Wavve Boating: GPS, Map, Chart Customer Service

This app is amazing and goes beyond my expectations! I love the step by step of how to use the app and each of its functions for beginners such as myself! This app has every single available dock logged around me whether it’s for all the local popular well known spots or if it’s the small hidden docks that are not often used, this app has them all marked! I love the weather/wind prediction aspect so you’re always aware of the current and potential future conditions. Also love that you can enter your boat size into the app and it tells you in the what parts of the water are safe and deep enough to travel in and what parts are not deep enough for your boat, and that it changes based on the tides of that time! Overall I highly recommend and If you are a frequent boater this app is well worth the yearly subscription!

I have been using this app for well over 3 years now and it is absolutely incredible. The functionality and interface are rock solid and SIMPLE. You’re not going to be scrolling through various pages, trying to find the information you need. As a professional captain, I have used a lot of charting apps and software. Wavve is, hands down, the easiest and most intuitive nautical navigation app you can find. 5 out of 5 Stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

So the subscription is under my husband‘s Apple account but I can’t put it on my phone when I vote without him. We utilize family sharing and most apps allow this. Please enable

This could very possibly be the most functional app I’ve ever used. I’m speaking as a pleasure boater, not a fisherman or anything like that. But this app is packed for if everything I need to enjoy a day out in the boat. And the design is very intuitive. Kudos to this development team!! Make sure to watch the tutorial videos. They really helped me to make sure I knew everything that the app offers.

I really love this app! It is very good for planning a route for areas I have never visited. I own a SeaDoo GTX 300 Limited and use this app through BRP Connect. It is very nice to have this app integrated in my display. There are a few items I wish the app had. Hopefully they will be available soon for the iPhone app. 1. I would like the ability to create and share my planned routes with my Wavve Boating friends. 2. I would like the ability to dynamically share my points (I.e. water hazards) with my Wavve Boating friends. 3. I would like the ability to see my Wavve Boating friends on my map while running. 4. I would like the ability to create my planned routes and share to my app and Wavve Boating friends from the Wavve Boating website. This is a great app and I am certain it will become even better!

I am fairly new to boating and marine navigation charts. I was so grateful for this app last Saturday when I was in unfamiliar waters and unsure of which channels to follow. I am in SW Florida and was thrilled with the simplicity and accuracy of the information provided. Like the navigation in my vehicle, this app tracked my progress so I couldn’t get confused on where I was and what markers I should follow or expect next. Great value and so easy to use for a beginner!

We’ve used the app for nearly two months. We found it to be very accurate, easy to use and feature rich. We use this to record trips, as well as to plan new trips. It is primarily a backup to our Raymarine navigation system, but we could easily use this as our primary system if we had to.

The user interface on this app is so fast and easy to use. I’ve found it to be very accurate as well as convenient, so I definitely would recommend it. I wish the subscription was a little cheaper, but if you’re in need of the services then it’s probably worth it. And there’s a free trial as well if you want to give it a try first!

This app was a great find. I lived on Lake Michigan for many years. I’ve done plenty of boating and fishing along the lake. This app brings a lot of different tools and knowledge about the shoreline, features, weather, etc and puts it all in one place. I am learning a lot about an area I thought I already knew well. I really like that I can find other inland features such as boat launches as well.

This is such a great app for new and experienced boaters. I wish it would have been available 20 years ago when we used to boat a lot at lake of the ozarks with a big group of friends! Easy to use and love that you can share with friends. Wish there was a free version but understand. Still worth the money if you boat a lot.

This app has everything a beginner could need. You can put your boat size in to make it even easier. This app has a TON of different features to utilize from remembering your different locations to creating a route. It will be helpful for new or experienced boaters.

This is a great product especially for those new to boating or navigating unfamiliar areas! I would highly recommend this especially when traveling at night. Also the app is easy to understand and use!

Purchased the app and service to help in new waters I hadn’t navigated. I had a few, self induced struggles, to start. A message sent to their help desk was answered by one of the app developers who offered a phone session to help. I have never encountered such comprehensive service from an app developer!!!! This app is great and then they updated it and the canals that I live in disappeared off the map. They were able to get it updated but it took several weeks. They were pretty easy to work with about it but it’s very disappointing the issues with the map for several weeks.

