It’s Konami’s Picross...for free!Downloading this game is a no-brainer. It’s basically Nintendo’s Picross, but from Konami with Konami owned characters. Part of me wonders if the point of this is to keep up the copyright on some of these characters or something. Regardless, this is a real, fun, full game with hours of gameplay to enjoy. Initially I assumed when you ran out of “hints” that it would try to sell you more, but it doesn’t. If you run out, it recharges one after 10 minutes, infinite times. If you like logical puzzles, or picross specifically, it’s absolutely worth grabbing this. It’s worth money, and is a real, full game...they’re just giving it away for free, so get it! Update: I just finished the game after playing it off and on for three years! I don’t regret my time spent with it. The only real catch I know of is I’m not sure how well this works on an iPhone just because you might have to zoom around, I played it entirely on an iPad where you can easily see the entire board at once. Well, that, and as far as I know there’s no way to transfer your save game from one device to another, which is a shame. But other than that, it’s a fun type of gameplay, and well-made, and totally free..Wolfpup3Version: 1.2.0

Incredibly fun, but with one problemI’ve been having a great time playing this game for hours and hours and have never really gotten bored with it. If I have about 5 minutes, I’ve usually been sitting down and completing a puzzle. However, my one problem, and it’s one that’s particularly popped up now that I’m 96% complete with the game, is the recharge time for boss puzzles. It’s now at the point where the only puzzles left to complete are boss puzzles and having to wait 3 hours each time is pretty annoying. Maybe instead either the timer could be dropped to 2 hours or a normal square could become a boss puzzle square after you complete all of the available normal puzzles for it. Either way, the game has still been a blast and it’s more of a minor gripe than a major design issue, but still probably worth considering updating..Really FIFAVersion: 1.2.4

Love the puzzles; need notifications, better controlsAs a Picross fan, I love flying through these puzzles. I enjoy the random selection of the puzzle as well, wondering what category I will get next. The old songs are awesome, especially when I hear Contra’s stage 1 or Bloody Tears. It would be a five star game if it was capable of notifying me that a new boss puzzle attempt was ready. I don’t want to have to set a timer, especially if I can’t get to solving it right away. Controls could be improved as well. I like the controls from some of the other Picross games out there on mobile devices that allow me to drag the cursor around from touching anywhere on the screen and tapping to swap between blank, X, or filled in. Tap and drag can be used to fill in multiple blocks or Xs as well. Cursor controls don’t make sense on a mobile device and direct taps on the puzzles get difficult on large puzzles. Zooming is inconvenient because it is important to be able to see the entire puzzle. With a couple of tweaks, this will be a five star game. Solid but flawedTo preface, I am greatly enjoying this game so far and would happily recommend it to anyone with a tolerance for control frustration. Unfortunately, the controls for larger puzzles are simultaneously too sensitive and not sensitive enough. I have a difficult time making the game recognize when I am selecting a specific square at times, particularly when I'm dragging to fill a line. Aggravating this is that, as far as I can tell, there's no blank option for undoing mistakes; if you mark a square, you can only give it the opposing mark, not make it blank again. I've had to restart puzzles due to this combination of issues, and it drags down genuinely good picross. I have not used the hint system myself, so I can't comment on the error with the ads I've seen mentioned..EffYewAppleVersion: 1.0.0

Fantastic, and totally out of left fieldWhen I searched for Konami on the App Store, I was naturally expecting to find all of my favorite classics turned into freemium gacha trash. And make no mistake, there is some of that as well. But this game is not that in any way, shape, or form. Yes, you did read this game's App Store page correctly. This is a Konami Picross game, and it is absolutely free, with no in-app purchases. Assuming there isn't any overlap in the puzzle list, there are at least 250 or 300 puzzles in this thing. There IS a three-hour timer for “boss” (relatively hard or large) puzzles, and a few other mechanics make me think that the game was at least built with freemium in mind, but regardless of whatever happened during its development, the game is currently one hundred percent free. As far as gameplay goes...I mean, it's Picross. There isn't much else to say in that regard. There MIGHT be an overabundance of easy 10x10 puzzles, but I'm not that far in yet and it looks like the game ratchets up the difficulty as you complete more puzzles, so take that with a grain of salt. The interface is kind of lacking; there's no way to quick-switch between the pen/crossout/eraser, it feels juuuuust a bit sluggish sometimes, and marking in lines overwrites any filled or Xed squares in the line, so be careful that you don't accidentally mess up your board. Ultimately, though, that's all QoL stuff. If you wanna play some free Picross, download this game. Do it quickly, though. This IS a Konami game, so it's still possible that they'll ruin it in an update or something..Scratch-OVersion: 1.1.0

