Denied me careI picked a provider based on the conditions I may be struggling with. Took a week it feels like to even get someone to communicate with me on why it kept asking for my insurance and ID after uploading it several times. I even uploaded my history with medications from my previous doctor I had before moving out of state last summer. In which I’m only taking on for migraines. I finally got through to someone by email. Then was quickly denied care because they don’t treat basic mental health conditions and that they don’t take my insurance. I literally selected a provider based on both that they suggested to me based on my insurance and conditions. My insurance is listed right at the top. This just adds another layer to my trauma caused my medical care. I’ve been trying to get through the past year with no care and I’m struggling. It’s hard going from thinking you will have someone to talk too soon to nothing. I would avoid this app and their providers as a result. I’ve been crying all morning. It was a huge step for me to even reach out to this new form of care..Jlf1213Version: 7.3.4
Needs a different layout approachThe app used to be a bit easier to navigate. However, over time and updates it has become cluttered and less navigable. It took myself and my doctor’s assistant to figure out how to add their practice to my account. I thought I was going crazy until she had the same experience. There were so many loops to go through that didn’t flow well. After jumping around and running in circles, the practice finally showed up in strange areas. When I tried to access the practice, it would default to an old provider I haven’t been to or used for over 5 years. Every function defaults to that provider’s practice, and since it’s reading it as a default, it’s very difficult to find a way to delete this old one. I can delete others like my PCP, but not the one I want to delete. Also, my specialist physician I worked on with this app sent me a test message and it took over 15 minutes to receive and it doesn’t give you a notification. I had to go into the messages to see if it showed. If I hadn’t been checking, I would’ve missed it. It’s aggravation no one has time for especially when dealing with sensitive health issues. I’m a previous computer programmer and I know from professional experience that this is all a programming issue that could easily be resolved with more attention, care, intellect, and testing. Start programming from a patient’s perspective who may be using multiple providers. Imagine your users not being tech savvy—design from that perspective. For your sake, I sure hope something is done before providers drop their accounts with Healow due to negative feedback from their patients..InsightIncVersion: 7.4.1
Super Helpful Health Tracking App :)I’ve used ‘healow’ for several years now. In that time I’ve had a couple of surgeries, mental health appointments, ER visits, 2 hospital stays, medical appointments, drug & alcohol abuse rehab, prescriptions, annual physicals, etc, etc & being a person with ADHD it helps me tremendously with keeping all my important heath info together, organized, situated, handy, easy to understand & access…ANYWHERE at that! It’s fantastic & has been super helpful in tracking my heath informations making my appointments efficient - I leave feeling heard, confident, knowledgeable - like I got my $ worth. My Dr’s are able to treat me comprehensively because they’re fully informed, & are happy to respectfully hear me out as a patient because they can see I care about my health. It’s a win-win all around. I highly recommend this app.
Thank you developers, from the bottom of my heart. I truly love your app. ❤️.FL_QuaintrelleVersion: 6.9.1
Would LOVE to give more stars!!I have a “new” issue. I need to delete a message that my Doctor has answered (it’s 6 months old and I understand the response). When I try to delete it, I get a message from the app saying that “multiple messages cannot be deleted”. It is a question from me, and an answer from the Doctor to that question. I don’t NEED to keep the message, so HOW can I get rid of it?? There is no option to delete each message separately from that thread! HELPP!!!!! OH! Apparently, the developers only respond to “positive feedback” and ignore the requests for help . The app itself is a great way to keep track of medical information and appointments! It does exactly what they say it does. HOWEVER!!! Do NOT trust the location map that comes up when you open up a message about a prescription. I live in “Deep East Texas”, my pharmacy is LESS than a mile away, but the MAP does the pin drop out in the South Atlantic Ocean over by Africa: that’s a LOOONNGG way from Texas!🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 Nope! Sorry! NO prescription is worth traveling THAT far!!!.Rebelsrose6165Version: 7.3.1
Setting up credentials is a nightmareIt is basically impossible to set up credentials with a password manager that work with both the app and the website.
I had forgotten my PIN since it had been months since I logged in. So I reset my creds using the Patient Portal and put my password in LastPass.
So I go to my phone and try to log in. I say “forgot pin”. Brings up a user name and password screen. Unlike other apps, however, it does not allow either iCloud logins or LastPass to enter for me. The “passwords” panel does not come up.
I switch to LastPass, copy my password, go back to Healow, and it starts over, asking for my PIN.
So I go through it again, get to the password screen, paste it in, and it won’t let me proceed.
I try again, this time using something called “Easy login”. But, of course, when you copy something out of LastPass, you can only paste once, so I switch out, copy it, switch back, and it starts over with “Enter PIN”. I eventually get to a screen that says “Enter new password”. I paste in the password from LastPass, and it won’t let me proceed again. Next button does nothing.
I finally looked at my password. It started with a semicolon. So I copied the password out of LastPass and pasted into Notes. Edited the password so it starts with a letter. Copied it out of Notes. And went back to Healow and had to start over AGAIN.
