ECG Guide App Comments & Reviews

ECG Guide Positive Reviews

Excellent Resource!I am a career RN working in a very busy emergency room/chest pain center and must interpret and manage patients with a wide range of rhythms. After purchasing and reviewing all the content, this application will prove to be a good supplemental resource for myself and will assist me in training new nurses. There is a decent range of rhythms, spot on content, and it is provided in a relatively simple layout and format. Vertical to horizontal transitions could be smoother though. Other improvements could include concise separate listing of the most common rhythms with examples so the user does not have to sort through the content. Thanks for a clean, accurate ECG guide for a fair price..Version: 0

Good reference appThis is an excellent ECG reference. It won’t teach you how to read an ECG - that’s not the purpose. It IS a great reference for criteria you might not use every day such as voltage criteria for LVH. Ignore the low ratings - they all appear to be people who misunderstood the purpose of the app and are annoyed at their mistake, not users with functional concerns..Version: 6.1

Excellent resourceI’m an acute care NP working in a cardiology practice for twenty years. ECG interpretation is something I do multiple times each day. I like to have reference resources and I think I’ve tried most all of those available from the App Store. ECG Guide remains my go to for its accuracy and clarity..Version: 6.1

Not for normal public- for medical personnel onlyI wanted to interpret my ECG so I bought this app. It wasn’t saying anything about uploading ECG and interpreting it. So I got confused. After I bought it’s just like medical booklet for ECG which normal people won’t understand at all. So app is not bad but they need to clearly say about what exactly its for and it’s not for normal people..Version: 6.1

A cardiology resident’s best friendI am a Med/Peds rural ER provider. This has helped me over the years. Thorough and accurate! Plus it has a quiz function to test your knowledge..Version: 6.1

Satisfied!I found this app to be very useful whenever I come across a rhythm that I'm having some trouble interpreting. I'm an ER nurse and this has become a valuable tool for me. I highly recommend this app to those who work on the floor or in the field as a quick reference but of course people have to understand that interpreting an EKG rhythm strip is based on certain criterias; rate, regularity, length of PRI, QRS, etc. You don't just look at how the waves look like to categorize a rhythm. Even seasoned nurses make that mistake. Doctors too. You can show a rhythm strip to a bunch of docs and nurses and don't be surprised if each one of them has a different interpretation from each other. It takes a lot of practice to be able to identify rhythms. Like I said, it's good to have this app handy as a reference especially when you feel like you need to back up your interpretation of an EKG strip..Version: 0

Very nice ecg appThere are several ecg apps and this is my favorite. It had tons of content and ecg examples. It can help you learn to read ecgs or to read them better. I bought the in app purchase "Qx ECG Analyzer" to check it out. It adds to the usefulness of the app and is only 99 cents (I would have preferred though it be part of the original purchase). It asks you a few questions then offers suggestions as to what the rhythm might be. I will do a walk through: Heart Rate? <100 bpm or >100 bpm (these are buttons and you select one, I chose >100) QRS Width? <120 msec or >120 msec (I chose >120) Regular? Yes or No (I chose No) Then it shows "Candidate Rhythms" with Atrial Flutter at the top (with links to learn more or see samples of A Flutter) and also shows a differential diagnosis with links for other rhythms to consider. Once I was looking at an ecg with the iTouch turned sideways and I could not exit this ecg without quitting the app. I have not been able to replicate this issue again but it was just a minor annoyance in an otherwise stellar app..Version: 0

Would definitely recommendNot sure what Arsenal is talking about. This is a great app. It has as much, if not more, information than a textbook, and it functions so much better. I can access the various ECG topics in an instant and they are well organized: everything is exactly where you'd expect it to be. The sample ECG rhythms can be manipulated and zoomed in on to see all the details. It's extremely easy to use. The huge database of sample ECGs will definitely help me in identifying ECGs. This is so much more than a textbook, and at only 5 dollars it's an amazing deal! It is easily worth more than double that amount. I would very highly recommend this..Version: 0

Good for referenceApp hits quick and easy to read reference material. Covers basics, but is not designed for first-time EKG learners. Have found highly useful for reminders when reading real ekgs..Version: 4.4

Great applicationThis is a must have application for doctors, rsidents and medical students. I can now get rid of all the EKG cards I carry in my coat pocket. It is like having an entire EKG book with me at all times. It covers all the aspects of normal and abnormal EKG's in an organized and simple interface. Whoever designed this application put a lot of thought and time into it. Well worth the price. One thing I would like to see in an update would be a corrected QT calculator like the one included with the MedCalc application. But even without this minor add on, this is a five star application..Version: 0

