HitMeal Calorie & Food Tracker Positive Reviews

5 star app. 1 star support.I have the full paid for app and have been using the app for a few months now and track everything all day everyday. This app has been a huge help and big eye opener but the owners need to do a few things different and get some updates going. 1. Make the calculator where you can change your parameters to your own needs and not just some randomness they decide. I bought the subscription so I could and you can’t. 2. There are tons of new foods coming out all the time and there are some that are just nonexistent on the app but other apps have them. New or old. It goes both ways. 3. Smaller brands/Stores/Gas stations. There’s a lot of different places to shop and some of other places are no where to be found on the app. Big gas station names like Casey’s should be there. They have their own stuff and sometimes these stores have special sizes and macros that aren’t there. 4. Fast food places like subway and or a few others really need to be updated and added to. I’m sure tons of people are using subway and others to get by sometimes and it would be great if you could just type in ANYTHING you got and not have to add a new food and go off a menu online until you get everything saved and tracked..Version: 1.33

Love it!This app is the best of its kind, the interface is simple and beautiful. I can track weight, water, and macros on top of calories, which has a nice time graph for all. Love it! Great barcode scanner, and entering food is quick, exactly how it’s needed. I love tracking my food I used to write it in my notes. If I can make two suggestions to developers, I mean no offense… when I add new food, I wish there was a way that I could combine my foods I had scanned to create one food. For example, I drink the same chia seed smoothie several times a week, and to be accurate I have all ingredients separated out. Well each time I track it, I have to find each ingredient in my favorites and add. When I press the plus button, the screen scrolls up to the top, and then I have to scroll back down again to that area (which can be a long list). If there was a way to make this a custom food that I can add all the ingredients together that I scanned, or, if that list didn’t scroll to the top when pressing the plus… 👌👌👌 Just in case you are taking user suggestions :) Great app, very beautifully designed, does exactly what it’s supposed to do and very efficiently!.Version: 1.27

Recipe feature disappointingI have the premium version. Adding recipes is a huge hassle. Often the ingredient I want to add does have the conversion it actually needs. For example 1 tablespoon orange juice for my own Koulourakia recipe had to be converted to oz. Some things convert to something like .3333 or a decimal like that. It’s an extremely unpleasant process. It should be easy to add recipes or what’s the point of the add recipe feature? Some of the recipes are simply not good either. For example when I tried to make anpork and peanut sauce recipe. I am a very precise cook so I know I did it correctly. The coleslaw was sour. It made me gag it was so disgusting and I had to improvise and make a whole new recipe. I wasted a lot of food too and it was really heartbreaking. I don’t like sweet foods or sugar but I would expect something edible from a recipe collection I paid for. Please please: 1. Fix the recipe feature to use any unit of measurements I would like 2. actually taste the recipes you’re publishing on the app. Some are really terrible! Also some of the foods are ridiculous. Like salmon and avocado. Though that’s not too bad price wise, Some of them the stuff is crazy expensive. Not everyone has the time, money, or ability to be making super complicated meals - which is why some people might have gotten the app and why I did as well. If it’s an app only for rich people it’s so disappointing that wasn’t advertised before I paid. If you’re here for tasty, affordable, and healthy recipes I’m afraid you have come to the WRONG place..Version: 1.36

Very good app!I was recently diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes at age 67. So of course now I have to really watch what I eat. Went through a TON of food apps till I found HitMeal! This is perfect for my situation. Not complicated at all! So many other apps try to cram TOO much data in. Keeps track of the macros that I need to keep an eye on. (Might be a little better if it also kept track of sugar, hint, hint?) Huge food database and super easy to enter custom foods. Pushes me on my water intake. Also can customize the daily meal macros to match what your Dr recommends. Only thing I really don’t use is the weight portion as I use another app for that that has a little more in depth analysis. Meal idea section. Of course, your mileage may vary but for me this app is perfect. Overall 5 star rating!!.Version: 1.30

