Really enjoying MoisesI play electric bass guitar and I’ve found Moises very helpful for learning songs by isolating the bass track so I can make out each individual note. I also use the function that allows me to slow down the song to play along with, until I can play it at tempo. I download into the Moises app the purchased songs (from Apple Music) that I’m working on - it’s always been a smooth process and never had a problem yet over the six months I’ve been using the app. I often use it in conjunction with my Fender Micro Mustang headphone amp, which has Bluetooth and can connect with the phone or computer. I also have begun using the loop function to work on specific parts of songs, which I often do on the desktop version of the app (easier to navigate with a bigger screen). Finally, I’ve started using the app to help me organize into playlists the recordings I’ve made (using the voice memo app and uploading into Moises) during my bass lessons (recordings of my teacher for etudes I’m working on) or recordings of original music I’ve made with my band, so that I can play along with the recordings. Excellent all for learning and practiceFirst ever review of an app. Super impressed with it. Pros: The most valuable thing for more about this app is the ability to separate parts to hear more clearly. It has several flexible options to superstate the tracks you want to hear or just create whatever custom mix I want to download which is dope. The app can discover the key and BPM with more than fair consistency. Plus you can change the key of the song along with tempo adjustments. With the added ability to cycle/loop a section that you may need to practice is definitely useful. I have to say it does a wonderful job separating drums, vocals and bass guitar. Cons: I’ve found that sometimes the key signature/center is not always correct especially with modal jazz. I get that can even be hard for a human being so it’s not a deal breaker. The track separation can be better because it may mistake certain lower pitches for a bass guitar or it may clump horns and aux keys and sometimes guitar parts as a nondescript “other” track. It tends to mix up chords sometimes giving a false root although the note it gives maybe be part of the chord it may confuse things at times. Because of all this its only earned a 4 stars rating from me. However, Id easily rate this app 5 stars if some of these nit-picky things were addressed..MIDIsectionVersion: 2.58.0

Time saving game changer!I’m a bassist/vocalist who has a converted bass (turned it into a synth for multiple instruments) so I can record/perform as a one-man-band solo when my band isn’t performing. Prior to downloading the Moises app, I was learning each and every instrument on a track and then recording each track separately to recreate a cover song. With Moises I can simply pick and choose what instruments I’m playing and what instruments I’m just recording into the looper. It’s quick, easy, and fun. As a vocalist, I just cut out the vocals (and backing vocals) because I know I’ll never need them. Now I can hit the high notes that used to be difficult by dropping the key. Also, using the ACTUAL drum tracks from Moises rather than my drum pedal (which of course doesn’t have the nuances of a particular track) upgrades my performances. Seeing the tempo and key for each track in my list also helps me change things up throughout the set. Finally, I use Moises as a practice app for my band. I simply load in my songs, turn off the bass and backing vocals (where applicable) and I am good to go. One of the best tools I have! 🎶.Pk08069Version: 2.114.0

Better than then anything else I could find so farThis app has been great. I’m a beginner so I’m mostly just flailing on my drums to songs I know and it’s perfect so far. Only reason for not having 5 stars is it crashes unbelievably often and there’s just simple quality-of-life improvements that would make this so much better. I have almost 20,000 songs to sort through and it would make a tremendous difference if I could sort through my library bands, it would also minimize load times. Another huge addition would be the ability to que songs from the list and stay on the same page instead of being forced to go to the App Library every time you download a song. For the crashing situation, I’m on an iPhone 12 Pro Max, nothing else running in the background, full power cycle and ran with and without wi-fi. Edit-changed my review to a 5-star. Great Features, But a Huge Barrier for Aspiring MusiciansThis app is truly impressive in terms of functionality and user experience. Haven’t Experienced Anything Like It!I’ve been using this app before famous YouTubing drummers did reviews on it. I have not experienced anything as incredible as this app. It’s my daily go-to music app for removing different instruments out of the mix. Although the vocal/instrumental may not be perfect for some songs, it really gets the job done and that’s 5 stars in my book. Very easy to use, although I had some issues regarding signing into the app because I had a songs processed with a free account and songs processed with an upgraded account, but I believe there has been an update because I haven’t experienced any issues regarding this problem lately. Another thing with this app is that you have to have data or WiFi connection. The app offers a metronome, count-in, tempo changing, pitch changing, and a really cool