𝑬𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑼𝒑𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒎𝒐 𝑪𝒐𝒅𝒆 “𝑹𝟕𝟕𝑷𝑨𝑩” 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒆 𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒏𝒖𝒑 𝒕𝒐 𝒈𝒆𝒕 $𝟏𝟎𝟎! As someone who’s claimed a little over $250 in the past few years since this program’s inception and uses Upside every time for gas, it could and should have been more. Seems about 10% of my offers get the “issues found” remark or go “expired” and no cash back is given and no reason given that’s easily available for me to find. Please tell me what the issues are so that I might not make the same mistake over and over…if it’s in fact my fault or within my control…..and also give the opportunity to fix the issues to receive the offered offer. Sometimes you are required to upload a picture of the receipt immediately, and other times it just says “you’re done”. Please give the option to upload the receipt every time so that it’s not possible for upside to not be able to find the transaction and deny the offed offer. If you pick the wrong card from your wallet you won’t get it either as you must select which card you will use before you pump. Why not associate all of my cards so you can’t miss it? You’ve already got them all stored anyway. There is also fine print that reduces anything upside says they will give in cash back if you have a loyalty card with a business that provides any discount….sometimes to zero cash back from upside. I’ve been happy with it for a few years, but it’s beginning to slide into the “more trouble and disappointment than it’s worth” category…for me anyway!

Not the Lottery, but something for sure!!

I was a bit skeptical about this app for sure when I first heard about it. Like what’s in it for them to give me money for things I am already doing. But if used regularly then it’s a way to make a few extra bucks here and there. Like whenever you know you are going to fill up on gas. You open the app hit gas and it will show you all the places that have cash back offers on gas. Sometimes it’s 7 cent per gallon, sometimes it’s 50 cent per gallon but it’s always something. It pulls up the gas stations and their addresses and directions and how far they are from your current location. You can link your card to the app but it never charges you and I don’t think you have to do it. But if you do it’s so much quicker and easier. Once you decide on which gas station you are going to you “Claim the offer” it gives you like 4 hours after claiming before automatically un-claiming it. After you pay for the gas and pump it you just click “Claimed Offers” it’ll have a thing that says I paid with and then a list of your cards, cash, and Apple Pay.” Whatever you payed with select it then hit submit. It says 2-4 days to process but I’ve gotten all mine same day. You can even get cash back on in-store stuff like drinks and candy. No booze, tobacco, or lottery. But I’ve had it for about 10 days and have made $23 bucks 🤷‍♀️ I’m a delivery driver so it helps. And you are gonna get gas, you have to everyone needs gas. So why not build you up some money by doing things you are already doing?

8 months in and love it

I have had this app for about 8 months and have gotten over $70 back. I drive a diesel, which does give the most return for fill ups. My tank is about 22 gallons and I often am putting in between 15-20 gallons at a time. Most of my claims have been at 25 cents per gallon cash back, though I have had a station here and there ranging from 1-14 cents. I usually get the best deals at my local racetrac. My husband uses mid grade and his deals are less exciting than mine, but in the same amount of time he has still gotten over $50 back because he drives so much for work. When he fills up my car his rewards don’t seem to work unless he changes his setting to specify diesel, so he has had a few times where his cash back couldn’t be processed. I have had that happen 1 time when I drove my moms car and forgot to switch to regular. Every other claim besides that one has worked for me, and I have cashed out a few times already to my PayPal account (there’s also dozens of gift card choices, lots of legit things people actually use). My father and mother both use the app as well and have had success. My mom uses the card recognition feature and the rest of us upload the receipt. My husband had tried the card recognition back in February and it didn’t work right then. Seems to be doing fine now for mom. I referred my dad and he referred my mom. I love the referrals bonuses, and even get small amounts from their referrals. Super awesome app giving back on something I have to purchase anyway. Thanks!

Very disappointed with upside

I used to speak very highly of upside and have not only promoted upside to very one who I talk to about apps but through friends, family as well co-workers I’ve gotten close to two thousand people not only sign up for the app but also use the app as well…. This was all before a mistake was made after being told I would not get credit for a receipt due to it being a prepaid receipt, which I understood that and I thought on my next transaction I would make sure to get all the correct receipts if not from the pump then I would go back inside the gas station for the correct printout but then I got a email from upside stating due to me submitting that receipt my accounts will be frozen and I can’t get any help even though it was a mistake because I have my bank statements to prove my transactions but under there terms they have every right to freeze or unfreeze your account for any reason whatsoever and they said mines a questionable receipt even though I have my bank statements to verify the transaction if it’s questionable but even with it clearly being a mistake because I have proof that theres no issue other then me only getting the prepaid receipt and submitting it. To be fair you really would think after I got almost two thousand new people downloaded, signed up and continue using the upside app to this very day that I would get another chance by unfreezing my account so I don’t lose it! Like I said I have not got any help on appealing this situation which I’m very disappointed in the people who own and run the upside app! I guess loyalty doesn’t mean anything to them.

Love it… but!

First off let me say I do love this app and I’ve saved a lot of money over the years. I use my savings as a piggy bank for when I’m desperate or just want to treat myself to something nice. HOWEVER.. all too often I’ve had to pay inside due to not having “enough” on my debit card. I’m still paying with the card that’s linked. If I don’t ask for a receipt and the pump, for whatever reason, doesn’t give one, the app refuses to acknowledge the payment. If I pay at the pump and it’s out of paper to print a receipt, again, the app refuses to acknowledge the payment. The whole point to paying at the pump is to keep me out of the store, right? I’ve had at least a half dozen fill up’s that the app refused to acknowledge, which is frustrating. The customer service dept at Upside is very helpful and has always been able to find my purchase and credit me my fill up. But why would I need to do all of this emailing and explaining when the app clearly has my card information and can tell I did a fill up? I think the “upload receipt” option needs to go. That might be the issue. So take it in stride I suppose and know going in, you might need to put more effort into the app some days then others. Some days will be a loss if you don’t self advocate. Update: August 2024 The past few times I’ve gone to use the app, it doesn’t work. I get the forever spinning icon. I’ve lost out on cash back due to this. Not what is expected from an app. I can’t even get logged on to cash out my funds. I’m not sure I’ll stick with this much longer.

Legit. Awesome and amazing.

