IBreathe – Relax and Breathe Positive Reviews

Best breathing app…period.Update: I love this app. But, honestly, I didn’t like the tip jar button on the finish screen. However, I understand better now that the developer really does want to make the app available to the most people for the most economical price. I know it can help with day to day stress. I use it all the time. Even though I paid for the app (to remove ads) I’m also fine with giving a tip to help support the app and further development knowing now that I know my tip will make the tip jar button disappear. That part wasn’t clear to me. I appreciate the developer reaching out and explaining their rationale for tip jar. Karma points to you for wanting to help as many people as possible. Old review: I understand you don’t want to increase the cost of the app and you say that the “tip jar button” after the session is meant to not be intrusive, but it is. And to me, after paying for the ad free version and supporting the app, the tip prompt is stressful after doing the breathing. Exactly opposite of what the app is intended for. Just raise the cost of the app. People will pay it. Honestly, I don’t even want to use the app anymore because of that tip button. I don’t have a good solution for you, but I’d pay $5 as a tip to never see the tip jar button again. I will gladly change my review if you are able to come up with a better solution than the tip jar button..Version: 6.3

ReviewThis app has been very beneficial to me leading up to finals week. I downloaded this app to see if it would help me decrease my stress levels during the two week period I spend completing my assignments for the semester, and studying for my final exams. The breathing interval of inhaling for 4 seconds, holding for 5 and exhaling for 6 really helped slow my heart rate down when I began to get stressed out about different assignments. Slowing down the heart rate helps to decrease stress levels because when the heart rate is fast, your oxygen intake is lower, which can actually stress you out more. I also used this app before taking one of my tests, because I tend to get bad testing anxiety. Doing a breathing exercise prior to taking my test calmed me down quite a bit, and now I don’t think i’ll be able to test without doing it. Since I was calmer during my test, I did better on it than I had on others in the same class. Doing breathing exercises lowers anxiety levels because you can feel you’re chest tightening when you’re anxious, and taking deep breaths relieves this. Another reason why breathing exercises are beneficial is because without that anxious feeling, I am happier than usual after doing my breathing exercise..Version: 4.3

Would be better if it could be used with the screen off and with other apps being used.-saw you replied, looking forward to the update! Also hope I didn’t sound too critical haha. It is a solid app. I may have sounded too harsh with my comments on the visuals. My own personal use of the app leans towards the audio and vibrations, but there are times that I have found myself dependent on the visuals (like if I’m in a public place). So it’s been a great mix. But definitely looking forward to the update! For example. I love reading books on my phone and it would be great to be able to use this app while reading my book. Right now the breathing sessions pause when I try to use other apps. What’s important is the timer and the intervals, I don’t need to see the visual at all really. Most times I have my eyes closed anyway because I primarily switch between the inhales, exhales, holds based on the vibration or audio cues. So the intervals, audio & vibrations could be used in the background when I read my books you know what I mean? It also drives me nuts that I have to have the screen on completely to use the app. I don’t understand why it’s not like any music app, where the audios/vibrations can still operate when the screen is off..Version: 6.3

Great appMany breathing apps and meditations where they have you inhale, hold and exhale for a certain amount of time makes me nervous because the counting just makes me anxious. For example with box breathing they will count to a number, hold for a number of seconds, and exhale for a number of seconds all while counting. That makes me anxious and it makes me feel like I can't breath. But this app is much better. It has a visual of an outline of a circle filling up or draining and there is no counting either on the screen or out loud. (There may be an option for a verbal countdown but if so I don't want it and have it off). Thus the app is very calming. You can also customize how long you inhale, hold (if you hold at all) exhale and hold at the exhale (if you do at all) and you can customize the intervals. They do have presets like the box one and other common ones but I like that you can customize it because I've often felt like the typical breathing times for out there are too short and I feel like I'm panting and making myself more anxious. But not with this app! It's great! 5 stars!.Version: 6.3

Great for Covid long haulersI caught Covid two years ago, before the vaccine, and am still suffering from the long term effects. I’ve needed a breathing program to help me increase my CO2 tolerance and exercise my lungs. I’ve tried a number of them before I found iBreathe. It’s simple, effective and, best of all, easy to use. I created a custom routine for me and I’m using it multiple times a day. I use it on my iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. It’s been a game changer for me. Yes, you have to pay to remove ads, but it’s a tiny fee and well worth it. What would I change? Make the count of remaining reps larger. Allow multiple customizations. I’m being picky, because this is such a great app already. Update: I am using the update. Thanks for adding the countdown to start. It’s nice to get settled before the routine begins. The extra customizations are great. Now I can program in my entire Long Covid protocol. Since using this program, my oxygen saturation has gone from 89-90 to 95. That is a HUGE increase, and using your program for my breathing therapy played a big part in making that happen..Version: 6.0.1

