Amazing gameThis game is amazing, because there is just so much do to, so much to learn, and very versatile in the way you play. It rewards both a pay-to-win style gameplay, but it also rewards a free-to-play style gameplay. I cannot emphasize just how much there is to do. I’ve been playing for almost 4 years, maybe even 5 years by now, and I still am nowhere near to finishing the game. The PvP system is also very nice, and while you don’t exactly get matched with people of similar rank, that is beneficial because it encourages the player to actually learn to play the game. This game, is one that isn’t too easy to the point that a person who started a week ago can be a veteran, but not hard to the point where it might be unattractive to players. Arguably, the best part is that while it is very grindy, it is fun to the point that it doesn’t feel like a chore to grind. Also, if you don’t like the dubbed voices or the “4kids” version of yu-gi-oh, you can change the character language of the game, to either korean or japanese, for those who prefer that. Overall, will last for a very long time, and you’ll see yourself come back to it every day. Also, to everyone saying the game is too hard or that some cards or too overpowered, Yugi literally said in the first episode that You must use spells to power with your monsters. Not only that, but every single way to play has a counter. And, always remember this quote from the man Yugi himself: “What can be seen but remains unseen?”. CheesyThis game has no heart. PvP is ruled by people who load their decks with the same cards to the point on higher levels every match feels the same and can be won in the first 3 turns. This game would be a lot better if some of the cheesier cards that allow you to summon 3 or 4 monsters per turn were actually rare and not handed out to everyone. I want an actual duel not just watching somebody play half their deck in one turn and win. Also i dont understand the “shuffle” aspect. I noticed some of my best spell cards rarely get put in my hand while the same 3 cards will constantly be put in my hand. I once got to turn 30 by strategizing and utilizing my spell and trap cards, with the hope of being dealt my favorite magic card only to never see it in the 15 turns i had. Not just in those 15 turns but i played 15 straight PvPs and didnt see that card once. Theres no way these cards are being shuffled like they are supposed to be. I even rearranged my deck and see no improvements. Overall playing the computer on higher levels is fun but PvPs get monotonous when everybody’s playing the same way in order to get quick and cheesy wins in 3 turns. I want to actually duel like in the anime/game. Not just cheese summon cards to get all my best monsters in turn 2. Thats not how the game is played. Honest review from a true lover of Yu-Gi-Oh!, who has played duel links since 2018I have just recently came back after taking a little break. I will say this game will always be amazing just due to the community and my love for this game. This game is very in depth and isn’t evolved tremendously over the years compared to when I first started to now, there are so many different options and so many different gaming styles, but obviously with the good comes the bad I do feel the summons Have got a little out of hand. To have someone on their first hand and already have three monster cards out on the field is a little excessive when I watched Yu-Gi-Oh! the actual show I don’t ever remember seeing the stuff that I see going on in this game now with that being said the game and this is not meant to be a negative review just showing room to improve and possibly bring in some nerves or reality to this game. I do feel that there should be a separate ranked mode for people who want to have all of these special summons and synchro summons because these were not a part of the original game. I gave four stars because sometimes you need to keep in mind the true roots of the game and where it started from and catered to those who have been watching the show since day one and synchro summons were never a part of of the original Yu-Gi-Oh! therefore there should be a separate ranked matchmaking for that place style if that’s what you choose to do..IG: DoorsRus_ATLVersion: 10.1.0

Completely amazing, one small issueThis game is absolutely amazing and I have no major concerns at all. It does eat up battery if you have all the best features on but that’s not a problem. I just charge my phone before and after I play. As far as the UI, there hasn’t been a single moment that I’ve ever been upset with the way the game is payed out and played. You never have to navigate through a ton of menus or have to click a whole bunch to get to where you need. Usually it is just one click or swipe away and I love it! I stopped playing the game for a year and had to start over about two months ago and I have already collected enough cards to have one of the best decks out there right now! Not to mention my gems and coins build up so much that I forget I have so many!!! This game is just incredible in every way! It never lags, never crashes, always get updates and you never lack communication about maintenance and issues with the game. I love how fast the fixes are. The only ONLY small issue I have is that once you or your opponent have lost all their life points, as they reach zero, the screens slowly fills bright white and then reaches a point where I have to turn my phone away or close my eyes, even on the lowest brightness level 🥺. I understand this suggestion may not be taken by the developers but if by chance you do see this review I and I’m sure many others would greatly appreciate if you could find a way to lower that bright white screen or possibly replace/take it out all together! A great game, not perfect though!This game is great in many ways and dynamics. The number one thing to give credit, is it is not pay to win. They have a great leveling system with excellent rewards. Which makes easy to catch up if you haven’t played in awhile. It is very easy for new comers. I could never get my friend to play the actual card game, but I got him to play this, and now he plays the actual game with me, because this app taught him how to play. I love the animations for those monsters that got them. But now I must say the things that need improving. The dialogue is so cheesy; I always have it on silent! Also I do understand there are a lot cards missing and the reason would be to progress the game through time and keep it relevant. However, the game is only up to the synchro era, and the synchro era doesn’t have as much progress as the the fusion and original era. It is definitely time for the synchro era and all of its characters to get their support maxed. There are so many, stardust, red dragon, black