Only one thing...I have two copies of the Life Application study Bible (larger hardback & smaller softcover), because I love it so much. It really is an invaluable resource for understanding, learning, applying what you learn, and growing in your relationship with God. I would highly recommend it to everyone! I’ve even bought them for my new Christian friends, to help them learn to love reading the Bible as much as I do. I just got the app because I wanted to have it with me on my phone for times when I don’t have one of my physical Bibles with me. I really like it so far, and I’m sure I will learn more neat things and cool features on it that I haven’t discovered yet. There’s only one thing I would suggest, that I was a little bummed about: you can’t highlight on the notes. You can highlight the Bible text, but not the notes. There is so much good information in those notes, and I have highlights and markings all throughout the notes in my physical Bibles - and I really wish it was possible to highlight them on the app as well. HighlightsThis is my first time using this app. What I love about this app is that it’s just like the hard copy of the book I own. Now it wasn’t easy to navigate at first, now I’m getting better at it. For me and my wife, this book is one of the most useful guide in understanding God and His character. Now the app is just as easier to carry around if we decide to go mobile. My wife loves to take notes cause she’s old school she loves her highlighters I just purchased, me on the other hand I copy paste. I don’t have the patience to write notes. However, in the notes sections of the app, if there’s a way I could highlight a word or two, it would help me navigate to bring out a point in my thoughts. The best straight-forward study bible appThis app is like having the Life Application NLT Study Bible in your pocket. I much prefer this than the other apps which make you get the base app then purchase add ons or subscribe to a plan for access and still show ads. I love the New Living Translation too, it’s perfect for new or advanced readers and has become my primary daily text. It just reads so smooth and is easy to understand, cross reference all the nerd stuff later, you’ll find its trustworthy. The study bible briefly explains what you just read and how it applies to life. It has many features that are extremely useful as well. App update —I have always loved this app; I have been a faithful user of this app since 2015-ish & swear by it over & over. I was scared when after years I see an update to an already amazing app getting a full makeover. However, when I say these developers put their time into thisss that’s exactly what they did. They took their time & it makes me even more appreciative for what they did. I was disappointed when I saw that the app went into a subscription model — the one time $20 rate was always a selling point for me encouraging friends to purchase; now I’m not sure what happens if you don’t subscribe— if I am grandfathered at all. Would like to make sleep mode optionalMy wife and I really enjoy this app, but if we could change something, it would be to disable the sleep mode while the app is open. We usually use the app in our Sunday school class, so it sometimes just sits there for a few minutes without any user interaction. This causes the iPad to go into sleep mode, making it a little inconvenient when we need to refer back to it, having to wake up the iPad and get past the Home Screen and back to the scripture page we had open. If the sleep mode could be made optional, or at least a selectable length of time before kicking in, that would make it easier to deal with. Help!My Life Application Bible App NLT will only show The Voice version of the Bible. I was reading the devotional that comes with my LABNLT, and the devotional was from Devos for Teens - it only showed half the reading. So I clicked the Devos for Teen icon and it directed me to Tecarta. It took me to Tecarta in the App Store (I already have Tecarta Bible as well). In the App Store I was prompted to update Tecarta, so I did. And now my Life Application Bible app will not show NLT text, only the Voice version of text - though it still shows LABNLT study notes and it shows LABNLT at the bottom of the screen. The sustaining word of GodI love all his words more than my daily bread, they bring me hope and joy and praise his holy name! Given that, I used to get from Life Application Bible the scriptures, beautiful pictures, and stories on which I looked forward to everyday and counted on. Then, the Psalm 139:17 popped up in my feed this morning accompanied by not only a beautiful picture, but also explanations from other bibles and I was overjoyed. Still learning how to use the appI’m liking this new app purchase. I wish I would have known the version I selected first would be my primary version of reading. I like the fact that I can stream, purchase, and try other versions thus this is the remedy-unless someone tells me about something else. Using the concordance is my favorite feature, as I was just learning how to use one manually. The hard part is because I didn’t fully teach myself manual I can’t tell when I’m looking at the Greek, Hebrew or Aramaic? A must have!This was the first bible that I saved up for as a teen active in church. I’ve had that bible now 22 years and it means something to me for a multitude of different reasons. This app is the bible I flipped through and studied from as a kid. Life Application BibleI tried getting this exact same Bible from my iBooks. It was a nightmare! I couldn’t get it to open, then it froze on the screen. I was never able to use it. I wondered why people were raving about their Bible app. It was unusable. Then it dawned on me…go to the App Store, buy it from there. Pure joy!!! I have never used anything so simple! This is amazing!I love this app because not only can I carry it everywhere with me but I can find passage really fast and highlight passages too. Along with having daily devotional and verses makes this app the best in my opinion. Thanks so much for this app HOWEVER I only wish I had more colors for highlighting. What a Blessing!This app is everything I always wanted for my Bible Study. I especially love being able to have the King James Version side by side with the Life Application Bible. A step in the wrong directionI’ve used this app daily for years. This was a really great app until the last update. It’s so much harder to find things (personal notes, study Bible notes, maps) and it’s more cumbersome to toggle between study notes and the Bible when reading. I really don’t like the split view on a phone because there’s not enough real estate to read. The icon for study notes on every verse is unnecessary except there’s no easy way to switch to study notes without it. What I dislike is how we are charged for every little thing especially if you want to research and understand more. Life application study BibleI have used the print version of the LASB for 33 years. I have the original Parsons Technology computer version. It is very user friendly. Up until now none of the apps come close. Since updating….I used to be able to research articles that came with the study bibles and look for Bible verse at the same time with the same search word. Now it’s more complicated and harder to have access to these articles unless you know what chapter they are on. App needs updates with iPad OSI have used this Bible app on my iPad for about 8 months and it’s been great. I like everything about it. Up until yesterday. After I did an IOS update. I opened the app this morning and it’s just a black page. I did a hard shutdown and the app still comes up as a black page. My favourite bible butThis is my favourite bible. I have had a LAPB since i was a young adult and each member of my family has one of their own. What makes this a 2 star is the audio features or lack there of. I usually would use the audio feature often but the ridiculousness of the dramatic nature of it removes from the meaning of the word. Very disappointing. The bible app has a simple reader that is pretty awesome. No need for the dramatic. And there is no audio option for the study portion.