I have been using Upside since November 1, 2025 and have already accrued over $130. I use it every time I buy gas, as well as my whole family. We have all had a good amount of cash back earned. Super easy, and really, there's no reason NOT to use Upside. You've got to buy gas anyways, so it makes sense to get free money back. It's a few simple clicks in the app to claim $$ back. I just used it for the first time at Fresh Market today and before I even got home from the store there was $18 cash back in my account. And that transaction triggered an extra $.20 per gallon off deal - on top of already a $.25 per gallon discount for premium gas at Circle K. So then I gassed up my car and fully expect to see another $7 back in my account within a day or so. ($0.45/gal off of 15 gallons) I've linked my checking account and just now deposited $100 from my Upside into it. I used to drive out of town every week three hours away so I was able to rack up a lot of premium gas cashback but if you just remember to check the app on a daily basis, you'll catch some really amazing deals - like 60% back at Five Guys. I wish there were more places on the Upside app, and hopefully the list will continue to expand, but it's already a pretty good and extensive list (of fuel merchants esp) who participate in the cash back: at the pump, as well as in the store. I also hope that one day you can use multiple rewards programs together- because currently, if you use the gas stations/fuel company's reward program or points, it reduces the cash back amount. It would be nice if one could take advantage of the gas station's rewards program as well as Upside's.

Legit but can be buggy

This app is great with a few caveats. There have been a couple of times that my receipt didn’t have all of the info required, which makes me kind of mad at the retailer. I mean, they know they have this offer on this app. And then they make it so that you can’t claim it? I also don’t like that once I’ve claimed an app I can’t unclaim it. Today I claimed an offer at Popeyes. I only ever use restaurant apps to order fast food. Well, the Popeyes app had a problem, and I couldn’t use it. I would have liked to have been able to unclaim the offer so that I could claim it at a later time. And you can’t check to see if stuff will work beforehand, because you have to claim the offer before you make the purchase, which is irritating. Also, I use air pay for everything. Got a receipt back today, and since I use air pay, it didn’t have the last four digits of my card on the receipt. I chose to upload a receipt instead of using the linked card option because I have had a problem once before with that option. So, you know, it’s a good app. The percentages of cash back that they give you are generally higher than other apps of this type as far as I can see. But the process is still a little buggy here and there. As many times as I have gotten frustrated, trying to use it, I’d give it 3 1/2 stars if half stars were a thing. Since they aren’t, I’ll give it four.

Saves You Money, But Very Frustrating App

It does what it says it does. I’ve saved $40 on gas so far, and this app is free. So that’s very nice. But it’s a very frustrating app to use. The app works fine until it’s time to actually prove to it that you filled up at the gas station with the offer you “claimed”. The app instructs you to tap a button that doesn’t exist on the screen in order to “arrive” at the gas station. So I looked it up online and people say you have to log out and log back in. Then it prompts you with the option to “upload receipt” which is what I do. But now the scanning technology which scans your receipt on the app doesn’t work anymore! So I have to upload a pic instead. Logging out and logging back in after you’ve claimed your offer is what makes it eventually work, but not every time. Sometimes I have to wait a few hours after I’ve completed the transaction before logging out and logging back in will prompt the option to “upload receipt”, which appears to be the only way I can prove to Upside I completed the transaction. It always works eventually, and I’ve saved $40 so far so that really is nice, but the app is buggy and has these issues. I really hope they fix it, it would be a dream to have this app finally just be smooth throughout the whole experience. But as of now it is a chore, they do make you work a bit for the savings.

Potential problems using Apple ID

First of all, I really like the Upside app. I recommend it to others. I’ve maybe earned about $20 so far using it, but have also lost out on about $10 because I can’t get back into the app using my Apple ID to log in. It’s not really the apps fault, but only rated 4 stars because of this circumstance. Here is what happened… I initially created a login with my email address and a strong password and everything was fine for 9 months maybe. Then I started to have to enter my password every time I accessed the app. Apple’s password manager wouldn’t work. I became frustrated finding where I had recorded the password and entering it manually every time I wanted to use the app so I logged out of the app and created. New account using my Apple ID to log in. After three uses and accumulating about $10 in rebates, I would get an error when trying to log in using the Apple ID. Upside support isn’t able to help because they don’t get passed the actual email address Apple uses and passes to the app (I know I’m probably not explaining it right). I tried deleting an reinstalling the app, changing my Apple ID password, but I still get the same error. As far as i know, the account using the Apple ID is gone for good and I no longer can use Apple ID to login to the app at all. Now I’m using Google to log in. Hopefully I don’t encounter something similar with that ID.

Poor Customer Service

There were 2 offers at the same station. However, the LOWER offer (4 cents) was visible ONLY if I zoomed in on the map while the HIGHER offer (8 cents) was visible in a plain search. This is a deceptive practice. I only realized this because when I saw the payout it was much lower than the offer. So I went back to the app to make sure and the 8 cent offer was still there. However, there was also a hidden offer at the same station only visible if you zoomed in as far as possible on the map. If that’s not clear then imagine if I put up a large sign that says “8 cents back on every gallon!” Then you fill your tank only to realize the next day that you only received 4 cents back. You come back to check the sign and indeed it says 8 cents. However, when you closely inspect it you see a tiny little sign that says 4 cents back—two offers at the same station, one plainly visible and another hidden from view. This is EXACTLY what happened with the app and it’s deceptive. However, I wasn’t even paid 4 cents, it was 3 cents. This is extremely deceptive. When I contacted customer service about it they blew me off and told me that the payment (of 3 cents) was made and if I had additional questions go to the FAQ page. Nice.

Great App

I love Upside! I get cash back on most of my gas purchases, and it does add up - not like they claim in the commercial but still. They also have cash back inside gas stations and other stores. It’s simple to use and doesn’t cost me anything. I gave it 4 stars only because half the time (lately), the app doesn’t select a payment method, and I end up having to upload a receipt. I wouldn’t normally have a problem with that except one of the gas stations I go to is chronically out of paper and the receipts don’t print. I get gas on my way to work in the mornings and don’t have time to run in and wait for them to print a receipt. I expect if it’s gonna tell me it will print a receipt, that I should get a receipt. While that is not Upside’s fault, it could be avoided if the app selected a card each and every time so that I didn’t have to upload a receipt. The other issue I’ve had is that when it does select a payment method, it usually selects my backup method. I go in and manually change it to my other card, but if I have to switch apps, it goes back to the former payment method it selected instead of the one that I selected. I have not been awarded cashback because of that. However, that didn’t only happen once because now I’m diligent in making sure that the correct payment method is showing before I complete the transaction.

Deceiving (edited)

I chose to fill up my Jeep at a Casey’s on June 9th. The Walmart gas station was about $.40/gal cheaper, but Upside showed Casey’s having an offer of something around $.40/gal cash back (I can’t remember the exact amounts, but it was close to this). I put 17 gallons in my Jeep. Today, on June 15th, 6 days later, Upside finally processed the offer. Except it was processed at Casey’s current offer of $.06/gal cash back. The only reason I chose Casey’s over Walmart with that price difference was for the cash back because it made it worth it. What an absolute scam that was. When we use this app it makes us scan our receipt to include the time and date of the purchase. I would expect part of that to mean we are locked in at the offer that was valid at the time of our purchase. When I tried to find a way to contact Upside about this, all I found was the useless FAQ section that never actually answers the question. I even tried chatting with the bot that answers automatically and the bot didn’t have an answer either. This was only my second time using this app and it may be my last if this is how it deceives you. Especially with no customer service. EDIT I was finally able to reach customer service. After a few emails back and forth, they agreed to fix my issue and the proper amount was added to my account.