wing and many other cards lacking from the game today. The xyz could also be included finally. I mean yugioh vrains is already getting kinda close to finishing. This game is very fun and I play it every day, and I don’t plan on stopping as long as the progression system stays the same and they update the cards. Dear Potential Players, Dear Haters, and Dear Creators,This game is by far my favorite game in the App store, and this is coming from someone who has had Apple devices for over 5 years and played thousands of different games from the App Store. Although I liked Yugioh as a kid, I never got into the card game until this app was released. In other words, it's not just for the die-hard Yugioh fans. The thing I think I like the most about this game, aside from the game mechanics of the card game, is the fact that the creators are CONSTANTLY keeping this game interesting. With new characters and campaigns coming out every week, it's hard not get addicted! Also, I've seen a lot of people giving this game low ratings because they think you have to pay for good cards to compete competitively. This is an absolute lie. I downloaded the game back in February, and since then, I've collected over 75 Ultra Rares and over 200 Super Rares without spending a single penny on the game. Does it take time? Yes. Do you have to play the campaigns? Yes. But you DO NOT have to spend money to get good cards or compete competitively. Now, don't get me wrong, money does help, but it's not necessary. Even though I'm not one who's been especially interested in playing ranked duels( A.K.A. Competitively), a couple months ago I made it to Gold Rank 5, and since then, my card collection and duelist skills have improved drastically. So with a little bit of patience, I know you can do it! Pay to win or notThis game can be played using free to play, and they have come a long way in that regard. I have been playing since the game came out and absolutely love it. My only warning to people is that if you enjoy it as much as I did and would like to be able to play competitively you will have to drop quite a bit of money. For instance if a new box comes out you would have to drop 100 to 200 dollars to get three copies of the cards. They do have sales, ranked tickets, and events that are a good way to get cards for free, but like I said before without dropping some money you will not have the advantage some have, and depending on the deck type it could be a huge disadvantage. I have notice recently that when a box comes out there rares are now becoming much better cards, which is easier for F2P people to obtain, and they have events all the time to collect cards. Lastly if you want to be competitive at this game you will also need to spend a lot of time! If a event comes and you miss that chance to pick up those cards it can mean you will not be able to use the best arch type for a long time. So remember the facts, the games is fun and well designed, it is free to play if you just want to have fun and be semi competitive, you will drop a lot of money to stay current with the meta, and you will have to spend a lot of time playing events and ranked or fall behind. Probably the best card game app availableI really enjoy this app. I played Hearthstone but it felt like such a horrible grind just to get cards that were remotely useful. This app gives you so many options to get competitive fairly quickly. You can definitely pay for packs, and I have honestly considered it (because I legitimately want to support this app, not actually because I need the cards) but the nice thing is I don’t feel like I have to in order to play competitively. I want to throw a special shout out to one particular feature that really deserves recognition: the vagabond. If you don’t know his reputation just do a quick google search, he has challenges that make it hard to win but used super op decks that seemed to always get the best draws. With the recent changes to the vagabond I see him as a really valuable resource in the game. His challenges are a little bit better tuned, and the XP gains are still wonderful. The thing that really adds value, though, is that the vagabond gives you the chance to look at his deck after dueling him. His decks are taken from high ranking duelists, so this is a great way to see what the best players are using, what’s meta, and what is being tech’d in certain decks. Overall this is an easy 5 stars. Absolutely phenomenal!!! How is this free?This is probably the most fun Yu-Gi-Oh! Experience I've ever had. And I'm super into Yu-Gi-Oh! In general. I was hesitant at first because the smaller game board. But after playing, I actually really really like it. I like the idea of quick games. It lets me practice certain strategies faster than the original game. It's more like the show that way. I also love the voice acting and the time that the developers put into this. I can really feel the heart that was put into this. I am constantly amazed because of the innovative new updates that continually come to this game!!! I really cannot. Believe this game is free! In no way do you have to pay to win. The option is there if you want it, but I've only paid once, and I really didn't need to. I honestly felt guilty that I didn't at least pay a little bit. ACTUALLY Free To Play for ACTUAL playersIt’s all strategy imo. some games cost a lot. this hasn’t cost me a dollar and i made 2 of my IRL decks minus 1 card (locked as the final upgrade for a secret character) in the span of about 4 days. you really just have to be strategic in how you utilize your gems, opportunities to earn gems, events, and orbs/triggering stage ups (you could potentially have multiple worlds all 99% finished and ready to stage up, resetting the growing number of standard duels you've been allowed each time) and do your darn duel trials. free gems for one turn of a game. hard to find features like that. ALSO ESPECIALLY know when to use your tickets. you can spend 5000 gems trying to get 1 card out of a 400+ BOX, OR you can see if it’s redeemable with a ticket/character unlock you can get on a daily basis for free. the “card catalog” will show you how any card/related card is achievable. some do require BOX purchases (makes sense when there are over 10 thousand individual cards), but theres a plethora of short cuts to so many cards you don’t have to just buy a BOX 100 times over hoping a deck builds itself before you go broke. Could've gotten 5 starsI've been playing for a long time. Though I rarely put effort into PvP since it'll just be a group of strong copied decks alongside my cell service goes out like twice per two weeks. The game is probably the best gacha game there has been. You get a lot of their currency called gems during events. It's usually easy to unlock characters, cept