Be patientThe app does work mostly after you get to the hotel to give information and show what you have booked such as reservations and such. It doesn’t actually book the spa sessions though, even though I click “Finalize” to book an appointment it doesn’t actually book the appointment. My wife and I showed up for a couples massage and they didn’t have our reservation but still accommodated us anyways. If you want to get dinner reservations you can create an account online and use the website on an actual computer - the mobile site does not work well for this on a phone. I suffered with a headache all night in building 2. The first room I was in was great in building 1 only issue was I did not like the location. It was in the first building which always smelled nice. I was traveling alone and a woman. I did not like that I was on the first floor where all the employees come in and out. Used every day of vacationThis app worked great! I wasn’t sure after reading reviews. While it didn’t actually let you check-in or out, we used it everyday. You can order ice, room service, and a whole list of other things. You can make reservations at a la cart restaurants and the spa. During Covid the restaurants are using a QR codes instead of paper menus. A few times I lost the menu after sitting down. Wonderful resort!Baha’i Principe is awesome. I played golf on they’re PGA championship course with incredible views of the ocean! There are many fun activities day and night. The food was wonderful and non-stop and unlimited drinks of every kind. The pool is the center of activity and over-looks the beach and ocean. Travelled as a family groupMixed ages from 20-70. Very clean and well maintained resort. However, it’s HUGE and there is only one buffet. Line ups are long at both entrances for dinner and breakfast. Possibly only during prime months. We travelled in February to beginning of March. A la cartes are impossible to book as they are all full. Apparently you can pre book on the app prior to arrival and we weren’t aware. We even tried separating and going with individual couples and family’s. the Italian restaurant is a fan favourite and it’s only open 3 days a week. ReviewNot landing in La Romana is disappointing, it appears that most of the planes land in PUNTA Cana, dispersing holiday goers from there. The 1-1/2 bus ride was uneventful, with no water or beverages of any kind. I am not sure if we made a schedule stop or unschedule stop at a gas station with a conveient store, there I bought water for my wife & I and used the washroom. Upon arriving at the hotel front desk I had to ask for a welcome drink. The rooms are very nice, the water pressure is alot better in this room then the room we stayed in last year. We had an issue with the room door not closing properly, they immediately dispatched a repair person to fix the problem. The hotel surroundings are very majestic and quiet. The lack of the hustle and bustle of most city noises, gives new meaning to serenity. No matter what hotel, including this one the Dominican staff are very nice & willing to assist you in anyway to make your day wonderful! Most hotels are not progressive. Having an app makes life very easy to arrange à la cart dinner on line and review what you have booked. Last year the Wi-fi was terrible. So far they appeared to have made in roads on better wifi reception. The gym needs a make over, the equipment is antiquated with limited machines. Health these days is always imported, having an excellent exercise facility is a strong reason to return to this hotel. Works wellI have to admit I was a little worried when I read all the one star reviews. I did not have any serious issues with the app. I am using an iPhone 12. When I first tried to check in, I was able to use my reference number that I got on the bill from my travel agent and it worked on first try. The only minor issue that I had was when the app asked me to scan my passport. When I first clicked on the button, the screen just went blank. But I decided to check in my settings to confirm the app had access to the camera and pictures. It did not, so I gave it access and came back to the app and it worked perfectly (there are a few questions on that page too, but make sure you scan the passport first). Useless appThe app doesn’t do much. It is advertised as if you were able to pre select your room a week before your arrival, but there is no option in the app to do this. Calling the hotel brought to light that it is not possible and even by phone they were not able to offer us a specific room location. Terrible….We were really excited about our first visit to a Bahía Príncipe resort as a group of 12 friends. Flight Centre booked us six couples under two bookings. Then we downloaded the app and 10 days before we were due to arrive we checked in using the app. And then the grief began. The app would get the names of the booked people all mixed up and finally after a lot of trouble we were able to “check in” - not really because all we could do was upload our passport information. I contacted BP support through email and days later they responded with “sorry for the technical error”. We thought things would get better after we checked in at the resort on arrival. Not really - even after I entered my allotted room number and my email, the app refused to register it and reverted to the room number of one of my friends also on the booking. I had painstakingly created “My Plans” about all the activities we wanted to do and all that was lost. No ServiceWe are at the Bahia Principe La Romana. If you are expecting a five star well you got the wrong place. This is no more than a three star. We have not had any hot water to wash since our arrival at this resort . We have complained every single day and all they could do is smile, nod, and somewhat tell us “they call maintenance”. No one here speaks good English so don’t expect much. The food here is of the lowest grade, and so are the drinks. Expect to be sick as sanitation doesn’t seem to be at the top of the priority list.
