Lose It! – Calorie Counter Positive Reviews

By far the greatest app ive used for weight lossThere are SOOO many things to love about this app. i cant even list them all. to go along with the title, this is even one of the best apps i have ever used in my life! all you need to do is record all of your current stats, and then you can immediately jump on from there. there is a variety of different plans to chose from. i chose the one in the middle, mainly because i am not in a huge rush to reach my goal weight. this plan estimates that you should lose about 1.5 pounds a week (which is actually a lot). im already a week in and ive lost almost 2 pounds!!! this is not the only amazing feature, though. when it comes to tracking your meals, you can chose from a large variety of user-generated (unverified) and verified foods and drinks. you can also create your own recipes and meals! you can even track your workouts, in which you can select how long you were active and which category you were active in. just when you thought this app couldnt get any better, there is a social tab!! in this tab, you can see how other people that use the app are doing. this can really motivate you, trust me!! you can see posts from real people, talking about how they are managing their weight loss so far! it is really helpful to know that there are people out there that had the same thoughts as me and are succeeding! long story short, i would give this app more than 5 stars if i could! also, if youre reading this, have a good day ❤️ -brandyn rodrigues/brwndyn 🤍.Version: 13.4.500

Fantastic app, and great support!First, I will say that this app is really wonderful. I started using it about 10 years ago and it helped me lose about 40 pounds in the first year. It just made me very conscious of what I ate, in part with just keeping track of it by entering it, and in part, it was helping me understand where all the calories came from. It was actually very easy to lose the weight by knowing what piled on calories, and what I could fill up on without worrying. I got to my goal, and I have kept at that stable weight for the past nine years and I think it’s great. And my eating is much healthier in addition to being at a good weight. The second thing is that the technical support is great. The app was very easy to use, but over the last few months, it became very sluggish and frustrating. I didn’t think to actually reach out to customer support but instead I wrote a review with only two stars instead of 5 that I’d previously rated it, complaining about it. Well, technical support reached out to me and asked for some information, and then they just made a suggestion - that I make sure all my data was backed up online, which it was without doing anything, and then delete and reinstall the app. I did that, and it completely fixed the problem. I don’t think I’ve ever had an app technical service person reach out to me proactively from a review, start a dialogue, and then give me a solution to fix the problem. Kudos to you guys!.Version: 14.6.302

It’s the one that works for me!Weight loss is a personal journey. Everyone does it for their own reasons. Whenever I get to a point where I don’t like the way I fit into clothes or the way I look in the mirror, I know I can go to LoseIt!, start tracking, and achieve my goals. Every time I use this app I end up eating less and I’m way more conscious of my food choices, which end up being much healthier. Even my skeptical trainer says the app is good. I paid for the premium this time around so I can track my protein and cholesterol/saturated fat. My only wish is that I could track grams of calcium in food since I have osteoporosis. My only criticism is that sometimes the portions aren’t correct even when scanned(bag of Trader Joe’s beef jerky is not 90 cal, it’s 360cal), and it’s much better to weigh or measure your food and use that number as portion size than the number of something in a serving (13 shrimp weigh more than the serving size in grams - 10 shrimp was the actual number corresponding to the 85 grams for the serving). It’s important to compare the portion size to the actual size (that corresponds to the calories listed in the serving on package and LoseIt!), and be honest with yourself about portion size if you want this to work. This is true in all weight loss apps. Overall, I love this app and the data provided gives me exactly what i need to keep motivated. I am sure that LoseIt! will be with me for a long time!.Version: 15.1.401

A Tool I Rely OnI’ve used this app for several years. I learned pretty quickly where my extra calories were coming from and how to shape my eating plan for the day. The first time I used the app it worked but the weight came back. A few years later it didn’t seem to work. I discovered two important keys the third time I came back— third time’s the charm—for me, keeping the calorie budget where it is set before I’ve done any exercise, and not taking advantage of the bonus calories for exercise, makes it most effective. And personally I needed to address a tendency to eat compulsively and get education and support about that. I can’t speak for the articles and lessons offered here. I haven’t used them. I’ve gotten my support elsewhere. I love that it shows the amount of fat, carbohydrate, and protein I’m getting. I do find in the list of foods and calorie counts that sometimes other users lie about calories in foods so I have to be careful (like when it comes up that a tablespoon of mixed nuts is 15 calories, no it’s not; it’s about 45) to double check and try the “verified” button. But overall I give it five stars because it definitely helps with my food plan and got me to where I wanted to be which was a loss of about 45 pounds and remaining that way for about a year now. It is a tool I can rely on and it’s easy to use. I purchased the lifetime membership..Version: 16.2.100

Get Rid Of Snap FeatureHello hello! Amazing app that I’ve been using for years. It’s been amazing at helping me lose weight at multiple stages in my life. Ive lost 80 pounds and got into a normal weight range using the app after having each of my children. It’s simple and easy to input data. I really like the feature that shows milestones, telling you what object is equivalent to your weight loss. I like how the tracking looks in general. It takes your journey and gives great visuals on your progress. Giving 4/5 stars because I noticed they added a “snap it” feature which is just not accurate. Taking a picture of your plate and having AI try to figure out how many calories might be in it is just not going to work. The technology isn’t here yet and it probably never will be. You have to weigh your food or go by serving size to get a 100% accurate measurement for calorie and nutrition information. Or going based off of what a packaged food says on the container. As a long time customer, please remove this feature. It can be harmful to new people trying to lose weight and coming to this app which has great reviews and that a lot of people trust. That feature is not accurate. If you have any questions about weather or not I’m right please track everything on your plate based off of weight for one meal and use the same meal in another day or meal category in the app and just see how off it’ll be for you. Good luck everyone on their weight loss journey!.Version: 17.1.600

Great weight loss toolI’ve been currently using this app for around 40 days. (I have also used it briefly a few years ago). It has helped me make better food choices and so far I’m down 14 lbs without any exercise. I do wish the premium version had more micronutrient detail like an app I used in the past but maybe it will come eventually. That is one of the reasons I gave it only 4 stars and not 5. Also sometimes the serving measurement is wrong. Example it lists fluid ounces instead of a weight measurement for a certain dry ingredient. Doesn’t happen often but it takes a bit of tweaking. One other con I found is I used this app years ago but quit for a different app. So when I went back to it (and unfortunately I had gained weight back) it used my old lower weight as a record. even though I was on a new weight loss goal it kept telling me I had gained weight when I actually lost it. This was a little disheartening when you are trying so hard and are actually losing but it doesn’t support your current loss. Other than that like I said this app has helped me lose weight in a short amount of time and will help me keep losing. The scanning and food library makes it quick and easy. It really doesn’t take long at all to log your food once you’ve done it for a couple weeks. Weighing, measuring and truthfully logging are the key. This will help you make better food choices. The recipes are great too. It has a lot of great tips on relevant subjects like plateauing and staying full..Version: 11.5.700

