Bend: Stretching & Flexibility Positive Reviews

BEST STRETCHING APP!!I was having a really hard time staying motivated to stretch every day to get my splits, and my dance teacher recommended this app to me. It’s awesome because it really motivates you to stretch. It has a daily streak, and to keep up the streak, you have to do stretching every day, which is motivating. Plus the app is just motivating in general because it’s really fun to use. It’s really cool how you can tell it what specific areas you need to work on and what your focus is and it creates a whole entire custom routine for you. it has little timers for the routine, and after each stretch or when it’s time to move to the other side for that stretch, it plays a beeping noise and tells you on the screen, so it’s easy to tell when to move onto the next one. And you can share your routines to friends and try out each other’s routines! Plus, it shows you how to do each stretch with a person demonstrating the stretch as well as written directions underneath. This app is amazing, it helps me stretch every day!!.Version: 7.0.3

More updates and new features plzStill loving this app after a while but it gets repetitive sometimes and there are things that i feel like could be improved. i guess one of them is when you skip an exercise, it goes straight into it without a countdown—i need a couple seconds after pressing skip to get into the stretch. most importantly, just need more stretches and exercises (and whatever else they’re called—movements, etc) to pick from, please please please!!! even switching the kind of routine, the exercises are the same and im getting unmotivated because its becoming less fun and exciting. they dont have to be advanced or even established, just more! examples: headstand(that is advanced but just as an example), childs pose but with arms in the other direction like facing down, inch worms where you walk your arms out and then back up. Another thing that would be great is having more mobility sequences; you already have some good mobility exercises but maybe add some more —if you look up “mobility sequences,” there are many moves and they aren’t necessarily harder but there can be more advanced ones as well as easier ones. keep adding new things pleaseeeeeee..Version: 7.4.0

Helpful but needs a few more thingsThis app has helped me to slowly add/regain flexibility. It's probably helping me to manage pain too but that's harder to assess. I appreciate the picture guides, and the beeps are helpful as I move through the routines I know. As a busy person with young kids, the streak feature isn't so helpful for me. Life happens, and the all-or-nothing nature of streaks is that when they're broken, you return to zero. I would much rather set a goal like "stretch 25 out of 30 days". This is the biggest issue with the app for me. Streak nagging is why I quit Duolingo and I don't want this app to turn into that. Other wants: some kind of beep when the transition timer is done would be nice. Information about adjustments for stretches I can't do would be really helpful.i said I was a beginner, and some of the stuff still requires a higher degree of flexibility and fitness than I have right now. I've had to figure those out on my own. Dark mode would be a nice touch as well. And finally... pausing a routine shouldn't zero out the transition timer between stretches. Give me those seconds back!.Version: 5.9.2

Has the potential to be greatThis app, like many of the fitness/body wellness apps, has a solid foundation of having different programs that meet different needs — targeting certain body areas, time frames, etc., but there’s no guidance. For example, when you set up the app, it asks you a variety of questions to learn about you. But it doesn’t really structure a program tailored to you, where you currently are at in your wellness journey, or your needs. You click beginner, but in all of the programs you have five seconds to transition into the next pose/stretch with no auditory or visual guidance as to how to properly do that. It’ll give you five seconds to go from a back bending pose to a lunge pose. That doesn’t make sense nor is it healthy. They have a little button you can click on to read how to properly do a pose but you’d have to stop the timer so you can read without wasting the time you’re given to do the pose. That’s not effective, and one of the reasons I wouldn’t pay for this app. For beginners, and all levels really, it’s more efficient to be guided in a visual and auditory manner. That makes it more inclusive, mindful, effective and unique..Version: 5.5.0

Really helpful!I have really enjoyed this app’s feature to create custom routines. I used the AI feature to create several stretching routines for riding in the car during long road trips and breaks during road trips. I like the videos explaining the exercises. I feel really great. I can better track what I have completed. I wish there were a voice over for switching sides. I wish I could customize the time between each exercise in the routine instead of setting the same custom time for the whole routine. For example, it might take me 10 seconds to switch between standing and floor exercises, but it does not take 10 seconds to switch between neck exercises. I wish some of the exercises had two names to better show that they are the same exercise with two different names. For example, forearm extension and wrist extension II appear to be the same stretch. I wish there were some face, chin, finger, and toe stretches. Hand and finger strength is super important as you age..Version: 6.4.2

I buy it for the streakWell okay I lied that’s not the only reason. My favorite feature is it’s perfect and easy and gives so many options. And it’s only gunna get better. Bend Ai is awesome and I practically use it to create all my stretches… but the reason I titled it for the streak is cause that is the only reason I stretch everyday. I HAVE to save the streak. It’s a must. I need those BIG letters going and going and going. I got to 125 and I lost it but you know what my next streak is gunna be even higher and way more consistent BECAUSE THATS THE POINT. I’m telling you Bend is not only worth the money but the investment into yourself. If you wanna live longer you need to stretch. No better way than with this app and tracking your progress everyday for as long as you don’t lose or break your phone for 24 hours. So stop reading the reviews now and just do it and start stretching like you’ve said you were gunna do you blessed person have a great day❤️.Version: 6.4.2