Worth it!

In 2 years and 3 months, I have gotten $519 cask back. We travel the country pulling a THOW with a diesel truck and Upside participating gas stations have been found at about 90% of our stops and along our routes. We’ve also used Upside at some restaurants and grocery stores with 98% success. Had one issue where a restaurant used online receipts and it didn’t have all of the info Upside requires to process the receipt properly. So make sure restaurant uses in-store receipts or your charge is automatically looked up by Upside in the restaurant’s system (blue pentagon symbol with a lightning bolt in it on the opportunity listing in the app). There are restrictions/limitations with each kind of cash back opportunity, but they are easily found in the app for each establishment for you to read and assess for yourself if the opportunity is worth it or not. It’s a free app so it’s not like you are losing money if the opportunity isn’t right for you. Using the establishments where Upside automatically finds your charge makes this the most user friendly, free cash back app I have ever used and fortunately the number of establishments where that occurs has increased dramatically in the 2 years I have been using it. Totally worth the effort!

Excellent Customer Service from personal experience

It’s like a free fill up every now and then. Works great ! Now a bit of warning from personal experience. When having to upload receipts, just upload it and click attach receipt then a few days later you get the cash back without any issues. Where i went wrong was when I decided to review my receipts after the upload. This is where I checked boxes to questions if the receipt had time, location, address, etc. I checked some boxes but couldn’t check the box about time because my receipt didn’t have time on it and because of that I didn’t get cash back for that receipt. It created a issue of receipt not matched. But if you just upload the receipt then click attach receipt, EVERYTHING works out perfectly. Don’t try to do more than that like I did and then caused more headaches for myself blaming the software or the company for the issues when it was my fault from the beginning….oops my bad! (I say excellent customer service from personal experience because through out the whole time of trying to figure out my issues, the customer service team was very helpful, kind, and courtesy to me)

Almost perfect. Great value.

I’ve been using Upside for a few months now. I started using it for gas and that’s a really good deal. Then when I bought my electric car, I didn’t need the gas feature anymore. Now I use Upside for the great deals at restaurants. There’s some that pay really high percentage back. My only reservation with giving it five stars is that sometimes the deals are hard to find on the map. There should be a preference for whether you want to search for gas or restaurants. Most of the time Upside is suggesting gas stations when I don’t need that option anymore. When I tap on the map, I want to look for restaurants by default. Another glitch that sometimes happens is I see a deal on the map for cashback at a restaurant and then when I get to the restaurant sometimes it has disappeared. A pinch and zoom on the map to look for it and it’s nowhere to be found. Sometimes it comes back later after I’ve left the restaurant. That’s happened at least once. Sometimes restaurants will discontinue offering cash back through Upside. But there are some restaurants that offer it consistently every single week. So this app is almost perfect with a few fixes. I’ve earned at least $100 back already. Pretty amazing! More places should offer deals with Upside.

Legit But Ads are Misleading

I’ve been using this app for quite a few years. I hear ads for it on the radio and in games all the time. They make it sound like you can use it at every gas station. That’s not the case. Only select gas stations will offer cashback and it’s never offered at grocery store company gas stations (Kroger, Meijer, Harris Teeter, Walmart, etc.). Frequently, the participating gas station prices are over-inflated compared to competing gas stations that don’t offer cashback via the app. A lot of times, the cashback offers at participating gas stations are only $0.1 - 0.5/Gal. which is either equal to or less than what most major gas companies offer just by enrolling in their loyalty program (Shell, BP, Speedway, Marathon, etc.). Also, the ads always mention being able to use it at grocery stores. That’s just not true. It’s never offered for any major grocery store company like Kroger, Walmart, Publix, etc. One more thing of note is that the ads always feature someone saying they’ve made $200+ off the app. I’ve been using it since like ~2015. I have yet to make it to $200. But, it is legit. Depending on the availability of participating gas stations, your balance will eventually accumulate to a decent amount. But don’t hold your breath.

No reason NOT to use this app!

That saying “ things in life aren’t free”, well that’s not true when it comes to Upside. It’s a no brainer everyone should use it. Once set up it takes 2 secs to claim where you’re getting your gas, groceries or restaurant. . Make sure you have the correct card you’re using on the screen when you finish your purchase. This is one and only thing I’d like seen added. This is what I told their chat AI when I realized this morning I hit submit and it had an old debit card on there. I tried immediately to correct it only to find out you can’t. So when I was asking AI if it was possible to change it he said no unfortunately and so this is what I put “they need to add that feature. Becaue it was confusing when it said “verify debit card” and so I thought I was being taken to my wallet to choose which card I used but it didn’t. It said thank you and was done. So it was confusing. I didn’t noticed it show the 4 digits of my card until I hit send and realized it was the wrong card. I feel the app developers need to add the feature to be able to change the debit card immediately after submitting it. Just my opinion anyway.

Why are you still paying full price like a clown?

Listen, let’s be for real for a second. You’re already out here buying gas. You’re already hitting the drive-thru. You’re already at the grocery store. And I know for a fact you’re the type of person who stays at the credit card machine an extra 10 seconds trying to remember your "loyalty phone number" just to save four cents. So why the hell are you not using Upside? It is literally 2026. Not using this app today is like saying you don’t believe in the internet or that you still use a flip phone to check the weather. We live in America—the land of the penny-pinchers and the home of the "buy one, get one free" obsession. We love saving money, yet some of y’all are still out here handing over full price like you’re donating to a billionaire’s yacht fund. It’s not a scam; it’s just math. You open the app, you claim an offer, and you get cold, hard cash back for stuff you were buying anyway. It’s "free money" for the price of tapping your screen twice. If you’re still "thinking about it," you’re just being a hater at your own expense. Bottom line: Stop being a "donator" and start being a saver. Download Upside, get your money, and stop acting like a caveman who hasn't discovered fire yet.

Hopeful but still some glitches but better.