Great!!!I’ve been using Lose It! for about 3 weeks now and have already lost about 6 pounds. The idea of just having to scan a barcode is super easy and it’s hard to forget to log your meal because you always gotta eat! Plus, being a student on the go all of the time and having sports makes it difficult to actually use workout apps but this app is so simple and easy to use. And, if you’re in a hurry and couldn’t log a meal the day before you can always go back and edit your past days if you left something out and it will still process the info. One thing to be careful of however is not eating. There was one time where I knew I was going out and knew I was going to be over my calories and was tempted to skip breakfast but skipping meals is not a good thing to do!!! It’s okay to be over your calorie budget a little, never feel inclined to always meet the goal. Having this app made me realize what I was putting into my body(I have the free version but it still displays macros which is super helpful.) This app combined with the app ActivityTracker is the perfect duo! Enter in the distance you walked at the end of the day from ActivityTracker on Lose It! and you’ll get calories added onto your calorie budget! I DEFINITELY recommend this app as I recommend it to all of my friends and anyone I know who is looking to lose weight and I hope you become as satisfied with Lose It! as I am! :).Version: 9.7.12

Best Calorie Tracker AppEasy to use, intuitive, helps keep you accountable to a reasonable food budget. Excellent selection of exercises (including even hunting!!), best I’ve ever seen. Probably most accurate weight lifting calories burned of the calorie counting apps. It’s more than usable with the free version. Downside is they constantly try to get you to upgrade. On cheat days I’ll even see “positive trend noticed” under an unhealthy food item😂 Every other time you open the app, there’s a “buy premium” banner, and there’s constantly a “24 hours left to buy premium at a discounted price” banner. Longest 24 hours of my life, it’s been going on for about 12 weeks now. It’s annoying, but doesn’t really detract from the overall quality of the app. If you’re trying to lose excess fat (especially with antidepressant-induced obesity), this is the app to use. I’d been trying to lose the weight I gained after listening to shrinks (bad idea) and taking antidepressants. Gained 50lb in less than a month and hadn’t been able to lose a single pound in the last almost 8 years. I have been weight lifting five days a week with a phenomenal trainer for about a year and still not seeing results. Started this app in October of 2023 and have since lost 10lb!! If you combine this app with daily exercise, you WILL lose weight. Just be meticulous in tracking every calorie that you eat or drink. This app makes it very easy to do that!.Version: 15.7.102

Already lost 10 ponds!!I am not going to lie,I hesitated about buying this app. But I read reviews. I am glad I purchased the app!! I bought the scale outside lose it app but when arrived it connected well. Because of this app I have been counting calories, keeping my diet away from unhealthy foods. Increased my water intake. All my Apple Watch workouts and steps sync to the app. I have a good idea of what I ate during the week that helped or hurt my body fat percentage. This app will work perfectly to somebody that is committed to lose weight and cannot pay a trainer. I am surprised at how good is working for me. Be honest with yourself and LOG everything even if is not your greatest meal. The only negative not so much of a negative more of a wish. I wish the app would have blood type option since lots of foods are not good for you depending on your blood type. Some other fitness apps have it along with tips and ideas related to your blood type and foods But! Honestly that is the only negative I have found so far. Like any other app you need to get use to it and if not their awesome customer service will help you via email. Today after stepping in the scale and realizing how fast I have lost 10 pounds because of this app I decided to type a review. it’s definitely worth it and helpful to those that are trying to lose weight and can’t understand why is not happening. Lose it app will help you understand why you are no losing weight but you must log everything! I have 20 more pounds to go but so far I am a very pleased and faithful lose it user✌️.Version: 9.5.20

From Amazing to New ED Hangout?Newest Review as of Monday, June 27, 2022: Okay so as you can see in my old review LoseIt was a really good app that just needed some minor adjustments.. But now? It has since become the new hangout spot for underage kids asking adults how to starve themselves. I used to love interacting in the groups but now it seems like every other post is filled with an underage teen ranting about how they just binged & tried to make themselves throw up. I thought this app was for 18+..? It truly is a drag to be in groups now. These days I just log my food & weight then close the app. This is truly the new hangout spot for underage kids with eating disorders. My old Review: I’ve lost 38+ pounds since using the Lose It App! I love everything about this app although I do have a few suggestions I’m hoping the developers will take into consideration. 1. Expand the food data base. 2. For the “Recipes” category, you should be able to create folders so you can organize your recipes. (Ex: You can create a folder for breakfast recipes, lunch, dinner, etc) That would really take creating recipes to the next level. 3. Under “My Food”, you should be able to add different foods. I wanted to add Wyman’s Just Fruit to my food catalog but there was no option to. 4. When creating recipes, there should be an option to move your added ingredients into any order you want. Get those changes going and my rating will be a 5 star!.Version: 14.3.700

A Little Attention to the App & I Lose WeightI wrote my first review when I was 58. Now I am 63, and I’m still using this app. I’ve was able to get to my goal weight and maintain it in the long term using the app. First of all, by using the app daily for about a year, I learned how to eat. With that knowledge, I don’t use the app daily now. I simply eat the right amount of food and maintain my weight. But there are times like during the holidays or on vacation when I eat more and gain weight quickly, usually 5 pounds in a week. When that happens, I use the app daily again until I get back down to my goal weight. I use the app enough times each year that I went ahead and purchased the lifetime membership. I feel this app is my partner in maintaining a healthy, feel-good weight for me. Old review: I am 58, and I find that the weight goes on much more easily than it comes off. I tried a few different diets to get my weight under control, but they all limited the types of food I could eat and either didn’t work at all or only worked in the short term. With this app, I’ve gone from gaining more than 10 pounds per year to losing 8 pounds in 3.5 months. I simply log everything I eat, log my exercise and stick to my calorie budget. If I have a day that I am over budget, I make it up within the same week so that I am within the weekly budget. No type of food is forbidden on this diet, which fits my lifestyle a lot better than more limiting diets. It only takes a few minutes a day to use the app, so it has easily become a new lifestyle habit. I plan to continue to use the app to monitor food intake for weight maintenance..Version: 15.4.300

Simple, easy to use, and effective.I've struggled with weight issues for my entire life. Even though other popular fitness apps like "YourExerciseBuddy" get the limelight, Lose It! just works without all of the hype and corporate sponsorships. I actually enjoy using this because it is easy to tracks calories, macros, and meals. The food database is deep and the ability to scan barcodes is wonderfully helpful. Shared meals and recipes from other users help to fill in gaps as well. It also syncs easily with my Apple Watch and Health kit to incorporate workouts and data. If I had to choose anything to critique it would be this: (1) When searching for food or restaurants in the database, you have to repeat the search term each and every time you make a selection. This is a pain when adding multiple items from one place like Panera Bread or Jimmy John's. I end up copying and pasting the term but saving the previous search would be most helpful. And (2) having the ability to edit the time and date that one enters their blood sugar would be nice. I often check my sugars throughout the day but can't input my numbers into the app until later and it is creating a false timeline of data. Other than those two (small) things, I love this app and give it full marks of support and total recommendation. The weight that I've lost and the muscle I've gained is proof that this works..Version: 12.5.300