It’s worth it. Invest in your health and well being.I thought I had pulled my calf muscle 1 mile into a 22 mile backpacking trip (luckily it got better after another couple of miles) and that’s when i realized I needed to stretch more because I wasn’t getting any younger. That if i have 5 minutes or 10 minutes i can just choose a stretch routine for whatever area i want and I don’t have to think about it. They have ones for when you’re sitting at your desk too. I like the streak feature… it makes me feel accomplished seeing the number of days tick up and you get a streak freeze after a week. They explain what each stretch is, you can make your own if you want or they have plenty of premade ones. They have dynamic stretches and exercises on the app too. Definitely worth the money if you do the annual subscription. My body is feeling so much better now that I’m stretching regularly. It’s important..Version: 6.0.2

Simple approaceh to movementWith recent additions of video (and a fix to keep your other audio going) I increase my appreciation of thsi app. I need to stretch more. I am not particularly athletic, but I am on my feet and moving every day all day. It's catalog of prepared sequences plus the ability to modify those or create your own to target areas seems great. I'm actually using it 4 to 5 times a week, which is huge since other health help based apps get used 4 to 5 times a month or year in some cases. I HAVE A FEATURE REQUEST- when making my own sequence, it would be great to set time between certain activities differently. going from ground activites to vertical activities takes me a second or 10 more some days (I know, my problem more than yours), but if I could adjust those times, I'd feel better about the whol ething. putting it out there. thatnks.Version: 6.0.9

Fine, but with pretty basic problemsI like the app just fine, but it doesn’t really seem to work as intended in a pretty fundamental way. The initial questions asked me if I had any sensitive joints/body areas (I have a bad knee) and my level (I selected beginner), so I assumed the routines would be customized to accommodate that. It also said I’d be notified/given a heads up for stretches that may aggravate my knee? But the very first routine I was given (a workout cooldown routine) gave me a quad stretch that I absolutely cannot do because of my knee (with no substitutions, warning, nothing) and plow pose, which is NOT a beginner posture. Isn’t customized routines that fit your level and limitations basically the entire point of this app? It also doesn’t track very well. I did a routine and then 4 minutes later got notified that to continue my streak I needed to do a routine; not a big deal but just kind of annoying. The stretches and timer are nice but I’m pretty bummed there was no free trial - I probably wouldn’t have purchased the yearly subscription..Version: 6.4.2

Some Stretching WishesEasy App - Love that I’m stretching my body and the reminder and the ability to create a stretching streak (have found that my BP is lower after stretching… things that would make it better (especially as someone who paid for the subscription)… if you received a badges or something similar (to entice, celebrate and create competition for yourself) it would also be awesome if it kept track of how many minutes of stretching you did per day (instead of just the fact that you did it) I would love to see a chart of sorts that shows Monday you completed 39 minutes of stretching - Tuesday 5 etc. additional stretching combos - there’s one for at the desk - would be great if there was one for when you’re a passenger in a car (for long drives) or one for when you are laying down. Hoping I continue to maintain my streak - but I can also see the potential of losing interest or getting bored with the app if there aren’t some user updates..Version: 6.2.1

Best UI! Needs to add a few more stretchesOf all the stretching apps out there, this one has the best UI/UX, and is therefore the only one I can see myself wanting to engage with daily. The options here are thoughtful and streamlined, and I’m finding that it’s more pleasurable to use without a lot of features clutter. There are a few more customizable features I’d like to see. I think the option to change the stretch times would be nice. I’d also like to see a bigger stretching library. Like, no squats?? Squat stretch is a classic! It should be in one of the core routines! Low bridge stretch, rear hand clasp and some other upper body stretches in general would be nice to incorporate as well. Maybe some dynamic stretches, too, which are a pretty important component of mobility. Some non-essential suggestions on my personal wishlist: I would really love to see the classic “starting stretching” sequence added here! And Kit Laughlin’s iconic daily 5 👀 although maybe that’s a little more niche (and possibly proprietary). A hip mobility/flexibility routine in general would be nice. As an incredibly lazy person who optimistically pursues an over ambitious stretching routine every 3 months and quickly gives up, I like that the routines are SHORT. 4-10 minutes is the sort of stretch I can psychologically commit to. Great app for maintaining mobility!.Version: 1.1.1

Decent but too many notifications and lacks more in depth contentGood video information on what the stretches look like but it’s so hidden under a tiny nondescript info icon - wth yall this good content expose it to the users! The routines are nice but I don’t feel like they are always tailored as well as they could be and I don’t know the names of some of the stretches if like to add to my routine always. The onboarding was quit long and felt a bit unnecessary. It’s gotta be like 25 screens? You need to do some uxr and pair this down it’s gotta be hurting your conversion rate. The output was not so tailored that you couldn’t have just got me where I needed to be in 5 screens and then tuned my routine over the first week of use through questions. I like being notified to continue the streak I set out to accomplish, and I enjoy how simple all of the UI around this and other elements are. Simple and not trying to overdo it - nice job. However, the notifications are way too frequent and not at all when I want them. If I say I want to stretch before bed don’t send me notifications about my streak at 11am. I’m not even in a space where I can do these stretches or would want to. I would say that I feel like my super discounted year price was fair, but still I don’t believe this app gives enough content that it deserves a subscription at the rate they charge..Version: 6.3.0

