Voice2026: After the Apple software update of ios26.2 and the Apple being the most rest update the voices changed and the voice that I used to listen to disappeared. I believed the voice was ‘Aaron - English’ looking at the high definition and standard versions the name wasn’t there, which I was disappointed with. When trying the 3 day free trial version, there wasn’t any voice option that I liked so I don’t think I would use the paid version after the trail ends.😓 2025: I have used this app for a year, so and I have never experienced this issue till today. When I listen to the text I had pasted and fast forward a few times it just stops speaking, I had to restart the app in order for it continue the reading 🥲. Never works right for meI have premium, and here are sone of my typical experiences: The pages are jumbled up and out of order; the bot reads html rather than text; pages disappear and, where there should be the converted page, there will instead be a little photo of the page I had taken; it suddenly stops allowing me to highlight. I’m not exaggerating when I say that the majority of the times I try to use Speechify, I encounter problems which make it pointless to continue using at that time. I typically just resort to reading the textbook. I’m looking for another text. Trying to use Speechify has really been a very frustrating experience for me..SeahrrnVersion: 2.16.1

Basically UselessYou can’t even “SAVE” a voice of any kind. It only works for one individual speech job at a time. So it isn’t “Saving” anything. They shouldn’t label it as “Save”, since it just really means “SELECT”. Before I wrote this review, I had reached out to the developer to make sure I was doing it properly. They confirmed, that their “SAVE” actually really means “SELECT”. Also, it took almost 2 weeks for the developer to reply to my email. That’s a long tine for someone charging such a premium price! AwfulMy English voice had an accent. This is not a racist/xenophobic angle I am taking as I am not a native speaker. English is my second language. However, the strange Eastern European-like accent the English setting has is almost incomprehensible and made the experience absolutely unenjoyable (this is not an attack on Eastern European people or their accented English). If I fluently speak English and I am able to identify this, I cannot imagine how much worse the rest of the languages are. Interesting idea poor executionThe app has a lot of premium features which is ok, But there is no obvious way to tell it where to start reading from. For example if you are on chapter 4 on the third paragraph you can simply touch where you want it to start. You have to use the scroll bar thing to get it kinda somewhat close. Bait and switchI downloaded this while looking for an app that can read ebooks out loud. This said it could go it so I thought I’d give it a try. But you can’t try anything. The App Store subscriptions doesn’t even list Speechbot as a subscription. Portugal is origin of this app which has a long history colonization of other countries and cultures. Very buggyA cool concept but seems like it is a scam: - you can’t actually select a premium voice. Selecting adds a checkbox, but you can select multiple premium voices and it never switches away from the selected standard quality voice. No matter what you do, it does not change voice to a premium one when you press save. Even though I am on a trial, the app forgot this and started prompting to subscribe (for 81% discount for four weeks). Even pressing restore purchase didn’t work. The channels feature is very cool.
