IQAir Atem Car & Desk Customer Service

It’s a little hard to rate this. IQ Air products are incredibly great built, especially the Atem line. But everything related to software is behind hardware. Their website although good looking is hard to find the replacement filters page, info is limited, and they make no promotions, discounts or subscription options. This APP is fairly good, but sometimes you get some glitches like the APP not connecting immediately with the device, or not updating speed settings. But all these are NoT very common. That’s why I’m rating this APP 4 stars.

Yes. This app is intuitive and easy to use interface with the info you need. It's giving you the filter condition the temp and humidity in the car. It gives control of the unit for fan speed and customizing fan speed and turning unit on or off. It gives access to user manual and other setup details.. It's pretty complete with automatic check for the firmware updates and guides you through the simple update process. It helps you register your product as well.

The app is ok, but the Atem itself is excellent. During the Canadian wildfires air quality disaster in the northeast - during which our local EPA official AQI went over 400 - the interior of my car was completely odor free. Open the car door and the smell was overwhelming. Close it, and a few minutes later the car was clear. I used the app to boost the Atem to 100%, rather than my usual 50-75%.

I love this app! Everything you need to see, clearly arranged. And you can do so much, like vary the fan speeds, the lights and the sound. You can even see the room temperature and humidity. Sometimes I look at the app even when I don’t really need to. 😁I also love that you can order filter replacements straight from the app. Highly recommended!

I was surprised to learn there was an app for my air purifier! It makes it easy for me to adjust the intensity level of each low, med, and high setting. Additionally, I now know the room temperature and the humidity. Which is amazing! The app was easy to pair and now I don’t have to get up to turn my device on or off.

Ai really love my Atem car filter and would love to have a feature where the filter automatically switches between high to medium to low depending on the air quality inside the car without me manually checking and adjusting.

Loved it. Connected seamlessly to Bluetooth. Breathing improved! Wish list: some kind of automation/timer where it start and shuts off daily like the during night time when I need it.

It’s pretty responsive and gives you plenty of control over the low medium and high settings. Only down side which is understandable is if you leave the Atem in a hot car in AZ, in the summer, it will be too hot and won’t function at all so you’d need to take the Atem out with you.

We live full time in our RV and this device has cut the amount of dust and other particles down so much! Well worth the investment. App is simple and informative.

I’ve never had any problems with this app. I love how it tracks how much life you have left on the filter and also the temperature and humidity.

High quality product. Intuitive App. Also it’s user friendly. No cluttered UI.

Provides great access to manage the configuration and operation of the unit. Only concern is with possible power consumption.

I was excited to use the smart on/off feature offered by this app, but sadly it does not work. I mean, technically the feature does work. If I keep the IQAir app open and on-screen while my phone’s screen is on, the app will turn the Atem on and off based on my proximity to the device. However, if I turn my phone’s screen off, navigate to the Home Screen, or launch another app, the IQAir app will no longer control the Atem. I don’t fully close or force close the IQAir app. The app is still open in the background, but despite this the smart on/off functionality does not work. Instead, I have to by a power switch I can control using my phone to make up for the broken feature provided by IQAir. I suppose all this should not be a surprise to me. IQAir’s home air quality monitor has a bug where it provides the wrong location name when viewing a device, which I reported back in 2021, but the IQAir team hasn’t gotten around to fixing it yet. It’s a shame that such good hardware is spoiled by poor software.

I like the app features, including the ability to adjust fan speeds higher than the Atem’s default fan speeds for low/medium/high, the display of current temperature and humidity, and the display of filter life, BUT Bluetooth connectivity is poor. Even with my iPhone sitting only 1 foot away, it kept disconnecting, such that firmware updates to the Atem were impossible. Only when I leaned my iPhone against my Atem could I successfully install firmware updates. I can’t use the “Smart on/off” feature because with my iPhone on my bedside table, only 3 feet away from my Atem, the connection is poor enough that my Atem keeps shutting on and off. Bummer. The only way I can reconnect with the Atem after I lose Bluetooth connection with it is to remove the app running in my iPhone’s background and re-launch the app. Also, I have tried at least 5 times to register my device via the app. Each time I’ve filled out the form and (seeing that my device’s serial number is auto-filled for me) I hit the submit button. Each and every time, I get returned to a blank form! No indication from the app that my registration was successful. Atem has more work to do on this app.

The app still some bugs to be worked out. The Bluetooth is weak as others stated if you leave the room does not reach. Also very upsetting I cannot register the device because the link leads to a “ no website found” answer. I do like the other features like to be able to control the speed by phone.

Living in my car, I thought getting a car air purifier would be a smart move. Apparantly this thing has a "feature" where it auto turns off when the car stops moving to "save power". As with most van/car-lifers i have an external battery this is hooked up to, so power isnt an issue. So it just ends up leaving me breathing soot-filled air while I sleep because the developers thought theyd help me out by not giving me the option to customize how long i want the fan to be on. Thanks for the morning of nausea! 5 stars if they fix it, but this product literally makes me puke rn. Currently using my dyson fan until this gets fixed.