So goodI never write reviews and felt compelled to write one for this app. I took a chance on the one-time deal I was offered for a lifetime subscription, and I don’t regret it. The UI is really sleek and simple to navigate, yet the content is diverse and robust. You can quickly and easily find exactly the kind of stretch that you need. It’s made it so easy to incorporate stretching into my daily routine now. There are options for morning, office, before sleep, post-workout, and there are even some strength and ab exercises. You can choose a short stretch routine that is targeted to specific areas, or you can do longer full body routines. You can even build your own routine. I like that the app asks you about your skill level and areas of your body that are sensitive. For example, I have sensitive hips and wrists, so I don’t like stretches that put weight on those. So far, it hasn’t given me any exercises that do. While doing the stretches, you hear a short warning “beep” when the next stretch is going to start soon, and it shows a small visual preview of the next stretch to help you prepare to move into that position. As far as stats tracking, it’s again very simple but it’s all you need. It tracks your current streak and keeps record of your longest streak to date. It has a “bendometer” score that shows how consistent you’ve been over the last few weeks. I used to be extremely flexible when I was younger and have since lost so much of that in adulthood (working a desk job, having a baby, hitting 40, etc.). It’s been a dream of mine to regain that flexibility. I’ve tried yoga off and on but could never seem to develop a consistent habit because it felt like such a commitment. This app has helped me to make my flexibility goal so much smaller and more attainable by seamlessly incorporating flexibility into my daily routine rather that making it feel like a big event. And the simple UI supports that mindset. I’m already using the app first thing in the morning, after workouts, and before sleep. And I might start adding in a lunchtime stretch for workdays. Thanks for making such a great app. This is improving my life. ☮️.Version: 5.6.0

I am so GRATEFULI truly love this app. First off, the infrastructure itself is flawless and I’ve never experienced any frustration navigating the layout. Secondly, Bend’s targeted stretch series’ make tailoring your focus effortless. And most importantly, the effortless nature is applicable to participating in each sequence as well with its thorough written directions, the pause, skip, and repeat features, and the clear but non disruptive indicator sound signaling to switch sides or stretches. There is not a single thing about this app that I would change. I am truly so grateful for this app as it has allowed me to develop a more positive relationship with my body and moving it with intention and respect. DISCLAIMER: I know my language makes this review sound like a paid ad BUT I promise you that is due to my autism, NOT a financial incentive. I’m absolutely obsessed with Bend.Version: 6.4.3

Not quite a home run, more like a triple ⚾️All in all a pretty decent app but I have a few suggestions. I like the assortment of stretches to choose from and explanations on how to perform each but the timer in my opinion could use a little work. High priority for me would be adding a small chime or something at the beginning of each exercise. There are 3 beeps at the end of an exercise but there’s no beep letting you know when to start the next exercise, after your ‘delay’. I hate having to continually watch the screen to know when the next exercise begins. Maybe an option to turn off the vibrations feature would be nice too. Next maybe add some color to the sweeping bar timer, like green for when you’re doing an exercise and yellow for the delay timer phase. When my phone’s a few feet away, it’s hard to see the grey sweeping bar timer. Jazz it up a little with some color LOL. Also maybe a different delay timer would be nice. Like the ability to set 15 sec between exercises and 30 sec to transition to the next group of exercises. Lastly, I wish there was a specific ‘category’ or ‘type’ for ‘BALANCE’ exercises, in the create your own routine area. Some of us older population could use some help in fine tuning our balance. Well worth the subscription I think. Thanks and keep up the good work!.Version: 4.0.4

Great app! Could use a few improvements...All in all, this is a fantastic stretching app for beginners. I use this daily & it’s a very rewarding program with a well designed layout. However, there are some improvements I’d love to see in the future: 1) The ability to lengthen/shorten the amount of time you spend stretching. This one’s probably my biggest hang up. Some of the stretches are too short for my taste (they’re 30 seconds each) & I wish I was able to customize that. Adding an option to change how long you stay in a position for would be a game changer. 2) Being able to see the next movement during the countdown. If a teaser of the stretch popped up during the 3 second countdown, it would make transitioning from one position to the next smoother & more efficient. 3) Adding an option to automatically pause after each stretch. This is kind of a tag along to #2. Having the ability to pause & move to the next position would help immensely with getting a more effective stretch. Instead of wasting 5 of the 30 seconds getting into the next position, you could pause & hit go when you’re ready, using all of the time in the stretch. All in all, this really is a great app & I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an organized way to improve their flexibility..Version: 1.1.1

Great app! Could be better with Watch supportThis app is great! It makes it super easy to quickly get your stretching in every day. It has great prompts that beep when you get to the end of a stretch so that you’re ready to start the next one and even has a voice prompt that tells you what the next one is. It leverages animated cues to show you which stretch you’ll be doing and if you need more detail and guidance you can click the info button for a video of a human doing the stretch. My only suggestion is that Apple Watch support would make it better. If my watch would vibrate at the end of a stretch, and queue me up with a pic of the next stretch, it would keep me from having to move my phone around while I’m stretching. Seems like a natural and great application for the watch..Version: 6.1.4

