Transit • Subway & Bus Times Positive Reviews

My GO-to transit app in Miami-Dade.I been a fan since the days of its origins when the app was a necessity to track live down the busses. And although it was lucky matter to see a bus on live tracking since very few will be using it on the Go feature, the interface was more user friendly and the app didn’t freeze as much as the official one from the county. I never reviewed an app before and much less type this much but credit is well due on this one. Thank you to the entire team behind this app because the work you guys have put into it shows very well and make it worth a payable subscription. The new ticketing feature makes the cherry at top. I struggled with digital passes thru the official county app and all because I forgot to unlock my card one time for the charge and now it seems like my card is banned from direct onboard usage or even on the app to buy passes or credits. So transit now saves my life by not only allowing one way passes purchase that can be used later on another time but also digitalizing passes and takes any card on my apple wallet. Paying the subscription really makes it better app than the official one by interface and ease to get the info needed and to the destination! Congratulations guys for your great work, it is highly appreciated and valued..Version: 5.15.12

The only transit app I useI live on Long Island and have been taking buses most of my life even though I own a car. I prefer public transportation and this app is usually 100% accurate about bus times and trains as well. When I go to New York City, the app is invaluable. Most subways stations now have a timer to let riders know when the next subway is arriving but for taking the bus it’s accurate as usual. And when I travel to Philly, DC or Atlantic City, the app knows where I am and can also tell me when the next bus or subway is coming. My one complaint is that if a bus isn’t coming, the app lets you think the bus left it’s departure point and is arriving at it’s scheduled time and it doesn’t. For example, twice last week I waited for a bus to arrive and the app told me it was on its way and no bus showed up. The next bus, a half hour later arrived as scheduled. It’s not the app’s fault the bus didn’t show up despite there not being construction or detours (the app is good, not great, at alerting you if there are going to be delays due to weather, traffic or construction), so I had to make the issue known to the bus company and they resolved it. So I wish the app could tell me if a bus is coming or not even though it’s supposed to. I assume there’s some type of tracking on the bus but once the scheduled time came and went when I was expecting the bus there was no bus for two days, increasing my already long bus commute home. Still, it’s a solid app and customer service addresses my needs lighting quick. I have no other complaints. Friends from out of town who never use public transportation have come to rely on this app when they visit NYC. I swear by this app!.Version: 5.10.1

Bus arrival times are not always accurate - Update : and neither are the bus stopsI’m able to get enough use out of the app to not have to pay for the subscription at this time. But what really gets on my nerves is the accuracy of arrival times for the bus. Sometimes it gives me an estimated time that should allow me to get to my stop on time only for the bus to speed right by me several minutes sooner than the stated time. Other times it indicates that the bus is on the route only to find out that it’s not because it never arrived. I also noticed that sometimes the bus’s signal will disappear one minute and then reappear the next minute. I would give this app a five star rating if not for the problems with arrival time inaccuracy. This may be a problem having to do with the transit authority here but it still is very irritating, especially during bad weather like heavy rain or high temperatures. Keep up the good work developers and hopefully the transit system will be more accurate for their customers. Update: The arrival time accuracy problems continue. 1 star rating until this app and my local transit authority stops lying about the status of buses on the road. Update 2 : I ended up missing a bus because the app pointed me to the wrong stop. The bus I was going to take no longer uses the stop the app recommended. Although this may be the transit organization’s fault for not properly listing the routes on the sign. At least the app is improving on arrival times and warning about buses not in service. Fix the accuracy with stops and this will be a top ten app..Version: 5.17.22

Pay Close AttentionThis app is essential for my travel to and from college. I've noticed however that the time it tells you to leave is way too late every time, and I end up missing the bus by a minute or two. Even leaving earlier than the recommended departure, I will miss the bus. Not only that, but it has no way of alerting you when you've taken the wrong bus. It says "Unplanned Detour" which is really inconvenient for someone new to public transport who doesn't know the stops for other buses. You'll believe you're on the right bus and there IS a detour, maybe because the stops are correct up until a certain point when really the app just can't track you because you're obviously not on the route of the bus you were supposed to take. Please find a way to fix this. I don't know if you could make some sort of route recognition that would know if you've taken an actual detour or if you're simply on the wrong bus. On top of that, it gave me an estimated arrival at my destination, changed to a half hour later. All when the bus was the WRONG bus. Why on earth would there be an estimated arrival for that, if the bus is never getting there in the first place?.Version: 5.0.4