Good But…This app is easy to use. There’s a good amount of food already in the system for barcode scanning, and I can take pictures of my own foods if entering a new one. I can save favorite foods that I eat often so they’re easy to add and I don’t have to scan a barcode every time I eat something. A lot to like, HOWEVER, it drove me absolutely insane that their units of measurement are non-comprehensive. If adding my own food, it would only give me the option to add fl oz or ml when I’m not even adding a liquid, so instead I’d like to see tbsp, cup, oz, etc. but those don’t exist. Because of this limitation, it wasn’t accurately tracking my quantity. Also, I wish there was a space, a note section if you will, to add something about the food. For example, one serving size of a brand of breakfast sausages is 3 links, but I can’t put that in anywhere. It’ll just record as “1 serving”. So I have to then remember the serving size (according to a food package) for so many different foods. Imagine liking and buying five different types of breakfast sausage and they each have their own serving size, and you just have to automatically know and remember when you input which sausage brand has which serving size. For these reasons, I deleted the app and am searching for a new one..Version: 1.34

Almost perfect appI have been using HitMeal for about a month now, and I could go on and on about what it does right. I love how nutrition information from even some more obscure restaurants and recipes are easy to find. I like how easy it is to add your own recipes, and the interface you use to go about all this. A few features that I think would be very beneficial though: 1. More fine-grained control of custom recipe portions. I sometimes eat different amounts than just whole, halves, thirds and quarters, of a serving. Since the ingredients all include weight and/or volume, being able to control it that way would be a game-changer. 2. Being able to choose portion size from the calories/macro values. If I want to eat X number of calories of something, it would be awesome if I could type in X and get how much I would need to eat to do this. 3. Having the search feature include your custom recipes when searching under breakfast, lunch, etc. that’s my workflow for most items, so having it extend to your recipes would be convenient. Regardless of these gripes, this is a stellar app and I applaud the developer for it!.Version: 1.38

I’m new to the appBeen using just a few days. I appreciate that it doesn’t harass me if I miss meal or a day. Seems like a lot of steps to add a food to the daily list of food consumed but I’m getting used to it. I find it difficult to add partial servings since it often doesn’t give the option for tablespoons, cups, and other random measures. When I tried to add a salad from a restaurant (the restaurant listed number of calories on their menu) I was frustrated that I had to fill in something for number of ounces! What?! A salad might be cups but ounces? And the form wouldn’t allow me to bypass that blank. The last app I used gave multiple ways to label the measurements — slices, cups, ounces, large/medium/small serving, etc. It seemed much more accurate. Something for the developers to work on. Also I’ve found no way to directly sync my Fitbit steps without using Apple health — which is too nosy. Further I’ve found no way to manually add steps to this app. There’s an option to add walking duration (how many minutes did you walk?) but not # of recorded steps..Version: 1.28

Nice app but could use some improvementI really liked the app at first, and I am going to continue to use it… But I think there could be some improvement. 1. There should be a way to click into an individual meal and view all of the nutrition facts for the meal as a whole (right now it only shows calories in that regard). Why track carbs, fat, and protein if you are not going to break it down and let people analyze it more than just by the day. I would like to see all the nutrition information broken down by individual meal as well. I am type one diabetic And it would be really nice to go into each of my meals and see how many carbs I ate rather than having to look at each ingredient and put it together that way. 2. For those days when you’re not using the app, there should be a filter to exclude those days from your average caloric intake. without that, all of the days where you have 0 cal inputted are going to skew your data and give you false results. There should also be an average carb, protein, and fat average daily intake. I’m kind of a nerd when it comes to numbers and these are all things that I would think A lot of people would find very useful and shouldn’t be too hard to implement considering all of the data is right there. those are my notes so far, would be great if somebody read this and implemented any of these changes. Again, I think the app is great, but just need some improvement..Version: 1.35

Great App But Could Use Some Quality of Life ImprovementsI genuinely love this app. I love how clean, simple, intuitive, and user-friendly the app is. It’s easy to sync my Apple Watch so that it tracks my exercises and automatically calculates it into my deficit. The one area I struggle with a bit is the food logging. A lot of the foods that I scan the barcode to log them are not included in the apps database and creating a new food to contribute or add is not the easiest as there are limitations to the measurement types when creating a new food that often times don’t align with the portion sizes I see in the food I’m scanning. The character limit on the food is also hard to correctly log new foods with the full title of the food to help distinguish it from other brands, etc. I also wish there was a way to copy and paste meals; for example with my calorie deficit I am meal planning and often times have the same meals weighed out where I know I’ll eat the same thing for lunch and dinner. I know your most recents show up in the food log or you can favorite foods, but I think adding a feature to add an entire meal would be beneficial as a I often times put the ingredients of what I cooked instead of looking up a close recipe of what I’m making. This leads me to the recipe making. It’s such a great concept in theory but there’s no real way to break down the recipe into servings or portions easily and then log from that recipe in the food log menu. I was really excited for that feature to put in my bulk meals and figure out the calories when choosing a serving, but often times I can’t access the recipe. With all that being said, I still love the app and find it less overwhelming to use than MyFitnessPal. The clean and simple interface motivate me to keep logging everything. I purchased the full year on a whim as this was one of the first apps that popped up in my Google search and I have not regretted it at all. And if either the database expands or some of these quality of life changes are added I would rate it over 5 stars if I could!.Version: 1.37

