I’m already so thrilled with how well it’s made that I’ve subscribed to the $60 a year plan. This app is well worth it in so many ways. It even lets you add recovery and warm up exercises!.Version: 3.15.1

Fantastic App That Needs One ChangeThis is an amazing app. I was paying $150/month to work with a trainer online. She was great, but the workouts I get from Fitbod are even better. A trainer doesn’t have the time to constantly design new workouts and new stretching routines for you. The AI keeps things fresh without sacrificing good strength-building progression. And of course you can fiddle with each workout to make it perfect for you — changing exercises you don’t like, shortening or lengthening, de-emphasising a muscle group that is more tired than the AI assumes, and so on. I can honestly say I look forward every day to seeing what the AI has designed for me. And I’ve seen considerable progress physically in the month I’ve been using the app. So you don’t think I’m actually working for the company, I will offer one criticism: the app’s resistance-band design is terrible. Bands are a key part of my home workout, but the app makes them very difficult to use — they are organised by colour with fixed weights, instead of simply allowing you to enter the weight you are using with the bands like you do for dumbbells and barbells. That’s ridiculous. Colours differ between products, and if you aren’t using precisely the amount of weight Fitbod’s preset bands use, you are out of luck. For example, there is a 45kg band and then a 64 kg band, with nothing in between. So apparently you are just supposed to keep doing 45kgs with particular exercises until you can jump up 9kgs all at once. That is bad app design and so easily fixed, but Fitbod seemingly refuses to do it. (I’ve emailed them multiple times.) That problem aside, I couldn’t recommend the app more highly..Version: 4.28.1

Good but could be betterI did my first workout with Fitbod today. I really enjoyed the workout itself as I could pick which muscles I wanted to workout and it would generate the exercises for me. The exercises didn’t repeat, supersets were available, there is a built in timer, all of which I loved. Also available to add on are warm up and cool down exercises that are automatically generated for your muscle groups that you’re working out that day. And it shows you how to do each exercise/stretch. Can’t wait to see how my next two free workouts go before I consider subscribing. The one downside I’ve noticed while trying to log the weights I used— for the mini loop bands and resistance bands, the only way to log weight is based on their specific band colors/levels of resistance and I have bands from different brands with different levels of resistance to them, so I would like to be able to insert my own level of resistance for workouts rather than the preset ones. Also, the colors of the bands in the app don’t match up with the colors of the bands they sell on the website. This should be reconciled to at least match the ones that the company sells IMO because then I’d be more likely to buy the ones that match the app. This isn’t a huge deal as I just matched the resistances, BUT it’s an easy fix the company should adjust..Version: 4.32.0

This is the best workout app. Period!I have been working out for a few years and tried different fitness apps. They were all limited in some way and did not really work with my lifestyle or ended with injury. I finally did a Google search for a workout app that is customizable and flexible and found this app. I love this app so much because I travel a lot and for the first time in years I have this app that lets me set up custom gyms in it for the hotels I end up in and regardless of the equipment (or lack thereof) I can get my workout done every day. I am now working out 7 days a week as a result! Also, the other apps had me feeling muscle pain from going up weights abruptly and then plateauing at some point. This app has some AI algorithm that adjusts your weights up and down and both written and visual instructions making it super easy for me to maintain good form and keep going up in weights without too much muscle pain, zero injury and no plateauing. I feel myself just getting stronger and stronger. I think the only thing I would want it to do is to have an option to track my treadmill run without having to set up the time and miles ahead of time. Even with that, this app is head and shoulders above all the other apps out there. This is the one!.Version: 7.8.0

An almost perfect home fitness appI’ve been using Fitbod for a couple of months now and it’s proved itself to be worth the money. I’m fortunate to have some equipment at home, all I needed was some guidance on what to do with it. Fitbod has given me exactly what I needed and I’m seeing (and feeling) the results. It costs the same as the cheap gym membership I had, but gives me a plan to follow that is working better than a gym membership did. The functionality of the app is flawless. It gives you a lot of flexibility to customize your workout if you want to change the exercises that it generates. The navigation is easy and it integrates with Apple Health and Fitness. It provides a good post-workout summary and helps keep you motivated by letting you know when you’ve set personal records. Overall, I’m happy. My only gripe is that, while this app won’t let you forget about leg day, it seems to neglect chest and triceps exercises unless you manually change the muscle groups you want to work out. It’s easy enough to fix that, especially since it shows you how your muscles have recovered since you last worked them, but the point was to have an app that would guide me through full body fitness. For that reason, it falls just a little short of perfect for me. Regardless, I’m still happy overall with the app and plan to continue using it for the foreseeable future..Version: 4.18.2