feature that includes chord detection of the part of the song that you’re on. Best $40 I’ve spentIf you’re a guitarist like me - who learned by himself and plays by himself - doesn’t really jam or have a band or really know other musicians - this is the app for you. First of all - being able to take songs I love and load them in and quickly have the chords handed to me and immediately be able to take over as lead or rhythm guitar is awesome. It makes it so much easier to fit into my favorite songs and still be able to be creative instead of playing in space that isn’t there or just being sort of loud and obnoxious 2nd - if you’re also at a stage where you’re trying to learn scales or trying to learn to change scales within a chord progression I.e. A major pent to D min etc. this is fantastic. Go into the record function - put down a few bars of the key you’re looking for or the progression you want - throw it in the app. Boom - it’ll trim the fat for the most part and you can just start looping that right on your phone in like 30 seconds and jam over it. 3rd - want to work on your ear training? Trying to dissect that Jerry Garcia solo but can’t quite here it over the cacophony of 12 other instruments? Well cut through it and leave yourself with just the lead or chords or whatever. It’s transcribing on easy which if you’re like me is much appreciated help. I love it. For what it is, the quality of the tracks with removed instruments is fantastic. This app is amazing!!!Sometimes, when looking at a painting, you can isolate the individual elements. You can see each subject, the background, each individual brushstroke. But you could never really do that with music— it’s just one wave of frequencies that hit your ears. Until now. Moises harnesses the power of AI to separate the individual instruments, each part of music, into their own separate tracks. It’s truly amazing technology, that I highly recommend it to anyone who likes music. Indeed, it’s helping me learn more about how music works than any music theory class I’ve taken so far. My only issue is you have to get a subscription to fully use the service (I am so tired of passing on really cool apps because I have to pay a monthly subscription) but this time I made an exception. Wish I bought this a long time agoThis is amazing! I am a music producer, mostly use Ableton Live on my laptop. I’ve been producing for 9 years now. I use MixedinKey and RX7, some much more expensive programs. To my ears, using AirPod Pros, and I test out many different audio outputs, this software was able to cleanly separate different sections of audio. I only did 2 songs so far but am blown away at how powerful this app is. The first song I tested was an indie singer/songwriter type of melodic song that has a drum beat and acoustic guitar and singer “Anytime I Go” by Aaron Espe. I was able to use this to send a fairly clean acapella to my Dropbox to edit on my computer later (get it even cleaner with some audio processing and gates). The second song I chose was a trap beat called Uppers by Mr. Carmack & Stooki Sound. I chose it because it has more clean bass than most songs I know. Unbelievably Good!I rarely give reviews for anything so when I do it’s because it’s either really really good or really really bad. This app is quite possibly the best thing I have ever come across. Not just the app but the server side software (and the AI / algorithms used) along with the website. I am normally VERY reluctant to have to pay for subscriptions. I usually delete software that goes that route (with the exception of anti-virus anti-malware and the occasional MMORPG and even then I find it painful. You won’t normally hear me say this - THIS IS WORTH IT!!! In fact I think it’s a bargain for how amazing this is. I’m a (non-professional) musician since my mid-teens (now 58). My main passions are drumming and singing with some occasional guitar and song writing. This app and service has saved me the time, trouble and even cost of trying to find stripped versions of songs I drum and sing to. I have a large (legitimately paid for) song library and this is perfect. Before I would spend hours looking for what I wanted and often some of my very favorites simply didn’t exist and would require paying a service for it (if they could even do it). Now I have every song that I could not find before available (at least everything I’ve tried so far). I am completely astounded!!! All of the features added in are crazy good too! The countdown and metronome work fantastically well. Seriously, finding this has made me very happy in a world where hidden gems like this are getting increasingly rare and usually turn out to have hidden ‘downsides’. Not so with this app. It does what it says EXTREMELY well. I and not paid or affiliated with these folks to come here and says all of this. This is for real! Hopefully their support team can help…For almost a year this was a five star app in my opinion but as of two days ago the screen view on my iPad is stuck on landscape, but with the simple layout of an iPhone’s portrait mode. There are no tools in the settings/profiles to make screen adjustments. The basics of the app work fine but not having my songs show up in the sidebar window when the iPad is on its stand by my kit has made it really clunky to use. On Tuesdays it was god’s gift to this drummer, by Friday I’m going nuts trying to figure out why this happened. I have