Star Trek Fleet Command Positive Reviews
In for the long haulHe game is barely six months old, so it’s still buggy as hell, and at times, inconveniently so. However, I expect this of a game so new. If this was a year from now, I’d say delete it, but I’m willing to wait out the bugs.
To me, the biggest issue is game balance. One feature is to complete missions. These missions require various objectives to be completed, one of which is ship-ship battle. The poor game balance comes into play, most noticeably, in this section. For example, you ship may have 1500 power, so you expect the objective to have a similar power level. However, it turns out the objective requires a ship of 5000 power to complete. (Numbers are arbitrary) The player must, essentially, be Lv. 10 to face Lv. 5 enemies.
Obviously, a case could be made that you can upgrade your ship to the proper level to begin with. But, there’s no reference point for what are expected capabilities of the players at given levels. I’m 5 levels ahead of some people who have ships half he strength of mine. And then I find players who are only 1 or 2 levels ahead of mine that are 3x more powerful. This is too great of a range to know where I’m at, or what to do.
At the end of the day, it’s a new game, and things will take time to fix. There’s a vast majority of game elements, and the game can be, for all intents and purposes, played as long as a player would like. My 4-star rating is what I expect the game to be, I’m willing to deal with the bugs, and game balance until that day comes up. I encourage others to do the same..Wooco TotorVersion: 7.3
Great Strategy GameI’m comparing the game to other strategy games like it, so the 5 stars is relative. There are things I don’t like about it, but comparatively speaking, it’s the best mobile strategy game I’ve ever played. (I’ve spent a lot of time playing Game of War: Fire Age and West Game as well as STFC.)
First, I love Star Trek, so I’m biased right out the gate. Other things I like that separate it from other games: they give enough free peace shields per day if you do all your daily tasks to stay shielded 24/7. There are limits, especially for low level players, on who can attack you. Until you get higher level, only players within 2 levels of you can attack you. You NEVER run out of stuff to do. In fact, the more you play, it can get downright overwhelming how much there is to keep you busy.
That being said, there are downsides. Like other strategy games, it’s impossible to be a top player without spending. There are a lot of f2p players who enjoy the game a lot, and you can do everything, but it just takes A LOT longer. I’m one of those who spends a little, and I’m in the mid-range as far as power. Of course, there are whales who spend thousands who you’ll never be able to compete with. However, my server, and I believe most if not all servers, have player-organized/enforced Rules of Engagement that limit bullying and sheer domination by p2p players..EmersonTheTaurusVersion: M47.2.2
Potential but needs huge attentionThis games has great potential but need serious fixes. For what is called a mobile game it will not work at all on any of my cellular devices. In order to play I need a WiFi connection. I can use a 2nd cellular device as a hotspot and it works but regardless of signal strength I can’t connect via cellular. game also needs some wag to share resources with friends aside from alliance donations. The missions need to be configured more for better flow. It is very common to get missions that you can’t do for weeks or even months even if you spent $1000. Many times there are glitches or login issues. Nothing like getting a notification you are getting attacked but then the login won’t authenticate or the game doesn’t like your internet connection and by the time you get logged in your base have been wiped out and all resources are gone because it took 3 hours to log in. There needs to be better instructions for missions. An example for me was when at level 22 I was given a mission to get something that you get in an I game store. All you are told is get 15 uncommon plutonium. But what you have to search out is that the item you need to buy does not even show up in the store until level 24 and unless you are a cash player the time required to go up those 2 levels is around a month so in the mean time your mission log has a worthless mission listed and that is after you find out why you can’t find the required material.
So great potential but many issues need fixing !.SuiteIceVersion: 8.0.3
Great Game, good peopleI’m a mini fan of Star Trek, not a huge one. But I really love this game. Leveling isn’t hard if you grind it out.. or if you want to pay.. the power is balanced. There are some great people and some really interesting things about the game. Like the players have created their own ROE.. that all most all players follow. Which is pretty amazing most games it’s chaos. I think I’m going to stay in this game for a while. I have already met some players who have been at this for years, and always willing to help. Yes, I have seen the bad reviews of bugs and yes, you do have a lot of repetitive missions that you are just traveling all over.. but what MMORPG doesn’t have this??? I haven’t hit a high enough level yet to partake in more things but when I do I will update. Yes, traveling does take real time but usually no more than 5 mins or a little more. But you can scope out other galaxies for mining or moving, watch the videos, read up and chat with people on best ways to level and play. So there is a lot to do in here if you actually want to experience the game. If you want instant gratification there are other games out there for you..Andrearob868Version: M82
Decent game ruined by developer’s optimization for making you payI downloaded this game hoping for a nice mobile version of Stellaris in the Star Trek universe and it is a decent version of that, I guess. You get to build and level up a star base and manage and level up your ships and crew. The MMO aspect isn’t terrible, although you seem to get ganked a lot if you leave your ship outside of your station when you’re not logged in.
The problem is that playing it is like watching the home shopping network because you can’t do anything without having to click through a way to pay more money to reduce the pain of progression. Every resource either costs money or is in a random loot box so there is no strategy for resource management other than just keep clicking (unless you want to pay to click less). All the new content is behind battle passes and loot boxes so all you can do to meet your goals is just keep paying.
When I added up all the cost in micro transactions to make this more like a decent PC game, I’d have to pay many multiple times what I’d pay for Stellaris on PC in order to make this game enjoyable. I get that the devs need to make money but I’d much prefer a monthly subscription to a decent game over the constant begging and slot machine mechanics that mobile gaming has become. If I wanted to hang out in a casino I’d go to Vegas..CrankyWookieVersion: M55
If you want to play for free, you will be punished for itThis game is well designed with amazing detail and intricacies. The opportunity for choosing your own adventure is endless. The entire thing is well done. I’m sure it wasn’t cheap. If you want to play for free or FTP as we are known in the game, you will pay for that in other ways. Scopely designs subtle issues that reek havoc on advancement and fair play. The game is still fun but can get very frustrating when one of these issues pops up. You’ll have to wait, or spend earned credit of some sort, or just sit back and watch while the rest of the (paying) server keeps at it. Or start paying for resources of some kind. A notable issue with this game as well are rogue players who will destroy everything you have worked for, sometimes forcing you to waste assets, or resources that you may have paid actual money for. Scopely sees these folks as a way to make more money as the players who get hit spend money to repair or fix that damage. These clowns will argue with the entire server to justify their stupidity. Ultimately they will end up spoiling the game and there have been many players who have quit because they go unchecked and unstopped. The game is well designed. Be aware that it has a few issues that, when encountered, will cause immense stress and emotion. Play at your own risk..J0eb0yVersion: M58.1
3 starsI gave three stars to star fleet command . One there is no alliances war being conducted with other alliances besides targeting miners with alliances or floating ships with alliance . Secondly the resources take to progress a ship is to long and only event ships are the best power houses. Thirdly the amount of officer exp needed to level them up and promote is to high for the quest rewards because at certain point in leveling the operation building . The fourth thing recruiting new officers or getting them promoted is to hard because can only get one character token . It is uncertain how many each of them need to maxed out . The missions do not recycled to get more officer exp or ship exp . Otherwise this free game for those who like destroying ships with some grind .Do not expect to get officers quicker or level them up quickly, or have any indication if there are more severs that are open to ios . This game can benefit by giving alliances more reward systems or give alliances sectors with mines only for that alliance. Other then speed upgrades and the eventual upgrade to do armadas. Low level alliance members can not participate in armadas which means they can not get rewards from it besides reducing the waiting period on upgrades. The last thing mention the roster of characters do not have the crew tag easily identified without having to click on the avatar to find out if they belong in that crew group..Not interesting enoughVersion: 9.0.1
Paywall after paywall2025-Update. Developer has made strides in allowing you to unlock certain paywalls for free, but the game is still free to play, but pay to win. They have also made efforts to reduce the grind, but the grind is still significant. Be prepared for this game to take over your life. Set limits and find the right alliance and it can be fun.