Helpful but also frustratingI really enjoy this app and being able to see where buses and trains are thanks to other users. I feel like the effectiveness has gone down a bit lately with some app updates though. I live near a station and the app regularly thinks I’m already there despite being ~5 min away. Most recently, I will have a train/bus selected and the app will chose the following one when I’m not looking. If I didn’t pay closer attention, this could lead to me being late because at a glance from the lock screen it tells me to leave later. I will go back and select the right train and it’ll switch on me again and again, even with the app open. It has problems sometimes recognizing when I’m on a bus/train and I wish there was a way to manually enter that I am. It also regularly stops working if I switch apps in the background and pauses my music/audiobooks. Sometimes it doesn’t show me routes I know I can take as an option, and not farther away ones that are locked in the subscription. All in all I still enjoy using it but it’s a bit of a frustrating experience with the more recent problems and the constant problem of it losing track of my trip while I’m on it. That may be my own fault for living on low power mode, but it happens more frequently than other apps..Version: 6.0.13

DETOUR INFORMATIONOverall the app is great but theres no specific place to get information on detours. It notifies me when its happening but if i need to go back and check? sometimes its not there… maybe add a detour section to see all your routes detours if there is any. Also there was no information regarding the event in my city that would let me know in advance that the ONLY bus to my job would just not going to show up during these days… It wasn’t even appearing on the app and googles schedule page would come up blank. I had to download the Moovit app where they, right at the beginning, gave me a VERY obvious information icon on my bus route that told me everything. I wouldn’t consistently use the Moovit app but having to rely on a whole different app for actual information is silly. My bus wasn’t running and instead of making it obvious to riders and presenting it on the app as an important notification its just hid the bus all together. This resulted in me spending $60 on uber when i could have just gotten a ride with a friend/coworker. But I didn’t see that the bus was just GONE. Not even appearing on the app anymore. Detour information should be a very loud icon or one of the first things you see when you open the app and that information should be accessible ANYTIME you want to go back and check it. DONT HIDE THE BUS I WANNA TAKE GIVE INFORMATION THAT ITS NOT ACTIVE INSTEAD. PLEASE FIX THIS.Version: 5.14.4

Could be betterSometimes the bus is 15 minutes late, other times it leaves 2 minutes early. And occasionally a bus just doesn’t come at all for an hour. This inconsistency makes the estimated time useless. One option for improvement is to train more disciplined drivers; for example, if a bus arrives early, it should wait at the stop until it is on time. Another option is to provide better arrival estimates. When I lived in San Diego, the public transport system communicated with Google Maps to provide accurate live estimate times. It would be great if Utah Transit could have a similar partnership, or create its own live tracking system. I guess I do see a live bus via the Transit app sometimes, but most of the time, the bus driver waits until the last moment to flash it on, again defeating the purpose of a live tracker. It would also be nice if Transit could utilize live traffic information to calculate an estimated arrival time of a bus. Another potential area of improvement is detours. It is not intuitive whether the solid path or the dotted path is the actual path the bus takes. Currently, I believe the dotted path is the actual path. I would recommend just having one solid path denoting the current actual path taken by the bus. If riders are curious whether this is a temporary detour, just have a button that allows them to see the baseline bus route. Having the actual path outlined as a solid line also helps with estimating the arrival time (sometimes a bus will need to take a longer roundabout path to get to the next stop, perhaps because the more direct path has more traffic that makes a left turn difficult to execute)..Version: 5.12.6

Houston areaI mainly take the metro to get to and from the University of Houston. Downloaded this app around a year ago or two, its pretty great at showing me the nearest line to where I’m trying to leave from. It’s also pretty great letting you know if you’ll have to take a second bus and showing the walking distance to actually get to your destination. It even shows you the estimated time it would take if you took an Uber or Lyft. As a student I wanna make sure to arrive to my classes on time, so it’s great being able to see my options. Honestly much better than just looking at google maps imo. I’m not giving it a full 5 starts just because sometimes the bus will arrive either earlier or later then the time it gives you but that’s understandable it’s not always going to be 100% accurate. I get that same issue even when I use the cities official metro text service, where it sends the time schedule for the bus, like I said not going to ever be 100% because there’s a lot of other factors one needs to take into account like traffic etc. overall I would recommend this app to anyone not familiar with their local metro service like if your knew to the city or just taking the metro for the first time, it comes in handy if you want to make sure you’re getting on the right bus..Version: 5.2.5