Issue with crossed-out numbersAs you work on a row or column, entries in the list of digits to the side/top get crossed out as the game detects that you've finished a particular block of numbers. Unfortunately, there seems to be an error in the algorithm so that incorrect information is given rarely on incomplete lines. For instance, the game may cross out a "2" indicating that the block of two on the line you're working on is finished and is supposed to be part of a block of 2. It can happen that it is actually supposed to be part of a larger block, or a different block than is indicated. I have concrete evidence of this happening precisely twice in two puzzles (with 40% of puzzles completed), but I suspect that it happens with a higher frequency (since restarts due to mistake are much higher in this game compared to other Picross games I've played). In short, be careful - you cannot trust the clues given by the game about your progress..BazoobazooVersion: 1.0.1

Ok wait actuallyI wrote a review before and that one mentioned the wait for boss puzzles being annoying, especially once you've finished the normal puzzles (its been a month and im STILL trying to finish the boss puzzles). well i just realized something, which is that when you place X's on a square, it really should prevent the square from being filled in. for example, on a 15x15 grid, a column is listed as 3 3 3 3. thats 3 filled, 1 space, repeating til that final 3. if you place the X's where they belong, and draw a line to fill the squares, the squares filled should ONLY be the 3 3 3 3, since the others were X'd out. however if you do that in THIS app, it just makes a line of 15 filled squares. most other picross games/apps have this feature, at least the good ones do. the more i play this app the worse i feel about it, and thats only being dragged out by the way the boss puzzles work..Deanus beanusVersion: 1.3.0

Grrrreeeaat!This is one of the best nonogram games I’ve played, especially for free. With around 535 puzzles total of various sizes split across ten unique themes based off of Konami’s ips, you will never know what the end result will be! After the first ~400 or so(or the first 100%) you unlock the Expert Mode and Expert Mode exclusive puzzles that have to be solved without using the X tool, for a total of 200% completion being possible! The only possible negative is that to try a puzzle for the first time, you have to get one randomly chosen, which is actually something I like and you can choose to redo specific puzzle to try to get faster times. I managed to get 00:02 on the Heart in the Castlevania Theme!.DeathsjsvfVersion: 1.3.2

Happy to have found this game!I do agree with other complaints about the timer on boss puzzles. I like the suggestion of the timer getting shorter as you complete more and more of the non-boss puzzles. Otherwise, I am very pleased with the game. The puzzles are good and the nostalgic aesthetic is spot on. I appreciate the alternate control scheme (since I have shaky hands) and the option to hide the timer (although I would really like to be able to hide the finish times in the Collection too). The interface is also better than I thought possible for a nonogram game on a mobile phone (though I’ll always prefer a traditional handheld controller). I’m honestly confused. This game was free, has no IAPs, and I still haven’t found any ads. I love it, though. (update - Ads have recently been, ahem, added. Kind of ugly but not especially annoying.) If you ever added additional puzzle packs as IAPs I would definitely look into buying one. Best free game ever!I love this game! This is the only one I have found that lets you work the puzzle without giving you a limited amount of errors, and making you start all over. I like the ability to work out the whole puzzle on my own. Some of the puzzles you can just breeze through, and some are killer hard. And I love that once you’ve completed all puzzles, there is an expert mode, or you can work the regular puzzles again. And if you just cannot solve it, you can request a hint every ten minutes. Just what I was looking forI’ve loved picross for years, and this is simply a wonderful presentation of my favorite puzzle game. The music is SO GOOD, and the controls work well for me. I like that you can toggle auto-completing X boxes, though I like the autocomplete off for smaller puzzles and on for larger ones. Maybe a toggle for each size would be good? I’ve only done up to the 10x10 puzzles, which is kind of my sweet spot for these. My biggest criticism so far is that the 10x10 puzzles don’t take up enough of the screen, and it would be nice for them to be bigger by default. Using an iPhone 6 over here, and the puzzle/its numbers don’t stretch t the edges of the screen. Hopefully this can be tweaked in the future. Thanks for making such a stellar picross game! Easily one of the best free gamesI got super excited because I was 99.6% when I got home. Did the last two puzzles and was greeted with a lovely congratulations screen! But what’s this? Now I can replay everything to beat my time or there’s an expert mode now too? I thought I was done and could move on with my life, but it doesn’t seem like that’s in the cards. Great Nonogram GameI’m a big fan of nonogram/picross type games and this one is no exception. The puzzles and art are nice and it controls fine. The only real problems I have are mostly with me, those being there’s no way to choose which theme or size of puzzle you’re doing and I’ve finished all basic puzzles so all I have left to do are the boss ones which take three hours to refresh. Nostalgic Picross with annoyancesThe music, themes, and end results are all handled very well with a ton of content from games of the pixel area. Unfortunately two major problems exist: 1. Every 15x15 board is shrunk and off-center to account for 6 or 7 number hints when most boards don’t have that many making it borderline too small even on an iPhone X. Every board should be sized according to an axis’ highest number of hints. There is a zoom function but without the ability to scroll it’s very unintuitive ensuring I never used it. Update: I was mistaken there is now a scroll feature. 2. Once you finish regular and mid-boss puzzles you’re stuck waiting every 3 hours for a boss puzzle. With ~75% completion I can’t play anymore until the timer is done. They really should’ve just started letting boss puzzles be available when you complete everything else. High chance this’ll be uninstalled before I can even complete it because of the pointless waiting mechanic..JLow1864Version: 1.0.7