2022-This game is a joke if you really believe this game is “free to play” as listed by the developer. Overall the game concepts are pretty good, but there is absolutely no way to obtain many features of the game that are required to be successful on the leaderboard style events, unless you drop major cash. Every update continually releases a new feature that costs more and more cash to obtain making the game less and less interesting. Unlike most games, the in game currency is basically worthless and CANNOT be used to buy any of the features that cost money. Expect to spend $100 right up front to get the “basic” permanent features to allow you to progress at a reasonable speed compared to the other players in the game. You could easily spend tens of thousands of dollars on this game to progress to a point where one could call it “fun”. Also the time needed to progress and be successful is crazy. One could say it is a 24 hour a day affair. Good luck..:-/. :-/Version: M74
Pretty; needs frequent monitoringI played this for a few months, and was initially hooked. The graphics are high quality, especially for a phone game, and it’s easy to pretend that you’re a starship captain. Concerns about bullying that I’ve read are fairly easy to deal with by joining a strong alliance (choose carefully) and by using the frequently available shields for your station. As I got further into the game, however, I ran into other problems. The game only labels a fraction of missions for suggested level, so it’s easy to take on missions that you’re not ready for. I’ve started missions that I couldn’t finish until many levels later, so long that I couldn’t even remember the beginning of the mission. Even worse, the game requires players to do almost everything manually. Unlike other games I’ve played, there is no way to queue up the next several buildings to construct or upgrade, even if you have the resources; there is no way to set up the next several research topics, even if you can afford to investigate them all; there is no way to give ships automated orders, like telling miners to go back to base on their own when they’re full; and there is no way to line up several ship tier ups or builds in a row, even if you have the parts. This means that players will fall far behind unless they either spend real money, or frequently log in to issue the next set of orders. My schedule does not allow me to babysit miners all day, so at level 19 my progress slowed to a crawl. If you have dollars to burn, and/or you have plenty of free time through the day, you could get farther. I have decided to move on..Jeff204vkVersion: 9.13.0
Pay to WinSo this game has serious issues woth duality. On on hand it is likely the best star trek game made. The content is deep and grows significantly each new arc. On the other as many before have stated it is pay to play. Not a few bucks here and there, a get a 2nd mortgage on your house kind of cost. Big whale players spend 250,000 and more to stay in leaderboards. Medium players spend upwards of 700 to 1000 dollars a month just to try to stay strong enough to defend against whales who litterally go around bullying smaller players and making up thier own rules. There is a free to play option. I have been playing almost 4 years and im a mid tier player. Free to play players and 17 levels below me and whales are 13 levels higher than me. My expenses to stay relavant have been consistently 700 per month and in pvp i lose more than i win. The time it takes to grow is rediculous and the cost in game items takes a month or more to just get one lvl higher is your spending. If your not it can take 4 months to get up a level by mid level 30s. Play at your own risk. This game is fun but this game does everything possible to get you to spend. My advice, dont bother. There are other games on computer online with just as much content that is not geared to grab money from the filthy rich..ZaxiusiiVersion: M52.1.0
I play because friends are here..if they weren’t....In the tips portion of the ad they didn’t mention the terrible rate of refinement to get said Rare materials or even just the Uncommon. Whales always have and advantage but it’s an overwhelming one in this game,
Like grossly. If you don’t spend you won’t really have much of a chance. Scopely also has different rates of these packages resources in the bundles based on age of the server, so choose wisely. The older the server the better your deals will be. Lastly, instead of fixing old issues and improving actual game play they just role out new officers and 1 trick pony ships to lure more whale spending. Just fix some simple things please. Like wording on crew that doesn’t reflect (Djaoki for example)what it actually does...the character skins.. my fed officer in the faction store is from the Blue man group! Klingon crews with no faces...If they actually cared and or catered to the majority of players and gave the majority a chance to take on whales and their alliances, it would drive those who do spend more to continue to do so at a higher rate just to hold the leading edge. This game has potential.. but needs devs that care. It will make money even if you are more generous with your rewards and how people can improve their ships to make it a more fun experience, I promise..SanDiego_grownVersion: M25.1.1
Wish I could give it 5*The concept behind the game is fantastic...but there is a very long way to go before it is 5* worthy. The PvP scale is WAY off. That needs to be addressed. Why is there no kind of alliance battle log? There are battle reports per individual, but leadership cannot see what is happening with our members. Why is there no way to check member activity? We have strict standards of activity, but the only way of knowing, is physically seeing a ship in motion, or seeing them in chat. Dead mining nodes are a huge problem. Lack of nodes for the amount of players are another. The uncommon material drops are preposterous for the amount that is required for upgrades and research. Who ever came up with that algorithm should be fired, and someone with half a brain put in their place. I’m at a complete standstill in building and ship upgrades because of this stupid wait time between refining materials, and the insane drop rate of uncommon. Now moving on to the ‘store’. May as well call it the black market. $100, just to be able to get ahead...Seriously ? This game is geared toward those that can afford to drop serious money to make any headway. And is in NO way friendly to those of us that have to work for what we get. Needless to say, there are numerous issues to address before your fan base drops, and business is lost..Bryanscott75Version: 2.1
Slow Game Play But Very FunThe game is extremely fun to play and addictive in the beginning it’s easy to upgrade and you can pretty much gain all the resources necessary endgame to upgrade but it is a grind my recommendation would be to join a very good alliance from the beginning that supports you teaches you about the inns and outs of the game and even help you gain resources and protect you against bullies in the game because let me tell you this game has lots of bullies in it that constantly attack weaker players one of the things I would add in this gameWould be Easter egg like prizes that would be random of course but would encourage players to stay in and play to try to get these where the prices would be extraordinary allowing them to advance things like 100 hours of speed ups or combination of speed ups big swaths of resources instead of little tiny ones that feed you with a bird dropper people want to advance that is in our nature and if it takes them five weeks just to try to get it shipped to compete less people are going to stay in the game and play but all in all I give it five stars because it is a lot of fun and the possibilities are pretty much endless.LouieR5135Version: 7.6.1
High Dollar SpendersToo many updates and upgrades that don’t fix anything. Now I can’t log in after you’ve done another fix/upgrade/update. I’ve been told it’s a known issue and they are working on it. Ugh!!
You obviously cater to the big spenders and since it’s a money making game, for the developers, I somewhat understand. As for me, I’m not, won’t and can’t spend copious amounts of money on the game since I’m older, have multiple myeloma and on a limited income. The game has been fun up to a point. That point is: you reward us with resources that do not allow us to upgrade much of anything. I need “X” rare uranium to upgrade my Stella. You reward me with “x”, BUT, I must have 2500 rare exchange loot to get this. Every time I try to upgrade something there are 10 things to do to get one level up. It’s the same with the refinery. You refine raw ore and get 7 uncommon grade3 refined ore and need thousands. Rare plutonium in the faction store. Don’t get me started on that. Now, how are we supposed to have fun, progress and combat the others that spend tons of money and have million strength ships???????
Would love an answer but that’s another issue. If I can’t log in, I can’t submit a ticket so I can’t get an answer!!!!.Dadah3Version: M71

Star Trek Fleet Command Negative Reviews
Game is NOT Star TrekBiggest problems are that the game is designed to be a predatory, player-eat-player mess. Players that shell out hundreds of dollars will always be able to beat you up and take your resources. Bases are upgradeable to ‘protect’ some of your resources, however the amount is extremely small and only a fraction of what you actually need to save up to do upgrades. If you want to keep people from raiding you, you have to shell out money to buy ‘peace shields’. Also, stupidly, you can’t use several smaller shields at once to have a longer shield, so your 1 hour and 4 shields are useless because you can’t cover a night of sleep or a work day with them. It only takes a few MINUTES for people to raid you and loot all your stuff, so even small gaps in protection will ruin you. Advancement is impossibly slow unless you shell out tons of cash. Upgrading officers and ships will literally take years without shelling out for multiple $99 bundles. Unlocking the base faction ships is doable with many months of farming, but anything above that will take you YEARS to unlock. Keep in mind that the resources you need to upgrade your bases and level are the same resources that upgrade your ships, so you can’t do both. So...years to upgrade base, then years to unlock a ship, then years to UPGRADE the ship. Gaining levels actually HURTS you in many ways. Quests you could complete yesterday are now impossible because the level of your target ships goes up..InsertnaneVersion: M44
Mobile issuesThe game is beautiful and fun to play but be forewarned…they have issues if you are playing on a mobile device. I’m using an Apple iPad Pro…latest software and very strong WiFi. Never had any issues with other games but this one is terrible. The game freezes up, items lose part or all of their values. I have to close the app and restart it constantly. Support suggested that I delete the game and reinstall it. I’ve done that numerous times. I’m currently working with their support to try and resolve the issues but according to others this is systemic to using a mobile device. They encourage you to use a laptop or PC…even give you extra daily rewards if you do. Again this is a beautiful game and I’m doing my best to stay with it. I’ve put a lot of money into it because I do like it. If you are using a laptop or PC don’t hesitate to download the game…you’ll love it. Mobile users beware.