Awesome!Hi! This is a really good app! Being a serial dieter I have tried them all! This one is very intuitive without the “reward” and “punishment” colors or emojis that I really disliked in other apps. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because there is a problem with the sorting that would be REALLY easy for the devs to fix and make the app so much better! The search feature should be able to be done within the sub categories such as, “All,” “Favorites,” “My Entries” and “My Meals”. The way it is now, if you want to add a food and you’ve built a nice library of favorites, if you try to search within your favorites, it searches all food. It takes so much typing to get to the one you want. That’s really frustrating. If the devs can’t change this, at lease put the “favorites” in alphabetical order so if we have to scroll to get an idea we will know how far down we have to go. Thanks for considering!.Version: 1.34

Almost great, but not as convenient as My Fitness PalThe app is really easy to use, manoeuvre and track. The user interface is good. I paid to get the additional features but I’m disappointed in them. If the app developers are listening, here are a few points of improvement: - the app does not allow for me to create a recipe and tell me it’s calorie count. That really limits my food logging. I have to first calculate the calorie by myself through a browser and then log in under “Quick calorie intake”. It’s really bothersome. Compared to my fitness pal this is a big negative. - the app does not have all the foods listed. The catalogue of products is lacking. Some times I scan my food and it comes up as “food not found” :( - The meal plans given are not practical. How can you expect someone to cook a new food for every meal. I wanted to follow the high protein meal plan but it requires new ingredients for every meal. That’s a bit wasteful and not to mention, expensive. It would’ve been good if these meal plans were curated more practically, utilising same ingredients every other day or in every other meal. - Weight loss tracking is not very motivating. It does not say how many more months/days left or does not give data on how much weight I could potentially lose if I continue on same track. It’s good to have this graph in mind at the end of each day to stay motivated + keep a target date in mind. I’ve paid for the app now so I’ll continue to use it but I think My fitness pal is a much better calorie counter/fitness app. Thanks for your hard work!.Version: 1.31

Needs More CustomizationThis is a cool app for tracking your meals and water intakes. At this point I am using it mostly for the food database because of a few shortcomings. Where it does need a little work is working with more advanced users both technically and nutritionally One example is if you are already working with a nutritionist, have very specific goals, or if you know what you are doing and would need to enter custom macros. The app does not allow for that which is kind of frustrating. So I ignore the app suggestions and run a tally based on what I have already eaten. The other downside for me is the lack of shortcuts. I’m not going to open the app every time I finish my water bottle. I need something more practical so I started to track that separately with the Apple Health app. That way I can just tap an nfc tag and log my water intake. These days shortcuts are a must for any apps!.Version: 1.23

Good app for freeI like this app because it is simple to use and I can easily add the same things that I eat all the time through the meals section. Sometimes the calories the app suggests are different than the nutrition label so I adjust the serving size which I feel causes inaccuracies in the fat and protein section. I was also a little disappointed when I reached my goal weight and nothing happened. It just asked if I wanted to recalculate my calories. I expected a congratulations message at least and thought since it is an apple app maybe I would get the balloons or confetti like they have programmed for texts. Not enough negativity to make me stop using the app but I wanted to warn others they might be a little disappointed. Overall through free version is pretty good and love that there are no advertisements..Version: 1.44

Easy to useLove how easy this app is to use and get started immediately. Just in a couple days it really opened my eyes to what foods give me the most bang for my calories. If I could make a couple suggestions to the developers I would love to see tallied up daily my vitamin/mineral intake based on foods. That would take the app to a whole new level compared to other similar apps. To see a list of the standard vitamins/ minerals like a,c,d,e,k potassium, magnesium, zinc etc would be awesome. Also, if they could include calories burned for household chores under activity because for sure we are burning many calories doing cleaning, grocery shopping, carrying kids around, playing with kids etc..Version: 1.38