Way Better Than Noom!!!!I used Noon for 15 months and used it to its full capacity entering in my own meal recipes, tracking every meal, my daily weight, water intake, steps and exercise. It was a struggle because it took TIME! And there were several things I had to create a “work around” for like accurate macros when meal prepping! I’M IN LOVE WITH LOSE IT!!! I’m diabetic with a congenital heart issue that resulted in open heart surgery 3 years ago to replace my Aortic Valve. I chose a mechanical valve for its longevity since I’m so young. Well, with that choice comes medicines and food restrictions. I MUST be carefully aware of everything I eat and drink! Lose It is truly easy to use, it’s quick, I can enter my recipes and # of servings and it splits out all the macros on a per serving basis which means I can make 8 servings and Freeze 7 of them and record them accurately! Hello time-saving meal prep!!! I’m also loving that I can track my protein as the day progresses and add/withhold as needed!! And honestly…. It took me less than a day to master this app!!! But the best part??? Lose It is 75% less expensive than Noom!!!! I was spending over $225 per year with Noom…. And yesterday, my subscription with Noom ended without warning which irked me… I searched for something else and after trying two other apps that didn’t have what I needed, I found Lose It! So happy I did!.Version: 17.4.200

This IS truly the one!I hardly ever write reviews; even for apps that I really like. But I just had to make an exception here 😌. This app is by far, the most complete, accurate, intuitive, and consistent app out there for tracking, er well, let’s see… JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING!!! I really did not want to have to install 50,000 different apps; “good” ones, but while they may be good at what they do, they do not do everything that I need them to do, therefore, I had to toggle back and forth between apps just to log what I needed to track 😩. One of the best features (and there are many) is the smart food scanner. With it, I can not only barcode scan, but scan the nutrition label and it will read/ copy the label info into the app! When I’m done logging my meal(s), I can even document a picture of what I ate. Couple of other cool features: it has a water-intake tracker, it has a place for special notes, it speaks to my smartwatch, there’s a place to log VARIOUS types of exercises; the list goes on and on. And while this might seem like it would be visually overwhelming, it’s not! The layout and the ease of use are amazing! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 Listen, I swear I don’t work for these people 😂 and I don’t know a soul that does, but folks I’m telling you I’ve been using this app for almost a year and it has been consistently on point! 💜👍🏽😊.Version: 13.6.500

Good app but ive got problems with itI love this app i’ve been using it for multiple years although! Good way to track your calories, exercise, weight, cals burned, and height! One thing i’ve noticed though is throughout the years more features have changed to cost money, which is okay because i don't use a lot of those features, but if you would want those extra features that might be a problem. Another problem i have is theres a step goal you can set! I set my step goal to 5000 a day and was going to increase it but when i clicked it it said i had to pay! This is a little annoying since before it didn't cost money but now it does and i am completely stuck with 5000 steps a day. Thats just a knit-pickin though! Everything else is just dandy. Another thing I'm not a fan of is back in the days with this app they had their exercise tracking super cool, say, treadmill, you could pick how long you did, your distance, and mph! I liked that Alot better than it is now! It only has time and mph now! You could also pick the incline on treadmill individually, like, 1,2,3,4 etc. They got rid of that feature which saddens my heart! Another thing i wish they had kept is with sit-ups or pushups they had individual push ups and sit-ups like, 1,2,3, etc. Have it so you could pick how many you did! All they do now is time which i don't think is very accurate because someone can do 300 pushups in 5 mins but if you just set the time, 5 mins, it don't tell you how many you did, only the calories burned which ain’t very accurate. Beside that this app is better than others i could think of. I give 2 thumbs up..Version: 15.2.100

Was happy, now not so muchI’ve been using this app on and off for years. I love that I can put in my own recipes. It’s great at basic calorie tracking and I paid for extra features this year so I can track carbs and other things. Unfortunately it does not track added sugar. It only tracks sugar as a whole. So fine I have to keep track elsewhere by hand. I can find another tracker next year. But where my frustration comes is from selecting food. Let’s say I eat 1/4 cup of granola. I ate it hours ago and want to quickly add it. I find my granola but my choices are all grams. I don’t know off hand and don’t want to try and do a bunch of conversions at work. So I look for my granola in cups. I scroll through 10 possibilities and then notice they all have different calorie counts for the same amount and supposedly the same item. I select my granola finally thinking I should have the right item and calories count but wow those carbs look extra high. I have to double check the product or find it online. Things I don’t always have time to do. And then I discover the calories are correct but the carbs are wrong. So I end up creating my own food. This has become a constant issue and I double check everything. This was not an issue when I first started with loose it. But I have noticed you can upload your item for everyone. The database is too convoluted and no one appears to be checking what people upload..Version: 15.2.000

Ads are annoying but app is greatAs a typical overweight American, I have spent a ton of money on weight loss aids/diets/supplements with no success. It stands to reason that the miracle cures don’t work or people would stop spending money on them (as they were no longer needed) and the industry would slow. So far - tracking intake is working. I eat what I want and write it all (and I mean all) down. Weight isn’t flying off, but the trend is down! One note so far - even some of the “green check” (verified) calorie counts don’t match the packaging for the product. I push up the serving size to greater than I actually ate in order to bump up the calories to where I think they really are - so it is not entirely turn key. I would have given five stars but paying for a year of the no-ad app was going to be a “reward” at hitting a goal I am still a ways from - the ads were not as horrid until they stopped offering a deep discount. Although I agree the makers should be paid for their cool creation, I am tired of feeling like easy pickings because I eat too much food. Won’t be paying until I reach half way mark and won’t pay at all if I have to pay more than they offered at the start because they will have earned ad income already so paying “up” seems like it’s just charging the desperate fat person more because they’ll pay anything to *maybe* reach their goal..Version: 15.2.501

So helpful & easyAfter my second child my weight just stayed. I was told by my OB that at my sons one year birthday the weight that you have then tends to become your new average. My son was six months old and my weight was not budging, I knew I had to do something but didn’t know how or have the energy to do something complicated. I found out about loose it through reading a blog about calorie deficiency. I knew this seemed like the most logical & healthy way to loose weight and start a better lifestyle but the idea of tracking everything was off putting and seemed to hard. This app (I’m using the free version) is amazing! I’m down approx 3lbs in a week and a half and I’m not hungry. I’m not eating in a way that is not sustainable and the tracker makes it so easy to log and to see what is cased my day to be a success or a failure. I might also add that I started the week of vacation over 4th of July & I still saw success even with going over a few days. Because the tracker makes you aware of what you’re eating even when you “cheat” you’re aware of when and by how much. If you’re thinking about trying to loose weight & are not sure how to start I would highly recommend trying this app. It holds your hand, steps you through & links you to community for support. Good luck to anyone starting- here’s to a healthy, happy lifestyle & leaving Fad diets in the dirt!.Version: 11.3.900