a ticket started and hope too revise this to 5 stars once it’s back up and running right again. As of 7/25, everything has been fixed by recent upgrades and I still love this app to death! Why Moises is second to noneI’ve been using this app over 2 yrs the last I became a premium member best move I ever did as a drummer it is the best practice and teaching tool I wish this was around 45yrs ago when I started I have a lot of original work recorded and since the passing of my singer and gtr player I thought I would never be able to perform those songs again, live or with my band mates while I was highly mistaken with the Moises app I’m able to pull her tracks out and me and my bass player right along to our original music plus as a drummer and trying to plan cover band with ship just doesn’t cut it for me to become a professional app, I’ll be able to go performed by myself and play covers and original music by I recommend spending the 40 dollars a year and get the premium membership as far as I’m concerned, this is the best app ever, cross this is a must for drummers and music teachers.GIANNI GUNNVersion: 2.6.0

Makes mastering a song simpleI’ve been trying to figure out some type of way I could make tracks that I already have made a finished version of those tracks for some reason, I cannot get the sound I’m looking for on GarageBand and for some reason it’s much too complicated for me too as I don’t know much about actual music, but I do know that I know how to sing and even that was difficult for me because I really wanted my vocals to shine and I didn’t just want the music behind my vocals to be so much so I downloaded this app and it’s the first time I’ve seen something that made it simple and easy to understand for someone like me like I said that doesn’t understand much about music. Incredible isolation of instruments!I just found this app by perusing Internet for a better way to isolate instruments. I have tried other apps - free and paid - but didn’t give me as many features as I would like, or work the way as described. One popular program I use works well for NEW songs only. I was looking for a way to practice ANY song - new or not so knew, hymns or contemporary, 1950’s up to today’s releases. Looks like I found it in Moises! I can listen to bass, piano, and take our the vocals. Or make them louder! I can save, download, and share. I can change the key, add metronome, speed it up. And all for a free on the trial. Awesome App!!Being a musician (drummer) and finding a way to practice ALONG with the song while giving you that full band experience is great!! Being able to download individual tracks and adjust the volume as well is also a bonus!! Ability to change the keys and adjust the tempo is always a blessing on anything however the fact that it’s learning to spell out the chords in the songs is very impressive. I would love to see an option to split potentially more tracks or a better variety of separations would be nice as well. Also if there was a way for it to learn where the loop should go would be dope as well. It’s nice that it loops the entire song but if it could loop at a spot that wasn’t “off” of the music or interrupting to the flow that would be cold!!!!! However I am very impressed with this App!! Please Please Please Fix the Crashing issue.I’ve been using this app for a almost a couple years now. It crashes at least 10 times per use. It crashes at certain points during certain songs, or when I try to add to an album, or listen to songs from an album. It’s a bit frustrating when I’m investing money in this app only for it to turn around and crash inconveniently. I’ve paid a lot for this app to use it over the years and it’s been excellent other than this constant crashing situation. Edit: I updated the app, hoping that it would fix the bugs, but now it’s even worse. I can’t get 10 seconds into any song without the app crashing. I have an older phone (iPhone 11 Pro Max) but no other apps have problems like this one, and my phone is compatible. I’ll have to unsubscribe so I’m not continuing to pay for literally nothing. Good but premium thing is notSo i’ve been using moises for a couple weeks now, and i’ve realized that you need premium to download more than 5 songs. This kinda annoys me because I send people beats and I don’t want to be paying to send someone beats for music videos. I understand it’s a business thing and gets the developers more money but I just don’t really like this feature. I’ve constantly had to make my own beats on my computer because I can’t get premium when I can be doing it way easier on Moises. Overall I feel like premium should still be a feature because it could provide the creators more money, but I do think You should be able to do 10 songs instead of 5 before having to upgrade to premium. The Working Musicians #1 Practice ToolAs a working drummer this app is my go to for learning and working on songs. I have the paid version and it’s absolutely paid for itself already not only monetarily but also in my confidence in knowing a song before stepping into a practice setting or onto a stage for a sub-in gig. I can take the drums out of any song I want, provided I purchase and own them (iTunes is my go-to). I have only run into minor issues importing a song every now and then, if I let the app sit for a bit and restart it will import the problem song without issue (as long as it is purchased and owned legally