Food scanner doesn’t workI love this app but it is really disappointing that the food scanner doesn’t work. I have tried it on so many things both command and not and it never gets it right. The picture identifier is way off too. Another factor that’s disappointing (or maybe I’m just doing it wrong) but I try and create recipients or meals and it is so hard to break it down into servings. If you put the ingredients in for the whole batch of what you’re making it will make that whole recipe one serving so then you can only go as low as 1/4 serving. But if it’s a batch of muffins or cookies where it will make 12-24 there is no way to accurately load in a serving when you eat them. It seems like you would have to do the math yourself based on what you are making but I’m not sure how to log 1/12 or an egg in the recipe..Version: 1.41

Okay not greatThings I Like and Dislike 1. Like: You can scan a barcode so the app automatically inputs the nutritional info; and it’s recognized almost everything I have scanned Dislike: once it’s scanned in it defaults to “serving” but you can’t see what the original serving is so you have to then look it up again next time you want to input the food, so if you don’t remember what a serving is then it’s difficult to log it accurately. 2. Like: you can save foods as your favorites Dislike: the favorite list becomes long and no way to sort it easily 3. Like: it can connect to Apple iPhone or watch data for pedometer to track steps and “burned” calories Dislike: it’s not always accurate so I haven’t been sure why it’s different on the app compared to the pedometer 4. Like: you can track macros Dislike: you have no control over macros aside from inputting your gender, weight, activity level, and weight loss goal. Dislike: the app has me having a goal for macros of 114g carbs and 189g protein and 43g fat. I could never reach this goal while only eating 1360 calories AND looking up a 200g protein diet is usually reserved for 220 pound weight lifters (which I am not.)..Version: 1.24

Could improve for the priceThis is not the first calorie counter app I’ve used. It’s also not the best. For starters, it doesn’t save your frequent foods, so every day you have to search every item you had for breakfast, lunch or dinner even if it’s the same thing you had for a week. Second, it doesn’t scroll over to the next day automatically. It’s so silly but you want to click the least possible to get over with recording your food and having to go up on the page to find the day you’re on feels too much work. Third, it doesn’t track fiber. Maybe this is an app that doesn’t really care about health but only about loosing weight but fiber is super important. Other apps do all the things I mentioned before for the same price. I’m a bit disappointed. Should have kept my old apps..Version: 1.17

Great MFP replacementI’ve been looking for an alternative to MFP for a while now and so far this is the best option. I actually think the user interface is a lot better and love that it asks you your goals and automatically suggests macros and calories. However there’s just a few small differences that make me hesitant to switch. First being that there are no support for widgets which I rely on to remind me to log and keep up with my goals. I think it would be an amazing addition to the app to offer widgets for quick adding and viewing of counts from the Home Screen. My second issue is that when I downloaded the app and at the time of writing, the App Store page advertises 50 percent off the subscription price and in the app there is absolutely no mention of this. Seems kind of odd to me..Version: 1.24

I like the app, but …Logging food daily can be time consuming and frankly annoying. This app helps take away those pains through a really nice interface. While I like the app, I have a few suggestions to make logging food even better: 1. When adding recent items by pressing the plus sign, the app jumps each time up to the top of the list. If I’m scrolling through 10s of items to find something logged 2-weeks ago, it get pretty annoying. 2. If I’m logging a recent item, keep the unit of measurement and the amount the same as my previous choice. I logged food for days just to realize my items had reset to the default. 3. Finally, if I open the app tomorrow, the app should open to that days log and not yesterdays. I logged food on the wrong day because the app is opening to previous days and not the current day. Then, there was no way to move the items. Overall, I like the app. I used my fitness pal for a long time and this app is a better because it is not bloated with ‘features’. Thanks..Version: 1.33

Simple app, poor database and terrible scannerI was looking for an alternative to what I was using and unfortunately purchased the premium before really testing thoroughly. The interface is nice and simple. It got me focused on protein which helped a lot, but the food database is severely lacking. Too much time searching for foods that are common and should be easy. The final straw for me was the barcode scanner. It’s never worked. Very disappointing as I’m always in a hurry and on the go and I wouldn’t have purchased the app if I knew the barcode scanner didn’t work. I downloaded myfitnesspal, easily found the foods I was looking for, scanned a barcode and promptly deleted this app. I wish I could get my money back as I’ve not even been using it a month!!.Version: 1.35