Great AppThis app has helped me so much this summer to navigate the city. I think it’s clever that it uses other riders to help locate the buses in real time. The issues I have riding the buses are mainly with the Nashville bus system than with this app. One thing I wish were better is if the app gave extra warning or let you know the bus stop is on the opposite side of the road. I’ve found myself with not enough time to cross the street, watching the bus I wanted zoom by. I also have issues planning a route on occasion. I have to refresh multiple times to see all possible routes because the app only shows 3 at a time. It’s also not always possible to see when the next buses are coming once you’re at the navigation page, in case I like the route, but want to take the next pass. It is also not possible to edit a route once you start, which would be great if I wanted to get off at a different stop. Lastly, it takes way too long for the app to figure out the bus I’m waiting for is never going to show up. It just keeps updating the arrival time for the bus, making me believe the bus will be there, while I should be looking for a different way home. Other than that, it’s a great app, works better than google maps, and has saved me multiple times!.Version: 5.4.2

Unintuitive RedesignI like the crowd-sourcing feature and being able to watch the bus approaching in real time, but the redesign makes for a super frustrating app. It takes too many taps and swipes to navigate that aren’t all obvious. For instance, checking the complete schedule of a Line while currently in a GO session. It’s not very obvious that you have to swipe down the GO session to get to the schedule list of nearby lines. And I liked how previously, on the same line, you could see the ETA of the next bus as well as what time that would be. Now you HAVE TO look at the full schedule to then get only the bus arrival times and not ETA. It’s a broken experience and quite annoying at that. My other issue with the new full schedule list is that the earlier bus times were removed. I actually found it useful to see which arrivals have already passed. At least seeing one or two past arrivals would be helpful. Please incorporate these features back into the app so I could give the star rating this app really deserves. I use it every day and hate to have less than an awesome experience..Version: 5.0.3

About y’all’s busesSometimes the last bus will come early an sometimes the last bus will go another route so they don’t have to pick up anyone so they can hurry and get their route over with I’ve seen it happen a couple of times or they will put bus not in service and that’s so so not right at all there is a lot of people that get off of work 1am to 2am an after a long day of work gotta sleep outside at the bus stop because some driver’s doesn’t wanna do their job right..... y’all say metro is friendly and that is such a lie y’all have drivers that has attitude problems an if they don’t like you for whatever reason they really will pass you up they don’t know if that person is going to work to a dr appointment an they make people late because they bring their personal issues to work with them or hold the pass against people we are all adults why can’t they act like they are an adult instead of a child my 13 year old act way better than some of your drivers an has better respect and manners than some of your drivers....!!!!!!.Version: 5.10.1

Amazing app, I literally use it everydayThis app has been through my ups and downs; from moments to when I needed to view if it was worth running to catch the bus when i’m running late to moments where i have enough time sit down and plan a trip and see what transfer bus im going to take. Transit is the best thing ever invented and it’s very user friendly. I decided to pay for their annual membership because I wanted to help support a free app in which i use constantly and doesn’t fail me. I love the feature where we can see the buses real time movements if another Transit user presses ‘Go’. I also like how I can see what time i’m going to get to my destination while i’m riding the bus. My county also has two types of bus companies (one for the county and one for the metropolitan area) and this app has both companies all in one app. If i didn’t have Transit I would’ve had to use tow different websites which can sometimes not work properly. Thank you Transit team and thank you for the funny commentary under the “What’s new?” section on the app store.Version: 5.10.7