bastion and that one dude in dark side of dimensions. Just it feels like the level up mechanic to get new cards could be polished. You'd think you would already own the signer dragons. But no you have a skill that adds them to the deck. I get your running a business but that's they're signature card. It's like having to pay 40 bucks for a Pokemon game and then having to pay for Pikachu. Other issues would be that some archetypes like guardragon and DD aren't labeled an archetype in game, so you gotta search them. For DD that is really frustrating to search. It's weird to have an addition to an archetype added in the next box. It was hard and costly to get most of it the first time. It would be great if you could set up an archetype store. If you have all but one card of a set you can trade in some of the extra ones you already have for that final card. This would be a one time deal per archetype. Love the game itself but pvp is a disappointmentFirst off let me say that I have loved Yu-Gi-Oh since I was a kid and I like how the game has certain cards that are unique to some players as well as skills. However as I got more into the game I noticed that the new boxes that came out featured more and more cards that harmonize together and have chaining effects without the player having to come up with a strategy to use them. This is a problem I feel because it takes away from the originality of coming up with your own deck and trying new ideas you may have. I believe that’s what made yu-hi-oh the great game that it is because of the originality and prowess each duelist showed with their own deck. Even so this concept of getting all your monster, spell, and trap cards from the same box and just using them as they come requires almost no thought or skill to use especially when you use them with a character’s skill that’s made for them. This is overall my only problem with the game the pvp has become way to easy for players who choose not to put as much thought into how their deck is formed and it makes duelists who are amateurs able to become high ranking the pvp players just by spending a little money on boxes. Good but could be greatDon’t get me wrong I would love to give this game 5 stars, this is by far the best Yu-Gi-Oh! game out there including the actual $60 games on the console and this one is free! But the problem here comes from the card game itself. These “meta” decks completely dominate the game. This game would have such a bigger fan base if you could play it how it was meant to be played: by building your own decks and testing them out and playing with friends in a fun, competitive environment. I’ve been playing this game since it came out and I’ve got to say I love it, but with the addition of these crazy decks and meta cards it’s ruining what should be the most fun part of the game which is the pvp. It should be easy to go into pvp and play with people from everywhere in the world who share the love of this game with whatever deck you want and not have to face people who play the exact same cards because “that’s what wins” I know this problem exists in the TCG as well as the OCG. Konami needs to realize that their game is majorly unbalanced. Skills were a great addition to the game of Yu-Gi-Oh! and they add a lot of balance where earlier there was none, but they don’t fix these problems completely. Great game, terrible PvPThe game used to be great. However, it has fallen from grace. The events that Konami cycles through are usually very fun and enjoyable. The characters, skills and vibe of the game are easy to pick up - not to mention you don’t have to spend $$$ to get the full experience. Every other review complains about problems that can be worked around, yet none mention the only issue with the game - PvP (the worst condition it’s ever been in, no contest). The added cards come in sets called “boxes.” Each box has a theme which typically contain cards that harmonize together. The newer additions are absolutely brainless and require 0 skill to construct a successful deck. You see morons in the chat spamming what is and what isn’t meta, yet everyone seems to forget what made yugioh great initially - the originality of character personality and their unique flavor of cards. Watch out for the raw skill and prowess possessed by people who use “Sylvan” and “Aromage” cards, they’re sure to out maneuver you or maybe even win in one turn! Such fun! The catering to amateurs has undoubtably destroyed the PvP aspect of the game but fortunately there’s more to do than dueling other players. Although this is simply an opinion, I believe this review holds some merit as I’m a multiple-time KoG player and have played for over a year and a half. Very well done, but the AI bot is super dumb.As the title suggests, this is a great game. However, the auto duel feature can be very dumb at times. For instance, it may summon a monster with 0 atk (like Priestess with Eyes of Blue) and will attack an opponent’s monster. This is most unwise because a monster with 0 attack has no hope of destroying anything. This gets very annoying when attempting to auto duel with a cubic deck (since the auto duel feature will result in crashing into other monsters with Vijam seeds). Another thing: For certain missions that require “summons” to unlock some sort of skill, it seems to not include special summoning. For instance, the Lifetime Mission to “summon Black Rose Dragon 30 times using Akiza Izinski” does not tally up unless Black Rose Dragon was synchro summoned. This eliminates the possibility of using cards that revive monsters from the graveyard, adding more hours than necessary for grinding similar skills. Update: The bot is actively getting dumber. Example: While using Yusei Fudo equipped with the skill Starlight Star Road. This makes it so Junk Converter is already in the graveyard. I normal summon Junk Synchron and then turn on the AI. The bot uses Junk Synchron’s effect to summon Junk Converter from the graveyard. Then it ENDS it’s turn, even though the materials needed to Synchro summon were already on the field?! This obviously cost me the duel. I also think Red Nova Dragon should absolutely have a summoning animation. But I’m not done yet. When changing card sleeves, there have been a few times when I accidentally press “Change for all decks”, and when this happens, it is super annoying. NOT P2W!I have to say that this is a free to play licensed game done the RIGHT way, first off it doesn’t constantly spam your screen with ads and offers for stuff to buy like most F2P games which is a huge plus in a world where 90% of free games seem to do something of that sort every 2 minutes. There are TONS of cards with new ones being added all the time, constant events going which help give you freemium currency to a point where you