It took a few emails, but the Canadian developer refunded my payment when a glitch caused the subscription to not cancel. It’s nice to see a N. American based developer - I’d definitely recommend trying them for boating navigation.

Love this app! My husband fishes and we use our boat with the kids in the summer. It’s super easy to read and navigate, and has a ton of helpful actions. Locating ports, starring locations, recording trips via GPS, and weather details hour to hour including effect on waves.

This app is much better designed in my opinion to the competitors. If you want to get more users and referrals, I suggest adding a limited use for free users. Overall though, this has potential to be the go-to boating navigation app.

The only feedback I have is that I would like the ability to search for fish havens instead of looking manually through the map and then having to mark them.

This app has tons of different features. And the subscription price is amazing for everything it offers. It can help you find spots to fish, where to anchor, the weather for the day, even the height of the waves in the water. It’s pretty cool.

It is very easy to use even for beginners. It walks you through the steps easily. So far it seems to be pretty accurate. Looking forward to using it more as it gets warmer.

Love the Wavve app. Very easy to use and simply designed for everyone. Quick access to all important info. Also, they offer interesting stories, tips, and contests.

Great app, but given the availability of stereos and screens that run carplay, it would be very useful to have a larger screen view - especially if you are marketing it as "Google Maps for boaters" - fifth star if you add the feature. Otherwise it is a useful app.

This app makes our group feel a lot more comfortable when in the water. We don’t go out that often so this app basically guarantees that we won’t get yelled at lol

I love using this app when on the water… what’s even better is their quick response to questions? I emailed Kayla at Wavve Boating at 7:30 a.m and by 8:30 a.m she returned my email with the answer needed for Boating that day. 👍👍

This product would be perfect for people that like two bow in fish and know exactly what’s going on in the water it’s it’s just not for me. The layout of the app was very lovely though.

It the perfect app ever for adventure in the ocean. The app shows a lot of features such as information to find marinas, boat ramps, restaurants and more. It’s did it’s job more than a map.

Think of it like maps for the water. You can look restaurants, marinas, fun places near by to stop with easy directions beyond just coordinates.

I like the idea of being able to navigate the boat with this app working as somekind of radar. It’s also a great app to meet other people who are into boating, can create and record the route, and works for thousands of destinations

I use the wave app on my waverunners and also when I take a boat out with my boat club. If you’re just cruising or if you plan a route, it’s simple to use and very helpful.

This app was a ton of help last weekend when on the water - autorouting, weather, wicked interface - its all there. I would like to see a diver POI if possible.

It’s been about a year since I’ve really been back on the water but now that I am I’ve been using Wavve non stop. This app has come so far - the new water level and weather features are awesome and I love the new look. I also appreciate the amazing customer support their team provides. They are always so helpful and friendly even if I have a dumb question!

As time goes this app keeps getting better and better! I had an issue with my recorder while going up the Rideau Canal, (a Canadian gem) I emailed them while we were waiting to enter a lock and by the time I completed the lock, I had a response! Top Notch!

We used this app to get us across Lake Ontario and it was absolutely fantastic. It could use some extra updates out in Georgian Bay, where we’re going to primarily keep our boat. But other than that we definitely recommend.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I feel compelled to do so for this terrific app. I’ve been using the IPad version on the Great Lakes for about a week. After my first trip with it I came home, watched the tutorial, made some adjustments and now it’s working perfectly for me. I reached out with questions and the response was within a day. It does everything it describes and its simplicity is refreshening. Meanwhile…. A close friend is struggling with the Garmin version which cost him $235 for the year and he’s spent several days trying to get his Nav card to work. I spent maybe an hour helping him try to discontinue the auto renewal on Garmin’s website, deviously hidden, I reached out to their support and their reply was a dead end. I have a three month boating season and I can subscribe to Wavve monthly. Garmin only allows a yearly subscription. There’s really no comparison in intention to fill The needs of each platform’s customers. Wavve is vastly superior.