Update, I have since given this a second chance. It has paid me on several transactions. However, the last two offers claimed that I would receive a 20 cent a gallon bonus. That didn’t happen on the first transaction and the second transaction is pending, we’ll see. I drive a lot and thought that getting cash back would be beneficial. I filled up twice in two days. I followed the directions and the app history says both are processing. One was six days ago and the other was four days ago. The app states that normally the cash back will post in four days. I even received a email from the app stating that it was taking longer than expected. However the app also states that after ten days it will be impossible to process the payment. Needless to say, my first experiences with this app has been a bit disappointing. Update, I never received confirmation that I bought fuel on my first two transactions. I contacted the app help line. Then I received two emails stating that I would not get credit for ether transaction. I will be deleting this app and going back to GasBuddy. I consider this a case of classic bait and switch. Stay away unless you want to jump through hoops.

I shared this app with everyone, unfortunately!

The offer I clicked on and claimed was that I will receive .23 cash back on fuel at BP gas station so I went and filled up. After submitting my receipt for the gas I went into the store and made a purchase as well which was also cash back but your supposed to submit both receipts at the same time so that has caused an issue I’m not sure how to resolve because now it looks like I’ve submitted 2 receipts for gas and one for in store in which I didn’t mean to do but hopefully they will see it’s the same gas receipt…. Surely!!! Back to my .23 cent cash back I thought I was getting… HUGE LIE! It shows after submitting the receipts, I’m only getting 10 cents back per gallon so where I thought I was getting such a good deal on gas I did NOT! You do not get the offer you actually claim and then in extremely light print it says if you don’t receive your cash back within 10 days you will not receive it. Most receive theirs in 3-4 days. It’s been 6 days and I’ve received nothing so far so it’s not looking good for me to even get the the 10 cents much less the 23 cents offer I actually claimed. So this app is false information and you don’t know what you’ll receive IF ANYTHING AT ALL!!!! 😡

Used to be good til it stopped working! Updated

Just like the title says. It was good at first but hasn’t worked since October of last year. They keep doing updates but failing to fix the issue of their instant check in. There is no other way to upload a receipt so since November the app has failed to work. Wish they would at least allow us to upload a receipt manually since the instant check in doesn’t work. So it’s a pointless app now. Waste of space on my phone. Too bad. —-updated—- Okay so they updated FINALLY and digital purchases are able to print a receipt and upload - only took them 8 months - but they refused to honor the credit card statements I sent them - at the request of their customer service - from Oct 2020 to May 2021. I was initially told that even the old receipts would be honored if I sent the credit card statements but then when I did send them they said it’s too late - those were old purchases. Which was EXACTLY why I sent them (& was told to send them). Clearly their customer service people aren’t communicating properly to public OR within their own org. So their customer service is less than poor but when the automated app works as it should - at least it works as it should.

Not a bad deal

I’ve been using the app for a couple of years now and so far I’ve had no issues or complaints. It’s not something that’s going to make you a substantial amount of money but the thing about it is that when you hear the ads saying things like “you’re already spending the money anyway” that’s absolutely true. The particular offer that you get at any one given time may not amount to more than one dollar on the fill up but you’re getting the gas regardless so why not get that dollar back out of it? It’s an effortless thing to use as well. Once it’s set up, all you have to do is open the app, select the offer for where you’re at, and once you’re done getting your gas and/or other merchandise from inside, you just tap that you’ve paid and that’s it. It may take a day or two to reflect on your balance but it has always been there every single time. Also, when it comes to taking your balance out, that is also completely legitimate and also effortless. One time I withdrew mine to the Walmart card and it came just as it should have and I was able to spend it there. Every other time I’ve withdrew funds, it’s always been to my bank account but it has always arrived without any issues. Honestly I wish I had started using the app sooner because I’ve really liked it so far. Even if you decided that you didn’t like it for whatever reasoning, you could always just delete it. But considering it’s money being spent regardless, you might as well get something back from it because it does add up into dollars. You could even pretend it’s not there and accumulate it all year and withdraw to apply to Christmas money or apply to a vacation once a year. Like I said, it’s not necessarily major amounts, but it does add up if you use it regularly and without it, you’re getting nothing back on what you’re already spending. Seriously, give it a shot!

Looks like it’s stopped paying... again 🙄

I’ve been using this app almost daily since February. I drive almost 200 miles a day so I buy a lot of gas and always use this app when I do so. For the most part it works great. I get gas and usually within a day I’ve got my reward. However, sometimes the payments stop coming. They will back up for days on end. Usually when this happens I’ll eventually get some lame excuse on why my payment cannot be processed. I’ve noticed this problem has gotten worse since they’ve added more stations where you “check in” instead of uploading your receipt. Right now it’s Aug. 22. I have three “processing” transactions from the 20th, 19th, and 17th. And before a reply comes to this review, I want to say that whenever I claim a deal, I sync the GetUpside map to my phone map and have it direct me to the exact station that is supposed to be the one I’ve claimed according to your own app. I check in and select my card as soon as I arrive before I pump my fuel. And I only have one card on file. This is getting frustrating and I hope the developers fix whatever is going on. I’m starting to lose faith in this app.

Upside: Gas & Food Cash Back Negative Reviews and Ratings

Better than not using it

Perhaps 30 to 40% of the time (guessing off the top of my head, not a calculation) I go into the app to look at my activity, and my transactions are either listed as processing or needs review, and the transaction was never located by upside. I use the same card every time, linked to the same bank account, but there is some missing link somewhere in the software that checks the bank for the transaction and links it to the pumping at the pump, and I don’t get my money. And you can forget about trying to enter your phone number at the pump to get a discount at the pump, Upside has an even harder time finding in processing those transactions. The fine print will tell you that you still save money putting in your phone number at the pump and getting the reduced cashback from Upside, but only approximately 1/3 of those transactions end up getting any cash back at all, and I end up doing better at the end of the day just not entering my phone number at the pump. to their credit, I am essentially getting cash back for doing nothing, or hardly anything at all, and I have cashed out and I do end up getting the money, the app just does not work as well as it should trying to link my transactions at the pump to the transactions that appear in my bank account. Update: there are literally dozens of missed transactions since I’ve been using Upside; I do not have the time to open a case and contact support for each individual transaction.

App works well for gas, not so for groceries

When I first started using the app, I was only really using it for cash back for gas. For that, I thought this app just works smoothly. However, since they've added Cub Foods to the options for cash back on groceries, it's horrible. Almost every single receipt that I submit for cash back on groceries doesn't work. Then you get stuck in the loop of constantly contacting customer service, wait, the customer service rep "re-submits" your receipt, wait...then you end up not getting the cash back anyway. So, in short, I thought the app would be more worthwhile since they added my normal grocer to the list and I don't have to go out of my way to get cash back on groceries. But it turns into a big mess in the long run, and is not worth the hassle. Update: I think this app has some major problems, because as I am still using the app, the percentage cash back has become less and less. My normal grocery store had offers originally for 17-18% cash back and now it’s been stuck at 1% cash back for a month now. I did submit my most recent receipt to hopefully get the 1% back, but no surprises here, I am still waiting to see that come through and it’s been 5 days. Honestly, they claim that people save $300 on average a year on groceries, but that seems hard to believe when there are so many problems with receiving cash back or when the % cash back offered is so low. The amount of time from when the receipt is submitted to receiving the cash back needs to be much quicker.