Simple and streamlineI like the simple interface. The tone that marks the inhale and exhale is great, and you can choose to have voice commands if you like. Also nice to have options to create custom intervals and save them so you can easily choose which one to do. And the length of the session can be set by selecting the number of cycles to do. Another reviewer complained about the tip jar at the end of a session. I’d you don’t like it, it disappears once you drop some change in it. The app works great as if is, but if the developer is bored they could add programs. I’m trying to increase my breath lengths, so it might be nice to do 5 minutes of one type of interval, the 5 minutes of another type and so on. In fact, I’ve been looking for a meditation timer that will give me a chime at 1 minute and the chimes at intervals and a final triple chime. How hard can that be?.Version: 6.3

Breathing Distractions Included.5 stars for app architecture. Down to 4 stars for ads.— It’s one thing to have ad banners (unless you pay the nominal price to remove them) but when the ad takes over a given page with no way out but to shutdown and restart the app, it’s too much. So, I paid to have the distraction of ads removed. Down to 3 stars for continuing to ask for money in the form of a “tip jar”-an after-breathing-reflection-moment distraction for sure. In an era when consumers are constantly bombarded with requests for tips in even the most unlikely of venues, it would seem that a fair-trade price for a product or service would be sufficient and, well,…fair. Update: After paying the price to remove ads, the In-app tip-jar says tipping “any amount” will remove the tip-jar button that pops up after a breathing session. You can choose between 4 tipping options: $ .99, 1.99, 4.99 and 9.99… 1) These options prevent the choice of tipping “any amount”. 2) The developer’s response to my original review indicates a tip as low as $.50 will remove the tip-jar button. Hmmm, I don’t see that option..Version: 6.8

Breathe rightLooked for a lot of breathing app and this one was the best. I wanted full control over the breathing pace and this has it. I can adjust the breaths by the millisecond, not just the second. I had an issue where my Apple Watch would pause after a couple breaths so I sent an email to the developer. He replied within the hour and had an update ready to go to fix it the next day. Apple had updated the watch OS and he was ready to fix the app for the update. So he’s on top of the app. The only things I could think to improve would be make the cycles left type bigger for the Apple Watch and get some alternative voices using AI to do the cycle changes. That’s more of a fun to have. I like the female voice that is currently used. And pay to get rid of the ads. It’s worth it if you want to breath right..Version: 6.7

Simply GreatI am an RN and I’ve known about the virtues of deep breathing for years. It was actually the first form of Complimentary/Alternative Medicines my professor talked about in nursing school. There is tons of clinical evidence out there and any Respiratory Therapist can tell you how important breathing is- that’s why they have jobs. This app has replaced my other deep breathing app. I customized that one after a lot of experimentation over the years, but this one was so easy to set the way I like (and the default settings did a lot of the work, if I’m being honest). If you know anyone directly/indirectly affected by Covid, please tell them to download this app and try to use it for a few minutes at least once a day to aid in general health and maybe even keep them from ever having to worry about a ventilator..Version: 5.0

Make available for Apple Watch!!!!I’ve used other apps for breathing exercises and relaxation but none of them beat this simple yet colorful app. It’s the only app that offer notifications sounds when to inhale and exhale and hold. It’s also the only app to set intervals and has true box breathing. Other apps fall short compared to this app. Please make available for Apple Watch. This would be great if Users dont have to be attached to phones all the time. For those who have Apple Watch series 6 with the updated health specs, with cellular it’s no longer necessary to have your phone throughout the day. I have reminders set on the app so I receive notifications on my series 6 but can’t activate breathing unless I have my phone. Apple’s mindfulness app for apple watch doesn’t have box breathing. Please add Apple Watch app soon..Version: 4.3

Excellent appI just wish they’ll come out with an update to add a breathing program where you start faster and end up slower for example inhale and exhale starts with four seconds and then by the time you finish your set up program you’ll be breathing at seven seconds that would be awesome because when you use this you really want to breathe slower after a few times and you almost can’t catch up with the program because normally everyone who starts to do this kind of breathing usually the breathing becomes slower but this is not bad but I just wish I can see an update with setting you’re on program of what you start with and what you end up with and I’ll take you slowly up throughout the duration..Version: 5.1