Great App - nicely done - full of informationThis is my number 1 app for cardiology. There is a lot of information, it is well organized, and easily accessible. The ECG samples are great quality pictures, allowing you to zoom in and carefully view the smaller details in portrait or landscape mode. The main tabs (ECG Book, Samples, Quiz, Interpret) add a nice variety of ways to learn about ECG, quickly flip through real samples, and even quiz yourself both in a multiple choice style as well as using the ECG photos to test your interpretation of each. This new version (released June 3, 2010) added two new things: 1. A "Normal ECG" section: It is basically one page with a picture of a normal ECG and a basic description below. It is nothing huge, but of course an ECG app needs to have a page on what a normal ECG looks like. 2. The biggest new feature is the ECG interpreter, and it costs $0.99 to activate. The screenshots show you a quick example of it. It basically asks you "yes and no" type questions and in the end it gives you possible rhythms that could fit your criteria. That is basically it. However, in the results page, it gives you several links to the regular ECG app containing information on the suggested rhythms. Although this is information already contained in the main app, and you could therefore access it without paying the $0.99 Interpreter fee, it is nice to have it easily available in one page as all-in-one content-related to the possible rhythms. At first I felt that the $0.99 to activate the Interpreter was too expensive for what you were getting, considering that the general app also costs $0.99 and has a ton more information. But, I do have to say that it does give you suggestions to possible rhythms that you wouldn't really think of on your own, and therefore it helps you become well-rounded in your interpretation. And.... I mean, come on - it's only $0.99!!! You can't even buy a Starbuck's coffee for that price. So, in the end, you will have paid $1.98 for the app + Interpreter, and that is worth every penny. I give it 5 stars, and I highly recommend it to those with beginning and intermediate knowledge of ECG..Version: 0

Outstanding ECG ReferenceThis is an outstanding ECG Reference. I learned ECGs as a 4th year med student and 1st year resident, but find that I need constant re-inforcement to solidify my knowledge. This is a great tool when I need to review diagnostic criteria or sample ECGs. I also like the quiz feature - really forces me to test my knowledge and seek detailed explanations when I make an error. I've been showing this to the med students and they've found it to be a useful way to start learning ECG interpretation..Version: 0

Love it so far!!!I'm an internal medicine PA...i like to think im good at reading EKG's but always love having references....i started reading this program from the beginning in that past nights and find it very good....kinda reminds me of my EKG books...i cant wait to continue finishing it on my upcoming flight and then trying the quizes...i'll update my review later....all i can say is go apple for allowing this and other great products available for iPhone!.Version: 0

Beautiful appDownloaded this app a couple days ago. It's great. It's very thorough, and the sample ECGs are very clear (maybe the previous reviewer didn't realize you can pinch to zoom!). They are easily the highest quality strips of any of the ecg applications. I also like the Interpreter. It's great for anyone from beginner to intermediate! I would definitely recommend this app! Easily the best ECG app available..Version: 0

Great and I love it!!!!!!!!I work on a cardiac telemetry floor where I am a tele tech. I seen this app before I even purchased my iPod. it has givenme more of an insight to more of the rythems that has come across my monitors. I have even had to show this to a Dr. to compair to a strip I got on one of his patients. updates are great. but the only thing I would like to see are more of the heart blocks. Great Job People !!!!.Version: 0

Great AppIts true what they say that you can't judge a book by its cover. I bought "instant ECG" first because frankly it looked better. Looks however as we all know can be deceiving. Its a good application but in my opinion is too basic for interns, residents or practicing physicians. The ECG Guide is much more complete. With that said, If it was only prettier you could take it home to mama..Version: 0

Must have appThis is a great app! It has the most samples out of all the ECG apps available, and the reference text is very thorough. I like how the sample ecgs fill the full screen so it's really easy to see all the details. These guys have been doing a great job at constantly releasing new updates with additional content. Excellent work..Version: 0

Helpful appExcellent resource for medical students, residents, RNs, ECG techs and physicians. Includes a lot of real 12-lead ECGs for reference. Easy to use as a self-quiz for boards. I like that I can show my residents and medical students examples of common and uncommon disorders quickly on rounds. Good concise explanations and a ton of content packed into a reasonable file size and at a fair price..Version: 0

Best ECG AppI've tried this and the other ECG apps for the iPhone. This is by far the best. The organization makes everything easy to find. It's fast and stable. It has a huge database of samples. The quiz feature is great for review! And the quick reference material is very helpful. Great job!! Highly Recommended!.Version: 0