6 yearsI have been using this app on and off for about six years. The first three years I used it religiously and was able to lose just over 100 pounds. I then became pregnant with my miracle girl and since then have used it just to keep myself on track and to lose a few pounds here and there as needed. I have always used the free version and not only do I love keeping my calories in check and being able to easily log foods with the barcode the weight log has worked wonders for me. I am not really focused on a number anymore, ever since I hit my goal of 100 pounds. I just like to feel good in my clothes and sometimes I will see an old picture of myself and think oh I really looked great in that photo I love the fact that I can look back and see what weight I was at at that point in my journey and compare it to where I am currently. It gives me a good gauge if maybe I am slipping a little bit or maybe I am just feeling down and out and I’m actually the same weight or even less, and just need to focus on my self-esteem, not a number on a scale. Everyone asks me how I do it and maintain and I always recommend this app highly. My sister has also had great success with the app after I recommended it and lost over 60 pounds two years ago . I appreciate this tool so much and will continue to use..Version: 17.2.600

This app will help you lose the weight stay healthy and disciplined!I tried this app the first time and I don’t think I was in the mindset to succeed so I stopped and then the next year…. I had a better mindset so I started again. I’ve been on it steadily since about March of this year and boy oh boy! I’m even surprised how disciplined I am…but this app makes it easy for you to be disciplined because it has a lot of foods in the system already plus you can scan a barcode and put that food in . Be really honest with yourself on the amounts whether it’s ounce or one each or whatever measurement you’re using be honest because you’re only lying to yourself - Loseit doesn’t judge, they support. Loseit is there to support you all the way-if you’re a social person- great- you can chitchat with everybody there’s a lot of people supporting each other. I’m more private (this is a battle between me myself and I so I don’t need any encouragement I just look in the mirror or get on the scale and there is my motivation!) NEW FEATURE I LOVE: you can automatically add Or delete or add then edit typical breakfast lunch or dinner‘s that Loseit sees a pattern with- they made that editing MUCH MUCH EASIER - thank you Loseit ! I am 8 pounds from my final goal weight and I have you to thank for it ! I’m so glad you’re on my team. WOOHOO 🎉🥳.Version: 14.4.601

Loseit! + discipline = weight lossFor 3/5 of my life, due to severe injuries and illness, I've been waffling the border of overweight and obesity. For the first time in almost a decade, my health was stable, so I figured I'd make dedicated effort over the summer of losing weight (I was 220lbs/100kg). Loseit! was an app recommended by my pedometer app, and I kind of got it on a whim. 😅 I love to eat, have my Dad's sweet tooth, and am (more than) a bit lazy (ok, just highly unmotivated)... none of that is good for weight loss, so every bit helps, right? Well, I got a scale, started counting calories with the app (the free one, not premium), and went walking or biking depending on weather. It is a bit over 100 days later, and I've lost 50lbs/23kg. I'm going to keep going another 20-30lbs/9-14kg, though at a slower rate for the holidays. 😉 Self discipline is really important to how successful you'll be, though. If you don't log everything (I know it is inconvenient/a pain/insert opinion here), but not doing so is pretty much setting yourself up for failure. I'm not saying 'don't eat sugary foods/that one food that's bad for you that is a guilty pleasure', that would be hypocritical of me (again: I love food & have a huge sweet tooth. There is no way I'm ever not going to eat what I want). I'm saying that if weight loss is important to you, you won't cheat yourself by fudging your log. Be brutally honest with yourself. It helps put what you're eating into perspective. 😁.Version: 9.1.4

So encouraging! But needs more fresh foodI've used My Fitness Pal and Carb Manager in the past, but I'm enjoying Lose It a lot more. The interface seems more supportive and encouraging. It tracks patterns and offers feedback, such as "On days you eat bananas you eat 50 less calories over all." While the system does stretch the facts a bit sometimes (When I checked the chart which showed all the days I ate bananas, 3 days I ate under my calories, but 2 other days I ate over) I still appreciate the positive reinforcement for my good behaviors. The feature I really like that the system will calculate the day you will reach your goal after 7 days of tracking your food. While this number should be taken with a grain of salt (it's calculate purely by math, and doesn't take into account any variables such as health issues, increasing your muscle mass from working out, etc) it's really motivsting to think, "If I stick to my diet, I can be at my goal weight in 6 months". I took off 1 star for the limitations of their food database. Doesn't anyone who uses this app cook??!! Or eat fresh food?? I tried to search for "strawberry" and all the results were strawberry jam, strawberry pie, strawberry short cake, etc. It would be great if they could introduce an official list of fresh foods into the database, so I don't have to scroll through 20 entries about lemon custard or lemon rosemary fish before finding lemon juice. They could follow MFP and mark these fresh entries with a special symbol showing that they're "verified" correct and matching with the USDA database..Version: 14.2.100

WoW! I am a happy Loser! Are You?Best app I ever used for steady weight loss!!!... it’s very encouraging to see that even when I feel like I dropped the ball and had a bad day, as far as having eaten to much, that the app doesn’t give up on me but rather motivates me to keep going and not give up on myself! This App TRULY gives me hope and a practical game plan daily. It divides my calories up per meal (4 meals) and suggest the allotted calories it recommends.... and hey! I know this thing is just an app/calculator but if you let it it can be so much more. Lastly, this app Allows you to take pics of your food daily/each meal, scan bar codes (way easier logging on the run and jetting out the door!). It’s not crazy complicated either. I love it! Honestly, when I can afford premium I am all about it!!! It teases you a bit and gives you examples of premium App privileges but it’s not to pushy either. From what I can see, premium offers dietitian planned meal plans, recipes, GROCERY LISTS & SUGGESTIONS ON WHERE TO SHOP!!! (Yes!!!... so much easier while raising a family) Ok, so enough said! This app speaks for itself. Try it! Work It! Love it! & Lose it! P.S. if I created this App I would have called it My Body Accountant or My Personal Body Life Coach! or how about My Bestie? 😄 (seri doesn’t hold a candle to this app) ....That is how good it is! 👍🏻😊🍇🥂Cheers!!!...all ya happy Losers out there 😜 (lol).Version: 9.2.2

Great app and support is spot onI switched over to this app after MyFitnessPal removed the barcode feature from the free version and I have no regrets. The app works and works great and when I had trouble with a bug I ran into, their support responded almost immediately and kept in constant communication with me (which tells me they genuinely care). I’ve already started losing weight with this app and the optional push notifications really help remind me when I might’ve forgotten to log a meal (which I sometimes do) and helped motivate me to continue to use the app on days when I’m being lazy or when I know I’ve gone over and don’t want to log I was over. I ended up paying for premium (TOTALLY WORTH IT!) as I thought the option to have less calories during the week and more calories during the weekend fit my lifestyle perfectly as well as the intermittent fasting reminders that alert me when I should stop eating at night. The fasting reminders alone have significantly helped me sleep better as I don’t get indigestion while laying down cause I ate too much too late. Overall this app has significantly improved my life in many minor ways and the support team behind the app makes me feel like they genuinely care about their customers and not only their customer’s money..Version: 14.6.501