Potential but could be betterI like that this app but it is just a general app that provides poses and time prompts. The app itself is pretty stagnant. Nothing changes. It’s the same regimens every day. I believe the developer should be able to switch up the different regimens within the app. Shoulders 1,2,3. Hips 1,2,3. Etc etc. Same exact exercises in the same exact order. No change. Just stagnant. Yes I could customize my own but then what would be the difference between that and printing out a few sheets of exercise sets? I suppose I don’t want to self customize, I want guidance which is what I thought this app would provide. What’s the point of paying for a subscription? The app simply isn’t dynamic in a meaningful way. So basically I’ve just cancelled the subscription which expires next year in the hope of some upgrades. I’m definitely willing to re-subscribe but I guess I’m just bored with the lack of variation..Version: 6.1.1

Great app, but needs enhancementsI’ve been using this app now for several months, and have definitely seen improvements in my body’s flexibility. I’ve recommended it to multiple people. But of course, improvements are needed. It would be a huge improvement if you would add the option for someone to talk through each of the stretches as you do them. Sometimes it’s difficult to interpret what the image is showing and what actually I need to do in the stretch. I realize you can tap in the option to read the dialogue about the stretch. But it would be much better for someone to talk through it while I’m doing it I also think since you have to pay to use this app, there should be updated stretches frequently. I haven’t seen anything changed since I spent the money on this. Most apps I use on a daily basis are free of charge.Version: 6.1.7

Added Requests on a Great AppAll things considered, this app does what it’s meant to do pretty well. As of writing, I’ve been using it for about 3 weeks to reclaim some mobility after an injury set me off training for a little while, and I have to say I’m thoroughly impressed by what Bend offers. In fact, the main reason I’m writing this review is because I love how this app is living out its potential, but a few (2) extra features would hands-down make it perfect. One feature is simply adding more exercises and stretching poses. Yoga has a large wellspring of both active and inactive movements, and I’ll admit I was initially a little disappointed with the selections available. Likewise, one category I wish there was more of was in the realm of ankle mobility and strengthening. Having more options to get more dynamic routines depending on people’s journeys would really make this app next level! The second feature, which admittedly is a bit more niche, is the option to break up workouts that work different sides of the body separately. Again, referencing yoga, there are flows in which you break up the position by focusing on the body facing one direction, then circling back around to face the other. It would be great to have an option when selecting workouts that split up like this to break them down into which side you’d want to do instead of just having to do them both back-to-back. That’s it though, those are the only improvements I could think to add. Otherwise, the routine building is pretty intuitive and the timer works. The UI/UX is pretty slick, and I never feel lost when I’m in the app. This is a well-made service, and I plan to keep using it for regaining and improving my mobility. Very solid product, great work guys!.Version: 6.0.1

Stupid Simple But WorksOverall a very solid app. Stretches are simple and well explained (little information button on each stretch if you don’t understand or don’t really feel the stretch). I’m a pretty fit person and honestly didn’t think it would do much but gave it a shot. One thing I’ve never been able to do is touch my toes without bending my legs (really not something I’ve needed to do or work on). After 8 straight days of doing it before bed I touched them tonight! The other major benefit I’ve found is I fall right asleep after. I’m sure there’s some science behind it but it’s the easiest I’ve fallen asleep in years. Great simple app that works if you’re consistent. I would love to see a new app or portion of the app that does more calisthenics and workout workouts as well..Version: 7.3.1

The cure for my back painI’m 48 years old and I’ve always maintain a healthy lifestyle. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve noticed that it’s harder to recover and my joints and muscles continue to ache a lot more than they used to. I injured my lower back from overworking it for a few days.I downloaded Bend and it was definitely the cure for my lower back injury. I was down for about two weeks and I started using the application and within about three weeks. I felt so much better after following a daily stretch routine and slowly getting myself back to normal. I continue my daily routine with this application and it’s definitely helped me feel better overall. If you’re over 40 and you’re not stretching regularly, this is a good place to start..Version: 6.1.0

It’s fine, lots of room for improvementIt’s fine - I saw a Memorial Day special to get a better price so I pulled the trigger, but now that I’ve been using it I would say that there’s just a lot that could be improved. Pros: I appreciate the curated routines, the UI is nice, there’s good variety in terms of targeted areas and the amount of time you want to spend. Cons: I just find actually using it for stretching quite clunky - there’s a picture and a written description, but I’m someone that I’ve learned really benefits from having a visual demonstration of how to get into a pose, how to execute a movement (even if it’s the difference between two pictures). Because I’m reading descriptions, I have to stop and pause and adjust… and I know that can be part of the learning curve with exercise apps, I just think this one is really lacking with not including demonstrations of the stretches..Version: 6.0.0

Life-Changing!I had ACL surgery three months ago. I was really struggling to get normal mobility back in my knee. The swelling would not decrease, even with icing and physical therapy. The constant tightness made it difficult to walk, bend and fully extend my leg. I had difficulty figuring out how to appropriately stretch. — I came across this app a little over a month ago on social media. The first day I tried it out, I did the short 5 minute stretch. I immediately felt a difference! I have been aiming for at least 20 minutes of stretching a day and it has definitely improved my mobility. The stretches on this app are very easy to follow and I love the ability to choose target areas, as well as stretches that are more “knee-friendly”. Huge thank you to the developers!!! 😊.Version: 5.0.1