never feel forced into spending money just to continue playing, honestly that is one of the main reasons I chose to spend money on a few extra packs just to help support the game, I really can’t think of anything bad about this game that’s worth saying, I don’t think it’s ever crashed on me even though I’m on a fossil of a phone and on the same subject the battery consumption is phenomenal, I can play for hours with it barely effecting my battery, which is a huge deal for me when my phone goes from 100% to 10% in 10 minutes for most games. Im crySorry for bad English. Yugio is an amazing game, a lot of opportunities, everything is very interesting. But I realy hate the new cards introduced, it introduced such an imbalance into the game: is it normal that I didn't have time to make a move, and the enemy has already summoned three monsters with an attack of 2800+ in attacking form? And these same cards are able to destroy your cards just effects. What are these samurai - they will destroy all your monsters, all your traps and magic cards. Plus to them Underground maps, Bushido, pyramids. But samurai stand out more than others. They don't need to try to summon a strong monster. And there's almost nothing you can do but watch. The higher the rating, the more such donaters-cancers. All stupidly copy this configuration. People can put themselves in a pack of 3 such strong cards, without the ability to oppose them something, no restrictions, no negative effects for them. And I ask myself, what am I doing with this game? I sit and watch this nightmare. You ruined the game. If possible , divide the game into three worlds as well. For example, I want to play without new cards from the third world. I will play with players with cards from the first two worlds, any to choose from. Best Card Game Period.This is by far a 5 star mobile game. If you enjoy the strategy it takes to play these games then this is the game for you. Do not listen to reviews that say you have to pay money to be competitive. It’s just not true. You can be lazy and spend the money if you’ve got it. Will say prices aren’t to unreasonable in this game. But you can also grind in this game. If you play it right and go for your stage challenges and unlock all the playable characters. You can get about 2,000 gems from every character in the game. It is not hard to get everyone to lvl 30 it is what I did and I’ve had no problem playing competitive. Also every time a box comes out the kind developers give away at least 500 gems. Not to mention the 5,000 gems you get when you start. So they definitely let you decide which way you want to go with your deck. On top of all that there are several events that happen all throughout every week with chances to get good cards. Every event eventually makes its way back around and you can get another chance if you missed out before. FIX ACCOUNT RETRIEVAL!!!!! To many OP cards, Faulty matchmaking system!I loved this game soooooooooo much! But when it came to switching phone and redownloading. The game fails to mention that you would lose EVERYTHING!!! It never mentions what you need to save your account and it’s info and what to do when your account disappears into thin air without explanation. As well as expecting players to remember their ID #’s as well as other useless info that you wouldn’t even think would be remotely important!!! I got so far and I was just getting better, but because of this stupid glitch it whatever, my experience has been totally ruined!!!! Also there are WAY to many cards in this game that have abilities that practically destroy whatever cards they want, I can’t tell you how many duels I’ve fought with people activating that ability and practically wiping out half of the field!!! Which leads me to my final complaint, even though it says you are in a specific rank, there are some people who obviously pay money to get the best cards. As I only get cards that are given to me and in packs and there are those who have set decks and are somehow in the bronze rank, ruing in the experience and not leaving to many good dueling experiences. Good appIt’s a fantastic app and you get to duel many people and even legendary duelist from the anime I play this for hours and the inclusion of cards from the anime and new cards never seen in the anime can be played by any character like you can use blue eyes ultimate with Pegasus and it’s fun too and the skills are the best part like they give you cards that you can’t get or haven’t gotten yet for free but speaking of skills (negative review from now on) the thing with skills being rewards for dueling legendary duelist is a rig you can just want one skill that does one simple thing that only helps your deck a tiny bit (example) I wanted the skill it’s a toon world for my toon deck and I’ve dueled over 70 duelist and I’ve even gotten the sleeves for using Pegasus for 100 duels and most of them for this challenge and even for other duelist and even for other “drop skills” I haven’t gotten a single one I would’ve gotten at least one with yugi muto for how much I’ve dueled legendary duelist with him but nope I got 0 of them and that’s the scam of this game I think you could get this skill in the Pegasus event but to date I don’t think so unless I have to duel 1,000 duelist then maybe ill give this a better review knowing it’s possible.Aaron ValeskaVersion: 5.5.0

Fantastic Game, few buggy featuresSo I’ve been a very big fan of Yu-Gi-Oh since I was a little child watching it on Saturday mornings on 4Kids. It’s great to see the mashup of all generations of the show displayed between all the characters with their different skills and different cards. My ONLY issue is with the new decklist feature that has recently been added. I continuously do the “tutorial” for the decklists and every time I close the app or go into the missions/stage tab, it makes me redo the tutorial again. If I’ve already done the tutorial and go into the missions/stage tab and it makes me redo it, it soft locks the game because I cannot favorite the deck list it asks because I’ve already done it prior. Which causes me to close the app and restart it. EVERY SINGLE TIME. Which I’m sure you can tell causes a lot of frustration and takes away from the enjoyment of the game. Other than this feature being buggy and not properly tracking, the game is fantastic and I’ve already gotten multiple people I know to download the game and play alongside me. Fun at first, but gets repetitive and lacks archtypesIf you’re looking for a simpler version of the Yu-gi-oh! game, this is for you. Despite what other reviewers say, I don’t find the game pay to win as they give you a ton of gems and tickets to be able to build the deck you wanna build. However, I do feel like after awhile, specifically after you get all the characters unlocked, that the game feels repetitive. You’re just playing the same duels over and over again to try to get the one or two new cards that they add into each event or to get the new character that they might add to the game once every few months. One of the biggest complaints I’ve seen is the meta game, and tbh, I agree with them, but for different reasons. It is true that as you get to higher rankings in PVP, the more you’ll find people using the same deck with only minor alterations. This is honestly a result of a lack of archetypes that the real game has an abundance of. Most of the archetypes that are in the game are ones that are used by the characters in the shows (Magician, Blue Eyes, Stardust, etc.), with only one new archetype being added every few booster packs, and it’s not even half the cards in the archetype, making playing them worthless until the extra support cards are added, which could take months to do..ZeroRyuzakiVersion: 5.3.0