A month in and never going backI have been trying to get into working out for around 2 years now. I struggle with social anxiety so going to a gym and not knowing what to do or if I’m doing it right had been a BIG struggle. I had settled for 10 minute workout videos and running until I had a friend recommend this app. I’m OBSESSED. The algorithm works different muscle groups each workout so that I’m not doing just an “arm day” or “abs day”. Also, throwing in different exercises each day keeps me interested AND has proven to help my muscles. I love that you can change reps or weight for each round of an exercise as well. The videos and descriptions work perfectly to describe/show the correct form for the exercise. This not only helps my confidence in public but is super important for a beginner (to learn the correct form that is). As a student, it’s also really nice to be able to change gym profiles for at home/at summer apartment/at school. VERY handy. I also loveee the Apple Watch compatibility (calories don’t count unless they’re on the Apple Watch!) I’ve only been using the app for about a month but I am shocked at the amount of muscle i have added. This app really is like a personal trainer and adds room for personalization, the perfect mix..Version: 4.28.1

I WANT to love this app...I’m a fitness professional. MS in exercise Science and an exercise specialist. For the casual gym goer looking to expand their repertoire in the gym and have something keep them accountable and organized, this app is wonderful. It’s user friendly, right to the point, and highly intuitive for just about anybody looking to get in shape. My issue is this. I got this app because of the convenience and the peace of mind knowing that I can follow the given workout and be confident that I’m doing all the right exercises. But I don’t have that convenience and peace of mind because I’m OFTEN finding myself trying to configure the workouts beforehand, quite thoroughly. The workout plan comes up and it gives me exercises that are just not conducive to a good workout. Meaning, why would I do an isolated movement, 3 sets of 6 before a heavy compound lift for 5 sets of 12? That makes no sense. Unfortunately I have to do a lot of the thinking myself because the algorithm provided just spits out workouts based on a flawed system. It doesn’t know what I know and how I would configure my workouts so in order for me to work better with the app, I’d have to sit there and configure every exercise. And makes sure you save the workout because any setting changed without saving the workout will completely throw out everything you just did. Frustrating when you’re on the fly. Anyways, good app, just can’t love it..Version: 3.3.1

Best on the market, room for ImprovementI really want to give this app 5 stars. No other strength training app has come close to the user experience of Fitbod for me. It has helped me tremendously with staying more consistent than ever in my fitness journey over at least the last six months. The written and visual instructions for exercises are bar none. The workouts continually keep you challenged with right amount of variability. If a piece of equipment is being used by someone else, I can swap for another one. If an exercise is not agreeing with my body, I can swap for another one. My first critique is the app continually changes my workout settings. It appears to be a bug. Customer success was unable to resolve this for me. It’s annoying. My second critique is, a while back I reached out for personal training advice and I never received a response. My last critique is I would like to see is stronger training and nutrition recommendations according to one’s specific health needs and goals. It’s nice to see the predetermined options to select from based on one’s fitness goals, but I think it can be even more personalized. I’ve been working my way out of “skinny fat” for a while and it would be nice to see a goal feature that focuses strictly on body recomposition. If that’s already an option, then it’s not made clear. Thank you for considering my feedback..Version: 6.35.0

Affordable and Practical with ResultsA year ago I began my fitness journey determined to better understand my body and perform exercises that would help me to reach my goals. Like most beginners I had absolutely no plan or structure, but this app gave that and more. The workouts are designed to fit your desired goal based off of your available equipment. The ability to personally tailor my workout program to any setting has allowed me to workout out practically anywhere. The pandemic has forced me to workout from my garage but in the past year I have accumulated more and more plates, dumbbells and equipment while simultaneously updating my available equipment on my app to set workouts and honestly I have had no need to join a gym. You will get stronger and you will see results so long as you stick to your goals and follow the apps instructions. My technique and form has improved tenfold and my strength has increased making every day tasks seem like nothing. I could write a whole essay on why you should download the app but it is definitely worth the trial and subscription if you are serious in pursuing any workout program. This app is a perfect supplement to any workout program or goal. 10/10 would recommend..Version: 5.1.0