My Most Important App (Update)I’ve been using this app for years and it’s a gift that keeps on giving. Love the new features added over the years. Having the app on my watch too is just icing on the cake. Thank you for this app! After watching Alan Watkin’s Ted Talk on how impactful it is to breathe rhythmically (equal time spent exhaling and inhaling), I looked for an app to time my breaths. This one is the second app I stumbled upon and my search has come to a happy ending. Love this. Simple, customizable, and oozing in value. I hope to use this at least once every day. Wondering if the developers would consider allowing the app to run in the background while the phone is locked. Would love to keep it running while I’m at my desk at work. Either way, great app..Version: 6.3

Understated yet POWERFULThis app is the most useful in the whole App Store! I am not over exaggerating when I point out the power balanced with simplicity. First things first, powerful! We all are looking for an app to give us value of some kind, when seeking out these type of apps for relaxation and actual improvement in the state of our body/mind. This app puts the others in its category to shame. A free app that doesn’t collect my data, and is simple yet thorough in everything it sets out to accomplish, yes please! It crushes the best of the meditation hours long videos scattered all over video sharing platforms. People get this app and rave about it for one reason only. It works! Get this gem! And support this type of company!.Version: 6.5

This app saves meAfter doing ten cycles I feel as relaxed as I am when I take Xanax. I have panic disorder. I have hyperthyroidism that triggers the panic. I don’t want to take pills. I want to set my mind right and change my neural pathways. This app is such an amazing tool for me. I do this multiple times per day even if I’m not having panic. There are two pathways to anxiety. The cortex thinking part of your brain and the amygdala which is the physical response. The heart pounding, shortness of breath, sweating kind of anxiety. This app allows the para sympathetic nervous symptom (rest and digest) take over the sympathetic nervous system (flight or fight). The only way to get rid of the amygdala response of anxiety is exercises such as this app. Downloading this was the best thing I did for myself and my path to balanced mental health..Version: 4.1

Best breathing appI have been looking for a streamlined breathing app that I still had control over, and I found it here. This app is straightforward and customizable. You can quickly get to the breathing interval that you want and can create your own or tweak the ones that come with the app. Compared with other apps that have too many unnecessary features (like asking me my mood after every breathing session), this one is a joy to use. Others have mentioned ads and the tip jar, but for me it is a small price to pay for what I get from the app. It would be great for a future enhancement if it could feed into the iPhone Fitness app, but I’m happy to use it stand alone too..Version: 6.8

RelaxingI love the breathing exercises they have! The interface is very easy to navigate and the options for customizations are great! I can turn on clicks to count off and also a person to tell me when to inhale, exhale and hold. This is a great option for me because then I can just focus on the breathing exercise instead of trying to keep track of time and just follow the directions. You have the option to turn it off it you want to for the people who want it silent. All in all a great app. You can also customize a breathing pattern too. My only gripe is that it doesn’t have a great variety of breathing exercises like those designed to energize..Version: 5.5

IBreathe Relax and BreatheOn December 1, 2020 my Doctor Cheng Ruan of Houston and Geny Moreno, Mind Body Coach recommended that I start breathing exercises for transition to breathing through the nose only. So I did and it has been very beneficial for sleep and blood pressure. They recommended the best selling book BREATH by James Nestor which says that the mouth is for eating and the nose is for breathing. The exercises are not difficult but keeping in mind all that you are doing was difficult until a friend, Dale Thomas recommended the iBreathe app which is programmable by simple slider bar and then with voice and very helpful graphics guides you through each inhale, breath hold, exhale and breath hold. It is so simple to use it is recommended for 4+. Carl Mullen.Version: 5.0

My most important appI can’t say enough good things about this app. I use it for meditation. I use it for insomnia. Whenever I think I’m about to make a bad decision or send an angry text, I spent 20 minutes with this app, and I get control of myself. I love to get under my weighted blanket and use this app. It’s almost as effective as Xanax. I’ve gone out to my car at lunch at work and used this app when I’m super stressed. It helps me get my mind right. I’ve been waiting to years for voice commanded breathing prompts. It’s so much more relaxing than staring at a visual prompt on your phone. I paid the 99 cents to get rid of ads. In love that you can customize your sessions. This is my most important app on my phone. LOVE IT.Version: 2.0