Update:
I have sent dozens of screenshots to support showing them my issues. They insist everything is functioning fine…even though I’m having to delete and reinstall the game daily to just try and play it. Their support knows they have major issues but as long as they’re still bringing in the money they’ll ignore them. Losing players isn’t a problem for them if they still have big spenders. I don’t mind pay to win…I gave them $2k in a short period of time….but if I can’t play the game because of the bugs and they insist nothing is wrong then I’m out of here..Stitches228Version: M66.2
Buggy AF, Spend $$ or Can’t Really play or Advance!!****update**** Latest update just made the game worse!! Now it doesn’t just crash, it gets laggy every 5min., game will get stuck processing from section to another. Example: went into Klingon space for a mission, game froze up and by the time I got back on, I had been attacked by a Klingon ship & almost destroyed. Fix your issues, quit making/adding more issues to the game!!
iPad app for this game crashes almost every 15 min., chat disappears, daily missions show you’ve completed one but actually you haven’t, or doesn’t say you’ve completed a mission and you find you have!! This is deep space Star Trek, why the hell you forcing mining. On top of that, you make an upgrade cost say 6000 parsteel, yet your warehouse max is way less! Then because you’ve maxed out your warehouses at say 2000 (just an example), our parsteel generators stop making more.... so what are you forcing people to do?? You’re forcing people to spend hours and hours on mining to get past the max warehouse limit or forced to spend $$ to get the resources needed. Even if you spend hours mining, as to NOT spend $$, you get attacked by another player and lose all that loot from mining, so you’ve just wasted all that time mining for nothing!!! Fix, your bugs and fix the missions & mining... oh, and get rid of missions asking us to mine stuff, no one wants to mine 10,000 of any of the steel, ore,crystal,gas... we want to play Star Trek, not a mining game!!.Robertrh4Version: 7.2
Played a few years.First, none of the first graphics you see are screenshots from real gameplay. So if you are expecting the awesome graphics in the advertising you are going to be disappointed.
After playing a few years and recently quitting I can say if you are just starting now, you’re gonna have a bad time. To be good in this game you will need to spend money, and there’s already guys who have spent, no lie, hundreds of thousands of dollars on this game. These are who the creators cater to. I believe gamers can now progress to level 70 so just imagine you’re starting as a free player at level 1 against people who have been playing years. You’re gonna get beat up, you’re gonna be vulnerable, you won’t be able to win any events PvP based. It will be , again no lie, impossible for you to catch up or even be valuable to your alliance without spending money.
Finally I’ll end on customer service and trouble shooting. All of the customer service is thru a bot… you will not be able to speak to anyone in real time. It will be email tag back and forth for days sometimes up to a week, sometime your problem will just never be solved. There are bugs in this game that have screwed up peoples purchases, screwed up peoples chances of winning, screwed up peoples accounts, and your ONLY way to even try and fix this is with a miserable game of email tag. So play at your own risk..DEM84Version: M88.2
Still in the Alpha stage of developmentI love Star Trek and so I have been excited to jump in and play. I am probably about 30 hours into game play and while I really have enjoyed the concept but definitely missing the mark. There are consistent issues with glitches and bugs. Menus or buttons will break and you won’t be able to exit or interact with anything. Notifications will get stuck and you won’t be able to get rid of a badge even though you’ve already acknowledged it.
After about level 10 you are able to attack and be attacked by other players. Which would seem exciting except for there are no natural barriers that separates players. So it doesn’t matter that you’ve advanced to a certain level, someone that is 3x your power can easily attack your ship and destroy it. You can also do the same to others. The challenge is if you’re trying to complete missions or mine resources it is inevitable that within a few minutes you will be attacked and destroyed. As your ships become more and more powerful it takes longer and longer for them to repair. So get ready to wait 30 minutes to an hour for your ships to rebuild every time you login.
I could go on about the things that aren’t quite there but this game has wasted enough of my time. Overall, great concept and if you have a week to blow on this game then do it. After that you’ll prolly get bored of it like so many other players and delete the app..=FishCracker=Version: 1.7.2
Game is worse then ever! This game was fun till about level 21 then it just got horrible everything is way to expensive to buy, I could literally buy 3 PS4’s and a BMW with the money the alliance [BREW] spends in Server 36 and I could buy a House in Long Island with the amount the alliance [SUPR] spends on Server 36 it’s residuals all them 2 alliances do is bully every other alliance to get there way and territory update and add on has made this issue way worse! Not to mention you can’t upgrade your station without spending $50 a month and at least 7 hours a day of playtime a day once you hit level 28 and then you get hit constantly I have to buy shields constantly with my alliance points and it’s just making me not want to play then you have [BREW] Soggy and some other players photo shopping In game DM’s and reporting people for stuff they didn’t really say or was snap shot out of context and then that player gets banned for 24 hours without any warning so then the reporter gets to raid the base of the person he or she reported then that person is left with nothing and scopely gives zero crap about you or your account if you ain’t spending at least $20 a week all it takes is for you to call some racist a idiot and boom your banned for 24-48 hours with NO WARNING AND YOUR BASE IS RAIDED AND YOUR LEFT WITH NOTHING. Don’t play this game I’m level 28 almost level 29 and I’m hating this game more and more every day. Only reason I log on is cause I like the fellas in my alliance..OGProgressiveVersion: M33
Violates True Star Trek And Is Not That Great Of A GameThis game isn’t anything like the best Star Trek games actually out there. It isn't like Star Trek Online (STO), it also doesn't play like Star Trek Armada II, or it’s most popular Mod that is the Star Trek Armada II Mod Fleet Operations (FleetOps) (which is one of two Armada games being re-released by GOG; (not the mod) but Armada I & II) or Star Trek Legacy. As a true Star Trek Fan and an avid Star Trek author, I'd say this game is only worth 2.5 Stars though especially when the above mentioned games are far better and are 100% more entertaining with both a story and gameplay that progresses smoothly. When it comes to Star Trek: Fleet Command though, it isn’t a game that allows you to command a fleet at all; it lies about that with its own name for there is no Fleet Commanding at ALL! It also violates Gene Roddenberry’s true vision he had of humanity being peaceful and wanting to make peace and explore by the fact it has an attacking system where players are attacking other players and this system allows players to attack those players who are lower levels than they are well some if too low you can’t attack but if you’re attacked by a higher up player by level you can’t even return the attack and are stuck. This mechanic of the game needs to be REMOVED! Especially when it is the major reason why so many kids and teens and even many adults actually hate this and have really left the game. This feature is something over currently 1,000 people want removed from the game..Jetnova16Version: M35.1
DISAPPOINTED!!!I love STFC and have played for over 2 years. I have been becoming increasingly upset. The prices on their cash packs are $99 dollars. I rarely buy anything because it's ridiculous. Now today after launching a new arc Scopely has decided to inactivate an officer that we have had since the beginning because they had a glitch and it was really helping us so they inactivated her so that we can’t use her anymore to really help us and enjoy the game. This officer has been around since day one but because it’s really helping the players without having to buy with money other officers that are new. It’s just really disappointing that it seems like all Scopely cares about is our hard earned dollars. Yesterday when they rolled out the new Arc it was broken since the minute it was put up and then they had to take hours before it would come back up but still it’s sucked. I’m sorry but I wouldn’t recommend anyone to put a penny into this game Anymore. It's just a travesty and I guess they really don’t care about their player base and wouldn’t care if we left but I know I am going to socket to them where it hurts the most and that is their greedy pockets. I feel bad for the underlings that work for the company Cause I’m sure that they will be blamed for this whole fiasco. So no more of my money Scopely if I want to spend I’ll take it somewhere else I work too hard for my money and y’all are just greedy and ridiculous..OnenotofthisworldVersion: M46.0.0
Love to hate it.The game is buggy and the developer does not care. Customer service is atrocious and had gotten markedly worse over the year I played the game. Scopely, the game developer, uses gambling psychological tools to get you to spend more and blatantly supports bullying of players to frustrate smaller players into spending money. The intent is to create an arms race fueled by your credit card. You will never be one of the strongest players in the game unless you are willing to spend literally thousands of dollars a year on the game. You cannot play this game at your leisure. Scopely will set the clock. On its most basic level, when you are not online, you have to protect yourself with “peace shields.” The only way to get a 24 hour “peace shield” is to buy one. 48 hour costs more and going up from there. So, you cannot take a week vacation, unless you are willing to pay the game designer for the ability to do that.
The game is glitchy. There are many problems with stability. If these create problems that cost you a purchase whether using real money or an in-game currency, expect the customer service to simply say, “We are sorry, we will try to do better in the future.” After multiple times of being told it, that is what finally drove me from the game.