I switched from using navionics and WOW! It’s so much easier to use and the designs are much more modern than any other boating app I’ve tried. Absolutely love this app for days when I’m on the water!

I’ve been pretty frustrated with the other apps out there, so confusing. This rocks, saved the family and I last weekend.

Love the UI, super intuitive and easy to use on the water and love seeing my buddies when I’m out shredding the auga!

All I wanted was to see how the Wave app worked. I must have hit the wrong button and mistakenly ordered an annual subscription for $69.99 plus tax. When I contact Wavve and explained the situation they offered me a full refund without question. The app is great, but I only have a small 14 ft boat for crab and prawn fishing and generally I am not more than 2 kilometres away from the dock .

It would be nice to have a look at the screenshots and try locally before paying before paying. Goodbye.

It would be nice to have the names of the inlets, bays… etc that you would see on a chart… not sure why they’re not on here

I am fairly sure the blame for this falls on BRP but I can’t really be sure. 90% of the functionality of this app is unavailable when using the screen on my Seadoo, but it seems pretty good when using my phone itself. Definitely needs some more Canadian charts added, ie the Muskoka’s and Trent Severn. I’m a bit choked to see I’m going to be without on screen navigation next week, my first time there. Giving 4 stars for what appears to be a good framework but lacking the map data, combined with developers that respond to messages which is a huge plus for me.

Great app easy to use and very helpful in new waterways

As a new boater this app has relieved a lot of stress. I have a better guide of where I can go, can mark points of interest and explore new ones that others recommend. Can’t say enough about how awesome this app is!

I am new to boating and i love the app. This year i am living on the ottawa canal and there is no data for this area but i understand that is not the apps fault. Dave

Navionics was killing me. Scrolling around, looking at traditional charts with no idea where I was heading unless I stopped the boat and took my eyes off the water to get my bearings. Wavve is like using Waze. It follows you along, tells you where not to go, and points out cool things to show your friends at a glance. It’s safe, intuitive and cool. Highly recommend!

Wavve Boating is such a smart and intuitive app! It has all the necessary features of a marine GPS and more. Very user friendly and with a great design!

I subscribed to this in Hope that it would assist me in ICW routing through the canals. That does not seem to be the case so attempted the same thing with navionics and that works well. Contacted them and was told that they have challenges with what I want to do and just put in several waypoints to try to use it. That is not autorouting and to be honest I don’t find anything about this app to be better to where it is useful for boaters. It works for getting depths but not accurate really considering I tested its readings with my depth gauge and off. Can not find the value of this app for the money I pay so will be cancelling my subscription and don’t recommend this app for anyone seriously wanting to travel with their boat.

I subscribed to this app to use it as my primary nav for sailing in the North Channel of Lake Huron. Logged in, downloaded maps, tested offline access using airplane mode…everything looked great. But I laboriously screen captured and printed paper charts for the Canadian waters as a backup. So glad I did. We got out on the water in Ontario with zero mobile signal. Opened the app to help us navigate the incredibly shoal-infested waters. And nothing. Just a login screen. The app had logged me out. And without mobile signal I could not log in. Completely bricked. The trip was saved by the paper charts. All I can say is do not depend on this app. It constantly logs you out. I opened it again today at home on WiFi…logged out again. Terrible, dangerous design pattern for an app of this type.

New boat owner, driving a boat with a non-functioning depth finder. I thought this would be a sort of watery version of Waze, and at a glance, it seems to be. The interface is clean and easy to understand, and it looks like a solid app. BUT --- I live in Michigan, land of 11,000 inland lakes, and would like to use it to navigate some of my favorite lakes when I visit them. Whenever I look up a lake I would like to boat on, I am greeted with the following: "Limited or no nautical chart data available in this area" I get this for every lake I try. Spent 10 minutes scrolling around the map trying to find even one inland lake with data here in Michigan. Found one, just off of lake Michigan, but that was it. There is ample data for major waterways (rivers and the Great Lakes), but sadly, you are simply left adrift when it comes to data from anything but the biggest, most widely traveled bodies of water. I am glad that there is a free two-week trial.