Complicated

I claimed an offer for cash back at a gas station I don’t normally go to so I could save about $1/gallon, which sounded great! Several days after that, I got an email saying my cash back was delayed and could take another week. It’s supposed to take 3-5 days after the transaction. When I checked the app a few days after that, it said my cash back had expired. I reached out to the support team to get my money, and they ended up crediting me for about $0.25/gallon, which was way less than the offer I claimed. They said it was because they had to do it manually since there was a problem with my receipt upload, but they said I’d be able to use the $0.75/gallon bonus on my next purchase to get a total $1/gallon cash back. However, I don’t trust that the same thing won’t happen again because when I asked them how to avoid this issue in the future, they gave me a vague response that was basically just instructions on using the app. I’m debating whether to give them another chance the next time I need gas. Also, you’re required to have $10 of cash back before you can transfer the money to your bank or redeem a gift card, which is pretty dumb. UPDATE: I tried again with the same $0.75/gallon bonus and…got nothing. My transaction shows as expired in the app after weeks of processing. I have reached out to support again in hopes of getting enough cash back to cash out and be done with this app.

Deceptive and slow

Don’t waste your time. Use the rewards offered by the station itself. She’ll provides 5 cents automatically if you buy enough gas over time which anyone working would. Then I’m store purchases can offer much more, T-Mobile Offers 10 cents each week you can use between Tuesday and Friday, then use the pay from your checking account feature directly and you don’t even have to put your card in the pump just select the pump online for another 30 cents all off the price you pay. So that’s 25 cents automatically without any in store rewards. Upside is deceptive as they show you the offer and when you get there and no check in available you must upload the receipt which then they tell you you’re at the wrong station. Here in rural Michigan there is never more than a single offer and a single station so there was no mistake in address. They take far to long to clear the check in purchases over 4 or 5 days, have no customer service to reach out to and don’t care if you get what they promise. They provide more than one offer at a single station but the. The fine print doesn’t match and you can’t figure out how to accept the higher offer. Then your not paid what the promise was. Take your cash back and Divide it by the gallons and you’ll most likely find as I did you got only 3 cents. You can get that automatically without all this hassle if you just sign up for the station rewards and that’s off the pump price without for some credit you may or may not get. DONT WASTE YOUR ENERGY OR TIME.

The app is so bad and glitchy

The cash back options for gas are nice, I definitely think they could give a higher ¢ amount back per gallon though. However truly the worst thing is how glitchy and crappy the app is. It is so user unfriendly and glitchy that it is honestly my least favorite app, however it’s the only gas cashback program I know of. If the app itself was better, I don’t think that using Upside would be so stressful, time-consuming and tedious. The app consistently has gas station locations wrong, and will drop me off a mile away from the actual gas station. The screen that reloads with the map of gas stations participating in Upside takes a very long time, and will constantly zoom away from your physical location to areas behind where you have traveled. The app does not stay on the same page, so when you click to get directions to a gas station and then click back to try to verify that it’s right or claim the cash back, the entire app refreshes and you have to find the station again. It’s also very frustrating that the app takes about 30 seconds to load, went off and you’re trying to find a gas station on the fly and by the time that you can see an actual station and claim some thing, you’ve already missed the exit. Overall, upside could really revamp this app and make it better, but right now it is just absolutely lacking and quite frustrating to use.

Cheated out of $.20 per gallon

I got gas the other day at a station I normally don’t go to. The only reason I want is because Upside was offering $.27 per gallon cashback. That brought the price down to less than I would pay where I normally get gas so I decided to take the offer. I get an email today saying that I was rewarded only seven cents per gallon. Of course Upside has no customer service so I had to talk to their chat bot. He told me there could’ve been rewards used on the purchase. I checked my receipt that was not the case. then he said maybe it was the wrong location. I checked the receipt and it was the correct location. Then it said maybe my debit card was not on file. But I’ve used it on Upside since I received that card. I checked in the wallet settings on the app and the card was listed there, but I noticed that every one of my cards had a red warning next to it asking me to please re-enter the information. Why was I not notified that I had to re-enter anything? And why was that even a thing? So, as a result, I will be sharing my experience with all of my friends and family as well as on social media. This is absolutely unacceptable. There should’ve been an email or something notifying me that I have to update my card information. Better yet, there should’ve been a pop-up in the app letting me know that there was an issue.I am very dissatisfied. I don’t expect anybody to get back to me because they don’t believe in customer service, so I will just leave this here and on social media.

Not worth it

I usually don’t write reviews but I thought you guys should know. If you just look in your area for like a Argo, space age, or other cheap gas stations you’ll get more in return. Why would you pay $4 dollars for gas so you can get $.05 back when you can pay $3.75 and save some on top? Not all gas stations are available and I see it’s mostly shells and high end gas stations. If you’re already using premium then this app wouldn’t even be enough profit to motivate using it. A fill up would be not even a dollar. Maybe if you’re a trucker you can get some good use but so far no use for me. I used to not care if I paid $38 or $36 at the pump cause to me gas was pretty much the same anywhere but if you start looking you’ll get more in reward than this app gives you. I think this app gets paid by high end gas stations to direct traffic to them and we both get a kickback in the form of nickels but really if you do some looking and make it a point to fill up at that gas station each minding morning or Sunday night or whatever your schedule is but prepare so you don’t run low away from your gas station. Just find one and stick to it if you’re wanting to save money. Stop making other people rich and their ideas. They’re literally paying you to shop at shell and it looks enticing because they’re rewarding us but honestly you can save more by looking for a cheap alternative in your city. Like I said did not see the econo spots at all. Pretty sure they’re driving traffic to the mark up gas stations.

Bait & drive the customer crazy App

I used this app a few times and received emails confirming money that I earned. when I press the app open. I do not get any opportunity to sign in. It just shows me a search bar to search for nearest gas stations. Find one get the gas in a timely fashion and then when I go back to see my history it says I have no money in my account despite the fact that I have emails showing me how much cash back I’ve earned I have tried multiple times to update my app and it says it’s updated. I get no opportunity to sign in when I open my app. It’s not registering any purchases to me. I recently opened The app & chose the gas station. The pump was broken would not take my credit card so I went into the station and asked for a receipt. Unfortunately, their clock on the computer not synced with my app so my receipt showed that I purchased gas BEFORE I accepted offer which is not true I still can’t find a way to sign in to my account when I choose a gas station and I’m ready to give up after reading all the negative comments here my time is worth more than the $.42 that I’m never going to see after I’m cheated by receiving 6cents back if anything at all. I’m frustrated and embarrassed by recommending this app to anyone I know. If you run a decent business then you will have customer service receive phone calls. working through bot that just gives me the same answer over and over again that goes nowhere is worthless the best thing that could happen is that people Stop using this app and shut s it down.