I do not know what the game was when it first started. It’s stability and playability has gotten significantly worse over the time I played it though. It is getting more complicated and consistently adding more and more things to grind through..IbnalnoorVersion: M64
Pay to win is a realityThis game is fun, it’s a lot of fun. Cool missions, easy game play. I got to level 22, and now I realize it’s a complete pay to win system. Most games you can put in more time and actually compete. I’ve spent 45 dollars on this game and I’m still WAY behind the big guns. I thought I could grind it out, but it’s impossible. They offer massive upgrades that you can buy. They call these prime upgrades. And at the higher levels they are basically impossible to obtain. And it’s not just a small bonus. The bonus is like, double all ship damage for 20-50 dollars. And technically it’s possible to grind your way there, but i calculated that at a 20% drop rate for a rare mineral, and a 12 hour clock it would take a year to get one of these upgrades. And it doesn’t stop there by a long shot. You can pay to upgrade your officers and there is no limit. So people do it. I’ve heard of people dropping well over 1O,000 dollars for these crazy ships and crews. It’s just not fair. I’m all for paying for something’s, the game has to make money, but this game allows the ultra rich to absolutely dominate. I can’t blame them it’s a business, but they do not cap it. So I’m done. The game is actually a business and it’s not worth your time because people will just destroy your base, take your resources and there is nothing you can do about it. Well there is something you can do and it’s she’ll put some serious money..Purple Reign 303Version: 9.5.0
Great concept. Poor coding. The game has a great concept. Unfortunately it is coded very poorly. As a software engineer myself I cannot believe how these developers have failed at making this game. The game is riddled with bugs and every time one thing gets fixed 10 others will break. Every time a new update comes out it seems to undo all the bug fixes from the previous versions. The game is basically a mining game right now. Where you mine and mine all day, day after day. Then you have to rely on a random chance in the refinery. All players have asked time and time again for the refinery output to be fixed because you can only refin every 9 hrs and sometimes it takes days before you get any uncommons. It takes at times 250 uncommons just to upgrade the next building. The developers made it so you have to buy packs to get stronger.
The customer support in game is pretty much useless. They never can give you a time frame to fix something. The shields protecting your base and attack notifications constantly fail. So one day you wake up to all your hard earned work/money you spent on rss is all gone. Customer support will not compensate you for their mistakes. This is because all they want is your money. So now you buy more rss packs to replenish your loss. Well guess what happens, the attack notifications fail and the shield failed again and all your rss is gone again.
For anyone wishing to play this game DO NOT. I repeat DO NOT spend your money on it. These developers only care about making money. They don’t care about making the game better or the players..Canada1701Version: 7.3.1
Pay to SurviveThere are a variety of methods to monetize a game. I have to give the devs for this game some credit for effectively monetizing predatory behavior. The concept of the game is simple enough, develop officers, facilities, and ships. That is fun enough and if there was some option to play without being constant prey it would be enjoyable. But, unless you spends $100s (yes, multiple $100s) of dollars you will be completely outmatched by pay to win players who will farm you while you grind on the environment. Don’t even begin to dream that you can effectively PVP here without buying that ability. There is no option to not engage with those players. You can’t even run from them. Each time I’m destroyed by a player roughly my level with ships 4x more powerful, ships that I could easily defend against for a mere $300, I end up hating the game a little more.
I was hoping this would be a game that could be enjoyed without all the in-app purchases. I’m usually pretty cool with being patient and accepting that i might have to grind something out for a few years before I see or play some of the best content. Being constantly punished for not wanting to spend money for every achievement just isn’t as fun for me as it might be for others, I guess.
TLDR. If you enjoy games where you can buy success and prey on those who don’t (I’m not judging you if that is what you enjoy), this is the perfect game for you. If you like to patiently build success with time and attention, you will won’t like this much..LowkeVersion: M38
Starts strong finishes weak, poor serviceDo yourself a favor. Read the reviews, the star levels are pumped up, do the math. I have deleted this app. When I first started the game There were only a few bugs and had more than enough resources to help build. As with any strategy game when you progress resources become more scarce. Today there are more bugs that cause the game to glitch or just quit and when it does you lose all your hard earned Dilithium for no reason. I notified their customer service twice with no response. Once you pass level 9 it is next impossible to mine Dilithium And Other raw elements to help you build your ships upgrade your supplies and materials and station. I am at level 14 and won’t go beyond because once you go to level 15 then your station can be regularly attacked by others. The problem with is that just about everybody is subject to trolls. You can’t mine for minerals longer than five minutes before somebody is fighting with you and killing you. To keep up with everyone you need to buy upgrades. It starts out cheap at $5 but after you buy one or two you can only buy$25 items, then later only $50 items are available. If you ever watch the advertisement on TV the play of the game is nothing like that, you don’t see any video clips or epic battles. The commercial has nothing to do with the game. I started out enjoying the game now it just not worth playing. Don’t waste your time unless you got money to burn..Delivery ErrorsVersion: 1.7.4
Broken quest mechanics prevent progressOften it is impossible to proceed through the game because the quest mechanics break while you’re trying to complete a quest. The quest dialogue will stop working seemingly for no reason and then I’ll leave the game and come back a couple of hours later and the quest will resume and then complete also seemingly for no reason. Also there are many quests where the objective is not clear. For example on the quest “security sweep” you are told to “patrol the area around mines for hostile” but it doesn’t explain what the game considers to be “patrolling the area”. On another quest you are instructed to scout for a new system to move your base to but the game does not tell you which types of systems are acceptable so you have to just randomly fly your ships around to different systems until you find one that the game considers acceptable and marks the quest complete. Other times the dialog system breaks at the end of a quest and the game does not mark the quest complete. The only way to get the game to complete the quest is to quit the game for a couple of hours and then come back and suddenly the game will play that bit of dialogue again and then mark the quest complete. There is also a bug where if a player places their base on a planet that also has a quest objective you can’t complete the quest because when you tap to get the quest objective on the planet, instead of showing the quest objective it shows the player’s station. Although I enjoy the gameplay generally speaking it’s the garbage quest system that makes the game a write-off..AppleusergghjiikVersion: M43.1.1
Could be a great game but.......the Toxic cultureThe pvp aspect of this game totally ruins it. It creates a very toxic and mean culture within the game. Not enough mining nodes are available, so players are constantly attacking your mining ship. Even if you want to be polite, nice and mature, some kid will attack your station in the middle of the night and send you a message like “pwned”
The pve aspect of the game is great. The missions are fun, the daily quests are fun, the gameplay of building ships and strengthening your station and ships is rewarding and will keep you coming back. Some people complain the station upgrades and ship building take way too long, but I understand they want to make money on this game so they sell the speedups, and you can either pay or wait 5 days for your ship to be built, which I think is fine for a tradeoff. It’s a business and they need to make money.
This game could be so much better if there were something like Warcraft where you could choose to be a pvp player or not. Or another option could be something like faction based pvp, where your federation neighbor couldn’t attack your station, but a player with klingon or romulan faction alignment could fly over to your system and take the risk of attacking you while they would be open to be attacked by your faction. The way it is now has really nothing to do with Star Trek lore. It’s almost like they took another everybody against everybody game and reskinned it with Star Trek assets..Austin's very own Ken WardVersion: 9.0.1
Cheating is apparently allowed. So, not long ago, my server was merged into another server, that on average was way higher level then ours. My entire original server has been on its back foot ever since because the people originally from this server have decided we are “invaders” and have literally told us the only way we won’t be treated like dirt is if we quit and leave their server. Now, some of those same bully’s have started hacking the game so that if they target your ship, you can’t run away, your ship will magically change direction when you try and head strait at the oncoming attacker. I reported this, and was told by someone in support that this is “normal pvp”. If you don’t like getting bullied, or pay to win games, don’t play this game.