It was a great game!I have been playing this game for a long time now. I built my own deck, original deck. Lately, an update introduced a new character: Dr. Crowler. His deck has become way too powerful to even enjoy playing this game. I say that because I love playing online. And since his deck is too powerful, everyone knows this so everyone uses him. There is no originality anymore because everyone just wants to use him. I get happy whenever I see a new character, even if I lose. You see, the point of this game is to meet people who have original decks that surprise you. Not to meet Crowlers or Pegasus who spam their powerful and unfair cards. The card “ancient gear castle” should be banned or at least limited. Not only does it allow you to summon monsters over 3000 of power just by using its effect (which I should add, is very easy to use. You and the person controlling this card only have to summon two monsters, and you can happily summon a monster with over 3000 of power.) you would think that this is okay. Awesome Game!I have loved this game since it first came out! I think it’s awesome how many characters you can play as and all the different worlds you can play in. I do have a few suggestions however. Some of the missions get a little repetitive and I feel like they’re missing some really cool story lines. I think either including the original Yugioh pharaoh in Egypt story arc as a new world or characters would be so awesome! Also the seal of oricalcos would be another super fun event. In the GX series you have the Shadow Riders and that would be really cool to include as well! I think if they dug into the episodes a bit more, they could get some super awesome worlds/characters/cards. Hope they keep adding fresh stories and being creative. Also I know it’s probably inevitable that they’re going to add Zexal and other new ones in the future. I personally am only a fan of OG, GX, and 5Ds. Great App but needs a few major improvementsI was a huge fan of the anime of this app when I was a kid so I knew I’d have fun with this. I really like and appreciate the app from the cards, the packs, the duels, everything, but I have to only rate this app 3 stars because of 3 major flaws. 1st off, the least amount of cards you can have in a deck is 20 and most of my decks only have 20 but too often, have I dueled and I lost because my starting hand was all spells, traps and monsters that needed to be tribute summoned. Also, when receiving a staring hand like this, my next 3 to 4 cards that I draw will all be spells and traps the majority of the time which makes it impossible to win. This needs to be fixed. 2nd, most to maybe all of the cards on this app were on the actual series but do not have the same effects which is a huge problem. Lastly, if you but a lot of packs and I mean a lot, a lot, the chances of you receiving UR and SR cards should be way higher than what they are right now. Zone frustration limitI had to play cheesy to get a handle on beating these PVP clones playing like a NPC everyone pick the same Op deck exploit it. No one is creative anymore with building their decks. But once I got the hang of things they brought back the fluffs so the fusion fluffs are just wiping out your monster zones and trap/spells with 2 or more fusion summons per turn and since u don’t know what a PVP deck will be in use. It becomes another factor that goes Against you. The zones available are just 3 and 3 instead of 5 and 5 like the original I think we would have a better chance if it was 5 and 5 but with all that awaits in duel links like the pvp clones. But I spent so much time and effort stacking up gems to spend on PsY-Frame cards and psychic cards there no decks for purchase for the Psy-frame or psychic cards. If I had a psy-frame deck to build I wouldn’t complain as much just typical gamer anger but mostly upset with the zone limit. I would like it better if they made the field original and gave us our 5 zones for monsters and spell/trap. So I play the game to waste time so I will not spend money just gems until changes are made. Is this even Yugioh?This is a great game for those who have the ACTUAL skill and nostalgic mind-set of a yugioh player. But the game is too repetitive in every way possible. For example starting off, the NPC only go up a certain level and have only a certain amount of skill set until you face lvl 10-40 legendary duelist. The battles are too fast paced on both CPU and PVP players. With only LP base of 4000 and cards of 30 and side cards of 5 I’m not sure if I can even call it a yugioh game but more of a “Handicapped” version of what yugioh should be. Players are much respected when they put in strategy but mostly every player who goes to PVP that are in Bronze-Gold and even some Platinum and up players use almost THE SAME CARDS EVERY DUEL. If you have Enemy controller, Wall of disruption or some form of combo with Slyvian monsters, Fur hire monsters then the game is really limiting the players creativity. Players can make a so called “theme” to their decks but will always have the same trap and spell cards with no new strategy which makes the game quick, repetitive and somewhat boring. Maybe if we had 8000 LP, limit cards to ONE OF 3 CARDS PER DECK, 40-60 cards with a limit of having 40 at least, and a side of 15 cards then this game would be challenging and more fun. I get slowly building up to cards like SYNCHROS, XYZ and LINKS, but even the old yugioh was and still probably is way more fun to play then this version. It has potential, but so far, it’s anything but a strategy game when everyone can do the same thing. Great game but needs quality of life improvementsI love this game. When I first started playing a couple months ago the nostalgia hit me so fast I didn’t even see it. I wanted to reach out and say that this game isn’t missing