UpdateThere is huge potential for this App 🫶🏻 The app needs a lot of updates/upgrade. It doesn’t tell you when the brake finishes before the exercise starts. It doesn’t state the name of the exercise you gotta do next, so you would prepare immediately for it but every time you have to look at the screen to see what’s going on to see when the break finishes to see when the exercise starts. Also, they put like just pictures for exercises. We live in 2024 at least you wanna put animate doing the exercise showing how the movement it’s being done correctly. Also, you can’t add or remove exercises from a training! In short, this app needs a lot of work to be good. It’s my physical therapy app to go to 🧘🏻‍♂️.Version: 6.1.1

Great but needs improvementI want to express how much I appreciate this app; it’s truly great, and I thoroughly enjoy using it. However, I believe there could be a valuable addition in the form of a survey or a similar feature. Such a tool could assess an individual’s flexibility and physical capabilities, determining which stretches are suitable or may not be advisable. Moreover, it could provide personalized recommendations on stretches to help users achieve their fitness goals more effectively. Despite this suggestion, I want to emphasize that I genuinely love using this app and find it incredibly useful in my daily routine. I use it frequently to stay on track with my goals and look forward to seeing further improvements in the future..Version: 4.1.3

Good simple app - flaws with Watch connectionI’ve used this app for a long time and really enjoy the features and aesthetic. The ability to connect with the Apple Watch is also great but it doesn’t seem to work consistently. When trying to do sessions using the watch app it will lag behind, and often the session on the watch will not end properly when all exercises are completed. It freezes up but continues tracking on the watch as if the session is still going, stuck on a random stretch and unable to cancel or close. I have had to go back and delete 12 hour long sessions from my Apple health data because of this issue. Great app and I will keep using but I have removed the watch version until there are improvements..Version: 6.5.2

Pretty GreatAwesome Yoga app, I’ve tried others and this one is definitely my favorite. Tons of premade routines which are great! There’s muscle group/area specific, there’s good routines to help you wake up, to help you fall asleep, all sorts of things. You can make custom routines, which is really handy. The only thing I would change is I would made it possible to adjust some of the premade routines, there’s one I use a lot but there’s two stretches on it that I would like to switch places, it would be easier to just switch them than making a custom routine even if I am basically just copying the premade one. Overall awesome app, helps to get a good stretch in, and that has made my days better every day!.Version: 6.5.2

Simple and EffectiveI used to struggle with stretching regularly because I’d spend too much time trying to think of my own routine or finding a yoga video that would match what I wanted. Bend takes the effort out of it and makes it easy to choose a routine each day based on what needs work. It’s all very customizable and you can even create your own routines. I only wish it had a larger library of routines to choose from to mix things up, and some tailored more specifically to certain sports (cyclists post-ride, post-gym, warm ups before each, etc.) But the timers keep my sessions succinct so I don’t spend too much time stretching but still finish feeling like I accomplished what I wanted. I highly recommend this app to everyone: we all need it!.Version: 7.3.2

ADHD excuse busterDo you lose interest quickly? Do you forget to do things daily? Are you easily distracted? Do you like rewards? Do you like instant results? Do you forget why you even wanted to start doing something? This app covers all those progress stopping habits. The features that cut through my ADHD are: my whole body feels better immediately even after one stretch so I am instantly rewarded; there is a live model showing exactly how to do each stretch so your perfection fetish is fed continuously; I love feeling being bossed by the app in a very low key way which is in the way they use the timer; there is no over stimulation; daily reminders to stretch; keeps tract of everything you do..Version: 6.3.0

Minimum for workoutsIt’s a great concept and I love the function and design of the app. Really aesthetically pleasing and the design is pretty user friendly. I also like having the ability to find diagrams and explanations for each pose. There is one thing that I really dislike about this, you can only do one routine a day. I understand the need for the subscription but maybe bring the minimum per day to 3-5 because I would like to do the wake up, sleep, and some of the other ones as warmups for my workout. It was really frustrating to go in and try to do the sleep routine only to find out that I had already reached my max for the day. Otherwise great, would just really appreciate the increase in the amount of workouts you can do a day..Version: 6.1.7

ThanksI have been suffering with shoulder, hip, and and feet pan. And i have been meaning to try to do something to relieve these symptoms. i’m still quite active and i can usually fight through the pain. but lately it’s been getting worse, I think because i am now retired and not as active as i had been while i was working. I just kept putting it off. then this app popped up on my screen, right after i just woke up and am going thru the painful morning routine of fighting through the pain and get moving. so it’s like this app popped up right at the perfect time. When i needed it. Thanks i’m going to try my best to keep this up and hopefully not have to resort to some form of pain pills. Thanks again..Version: 4.1.0