So coming back to with a new complaint. Now a new mechanic has been added to force pvp. As if the game wasn’t unbalanced enough with pay to win, now they have enacted events to require server wide pvp for 4 days straight. In other words, if you aren’t high enough level, it is now impossible to advance or make progress for 4 days out of the week. I have been playing this game since about a year after it launched and it has progressively gotten more and more unfair to anyone that is not rich and willing to drop stupid amounts of cash. The Devs have no idea what Star Trek is about and Gene Roddenberry would be disgusted with this type of thinking..Wade2814Version: M65
Seriously unbalancedThis game started out extremely fun. Who wouldn’t want to fly around in a starship, blow up hostiles, complete missions and engage is some friendly PvP. There are numerous pay walls as you progress and with a maximum level of 50, hitting a major pay wall at 19 is ridiculous. I spent just over $2k on the game and made it halfway through level 27. Upgrading structures and buildings takes 3-4x more resources than your station can possibly generate on its own. The change in resources needed as you level is exponential and not linear at all. At lvl 27 I can generate and hold ~3 million par steel. Building upgrades cost upwards of 10 million. It is absurd that on order to level up the station you must spend $99 per pack and probably need 3-4 packs to gain a level. Also, pack purchases scale with your station level. At lvl 1, packs give substantially less than at lvl 10 and even less at lvl 20. Packs shouldn’t be tiered to give more at higher levels. Packs should not scale whatsoever and simply give less benefit as you gain levels. Either that or make all packs scaled to what they would give at maximum level. The individual servers are run by those who spend tons of $$$ Because they have the most powerful stations and make the rules. I am quitting the game mostly for this reason alone. My recommendation is that unless you have a massive disposable income or are keen on massive credit card debt I would steer clear of this game entirely..HsutxmanVersion: 7.3.1
Pvp brackets ruin fun*update to previous review* learning to protect yourself can solve some of the issues stated previously but Scopely allows and seems to encourage bullying. System constraints that allow player groups to literally *block* players from getting into defend their own territory. Power disparity forces people to purchase more as a team of 3 heavy spenders can easily hold off dozens of f2p or lower spending average players. Server mergers reduced what had become a peaceful and enjoyable format into a brawl mentality that forces nonspenders out of the game. Scopely allows the strife and bullying and hate speech even when brought to them. Their report system seems to do nothing and their ticket system is user unfriendly and limits your ability to report.** Been having a great time with the game until hitting level 20. Within 12 hours of that, I got cleaned out. People that 4 levels higher than me can attack. 20% higher in player level but 500% my power level. Weeks with of saving gone in less than an hour because a timed shield ran out. There is no way to combine shields to longer periods. There is no way to opt out of pvp. I spent money on this game (something I rarely do) because it felt like there was value to it but the pvp system completely ruined it as soon as I hit this range. I can’t justify another dime.MightyNeinVersion: M53.1
Starts good but doesn’t lastStarts out fun exploring, missions, and resource gathering. But the closer you get to level 20 the less point there is to playing anymore. If you do the missions you eventually hit a point where your expected to kill ships that are over twice the power of your current ships, and to tier up your ships take forever unless you pay $$$. The resources needed for tier up and upgrades have to be gather, but mining vessels get destroyed before you can gather. And the fights become pointless, example: ship A power level 17k, ship B 120k power level. Ship b attacks every ship in the area, player with ship A wiped out, obviously. Ship c power level 11k, ship A cannot attack ship C because the level difference is too high... and yet having a ship with over 100k pl difference attack is perfectly fine. Don’t waste your time unless you want to spend hundreds of $$$s. Even someone of the same level can buy designs giving them 10s of thousands of power difference. While you think you can get the same for free and it will just take longer, that is not the case, I’m level 19 can’t do any of the missions I have because anything I have to fight is 2x the power level of my ships. Or they want donations of resources that max capacity doesn’t cover. Can’t mine anything without getting destroyed by ships that shouldn’t even need the resources I’m mining..AdarkartistVersion: 7.5
SCOPELY CONDONES BULLYING-AVOIDBasically a whale (big spender) out spends everyone on the server, becomes a giant troll, muscles out anyone they don’t like. I’ve played for 2 years and have spent quite a bit myself, yet any messages to Scopely about bullying are ignored. They are allowed to do as they please. I had a great community of friends that I spent time playing the game with and spent time with outside of the game. Now a good portion of those have quit and I’m on the edge of quitting. I do know I won’t be buying any more of their ridiculously expensive $100 packs. They are expensive and you don’t get much. They will offer blueprints for a new ship but it would cost $2000 in real money to get it quickly or it will take months in game to earn it. As you are trying to grow, you’re getting bullied from the whales as they have a 112M power ship and you may have only 2-3M power ship. Scopely allows the lopsided advantage so it is no fun in the PvP aspect of the game. Then there is the constant game chat bullying from trolls that, even when reported with screenshots of wildly inappropriate behaviour, NOTHING HAPPENS. Sometimes a troll gets an 8 hour ban. Then they come back madder than ever and bully people more. It is a toxic soup that a true Trek fan should absolutely avoid. Server D35 AVOID. On top of it all, if you start looking around reviews and Reddit, you’ll find this is what happens on EVERY server..EfjfvjuVersion: M37.1
Game made for cyber bullying supported by ScopelyRead the reviews…..this game is toxic with bullying that is supported by the creators. They claim it is a pvp game but that is not true. You spend more money than everyone else and you get to blow them up. How is that even a challenge? There is no strategy to the game at all. They make out like there is but it all boils down to bigger is better. That is shooting fish in a barrel. Scopely supports these actions because bigger to them is big spender and they are more important than anyone else that tries to just enjoy the game. It can’t be done when they gang up on everyone else on the server. So either you are apart of the problem or you are a victim of it. You see the reviews like these with no response from Scopely. Got nothing to say? You could at least try to deny it. Chew on this for a minute….people are leaving the game because of your bullies. If they all leave and the big bullies have no one to bully, what do you think is gonna happen then? Well half your bullies will leave and go to another game that also allows these actions. The rest will eventually get bored and they will leave as well. Then who will be left to spend any kind of money on your game? The fix is simple, create a zone just for pvp and leave the rest to the people that just want to enjoy the game. That way the pvp guys can still beat up people in that zone and even challenge them to a battle. But blind their stats from each other to at least make it a challenge. Use Jurassic Worlds pvp to give you an example. But I dare you to honestly respond to this! Fix it guys!.NickaDomusVersion: M47.2.1
The Tesla of Trek Games? In many respects, this is a great game. Engaging content, great visuals and a large and dedicated gamer community. But this game is like a Tesla car. Full of driving promise, but fundamentally plagued with non-stop issues of quality control and scale.
It’s also an inside joke/lament among those who play STFC that Scopely is more interested in maximizing revenue than addressing player concerns. For example, stability of the iOS version is poor. Frequent crashes often interrupt play (to be fair, these have improved recently). But new bugs accompany every game update and rarely seem to be fixed rapidly.
Scopely periodically acknowledges just how burdensome daily game tasks have become — then promptly adds more (often buggy) content. And with every new feature, F2P progress becomes increasingly challenging.
I should also warn you that the fun and flow of this game is severely marred by interminable transition screens. Get used to messages such as “Preparing” or “Adjusting” as you wait for game screens to load. And that’s if you don’t have to reboot.
If, like the Tesla owner, you can look past the glitchy performance, and can ignore expensive in-game purchases necessary to compete effectively, you will really enjoy this Trek tribute. If not, you will quickly end up frustrated by Scopely’s missed chance to make this a truly epic game, which it has the potential to be..AlnacoalVersion: M85.1
Only the graphics are Star Trek, and at that rarely. This is a pure no-skill PVP game where victory is decided singly by your 'power', which is in turn a function of how much you’ve paid. If you’re interested in doing missions and having a good experience upgrading and progressing, you'll have that until level 14 (about a week) and by then the developers have decided you’re sufficiently addicted to unleash the kracken. Alliances of players spending thousands of dollars will deny you entry into systems needed to complete quests, or mine resources (which is how you will spend all of your time despite mining being a virtually non-existent part of trek outside VI.)
The timers will get more and more ludicrous as you sit there and wait 10 minutes to travel somewhere just to get instaganked by someone with 10x your power, and then wait 40 more minutes for your ship to repair and do it again... that is, if they haven’t chain looted your base to 0 resources. Which they did. For no explicable reason, despite the power differential between levels growing exponentially with each level, the gap grows rather than shrinks of how far down the chain you can “attack” as you level up. A level 24 player can obliterate you when you are level 18. Your destruction will not move their health bar a pixel.
In the end, the only point of the game is to grief players who spent less than you and deny them content or advancement, while watching timers tick down and red and green triangles circle each other (that’s right, you don’t even see Star Trek graphics for all that.) Stay away..NonpotestVersion: 1.7.4
Money grabIt’s sad that this is being passed off as a Star Trek game when there’s very little Star Trek to it. Mine, blow other ships up, attack bases, etc. might all sound fun but it’s not. Mining can take HOURS, during which you’ll get attacked and destroyed by some jerk who bought a super unbeatable ship during the first days of release for $50. And when you’re destroyed, you lose part of what you mine. So it’s one step forward, two steps back. Upgrading takes 8+ hours to days on end. Alliances are helpful but only up to a point. It’s literally kill or be killed and currently the top alliances are solely focused on blitz attacks on lower level players because they can. The response is “hey it’s just a game, relax.” But therein lies the problem. You’ve taken away anything that can be fun about it and made it incredibly frustrating. To stick around, you either have to play for 18 hours a day or make purchases for resources and faster upgrades. I caved and bought a few, thinking it would take the target off my back and maybe allow me to enjoy the game without constant barrages. It didn’t. I played since day 2. Spent maybe $60 and I’ve had enough. Uninstalled and frankly I’d like my money back but I know that’s not happening. Don’t bother downloading unless you like your eyes glued to your iPad 24/7 and you don’t mind constant ambushes. Does anyone remember when Star Trek used to be about exploring?.Startrekkin58Version: 1.7.3
Online bullying is encouraged by scopelyThis game can be fun and a welcome diversion at first. However the game designers have encouraged an environment that promotes bullies. The bullies in the top alliances continuously raid bases and destroy the miners of players and alliances that have no chance of fighting back.
When you are bullied the game designers want you to become enraged and buy packages for ship and base upgrades so you can ‘defend’ yourself. What you don’t realize is that these packages cost $100 and will only give you enough to sometimes level something up. You still can’t defend yourself against rich people who dump thousands of dollars into their account to stay more powerful than honest players. Oh and there is also the fact that if you buy upgrade packages, the abusive players can steal that from you too.
I was a hardcore player for several months and I spent nearly $1000 on packages and upgrades. I was planning my sleep schedule and social schedule around the game and when it would be safe for my account for me to step away for a few hours. I reached level 23 and I was fairly strong for my level. However, I still couldn’t compete with players that spend thousands of dollars on the game, and I was just cannon fodder or a cash cow for the in game bullies to steal from.