I can’t really tell if this app has promise because after signing up you’re forced into the subscribe now. They do offer a free trial, but still. Saw nothing and not interested signing up or starting a free anything if I cannot see the basics. Ty for responding and offering me a trial. I understand Apple has limitations. But perhaps let your would-be users USE the app and see it before asking to sign up and start subscription?

I like the idea of the app but I don’t like the fact that I can’t even play around with it for five minutes before having to decide on a subscription. I’d like some time to get used to the app and see if it’s something that would work well for me before being asked to pay.

We just bought a boat and got this app to help us with routes easier until we figure out the gps of the boat. It doesn’t read routes and the location that you are in. It says not enough data to figure out route. Maybe I was doing something wrong but definitely not a first time user friendly app.

The price annually is reasonable but most people can’t use a boating app all year round. It means I’m buying an app and paying a high price monthly or I’m wasting money paying annually for an app that I can’t use when the weather is bad. Lower the price and I’d consider buying it. It’s a good app otherwise.

How about mentioning something about the price right from the beginning? Go through all the signing up, then see the free trial, followed by $60 a year. I did go back and saw the price at the very end of the description. Nope, I’ll just stick with the Navionics app I’ve been using for years, and it’s $10 less.

This app keeps trying to charge my card even though i dont have any subscription active for this app. Last year they charged it without me approving and i contacted them and never had any answer and i emailed them and also no answer. And now im getting a message for fraud alert that there trying to run my card agine

I purchased this app because it said Editors Choice on the App Store. I now assume Apple’s criteria is primarily design and UI, not subject relevant functionality. The app is cute but really seems geared to newbies only. Doesn’t provide basic navigation information like real-time course/speed over ground, cross track error, distance to next, eta data to next or final waypoint, etc.

If only they had the lakes that I boat on, it appears it would be a fantastic app and worth the money. I live in “Lake Country” and it’s named that for a reason. However none of our lakes, even our largest lakes aren’t available on the map!

Like the look of the app and has all the necessary places pointed out as well. Would like to edit a saved route without having to delete the all the points up to there. Sandbars move around here.

Was excited to use this app and willing to pay the yearly subscription until I discovered the lakes in my area lacked coverage. Maybe sometime in the future, but until then, I have deleted the app.

I canceled this subscription well within the cancellation period (about 10 minutes after I subscribed) as it did not support the lake that I boat on. After two weeks they still charged my account for a full year subscription. Do not recommend doing business with this company.

They ask you register first then they ask for money. No free plan. You don’t even get to see anything.

You are missing way too many features to charge this much. The app struggles to auto route sometimes not even completing a route.

Does not navigate, instead draws a line through land and solid object. Absolute trash, staged reviews, avoid.

It just says “email must be unique” like my email is what it’s is

1/ You have to sign up to see if there is lake data for your area. 2/ Much of north central Ontario shows no map data available. It’s not worth the purchase if even your big lakes aren’t in the database.

They say it’s like Google Maps for boats. Except for the minor fact they charge $60 a year. And whose brilliant idea is it to take all my personal info and setup an account before telling me it’s a ridiculously expensive app. Garbage tactics. Delete.

Why make it free to download if we can’t use it without paying!

I live on Lake of the Woods that is located in Ontario, Manitoba and Minnesota and the app doesn’t have any charts for this massive lake.

I live a short haul down a major river in New Brunswick. App doesn’t show markers accurately and auto-Route won’t give me a route to anywhere. Depth not available and, needless to say, tides don’t work. Better off with nothing.

I just loaded this app for the first time and tried to start it on my iPhone using my Apple login. It will not allow me to proceed as it says my profile already exists. I tried various user names but each time, there is the same error.

I guess I made the mistake of trying to sign in with Facebook. Wouldn’t load. Half a star for getting me excited for like 5 minutes.

To join it requires email etc. I supplied my email and it states it requires a unique email and will not join. This app has issues for joining. Until then it’s not useful.

Would not save my recorded trips .