Not FreeFirst this app is not free as it states when it comes up, you have to pay a subscription. Second the scanner never works, it’s constantly keeps scanning and when it finally stops does not even give you the item option. When you do search for the items the nutrion facts are never the same. We should just be able to have the option to take a picture of it and the system automatically enter it, or at least give the more options beside oz/fl oz or even the serving size. For women, it should also have the option to input menstrual cycles as this cause fluctuations and water retention and we can better see how this is affecting the progress. There’s a reason why they don’t give a trial, I will just leave it at that..Version: 1.34

HOW COULD IT GET ANY BETTERI just started working out and weight lifting consistently two weeks ago for my weight gain journey. And I simply wanted a tracker for my calories to assure I’m consuming enough to really gain weight along with lifting. I saw this app with such a cute icon btw. AND ITS MORE THAN I EVER WANTED. It tracks EVERYTHING, your water consumption, & lets you to pick the foods you’ve eaten down to the serving & BRAND! It even gives u recipes along with the meal suggestions and meal plans. And then even makes a grocery list for you to shop for everything you’ll need for the week for these meals. This is EXACTLY what I needed. Really dope app.Version: 1.18

Good almost great.I’m on sort of a Mediterranean diet and would love to see that as a meal plan option… with the ability to exclude allergies like shellfish. I suppose it’s nearest the DASH option but, yeah. Or, even the ability to construct a my own menu for the week in advance and build a shopping list too; that would be phenomenal. Otherwise, I think the food entry section has a few kinks; specifically the serving type, unit & size area… Entering a single serving of creamer for example, I had to add in the title that meant just 2 tablespoons as tablespoon wasn’t a unit option… I also don’t think I saw pounds and fraction of pounds for meats? Most everything was in grams on the list which takes a lot of time for me to do the conversion per meal. & for me the barcode scanner rarely works and searching seems to yield wild results. One example being broccoli; I got a match with the barcode but the data wasn’t accurate to the nutritional label. The ability to clear items from recent foods list or at least make it so they don’t repeat would be great too. Otherwise, so far so good!.Version: 1.35

LimitedThe very very basics - find what you eat, enter it into your daily goal. You can only choose 2 daily goals tho … lose weight or maintain weight - and then you are locked in to what you choose. There is zero flexibility for people that want a more custom way. A lot of the organic and health foods I am eating, are not included. So I have to add, no big deal. After you add a food item, you can’t edit it or look back at it. You can’t see any info of that item after you have added it to your meal. You can’t see it, NOR can you edit it. Let’s say you have 1 egg. You enter 1 egg. You can’t go back and see the nutrition of rust egg. NOR can you add another egg. You have to delete your 1 egg, search for eggs all over again and then add 2 eggs. The remaining fats, calories, and carbs per day is good but also very limiting. Very. Adding in workouts was also pretty clumsy I think. I want an app that can also suggest things. This app seems like a good start for someone that is just starting out in nutrition to be more conscious, but for an athlete for someone serious about a training goal - it is missing a lot..Version: 1.22

Helpful but missing some thingsI opted for this app because it was the suggested app for Apple devices. I paid for my membership, so I am reluctant to move onto another program. This does a fine job for tracking macros, but is surprisingly difficult in a few areas. 1. It does not seem to recognize the foods that I prefer or record regularly. Even when marking them as favorite foods, I still have to type the full name out for it to come up, and even then, scroll down a list to find them. 2. Often, I scan the barcode only to find the information recorded in the app is different than provided on the container. I’ve even found it to be a different product altogether. 3. I have mistakenly recorded information in either the wrong meal or for the wrong day, and it would be helpful to simply click the items and change that meal/day rather than delete everything and start over. 4. I have my water intake set to 8 ounce cups and for whatever reason it will not allow me to add one cup at a time. When I hit the +, it adds 2 cups. Outside of these things, it does the job..Version: 1.34

Love it but recipe building needs improvementI have had this app for over a year and have lost 50 pounds so I really like it! But one thing I wish it had (unless I just have missed how to do this) is when creating a recipe that I can add to the recipe how many servings. For example, it calculates the entire recipe and then gives one serving as the total calories for the whole meal and breaks down to jus 1/4, 1/2 serving etc. but it’s doesn’t allow me to put in 12 servings for example, and then divide the whole recipe by 12 to be able to add the calories and nutrients for what you actually ate. So for now i divide it myself and add the calories manually..Version: 1.35

