I love how this app simplifies what used to take a lot of timeI’ve been messing with coins since forever, back when I had those old albums and had to scribble everything down myself like some kind of notebook detective, and honestly this app is weirdly convenient. You just snap the coin and it spits out a ton of info I used to dig up in books or forums for hours. I still find myself double-checking stuff because it’s so fast, but it’s kind of fun to have the weight, year, and even facts all in one place. I don’t really care about the collections part yet, mostly just like seeing what coin I actually have without hunting through piles or flipping through albums, makes me feel lazy but efficient I guess. I really like the Lettering section too, because sometimes the text on a coin is totally illegible, and this part helps you figure out what it actually says, though it doesn’t always catch every single word. Very simple and interesting!I dont really collect coins like seriously or anything, just have this little stash my mom left me, but I started scanning them with this app and its kinda fun seeing what each one actually is. It tells you all the stuff like year, country, even who made it or something, which I never knew. The prices thing is weird tho, like i scanned a 10-rupee coin and it said $0.64-$0.72 which seems high? Maybe i read it wrong or something, dunno, but makes me think its not super accurate all the time. Still I like just browsing through them and seeing all info pop up instantly, its kinda satisfying. Sometimes the app needs another try to get the coin right if its blurry but mostly works. Nice appI downloaded this for a uni project cause we had to make something interactive about history and I thought coins looked easy enough. Basically PointlessBasically pointless. Cool idea, but horrific recognition algorithms. I’ll take 2 exact same observe and reverse side pictures of a coin with different years and 1 will give me the exact year, details, and value, then the other just tells me the date range that coin was made. It’s about a 50/50 split on if the app recognizes the coin by specific year or just the range. When it does the range you can’t even manually select the correct year. The values can range from 5$ to 500$ and I know it’s a cheap, run of the mill coin but it archives into the collection is the average of the high and low. And I know this coin isn’t worth ~$250. The app cannot handle sets of data, just individual coins. So forget about those prestigious sets being valued. Also can’t recognize pure silver runs versus clad. So basically the app is pointless. Don’t waste your money or time. Just do a spreadsheet. Or use ChatGPT to make your own personal website with ease and archive everything yourself. The way I value my coins is by guessing the grade. Don’t do it!I had high expectations for this app. However, I was very disappointed that after I signed up for a free trial I was then charged $9.99 every week for 6 weeks. UselessI entered about 10 foreign coins, with dates clearly visible. After identifying the coin, I was given a very broad range of its supposed worth. But the actual year/mint mark of each coin entered was not considered when determining a value. For one coin, the date/mint mark are key, but the app didn’t recognize that and provided only a generic value. I have 100s of coins whose values I was hoping to ascertain. It couldn’t even find an error, on the rare coin?One of the pennies was in 1944 and had no mint date. This is significant because they could be worth anywhere between five dollars to $2000 depending on air condition. Waste of moneyIt does not correctly identify coins. It’s very hard to focus. I tried various denominations of coins. I scanned a 1928!Standing Liberty quarter AU. It did not identify the coin by date. It showed the timeline of what years the coins were minted. It did not give a value of the coin. I knew the quarter was a 1928 Standing Liberty quarter AU. Customers bewareI first ordered this app in June 9, 2025 use it that same day. The app was unable to read the coins. It didn’t matter how you placed the coin for it to be read.