A Very Good Ad-Supported AppThis is very close to what I’m looking for an a breathing app. The interface is not quite as intuitive as I’d like, but I was able to navigate it after a few ministers of pressing menu items. I’d like to see a few tweaks I think would make the app more useful. •Adding a .25s delay after pressing Start and after each bell or interval change signal would make me feel less rushed to sync with the different intervals. As it is I feel I’m “chasing” the ball and not in sync with it. This would also help with latency when using my HomePod for the audio. •Adding a double chine of the bell (which sounds quite nice btw) to signal the end of a breathing session would tell me of session’s end when breathing through my eyelids. •Adding multiple notifications would allow me to set 3 or 4 sessions throughout the day to settle my breathing and mind. I’ve looked at several other apps and none come as close to meeting my preferences as this one. 99¢ to removed ads is a great value, and thankfully, they don’t appear during the breathing sessions. All in all, this is a very clean app, elegant in it’s simplicity. I’m happy to have found it..Version: 3.2

Great app for tuning out painFiancé busted her knee in an automobile accident and the nurse suggested this app to get her mind off of the pain and to try to not hold her breath for long periods of time, essentially trying to tune it out by holding her breath. Apparently all that does is create pressure on a lot of things🤪so by creating a breathing cycle set with 4 second holds and helping her get used to doing it when hurting I essentially made my work load lighter and helped her manage pain a lil bit or at minimum distract her away from it…….win win win? I vote yes! Easy to use and setup and affordable if you want to make ads disappear ($2.99) lifetime 10/10 for us!.Version: 6.3

Better than the rest but not ideal yetI find this is the best of the many, many breathing apps I’ve tried and tested. I love the simplicity of this one and it does exactly what I need it to without too much excess. My major complaints are that it’s not possible to listen to another app while using this and I can’t lock the screen or exit the app while still using the timer and hearing the sounds for the breath changes. My minor complaint would be that I don’t much like the tone for the changing of breath. I wish the tone was a bit gentler or there was an ability to make the tone different, maybe even different for each change so I always know where am in the breath pattern..Version: 6.4

PLEASE add countingThis app would be perfect if there was an option to add counting, or vibration indicators so I don’t need to angle my head down to see the app. It would also be great if we could change the BPM of the counts, instead of only using seconds. For example, some sort of voice indicator, or different bell sound, that would announce inhale, two, three, four, hold, two, three, four, five, six, seven, exhale, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Or inhale, beep beep beep, hold, beep beep beep beep beep beep, exhale, beep beep beep beep beep beep beep. The way the app is designed currently forces your head to angle to see the phone which isn’t good for breathing. Big oversight..Version: 4.0

Simple App, Love the CustomizationThis app is really simple to use. I don’t get distracted when I open it up to use it. I paid to get the ads removed, because I see the value in having something simple, reliable, and easy to use. I love the custom section! As I learn more about breathing, I just wish you could save multiple “custom” settings. If I want to switch between two different custom breathing exercises, I have to dial them in each time. I wish you could save them so that you have have a custom #1, custom #2, custom #3, etc. I would love to see this feature one day!🙏.Version: 5.3

Absolutely phenomenalI had to download and delete 4 breathing apps before I found one that finally didn’t require a subscription just to use! This app is exactly what I wanted and needed and I am thrilled with the level of customization that can be done, you can set your own intervals and create your own exercises as well as having the option to pick from a great selection (that you can also tweak to your preferences). I’m amazed that this app is free and I encourage everyone who wants to practice mindful breathing to give it a try! Thank you so so much to the dev:).Version: 6.5

Great, easy and helpful app!I got this app for the purpose of trying to relieve test anxiety and stress. We participated in a breathing exercise within my Abnormal Psychology class and it seemed to be pretty beneficial so I decided to find a breathing app. This app was very helpful when it came to reducing my test anxiety. I would do the exercise before an exam. This exercise included: inhale for a few seconds, hold & exhale. This app included the benefits breathing techniques have on oneself such as improving energy levels, decrease one’s heart rate, clean out the lungs, and reduce anxiety. I highly recommend to anyone who’s struggling with stress, or anxiety..Version: 5.3

Thank You!I always wanted to focus more on my breath and breathe more deeply while I work in the kitchen because breathing deeply makes me feel good. But I didn’t have the discipline. This amazing tool is exactly what I needed. I use it every day when I work in the kitchen, and it often inspires me to do yoga while I’m so focused on deep breathing. I also love the different interval options offered. I usually start with an easier interval until I get warmed up, then I start wanting to breathe deeper so I switch to a longer interval and I move my way up as I feel ready..Version: 5.4