So easy!I have tried dozens of 'weight loss' methods, some successful, some not...but I didn't want a 'method', I wanted a relatively easy way of making eating mostly healthy food with normal portions a long-term lifestyle! I chose the 'lose 1&1/2 lbs per week' option, and it was super easy to track my food all day, just a click here and there as you go along, so I never skipped logging a single meal! Even if that meal was a bag of chips and a few candy bars - no one is going to see it but you, so make yourself a deal up front: you can eat whatever you choose, good or ‘bad’, but no matter what, you ALWAYS write it down! :) I am more than 5 pounds UNDER my goal weight, and have stayed at or below my goal without any effort at all; and this is coming from a lifetime dieter. I just eat when I’m hungry - healthy or junk - but I still write it down. Makes staying at goal somehow magically possible...try it! I lost even more weight than my plan estimated in my first five weeks, and never did I feel it was too much trouble or that I couldn't take the time (and with 6 small children, most involved 'get healthy' plans are just too complicated to fit into my day!). I've even started making exercise a priority, (walks, mostly) noticing how it makes me feel and seeing all those extra calories burned! This app also gave me a great perspective on exactly how much food I really need, and how many calories things 'cost'...when you have a calorie 'budget' to spend however you want, YOU start to prioritize and decide on your own what foods are worth splurging on, and what foods you don't really want that much - no mindless munching! :).Version: 9.1.12

Not working, was refundedI have reached out to the developers on multiple occasions to ask for assistance because the app is not working as it is supposed to, and while they have been responsive and very nice, the issue was never fixed. I had the paid version and selected the plan called “flexible weekender” however, each day after I entered my calories which were within my daily limit, the next day the app would show that I was not within my calorie budget. What happened was the following day the app automatically changed my calorie budget for the previous day. So I would have a budget of 1200 calories and I would record all of my meals that day within budget and save/complete my food log for the day. The following day the app showed that on the previous day I went over budget and the calorie budget looked like 750 calories or something crazy. I also had the app set on “1200 calorie safe minimum” so my budget was never supposed to go below that, but it still did, so that feature did not work. It is still doing this but I have realized if I reset my plan and create a fixed calorie budget that it will work okay. I have reset my plan multiple times now because at some point the app starts messing up the calorie budget again. The great news is that I have steadily lost weight since starting the app (I have just had to pay very good attention to my numbers and adjust for the app errors). I continue to use the app because I have found a way to make it work. But I would not pay for it again since it is only like 50% functional and can be a danger to your health if you are not paying attention..Version: 14.6.800

Nutritionist approved !!!I have my MS in Nutrition and I still struggled with weight loss because of the weight I gained during my studies from stress (about 25lbs). I really like this app a lot. I’ve lost about 10lbs the healthy way. Logging your food makes you accountable. I realized it’s hard for me to lose 2lbs a week. I switched to 1 lb a week which is about 4lbs a month. I don’t feel like I’m starving. It accounts for exercise too if you add it in so you don’t calorie crash. Through this app I was able to study my eating habits. I realized I needed more protein, fiber, and water which help curb hunger. I can track my sugar and alcohol consumption and try to make better choices so I don’t binge eat after or the next day by eating more protein instead to curb sugar cravings and abstaining from how many drinks I have and saving alcohol usage for social events with family and friends. This apps helps you identify your bad habits in your diet and correct them through goals. I have protein goals, sugar goals, water goals, sleep goals etc. I noticed on the nights I sleep less, the following day I am hungrier and eat more calories. I could go on, but I will end with my opinion that this app is simple enough for new members, and advanced enough for someone with more knowledge and experience..Version: 15.2.000

The only tracker I’ve been able to stick toI never leave reviews on apps unless they blow my mind. I’ve tried tracking my macros before and after a week I was done, I either got bored or just forgot to log my meals. I decided to try this one and so far I’m loving it, I started the free version and I liked it, somehow I was able to not forget lol, I think the fact that is so easy to see where your calories are going, the daily and weekly breakdown, adjusting goals made it easier to keep going, I also like the bonus calories of how much you actually move daily. I ended up getting the annual subscription when a flash deal showed up because I wanted to track my fiber intake and I was very curious about the insights it could offer and I have to say, I’m very impressed. The more you track the better tips it gives me to adjust my meals; it tells me the foods that I eat that contributed the most to keep track with my goals and the ones that keep me off of them. Now I’m able to track my fasting window, my sleep and fat percentage as well (I have the body pod that tells me that), for anyone that tracks blood pressure and glucose it could be very helpful. I highly recommend if you have trouble actually sticking to tracking, it is very easy to navigate!.Version: 18.1.500

I find it usefulI don't use any social bits, but appreciate the ability to create my own foods data, & retrieve & copy (& adjust) previous meals for quick adds; and adjust quickly-added My Foods w/ more refined data later if I want. Having a spot for brand name is very helpful in identifying foods. As is the barcode scanner. Also like the nutrition graph & macro chart for the day & week-to-date. And having a spot to put Exercise data. In addition to walking, I have been swimming, so in logging in swim distances, I just use a separate calculator and yards/1760 gives me miles swam to enter into Lose It, and get an estimate of calories' worth. Being able to tell friends at work that a certain cookie I am turning down is worth "5 laps at pool" has made the peer pressure to indulge back off. (Most friends don't swim, so 5 laps sounds like a fairly big deal of effort to them. And to me also! ;-) A few months ago I started getting Days Streaks of logging in. I guess I didn't realize you needed to mark each day as 'Done logging in' for that to kick in. Now however, I am motivated to do that! Having 125 days streak - I don't want to lose that and start over, being told I am on a '1 day streak' because I missed. I use the alert setting to remind me at end of day. Lost 52 lbs in seven months, so far. 30 or so to go..Version: 9.1.12

Latest UI updates aren’t touch-friendlyI love Lose It and have a lifetime membership, but the latest updates make it difficult to tap to the next day without accidentally opening the calendar. I don’t have particularly big fingers either. I’m also noticing that the weekly view is calculating the whole week, including future days that I’ve planned out but haven’t happened yet. While I can see a benefit to this, it adds complication to figuring out my actual, consumed calories so far. I would also love it if there could be a 5:2 fasting option for the IF settings. The IF settings in place are fairly rigid and only eating window based. My fasting days aren’t consecutive. UPDATE: I just noticed the new card layout for adding foods. I’m sure I’ll eventually get used to how much extra space this takes up, but the Meals tab is where this is a problem. It’s got a different card for each meal of each day which makes it harder to skim for the specific date I’m looking for. If I know I want to copy the snack from two days ago, for example, it would be significantly easier if there was one card for the entire day with a plus button for each meal within so that I’m not accidentally adding the wrong Thursday meal. When you skip breakfast some days, you’re going to have an uneven number of meal cards for each day, which adds challenge to visual scanning..Version: 18.1.500