Great app nationwide, and fun release notes (seriously)Living in a big city, I have lots of transit app options but no matter how many I try, I keep coming back here. It just works and keeps just working (“just keeps working”?). Occasionally I’ll try another but only a few stay on the first page of my phone. This, as you probably guessed by the 5-stars, is one of them. Even better, it’s clear the developers really enjoy their jobs, which makes me even happier to support them. If you want proof, read their release notes. No, seriously. I know no one reads those, because they’re usually boring and uninformative “bug fixes and minor improvements” again???), but these are useful and surprisingly entertaining. The best thing about happy engineers is knowing it’s likely the app will stick around and keep getting better. Kudos all around. Except for the “All Star” ear worm from the most recent release notes, which is *still* stuck in my head. I’m just glad it wasn’t Rick Ashley. Oh no, now I have TWO ear worms!.Version: 5.12.7

Used to be more accurate5/5/18 update: First, thanks to the developer for responding to my original review. I’m not sure what good screen shots would do, but here’s a specific example from last week Monday, morning: I got to the bus stop and checked your app for the arrival of the next bus. It said 19 minutes and that the last bus had gone through four minutes earlier. Instead if waiting such a long time, I opted to jump in a shared bike that happened to be parked nearby. No sooner than I’d pedaled all of a mile (about five minutes later) and, whoosh, the bus goes flying by. All of relevant buses appearing in the schedule were displaying with the GPS tracking indicator, but none of the times was accurate. Maybe you could query Valley Transit about their useless signalling. ______________ I have relied upon this app in the Phoenix metro area for going on two years and consider it an essential part of my commute and even incidental use of public transit. However, it seems that recently it’s less accurate, even for buses that are supposedly being tracked with GPS. I’ll keep using it, because I really like its user interface and features, but I’m hoping, a lot, that the accuracy of arrival times improves—soon..Version: 4.4.4

New Royale systemSo I see there is a new system for the app upcoming. I have been using the app since I was a freshman in high school and am currently a junior, this App has been pretty accurate as new schedules are established but the new system will unfortunately make it difficult for students like myself to navigate using the app, seeing limited busses and may make it almost as inconvenient as using the papers distributed on the metros for their schedules. I do understand that this may become costly for the developers over time to run the app and I am fine with ads such as little bars on the top of the screen that roll but aren’t obnoxiously in the way but enough to gather funds from users that don’t have sufficient funds (teenagers/poor adults) to receive reliable; accurate times of the busses and keep the ability to see future busses later that day or other days. But I would like to thank the developers of having an app I was able to use for a few years now and it has been great for navigation thus very useful when you are trying to get around without a vehicle in the city..Version: 5.10.1

Getting better(Down below is a review from several months ago and the developers reached out to me pretty quickly about the glitch which I appreciate.) I do have a new piece of feedback. Today a bus was was running 2-3 minutes ahead of the app & its scheduled time, and I watched it pass me as I turned the corner to the bus station. The app was still showing it a few blocks away from reaching the station instead of where it really was, already a block and a half passed it - but that’s not the reason I’m writing this, GPS glitches happen. When I’m on the bus I can rate whether it’s running ahead or behind of schedule, and having watched it go by early I wanted to warn other people further down the line, but I couldn’t. There wasn’t any way to mark it as “running early!!” once I’d missed it. I think that’d be a great feature to add to improve the crowd sourcing. This app had been glitchy for a while - killing phone battery, missing buses and only announcing that they were on their way when they arrived, but today it straight up stopped working, repeatedly giving a “no transit options found” error in the middle of the day.Version: 5.15.14

A good app but some suggestions.I do use the LA metro bus to travel from home to my college campus or to the gym but the app sometimes glitches out and does not give me more accurate details on when the bus would be arriving please add a feature where it would even show the name of the driver and the contact information of the driver maybe or an option to call metro for help if you are not sure about which bus station it is that you would need to take. I also think that the app would have the bus icon turn grey and it would keep on telling me to wait for the bus but the bus never came and this was causing a lot of stress for me because I was forced to walk all the way home for 43 minutes. And also please add more metro bus drivers. And there should be safer features on to have an emergency button and also the locations are inaccurate and the times and schedule of the buses are not posted and the bus drivers are somehow rude as well. PLEASE ADD A LIVE LOCATION FEATURE FOR FREE SO THAT I CAN BE ABLE TO KNOW WHERE THE BUS IS..Version: 5.17.11