The app works about 60% of the time when I leave the app open in background. Sometimes it turns the Atem on or off when I am close to the Atem or far from it. If I walk up to the Atem, it sometimes will not turn back on. I have to quit the app and re-launch the app after which it usually connects to the Atem and starts it.

Doesn’t always work, says out of range when I’m right next to it & on network. Would love if it worked remotely like other brands. Auto on/off definitely doesn’t work either

I just received this Atem today here in NYC. IQAir App does not see the Atem device whatsoever. Utterly functionless, no reason to have the App if it does not even see the Atem device to attempt to initiate pairing in the first place. Complete failure. I was planning on purchasing the HealthPro Plus if this test run of IQAir Atem went well due to my concerns of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and Covid-19 here in Manhattan. haha The app didn't even *see* the device at all. Will give it two weeks from today. Update to come... Cheers and health!

At first it let me pair my atem just fine. Then it asked to update firmware. After that it won’t connect to the device at all. If I can even get the pairing to work it won’t pull up the keyboard to allow me enter the pairing number. Deleted app and tried multiple times with 0 luck. Really frustrating for such an expensive filter to have such a crappy app

Walking a few feet away from Atem, app loses connectivity. Shortest bluetooth reception on the planet. I have two desktop Atem devices. Same for both of them. I have to get so close to use the app — may as well just tap the Atem.

New Atem installed and the iOS app downloaded, only to have to update it within 24hours: Uninstall the app, reinstall after update and delete the old app from Bluetooth memory. Why not just have the updated version on App Store? Major hassle factor

I’ve got an Atem Desktop and an Atem Car. I found the Car version also turned itself off and had to be manually turned on? Is this by design (if so, please make it possible to disable this) or a flaw?

Nice to easily control air purifier without reaching into the back area - registration site not working on app or online

This app does not properly maintain settings, frequently requires annoying login, and was a disaster after a firmware upgrade. Had to go through entire setup and initialization after what should have been a simple upgrade. The air purifier is a 5 star but app is inferior.

For the price, this device is an inconvenience and should be CarPlay compliant. The only way to effectively use it is to plan ahead of driving or have a passenger turn on the IQair Atem. I really hope that IQair expediently releases a CarPlay compliant app, heck they could sell more filters since I’ll be using it more…hint hint.

For year's I've hoped that after each new version of the app and new versions of device firmware it would eventually work. Unfortunately the smart on/off feature only works intermittently and the app most be force closed to connect to my Atem

App will not connect to the Atem after over an hour trying. FIX YOUR CRAPPY APP and update your website with actual, helpful info. Your company looks like a joke. I’ve purchased several purifiers and an air quality meter but seriously, your company needs to invest in customer service.

I can’t believe that app still doesn’t support Siri or CarPlay despite this being a product that’s specifically designed to be used while driving. This requires me to park my car every time I want to change the iq Air setting (e.g. due to changing outdoor air conditions).

Does not pair with device reliably. After turning on app after a while it does not detect the purifier and I have to force close and reopen the app to connect again

Right after a year, Bluetooth was getting jittery and eventually gone. Customer support is meh 😑 Similar experience on other IQAir products. Will no longer give them a dime in the future.

It doesn’t work well if I am in another room and this device is so badly engineered that it is almost impossible to operate without the app. Very frustrating

Have had issues pairing this with my device. Tried deleting and re-adding the app to the phone, unplugging the Atem, and toggling on/off by Bluetooth...each multiple times. Very disappointed in this app.

It was a little buggy before, but now after the firmware and software updates the smart on off feature with the phone Bluetooth no longer works.

Lost both temperature and humidity readings on both units I own with the last update. Worked great before?!?!?

After initially setting up the app I could connect but now I have no luck.

The app didn’t work after a firmware update. I followed the instructions and even reloaded the app, still can not find my device.

Kludgy… should be able to add the atem desk into my IQAir app I use for the other purifiers from IQAir

They make good air purifier but technologies they are not

It won’t connect anymore because it says my Bluetooth is disabled, although it is not disabled. 🤷‍♂️

They got rid of the smart feature. The machine turns off by itself.

There’s no air quality monitoring

No keyboard ever appears for iPhone X

After the second firmware update, (the 5 minute one, not the first 10 minute one), the app can no longer get to the page where you can enter the Bluetooth pairing code. The app just says cannot connect to the device.

Try to pair to phone. When I come to entering the pairing code, no keyboard pops up to enter the numbers. Pairing then fails.

The app show the atem need to update. The atem can’t connect to phone after update. Terrible experience!

0 stars. Registered multiple times and it freezes up. Not my iPad as it is a pro and works perfect.
