Marvel HQ: Kids Super Hero Fun Negative Reviews
Significant amount locked behind subscriptionI was excited to hear the announcement of this app, but very disappointed at what you get from the free version. I poked around the free sections so you don’t have to. TLDR if your kids are Captain America fans, the free section is perfect for them. There are multiple sections to explore: Watch, play, create, meet, and read. In the watch section, you can only view 6 of 37 options. In the play section, you can only access 1 out of 3 sections, the puzzle section. The puzzle section you can only select 1 of the 7 characters, Captain American. In the Captain America puzzles you can only access 6 of the 12 puzzles. In the Create sections, it is like a coloring book for 10 characters, you can only access Captain America, and only 6 of the 12 coloring pages. In the meet section, you can read about all the characters bios and have access to 3/18 characters. The read section has books and you have access to 1/7 books. This app was just released, so I’m hoping more content will be released. For me, the only way it would be worth it for the subscription would be to have 1) more robust parental controls to allow time limits or area limits and 2) at least 30 books to explore. Paywall and no soundEverything is behind the payroll, so be prepared for that. My son loves the app even though there is no sound. They’re supposed to be sound because there’s music mini games and I’ve tried researching why. I’m using this app on an iPad. I don’t have Bluetooth on or the vibrate/mute on, and volume is turned up. there’s no setting within the app that I can find to turn sound on. Is it possible to get a refund? My grandson doesn’t want to play the Marvel HQ game. I cancelled the subscription through Apple, but since he hasn’t touched the game except once for two minutes to decide it was not for him, I’m hoping to be refunded. It was charged for the first time on Aug 21, 2025.

I got ripped offMy kid showed me this app, he tells me there is a 7-day free trial. I press the green button for the trial, then cancel it in my subscriptions so I don’t get charged for the year. I then get charged $55.99 for the year, which is THEFT. Marvel stole this money from me. I tried through Apple to get a refund, telling them this is a big mistake, but, it got overturned. Imagine, a billion dollar company overturning a mistake like this. Here’s a lower-middle class family getting ripped off by a corp whose CEO’s net worth is $4.9 billion, according to Forbes. This is the only app that has overturned a decision (other more humble apps all overturned my kid’s decisions made without our consent). I have no respect for this pilferage. None, this is inexcusable theft, and I’m left with a measly review. I guess the adage that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer is tried and true at Marvel.