I appreciate great developers 😊As a 10 year iOS developer myself, I really appreciate good user interfaces and experiences while using an app. Transit app has not only been super helpful in getting me where I need to go in a timely fashion, but it’s a fun social way to travel with features like the “leaderboard”. To be able to see how many other riders and commuters you’ve helped along the way is pretty awesome. Keep up the great work. I’d like to see better features regarding how accurate the app is “real time” bus updates as sometimes I’m not even aboard a bus and the app may tell me “it looks like you missed the bus” when in fact the bus is simply late, so there should be some options to not start a trip until a rider either hit “start trip” perhaps making this an option as with my commute I take 4 different buses, so while the app will show me the exact route sometimes it’s off in regards to whether or not I am actually aboard a bus. Overall wonderful app and I look forward to its improvements!.Version: 5.12.9

Best App and Best Transit AppI have used this app for years, in multiple cities and it always gets me where I need to go. Started using it when my kids were going to be using public transit to get to middle school (the oldest will graduate high school this year). I would ride with them then use public transit to get to work. Transit let us know when we HAD to leave house and if I could squeeze more out of the snooze button. We have visited several different cities on vacation over the years and always check Transit to navigate for sightseeing so I don’t have to drive in an unfamiliar area. Their coverage is great and it is rare that we haven’t used the app (so far only towns that don’t actually have public transit). But the BEST thing about the app is the updates and the update notes. I would keep the app just to be able to read the witty update notes even if we didn’t use public transit. Truly a five star app backed by passionate dev team and organization. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!.Version: 5.15.1

Widget issues. Please read.Update to my original review. If you have already updated to the new version of the transit app and suffer from the issues I mentioned below remove the modern widget from your screen, and reboot and the old widget should reappear. At least in my case it took a couple of reboots but once it reappeared it has stayed. Hopefully this will get resolved in the next version. My original review is below explaining the situation. As of version 5.9.0 they have taken away the classic widget that provided the nearby departures for your location without opening the app. The modern widget they replaced it with not only fails to provide this information but it is also set up with a color scheme that is not accessible for people with visual impairments as well as the elderly who may be dealing with contrast issues between colors. Why they believe that light green text on a medium green background is a good idea I do not know. Lastly for users of the voiceover screen reader the buttons inside of the widget for the most part are not labeled. If the issues I mentioned above affect you I strongly recommend not upgrading..Version: 5.9.0

Love it when riding the bussesThis app is great! Not only does it help me get a better ETA when I’m going somewhere but it makes sure I get there at the time I want to be there. Personally enjoy seeing the map show where my bus currently is and the notifications to remind you when to get off is very helpful. Prefer to give 4.5 stars because I do have some feedback for improvements if the team sees my review. I just recently bought a Apple Watch and I know it has compatibility with the app but I was somewhat disappointed. I was expecting a smaller menu on the app so you may pick from a list of favorites and have the app give you the ASAP option for when you go. So when I’m on the bus or waiting instead of looking at my phone to see when my bus is arriving by the minutes or when to get off I could look at the watch and see oh it’s going to be here in 4min I should look out for it. And I should be off in 2 stops... I think just a minimalist menu be nice not just nearby line options. If it had this I would give 20stars!.Version: 5.6.8

Buses the app claims are coming, never doFirst off, let me say as a disclaimer that this review may be the fault of the Torrance California bus system rather than the app itself, and if I can be convinced that the issue is completely out of the hands of the app I could be convinced to change my rating, as the app design and features are actually decent. That out of the way, I have to give this app a low rating because I have repeatedly been left on the sidewalk and forced to get an Uber after the bus never shows up. The reason I blame the app for this is that it actually has GPS tracking on the buses in my area. I have seen them, I have followed them, and they are pretty accurate on the morning routes. So why, WHY can’t this app warn me when a given pickup time is likely to be skipped because it can’t find the bus on GPS? It tells me bus coming in 2 minutes….1 minute…0 minutes…-1 minutes… and no buses are anywhere in sight or with a GPS tracker. It gives the illusion of reliability and predictability, but this has scenario has happened to me enough times that I am not likely to use the bus or this app ever again. At the very least, you should have the ability to lodge a complaint. If a given metro authority gets enough complaints, the developers could forward them along and maybe enact change through strength in numbers. This app’s business model requires people to use the metro, and they should be invested in promoting consumer satisfaction however they can. EDIT: bumping my 1-star review up to 4-star. While I still have not ridden the bus recently, I may be willing to in the future. The app developers reached out to find out more about my issue, and they were very forthcoming about some current and future features that may help address my current predicament. They were never pushy about having me change my rating, but instead wanted me to make sure I knew they were working on it. Great customer service..Version: 5.10.10