by the user). There has yet to be a song that I bought on iTunes I could not import even if initially it would not let me do it. There is also the ability to add a click to any track and make set lists (however the “count in” click is not always in time with the bpm of the actual track. It is notable that when removing instruments from a song you keep pretty dang close to studio quality of the remaining instruments so it is extremely easy to listen to bass lines and lead guitar parts without any background noise. Totally amazing, and for an amazing priceAs a future musician/music producer, I have always wanted to have this available to me, however multitracks and editing songs and such things are only limited to computer but here, I can change the key of the song, choose to have vocals only, bass/guitar/strings only, drums only, keys only, etc. and I have had a lot of fun over the past few months with this app. I would recommend it if you’re like me and want to mess around with music and manipulate it somehow even if it’s something as simple as muting the drums/percussion. One feature I wish was added however, and if this is not yet doable that’s totally alright, is to change major songs to a minor mode and vice versa. Absolute love this app but I have just one questionI’ve been using Moises for almost a year now to listen to my favorites songs and I gotta say that it’s been a blast. However only being able to upload 5 songs once a month can be a bit of a bore to wait for. I’ve been considering to upgrade to Premium so I can have unlimited uploads along with accessibility to more of the app’s features. And that leads to my question: If I were to upload a song while subscribed to Premium and then at any point in time if I were to cancel my subscription, would I keep my uploads or will they be discarded unless I keep the subscription or until I re-subscribe? SUGGEST FOR HEADPHONESI really suggest for headphones if you bored in the car or anything just the only thing I don’t like is that you can really mix and edit you songs along at once so I have found a solution that you just keep on screen recording and then outtting into the app. But otherwise this app is great and I love listening to music so it is really good and it also says what level you can go on and I’m in the beginner and it showed you all of the steps which on most games is boring but it actually was fun I am on a 20 hour car trip and have used this for 3 hours so far and showing my friends what I have just created but maybe you thing I might be a robot or whatever but I’m actually not I’m in Georgia and I am listening to all of the songs I made in the car and I love this app and that final.JaksbdjkaVersion: 2.3.0

Sing like a pro.I’ve been using this program for about two weeks now and I absolutely love it. I can take the songs that I’m singing and put them into this Moises engine and it removes lyrics from the song whether it be the chorus or the main vocal. In other words, you can still have a background track of singing going on while you’re singing the main track. I find this the perfect music practice app as well as you can also lower the key to get to a register that is more tailored to your voice. It can also literally slow down or speed up the the tempo of thensong your singing. It will also audio record or video record you singing in app so you can know where your strong points are and weak points. Second change, after you put a song through the Moises app the application will listen to the song’s words and provide the lyrics to what was is sung. It works about 95% of the time but the other 5%, it makes its best guess as to what the words are. But you obviously know what the words are so as the singer you should be able to go in and edit those words to be corrected. I played guitar, keyboards & percussion as a member of Santana for five years, wrote 15 songs and recorded as well as toured! Worth every pennyAfter using the free version for months, and even that deserves 5 stars, I upgraded via desktop (not sure why desktop is cheaper than mobile) but this app does everything I need whether it be for helping my cover band with backing tracks for their parts or for performing solo with the tracks back on me up this app does everything. If I were to add any features I’d add the ability to pick what instruments I want separated vs a pre-selected set (vocals, backing vocals, guitar, bass, drums etc etc) and the chord display to stay native to e standard when I put the music in e flat. Like even tho the chord being played by the app is now a B, it’d be awesome if it still displayed it as a C chord so I didn’t have to think about moving it up a fret. Awesome music reference utility powerhouse!It’s like having iZotope RX ($1,200 software) music rebalance tool in your pocket for free. It takes all of the tools musicians like to use to practice and break down music and puts them together in one easy to use apps! Getting all of the information you need about a song, and creating your own mix to play along with right on your phone makes jamming and practicing so much more practical than needing to create a new version of the song every time. Either in some expensive software or online service. Being able to just change something about my musics playback on a whim instantly allows me to stay in the creative flow, and lets me execute a vision in real time. Love this app, but…App is amazing and I use