Great app, awful tip jarUpdate: back to 5 stars after development response. Looking forward to the update! Original: Love iBreathe, but seeing a constant “Tip Jar” prompt after EVERY breathing session is a major turn off. I read the developer’s explanation in another review, and paid the tip to remove the “Tip Jar” prompt. I really really hope I never see the tip prompt ever again after breathing. Tip for the developer: maybe helpful if you explain IN APP that paying the tip once will make that “Tip Jar” prompt go away…current expectation seems that there is no way to remove it..Version: 6.5

Very helpful 👍I have problems sleeping And when everyone in my house falls asleep and I am not sleeping I start to freak out I mean freak out I get hot and start to assume the worst but once I get on this app I do my cycles it tells me to do and I feel so much better. When I do use the app I sleep better and am ready to get up and start the day I used to hat night time but now I am not having a panic attack before I head to bed I absolutely ❤️LOVE❤️ this app I totally would recommend this app for stress or fear or struggles this app has change my life for the better.Version: 5.2

Who said good things don’t come for free? This is an excellent, simple and easy to use app to help you improve your breathing techniques. For the developers: if there is a chance to improve the app, I would suggest including the option of a voice to indicate the step I’m on… I would pay for that additional feature just because it would eliminate my need to occasionally look at my phone if I lose track of what I’m supposed to be doing. Keep ip the great work and thanks for making this ad free while it’s still a free app!.Version: 5.4

Simple but Amazing!!I suffer from bouts of anxiety regularly and a helpful friend of mine suggested I download a meditation app. I found a couple but I didn’t like having to scroll through all the content in them (which were many!) to find the one that suited me. I was just looking for something more of straight forward. Finally, I stumbled upon iBreathe and love how simple it was to navigate it and found the breathing exercises helpful and best suited for me. I no longer have anxieties about having anxieties because now I can manage them. 😊.Version: 5.2

Ahhhhhhhhhh! This is one of only six apps on my minimalist home screen! I need little tune ups to ramp down my anxiety, and iBreathe really works for me. The other relaxation/meditation apps Ive tried have too many features, and it’s too easy for me to get lost in deciding what to do, and then relaxing just becomes another stressful thing. IBreathe is streamlined and effective. It’s amazing what just 1 minute and 35 seconds of seconds of 4/7/8 breathing can do. I’d heard of this technique before, but this app made it accessible to me. Thank you so much!.Version: 5.1

ReliableTried about half a dozen breathing apps before settling on iBreathe. Upgraded to no ads to support dev, but they weren’t that bothersome in the first place. Of all the apps I tried, this interface is the most straightforward. Creating custom intervals is easy and simple. Enough functionality theme, audio wise to do things your way without getting lost in the weeds. Areas for Improvement: please build a pause feature. When I receive a phone call / alarm goes off, the current session cancels. Would also like to save custom interval settings. Half second granularity in custom intervals would be nice as well..Version: 4.3

Simple, perfect breathing meditation appI wanted a simple breathing meditation timer with a bell, and the ability to customize the breathe in-hold-breathe out interval. This app provides exactly that in a clean and intuitive layout. Also... the app is free! I am so happy and grateful for finding this that I opted to pay the $0.99 even though the ads weren’t even a bother. I’m looking forward to using this several times a day. Thank you guys so much! :) Ps, I'd rather pay another $5 or $10 then see "tip jar" appear everyone I'm done meditating :(.Version: 6.3

Great alternative to many expensive paid versions.I was looking for an app that helps counter breathing because Calm just deleted that free feature. As someone with anxiety currently experiencing some stressful times, I am grateful this all exists and is free. There are a few different types of counted breathing available with noise cues telling you when to inhale and exhale. You can switch the noise cue from a voice to a bell. There’s also a make your own count breathing exercise so you can design your own..Version: 4.3

Get ready to hold your breath permanently with the Apple WatchI was happy to have an app that would also work on my Apple Watch so that I could get reminders and practice breathing throughout the day. My first use of the Apple Watch however left me with a surprise. “Inhale” — four seconds later”hold”— then silence. It should have given another prompt to exhale. I realize that as soon as the Apple Watch screen goes dark (as it does when you are closing your eyes and relaxing with your arm in your lap as opposed to keeping the arm in the air staring at your watch), the app goes silent; with no haptics either. Not good. This needs to be fixed..Version: 5.1

