ProBikeGarage: Bicycle tracker App Comments & Reviews

ProBikeGarage: Bicycle tracker Positive Reviews

Better than ever with recent upgradesI love this app! I’ve been using it for years and it keeps getting better and more stable. I especially like the new and improved interface. I use this app to track all of my bikes on both indoor and outdoor rides. It takes a little thought during set up in ProBikeGarage mainly due to limitations in Strava. For example, when riding indoors on a trainer, I’m not using brakes so don’t want to count indoor rides against my brakes’ maintenance intervals. To get around this I created “BIKE1” and “BIKE1+Wahoo Trainer” in Strava and in ProBikeGarage. And in ProBikeGarage I didn’t “install” the brake components on the BIKE1+Wahoo Trainer. Now when I ride indoors, I make sure to edit my Strava ride event post ride to say I used BIKE1+Wahoo Trainer and then when I sync, ProBikeGarage takes care of the rest. It keeps me on track with everything. I have even used it for tracking when to charge my Di2 batteries and it’s pretty much spot on with notifications from my Garmin head unit. Keep up the great work!.Version: 2.4.1

Fails to pull in Strava bike componentsReally great features, but I thought this would be a nice, easy way to get a handle on all the parts on all my bikes. However, it only pulls in bikes and associated rides, it does not pull in the parts I’ve already built onto all my bikes in Strava. This means I have to spend hours duplicating work in this app if I want to track part maintenance. A lot of common parts are not listed in the apps. For instance, I can find E-Thirteen and some DT-Swiss wheelsets, but it doesn’t have my SRAM Roam wheels. The components appear to be user generated, which is actually nice because I can can track individual pieces of gear that I’ve moved from bike to bike. I guess I’ll get to work transferring stuff over manually since this app appears to have a a lot better handle on maintenance. Good thing I’m in quarantine for now....Version: 1.17.0

If you have more than one bike, get thisProBikeGarage is a fantastic bit of software. It takes usage data you’re already gathering via Strava (route it through a free account if you don’t) to help you stay ahead of maintenance tasks on your bikes. Don’t forget to lube your chain or top up sealant. It’s useful for maintenance and usage tracking (how long did those tires last?). But it really changes the game if you work on your own bikes and change/upgrade components. Then you know the history on each part on a bike or the shelf. It’s really well thought out to automate base data by importing from existing data on Strava. But its internal UX is also very effective for adding components, setting reminders, tracking service etc. The free version is really very robust and frankly enough. If I have any complaint at all it’s the boundary to the paid service. I think it’s too big a jump (free to subscription paid) for the additional features. I’d actually be happy to pay something because it is truly useful but can’t justify the relatively big bump on ANOTHER subscription. (This is more a suggestion to the dev than a complaint).Version: 2.13.1

Exactly what I neededI like riding a bike. Over the last 4 years I’ve ridden/commuted to/from work 6k-8k-11k-11k kilometers annually. While not record braking volume the kilometers add up fast and failing to do maintenance in time is costly. I’ve kept track of components on my Strava account but Strava doesn’t send reminders. This app syncs with my Strava account, allows me to add any component I want, define the start date, retire a component and above all schedule maintenance intervals and most importantly sends me reminders. For the $2.99 it cost it saves me €€€ if not €€€€! Perfect..Version: 1.9

An essential part of my lifeI test bike stuff for a number of different companies and this app helps me keep track the distance / hours / watts / etc that I put into everything so that when a part inevitably fails I’m able to give that info to the manufacturer. Being able to easily reference whenever someone asks me “how many miles you got on…?” is so satisfying..Version: 2.15.1

Easy maintenance trackingThis is an extremely useful tool to track maintenance. I’m an avid cyclist & it would be tough to keep up on mileage & time based maintenance schedules across several bikes without this app. I haven’t had issues with Strava syncing. My only note is to add Rim as a component type for those of us who build our own wheels (or break rims)..Version: 2.1.0

ObsessedThis app is well built and the latest update has really sent it above and beyond! Love this thing makes tracking maintenance easy. I really only use it to track a few things on my bike mostly suspension and drive train but it’s literally amazing. Thank you so much for making this app.Version: 2.3.0