Update From Previous ReviewI’m writing in regards to an update. It is only fair that I do an update because I was able to talk with a representative and they assisted me with my issue and my concerns. The representative by the name of Anna came to the rescue. Gave me some tips and some pointers in my issue and my concerns were both resolved. That is a mark of good business and their values they have for their customers. I really appreciate what Anna did for me. I have been able to get some good work in since receiving feedback. So if you are interested in getting this app I highly recommend you do so because they have people like Anna who is willing to help their customers out like myself. Thanks again and God Bless! Customization, accountability, and movementIt’s so easy to say you’re going to commit to your own health. This app keeps me accountable and allows me to customize my journey. Some days I want to focus on gaining splits, or recovering from a workout, keeping my streak of stretching daily with a 5 min stretch, or a full body, etc. You can absolutely use a timer but stretching should be relaxing and you shouldn’t need to remember every stretch if you’re trying to unwind. I’ve had this for 6 months and sometimes I’ll stretch every day and sometimes weeks will go by without using the app. I love that you can customize your journey. For $3/month $40/year it commits you to putting yourself first. Totally worth it..Version: 6.1.4

Great beginner appI purchased the one year subscription at the reduced on sale rate because I am older, out of shape and needed guided exercises. I wanted to be more flexible to help with arthritis. It’s a no frills app with leveled flexibility and strength training (mostly yoga). You can build your own workouts as you progress but I’m happy with programmed activities. There’s no music or encouraging speaker. Just pictured exercises and timer with schedule for each day. Some complain about simplicity but I have found it refreshing. I don’t wish philosophical or physiological advice. I simply want a routine setup for me to maximize flexibility. I am happy with improving range of motion and ease of movement. If you looking for Pelaton Yoga, this isn’t it..Version: 6.1.0

Simplicity and flexibilityThis app makes stretching more convenient than video classes and more guided than doing it yourself. The simple timer with quiet “time to switch” beeps allows you to start a routine and flow, working seamlessly with any music you might have playing. The pose diagrams are simple but clear and you can quickly pause the countdown and get to a detailed explanation with simple video by just clicking on the picture. Setting up custom routines is relatively straightforward although they could clean up that process as it’s a bit glitchy. In general, it’s just a great little app that does what it’s supposed to and gets out of the way..Version: 7.4.0

Great except one thingI got this app thinking that it wouldn’t hurt to try it. This app has so many different stretch routines that can target specific issues or your entire body. The instructional videos show exactly how to do new stretches. Also the reminder widget is a great motivation to do stretches. The seated desk stretch felt amazing. I’m a week in and I’ve noticed I fall asleep quickly after the bedtime stretch instead of tossing and turning to get comfortable ish. I totally recommended this. Even my grandkids like doing these stretches. One thing that could be improved is the image size of the upcoming stretch needs to be bigger. I use my iPad, and still can’t see the image clearly without my glasses. There is plenty of room to make it bigger on the iPad app..Version: 7.5.1

Great app, but wish it wasn’t so expensive!I downloaded this app because I play 3 sports and have slowly been becoming less flexible, to strengthen my core a little, and to feel better overall. The free routine they give you has eight stretches and is a nice routine to get my morning going, but unfortunately it’s the only free routine. I’m debating just getting a subscription, but I wish they had at least one small free routine of stretches for each category of the body they have. I certainly recommend getting this app if you’re willing to pay that much for the subscription or you just want a little morning stretch routine. The app appears to have a lot of very nice stretching routines for all parts of the body and all levels of experience, but I don’t know if I can justify the purchase..Version: 5.5.0

Great app, but really needs a few tweaks / tech updates. This is an outstanding app with loads a terrific stretch routines and options for customizing routines. Users can set reminders and create stretch routines the meet their specific needs for various purposes and times of day. The main problem I have is that it doesn’t allow for stats to be tracked across multiple devices. The creators seem to think that we’re always going to use one device, so when I switch between three devices (iPhone, iPad Mini and full iPad - different locations, including travel, home and office) my stats reset. I’ve had lots of “1-Day” streaks, even without missing a day for weeks. Bad for an app that has a stated purpose of building consistency through motivation and ease of use. A second minor issue is that the app only allows one daily reminder. Again, the design doesn’t match the goal of getting users to stretch often, for various reasons. Finally, the screen won’t rotate, making an iPad with attached keyboard or stand awkward, unless you don’t have problems visually translating a 90-degree rotation while stretching. All this said, it’s better than most apps I’ve seen..Version: 4.0.0

Add intermediate poses please or a button to take pictures and add custom posesWould give 5 stars if you add at least 100 yoga poses. There’s some poses I would like to add to my routine but can’t which makes it difficult for me to do yoga at home by myself because of my ADHD. I have to remember what pose to do after a certain pose which makes it a bit of a challenge for me to complete my routine. I do love how easy it is to navigate the app. Please add more poses. Or at least add a button where I can take pictures and name and add my own custom poses please. That would help so many people who has to modify their poses to use like yoga blocks , straps and blosters due to like a injury or age..Version: 4.0.4

Best stretching appI share a subscription with my girlfriend. It’s only $5 a month, and it gets us everything we need. But that’s not the point. This app is very useful and important for me as a nighttime worker. Stretching everyday takes just a few minutes, I stopped doing it in elementary school, and after getting a week streak and being proud of myself… I noticed my back pain was so much more bearable. My knee constantly pops after being dislocated in a car accident, every time it bent it would pop. It hurt… but just the morning wake up stretch and the lower back stretch made my pain start to fade again. I recommend this app 100%..Version: 6.3.0