Love the EKG reviewWell worth the price. I used this program to both learn and teach others the basics of EKG's. While going through PA school I needed an quick guide, so I downloaded this app. Then I kept after finishing to teach students how to learn the basics in this program... It's worth the money!!!.Version: 0

Top appThis has the most reference material of all the ECG apps, and the most samples. Easy choice. Great content and organization. I just wish it looked prettier, but even without that it's easy to use and the most useful app i've downloaded. Thanks for the hard work..Version: 0

Happy for 0.99 cent sale!Downloading now. Sure I'll love it based on ALL GOOD reviews, except for the one complainer who was mad he paid full price. Anyways, happy it's on sale now! **Update** Love the layout! Flows smoothly! Has way more strips than I could have imagined. Stuff way out of my knowledge base as a new RN grad. Yikes!.Version: 0

Update now works on iOS4!I updated to iOS4 earlier today, and then downloaded the just released update to this app (v4.2) and everything now works great. I think the people who are having problems just need to download the latest update. Great app. Love it so far..Version: 0

Excellent appVery concise & informative. Easy to find information quickly. A must have for medical professionals, especially those who want to learn about 12 lead EKGs. The update shows dedication to making a great app even better!.Version: 0

GREAT for nurses!I think that this is a great app for nurses! It has a very thorough explanation of typical and atypical rhythms. It is MUCH MORE THOROUGH than any other ecg app available. And the set of sample ecgs is much more vast than any other ecg apps. Overall, this is easily, hands-down, the best ecg app available! Highly recommended..Version: 0

Amazing medical app! This app is an indispensable tool! The layout is well thought out. Finding what I'm looking for is a breeze. And the sample ECGs!! I think i'm in heaven. They are great! There are plenty of them, well organized, all high quality. This is a must have app!!.Version: 0

Most useful appGreat app. The useability is perfect. There's lots of information, all where you would expect to find it. Great update with the new samples too. This app has a huge library of sample ECGs which is very useful as a reference. Buy it!! :).Version: 0

NiceThis app is gold! It's extremely helpful. All my fellow nurses have downloaded it and we all find that it works great!! And great update too!! You guys seem to keep adding new ECG samples every couple weeks. Awesome service for only 5 bucks..Version: 0

OutstandingI'm taking my cardiology course currently and have found this app to be invaluable. The depth and breadth of explainations are unmatched. It was great before the update, but now it's an even better teaching tool. Thanks..Version: 0

Nice and concise! For those that rated it poor- if u were expecting it to be a text book- u should buy one. This app is excellent in review for both for the seasoned and new nurses. It has an interactive view and quizzes. Good job! I have been a nurse for 18 yrs. now specializing in pediatric CVICU..Version: 4.4

Amazing appDownloaded this app a couple weeks ago. I have used it extensively and I have to say it is an amazing app. The design is great. The useability is perfect. It looks beautiful. One of the best apps i've ever downloaded. Nice work..Version: 0

ResidentOf course a 5 star application, and I would pay 25$ for it, But one comment, Please think about ARROWS on the EKGs to explain what u r describing, I think this is the best modification u can do to your one of a kind I phone ECG application. Thanks a million for ur efforts :) One last thing which is as important as ARROWs also is to >>>>>add explanations in Quiz mode because some people will be interested in only the quiz mode, as it sticks to memory better than systematic review.Version: 0

Great for the price...The app was well crafted, but the icon seems to get lost in the original black iphone background, sound will make it perfect, other than that......Version: 0

Thank youKeep up the good work and I'll continue to pass on the word about this app... Thank you once again.Version: 0

Best ECG appNot as pretty nor as user-friendly as instant ECG, but much more comprehensive. I'd recommend the former for paramedics, nurses and med students. I'd recommend this one for residents (or med students doing a cards rotation)..Version: 0

RecommendedThis is a great app! I love the huge library of sample ECGs. Great for studying and review. I have told all my coworkers about this app and they are all downloading and loving it. Thanks..Version: 0

ExcelletThis is a great app!! I'm so happy I just found it! It has everything I need. And the samples are great! Each one has multiple diagnosis'. Good job..Version: 0

AnywayI am a little upset because it's so cheap now. anyway, this is my first medical app, and it deserves 5 stars. Thanks a lot!.Version: 0

ExcellentUsed this to help study for my exam on ECGs. Excellent app. Also the new update is awesome and it blew me away how much effort went into updating the app..Version: 0

Its ok, don't use it that muchNot a bad app, complements some of the other ECG apps well. better for the more obscure rhythms that I don't see every day. I just don't find myself using it that much..Version: 0

Loving itI have tried several apps by this company and they are great! Absolutely amazing content..Version: 0