The app is smart. Then it’s stupid. Then it’s smart…Great app. When it shows what you’re looking for. There are times, like every day, when the route it shows, is going in the opposite direction that I’m going in. So I move the purple pointer around on both sides of the street. It still doesn’t show the route for the direction I’m going. I keep moving it around, further away from the street I’m by. Eventually it shows what I’m looking for. Other times, it shows the current route, but not the exact location (which I don’t normally need). This is fine, but why sometimes and not other times? Is it the bus operator’s fault? The transit agency? And then if you do want to report a problem, they want all of the details. Ok, but the same problems keep occurring. Do the people who designed the apps (all of them) ever actually use them? I am firmly convinced that the people who design the systems used by regular people, never use the systems themselves, nor do they consult the end users..Version: 5.13.1

Best app for bus ridersThis is my preferred app for catching the bus. I love that you can get real time updates on when and where the buses are. When I’m at the bus stop, people are amazed when I can tell them exactly where the bus is when it runs late. I always tell them to download Transit. My one gripe is I hate that the app switches me to the next bus time when I’m awaiting a late bus, or are looking for the bus times too close to when one is expected to arrive. It often shows me the next hours bus route, which in my city is different than the current route. This gives Transit riders bad info because it might be a few minutes before I realize I’m offering real time info regarding this hours route for the next hour’s route. To fix this, I have to quickly type in a future stop on my route and hope the app kicks in and realizes what route I am currently on. Other than this funky bit, I recommend the app. I used to be a Royale subscriber and let my subscription end without renewing due to this bug. If it were fixed, I’d gladly resubscribe..Version: 5.12.8

A little annoyedI can only give a 3 star rating because I’m currently annoyed with the new layout on this app. I don’t need a sophisticated app to see where I’m going and how long it will take or I will need to wait. Before the new layout I could add a saved location where I normally pick up transit (I can still do that), but before I could click on that location and see ALL of the times the bus would come to that location. I would then time my trolley ride to coincide with the time I needed to be at that stop for the bus with minimal wait time. NOW with the new SOPHISTICATED app I CANNOT do this which leaves me with my current ANNOYANCE AND FRUSTRATION. I shouldn’t have to take so much time trying to figure this out when I’m already in a rush and now I have no idea when the will come at my saved location in 2 hours when I arrive there. Thanks a lot transit app! What’s the point of saving the location when I can only see the current time the bus will get there and not ALL of the future times?? Please fix this issue..Version: 5.0.2

Essential for NYC Commuters! As a New Yorker who relies on public transit daily, the Transit app has been an absolute lifesaver. It provides real-time arrival updates for subways and buses, making it easy to plan my trips without the usual guesswork. The trip planning feature is intuitive, offering multiple route options and factoring in service changes, which is crucial given how unpredictable the MTA can be. Even when I’m underground with no signal, I can still access my saved routes, which is a huge plus. I also love that it integrates CitiBike, ride-hailing, and even ferries, making it the ultimate all-in-one navigation tool. While occasional MTA delays don’t always update instantly, that’s more of a transit system issue than a flaw in the app itself. The free version works great, though some premium features like GO navigation could be useful for frequent riders. Overall, this app is a must-have for anyone navigating NYC, and it’s far superior to the official MTA app. Highly recommended!.Version: 5.17.9

Super helpful with public transitI’ve been looking for an app to help me track public transit times (specifically, NYC subway and bus times). I’ve been using mapping apps to do this for a long time but they don’t always have accurate arrival times. Transit is specifically designed around public transit and shows you local stops on subway, train, and bus lines. The best feature is the ability to have it track your bus or train in real-time so other people can see it’s actual position. Really a game-changing feature when you consider how often the official arrival times are off or just difficult to find. My only complaint is that if you get on a bus that doesn’t show up on the MTA’s app (for technical reasons) then your bus won’t shop up in the Transit app, even when you turn on real-time tracking. Hopefully they fix this issue soon. Very satisfied with these app as it really does the best job of helping you track bus, subway, and train times..Version: 5.9.12