I walked away from the game and deleted it from my devices; I’m much happier now.
TLDR: Don’t bother downloading this game..TribbleTrouble357Version: 7.4
Abhorrent Customer SupportI contacted apple about the developers micro transaction policy. My son whom is the actual player of this game, had accidentally purchased multiple packs because, as I found though research, when you tap on an item to “build” in game or whatever it says “speed up” with no confirmation dialogue or anything it simply uses in game purchase able currency. What’s worse, you can tap on one item out of a list of 4 and the menu randomly jumps between items after a tap. So you could accidentally purchase multiple different things when intention was to get one. My son ended up getting 3 of the packs this way. I contacted the developer because APPLE DOES NOT CONTROL in app microtransactions. The developers do. After literally 25 separate emails of the developer saying “We can’t it has to be refunded though apple” and me replying to them with apples app policy and apples emails saying it’s developer controlled I am now here. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS GAME. The company is now on my list of fKd up developers. Shady practice jumping menu items around to get players to waste money. Especially since they clearly know that this is the case which is why they feign understand and try to redirect you to apple support. If I worked at Apple I would delist this application and all others from this developer. It makes a terrible reflection on Apple as a company for allowing this crap to go on..Ax5645Version: 7.3.1
If you like frustrationI used to like this game but it has gotten worse and worse. It crashes and glitchy they did fix some stuff but they just create new ones. I’m lvl 20 only bought a couple of packs to get the jelly back in the early levels. It has been a grind I tell but at the level I’m at to get the upgrades I need to progress I become a giant target so anytime I get close I just get raided over and over again and I’m a watcher of my station but when the alert comes in after my base has been raided is bull. The daily peace shield that you get is 8 hrs it should at least be a 24 hr peace shield for doing your daily. And you should be able to get a 7 day peace shield after a month of dailies. The protected amount is disproportionate at your base to what is needed a example is I need 3 million of one resource but your base only protects 125 thousand that’s were the constant attacks come from and because you only can get a 8 hour shield and life happens throughout the day and then the alert comes in late that your base is being attacked and that’s your frustration along with all the glitches. Now I’ve bought a little bit the prices are outrageous the largest they should charge for anything is 20 bucks but they have stuff that’s as high as 99 bucks for not very much especially at higher levels it’s not worth it play if you want but you will get frustrated over and over if they made it more proportional it would be better but I’m quitting after your resources keep disappearing after I work hard at it for a week of mining and scavenging dead bases and only having 8 hr peace shields..TrippenOhioVersion: 9.2.0
The game is fun but has many glitchesI played the game for about three months, enjoying most aspects of the game despite the many glitches. A few mining nodes don’t work even after updates that supposedly fixed them and several times I completed missions but didn’t receive the rewards. The game is very unbalanced, I was getting hit by players 11+ levels above me. A fully upgraded lv22 station has no chance of defense against a lv30+ ship. I learned to just keep a shield up when I wasn’t playing.
I personally spend money on games cause it allows me to not spend time doing the stuff that is not enjoyable. I also realize that if people don’t spend money then developers will no longer make games. Which brings me to my biggest complaint, customer service. I bought a pack which came with resources and started a few upgrades. I put up a shield. While the shield was active, I got attacked and lost most of the resources I bought. The game failed me in three ways, (1) I was attacked while under a shield, (2) I never received a shield notification, (3) I never received a station attack notification. I reached out to support and they were unwilling to correct the issue. Supports response was “In as much as I want to help you out, I can only do so much.” They did nothing to correct the problem..Remc78Version: 7.3.1
Whole list of fail.Need a full signal to even attempt to connect. The game freezes and locks you out at random times. The quest lines are a mess and the “story” isn’t even worth reading. Even the best chests only drop 5/100 for an epic. Without the free epic Kirk you’re completely capped by day 3 because the ships max power is weaker than a level 10. Most promo codes don’t work when they are still listed as active. But the worst two things are people paying money for well over a year already and have 400,000,000 more power than you and the timers to progress in the game. Everything starts at minutes but only two days into the game and the timers are at half a day and you need multiple projects to continue to level up. I imagine by -halfway- through the game *each* upgrade takes weeks to complete. Also if you don’t spend 40$ to buy the extra build and research it’s months of waiting it’s -one- project at a time. Not. Worth. It. For a game that’s been around so long they give very little incentive for new players to join. So don’t expect to get anywhere even if you pay to play at this point as people have been doing it for a year already. Hard pass. Also for anyone still reading all battles are third person and you control nothing and see nothing in detail. Just some pixels swirling. Blah..Nickname4nowVersion: M70.2

We'll take your feedback to the heart and do our best to improve in order to meet your expectations! If you have any suggestions, please feel free to let us know.
This seems to be the generic and canned response usually given to genuine concerns from players who like or love a game but can’t play it due to whales being able to dominate. Are whales needed in games to be successful? Probably. But should they be able to dominate a dev group to make a game cater to their whims and fancies and ruin a game for countless others? Probably not. I stopped playing once I reached a certain level because I could no longer upgrade my ships due to the vast amounts needed to level up and my inability to be able to successfully protect those resources; I was basically a farm for those who could pulverize me the second, and I’m not really exaggerating there; the second my tiny shield expired. To make the game a bit more tolerable would be to have battle restrictions where certain power levels can’t attack if they are too high or too low. This might make it easier for players to hoard their resources or be able to enjoy the game without getting obliterated to smithereens..Live long enough to be farmedVersion: M71.2
Notification fails, horrible customer serviceThe game has been buggy from the start. Many have gotten worse over the years. The most frustrating is the alert system. The game often fails to tell you you’re being attacked, even if you’re on your phone at the time, leading to a significant or total loss of resources that sometimes you paid for! Don’t throw your money away on buying resources, because Scopely’s failures and bugs will cause you to lose it. The customer service has gone from bad to horrible over the years too. They went from telling you they’d fix it, to telling you it’s working as intended, to totally blocking out any input or comments. It’s just a bot now that immediately closes out the ticket. I’m not paying for this garbage any more, and I suggest others not waste their money until Scopely fixes the game.
UPDATE: You can see Scopely’s response. Attack notifications had been incredibly reliable for years. A push came through every attack. You could count on it. Now who knows. And their excuse is lame, because Discord and Twitter and Messenger every news and sports app can figure out how to get their push notifications through. And Scopely did too! It worked. It doesn’t any more. Again, don’t waste your money on resources because Scopely’s failures will lead you to lose them..Made It Worse!Version: M38.1
Skip this one for a year or soCame into this game with high hopes and was pretty much disappointed from the outset. Progress in this game screeches to a near halt pretty fast unless you are ready to dump some serious cash into progressing. If you aren’t then sit back and get ready for some incredible frustration. The players that do become amazingly powerful VERY fast and prey on everyone with nearly unstoppable ships. I grunted out for 19 out of 50 levels and just got tired of the amount of time it took to accomplish absolutely nothing. Just building a simple structure was taking 3 or more days (an obvious taunt to impatience to get you to pay to speed things up)and it took many of these structures to progress. Storyline is slow and monotonous. Fly from one place to another, kill a bad guy, receive minimal rewards. Ship power climbed very slowly too. Even the great alliance I was in couldn’t protect itself from the cash kings constant pillaging everyone with their showroom ships. If you are a game bully and have LOTS of extra cash and want to throw it away to buy pixel ships in a glitchy mediocre game, this one is for you. Personally I would suggest waiting a year or so to see if the designers address a few of the obvious problems and make it more about player enjoyment than sucking up your time and money. So disappointing..Woof77Version: 2.1
Don’t waste your time....I would give this less than a 1 Star if I could. On the surface, the game seems good. The concept of Star Trek is what got me to play. However, the game should have never gotten out of Beta. Most of the crew abilities don’t work, ship abilities don’t work, ships randomly blow up in space dock, ships jump out of warp with the “timer” off meaning you can’t do anything and you get blown up by hostiles resulting in wasting resources... need more resources, no problem you can BUY them. When Scopely bothers to push updates, they roll back the power of your ships and base. What does this mean, BUY more stuff to get back the power you already paid for. Silver lining, APPLE has refunded many, many people some even 100%. However, even though you get a refund for what you paid for that Scopely rolled back, Scopely will then kick you from the game, or reset your game back to day one and put you on a different sever with no way of changing servers. Mind you, they kick you even if you didn’t get 100% refunded, meaning they took your money. Their reason, you broke the terms of service... despite they negated your purchases in the first place precipitating the refund! Buyer be ware, Scopely has a horrible BBB rating and extensive complaints about this game and others. You would be better served buying a dead cat off the street to play with, it works better than this game..J MSW/PHDVersion: 2.0
An embarrassment to the Star Trek nameI have played for a while, but I’m sorry this is just a poorly designed game that brings shame on the Star Trek franchise. Trek is about a positive hopeful future, boldly exploring, meeting new races and civilizations, team missions on strange worlds, the examples set by Kirk, Picard, Archer, and all the rest. Not mining. Soooo much mining, unless you pay to play. Unlock a new ship? Great, now you have to mine something new. Which brings us to the most broken part, PvP. Ship power scales way too quickly and becomes overpowering even a couple levels up. As in they suffer less than 5% damage when taking out all my ships, or space station. Yeah that’s right one ship can destroy a whole space station and 3 ships while taking less than 10% damage. Imagine Picard just flying from station to station blowing them up then taking out 10 mining vessels and that’s the whole game. Just grind away and pick on people less powerful than you, sounds nothing like Star Trek. Building your station is kinda cool, even if you have no frame of reference for any values. And the tech progression is ok, but tedious. If they had just built around that they could have made a decent game. If you want a Star Trek fix, try Timelines, much better play balance and a lot more characters you remember from every series and movie. Live long and Prosper, but not with this game!.Grinch23orVersion: 1.7.4
BullyingThe censor system is complete garbage to prevent “bullying” like filtering the word idiot. However, they fail even more miserably at controlling the bullying behavior by allowing harassers and big spenders the ability to attack anyone within 14 levels. So a big spending player with a 6 million strength ship can attack and player with a 250k ship. Some of the spenders have ego problems and go around not abiding by a common courtesy ROE (you get the clowns saying ROE is weak and you can tell they are civilians because even real life war zones have ROE) to leave armadas and and not attack cargo miners not over their protected line. Creating a bullying environment and miserable play style when a big spender wants to throw a temper tantrum. You will lose the desire to play after all your base resources are completely drained leaving you the inability to repair your ships and even upgrade your base. The protected amounts within your base are terrible and leave too much exposed to people who forget or are unable to shield up.