Life-changing!!!Been using fitbod for a year and a half, just passed 170 logged workouts!! I had a near-death experience 2 1/2 years ago and found myself the weakest I’ve ever been, and close to depression. Didn’t want to fall into that pit and continue declining. Knew I needed some kind of tool because it’s difficult to figure out what to do on your own. I started out with such light weights and the most basic movements. Since I have continuing medical treatments I have to take it slow some weeks but it’s so simple to adjust workouts, change weight or number of reps. I kind of got in a rut but found the feature that mixes up your exercises more and it’s literally so fun to have variety. It’s a quiet app which is nice since I work out early morning when everyone else in the house is still sleeping. Just the small noise for the timers. I work out three days a week and take brisk walks at least four days a week. My body is my no means perfect but I’m extremely proud of my progress and i’m stronger now in my 40’s than probably any other time in my life. I don’t pay for a lot of apps but Fitbod is absolutely worth the cost! Kudos and a huge thank you to the developers and everyone on the fitbod team!.Version: 8.10.0

Comprehensive Workout App!My foundation is in starting strength barbell strength training and I then do accessory work for bodybuilding. Currently, push/pull/legs split. This app has all the exercises a beginner, intermediate, and advanced lifter could ask for. I’m sure with updates and customer reviews they will add more exercises to the library. It’s great for calculating volume and calorie burn. Notably, the calorie burn can be worked into your daily diet and calorie count so you can factor your workouts into bulk or cut routines. The app is very easy to use, customize your own workout, supersets, or have the app generate a workout for you based on your fitness goals (and then customize it to your satisfaction). I purchased after my 2nd free trial session because I saw how convenient it was to track weights, volume, rest intervals all on your phone. It was one stop shop. Well worth the purchase, will recommend to friends and others! My phone is an iPHONE XS Max, no glitches, runs smooth. Please add the following exercises: Pendlay Rows, Deficit Deadlifts, Halting Deadlift, Rack pulls, Barbell Overhead Press (OHP), Barbell Pin Press for OHP, Rev Grip Bench Press, Wide Grip Bench Press, Block/Pin Bench Press, Rev grip Tri pull down (medial head), cable/rope triceps extensions, leg press stance variants (narrow/wide, upper stance, lower), Barbell Front Squats.Version: 3.5.1

Beginners luckSix month update *** Still absolutely LOVE this app. It has made ALL the difference in my time at the gym as a beginning lifter. If you enjoy the feeling of clicking “done” at the end of a set to see progress, this is for you. If you need to see examples of how to do the exercises, this is for you. If you need to be pushed into exercises you didn’t know existed, again, this is for you. Well worth the money. I just open it, make adjustments based on how I’m feeling and then go. No thinking involved after that. Looking back at my past sets and seeing progress is phenomenal. My ONLY complaint is that it picks a few exercises and will not let them go. I love being asked to do new things, but it seems to be desperate for me to try some things over and over when there are even more new things to try. And that makes the reps get crazy high!! Doing 5 sets with 42 reps of ANY exercise is a LOT. I want it to cycle through all the things I haven’t done before it gets that high on one particular exercise. This would save the time replacing those with new things on my own before each exercise session. Otherwise, this is the best app I’ve ever paid for. Hands down. 100%..Version: 4.7.0

Great, but needs some featuresI’ve been using Fitbod for a while now and there’s really no other fitness app out there that compares for ease of use. If you are looking to start and get into a workout routine, this app with get you going right away. Overall, I’ve been pretty pleased with Fitbod and I’ll still continue to use it. The downsides are that it’s lacking some features that would be helpful. I’m starting to look into training for a triathlon and it would be great to generate strength training for specific disciplines like running, cycling, swimming, golf, etc. Only having five or six general categories doesn’t really diversify for specific training. I’m not looking for a full on training plan, but more supplemental training for other sports. The other issue is no Garmin support. There’s only Apple health, Strava, and Fitbit. I’ve been able to sync my Garmin data through Apple Health and then into Fitbod to have it count for other workouts (e.g. - cycling, swimming, etc.) but it’s not super accurate and I’m not sure it’s working to the fresh muscle groups when generating workouts. It seems that the AI that was there before isn’t the same as it was a year ago, so not sure if there was an update that tweaked that. Overall, Fitbod does fill the gap of taking the guesswork out of strength and lifting, but it still needs some work..Version: 6.13.2