Great app to use for travel ( concerned about this tho)Ya’lls app is pretty great! I have used it ever since I upgraded my phone 4 months ago 💯😎 Really helpful with bus trips, train trips and travel in general! 💯 This app is almost perfect 🤩👌🏾My concern is when I opened the app today and saw a notification saying ( I will have access to to nervy lines and times until September 13th) PLEASE DON’t TELL ME YA’LL ARE PULLING THE “MONEY CARD” ON US USERS FROMS YEARS AGO TO NOW!! Please don’t make the mistake of making people pay money just to see lines and times, that’s stupid, that should be free for everyone, otherwise your app would be useless to download, I beg ya’ll to think on this, your app is good the way it is, and a lot of people rely on it for travel, including me who is a college student who commutes 💯 Please don’t be “greedy” like other apps and take away the reason why people down load this app in the first place 😭💯 Tour app is great, if you haven’t done that change to this app by then and beyond I would gladly give a full five star rating 💯😎 PROMISE 💯💯 Thank you for reading 💯.Version: 5.10.0

Super helpful, some additional features would be niceThis app is pretty useful, I appreciate the voice notifications telling you when to get on/off a train & it’s the most accurate I’ve found for transit departures. That being said, a few things would be helpful if improved: - Inability to see different line departure times from the GO screen. I want to be able to click on a line directly from the GO screen and see when the next train is (if I miss it) or all the stops. - Missing lines. I’m in the greater Boston area and Google maps has information on smaller shuttle routes that run infrequently but regularly that I often take. This app only has MBTA data so it doesn’t have any of that info & I find I still have to use gmaps. - More multimodal options. This one is pretty niche so I don’t expect much, but bikeshare is often much faster than buses where I am, and I wish I had more options that replaced the bus section of a bus-subway transfer with bikeshare instead of having to use 2 separate gmaps trips..Version: 5.12.4

Promissing Ultimate Transit AppI have used Citymapper for years and have long considered it the ultimate transit app. But after several updates it has become increasingly difficult and frustrating to work. Transit is a nice simpler easy to use alternative to Citymapper. The app is also easier to read and easier to plan trips with. I only have four gripes with this app: 1) It doesn’t show bus stops. I live in a NJ NYC suburb and with Citymapper, I can see the stops when pulling up the map for both MTA and NJT. In this app, I only know there is a nearby stop based on location. I would like to be able to see all the stops in a given location when panning the map so I can see different options. 2) I wish it had more major cities. While I think its continuously adding new cities, it pales to Citymapper where I can virtually use it for every major city I travel to around the world. It seems the developers of this app are adding cities continuously. That being said, please keep this up as this will be app has excellent potential for people like me who do alot of international travel. It can be an excellent must have app. 3) I would like to see a service status summary page of all the major subway or metro lines of the city instead of having to pull up the specific line to see if there are any delays. I do alot of traveling with the subway for work to different job sites and its nice to just pull up a summary and know which lines to avoid. 4) Widget doesn’t work. It just says “unable to load.”.Version: 5.7.17

Since I can’t find your email...This is my go-to Transit app. However, in a recent update, the app started automatically changing to the next route time if it appears that I’m going to miss a bus - and it doesn’t allow me to return to the prior route schedule. One of the stops I use most often has the wrong lat/lon values. As a result, the app thinks I should be a block away from where the stop actually is. At the time the bus is supposed to be there, the app switches to the next route time, thinking I’m going to miss the bus. Then, I can’t see my transfer point any longer, till the app figures out that I’m on the right bus after all. This is very frustrating!!! The app should ASK me if I want to switch to the next route time or stay on the current route time!!! (Since this app is supposedly crowd-sourced, optimally it should notice that I’m catching the bus a block away, or let me note the correct location - but, no, it doesn’t offer that option!) So PLEASE put back the ability to KEEP the original route result even if it appears I’ve missed the bus!!!.Version: 5.1.2