They need to stand up against those causing players to quit, but they are too cowardly to challenge those who line their pockets the most. A simple system of adjusting it to make ships more than 500k difference in strength cannot attack weaker ships in conjunction with the level range.
Don’t play if you don’t want to get bullied by those who are fortunate enough to be able to spend thousands upon thousand of dollars to when things don’t go their way. A Mockery of Federation ValuesThis game was fun... for a little while. The chat is completely useless and full of gross men. I decided to continue to play, but stay out of the chat until tonight when a user made a “joke” about burning Jews. When a few non-racist individuals including myself called him out for it he and his like-minded friends began some weird competition to see who could tell the most offensive joke, POC, women, and trans individuals being the most popular targets. I would be shocked, considering the fact that this game is Star Trek themed and the original series was so devoted to ending prejudice and promoting diversity, scientific exploration, international and intergalactic cooperation, and pacifism, but this game seems to have forgotten that from the very beginning. There is no chance for exploration. The entire gameplay is set up to force players to fight each other. I tried to build my station and mine peacefully but there is no way to advance in the game and get the materials necessary without fighting. No wonder it attracts such horrible individuals. Gene Rodenberry, Leonard Nimoy, and everyone involved in the creation of Star Trek would be appalled. This game is a total travesty and isn’t worthy of bearing the Star Trek name. I have deleted the app and I suggest all fans of the show do the same. Maybe if enough of us leave the developers of this app will make some much needed changes. Or maybe they’re content for their entire user base to be racist, homophobic, misogynistic, violent men. We’ll see..NerdyGymCoachVersion: 7.4.1
A detriment to star trek principlesThe game’s internal politics between players is a vast majority of drama, bullying, and unwarranted stress. Most alliances bully others, threaten ultimatums, and actively antagonize one another. This is entirely antithetical to all that star trek resembles and reveres: diplomacy, discovery, unity, progressiveness, humanitarianism.
In addition to that, the game is incredibly glitchy. What is playable is boringly slow, often taking a full day’s worth of waiting for base/ship building to finish so you can actually play the game. The game also is extremely top-heavy in terms of pay-to-play. All high spending players have massively overpowered ships which in a pvp environment ultimately suppress any hopeful upstart beginner to the game.
Literally the only upsides are the music, graphics, and maybe bits and pieces of the story. All else is ruined by greed, power imbalance, glitches, and the worse side of gamers’ personalities. I did make some friends who I cherished, but sadly they weren’t enough to redeem the game itself. Play at your own risk..Lady GaghGaghVersion: 1.7.2
Players bewareThis is another game that is actually worse than the pay to win games you hear about. Developer greed has hit an all new low. This game is PAY TO PLAY. You literally cannot advance in the game unless you spend money.
There are pay walls everywhere in the game. Yes, a talented player can bypass some of them, but as you level up there are just more and more of them. And those players willing to drop thousands of dollars for a single level upgrade will just destroy you.
The entire game is designed to take your money. You will think initially it is not so bad and what you bought seems useful. It is not unless you continue to spend and spend in ever increasing amounts.
If you are naive like me and contact support they will tell you they didn’t intend for it to be like this, but let’s face it, the game wouldn’t be here if they didn’t want it like this.
So very sad as I was looking forward to a good space game..Mveen3Version: 1.7.2
Don’t bother with this gameThis hame is severely disappointing. In order to get anywhere you have to spend tons of money as they only have overpriced packages available in their store once you buy the smaller $6.99 ones they disappear and go from $14 to $27 to $70. Progress is painfully slow as research times are long, each batch of materials takes 9 hours to refine with no option to speed that up like everything else and because there’s either not enough resources to go around or people it’s just easier, people just go around destroying your mining ships before you get any significant amount of anything you need so to have any chance you’ve got to use your fighting or exploring ships to mine which takes even longer and sooner or later someone comes along and destroys those too! Plus when you do have enough ore, gas or crystal to make a batch you can go three or four batches (once again 9 hours each) without getting the “uncommon” type you need to upgrade your ships and even then it’s most often such a piddly amount that it takes forever just to upgrade one part which you have to do over and over again each time you upgrade all the parts on your ship and “tier up”. I haven’t upgraded to the level where stations can be attacked as I can only imagine the level of frustration that would add. This game is a joke. I’ve uninstalled it and reinstalled it a couple of times and gave it another chance but now, I’m done!.RockincreepVersion: 1.7.4
Stay AwayThis game has the potential to be one of the best StarTrek games on iOS if the game wasn’t full of bugs and wasn’t so imbalanced in favour of those who pay to play. As a huge Star Trek fan I really wanted to love this game but alas the developers show little support and blame all their poor programming on the users or a need to restart the program. Each day brings a new bug that sucks the fun out of the game and that is ignoring the constant pvp from wallet warriors who would rather take you out for resources than work for it themselves. Top that off with all the higher level resources being selfishly guarded by all the strong alliances and it doesn’t leave any avenue for growth except for those willing to spend a lot of money. This game is not worth it... if you want a Star Trek game play Trexels 2. That one is at least fun and can be played to the fullest for free!.ZasafarVersion: 1.7.2
Save your money and stay away. This game has no correlation with the Star Trek franchise values. This is a game of bullying others just because you can. The chat line is full of obscene language and common bullying, not mention the conversations on politics which infuriates me.
This game is a total time waster of building structures, power and strength. If you pay you build faster but the end game is destroy everyone everywhere or be destroyed.

This is not Star TrekThe developers have never seen Star Trek they are using the name to get people to download this trash. This a game about piracy and payed players and higher level players stealing from other lower level players. I’ve played the game for about 3 months and you need to pay money to play this game because mining is pointless when it’s faster to steal from other players unless you are on the game all the time to keep putting shields up your bace it will get attacked repeatedly until almost all you’re resources are gone. It only takes minutes to steal a month worth of mining. Just one look at the cost of thing thing this game you should know that it just a money grab and a shameful use of a franchise.Superjohn1Version: 2.1

Do not play unless you’re willing to pay to win!Been playing this game for a few weeks now, and can honestly say that I’m already thinking of quitting. Reasons:
- If you don’t have deep pockets to pay to win, then don’t bother to start this game. You will be bullied by older players or player willing to pay to win. Bullied how? Have your ships killed for no reason. Your bases raided by players 8 levels higher than you. Unable to mine resources because players 10 levels higher than you are just camping on the mines and there’s nothing you can do about it. Etc... GAME IS JUST NOT FRIENDLY FOR NEW PLAYERS.
- Game is really unbalanced. You get assigned missions waaaaay above your capability to complete. Having to kill 100k powered bosses when your best ship is only ~10k? Oh wait, if you’re will to pay to win then it gets much easier. However, you’d probably have to spend a few hundred dollars to get close to that because the purchase values are pretty bad.
- Upgrading your ships is a nightmare because the required uncommon resources are nearly impossible to come by. Refining rates and success are a joke. Again, pay to bypass this again...
- So many glitches and apparently no attempts to fix. Lots of hacking going on too (just google it).