Great for getting startedThis app is the first thing that has successfully gotten me into weight lifting. I’ve been doing so for about a month and a half now with no plans of slowing down. For that, it deserves at least 4 stars. Having said that, at the end of the day, your workouts are being generated by AI, which is not going to be any where close to perfect and has its limitations. 2 things in particular that I will note; if you are a younger adult, this app is not going to come any where close to being able to keep up with your early strength gains. When you are first starting out with weight lifting, you realistically are going to be able to add additional weight to the major compound exercises almost every time you go to the gym, at least weekly. Fitbod may have you increase this weight once every 2 or 3 weeks. Unfortunately the AI is not smart enough to recognize that as a complete beginner, you are going to gain strength much faster than normal for the first couple months. Additionally, the app doesn’t do a great job carrying over weight improvements from one exercise to another. For example, in a month in a half, I’ve increased my cable bicep curls from 8 reps at 30 pounds to 8 reps at 55 pounds. If I then decide to do EZ Bar curls, the app will tell me to do 8 reps at 35 pounds on the EZ bar. Obviously if I’m cable curling 55 pounds, I can ez bar curl more than 35. These are just a couple of examples of the limitations of the AI. All in all, it’s a great app for getting you started in the gym and tracking your workouts, but after a week or 2 of getting accustomed to working out, I wouldn’t rely on the AI to generate everything for you as it does have its limitations.Version: 5.23.2

Good but frustratingThe Good: can customize workouts, has a great exercise library with video demonstration. Can create your own workouts, can group exercises into a circuit, also suggests workouts based on recovered muscles, provides good data to see how you have been tracking over a period of time. The frustrating: your customized workouts are not searchable, when performing an exercise the app does not tell you what you did last time or provide any wick info on recent weights used, cannot group saved workouts into a folder which would be so nice if you do different programs, it would also be nice for it to suggest exercises based on frequency of movements that you usually do for a particular body part, also since now I have many saved workouts, when I go into the list, when I go to look at a workout to see if I want to do it, if I want to look at another saved workout, there is no back button to take you back to the list…you have to exit out completely and go back into the whole list again…super frustrating! Hopefully these are easy fixes that some I have requested 4 years ago when I first purchased. Hopefully a public review will motivate them to actually follow through with these frustrating features..Version: 6.22.0

App keeps crashing & doesn’t sync with Watch appI’ve been using Fitbod for years. The app has so much potential. It makes logging workouts and tracking progress so easy. I usually use my owns self-created workouts, but the ones that the app generates are great as well. But lately, the app has been crashing nearly every time I use it. When I create a workout, when I update a workout, when I’m mid-workout trying to log a set, the app crashes. It’s incredibly frustrating. Often times I start a workout and continue to log exercises on my Apple Watch, then get halfway thru my workout before I realize the app on my phone has not synced, and not of my progress appears there. Then the watch app defaults to the phone app, and my progress is erased on the watch, forcing me to go back thru and re-log everything from memory if I want to have a record of the day’s workout. I’m not sure what the issue is. I sent an email but have received no word back. There have been sporadic issues like this in the Pat surrounding various updates, but they usually pass within a few days. This time the problem has persisted for months. Please. For the love of the gains, fix this issue. I pay for this app and it crashes nearly every time I open it. Often times, mid-workout. It’s infuriating. Only thing keeping this review at 3 stars instead of 5..Version: 4.12.0

This app has revolutionized fitness for meI have always wanted to get in shape, but the idea of going to the gym has always been so overwhelming and intimidating. The main reason has always been: what do i do? This app has solved that problem perfectly. I just put in my information and boom: here’s exercises to do, how many reps and what weights to use, and exactly how to do the exercises (combination of detailed instructions and lil videos). Now this app is certainly not perfect. There are definitely several limitations in the customization area. But i think the positives far outweigh the negatives. For the longest time, i just did push ups and pull ups at home, because they were easy to do consistently. I tried adding other things to work out legs, but i didn’t really know what to do and how to do it. Then today, i had to stay home from the gym because i had a sore throat, but i still wanted to work out. So, i made a new gym profile on the app and entered that i just had a few dumbbells and a pull up bar, and boom: a full comprehensive workout that was just as satisfying as going to my gym. That was honestly what motivated me to write this review. FitBod has revolutionized fitness for me..Version: 6.8.0