The best picross gameHave been playing this since release. I went through the puzzles in the 5x5 and 10x10 sets fairly easily. When going into the 15x15 this is where I have usually stopped with other games. Not with this. There are so many puzzles to do it makes no sense. Almost like they don’t make games anymore and don’t care (Sigh). I’ve forced myself to learn how to solve these harder puzzles. For a while I thought some boards were impossible without the use of hints but after staring and making my placements with more cross checking I’ve become a better picross player. This is the game I have on phone and tablet and love playing through them again and again. Also. I feel I have played this a lot (since release) and have only made it 49.6%. Such an unbelievably free good nostalgia Nonogram gameI don't know how this is free, given how many cool puzzles are packed into it! I solved all the puzzles in both modes (the expert mode is killer) but keep coming back just to replay them. Almost PerfectThis is an excellent Nonograms game; the puzzles range from very easy to exceptionally hard, with a good difficulty curve that makes me feel like I learned a lot about how to solve these kinds of puzzles. The one annoying thing is that the big multi-part puzzles are time gated. Could have been great.Music is great. Aesthetics are great. Ads are fine, although I wish I could pay to turn them off. But why is the puzzle so tiny?! There’s so much unused space around the puzzle, which is shrunken into the lower right. No idea what they were thinking. 200%I came, I saw numbers, I conquered nostalgia! This game took me months to complete, but it was worth it. Where I once stood at the edge of an infinite void, gazing morosely at the sheer absurdity of reality, I now do the exact same thing, but now there are columns and rows of numbers burned into my eyeballs! Great truly free gameControls work very well and the puzzles are all logical with actual solutions without having to make guesses. Downsides are it is limited to a max 15x15 puzzle and once you’ve completed the non Boss puzzles you have a 3 hour timer before you can even attempt a new unsolved puzzle. GoodGood picross game. I beat all the basic levels and all the expert levels without guessing, which is a far sight better than most of the disposable picross games in iOS. No hints needed either. There are two main downers: 1- The forced timer between boss missions. 99% of the time it took to beat this game was just running out the timer. 2- The articficial difficulty of expert mode. It would have been much better to have more new, harder puzzles rather than recap the same levels without the x. The good news is when you get to expert there is no timer any more. Fun, until you run out of non-boss puzzlesI played through the game in about two weeks, doing 4-5 boss puzzles a day depending on when I check the app and how much I sleep as they unlock one four hours after you complete the previous one. Its really free!This is a great Picross game with a lot of history from Konami catalog game. I’m up to 64% and so far it’s been great. There are some adds but only when you return to the main menu. But not annoying! I was also expecting some sort of fee for more hints but it wasn’t the case. You start off with 10 free hints then after you get one every 10minutes. Worth a lookIf you like Picross, there's no reason not to give this a shot - it's free. connxz is a shill and it's not as great as Jupiter's games (even the Nintendo Power games which had video game themed stages had more variety). The touch controls are something you fight with, but are serviceable - no time penalty for mistakes, undo and auto filling Xs (whether you're right or wrong). Was my favorite app until last updateThis was easily a 5 star app until the last update. Unfortunately, ever since that update, the game will not run if Apple’s Music app is also running. The last update also introduced ads. This game has been ad free for a few years without charging a cent, so I’m not against them adding in ads, especially since the ads are only for Konami’s other games and they are not visible when actually solving a puzzle. SadnessI loved playing the game and I enjoy everything about it. But now I’ve finished all of the normal puzzles and I have to wait 3 hours to play each individual puzzle now, basically making the game unplayable which is sad because I’ve already put a lot of time into it. I wouldn’t have a problem if you could pay to remove the timer, but sadly it’s not that way. I hope they fix this because I thought I had found the best picross game. Edit: expert mode fixes this which is nice but you have to fully beat the game to unlock that.RatbreadVersion: 1.1.5