Long time user - Disappointed with iPhone/Apple watch connectivity issuesI’ve used LoseIt for years as a major component of my weight and health management. It is a great app and I pay for the premium services to track things like glucose and other details you can’t get in the free version. It’s easy to use and really does what it says it will do. However, for the past 2-3 years I have been experiencing worsening problems with the app in iPhone while having the app connected to Apple Health and my Apple Watch. I have raised this issue with support in the past, to no avail. Lately the app has been particularly slow and difficult to use on iPhone - frozen screens, slow to load, slowness switching screens, unable to search meals tab without the app freezing completely requiring me to close it and restart. I contacted support, and they advised they have no fix for this and do not anticipate having one any time soon, and that the answer is to disconnect Apple health and my watch from the app. Unfortunately that defeats the purpose of the Apple Watch for me, which is to be able to seamlessly and accurately track my workouts in the app. I do not have any of these issues with the iPad version of the app. Unfortunately this means I am forced to reconnect apple health and my Apple Watch, and just deal with the latency. I hope support fixes this issue in the future..Version: 15.1.300

Good but sluggish. Malicious reports. Avoid long termIn almost every aspect this app works great, save performance. I’m not sure if it’s just unoptimized or if it can’t handle it’s enormous food database, but even on the latest and greatest iPhone it becomes unresponsive for at least 5 seconds whenever I try to log a new meal. This makes it frustrating to use, and I’ve found myself logging less and less because of it. I’ve used this app for years (and had a steak of over two years of logging every day) and the performance has gotten worse over time. Maybe it can’t handle the number of logs past a certain point, but you’d think they’d archive off older logs to prevent this. Another issue is the weekly report. I’ve been tracking the numbers from the report for years as well, and the report intentionally mangles the column order of the embedded table in the email each week to make it harder to paste into a spreadsheet (I have to rearrange the columns in my spreadsheet every time). This would be a moot point if they offered their own historical reports, but they seem content to only go back one week for the emails. If you’re looking for an app to log meals for a limited time, I highly recommend it. If you’re trying to establish a new normal where logging meals long term is the goal, I’d look elsewhere and definitely wouldn’t subscribe for more than a year (my lifetime sub is looking less of a deal these days)..Version: 12.4.500

Great for weight loss but lately has been buggyFirst off I wanna say I love this app it has really helped me lose weight by tracking and being aware of what I eat and how active I am! That being said lately it’s been kind of buggy. Not sure how to explain what happens but will try and hope it makes sense, but when I click on something say to enter my food it will pop up and then go away before I have the chance to write anything so I’ll have to click the plus sign again. Also, I used to be able to keep adding my food to my meal and then when I was finished hit done on the top right side. But as of today, 1/16,19, I’ll add a food and then the search menu will close. So now I have to open it again to add the next thing and it closes and I have to keep doing that Over and over until I’m done and it’s really inconvenient. I really believe it’s just a bug that should be looked into, I use this all day long so please please look into it. Not sure if anyone else has complained about this so just wanted to make you guys aware. Besides that I love how easy this app makes it to track my food. I was this close👌🏼 to downloading and paying for weightwatchers right when I found this and I’m so glad i did. So thanks to the people who made this app possible and made my life and weight loss journey that much easier! But please fix the bugs 😅😅😅.Version: 9.7.1

Lost 40 lbs with this app - LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!Found myself so overweight and sluggish, embarrassed and feeling so uncomfortable and just not well. I had used Lose It some time ago with some results - but I wasn’t serious or committed back then. When I saw the scales reach all time highs I had to do something and so brought back my old friend Lose It- this time I upgraded (but the free version works well too!) and really set my course and have been fairly diligent on tracking carbs, calories, fat, water intake, exercise, steps, blood pressure- it’s all there and more if you want it too. It is so easy to use and I almost made a game of it everyday to align with the caloric and carb intake - it was a challenge. The app has great database of info and scanning is so easy - it helped count everything and guided what I ate and credited me with additional calories I could have when I exercised everyday. Kept me on track and kept me going- especially seeing my results. 40 pounds down and I will continue to use the app to help me maintain. After awhile, you learn how much you should have and the proper portion sizes of what kind of protein, veg, grain, or fruit, etc. love the app- it’s straightforward, easy to use, has a vast database, and helpful blogs and articles. Highly recommend!.Version: 15.5.700

It works really wellThis app originally taught me so much about what to eat/not eat (ordering the salad isn’t necessarily better than the burger) and now it just helps me to stay conscious when I need to. There were years in between when I didn’t track, but after hitting menopause I need to be a bit smarter about my macros and limit my sugar/booze, and I still want to be able to enjoy both within moderation. I like to have a buddy to share my EOD counts with, that makes it fun. When we go over we can commiserate and it keeps us both from giving up. I can preplan my meals on days when I’m going to a party or out with friends, so I can pig out without gaining. Pro tip: set the app to lose 1/2 lb a week most of the time, you can lose slowly without feeling hungry or desperate. If I set it higher I struggle, but at the lower setting I can go long term without feeling like I’m losing out on the joy of eating well. I did get quite thin once, people got concerned for me, so then I set it to maintenance so I could learn how to just maintain. I used a couple of other apps but this one is the best for me. It’s the fastest for logging because of the My Foods list, Recipes and the Meals copying, it’s just much more user friendly than the others I tried..Version: 18.3.100

Awesome appI have lost about 90 pounds in the last year thanks in part to this app and its calorie and exercise tracking abilities. If I could change anything I would only make two suggestions. There used to be the ability to set the calories burned during things like cardio. When weight lifting for a duration and an intensity then the method of choosing from those two combinations is helpful. But with cardio, let's say on the elliptical, you can see how much you burn. Maybe you only had time to go for 30 minutes, which burned 373 calories. But you can only choose between intensity and duration, which creates estimates of what the amount of calories burned was. So it makes it harder to record accurately in that sense. The app brought back being able to manually enter things like ounces and grams, which is helpful since meal prepping can only be so precise. I recommend they being that back. The app offers great motivational messages. Lose It does not overdo notifications or reminders. However, one bug I notice is their constant adds when you open the app. It takes a second to load, so while I am entering a meal or a workout the screen freezes and then I accidentally clicked an add of theirs that takes up most of the screen. It is so annoying because it also says things along the lines of "last chance for 20, 30, 50% off". I understand an add, but it specifically when I am clicking through the app. Those are my two grievances. The app is easy to use and user friendly. Fun badges can be earned to motivate the user. I appreciate that. There are customizable profiles—that draws certain people in and it allows you to share your progress..Version: 11.5.100