It finally worked. I pasted the new password back into LastPass. Deleted the Notes doc.

Only used to my advantage a few timesI thought I’d get a review to this app because I’m finally learning how to use it and so far so good. I sent one message to my doctor. I got a phone call the next morning first thing. I sent my second message today and it is 5:24 PM. Hoping to hear back from my doctor tomorrow to be able to see the Doctor Who is on call, instead of my primary doctor for concerning issue. But I think I like this, I really do. I’m able to add things to my calendar from my messages and I’m able to send messages and use my voice and text precise and clear.! I haven’t had the erase and redo anything. I also like the fact that I can check in earlier on the app and even make the copayment. I haven’t tried that yet, but I will try to remember that next time I go and I’m a few minutes early or before I get there. How about that?!.Off the chain.Version: 7.2.2
My Experience Since August 2006I’m totally blown away with the resources available here. From Referrals, Test and Results, Diagnosis, Health Problems, Medications, and overall easiness to use the program. OMG, LCHC, CCMH, whomever created this application deserves a pay increase.
Only thing I’d like to see, records back to 2006. I understand they started when it all changed to LCHC, CCMH, and digitizing records. Those early years would be from a PCM.
-2nd thing to possibly add or provide, have granted access to Health Insurance Providers, Social Security Disabled (SSDI) and Veterans Affairs (VA), for 100% totally disabled patients. We, the doctor and patient sometimes get told to conduct test for e.g. TRICARE purposes? This application is so powerful, so only the precise requested test or results is provided. Not an open invitation. Just access to requested data thru CCMH/LCHC approved PHI/PII data security and management..RealernestswindleVersion: 7.4.0
Convenient & EasyI had no idea about this app until I began seeing a psychiatrist through Talkiatry. For the most part the app is great but occasionally I have experienced glitches though none very recently. The main issue I saw was sometimes when using AirPods while on a virtual visit with my doctor, she couldn’t hear me. Also, during one of my visits I received a call and rejected it and after that, my doctor couldn’t hear me anymore and we had to exit the chat and use FaceTime. After this I started using Do Not Disturb during my appointments and haven’t seen the issue since so it may have nothing to do with the app at all. Lastly, the only other issue I’ve had was mainly when I first started using Healow and that was occasional grainy/choppy video even with high speed internet. Overall a great app though. Messaging my doctor and requesting refills is a breeze as well..JedibatmomVersion: 7.3.0
Don’t understand what most of you have Against security measuresI for one like the added measures. If you’ve ever had your identity stolen and your medical information and insurance used and then have to fight for years to clean it up you should be happy that they’re taking these extra subs to protect you so one extra strap may be frustrating but in the long run it could be saving you 1 million other stops. Love the doctors love the app and the security. With having stage four bone cancer that is now going to the brain barrier my left orbital socket and plate the extra measures are good for me and I take them every time because I am not having my identity insurance and all of that stolen again so I praise the app, five stars I’d give it 10 if I could.SurvivorKymVersion: 6.9.0
Nice features but the interface could use some workBeing able to communicate directly with my doctor through the app has been a game changer. Being able to see my medical records on the app is amazing!
Here are a couple of suggestions though. The messaging feature is a little clunky. Unless I access it from the records section of the app, it won’t let me reply to messages. Even worse, you have to start over each time on selecting your provider/facility, then your doctor. Can we please get the ability to just have that information saved and pre-populated when writing messages until we change it? Additionally, it would be really great to be able to share file attachments like images or PDFs.
Lastly, I love the feature where you can share Fitbit data with your doctor. Will we one day be able to also share Apple Health data? It would be great to able to give my doctor access to data from my Apple Watch..DonhessmanVersion: 5.5.1
Unable to simply log inUpdate, August 2024- we are able to log in now but the app only populates with appt dates and old medication. We are unable to see visit summaries or lab results- the very purpose of us having the app. One of the dr office staff said her app has the same issue.
Original review: I was excited to have an EMR app for my elderly mother, both for her to communicate with her medical provider but also as a long distance caretaker myself to monitor her lab results etc. This app has been incredibly frustrating- especially compared to others I’ve used. We set the app up for my mother so she could use it on her own HOWEVER each time we return to this app it’s as if we have to give info as a new user each time- it doesn’t retain her user info apparently. This is completely unacceptable and makes the app way too complicated for people such as the elderly with little experience using electronic apps..SF LupaVersion: 7.2.3
Not at all accessible. My general practitioner as well as my allergist both use this app. It is not at all accessible. It was somewhat accessible in earlier versions, but now that it has changed, the accessibility is completely out the window. most frustrating? The buttons are not labeled to start with, which would be incredibly helpful if they were. you have to tell your App designers that you can’t just label a button, “button,” and have that be that. You have to tell me what it means. Messages, appointments, etc. because of this, there is no way for me to find the messages portal, so I can’t leave a message with my doctor at all. Also cannot make an appointment. I am blind, the only way now that I can even reach my doctors is to call them, because this app is absolutely useless. Please fix it. We need some help here..Lmagnuson39Version: 7.0.3
FrustratedOne of my providers uses healow and it works fine. But now another of my providers also uses it as their patient portal. I am unable to add them to healow. I’ve tried to follow instructions I’ve found on line but my screen doesn’t even look like it perhaps should. My provider has thrown up their hands because other patients have the same problem. Do you have a solution?