Doesn’t live up to promises

I have used this twice. The first time, the price at the pump was $.15/gal over what the app listed, so I drove a few miles out of my way through construction and heavy traffic to claim my first reward only to find it was only a few cents per gallon off of what I could have gotten without going out of my way. The station it routed me to not only charged me more than the app listed, the bathrooms were shut down so I had to backtrack to the gas station I normally use just to use the bathroom and bought something there just to not feel guilty for using their bathroom. Also the station they sent me to did not have a working card reader at the pump, so I had to go in during a pandemic and the person working there did not wear a mask or take precautions. I did learn that I will never use that station again. The app also has no option to rate the station to warn others away. The second time I used the app, this time at a different station, I never got the rebate promised. I got a message after a couple days saying it was taking longer than expected. It has now been two weeks and still nothing. I will likely delete this app since it is not fulfilling its promises. In preparation, I decided to cash out the $3.11 that it did credit me for the first stop, only to discover that they charge $1 to process the payment. So, over all, it actually cost me more money and time to use this app than if I had just followed by usual buying patterns. I am still waiting on that second rebate. It will probably cost more to cash it out than to not get it at all though.

Upside is Upchuck

So I had an account that I totally forgot about and when I attempted to sign back into their app, I couldn’t remember which email address I used so I ended up signing in with a couple of the ones I had until I realized which one it was. The one that I signed into, I attached my debit card too in order to be able to use it. So I went to use it and I was waiting for my cashback balance to update. For the first couple of days it said that it would be coming soon and then all of a sudden I got a “delayed” message. So I wrote to their customer service and they informed me that I had multiple accounts open and did I do that. I told them that unfortunately I did while I was trying to figure out which email address I used when I opened the original account. I asked them to possibly cancel the other ones so I could use this one and get my cashback balance. Today I was informed that their terms of service prohibits multiple accounts and that they are suspending my account and canceling any cashback that I was offered. In my opinion upside is a little too self important. My response to them was less than gracious, and I have gone on my social media to let all my friends know that they should delete their upside account and delete the app totally. We can do much better than upside. Upside is garbage! I told them what they could do with their service and their terms of service. You can use your imagination.

App Has Gone Downhill - the WORST!!!

I never write reviews on anything but this needs to be said. I have had this app for about 3 years now and when I first got it, it was so simple to use and the app used to let you upload your receipt immediately after you claim/use the offer; however, now it does not let you do so. It takes nearly 2 weeks to find out whether your cash back was approved, and if they deny it, the app does not notify you - the only notification you receive is one that says it is taking a little longer than expected to process your cash back. I was told pee customer service, it is essentially my job to continuously check the app until you receive an update (which, if it takes up two weeks, realistically, you are bound to forget sometimes with all of the other things you handle in a two week period). Additionally, for the past 5-6 months, every single transaction (yes every single one, I have screenshots) I’ve made on this app has been denied and if an offer has expired, you are out of luck. I have to hold onto receipts for nearly a month and have had to contact customer service for each transaction since each one of them is denied (let me also point out that I go to the same two gas stations both of which are listed on the app). I literally hate this app. I don’t know what kind of updates they’ve done to it, but it’s more frustrating to use than it should be.

Good when it works but not consistent

I have been using this app for over a year. I only use it when I go to the same gas station every week to get gas. Recently beginning in October I started having issues with getting the cash back. Either the receipt would sit in their que for too many days and then it would come back as “expired” and I wouldn’t get my cash back. Another common issue is that I will claim an offer and submit the receipt. It will take 10+ days for them to review my receipt and then I will get a message that says “error found: we were not able to find a purchase that matched your submitted receipt.” Like what?? That makes no sense. I only go to the same gas station every week and it’s listed on your app and I claimed the offer. How can you say the purchase didn’t match my receipt when it has the address on it? I get the same receipts everytime I go and they all contain the same info so why will one be accepted one week but not the next? You also have the issue where if the gas pump is out of receipt paper and you go inside to get a receipt, it will be missing either the address or card information you used and then your receipt will get rejected so you can’t use it. Since October, I have submitted 8 cash back requests that have either “expired” due to the receipt not being reviewed by upside in a timely manner OR I have gotten the error message saying they were not able to find a purchase to match my receipt. So crazy. I never had these issues before in the first year of using the app and I haven’t changed anything that I am doing. I go all the same places and submit the same receipts I get.

Your app doesn’t work for me

It’s sad to say but since I have had this app it’s really hard to use on my phone. But my husband has the same app and his works fine mine has crashed on me a few times! And now I have been trying to sign in and it keeps saying that I have the wrong password and email address! But it not. So I have lost my money on here and now I’m going to lose money again because I can’t sign in!!!! Hi I just wanted to add to this email about the problem I have getting on your app! Like I said above, there are times it may work for me but I have had many problems with this app, like last time it’s saying that my email address is incorrect and my password is invalid! Like it’s done before, but my husband helped me get it fixed the first and second time, this happened before! But this time he has tried but it still doesn’t work! all of my information is correct and I have tried to update it and delete it but when I try to get back into my account saying the same thing? I have lost my money on the last time and now I guess I am going to lose it again! I don’t know if anyone else has this problem with the app! But since you’re app doesn’t want to ever work for me I think it’s best for me to just stop using it! And it’s really annoying because I do most of the shopping and I really liked the idea of getting some of my money back! But I don’t have time to spend trying to figure out how come it’s not working out for me! But I have tried to do almost everything to make it work but it’s not i wish I had gotten the money back before it happened!

Cheap and slow

They charge you a whole dollar to cash out to PayPal unless you are cashing out $15 or more or getting a gift card. Then when you do cash out they give to a notification that states it will take 24-48 hours to transfer your money to PayPal. First of all I know it doesn’t cost them a dollar to cash out small amounts. They say they’re passing SOME of that cost on to us, so they would have us believe that it costs them more than a dollar to transfer funds. Second, if they’re going to charge a whole dollar to transfer to PayPal then they could at least do it quicker than 24-48 hours after you cash out. PayPal only takes 2% and they transfer immediately (30 minutes tops). Lastly, this app is full of bugs. The first time I claimed an offer the app told me I had 4 hours to upload a receipt from the gas station I selected. Once I got to the gas station and pumped my gas the app suddenly crashed and logged me out. I’ve had this app for months before I actually used it and it had never logged me out before. When I tried to log back in it told me my info was incorrect. So now I had to play the log in game. Once I finally got logged back on I uploaded my receipt and the app told me I should see what my cash back would be in 24-48 hours. Then it told me 3 different discount amounts that I would be getting. This app needs A LOT of work.