Like it!I do like the app , i use it since the beginning of this year to track my calorie and mostly protein intake. There is a thing I would add to to have it perfect ! When we have the breakfast , lunch titles , it shows the calorie intake for each of them , but not the amount of protein , fats and carbs eaten on this particular meal. I am tracking my calorie intake and proteins and I would love to see my protein for each meal. Now before logging the lunch for example I have to check the protein for breakfast and see the difference from the total . I hope that make sense 🙈it does in my head.Version: 1.34

Nice AppThe app has many features one would need to count calories, track their fast, and has a lot of innovative customization. I love how you can see a shopping list on the top right after you choose a meal plan, how food in it is separated by category, and how you can click things on the list to cross them out. My only wish is that there was recipe importation capabilities. If there is, I’m not too sure whereas the app doesn’t have a tutorial, and most of the features you must figure out as you go. Other than that, I love how clean and simple this app looks, and I anticipate using it for the foreseeable future..Version: 1.38

Micronutrient Addition and a few notesThe app is great, the UI is easy to understand and the layout is very beginner friendly. I love the protein, carb and fat layout but a few suggestions: we should be able to see micronutrients too at least fiber, iron and vitamins as these nutrients are also important to people that track their meals. Additionally, when we add/create new food items we need to be able to put the serving size in g instead of just oz/fl oz and we should be able to put the actual weight instead of the approximates of 0.25,0.3,etc. if the developers can take this into account the app will be five star..Version: 1.52

Best if it’s kind!I really love this app and how easy it is to use. I’ve tried a few and this one is the absolute best I’ve tried yet. I appreciate how many foods and brands they have already saved. I meal prep for weeks in advance and I can add and save meals I’ve made and I can easily find them. I am also able to add a meal I make for 4 people and separate it to see how many calories I ate from my portion. I can add foods from restaurants on my cheat days, thanks to the wide selection of foods listed in the app. Both my husband and I use the app to keep track of our calories, macros and to keep a diary of our food. I only wish I could type in a recipe and share it with him to save time from having to add it to his phone as well. But besides that small set back this app is accurate, easy to use, and very informative. I will definitely keep using it even after I loose the weight I’m hoping and trying to loose for my anniversary..Version: 1.36

AmazingI rarely write reviews on AppStore and its usually when i don’t like something. THIS IS THE BEST APP ON THE ENTIRE APPSTORE. It’s working better than fine, it’s simple and clean, and the best thing of all is it’s free. Just the fact that it’s a solid app and it is not trying to pickpocket me for my credit card id or some insane subscriptions fees is amazing. To be honest I saw the add on Instagram and instantly thought it must be a 20$/month or 50$/year (you know like every other app that you find and get disappointed. To sum up my thoughts GOOD WORK, PLEASE DONT RUIN THE APP IN THE FUTURE. I realize that you must make money, but for gods sake, just add the adds..Version: 1.1

A few changes would be nice but really goodIt is a good app and much more affordable than myfitnesspal. A couple issues I’ve had that would ease QoL is that when adding foods to the breakfast, lunch, dinner, it resets back to the top of the page each time. If I need to add a couple fruits back to back on the list I have to scroll back down to find it again. The next issue is the barcode scanner. No matter what I scan, it will not read barcodes, so that’s disappointing The third thing is macros. We should be able to set macros manually and not just by percentage. I understand what the goal is but being able to adjust to our specific needs will help a lot.Version: 1.35

Ultimate calorie & food tracker tailored for your personal health journeyThis app makes it incredibly easy to monitor and creates awareness of your daily intake and excercise, helping you stay on track with your personal health goals! Whether your trying t shed a few pounds, gain muscle, or just maintain your current weight, HitMeal simplifies the process. One of the best features is it synced to your iPhone/Apple Watch. It automatically loads my excercises and calories burned, which makes tracking my activity effortless. Two suggestions: While it tracks carbs, protein, and fat, adding a sugar count would provide an even more complete picture of your nutrition. Additionally, I’d love to see Pickleball added to the list of activities under the excercise tracker. Overall, if your looking for an easy-to use calorie and food tracker to support your personal health and fitness goals, look no further than HitMeal.Version: 1.37