Everything I needed in a fitness appI just wanted an app to log my workouts and give me ideas of what to work out. Well… this app does that and more. I enter my goals and my experience and it gives me custom workouts. it also bases it around my time commitment and the gym equipment I report having which I can personalized at any time of my equipment grows. I can also select a big box gym that has all the equipment if I’m working out with a friend and it will adapt the workout to fit other equipment. the AI coach made my weight recommendations too heavy but no worries. I simply edited the amount of weights or reps to adjust a better fit. At the end I record how much effort I put forth. I foresee that as I log each workout the AI will better customize future workouts. I love the rest timer feature which alerts me when my rest is over and even gives me a notification if I scroll out of the app to select new music etc. there’s video and verbal instructions on how to do the workouts. There is a muscle chart! My only suggestions are: that they add an optional a warm-up and cool down routine. I can change my timer alert sound. Maybe those exist - I just haven’t found it yet..Version: 8.19.1

Could be better if it didn’t glitch.I love this app. i’ve been using it for more than three years now. i’ve recommended it to many many people. but let me tell you, it could be better. first of all, there is are two glitches that occur & i don’t know if it’s just me or what, but i’ve tried deleting and reinstalling again & it didn’t help. one glitch is if i have the app open on my watch to record the workouts, the app on my phone won’t record ANYTHING. and the moment i pull the app up (because it does this whether it’s open on my phone or not), it will wipe out EVERYTHING i recorded on my watch. the other glitch will basically be like the app (phone or watch) won’t be caught up or something (best way i can describe it) & will “refresh” which causes my exercise tracking app on my apple watch to close. this all got worse with the new iOS 8 update on the watch & iOS on the new iphone 13. It has closed on me three times in the 25 minutes i’ve been at the gym this morning. the second thing i would love to see is designating what muscle groups i want to work on what day. the options for push/pull & fresh muscle groups are great but i am doing a very specific split right now. the fresh muscle groups is almost never accurate. i will have worked quads on a sunday & then on tuesday it’s got them loaded to workout again, but it will have been five days since i worked back & it days that’s still at 7%. right now i’m just manually loading in the groups i want to hit everyday, but having a preset option would make life so much easier. i’ve been paying for a subscription ever since my three day trial expired because i love it that much and there is no other app on the market that i feel does as well as fitbod, but i tell ya, i get real frustrated sometimes..Version: 4.37.0

Awesome for Home Gym/Apple Watch app is alrightBecause of the pandemic, I’ve been trying to get some home gym equipment. What I love about this app is that you can choose what equipment you have available to you, and it will tailor exercises that you can do. I’ve been using it for about a week and just subscribed to Fitbod Elite. I’m loving the exercises and the amount of customization it offers. The only reason why I didn’t give 5 stars is because the Apple Watch app is just alright. It’s pretty much bare bones and too simple. It works great for what it does. When you start a workout, you can log sets and move on to the next exercise and that’s it. Before I started using Fitbod, I used an app called SmartGym, which Apple said is the best gym/workout app for the Apple Watch, and I think it’s totally true. The SmartGym Apple Watch app is good looking, works well and has so much information on the screen. You can see your heart rate, workout duration, what exercise and set you’re on, and you can even see an example of the exercise straight on the watch if you’re unsure if you’re doing the exercise correctly. The SmartGym app on the Watch is so well executed that when I switched over to Fitbod and saw the Watch app, my reaction was “this is it?”. Fitbod overall is a better workout planning and exercise app than SmartGym, but SmartGym’s Apple Watch app is light years ahead of Fitbod. Devs, if you’re reading this, please take a look at SmartGym’s Apple Watch App. If you’re able to make improvements to Fitbod’s Apple Watch app and make it something like SmartGym, you’ll have an absolute winner of an app that will have everyone using this for exercising..Version: 4.21.0