Great, simple appI just started using this app recently after hearing about similar apps from James Nestor who wrote the book Breath. I love that you can set custom intervals with .5 second timing and have found this a nice timeout to calm and focus my breathing and by extension my mind, at various times of day. It only takes me 3 minutes or so to get a total reboot to my system. I also like the vibration option for inhale and exhale for times when I need more focus on the timing of different styles of intervals..Version: 6.0.1

CustomizableI love it that this app lets me customize my breaths, with 4 separate settings: inhale, hold, exhale, hold/pause. (My previous app didn’t have that feature.). It’s easy to operate, changing the intervals. I also like being able to have some control of the sounds, like the choice of voice or bell. (It would be nice someday to be able to save different settings, like “4-0-4-0,” “5-2-6-2,” etc.) And it was well worth $0.99 to eliminate ads. Thank you, developers!.Version: 5.3

Good except for…I’ve been using this application for several years. It’s good except for two issues. 1) No multitasking. If you switch to another program, your breathing will stop in this one. 2) I paid for this program several years ago and now I’m seeing a tip jar when I’m done with a breathing session! What? Why? While I’m not opposed to tipping I don’t want to see that every time I do a breathing session! It would be more appropriate in in the settings area. It just seems really tacky, needy and it’s almost like an ad as far as I’m concerned..Version: 6.0.1

Makes breathing exercises extra relaxingScientific research supports the benefits of breathing exercises and this app makes it easy. It’s nice to just close my eyes and let my mind go blank while I do it, knowing the app will prompt me when to inhale and exhale. I work in a high trauma industry and I recommend this to everyone. Paid the $2 to remove ads just because I’m so grateful for the app (the ads really weren’t bothersome). Have been using this for several years..Version: 6.7

AverageThe pricing for app removal seems fair. I have frustration with many apps requiring pricey subscriptions. The design of the app looks good. I have to subtract two stars for not allowing more specific times on the custom. I had testing done by the doctor to find the best times but instead of being able to select - say 1.5 seconds, I can only select 1 second or 2 seconds. If they changed that in the future I would use this app but in the meantime there are two other apps I use that allow me to truly customize the times to get the best results..Version: 5.5

Good breathing exerciseThis is a great app for one-minute breathing exercise. However, it doesn't work with the Series 7 Apple watch. Even though it is advertised as "always on", that only means that you'll always be able to see something on the face. However, apps do time out after about 5-8 seconds. So, this app stops in the middle of a breath. Not cool. App developer needs to update it to keep the watch completely alive while the app is going thru the in-out. Otherwise, with the iPhone, it's very good..Version: 5.4

Great and easy to useGreat app for meditation and breathing exercises! Very simple and distraction free design. Also works well on the Apple Watch. The experience would be made even better if the vibration mode under the interval change signal setting had soft or strong setting like the haptic feedback setting. The vibration feature is very helpful for breath work but the default vibration seems a bit strong and is a bit distracting when using it on the Apple Watch. Apart from that, the app is highly recommended..Version: 6.8

Star AdjustmentUpdate: I received a satisfactory explanation from the developer & change my star rating back to five. I think a new watch may be in my future. I’ve given this app five stars in the past; however, I’ve changed it to three stars. Apparently, it no longer works with my Apple Watch. I went to use it on the watch & discovered it was gone. As far as I can tell, there is no longer a way to install it again..Version: 6.2

Best app for breathingIt is really best app I’ve tried for my morning practice + I can put my meditation music from my IPhone library and then start this app and it’s work in the “top” of my background music. It is awesome. + It is gives you to manage your personal breathing intervals - not only default settings. It is also great option. I would like to see it better: - it is out of its mode as soon as I leave up without saving data to health app. So if my regular routing 30 minutes but I had to finish it earlier or by accident touch my phone and close app after I breath 28 minutes - data not saved and I have to start all 30 minutes again. - It would be nice also if I could put it on pause for up to 5 minutes and leave app and then come back and continue my breathing work out from the same place I left app..Version: 4.1

So simple and customizableSo far I’m loving the functions of the app. Its bare one so if you are looking for achievements or levels, this app isn’t for you (Although I would secretly love useless achievements added one day). It has custom and preset intervals which is exactly what I need to improve my box breathing. The only 2 wishes I had are; 1) that the app doesn’t have meditating music or even white noise. 2) The app doesn’t have an Apple Watch integration. It would be nice to be able to track my heart rate while meditating and the Apple Watch integration could help with that..Version: 4.2