it most of the day even when I’m not at the kit. I would absolutely use Moises way more if not for a few issues I’ve encountered. I frequently change audio output throughout the day and for some reason it seems like there’s maybe a bug to where you lose audio and I have to force close the app to reset the audio output and then it works as it should until you force close the app, then change audio output, then restart the app. Just a headache sometimes and I’m sure it’ll get fixed. I don’t know where to beginIt’s an amazing app. I was listening to songs one day trying to listen to the guitar only but it was hard. So I ran it through Moises and now I can switch between instrument volume and separation, chords, lyrics sometimes, and you can switch the key of the song. Amazing! I have the premium! I highly recommend this app! Although there are some minor issues and glitches in certain songs I play. One day I was listening to a song on there and it started Speeding up, glitching and making static noise occasionally. I would recommend you separate the song into 4 tracks first before you add more tracks. And I could only screen record on my phone. Great so farI downloaded the app to take some iTunes tracks and split the vocals out, so I could record my own vocals with my Audigo mic. I need to send them for audition. The free version has been great so far and very intuitive to use. I had to purchase the songs on iTunes but I am more than ok with that. It made it very easy to add the songs and split them! I was able to do all from my phone. I would upgrade but the prices were more than I could afford at the moment. However, the ability to add the lyrics is a nice feature for karaoke for example. One of my fav apps EXCEPT one issueYou’ve GOT to fix the “play all songs” component. It rarely works with any consistency. I have 200+ songs uploaded on my premium account and it is INFURIATING to have to go back to my phone and to this app after EVERY SONG in order to pick the next song to play because otherwise it just sits there silent often while I can see the next song “playing” but there’s no sound. When it gets like that, I have to quit the app and try it again for the “play all” to work and when it does, it’s only for a few songs before it starts the whole “app shows the song playing but there’s no sound”. Great practice toolThis is one of the greatest practice tools for any musician to learn any recorded music. Playing along to a recording is great but this steps it up to the next level by isolating what you want to hear. As a lead guitarist it’s great for working on timing tone and execution by not having your mistakes covered up by another guitar player. The pitch changer is pretty cool too. My only complaint is the phasing/washing effect that occurs when frequencies bleed from a track that is supposed to be muted, but hey it’s still awesome. I’m sure a lot of these problems will be fine tuned as the app develops. This is a tool that I really wished I’d had when I first started playing 35 years ago…. The perfect musician companionRegardless if you’re trying create backtracks for your cover band, your original band or simply trying to isolate one particular instrument so you can learn that part, Moises does a great job separating the instruments. It’s not perfect if you compare to a DAW session, but if you put in perspective and think that this is all happens through a powerful AI feature and even more impressively, on you phone, well it’s hard to beat that. If can be a little pricey if you don’t use much, but it’s definitely the best option in the market if you’re looking to creating the best tracks. Audacity, simplified. Perfect for vocal covers!I’m actually quite surprised about how well this can take away the vocal section of certain songs. However, much like trying to remove the vocals from songs, through Audacity, there will be little hints of some volume changes and minor alteration in overall quality, in certain sections of a song that contained vocals. Therefore, you wouldn’t quite have the studio quality mix of the song, due to the reduction of the vocals, or any other sections of the song. Regardless, it’s good enough for practice or recording covers. Free Is Always a WinBeen using Moises for quite a while and it’s honestly amazing. If you’re a music nut and you’re very particular about importing an audio recording so you can cut the vocals out of the song, but you can still hear background noises, that’s because it’s the entire song being messed with and not just the vocals individually like if you were to use a high quality app. But if you’re just trying to make a ringtone out of a song and wanna change some things around and don’t need it to be perfect, for example, then this app does a good job. A musician’s best friend and nothing short of amazingI use this program for teaching music - it’s an instant karaoke maker, it’ll create isolated tracks that are extremely helpful. The isolation of drums has artifacts that makes it sound phased and underwater and certainly not nearly as clear as an the actual isolated studio drum track - but it’s very cool nonetheless. I had a live recording of my band that was very drum heavy and the guitar was far too quiet - with Moises I was able to remaster it and change the mix, bring the guitar up, lower the kit and overall balance the performance, which is fantastic. Great app, horrible practices/policiesMusicians have