AwesomeComplete, lots of options, many many training possibilities, overall, love the app.Version: 3.9.1

10 months later and very happy with my progressI wanted to wait a while before reviewing this app to really be fair. I’ve been consistently weightlifting by following its programming for the past 10 months and I’m very impressed and happy with my results! Seeing my 2022 recap really put things into perspective. I really like how this app recommends specific weights and set/rep counts. It celebrates new PRs in weight, projected 1 rep max, rep count, and volume, which adds a nice layer of gamification to help with motivation. It’s really nice to have the exercises switch up too, to keep things interesting. I’ve also appreciated the recent UI updates. It used to be a bit awkward and unintuitive to change between different gym settings (standard, at home, etc.), or different splits. Now these are on the main screen of the app. I’ve recommended this app to my fellow gym rat friends and I recommend it to anyone else who wants to get stronger without hiring a (human) personal trainer..Version: 5.24.0

Incredible.Absolutely love this app. My strength gains are consistent and beyond all expectations. Just as important, my physique is being sculpted like I’ve never seen it before... Get this app. Follow it. Eat well. You will love the results..Version: 3.24.1

Best workout App ever - need to keep adding new exercisesBeen using this app since April. Very effective. Definitely needs to frequently update with new exercises. I use this app at home for my weight training with dumbbells, mini loop bands and body weight because the timeframe to which I workout is a busy time at the gym. Would also like to see specific targeted muscle exercises like the different areas of chest, triceps, biceps, shoulders, etc..Version: 6.39.0

Not Working!!Have been using this app since May and it’s been amazing but since December it’s super slow, crashes my phone, and often doesn’t even record my workouts anymore.Version: 3.8.1

Good App, but as always plenty of room for improvementFirst and foremost, I like the app and would recommend it to the average person who’s just looking to get in shape. However, I wish the app would work seamlessly across all my devices. For example, if I’m using my iPhone to follow the workout and I turn to my watch the application crashes. Also, even though I’m signed in through all my devices with the same account the workouts are all different in each of them. It also doesn’t allow me to list a schedule of when I want to workout, example Mon, Tuesday workout Wednesday rest,Thursday Friday workout Saturday rest. I hope this helps the developers because all in all I do like the app and I feel like it’s been helping me. I’m 4 weeks in and I’m starting to feel positive results.Version: 8.2.0

ExcellentI have been into physical fitness for many years. Recently gave up my gym membership and purchased my own equipment. I was getting frustrated with the Covid restrictions, and not being able to book a time to go, or the club being completely shut down. The app keeps things fresh and created workouts based on the equipment I have. I have noticed tremendous change in my strength, and my physical appearance. I highly recommend this app..Version: 4.24.0

Is this even for women??I love the workouts it formulates, but it should recognize the strength differences between men and women and it doesn’t. Most of the weight recommendations were too low for lower body and WAY too high for upper body. I mean, 120lbs lat pull down and 55lbs dumbbell rows? As a 140lbs woman??? You’re kidding right?.Version: 6.26.0

Great app, couple things can be fixedNoticed couple glitches: - in the long list of exercises about every seventh is blinking for some reason - when I try to change target muscle groups for the upcoming training after I press Save everything goes back to how it was and exercises stay the same (no possibility to change muscle groups, only to change every exercise manually and then I have to change stretches respectively) - once training is started a cannot open other parts of the app - training just stops if I do - the most annoying - on the icon for hamstrings muscles aren’t shown equally on the left and right side, please fix this 🥺 Overall love the app.Version: 6.3.0

This app has changed my lifeRequest for the team at FITBOD Please add OBLIQUE exercises to the app!!! I want to say this app has single handedly transformed the way I perceive fitness and I recommend this app to anyone who is just beginning..Version: 6.3.0

Changed the way I workoutBeen using this app for a month and I love it. Can’t wait to see how this product and company evolves..Version: 2.9.10

ExerciceExercices complets avec des démonstrations bien claires pour une bonneexécution...👍👍👍.Version: 4.22.0