Love it - but a questionFirst, I looove this app. I’m working on deep breathing to help deal with asthma and possible COPD. A nightly routine with this app is certainly helping me sleep better. A lot better. My question is, with the customized routine I’ve set up, I get a vibration that signals each inhale and each exhale. Sometimes there are very fast “ticks” between the vibration signals, and sometimes not. I really like the “ticks” but can’t figure out why it’s not consistent from one session to the next..Version: 6.0.1

It actually works!!!I have medicine controlled high blood pressure and it tends to be higher than normal in the mornings before I take my pill. I use my blood pressure cuff to see where I am and then I use this app through 1 interval and check my BP again. It is ALWAYS significantly lower the 2nd and 3rd time. I also work with Middle School kids and when they are upset, I use this to help them calm down. It works every time! I highly recommend this app!!.Version: 5.5

Love the flexibilityI too just finished James Nestor's book and am sold on slow breathing. This app is amazing- I love how customizable it is but my most favorite feature is the touch guide. I can be watching a movie with people or in any quiet few minutes and do the breathing exercises and don't have to be looking at my phone or listening to a voice. So subtle- which makes doing the breathing much more possible throughout the day. Thank you!.Version: 5.2

Just breatheSometimes you just need a reminder to take a few deep breaths. This app does just that. It keeps me on track and reminds me to just breath and it will be ok..Version: 6.8

Great app to develop a practiceReally enjoy the simplicity and usefulness of the app. I’m very glad there’s no subscriptions..Version: 6.5

I wish Apple Watch App had a Dark Mode.It would be nice if there was a darker UI on Apple Watch, it’s such a bright blue light if you’re trying to do some phone-free breathing in bed. At least let it match the dark theme on the iPhone app. It’s not a bad app for customizing breathing exercises, which I am grateful for. But unfortunately since I primarily use it on the Apple Watch it’s not much use to me. I regret paying to unlock ads..Version: 6.7

SimpleIt works.Version: 6.7

Great appReally helps me to relax. Love that I can change the settings. I’m starting slow and working up to longer times..Version: 6.3

NagwareNice intro price but I am reminded after every session that I have the opportunity to give a tip..Version: 6.3

PerfectThis app has all you need to help in breathing exercises. It’s personally helping me relaxing before bed. It has a very fair price too..Version: 6.3

ThanksExactly what I’ve been looking for. Simple and clear. Of course the ads are super annoying but I don’t regret buying the no-ad version. It’s worth it..Version: 6.0.1

Simple but very effective!Everything you could want from a breathing app. Customizable intervals, easy to use interface and simple non distracting graphics. Well worth the one time fee to remove ads, perfect for anyone looking to meditate more often!.Version: 6.0.1

PerfectPerfect, right to the point!! Definitely pay the few bucks to remove the ads. It’s way better.Version: 5.5

SimpleI appreciate how clear and simple this app and reminder is..Version: 5.5

Simple, elegantAnd very effective! Great app, truly.Version: 5.5

Breathing techniques. - missing WHMGreat but missing ability to do Wim Hof type breathing.Version: 5.5

Simple and exactly what I neededA visual guide for calm breathing, customizable with vibration, tone, or voice. As well as breathing intervals. At the time of this review, more content was announced to come out in the fall, and I am happy to wait because the app is already incredible..Version: 5.5

Yes, download this app!The app is simple, straightforward and easy to use. Nicely designed. Yes there were ads but they weren’t the kind that would interfere too much with the app. I believe you could pay to remove the adds..Version: 5.4

Love It!This is the best breathing timer I’ve found. If you want minimal, simple guidance to your mindfulness practice, this is the app for you. No distracting script playing in your ears, just be with your breath..Version: 5.4

Amazing 10/10This app does wonders for me! Yes it’s quite a simple app but when you just follow the steps, it helps a lot! I was really stressed this morning, but I used this and it relaxed me! This app is amazing, and I really love it. I will use this app for a long time and help my stress! Thank you for making this app it helps a lot❤️.Version: 5.4

Excellent 4 7 8Use it for daily 4 7 8 breathing. Can adjust seconds and reputation. I’m doing it daily for relaxing and heart health.Version: 5.4

Simple but usefulFair price to remove ads..Version: 5.3

Simple and effective - gem in the App Store! This app is a simple, uncluttered breathing guidance perfect for when you need a moment to pause. Beautifully made Watch app as well. Bravo to the team and such a gem of an app! A couple wishes: - more customizable breathing options: eg. Make my own breathing exercise and save it with its own name. - make watch app less dependent on iPhone - able to pick breathing pattern, etc..Version: 5.3