Great, but has a few bugsI love this app, I have already had it for a week and it’s great. But there is one problem. The problem is that when I use the treadmill and I do 60 minutes and burn 400 calories it won’t let me put it in and says that “treadmill” is already is the exercise list. That would be ok if when I go on the exercise list and go on “treadmill,” it would let me put in both my calorie burn count and time. Instead, it only lets me put in the time and it assumes (incorrectly) the amount of calories I burned. Note to developers - Please fix this so I can just put in the calories burned off and time when using the elliptical. Thanks.Version: 1.34

Water reminder ideaHey i’ve had this app for a while now and i wanna say i love it. If you’re considering wether or not to pay i would 100% recommend getting it too. i was skeptical about it at first but it’s a really easy app that keeps you on track. One thing i wanna add is possibly adding a water reminder notification. I’m busy all day and often lose track of time and i feel like a water reminder would help me get more water in when im lost doing work. Overall a great app though💯.Version: 1.30

Food search is pretty limitedTrying to look up foods and figure out the serving sizes is a real pain in the patootie. I’ve used Noom, chronometer and my fitness pal and while I like the format of this app, it’s just too hard to find the foods I want and get a clear idea of the serving sizes. Most foods just say “1 serving” instead of saying “1 cup” or “1 tablespoon” and you need to go back to a different screen to try to figure out what that serving actually is. Another issue is finding foods, brands, and whatnot. If you rearrange words in your search you can get wildly different answers so it’s hard to know what’s actually in their database..Version: 1.39

Needs UpdatesI like this app, but it needs some updates. Having an icon to select dates in calendar form will make viewing past logged entries easily accessible. Right now we have to scroll to find a date which is time consuming. Also some of the nutrition that’s automatically set is incorrect. Enabling us to edit that for our personal profile only would be great. I know we can edited the ones we put in, but allowing us to edit all of them based on our needs would be beneficial instead of us having to create a new food. If the app had those updates, I’d give it 5 stars!.Version: 1.34

Didn’t keep the appI would’ve tried this app for longer, im sure it had good qualities. I was just disappointed when filling out my goals, and there wasn’t an option for weight gain. It showed “lose weight, stay fit, or gain muscle” which isn’t what i’m looking for at all. I’ve been trying to find an app that helps me plan meals, and count my calories . I’ve struggled with gaining weight for awhile, so I thought an app would help me. It’s been extremely difficult to find one that can make a plan that works for me. I’m trying another app now, and maybe if this one changes the goals i’ll try it again..Version: 1.32

This app helped me lose 45 and counting !!!Every morning when I wake up the first thing I do is decide what I’m going to eat and I put it in this app. This app has helped me lose over 45 pounds and is currently helping me lose more weight after I had my baby. The only downside about this app is whenever you try to put in food, it lags and you can’t put in more than one item at a time other than that I’ve been using this app for almost 2 years now..Version: 1.38

Best free app everThis is the most easy to use free app ever. It has recipes and meal plans to help it has a fasting schedule all for free. Absolutely love this app and recommend it to anyone just starting to track calories and micro. The scanner to log food is free. It also tracks water intake. And weight. Can’t say enough good things about it. This app helped me with all my weight loss journey. Was 220 lbs. now 203lbs. With just changing eating habits. I wanted to get comfortable with eating before adding other healthy things..Version: 1.51

Very good but one flawI love how this app is set up, but one thing that is a big problem is it doesn’t save my food logs which I need to show to my dietitian. I’ve contacted customer support and they’ve never gotten back to me. I don’t want to have to log everything twice a day first on the app and then write it down on paper so I can show my Dietician because she’s going to want to see what I’ve eaten, but I can’t show her because it disappears when the new day begins.Version: 1.39

Good first impressionsLove it so far. You do not need to pay for the subscription btw - they hide the x in the top right. So far it’s been fantastic, very well designed and a pleasure to use. Shame on you tho devs for hiding the ‘x’ on the subscription fee screen - y’all should take a shower.Version: 1.21

💀🤑Too much Love 🥰👻Dear Hiba I love the app..Version: 1.52

Good appI like the app. Helps me keep track of my calories well and has most products I’ve tried to add. The only issue I have noticed so far is the water intake does not work properly..Version: 1.38