Simple and helpfulI really like the simple interface and the fact that it is focused only on stretching - with prebuilt routines, ability to create your own routines, and simple, easy-to-understand explanations and demonstrations for each stretch, this is the first app I’ve found that has helped me stay in the habit of stretching consistently. It would be nice to have more ways to view saved/favorites (i.e. a list to scroll down or gallery view), as the side scroll in a single line is a bit awkward if you have more than a few saved. But otherwise I enjoy using this app and enjoy its simplicity and will be continuing to use it daily!.Version: 5.9.2

Best Stretching App EverI work out 5-6 days a week. I’m not the best about stretching during the week, but stretch more Saturday and Sunday. I know the reason for me not stretching as much in the past is because I simply did not know what stretches I needed to do. What I like about this app is that it allows you to target specific areas and you can also take away stretches, increase, or decrease the stretch I love that this app allows me to do a quick five minute stretch during the week This app also allows more in-depth stretches on the weekend. I also love that the app takes the time to explain in great detail the stretch itself and also I love the voiceover.Version: 6.4.1

Feel some much better and more flexible after a month of useThe daily reminders and tracking are a big help! It is easy to use and I can already feel more flexible from using it daily. I am not as sore after working out since starting using bend. It keeps track of days used, this pushes me to use bend everyday to keep my streak going. I wish they had stretches focused on seniors because I would like to get this setup for my parents to use, as they have gotten older flexibility and mobility is a concern, I would like to be able to have them start some easier exercises and work their way up..Version: 5.0.4

Simple. Too simple?First, I just wanna say I’ve only been using this for two days. But as a beginner the very first thing I noticed is, there’s no audio prompts telling you what’s coming next or how to execute the stretch being done. If I find a feature that allows me to turn on some sort of narrative then I’ll adjust my review. For now I’m just happy to be moving and I think this app will be good for starting my days. Edit: first I found what I was looking for above. Simple instructions are there to get you familiar with the exercises. Gamification gets me to move every day. Can’t break that streak! Oh and I feel better doing it!.Version: 6.1.9

Love this app! *And one suggestion.I live in chronic pain and this app give me the option to choose short routines when my pain levels are high, making it much more likely I will do something instead of nothing (which makes things worse). I have one suggestion! Please have a buttocks routine. I’ve lost so much muscle mass in my lower, mid, and upper buttocks due to my chronic back and hip pain that it would be amazing to have a set of stretches and exercises where I could target this critical area. Those muscles support the back, and core and targeting them is important. Please consider adding the buttocks area to the options. Thanks! 🙏.Version: 5.9.2

CmtAs a woman 67 with cmt and losing flex ability at an alarming rate I’m hoping this will help me regain some of my flexibility so far I’m hopeful.Version: 3.2.2

GREAT for disabilities!I have ankylosing spondylitis and have had a few health boo-boos as a result. THINGS HURT! Other apps are a little too hard core. I am NOT looking to do the splits in 6 days! I AM looking to reduce my pain and increase my movement. I love how I can tailor the program. AND it is affordable…. AND I can play my tunes! That’s a big deal for me! WELL DONE, and THANK YOU!.Version: 3.2.0

Good for Paying CustomersIf you are willing to pay around $38 yearly or $6.49/month for an effective and sustainable stretching regimen, then this app is for you. Otherwise, scroll along. The quality of the stretches and the layout of the platform is actually really high quality. However, with regards to access for non-paying users, you don’t get to use any stretches other than the 5-minute “Wake Up” Stretch. Sadly, even that is limited to the length of a 7-day free trial. After that point, either you pay or you might as well delete the app, because without access to any stretches, it virtually useless..Version: 4.0.2

I watch version is terribleFor a paid app I was expecting more. My watch is my fitness coach, but in order to use this app you have to lug your phone around. The app can't or doean’t sync well with the countdown clock between the watch and phone. Nice interface but the app needs to fix the bugs..Version: 4.0.3

Bend yogaGreat start to the morning. You are directed on how long to hold a pose. It only takes 5 minutes, but makes you so much more flexible..Version: 4.0.4

10/10 recommendLove this app! It really truly fix my back/hip pain and do additional exercises to prevent future injury. Very easy to use with lots of options of premade routines App is aesthetically pleasing.Version: 7.6.0

Could be amazing. Just ok.While the app runs fine, has a nice interface, and a great selection of stretches there are just so many features it lacks on that makes it feel a bit underwhelming. Between stretches you get a few beeps indicating when to change movements but unless you are constantly watching the screen you don’t know what stretch comes next. It feels like a voice telling you both when to change and what to change to would be a small change but major upgrade to the overall use. There is an on selection of premade stretches and you have the option to change the length of each and even make your own routine but I was hoping there would be much more variety or even adding more weekly to keep things fresh. If I didn’t pay 23 bucks for this app I wouldn’t have written a review but since they now have my money I think letting them know how to improve is a good thing..Version: 6.0.2

Glitchy? This looks great I have checked out the trial - but - I’m trying to set up the monthly membership to try for a month, and no matter what even if I click on monthly it prompts an annual subscription. What can I do?.Version: 4.0.3