to be able to isolate instruments sonically to be able to learn the parts and verbiage of music. The new generation of musician has unpredictable access to material and to apps - yet the legalities and protections music has are cumbersome and prohibitive to some who need to be able to use streamed music to pursue their musical education. Using streamed music for education falls under fair use - music can be used for the purposes of critique and education among other things. There are other apps that allow the isolation and slowing down of STREAMED music. Suggesting otherwise is factually incorrect. Claiming you are the musicians app should mean you understand how fair use works and utilize it in your future app development. I’ll continue to use other apps with less sophisticated features and lower quality in an effort to learn and transcribe music by slowing and isolating stems. Hopefully future editions of this app will allow for stem separation and slow down of streaming music… The majority of people don’t own music. The paradigm shifted toward paying for its use. Awful, Frustrating AppThis app is a huge fail. I have a large Apple Music/iTunes library and of the thousands of songs, only three show up as available to transfer to Moises. I've given this app over 24 hours to sync up, and even though my iOS version and this app's latest version are up-to-date, it still doesn't work. The ironic thing is that I have to wait another 24 hours until the payment is processed before I can even request a refund. I wish iTunes would eliminate junk like this from the store so that people don't have to waste their time. Lastly, I went to the homepage of the developer's website and that was requiring me to sign in with one of my email identities to even put in a troubleshooting ticket. Worst service I’ve ever received!This is now the second time the app has broken. First time was a week after I paid for the subscription. The export didn’t work. I emailed them and it took 3 days for a response just so the could tell me they would sent to their tech support. That then took another 2 days. 5 days is not acceptable when I’m using the app to post to social media numerous times a day for the algorithm. Anyway, it is what it is so I continued to use it. A few months later, the same issue again, the export doesn’t work. I emailed them twice on a Monday. No response until Saturday even after I emailed them other times as well. Then the response I get is they are backed up and someone will for sure respond Monday. It’s now Tuesday and not one person has reached out. 8 days and counting and I still can’t use the app that I paid for in tech-support still has not responded nor reached out. Not sure what makes for a winner here...First, fyi, this program requires an internet connection as the actual work is done Moises' computers, not your device so offline use isn't possible, as the developers say typical user-devices won't do the job. Unfortunately my very simple test resulted in a poor result. I input a simple mp3 of a Joe Cartoon from around 2003, "Lament for Toad." It is a simple blues call-and-response vocal and harmonica (Key D, second position) where there is NO overlap of vocals and the single harp. The basic 2-channel option got a little over half of it correct, but put a good bit of the harp into the vocal track. If it couldn't get that right then I don't think Moises would do very well displaying even the simple chords in this case, and I'm not going to pay to test that. (Chord guesses by Moises requires a paid plan.) Obviously a lot of other people have success with this but I don't see how. This should have been as simple a test as they come..JeWTVersion: 2.73.0

Irritating glitchesHonestly it’s rather late at night when I’m writing this, so I’ll cut to the chase- I don’t have premium but I tried to take the music away from the same video 5+ times because it kept making an error. The video always ends up with no sound at all on this app and it’s just very annoying. I ended up having to use so many different accounts because of this one video always glitching!! I tried to crop the video, make different copies of it, and other things but nothing will work! The apps just broken for me. Great potential for some applicationsI was so excited about trying this app! The possibility of deconstructing the different tracks of a song offers so many possibilities for production of new mixes and instrumentalists. For my use case, it just didn’t live up to the hype. I’m a string musician (cello), and I was hoping to strip the solo instrument to leave only the accompaniment (such as piano, other strings, and/or electronic effects). Ideally, I would love to have the solo instrument track for tempo and pitch focused practice and the accompaniment track for performance. In reality, only 2 tracks were populated (strings and all others) and neither was clean. The strings track had acceptable levels of contamination, but was missing the instrument in some areas. Maybe because the pitch range was so extreme? The accomplishment track was pretty useless. The solo was muffled, but still prominent. Dont buy this they’re ripping you off!!!I bought this app about a year ago and it was fantastic! It was not only very well priced at just 7 bucks a month it worked great and gave me high quality results. But recently they got greedy and decided to scam not only existing users but new customers as well.