Lost information/ tracking caloriesDownloaded the app yesterday and logged everything. Woke up this morning and took a look at yesterday’s log, only the breakfast section remained. Almost enough to make me remove the app and definitely enough to cancel the subscription..Version: 1.11

Great appVery helpful with keeping track of intake.Version: 1.50

Satisfied CustomerI’m not using the app fully but I find it really useful just to track my eating patterns..Version: 1.51

Love this app!!!I love this app sm simple and easy to use, no annoying ads, and the meal scanner actually works, the monthly subscription was worth it.Version: 1.46

5/5 would recommendGreat calorie tracker.Version: 1.41

Deleting parts of mealsI love the app. The only issue is that I cannot figure out how to delete foods once I’ve added them to a day. Sometimes I just want to see if I can balance my calories for the day and add something and realize it’s too high and want to remove it. How is that done?.Version: 1.44

ImportantI'm trying to talk to you but I don't know how. I wanted to know how I can cancel and stop charging my card.Version: 1.41

Great user interfaceI find it more user friendly and simple compared to fitness pal.Version: 1.41

User FriendlyGreat UI and mostly accurate food data..Version: 1.40

Too much pop upsBeen using it for barely 2 days and it seems they obligate me to rate it to use the app. So here’s my grain of salt. I hate constant pop ups..Version: 1.41

2 years later what do I think.I’ve used this app for two ish years to now. I started using it to help me track my protein intake and have changed my goals over the years. Now I’m focusing on using it to help me monitor my calorie deficit goals. I’ve used the free version and the payed for version. First the good: I like how it interacts with my iPhone. I like the over all aesthetic of the app and the way you track food is intuitive. I don’t use the meal plans or the recipes but I see these things as a plus for a lot of people who don’t already know how to cook. I like the ring at the top right of the screen that shows how much I have left calorie wise to eat that day. What I don’t like: - I got the payed for version to use the scan QR code feature. After two years/ a year of using the payed for version, this feature basically doesn’t work. It takes forever to open up taking away the time saving incentive. It also often doesn’t recognize the food and will like it to other random foods. Causing me to have to search it anyways. I liked this feature especially so I can track in public discreetly. But because of all the issues with it it’s way less discreet than just searching it up. - the search tool is so convoluted. If you search the word egg you will get every egg dish known to man. When I track I track each ingredient I add. But the app wants you to select cheese omelette and just go with whatever they say the calories are for that serving. It’s silly and ineffective. I end up needing to scroll until I find just an egg some were in the mix and build the meal myself. Which takes so much time that was unnecessary. Also, I think the app is not Canadian or atleast not French Canadian friendly. Because it’s missing so many major brands (again making the qr useless) - my final major issues is the calorie tracker interface. As I mentioned above I’m working on a calorie deficit. The app is constantly changing my deficit without my consent and adding additional calories even if I just go for a walk. I appreciate that it wants me to be well fed and isn’t trying to give me a tiny portion. But ultimately it’s frustrating that I don’t get to control how much I want to eat in app. I’ve tried looking through the app for options. But everytime I edit my calorie goal it’s been changed after a few days. And again if you work out it’ll add whatever calories you burned into your diet! So let’s say you’re trying to eat 2,000 cal a day and work out to burn 500. The app will edit your goal to have you eating 2500 a day. I used to look at the circle to the right to see how many calories I have left to eat, especially around dinner. I’ve had to stop doing that because it moss leads me on how much I’ve actually consumed..Version: 1.41

TestingOnly been using a week, It’s definitely interesting to see what actually eat in a day.Version: 1.40

Great toolI just started with this app with the HitMeal program and find it very useful! I’ll let you know in a month if I found it useful to keep on track ! Lol Definitely has everything you need to track your daily consumption!.Version: 1.39

Not greatIt doesn’t have an introduction to show you where things are in the app, it does have meal plans but doesn’t let you choose which ingredients to omit for allergies or just preferences. I don’t see a place I can take a photo like in the thumbnail. To discover the calorie count. You’re of course faced with a free trial or payment when you open the app. Overall, I’ve found better apps..Version: 1.39

It’s a trackerGood but pop ups to purchase can get annoying.Version: 1.39

Add sugar countI love this app, helped me out so much on my weight loss journey, you should really add a sugar tracker so you can track, as someone losing weight it’s probably hella helpful for others who want to lose weight and count sugar intake.Version: 1.39