In Love!Ok sooo, I have NEVER liked counting calories and I HAVE tried calorie tracking apps before. They were boring and not engaging enough. End result, I ended up deleting them never to attempt again. I came across “Lose It” by accident looking for a diet app specifically for recipes-and O.M.G.?! Can I just say how I appreciate the breakdown that is given to you in a day, not only in calorie consumption but also educating you on macronutrients! I not only have a better understanding in how much I eat but also WHAT I EAT! I had nooooo idea how much I needed to really change the specific foods I was eating. The app itself is just perfect to me in breaking down so much more then counting calories. And as silly as it may seem, I thought there wasn’t much else I needed to know. But with this app, I’ve learned so much in so little time. Like I’m soooo excited now to continue my Journey in getting healthy again. All this time, I feel like I was in the dark...I love how you know how many calories left you have to eat or not eat in a day. I love how you can weigh in each day. I mean there’s too much to list. It’s super simplified. And I do feel in a way held accountable to keep up with it. It’s an awesome app layout. Please don’t change this app, it’s perfect for me! Lol.Version: 13.3.200

10+yr CustomerI have had this app since October 2014. I remember giving feedback when it first launched to help with recommendations or upgrades suggested. Being a customer for almost 10 years shows how much I have enjoyed this app, and have been very loyal. I have tried other apps just to see the comparison, and I always revert back to this one quickly possibly because of comfort, knowing how to keep things in I just think it is more beneficial than others that I found. It helps keep track of my calorie intake. I absolutely love the discoveries it’s recently started to disclose giving me feedback on healthy habits and behaviors. For example, “we notice you are better on days you eat this particular food or drink this specific drink with staying on track with your calories”, but most of all love that it gives me when my expected goal would be hit based on my every day activities, and my overall logging information. The one thing I’m very disappointed in recently, which drove me to doing this review was that it no longer allows you to simply scan a item for it to automatically login all the information. That now requires a subscription so that is why I’m only rating this a four-star because that’s a simple service to this app that was a huge perk..Version: 16.1.200

Way better than other appsThis app is amazing even using the free version, and the fee for premium is far less than other apps. It’s basically the cost of going out to dinner once or twice, for an entire year. USE THE PREMIUM. I didn’t think it would be worth the functionality, but bought it anyway to support the app since I’m getting so much use out of it. The premium functions will reveal key information to you. For example, my highest contributor to saturated fat by far was an occasional slice of reduced fat swiss cheese (yikes lol). I was getting way too much sodium from using tuna as a regular protein source. Baby carrots are my best source of fiber, by far better than any whole grain items lol. I thought mini candy canes were no big deal occasionally because of the low calories, but they managed to top the list for simple carbs...and I didn’t even eat very many of them! It’s amazing to see this charted out for you, and allows for simple changes to what you’re eating for big gains to your health. The free version of the app is great as well, extremely easy to use, nice clean uncluttered interface, and easy to chart your calories and macronutrients. Tells you how many calories you have left for the day. Easy to re-enter foods that you eat a lot, since they will pop up at the top of the list in the same quantity as last time (but you can adjust quantity quickly as well). Doesn’t constantly give you annoying pop-ups recommending premium upgrade like some other apps. I definitely recommend using this, it’s really worth the small amount of time it takes to enter the foods you’re eating. You might think you know everything about your diet, but you’ll probably find some new info using this app..Version: 11.6.600

I never thought I’d say this about a calorie tracker but...This is one of the best apps I’ve ever found. It’s one of the easiest to use calorie tracker apps I’ve ever tried (and the only one I’ve been able to stick to using!). I use the free version, and even though I can’t track my macros or water (you need premium for that), it is so easy to see what I’m really eating compared to what my goals are. For the first few days, i didnt try to limit myself at all, just ate what i would normally eat in the amounts i would normally have and saw just how much i was eating compared to what it said i should be for my goals (i was eating about an extra 400 cals a day) and then slowly lowered my calories per day to what the app suggested for my goals. It even lets you know if it finds patterns in what you’re eating that are helpful to your goals (it pointed out that on days i eat chicken, i eat fewer calories overall). It’s super user friendly, and you can either look up brands of your foods or use the barcode scanner to find them more quickly. Only issue I’ve found is that sometimes it measures portions in different amounts than the box says (like I’ll say I’m eating mac and cheese and it’ll ask me how many grams of food instead of cups or w/e). Overall, highly recommended!.Version: 11.5.100

Been using it for 12 years but I expect more by nowI’ve been using this app for a little over 12 years on and off. Not the premium version. I use the basic. I started at 190lbs which was the highest weight I ever got to until then. I’m 5’ 8” female 34yo now. Then I gained 10lbs while using the app for a year but it helped me see what I was taking in, then I blasted all the way down to 146lbs in the next two years using the app on and off. Since then I have gone between my highest points being 165lbs and my lowest points being 145lbs. So I’ve consistently kept the 30lbs off, I just have a roller coaster with the last 20lbs. Basically everytime I start to go into the 160s I bust out the app again. The timeline on the app is a record of my last 12 years which is incredibly helpful. My beef with the app is that I truly expect so much more from it now. I hope to see some major changes soon with AI and what not. It takes a long time to log everything you eat so this makes it really inconvenient to keep up with it. I would hope that by now the database would have much more foods in there correctly and faster ways of putting it in correctly. It’s so annoying to have to put your own foods in there cuz it takes a long time. And it’s frustrating when the scanner can’t pick up on the barcode or the barcode doesn’t have info for the food. Which has been like 50% of the time, especially since I buy all sorts of brands and I’m always trying new things. So I never got the premium because I don’t think the premium would address the problems I have with the app. I could be wrong. But either way, at this point I hope this app tries to stay competitive and gets more into the AI stuff to make everything faster and easier.Version: 16.5.300

Helping me live longer.I am thankful for the Lose It! App. It makes it easy to track my calories and nutrients each day. After I turned 40 I really wanted to commit to good health. I’ve really enjoyed the smart way this app engages me and helps me track that progress with real time charts and forecasts. Seeing my future and visually seeing daily charts for my calorie intake helps me directly correlate my short and long term progress. The app also always seems to have the right foods or equivalents in its database, though I would like more of the entry nutrients and correct amounts to be more accurate, the app finds the right calories almost always. It provides a weekly running total of my progress in terms of calories, which helps me cheat a bit more on a day where I might be ahead of my weight loss goal for the week. It also lets you customize a lifestyle calorie plan too based on your exercise level and if you want to be able to account for more calories on the weekend. These to me, are thoughtful approaches to dieting and weight management written by a team who really gets it. I am honestly mostly writing this for them. I wanted to say thanks for making an awesome app that did real good in someone’s life. Thank you!.Version: 15.2.400

It the only thing that has worked for me!It doesn’t matter what kind of diet you’re following, calories are what matter for weight loss. You could be eating keto, low-carb, low sugar, or the endless choices of diet plans out there, but ultimately what matters for weight loss is how much energy you’re taking in (calories) and how much energy you’re using. This is the first time I’ve actually tried the Lose It! app and have stuck with it consistently in combo with daily exercise. Keeping a log on my calories gives me the perimeters to stay within instead of just guessing. If I really want that drumstick ice cream cone at the end of the day, I know I’m going to eat a little less calories for lunch or dinner, and I may work out a little longer at the gym that day. I love when I add in exercise the calorie count immediately zooms backwards which means I can eat a more and still stay within my calorie limit amount for the day. If I didn’t have this app I don’t think I’d be progressing at all. I’ve lost 6 lbs already. I’m glad I payed for the full version, and not just using the free version anymore. I had the free version for a few years and I never really stuck with it. Now I am using it consistently every day, and I absolutely would recommend it to anyone who is serious about changing their lives and trying to lose weight once and for all. Even if it’s just 20 lbs you want to lose, it will help you meet your goals so much easier and make you see how much food is too much for your goals. I was eating pretty much the the same size meals as my 285 pound husband! But I’m 5’0” tall! I should not be eating that much! Using this app was a wake up call and has taught me so much about eating for weight loss..Version: 11.4.100