This is quite a shame since the game has massive potential, but unfortunate the greed of the developers are glaring. This game does not embrace the spirit of Star Trek, which is diplomacy and discovery. Instead it enables wallet warriors to bully others for whatever sick satisfaction they get out of it. Devs, if you read this, then you have to rebalance and rethink where this game is going because you’re not going to get many new player stick around..TastLikChiknVersion: 2.1
Cash grab. You will literally only progress to a level 15 before you are forced to pay.
Mining resources naturally will takes weeks and then you’ll have to be refined for common and uncommon ore, gas, and crystal.
It’s odds of getting uncommon(s) is what gets you. After one batch which will take you at least 5 days from mining to refinement you might get 4 and your will require 10x that to upgrade one of several systems on a ship.
This game sounds good on the cover, but the developer will only let you progress if you spend major money. It’s a complete joke and I’m hooked....
You will put months of play into this game and then you’ll hit a wall that will require $30.00 to get over. And that’s for just 1 of the 50 levels in the game.
If you have $1000.00 bucks kicking around to complete the game then go for it. If not take a pass..LeasonVersion: 1.7.3
Worst Dev’s Ever! The Game is not fun to play. It is full of game breaking glitches and bugs. It is a money grab. Total P2W garbage. An insult to the Star Trek franchise. At least with Star Trek Timelines the devs give compensation to players as appreciation for patiently waiting for bugs to be fixed. Customer support is insulting and demonstrate a lack of appreciation for the patience of their player base while waiting on bugs to be fixed. Many instances of lost progress with no compensation offered even for those who have spent real money. This is not a game, it is a rigged barely playable carnival level ripoff machine. The worst kind of mobile gameThis is one of those truly awful Pay to Win types of games. If you’re not willing to invest at least a thousand dollars or more into the game, don’t even bother playing. Every thing there is to do in the game is designed to frustrate you into spending money. Building onto your station? There are 40 or so station pieces for you to build and level up, something that takes upwards of 30 hours and a ridiculous amount of resources (which, of course, are very hard to get in game, requiring mining at a node for 20-30 hours, during which time someone will just come and destroy your ship, because there’s no way you can babysit that node for 30 hours).
And if you’ve actually managed to stockpile some resources at your base? Some “winner” who sunk a car payment into one of their special “paid” ships will come in with a single even levelled ship that somehow has more power than your entire station and steal everything you’ve spent months accumulating, with absolutely zero recourse.
Even their monthly participation track (some call it a season pass, some a battle pass, etc), which most companies charge $20 for the paid rewards is an insane cash grab that costs $130 in this game.
Seriously, don’t bother. You won’t find a worse game..Ka_baIVersion: M31.0.0

Scopley is more concerned about making a buck then having a fun functional game. Been through some horrible story arcs that when launched were so bug filled that it sucked the fun out of it, and the “compensation gifts” were a joke, to play expect to shell out what they consider a mere pittance but to me it’s crazy $100-500 a month, for packs that are supposed to make the game easier, but aren’t in any way beneficial to you or the game. I am not one to write bad reviews as there is enough negativity in the world. But this app has all age ranges as it is rated 12+. Some of the players are kind and considerate. Others are downright cruel…one in particular has sent numerous messages calling people awful names, and although the system screens for profanity it doesn’t catch the nuance of slang such as when someone tells a 12 yr old boy to “eat sausage you any player” well any 12 yr old knows that “any” was meant to be a different word. And blocking the remarks doesn’t stop the constant attacks by ignoring rules of engagement (ROE). Until remedies can be arranged to protect our kids this game should be avoided at all costs. Terrible GameThis game is not a good one. The focus of the developers is to bleed as much cash as they can. We are not talking about a dollar here and maybe two dollars there. How about 30 dollars here and 60 dollars there.
The game is fun when you first start playing. It does not cost anything during level 1 to 15. But after that your home base will be attacked by other players. The result of constant attacks by much higher level players attacking results in the compete loss of mined resources which took you days or weeks to accumulate.
The developer has a solution for this. You can buy these resources for big $. But beware, these other higher players will attack and steal those too. This game is completely unbalanced for game enjoyment. But rather balanced for the developer to take your money, and lots of it. You will grind constantly or you will SPEND LARGE AMOUNTS OF CASH in order to stay competitive….if thats your thing, then this game will provide a never ending way for your disposable income to go towards paying off your credit cards.
You will be blown up, have your resources stolen (remember all that grinding you did? Kiss it goodbye if you forget to keep sheilds up), you will get annoyed at rogue players breaking ROE.
You will struggle with the internal drama invoked upon the leadership of the Alliance you join
You will be frustrated with Infinite Incursions blah blah

Will Negatively Impact Mental HealthI am appalled by what I experienced in this game. I agree with all the earlier reviews. The bullying is incredibly rampant and Scopely does not care whatsoever.
The only way to advance is to grind/mine - sometimes for days depending on your level - or pay large sums of money. The same goes with ship-building. It took so long!
I observed there were poor players who couldn’t afford to play, and were going into debt. The rich ones did well though. There were players who were traumatized by the amount of bullying. I worried about their mental health and would check in with them. Alliance admirals were stressed from having to deal with RoE breaks or negotiating peace with some ego maniac. I didn’t envy their job. There were some players who were helpful and kind, but my questions did seem like a nuisance for them at times. I got that - they were there to play and not teach. So oftentimes I was left to figure things out, which took a lot of time and didn’t help the alliance.
The group chat can’t be turned off and because of that, you are exposed to nonstop volatile and immature behavior.
Scopely is purely capitalizing off the Star Trek theme. If they were truly committed to Star Trek, they would realize that what they created does not reflect its values. The game is cosmetically like Star Trek. That is about it. I suppose the missions and characters were interesting. But that won’t bring me back. I strongly recommend you move along to another game..NeighbyVersion: M65.0.1
Bullying not addressedGood graphics and concept, but Scopely just allows PoS bullies to run rampant and ruin the concept of the game for others who want to mine and do missions like the game is set up to do. There should be blocks where you can play your game invisibly to online bullies and stalkers who like to hunt people they have chosen NOT to like. 95% want to play the missions and game set up but the 5% doing the PvP bullying turn the game into a school yard bully session. Too bad Scopely is paying more attention to the 5% (online bullies) and not the 95% who actually want to enjoy the game. Recommend finding a different game to play unless you like being bullied.
In it’s latest attempt to be impressive, Scopely has enabled online bullying to an even higher level. Because they cannot be creative enough with all the various Star Trek shows and movies, the inept and unskilled Scopely team has created a war chest theme where bigger players get rewards for destroying/picking in smaller players. Wow, so bullying is bad everywhere except this narcissistic universe that Scopely has festered. I am a Star Trek fan. I support the many themes of tolerance that Gene tried to work into his shows. It’s a shame Scopely has flipped the middle finger to those ideals and rewarded bullying.
After almost 4 years, I can’t do it anymore. Used to be a fun game and Scopely has beaten it to a narcissistic pulp. The level of verbal diarrhea and bragging in the general chat for ruining someone else’s game is beyond comprehension. I’ll avoid any Scopely game because their answer to people complaining is….it’s a PvP game. No actually it doesn’t need to be but Scopely is lazy and unskilled and uncaring that way..Trekkie2020Version: M65.0.1
WAS a fun game now garbage!I’ve been playing this game for over a year now have actually made friends within the game that I have met in the real world.
This latest update has turned this game into a pay to play game. So unless you’re willing to doll out thousands of dollars, you don’t stand a chance. Scopely has completely ruined this game for most players and it turned it into nothing more than a player versus player, or better yet 15 or 20 players that dominate the game and dominate everybody else so that they cannot advance within the game. No options except to spend more money in order to be competitive. Complete and utter garbage.!!!.Rockstar_seanVersion: M65

Too much hate play that is encouraged by ScopelyScopely actively engages in hate play to psychologically manipulate players into a pay to win revenue generation model..PayasyougoVersion: M64.1
How does paramount let this go on?Everytime one of their much-too-long ads comes up on YouTube I cringe and a little bit of my fandom dies. They actively make me want to avoid the game and the IP.TheRatHole.caVersion: M64.1
Epitome of incompetenceThe company has a habit of putting new content behind paywall. And the game has reached to a point where it’s literally become pay to progress. Instead of fixing previous bugs and issues, the game just keeps out rolling new content, after promising players that they won’t do it.
All Scopely cares about is money. Players sentiment is at the worst and i really really wish this company dies and the game gets taken by another company.RaaaaaaaaaaaaajVersion: M64.1
Should be called Star Trek: freeze, crash and reloadThis game has a lot of playability issues. A typical day I have to reloading the game at least 30 times. The game itself has a lot of issues as well. PvP is built for paying players. The lower level players are at the mercy of the higher level players. Tiering when it comes to who can attack who is ridiculous. A level 45 player can attack a level 30 player. Which is like stepping on an ant. I would give this game 0 stars if it would let me..GlengimenVersion: M64.0.2