Upside refuses to let me have the money I supposedly saved. It’s a big rip off.

I tried several times to cash out. I followed the instructions on the site, linked it to my bank account and was told that I’d receive a confirmation email, and that I would need to click on the link in there to activate the transfer. I clicked on the link in the email as instructed and, it stated that I could only do this on a mobile device. Well, I was doing it on mobile device! I tried it several times, always on a mobile device. There was nothing to click on after getting that error message. I navigated to the help section on the app, and wrote in about my problem and asked for help and no one ever got back to me. It’s such a freaking waste… Going out of your way to save a few pennies per gallon and then you can’t even get your money that they say you’ve accumulated. Not only that, but I get these promotions saying that if I buy X amount of times in one month, I will get $.12or $.15 off per gallon on my next Phillip and guess what… I fill up 15 gallons of gas and then I earn a whole freaking $.42 from Upside for it. Bunch of liars. I hope somebody from Upside reads this and can tell me how to how I can get my money. I can’t find a phone number anywhere on the Internet for Upside customer service and obviously no one’s reading the messages that come in to the Support site. I would get this zero stars if I could.

Bait and switch

I was offered a discount of 15 cents per gallon at a shell gas station. I also had another 10 cent per gallon bonus that was to be applied to this purchase. When I got the cash back they changed the offer to 1 cent and said this was because I received 5 cents off for my shell card. The thing is I only received 11 cents per gallon back from upside when I would have received 25 cents had I not used my shell card. They say the maximum amount that would be deducted is the 5 cents per gallon but then how did it drop all the way to 11 cents per gallon? That’s lower then my original offer by itself, and half what I should have received with my bonus. They basically used my bonus to pay the cash back that I was originally offered which is so shady and scammy. There’s a name for this exact practice and it’s called bait and switch. I decided to report this situation to the BBB and recommend everybody does for these illegal business practices. Also one time I drove super far to a gas station to use upside, just to realize that the price at the gas station was significantly higher then what they had listed. Everything about this app is scammy and they also collect a ton of information from you. Update: “new as we provide in social media is limited” developer response doesn’t even make sense and is obviously just a bot response to make it look like they’re working on fixing your problem.

Horrible response and service

I downloaded the app and went to create an account. When I went to login I accidentally hit the login with Facebook instead of login with email. I do not want Facebook to have access to my spending habits. I tried to change the login to no avail. I deleted the app and tried again but got an error message that I had previously logged in with Facebook. I sent an email per the app and waited. And waited. And waited. The only response I got was an immediate one linking me to a page I had already seen that shared “I connected with Facebook what do I need to know?” I had read this already and it confirmed I would not use the app with the Facebook login. I responded and let them know that answer did not help. Template response it was being forwarded to the correct department. It’s now been over a week. Maybe Facebook pays the developers for every user that logs in with Facebook granting them unknowingly access to more information than they already have but I won’t be taken. Not worth the few cents I can get on another app. If they don’t want to help a brand new user setup their account so they can use it then they clearly have enough users and don’t want more. I find this app to be shady and the developers to be flakes. DELETE or DO NOT DOWNLOAD. Something is going on with Facebook and this app. 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 UPDATE: developer responded telling me to “reach out and they are ready to assist”. I am still waiting for a response to several emails where they said the same thing. Now more lies??? Nope. BEWARE!

I REALLY wanted to like this app.

I commute 700 mile per week. So believe me when I say that I really wanted to like this app. I just tried my third attempt at using the app....1/3 attempts worked great but I have learned a little so I thought share a review.I gave it two stars because the concept and the ease-of-use for the app is really exceptional. The app is not too bulky and very straight forward. I love that you don’t have to give them all this personal info just to use the app. However, that’s pretty much where the benefit stops. With a little home work you can find out which gas stations will offer some savings. Not all the one listed will actually save you money. The problem is that so many of the gas stations that I see listed on this app are seriously depleted businesses. I’m not talking about cleanliness. I mean the pumps are broken, printers don’t work, gas is awful and causes your car to run rough... Today (for example) the only station that would offer me an actual savings only had 2 out of the 12 pumps that were operating. And they both had people parked at them while they stood inside talking and doing whatever. Not worth the $1.00 total savings to try to convince them to let me pump my gas. In the end.....they have plenty of credit cards that earn points that will convert into gift cards. Get one of those, be responsible with it, and get your gas wherever you feel like.

Keep getting ‘Expired’

Update: If you like to use an app that doesn’t work well and like to troubleshoot it for them and like to try and work with customer service to fix things, then this is the app for you ! I received a reply from the developer. That was nice, at least they’re paying attention. However, they pointed me to an article about why something might be declined or expired, and also said I could contact customer service. I’ve done this before, maybe I should try again, but contacting them has never proven to be worth my time. If the app tells me that I don’t need to upload anything, then what is there for me to do? I used the credit card on file, like it said. All of my recent incidents have said I don’t need to upload anything. What else do you expect from a “free“ app that makes their money off of selling users’ information and probably something with the merchant? Original: I follow the instructions and i have several where i didn’t have to do anything, it would automatically do whatever it does. Of the 8 times I have used this so far since November. 3 have expired somehow and two are still processing (dec 2nd). They shouldn’t say there is no need to upload receipts if they don’t have the process figured out. Even when I do have to upload and all the info is there, it often doesn’t work. More and more I feel like it is some version of Bait and Switch.

Scam. So disappointed.

Let me start by saying that I drive 80 miles one-way to and from my job every day. Yes, you read that right. 160 miles a day. As you can imagine, gas really adds up! So when I heard the ads for Upside on the radio, I figured I would give it a try. As a vet tech and nursing student, every little bit helps! Lo and behold, this app turned out to be a massive disappointment. I submitted two receipts after filling up my tank, WHILE parked at the gas station I had chosen to claim my offer at, and the receipts could not have been clearer in terms of the details Upside requires. In fact, I still have them. When I went back to check on my cash back, I received a message that “they were not able to find a purchase that matched my receipt. Unfortunately you cannot receive cash back unless we match your receipt to transaction data provided by the business.” I’m sorry, but ??? Despite going through every step as prompted, guaranteeing all data was, and even having Google-mapped the gas station’s address to make sure it matched their app’s data (I’m a stickler for detail) - this is their excuse for not issuing me credit for nearly $90 in gas. But, they got free access to my location, name, date/time and amount of purchase, AND the last 4 digits of my debit card. And of course their “customer service” is a bot who is of no real help. Please, PLEASE save yourself the trouble and protect your information, and utilize the cash-back rewards for gas on your personal credit cards. I cannot believe I fell for it, but better to know now before I keep uploading.