much but what it is missing are quality of life updates. Such as adding phone battery/time in the top right and left corners(where there is screen space at the top by the iPhone notch). A more responsive UI, such as when clicking and tapping buttons the delays makes it feel like the buttons can be unresponsive at times. Being able to more easily swipe through your hand when you have more than 7 cards in hand. Easier access to the PvP Area when in a duel room. At some times it feels like the screen is too cluttered, an options to stack standard duelist would be great and also reduce clutter on screen. An options in settings to play in landscape (only when in duels) would be an awesome feature as well! Again I love this game! Great app for Yu-Gi-Oh lovers!I’ve been a long time Yu-Gi-Oh lover and have been playing the physical card game for many years now. When I first heard about this app I avoided it like the plague for the first year of release because I thought it was just going to be another awful Konami cash grab and I’ve personally not been to happy with the company as a whole for a while now. It was my little brother who got me into playing and I’m glad he did! It’s been a lot of fun, and I’ve been able to enjoy it WITHOUT having to purchase anything. Yea, its a bit annoying at the start, but there are plenty of great free to play decks that you can do fairly well with (my favorite one being Aliens at the moment) that’ll help you earn gems to get more packs and build up your collection. If I had to nitpick, I’d say the micro transactions are definitely tempting and annoying at the same time and some of the characters don’t seem as balanced as other with their skills and level up rewards, but hopefully this will improve with time. Text Language OptionsI’ve been playing this game for over a year, and the biggest complaint I have is that you cannot switch to the Japanese text without changing your region to Japan. I am well aware that all of the texts for other languages are translations of the English 4Kids script, which is completely different and out-of-character compared to the original Japanese, the actual version that I—a US-based player—am a fan of, so even if you choose to have the audio in Japanese, the text won’t match. Very disappointing. Just that fact alone shows sloppy work from the localization teams (could it possibly be blamed on copyright? Player since day one but...There are a couple of huge issues which might ruin the entire game. Connection issues are number 1 on the list. When im dueling a newb they take forever once they see im messing with them and then i LOSE because of a connection error? My connection is perfect and i have an Iphone? Great game Bad mechanicsAlthough I love the game; I find it incredibly frustrating to play in the PvP arena. Like most reviews written here, you play the same overpowered decks again and again and again back to back. There are no limitations on how easily a player can summon 10 star monsters with multiple effects to run the field. To anyone who has ever played Yugioh prior to this, it’s a big slap in the face when you have a solid hand to play on the first turn and then your opponent literally goes through half their deck to destroy your whole setup and win the game by turn 2. You have no opportunity to do anything. There should be no reason one singular card in most decks allows you to touch almost your entire deck. Also with decks already being absurdly advantageous for an auto win, you have duelist abilities that make it even worse. Abilities like destiny draw (that allows you LOOK THROUGH YOUR DECK and draw whatever card you need) should be completely ousted in competitive play. Another ability is level augmentation.....this literally makes it so that you can get a high powered synchro card instantly in the first round of the match. PvP should completely get rid of duelist abilities as to balance the game out more. Keep the abilities in the regular game functions and ensure a better, more enjoyable gaming environment for everyone else. Nerf or ban some of these cards that allow you to infinitely run the same setup no matter if the card is banished or in the graveyard. Losing because a person can keep recycling a strong card with no risk is yet another reason there are so many complaints with PvP. That nastalgic itch I keep stratchingThis game is a gem of the mobile gaming app store. Truthfully it's a game I continue to keep playing off and on. I've even started over a few times; still enjoying and loving every moment of them. Only Play if You Have Excess Time/MoneyOverall, I had a fun experience with Yugioh Duel Links. The game features a great cast of characters/story arcs, and the online dueling opportunities are unrivaled. I left the app after some months for two main reasons, though. First, long campaigns with tight deadlines run the non-online experience. All of the aforementioned campaigns must be completed in-full as requisite if one wants to be competitive online/save money buying cards. As a young adult with responsibilities, it takes too much time investment. A non-deadline based, proper story mode would resolve this issue. Second, card boxes are put out quicker than fast fashion at Zara. Konami deserves money for their quality product, but the “pay-to-win” scale is tipped much too severely towards paying with this system. They either need to offer more in-game currency (gems), make pack prices cheaper, or release less card boxes. Beyond the problematic monetization structure, the incessant card boxes will only lead to “power creep”—eventually making the game pointless to play online. Great PvE but iffy PvPThe PvE is really fun and great to play with new stages to progress too and a steady stream of events coming out that add new characters to duel and new cards to collect. The gem system in this game is pretty generous as well as they reward you a substantial amount for playing the game in which you can spend in the store to open card packs and build up your deck. The PvP is quite fun too, however once you start going up in the rank system you’ll find yourself dueling against people with advanced structured decks. You’ll soon realize that your going to have to spend large amounts of money opening packs to get specific cards and then resetting packs to open them again just build up your desired deck. I have spent more money than I should have on this game just to build advanced decks so I can at least stand a chance against people in the higher ranks. The meta is basically run as many copies of cards that don’t allow the other person to play or get your three 4200 beaters out turn 1. If there was an ability to just play through the story against NPCs all day, it would be way more acceptable, but of course that’s limited by 100 different