Good but..Honestly, its a good app but there are some bugs that dont seem to be the priority to the developers. For example. The are muscle groups to choose from to create a workout. The option is given to choose a secondary muscle (calf, traps, forearms etc.) but when you click on save it doesnt generate automaticaly. I have contacted support and searched the forums and it hasnt been fixed in a year. Why buy this app that is supposed to create your workout when you end up having to create it yourself. I might be picky but for an advance weightlifter, ill just save my money and create my own workouts. There are TONS of free workouts online and free apps. Thanks.Version: 4.11.2

Doesn’t show up on Apple WatchI like the app and everything but I don’t get why it doesn’t show on my Apple Watch, just on my phone..Version: 3.8.2

Very goodI enjoy this. It keeps asking me to rate it, maybe if I write a review it will stop!!.Version: 8.21.0

GreatJust started. This app is great. My muscles are awakening from a long rest, and it feels good to have them back in action. This beginner-friendly program progresses at the right pace, with adjustments that can be made along the way as strength and fitness improve. Really enjoying it so far..Version: 8.21.0

Lifetime MembershipBeen using the app for 8 years now over 1700 workouts and absolutely love it. Got offered on Boxing Day to the a lifetime member and jumped on that very quickly. App is amazing and it takes the guess work out of building workouts and tracking. We have enough going on in our lives without having to figure out this too. Took my personal training course years ago, I know how to train myself properly and this still makes me sweat buckets after every workout. You will not be sorry also for the price you can’t go wrong one year is cheaper then one personal training session, who can argue with that..Version: 8.19.1

Push pull legPush pull leg plan does not work properly missing shoulder!! Please fix.Version: 8.20.0

Perfect For Quick Lunch Time WorkoutsStarted using the app when my only workout time was lunch break. Having the exercises already set up and the time set for 25min was a no brainer…literally, you do not have to think! Only have 15 minutes…change the time! Maybe you only want to do cardio that day…change the type of exercise. Only reason for knocking a star is because I recently switched to intermediate and it’s not calculating my reps correctly. It’s like it reset(?).Version: 8.20.0

Sassy pantsI love everything about it! I love that you can Taylor your workout according to the equipment that you have. I love that you can consider a duration of your workout and Fitbod will formulate a workout within that timeframe. I love that you can swap out exercises if they don’t work for you. I love the variety of workouts that you can choose from! It’s the best workout app. I’ve had thus far!.Version: 8.18.0

Fitness journeyFitbod is one of the best choice I made have been using it for almost 3 years the best app for exercising and the best tracker for ur fitness journey.Version: 8.18.0

ReviewFor a beginner, I like Fitbod to show illustration for each exercise..Version: 8.17.0

Awesome appI have started using the app to have a planned weight training, this has helped me to gain my strengths..Version: 8.17.0

A True Gym CompanionFitbod has become my gym companion. The app is intuitive, highly customizable, and one of the biggest advantages for me is being able to select the exact equipment I have in my home gym, which makes workouts feel truly tailored. When I travel, it’s just as easy to adjust the available equipment and keep training without missing a beat. Great user experience, flexible, practical, and genuinely useful. Highly recommend..Version: 8.17.0

ReviewChanged my life, swear by this app.Version: 8.17.0

Very happyIt’s become a part of my daily routine. Am in best shape of my life. With my calorie tracker, smart scale app, and Apple Health, it’s a core part of my health and fitness program..Version: 8.16.0

ExcellentI enjoy the flexibility of this app..Version: 8.15.0

Longtime userI’ve been with this app since the initial beta version and it’s been great to me and my brothers..Version: 8.16.0

Great App for beginnersI’ve been using it for 3 months now and I have nothing but good things to say. It keeps me on track and motivated with my work outs. Lots of variety to choose from. Some are missing but regardless it’s amazing. I have increased my strength and improved body composition since using the app. Highly recommend.Version: 8.14.0

Easy To See Your ProgressI love all that FitBod has to offer, but the main thing I find beneficial of this app is keeping track of all your progress. I can consistently see where I’m improving between categories such as max weight, estimated one rep max, total volume, and reps, etc. The app is very customizable, and user friendly. I also find all the exercises it sets out before very beneficial in my overall growth..Version: 8.11.0

3 Year UserGreat app to keep you on pace but seems to lack intelligence to improve performance. It’s mostly up to the user to make changes. It’s getting to be stale. Not sure I’ll renew again..Version: 8.13.0

Love this app!!Worth it!!.Version: 8.11.0
