I’ve added them to my portfolio as a way to get more precise exposure on a number of factors that go into a stock. I wouldn’t be surprised if this trading instrument becomes massive. The company has a lot of educational material, which made it easy to onboard and trade safely. I also like that there is no leverage right now, which makes it simpler and more safe. But I hope the company introduces leverage later down the line as traders build a track record. The app flows well. It’s easy to understand and manage one’s exposure. Scam AlertIt's one of those apps that gathers all of your personal information (SSN, DOB, address, phone, everything) and then makes it IMPOSSIBLE to delete any of it. There are instructions to follow on the app but they always lead to a dead end. They are simply gathering your info and keeping it forever. Disappointing Experience Due to Low Liquidity and High FeesI've been using the Kalshi app for a while now, and unfortunately, it has been a pretty underwhelming experience. The biggest issue is the extremely low liquidity. It’s difficult to find markets with enough participants, and even when you do, the order books are so thin that getting in or out of a position without significant slippage is nearly impossible. This defeats the purpose of trying to trade predictions on real-world events, as the lack of activity makes the app feel almost unusable at times. On top of that, the fees are really high relative to what you can potentially earn. When you combine the low liquidity with the high costs, it becomes hard to justify any meaningful participation. Even if you manage to make some correct predictions, the fees eat into your profits so much that it hardly feels worth it. Overall, Kalshi has a promising concept, but with its current liquidity issues and costly fees, it’s not a platform I can recommend for anyone looking to actively trade event predictions. Find a better events brokerEvents trading is a fun and fascinating business, but Kalshi is not a company I'd recommend anyone work with. After it became clear that Biden would be dropping out, Kalshi's head of markets - Xavier Sottile - sent a note out to folks that had traded in the "number of debates" contract on Kalshi. What was in his clarifying message was, in my opinion, different from how the contract language was written. He specifically said to reach out and ask him if anyone had any questions. I tried emailing him several times over the following couple weeks trying to get clarification but never got the courtesy of a response. At this point I'm unwinding all of my positions on Kalshi and will find an events broker that's more trustworthy and has better customer service. They've recently implemented a fee to withdraw money out of your account as well. It's only $2 per withdrawal, but it still feels like a bait and switch because that's not clear from the beginning and it's certainly not industry practice for financial accounts..Dan_26015Version: 9.4.14

Complete fraud & very shadyI put money on a bet which was supposed to resolve in about a month in a half from now. The bet was saying that Bitcoin will hit this price by the end of THIS YEAR. I go look at my bet the next day to see that the entire bet has changed and my money is stuck in something that I did NOT bet in. This app is very shady and somehow gets away with changing what you bet in at anytime they want making your odds for that bet whatever they want it to be. Unauthorized Social Security number pullingI downloaded the app which made me set up my account asking for email address, creating a password. After logining into my profile, I saw that my Social Security was already in my profile. However, I was not asked to provide my Social Security when setting up the account. when I later checked the privacy policy, it did say that I was permitting the company to provide my social security. I am not sure how they’re able to get my Social Security without accessing it from the Social Security office or another government institution that has access to the number.