Does it jobs wellI am in love with Transit. Does it have its bugs? Yes. They make it super easy to report though, just click email through the app and explain the situation. All my local transit agencies (even the ones who don’t provide live updates for location) are in the app and the schedules are accurate. I think it’s important to note that if the schedules are wrong, it’s usually on the transit agencies for not sending updated information to apps like Transit. I always am emailing my local transit agencies in an attempt to have them share their vehicles locations with Transit. Every app can be improved, no exceptions here, I wish walking directions were improved, I tend to use Apple Maps for walking directions then switching to Transit and I wish I could do it all from one app. Overall, a very solid app, has everything that I expect and the Transit team are always super responsive and helpful when I have reported bugs..Version: 5.15.15

Update ruined integral featuresThis app used to be the most useful thing on my phone! It was pretty much the only reason I was able to get to class on time as a committee without a car, and i suggested it to all of my friends who were planning on taking public transit for anything. That was until the most recent update. In the prior version there was a feature that would verbally tell you how much time you had before you had to leave for the train, but in the most recent version that feature seems to have gone away :(. Even when I tell the app to give me a notification noting happens, half the time I don’t even get a banner… I tried turning off the only give audible notifications when headphones connected feature, but that only had it warning me right when I had to leave. This is inconvenient because previously I was able to set the app to warn me 30 or 15 minutes before I had to go, which was useful as it helped me keep track of how much time I had while getting ready on the other side of the room..Version: 6.0.5

If you rely on public transportation this app isn’t it for youI honestly wouldn’t recommend using this app. 95% of the time it glitches or freezes and exits on its own. This has happened more then 10 times where I catch the earliest bus to get to work on time and it shows I’ve either missed it but that’s not possible if I’m at the bus stop waiting for 10-15 minutes to get here and the app also states the same minutes as well. Or it also can extend the time frame example right now it told me to leave my house at 6:59 the bus would get there at 7:10 I’ve been waiting and I see no bus until I check the app it switches the tike further to 7:35 .. the company/city needs to get it together & figure out the root of the problem. I am one of the people who rely on bus transportation to get to work and I can’t afford losing my job because of how many times the bus routes choose to change or choose the certain time to come ..Version: 5.10.1

Creative UpdatesLove the bug fix messages. I don’t usually read update messages but with you guys it’s worth it. You’re great! Keep doing whatever you’re doing..Version: 4.4.1

Magnificence!I freaking love this app it’s really useful. However, the thing I love the most is when I go to update it and read the update notes and start reading them. just giggling myself. Whoever writes those needs an award. Woot woot!.Version: 5.4.16

DisappointedThis used to be a great app - even more helpful than google in terms of public transport. Recently updated my phone and was disappointed to see that you have to pay a subscription now in order to see certain transit lines. Information regarding *public* transportation should be free for all. Even if this app had ads instead I wouldn’t mind. But a subscription? Guess I’ll use google maps instead now..Version: 5.15.3

Love the appSuper great app and much better alternative than texting the bus. However, the best part is the updates. You MUST read what they write in the update description..Version: 5.6.5

Stop updating the UII don’t get why the app developers keep feeling the need to change the UI every year. Like the app works fine so just leave it alone.Version: 6.0.3

AmazingI love this app makes everything easier no more stress of planning out your trip, Nanaimo BC.Version: 4.4

Font ChangeLove this app but the new font is much harder to read!.Version: 6.0.2

The new interfaceThe Transit app itself and its functions are quite nice, giving oftentimes accurate estimates for bus and train arrivals. However, I find there are several drawbacks to the new interface that the 6.0 update brings. The layout is much more complicated and spread out, compared to the clean and concise menus the old interface offered. Font sizes vary so widely, that there is little coherence in the overall design. I find this quite overwhelming and off-putting, both to new and old users. Additionally, a rotating map is a feature the new interface lacks. As small as this detail seems, it greatly improves one’s ability to navigate city maps. Incorporating this element would greatly improve the 6.0 interface, making it easier to navigate the map and find nearby stops. Overall, the Transit app is a very useful app that provides mostly accurate alerts and estimates. Its main drawback is the new 6.0 interface, being rather chaotic and hard to navigate. To improve on these faults, I suggest making the font sizes more regular (sticking to perhaps 3 sizes; small, medium and large), allowing the map to rotate, and condensing the overall layout would lead to a better and more approachable interface..Version: 6.0.1