Essential bike maintenance appTerrific app paired w Strava. Makes it very easy to track maintenance, time, and mileage for all my bikes and components. Especially helpful for keeping an easy chain waxing schedule w my 3 chains in rotation. Updated very frequently with new and thoughtful features. 5 STARS!.Version: 2.10.0

Didn’t workTried about 5 times but the sync to Strava didn’t work (time-out) and it appears I can’t progress from the sync screen. Needs a trial version for free. UPDATE: I was contacted by the developer. The Strava sync is working! The app is a little rough but useful...so far. I set up some gear and will monitor. I love the idea of what it promises. We’ll see if it delivers. I changed from 1->4 stars..Version: 1.9

Fantastic appThis is the best bike component tracking app out there. It works really well for keeping track of chains and wax intervals. Does well with tracking wheels, tires, cassettes and other items that move between bikes and add and remove from the same bike.Version: 1.19.4

Need family planThe app works well for a single rider. I maintain the bikes in our family of 5 and can’t sync the app with my wife and kid’s accounts. A possible workaround would be to allow the user to create manual bikes and update their mileage directly with in the app. I suppose I could create the bikes on my Strava account but would still need a method of updating the mileage directly in the app..Version: 1.19.0

Very UsefulIt takes some time to set everything up if you want to track every component with specific service intervals, but once it’s set up it’s great! It’s so nice knowing when I need to service my suspension/brakes/tire sealant..Version: 2.3.1

Love the app, now even better! Was pleasantly surprised to see quite the big update. A really great app that has been super helpful for tracking wear and tear. Use it to keep track of my drivetrain wear. Thanks!!.Version: 2.2.5

Pretty good, some refining needed to be greatOne of the more annoying things is having to re-authorize Strava about once a week so that it keeps things up to date. Other than that a few things are clunky but does what I need it to!.Version: 1.19.0

Dark mode hides text and imagesI LOVE the app. I’ve been wanting something like this for a long time. I will say that it does not seem to be configured for dark mode..Version: 1.10

Love it!Just tried the 2.0 update, the UI is much better. Can’t wait to use this more..Version: 2.0.0

A good first start...The app is a good first effort. But needs more refinement. Needed fields include: tire pressure, sealant component option, bike fit specs and a general notes section not tired to component. Also in the rides section for each bike, all bike types and all associated rides appear. Not helpful. Only the rides associated with that bike need displayed..Version: 1.19.0

Bikes always readyAmazing tool - allows me to ensure my bike collection stays in shape with proactive maintenance!.Version: 2.14.2

FantasticIf you're into bike maintenance, this app is a must!.Version: 2.5.0

Great way to track suspension and sealant maintenanceIf you use strava to track your rides, this app is excellent. You can set mileage, ride time, or calendar time for maintenance items. Great for keeping up with sealant (every 6 months) as well as mtb suspension (50/200 hours ride time). Easy set up for your bike with a nice component database. Highly recommend this!.Version: 2.5.1

No strava connectionCan't connect to strava.Version: 1.19.4

Great appThe app is excellent for keeping track of what is coming up and needs to get done on all the different bikes. I wish it worked off Garmin or something other than Strava. Otherwise excellent.Version: 2.15.1

Worth itI’ve used this app for a few years and the tracking is very convenient. The Strava syncing streamlines the process and saves lots of time..Version: 2.13.2

Missing bikes and componentsLooks like it has potential it it’s missing bikes and components. Bought a new Canyon Aeroad CF SLX8 Speed. Bike doesn’t exist. I try to add components manually half the components are missing..Version: 2.15.1

Good. But needs UX love.It does the job and helps me keep my bike well maintained. UX is not great though. I forget how to add a service every time and need to click around a lot to figure it out..Version: 1.19.0

Very very goodEasy to keep track of everything. On trainer or outside, it keep track automatically of everything. Hopefully they will update the app soon..Version: 1.19.0

Fantastic app for tracking mileage/hours based maintenanceThanks to its integration with Strava, this app makes it easy to keep tabs on maintenance and component wear. It’s extensive database of parts also makes it simple to add parts so you can go to the level of the specific model or use something more generic (e.g. cassette) to keep tabs on any component you wish to track. My favourite feature is that you can add a component at any time and backdate it to the day you installed it and the mileage/hours will be calculated based on your Strava data..Version: 1.12