Great interface but needs improvementI love using this app, the UI is clean and easy to but when I create my own routine, all of the stretches available are not shown. Not sure why that is.. Other routines have the stretches shown, but the create your own routine doesn’t have the full library?.Version: 3.3.6

I recommend bend to literally everyoneBend is the best yoga app I’ve ever used! Genuinely, most others I deleted within a week, bend has stuck with me for a couple years now!!.Version: 7.6.0

Feeling bendyFeeling better after each session..Version: 7.6.0

Awesome little appShort simple routines and ability to modify the routine as I need it - longer for some poses, shorter for others. I love that I can create my own routine. I love the different focus areas- hips, neck, etc..Version: 7.6.0

My morning’s are getting betterA simple reminder started my journey, now after wake up I start my day with a large glass of water followed by 10 mins of stretching. This week, I have begun doing it before bed also. Small steps made every day will encourage change….Version: 7.6.0

I like this appI use it probably 2 years already, with pause of course, but still feel good impact!.Version: 7.6.0

Best app for stretchingPreviously I was never good at stretching and never enjoyed it . Now the app Bend keeps me motivated with great diversity of exercises that I can adapt according to my present training my time and my possible painful areas. It is a pleasure to do with background music: a great way to start and finish the day after 2 years of use..Version: 7.5.2

PremiumI like bend it gives great stretches and it helps but you need premium for the good things I just feel sometimes that’s I’m not getting enough as an athlete I wish it didn’t have premium so everything would be free.Version: 7.5.2

Fantastic!Very well made guided sessions - feels great! Easy to follow and the streak widget feature just keeps me hooked!.Version: 7.5.2

At homeHave been using this app for over 4 years and it allows me to keep fit and stretching like yoga exercises all at home..Version: 7.5.1

Great appThere are many different stretches ranging from static to dynamic which helps me pick a routine i feel is best for my body that day.Version: 7.5.1

Solid AppI love that It builds in streaks and has a lot of stretches to choose from. What I think could improve: some stretches are impossible for me to do, it would be great if there would be suggestions how to ramp up to those challenges.Version: 7.5.1

Needs musicNeeds music.Version: 7.5.1

ExcellentI love the simplicity of it. I don't need all the personality of a regular instructor. I wish there was something like this for lifting weights. I'm new to it and I just want something simple without all the music I just want to follow the instructions just like the Bend app. Do you have something like that?.Version: 7.5.1

Great App, good priceIt’s nice to have so many time options and the app reminders are really helpful for making me commit to daily stretching, which has in turn helped me commit to running more often. Good price too for the year thanks..Version: 7.5.1

Love itBest motivation I could ever have to start getting my stretching done daily. Love it :).Version: 7.5.1

Good stretching appReally good for stretching at the gym and keeps me accountable.Version: 7.3.2

Great app!Very cheap for the whole year, the stretches are super easy to follow!.Version: 7.3.2

So worth it!I don’t have to think about the stretches I will do, and the routines are way more thorough than I wouId do. I also love the simplicity of the platform (but that you can look for additional info on each stretch) and that I can listen to my own music. Love it all!.Version: 7.4.0

Love it!This is an incredible app- various levels and time options, affordable- I feel so much more flexible and have less pain when I use it daily!.Version: 7.4.0

Jättebra för stretching!Ett lätt sätt att komma ihåg att göra sin stretching varje dag. Och det finns olika kategorier så du kan fokusera på övningar för det du behöver..Version: 7.4.0

Genuinely A Life SaverI’ve never written a review for an app before but I felt I needed to share how great this app is. So simple yet such a game changer. I work a very physically demanding job and am often in a lot of pain. After just one week of using this app I was hooked, instantly improved my quality of life. Instead of spending my days off trying to recover enough to get through the next week I just spend a short amount of time on this app before and after work. Everything is already there, tuned exercises for what you want and a helpful explanation on how to do them, no thinking required after a long day. No more telling my wife I can’t cuddle because I’m in pain, no more wasting my weekends to recover my body, no more skipping to gym because I’m worried I’ll injure myself. Thank you Bend! I don’t like to pay for online subscriptions but this is definitely going to be an exception, especially for the great deal. Highly recommend to whoever is reading this!.Version: 7.4.0

Love it!!I absolutely love Bend! It makes it so easy to know which stretches need to be done and how to do them! And the streak definitely helps to stay on track.Version: 7.3.2

Great appGreat app Even though I got subscription through apple store, the app keeps asking me to create an account. It would be nice if apple id’s are recognized as accounts..Version: 7.3.2

BendThe ease and quickness to stretch targeted areas. Excellent instructions..Version: 7.3.2

AmazingGreat stretches would love some more mobility ones for weak hip flexors.Version: 7.3.1

👍🏻Bend keeps me motivated with the streak feature, there’s so many different stretches available. I generally feel better stretching everyday.Version: 7.3.1

Very easy to followVery easy to follow.Version: 7.2.2

Great appThis is an amazing app it would be 5 stars if you could do more than one stretching session at a time.Version: 7.3.1

Great to get in a new stretch routine! The quick guide to specific stretch routines. The reminders to bend and the option of a streak restore to keep motivation going and feel like your not losing a challenge when you miss a day.Version: 7.3.0
