IMark · Image Annotation Tool Customer Service

Okay, that headline is a little over the top, but for years, I’ve been searching in vein for a serious, functional image-markup app. I stumbled upon this one by accident. Now I finally have something that does what I need. I primarily use it for annotating screenshots so I can communicate UX/UI issues to iOS software developers. Not only is it easy to add arrows, callouts, etc., but I’m provided with the ability to manage these elements as *layers*, so I can move them in front or behind of each other as I mark things up. I’ve never seen an iOS that does this, but it is important when doing things on a relatively tiny screen. I also love the “frames” that let me surround my screenshots with an image of an iPhone or other mobile device. To someone viewing my output, this immediately communicates that my content came from such a device. The app has other uses too, such as for creating quick collages, e.g., a of a group of photographs arranged in a grid. I do have a few quibbles, but most are probably because the app was developed in China mostly for users in that market. I, on the other hand, am a sheltered American Anglophone. :-)

Two things I love about this app: 1. It’s fast and full of features, so I can quickly open a photo, add some arrows and labels, and export at a different size or format in minutes. 2. There’s no stupid subscription to deal with. I discovered that if you tap the little Totoro-looking character at the bottom of the interface (with the three dots over its head), you can access a special screen where you can show support by paying a “donation”. I’m not a shill and don’t know the developers, I just genuinely love this app. And I only bring it up because it’s not in the regular settings section, so it’s easy to miss. I personally prefer this sort of approach over forced subscriptions because those who can afford a token payment can participate, while everyone who can’t afford it can still take advantage of an excellent app. Hopefully everyone wins. Anyway, great app! 🙏

I wish I’d known about this app long ago! I used Skitch for years, but Skitch had limited features. This app does so many more cool things! All different kinds of arrows, text, shapes, magnifiers, with all kinds of customizable options. You can even save your image in a realistic-looking mock-up of a phone or tablet screen if you want. And it’s free! Please donate to the developer if you can, they deserve it.

When using the magnifier tool, you have a choice of color for the circle border, but unlike Apple's implementation of this tool it's not possible to finish up by give the magnifier no border by changing its opacity all the way down. Hopefully the developer will fix this, so I'll still give the app five stars.

This app is all in One app. i use this app for my job like marine engineering industry. it is very useful for preparing Damage report or repair list. take a picture and annotate damage point to make a repair list. other party easily find out location of damge. It is awesome thanks

Easy to use the basics of the program. I need to figure out if the text size can be changed.

I needed an image annotation app for work and this is exactly what I was looking for. The tools are perfect and flexible. I especially love the text you can add to the ends of arrows.

I wasn’t able to find the mosaic feature on the native iPhone photo editing features. However this app allows me to do Mosaic easily on certain areas on the pictures. Additionally, this app has more photo editing and annotation features. Although this app isn’t getting updates very often, it has the very essential features that should be made available on the native iPhone gallery.

How to change language for english or french?

IMark is a full featured, powerful, easy-to-use Annotation App, which has many rich annotation features. Uncommon to most Annotation apps, IMark also allows the user to export their annotated image in either jpg or png format. Furthermore, IMark also allows the user to easily re-size the annotated image while maintaining the aspect ratio, all at a remarkable (FREE) price. Keep up the great development work. Will recommend your app.

I wish they had tutorials or videos. There is a lot I don't understand. There are many things to like but also some things are difficult. I could not form the life of me find the delete and undo buttons. My grandson showed them to me!! They are white and the same color of the app background, with off white lines so very visible. There needs to be a high contrast option or something for users who rely on accessibilty. The circles I made have very thick lines. I would like them thinner. I am sure there is way to do that. Still trying to find the help menu. I found the heart and that let me rate it.

Hopefully I can updated this review in the future. The app has a strong start, but it’s missing some oddly important features. #1 No classic highlighting. You can only highlight by dimming the rest of the image, which this is normally called spotlighting. #2 Text bubbles text doesn’t scale very big so text is very small on large images. #3 No control over text bubble tail length and location.

The app it’s pretty straight forward, easy to use. But you guys need to take this to the next level like the Cleanshot X App for Mac that also has a counter feature, so every time you tap you get 1, 2, 3, 4, etc…..and you can actually edit the counting if you have several screenshots, letting add another photo or screenshot should be also posible. Really appreciate the time and effort you’ve done in this App but it’s time for a huge upgrade.

When using the text window on a picture the keyboard automatically engages thus obscuring that portion of the picture one needs to be able to see the text in order to type. Especially at or below 1/3 of the iPhone screen in either portrait or landscape mode.

This app is very versatile. It can do nearly everything I’ve seen in similar apps (like Annotable) and more. However, there are three key features it doesn’t have currently: ❌ All saves photos get branded with iMark. There’s no ability to pay anything for a premium version to remove this branded logo. If you want to remove it, you can do so in Photoshop. But if you’re in Photoshop, why didn’t you just mark up your photo there? ❌ No ability to adjust the opacity of your colors. ❌ No “Fill color” option for the shapes. They’re just outlines.

Most confusing UI ever. It’s like the devs never use the product so they don’t see the issues. The magnify tool might be the worst I have ever used. iOS 17 removed the photo preview magnify markup function so this app could be popular if they improved the magnifying function or replicated what iOS used to have.

The watermark used to be small but after recent update it becomes HUGE, what makes it even worse is that the watermark is not removable, no matter you pay for it or not. Switching to other apps after years of use. Disappointed.

Is there a way to get rid of the watermark? This app would be almost perfect if you could do that!

Needed something to mark-highlight words on a photo. No ability to adjust the opacity of a color line. Help in the app is pretty much non existent.

Extremely narrow functionality of actions, poor color and font choice and overall tasteless interface. Do not recommend.