random currencies, time limits for duelists to “respawn”, just all kinds of money grubbing practices that hurt the game overall and detract from its merits. I initially couldn’t tear myself away from this game, but you quickly realize as the free welcome gifts run out that at its core, this is nothing more than a soulless husk; a cash grab that monetizes you’re lack of patience and unwillingness to suffer through the sweaty salt mine that is the ranked ladder. Stale meta game and slowly introducing paywall is a turnoffI’ve played YGO Duel Links since the near beginning and have had a lot of fun. At its peak, it was a game that was very cerebral, encouraged variety deck building, strategic PVP plays, and enjoyable nostalgic PVE events. But then a series of overpowered cards were released and for a long time the top of the meta game consisted of just a handful of decks; same decks and skills over and over again made the game very stale. Konami finally dropped a new ban list to try to remedy this problem and we’ll see what effect it has when the ban list takes effect. At the same time, Konami has also released the first pay only set of cards (structure deck). This is preceded by structure decks that were purchasable with game currency for the first time around and then with real money only the subsequent purchases. Now I have spent some real money on this game and don’t mind throwing a little support now and then because it’s a well made game. However, locking cards behind a paywall with no option to get the them besides real money sets a very bad precedent and I will not support this business model. I think the game the way it was, all cards obtainable by all players whether it be through cash or grind, is the way to go. It's okay, not great.At first, I liked the idea of the pvp online matches. But they match you against people who have played the game waaaaaay longer. My opponents cards are always superior to mine, which makes the duels severally one-sided and not fun to play. And with the immensely slow process of grinding through the game to get better cards makes it more trouble than it's worth. I can't get one new card, but I get 10 different copies of Beast Fangs. The only way I've been able to win an online match is when the opponent gets card-screwed, or if their wifi drops. But half the time, mine drops too, even when I'm playing right next to my internet modem. The dialogue is useless and doesn't do anything to make the game enjoyable. It's annoying, pointless, and doesn't add anything to the game. My cards get destroyed by card effects that aren't meant to destroy monsters. The targeting system is weak, makes it hard sometimes to target specific monsters in the battle phases. I like the idea of half a board and smaller decks, but I think that should be an option for smaller or larger boards. Shortening the decks makes it harder for strategy-based matches, unless you happen to have every ultra rare card at your disposal. Or, just a thought, make it adaptable to current 2017 rules. In addition to leveling up one character, which takes forever, you get to live the nightmare over and over by doing the same thing with a dozen other characters. Not as entertaining compared to Duel GenerationThis game is Ight but it’s not all that. To me this game is literally a copy of games like Brave Frontier, Bleach, and other anime games that require gems to open “packs”. Saying I can’t submit something from the same form? What? Konami you need to do something about the terrible rng in this game. How am I drawing all monsters in every opening hand when my deck is less than half full of monsters. If I take out any more monsters, you start me with all traps or all spells or something completely unplayable and unenjoyable. It’s gotten really bad as of late. The whole strategy element is gone😭😒😩☹️😡😡😡I wish I could say the game is as good as the well, game (the card game I mean) But the skillfulness has been drained by IAP and using “ structure decks” as crutches. You don’t even have to have a brain you just activate tons of field spells and monster effects to make certain incredibly weak monsters incredibly strong so even if you use your creative deck that doesn’t cost any money and you’re still going to lose regardless of strategy. The opposite of the card game you can cheat in so many ways with money I mean I know that real cards cost money but I can’t help that. For example I fusion summoned an incredibly strong with two thousand nine hundred attack. It’s about to destroy a monster with 1000 attack when my opponent activates about five field spells then it’s attack rises until it’s the same as mine. Do not spend moneyIf you like yugioh you can get enjoyment for a short period of time from this game, however SO NOT spend money on this game do not give konomi money. Here is what happens at high levels of play. Key cards are given values the more essential they are to decks the higher their value. The games algorithim will give you high levels of success at first especially at low rank levels however when you get to higher levels the game will match you with the current meta tier decks and the those high value cards will always be put at the bottom of your deck. This essentially will pretty much guarantee a loss. Psychology it is designed to make your deck seem powerful near unstoppable especially if it is competently built, then you will encounter more and more current tier decks enticing you to spend your hard earned money to buy those decks. Once you have bought them the algorithm goes back to work and gives you multiple wins then again you will encounter other meta level decks enticing you to buy those as well. This is a common tactic made by game companies like konomi, it’s especially seen in shooters and other competitive games and for some reason it’s legal. DO NOT SPEND MONEY HERE, play the game for the temporary enjoyment play with your friends and that’s it, the only way to be good is to spend thousands of dollars don’t fall for there scam..Alexander833Version: 3.7.0