Great for long-term useI’ve been using Lose It! off and on for over 10 years. I do use the paid version of this app bc I like to plan ahead and add meals that I know I’ll be eating throughout the week. I love many of the features and updates. One of my favorite updates is adding a recipe with a website link - the info just automatically populates into the recipe and then you can adjust it based on app errors (ex. misunderstanding the recipe ingredients) or what you plan to substitute/replace. The next update I’d like to see is being able to add the time for the whole meal in the 3-dot menu icon (3 dots in the top right of each meal - whatever that’s called!) vs. adding the time for each individual ingredient or food item. Another feature that would be nice is if the app could determine added vs. naturally occurring sugar. I track added sugar so using the “sugar” feature in macros is not very useful for me personally. My work-around is reviewing every ingredient and nutrition label and then tracking in the Notes section (which, I should mention, the addition of the Notes section is very appreciated!) Overall, this app has kept me satisfied over the years with my nutrition tracking. I look forward to more updates as developers learn ways to add more features!.Version: 16.4.102

The best all in one health tracker!I’ve been using Lose It for years. I had it back in college even but stopped using it then. I hopped back into it last year though and it’s helped me reach my goals I never thought I could. It’s really a wonderful option for tracking nutrition and weight loss progress! My only issue I consistently have is with the food options. It honestly has most food options at this point. It’s very rare I have to enter something completely new. But holy cow the auto-correct in food tracking is an absolute nightmare for me. It has no mechanism to learn food names you regularly use or anything. It’s the Lose It specific search tool, not iOS. I’ll type “Built” for my protein bars and it without asking searches for “guilt”. I’ll type Seeq for my protein drink and it auto searches for “seed”. It forces you to press this blue text below that says something like to search “seeq” click it. There really needs to be an improvement to the text input here or they need to completely get rid of this auto switching to properly spelled words. There are tons of food company names that aren’t spelled right or commonly so this can happen regularly and it gets old. The thing is if it didn’t autocorrect my commonly used ones would pop up right at the top every time. But this auto-correct in app messes that up..Version: 17.5.201

Great appI used it for 38 days and lost 12-15lbs. I combined a 1600 calorie diet with five or six 40km rides per week. I used the free version but it's worth paying for, especially if you are going to be using it for a few months. Incredible results mainly bc I could easily count everything. That you can scan barcodes makes it pretty snappy too..Version: 9.1.4

GreatReally helps tracking what you eat. I always thought I didn’t eat anything today. Funny how I forgot the 4 cheeseburgers and 5 beers..Version: 12.1.300

Changed my life...This app helped me lose 60lbs. I really want to take the time to thank whoever created this app and appreciate them. It helped me get through my journey of weight loss and I can't be more thankful. It helped me to be able to eat without guilt since I could track the calories and I could see my progress every week. One of the greatest challenges that I had to get through was losing weight and I did it because of this app and I'm really proud. Thank you thank you so much, regards to the creator. 💜.Version: 9.2.6

Prompt Bug FixesExcellent support and worth the subscription. Thanks!.Version: 13.2.700

Ads Ads Ads3 stars but should be 5, once a great app is now riddled with ads. Having a video pop up ad after entering all foods is annoying and tedious. I.Version: 17.2.600

It worksIt is my most effective health habit. Log EVERYTHING, LOG EVERYDAY. Some days are green some days are red. But slowly and surely, you will retrain your eating habits..Version: 11.6.600

Absolutely awesome!!!This app rocks!!! I was struggling to lose the 50lbs that showed up with perimenopause and the stress of COVID in 2020 and was about to ask my doctor for a GLP-1 medication when I decided to try the Lose It app. As a WW lifetime member, I understood the benefits of tracking - but now that I have been diagnosed both celiac and lactose intolerant, I found I couldn’t fit my nutritional needs into their “points” system. I love being able to track my macros, the informative newsletters, the intermittent fasting, and the other health tracking this app offers. In the first month, I’ve lost over 8lbs!!! I bought a lifetime subscription to Lose It..and can’t recommend it enough!.Version: 17.2.600

UsefulUseful and not pushy.Version: 9.1.4

ExcellentThis app is easy to use. It has tons of foods preloaded. - much more than Weight Watchers..Version: 9.1.4

Food Database is tediousBeyond the fact that the premium prompts are quite invasive, i think the app is nice overall. That being said i’ve switched to another app because i found the food search and entries overrun with branded options. Searching for something simple like avocado will bombard you with every branded product that mentions avocado before you just find a plane fruit to enter. It makes calorie counting, an already tedious process, doubly so..Version: 17.2.700

Great start, poor user experienceI was sold by the on-boarding experience of Loseit. The question-based setup resonated with me, and upon entry, the interface felt familiar and clear. Unfortunately, after purchasing for the year, the experience is definitely front loaded. There’s a constant stream of ads for lifetime subscriptions and their health content. Most of that content costs extra so what you essentially end up with is a tracker. This would be fine if that’s what you were sold, but you’re definitely sold a supportive, health application, which it is not. The app is useable but disappointing..Version: 16.3.300

Scanner no longer workingThe scanner is no longer working well. After its new look it’s unreliable..Version: 17.1.400

Almost perfectFirst the good. It is very easy to input a new entry for food and calorie. There is no need to choose an exact food. Every other calorie tracking app over complicates this by demanding you choose a specific food or ingredient for the entry. Now the bad. The subscription is misleading. It suggests it will be a monthly payment and then it turns out to be a yearly payment. Also I still get ads to buy another yearly subscription. Why are you trying to sell me something I already purchased?.Version: 17.0.200

Nikocado avocado challenge gone wrongI drank so much oil why hasn't it alerted the authorities yet.Version: 16.2.500

Works ok.Excessive nagging to make me pay for 1 year. I finally gave in and paid them their money. I don’t see any difference in the app except now they nag me to pay for a permanent account..Version: 16.2.401

ChangesOverall, the app is great. I’ve been using it for the past past decade (off and on). I’ve recently opened it back up to find some changes to the basic membership (which, costs nothing). I am disappointed to see that the “scan to log” option using your mobile device’s camera is now locked behind a paywall. While this by no means makes the app useless, it does make me less inclined to continue using it. Introduce NEW features for your different sub tiers. Don’t move non-paid features to a paid tier. Seems like a disingenuous tactic..Version: 16.1.201