Simple perfectionI was looking for a simple timer to guide me with the breath exercises my trainer wants me to do. This does the job. I like that there are some common breathes and a customize option. I appreciate the simplicity and lack off monthly subscription. Coach loves it too and shared with all his clients..Version: 5.3

Simple and just what I needI just want to breathe at a set cadence and this helps me do it..Version: 5.3

Love it!I really love this app! It’s better than every other breathing apps on the App Store. I love the minimal UI and UX of the app but I noticed the back button is displayed as “b…k” instead of “back” even though there’s plenty of space on the screen to display the full word..Version: 5.3

I like itGreat app. Gets the job done. I wish there were: - options to switch the mode inside the breathe tab - more options for sounds - ticks for seconds. And sounds for enhale and exhale - more options for voices - ability to use app when the screen is locked Purchased premium. Totally worth it. Buy the dev a coffee! They deserve it!.Version: 5.3

Simple and Comprehensive. Free and all that you need.My conclusion is based on trying several more elaborate and expensive options on offer. Highly recommended!.Version: 5.3

Not too badHonestly I like the adds more than the app🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.Version: 5.3

Great for distress toleranceUseful for the TIPP skill of dialectical behaviour therapy. You can set intervals of the breaths to use it for paced or square breathing. Very calming when feeling anxious, angry, or any other intense emotion..Version: 5.3

For my mental health, thank youI already knew how the process of breathing was relieving my anxiety through breathing properly, I use fish aquarium videos to calm me down and focus on my breathing with Christ and Mary but this app with the female voice helping me time it all is a gift for my mental health. The other apps I downloaded all are animations to tell you to breathe in or out while this one has a voice or vibration which is definitely why I am buying the pro edition of this app. Thank you for this technology..Version: 5.3

Simple and gets the job doneReally appreciate how intuitive this app is. It does not need to be complicated to work!..Version: 5.2

Simple and effectiveThis is exactly what I wanted. No frills. Just breathing. Easy for kids or adults..Version: 5.2

Ibreath reviewSimple and really easy to use app. Exactly what i wanted from the app.Version: 5.2

Easy to use and very helpfulVery simple to use. The guided breathing exercises are fantastic..Version: 5.2

Great appI have really bad asthma and I do my breathing with this app and it really helps me to be able to breathe better and to come down..Version: 5.2

Love this appReading James Nestor’s book BREATH and this is what I needed it’s perfect to master breathing.Version: 5.1

Great breathing appThis app is nothing special, but offers a great external focus to calm your breathing. Several options are available for predetermined rhythm or to make a custom rhythm that works for you. If your looking for a simple app to guide your breath I recommend..Version: 5.1

Simple and effectiveGreat for breath work practice! Simple timers with audio cues for a few well-known methods plus the option to make a custom interval. Would be great to be able to save multiple custom options but it’s so quick to set up, it’s not a big deal. Enjoying the app!.Version: 5.1

PerfectExactly what it is advertised as, the graphics help a lot.Version: 5.1

Well designedNice clean practical design.Version: 5.1

Love thisWorking from home has been a bit stressful. This app is beautiful and reasonably priced. I use it every day, four sometimes five times a day. I’m so glad I download it. It works when my mind starts to wander, or when I start to get a little overwhelmed with my work to-do list. Using it consistently helps so much..Version: 5.1

Simple and to the point! With the calm app asking me to pay to have an app tell me to breathe, and limiting the free option to something I don’t like, I looked into an alternative and found this! It’s exactly what I was looking for!.Version: 5.1

Excellent appSimple to set up with a nice visual to follow if you have your sound down..Version: 4.3

Great app but...Saving multiple custom breathing exercises would be even better!.Version: 5.0

Excellent Breathing AppVery well thought out, simple to use app. Allows for customization in breathing routines. Haptic Touch menu with Home Screen icon makes accessing each routine very quick. Look forward to the watch app!.Version: 4.3

Helping for calming my anxietyI like the setting possibilities to modify the length of the breathing cycles. Easy to Use and syncing with app health. Love it.Version: 4.3

Simple. Customizable. Perfect.Exceptionally groovy! Thanks..Version: 4.2

Decent, could use more optionsFairly straightforward and easy to use, but it could do with more flexibility in settings. I personally would prefer a timer for every breathing stage, not just the Hold Breath, and I’d like that timer to be adjustable to count up or count down..Version: 4.2

GoodGood app... needs a watch complication to be great.Version: 4.2

Almost greatLocking your phone stops the app. If you fix this it would deserve a five star. Would buy otherwise..Version: 4.1