Needs workI love the game of Yu-Gi-Oh and I have since I was a kid, and while this game was fun, there is room for improvement. 1. Not every card is available. While there are a great many cards available and you can make some fun decks. I’ve noticed while playing the game that there are even more cards that are simply nowhere to be found, even with trading in the “card tickets”. I am fine with not every deck or pack being available at the start of the game, but from what I’ve found not all the cards are available at all. I would be happy to be wrong about this but it does not appear that I am. 2. There needs to be more dueling slots. It may seem nit picky to fuss about the number of dueling slots in a mobile game, but if you are going to make a dueling game based on the ACTUAL game, just provide the correct number of dueling slots and make if 5 spaces for spells and traps and 5 spaces for monsters instead of 3, it does not seem like that big of an advancement considering the download size of the game already. 3. From what I understand we don’t actually play in the game with a 40 card deck and we play with a 25 card deck I believe. Pay to win to actually do decent in the game and op metasI regret spending a dime on this game wish I could refund it and then delete this game, this game is fun at first but then you realize you have to pay to win to get decent decks, the metas are too op and spell/trap cards where just having them in your deck can guarantee a win if played right. Destiny hero’s, pray that they don’t start with mask change, they can play drilldark and special summon another monster, they both attack and drilldark has piercing damage so rip to your defense set cards and then the other card can attack too, both doing a lot of damage but then oh they play mask change and summon masked hero aniki and attack the same turn your dead, or you can start by putting aniki and another person out with drilldark, aniki attacks your monster kills it with its large attack and then boom because you killed that monster his ability is you get another mask change then attacks with drill dark 1 and then he uses mask change on him and boom your dead, oh and he can attack directly and that’s just one meta that tons of people use, don’t even get me started on some of the others, if that sounds fun download the game and pay to win because if you don’t good luck getting any where in the game.Liamlukecage1999Version: 3.2.0

Ex decks will make me quitThis game has been “the” phone game I’ve played for the last year and a half. Until now it was entirely f2p with a heavy heavy grind but had plenty of perks to purchases. I have spent some money on the game because I’ve wanted too. That being said, the recent ex structure deck requires real world money to be purchased and has a very good card that will possibly define the meta and make my current deck lackluster without it. I primarily play this game for pvp which means the addition of meta defining content that is locked behind a pay wall will put me at a disadvantage unless I spend money. I’ve spent money on this game before, I love this game, but I don’t want the competitive portion of the game to force me to purchase content to remain relevant. While the ex deck only realistically affects one deck that deck is easily going to become the best one in the entire game. If future content continues to come attached to pay walls I will quite and the majority of my friends that play are in the same page. This is a dangerous tipping point for this app that is already very unfriendly to new players due to the amount of catchup they need to do to reach higher levels of competition. Continued paywall content is going to force new players into spending money to be relevant and push newcomers away. Or to the contrary stronger paywall content will encourage players to only buy specific decks and ultimately will invalidate the f2p community that grinds dozens to hundreds of hours for second rate content. Massive cuts to F2P gemsKonami has decided the gem amount we got from events was too much, and has been drastically cutting the amount you can get from playing the game. Removing it from new character level up rewards, dropping the minimum reward from events from 5 to 1 ( you had a small chance of even getting them already) and gutting the amount we got from events we’ve already had - one going now used to give 600 over a few days, it has since been reduced to 200 over the same time period. They also greatly reduced how much you get from daily log ins, which already wasn’t even enough for a single pack from a box of 200 packs at 50 gems each. On top of the reduced gems they give us, they’ve also decided to increase the number of packs in mini boxes from 80 to 100. These mini boxes were generally the best way for F2P players to have relevant decks for the meta, so naturally it makes sense for Konami to make it harder to get the cards you want from them. It’s ridiculous, and at this point I’m not interested in sticking around to see what else they try to “improve” I would not recommend playing with the directing Konami is taking the game, I would recommend staying away completely and for people already playing to either drop the game or refuse to spend any more money on it..MyfirsnamewastakenVersion: 2.9.0

Terrible BalancingDon’t bother with this game. I was hoping to learn more about Yugioh duels being a huge childhood fan of the original anime. This game is nothing like it; there are so many unbalanced monster effects and stat points now. It takes forever for your opponent to activate effect after effect after effect, and regularly you’re against monsters with 3,000-4,500 atk on turn 1 which makes any deck outside of the top 5 or so feel completely useless. They lost control of the balanceThis game used to be fun, but then they started releasing all these new decks and cards and they can’t seem to maintain the balance. Some decks have an excessive amount of support cards while others, like the Cyber Angel deck remain unsupported. Only recently a new CA card was introduced, but what’s the point of it if there are 1,000 other trap and spell cards released that it’s effects don’t protect it from. “Banishing” a card is so common now, it’s basically the new graveyard but there are no effects that protect you from it because it’s not supposed to be so common. The new link cards can just summon endlessly and draw from the extra deck, and on top of that you face a full back row of spell/traps. It’s like playing against a player with 2 decks. Again, I can’t overemphasize how out of balance this game is. And to top it all off, if you go first, you don’t get to draw a card but the player after you does. I submitted a request last night to recover my account, an account I hadn’t played on in a few months as I deleted the game to save space for vacation photos. It requested all the information about the account that I could remember; including the last duel I played, when I originally downloaded the app, and various other questions. Being as it had been months since I played, I remembered very little, but I gave as much detail as I could have, which was a fair amount. Within an hour, I received an automated email saying my account couldn’t be recovered, an account I’ve spent HOURS on designing decks, playing friends, and killing time on my lunch break. My only explanation would be that I never bought anything through the in-app store on the account, and Konami figured I would continue to not spend money on their game, even if my account was given back.