Good luck getting paid more than 50% of the time.

Seven days I will get my cash back within 24 hours, but only if it is like $2. I’ve been using this app for close to a year now and one time they owed me $14 and said they could not find the card that I used even though it was in my wallet. Now they owe me like $9 and it has been 10 days with no processing. Customer Service said it will take 7 to 10 days even though the app says 2 to 4 days and I think it happens to be a strong coincidence that they have no problem giving you pocket change, but anything over two dollars will take a tremendous amount of time or they won’t pay you at all. My last response from Customer Service was that we are still tracking the transactions. I have no idea what that means because I used the cards in my wallet that are stored on the app. The truth about this company is that they don’t want to give you any real money and I think it is a joke that they said I’ve saved $36 this year that’s a half a tank of gas. And what economy 1989? Cost over $100 to fill up a pick up truck. Beware because the second time I tried to contact customer support, and I got no response as they do not care about their consumers. All they care about is their advertising which they have obviously dumped a bunch of money into where the woman saying she saves $200. I doubt it because they don’t even give out over two dollars.

Don’t waste your time!

I got this application and signed up with my Facebook account. After earning about $20 I couldn’t cash out until I confirmed a received email and unfortunately my email address associated with my Facebook was a school email address I no longer had access to. They do not have the option to update or change the email address on file, fine, that’s my bad. So they tell me the only way is to open a new account with the correct email address so they can transfer the rewards. I did that. Then they keep asking for more account information. I send them what they ask for. Then they say the card on file is different than the new one and I explain that card was compromised and the account was closed and I had to open a new bank account. They can’t transfer. Fine. I change so that both accounts have the same card on file. Then the continue to ask me for proof of my previous card and account which I no longer have access to because the account was compromised which I mention multiple times- account is closed and card has been cut up and thrown away, no records left on it. They still can’t transfer my reward money I earned to me, it’s been weeks going back and forth just for me to get the $20 I earned using their application! Huge hassle, never got reward money, horrible customer service! Don’t waste your time, not worth it.

Have to watch your own back for this one

I have been using the app for more than 4 years. Most of my cashback does not go through. They used to notify me of this by email, and so I would then send in proof that I made these transactions and they would reward me cashback by taking these extra steps. For the past 8 months, however, they stopped doing this and instead, emailed me saying that my cashback was delayed and that I would receive it within 7 days. I found out today that this is not the case, my cashback wasn't rewarded, and I contacted support again, but they keep replying to me with the same copy-and-paste answer that my transactions are past 21 days, and they "can't" investigate why those transactions are denied, although they have a history of denying cashback for 4 years now. I follow all the steps down to a T, double checking I'm using the right card in my wallet and pressing the "I've paid" button on their app after I'm finished pumping. I did my due diligence and contacted support in the past about my cashback not being automatically awarded also and followed the suggested steps to fix it. It wasn't fixed, and I just had to accept that I would have to take extra steps and contact support each time I pumped gas to get rewarded. Out of 17 claims that I made since the end of May, only 3 of them went through. These are not good odds. I see other user reviews here complain of the same, and my sister has the same problem. In the app, it will show as "Processing..." for those claims, but if I check back a few days later, they say, "Expired...". Between this and the email stating that I would eventually receive my cashback, I feel very misled.

Falsely advertising a Product that isn’t being Honored - FRAUD ALERT

I have been a long time GetUpside customer but just recently I have been getting really short changed on Cashback after the transaction- Just recently I had a Cashback offer of .46 cents off per gallon for 29 gallons but only received .14 cents off a gallon— Then the next day since I was traveling I had a offer for .16 cents off a gallon but only received .9 cents off a gallon so you can see a trend I plan my trips out to get the best Cashback offer also I travel a lot so I’m getting Cashback daily. So after around 4 transactions I was short changed quite a lot I started taking screenshots right before the purchase so the times match my receipts since this deceptive practices recently I have forwarded all my receipts and screenshots to my local state attorney general office which will be conducting an investigation on gas fraud and falsely advertising a product that isn’t being offered I encourage everyone to do this as well so maybe they will get a hint when they try to save 6-7 dollars here and there maybe some fines will stop them — On top of that I have forwarded all my pictures and receipts to the Federal trade commission since they are falsely advertising something that isn’t being honored please please if this happens to you or anyone you know do exactly this every time and this will stop! A loyal customer with over 10+ referrals

Obviously no user centered design by product management

It only takes 2 minutes using the app to realize how pathetic the design process is for produxt development. And that’s after you have to wait from 15 to 25 seconds for the stupid app to even load. Then you presented with everything under the sun for gas AND restaurants AND groceries. I only want gas, don’t show me all the other crap that clutters the screen and list. Simply remember my last choice and stick with that until I change or, crazy idea, let default to only what I want instead have loading everything and then me having to select gas to remove the clutter. Hint: might help with load time? You think? And the text is pathetic. It’s either so clutter we all the garbage or the map details hide/clutter the info you need to determine if you want to click on it for details. AND, for gods sake, remember where I am when I have to switch apps for some reason and come right back instead I have to go through the entire horrible load time and then remove all the pointless items and then go find that station/business AGAIN 3 minutes later. How about you simply figure the UI and UA from GasBuddy…. then maybe you’ll have an app that doesn’t act like it was built in 2010. It’s not that hard if you do basic 101 Product Design/Build and proper UAT.

Great when it’s working. Horrible when it’s not.

I’ve been using Upside on and off for a couple of years. When it’s working, it does exactly what it should do. Exactly what it advertises to do. However, whenever there’s issues, the app is completely useless for long periods. There is nowhere in the app to submit a bug report, so I guess I’m doing it here. I also can’t seem to get a hold of representatives in the app. But the useless chat bot is there! My current issue that I’ve been dealing with for several weeks now, is when I attempt to claim an offer, and therefore it pulls up the menu, asking which card I used for the transaction. I select the card, that menu disappears, and….nothing happens. No confirmation, no nothing. But I’ll get notifications for the next few hours, begging me to finish claiming my offer, which means it never went through. There’s nothing more I can do when this happens. I probably lost quite a bit of change simply because it will never finish claiming it. Like I said, finding customer support of any kind besides “FAQ” in the app seems to be a lost cause. Because address, issues in the app persist for weeks or longer before they’re fixed, if they are fixed. TLDR: when it’s working, great, it’s doing exactly what it’s supposed to. If you have a bug or issue, God help you.