Developer sent instructions to add an additional provider. Following them (although in the beginning seemed counterintuitive) worked. Thank you. I was offered a link to update my review. Collaborative Team EffortAdvanced Healthcare has always been a Team Effort. Healow gives me, a typical, maybe even a more atypical mature patient a seat at one end of the table, my PCP at the other as we collaborate in the Holistic approach to keeping my entire System running smoothly, with complete transparency. I would really love for Healow to share my data with Epic to bridge the Overlapping, “Gap” between the two platforms. Same Data, different Applications that could have legally separate databases, which synchronize some key data. Like International Banking. Each country has their own database with host country being primary ownership of the country’s data, synchronizing with each other to keep shared data as a mirror..Jfgarner59Version: 7.6.2
The best app, for the very best Doctor.I’ve seen my doctor going on over 10 year. The problems I have were so huge that it would overwhelm most doctors, not this doctor. He saved my life and I’ll always be happy and respect him, not only him as as a person, but I’ll always trust and respect his treatment and medication plans. Not only has the treatment he has given me works l, but I’m no longer the sick and dying person that I was going to be. This app shows all the meds I’m on, it shows so many things that makes me feel like my doctor is always an app away. So thank you, Healow, for letting me write this to show just a little of how I feel about my doctor and this app. Thanks Again, Steven S..LoganRexLovelessVersion: 5.4.0
Good but messaging needs improvementThis App is a well done application that provides good medical record keeping and communication between patient and doctors.
The one issue that is a problem for this application is the messaging. When constructing a message addressed to a doctor, many times an error appears when attempting to send a message, “only valid characters are allowed (A-Z, a-z, 0-9), including all special characters“. Yet the message does not include any invalid characters or even special characters beyond “)” and “(“ according to the error message.
To work around this error, I have to construct my message in the IOS “note” app and then copy/paste the message to the Healow app. This is very inconvenient. But I still use this application to communicate with my doctors..GP-1970Version: 6.9.1
Works but needs workThough I installed this app a couple years ago, I haven’t needed to really use it until recently. How do I delete or even archive “we miss you” or “happy holidays” messages? Messages need the option to maintain their thread like in every other messaging app.
I like having a history of my lab and test results and have been able to rely on this feature and is what has kept me using it.
One of my main concerns is readability. The fonts are small, thin and lightweight which makes them difficult to read. I could rely more on the icons (appointments, records, etc) on the main screen if they’re easier to see (small, faint, and detailed). Ironically they are easier to see on the Help screen! The readability issue applies to every screen.
Sadly, I think this app must be one of the lower priced among the options for medical professionals. The version history reflects a lot of bug response, but the last enhancement was 8 months ago and the last update 2 years ago.
The in-app “report a problem” is non-functioning. I question whether the development team even follows reviews/suggestions for improvement or actively works to improve this app. It works, but comes in juuuust under the wire..TeeblackleyVersion: 6.6.0
Zoom meeting with my doctor RaminfarI really enjoy having Zoom meetings with my doctor. He is the best doctor I have had in years. I’m 58 years old and I must say he is the best of the best. He totally understands. He’s extremely patient. And most importantly, and the best of all is that he listens. If I ask for an explanation regarding the medicine that has been prescribed, he gives me full explanation. He gives me full explanation in regards to any questions that I have and he does not rush me. I have had five surgeries since an accident on my job and even though he’s coming in at the tail end, you would never think. That he’s coming in at the tail end. Updated : No Longer a Trash AppUpdate: the below experience has been resolved with recent iOS updates. The app now works as expected. It’s got a nice interface and the scheduling system seems to work well. That’s all I’ve used so far, and I like what I’ve used. I’ll update and add that last star later once I’m fully accustomed to the app. So far, so good.
“During the setup process this app won’t allow me to save a new password, you push the done button and it just sits there and never moves forward. Heading in right directionThis app has a lot of excellent features, and I especially appreciate the efficiency of communication it allows between me and my children’s pediatrician. I have been using this app for several years now, and the main thing I‘d ask you to improve is the messaging. Parents/patients need the ability to reply, and to also see the original sent message. It’s really frustrating to have to completely start over a message each time a response is needed, and to not even be able to refer back to the original/other follow-up messages. ... Other than that, the app’s features are really great. Love the access to all records, lab reports, health logs, visit summaries, etc. UX is intuitive and simple..AprilpattVersion: 6.6.0

Healow Negative Reviews
There is a lot of room for improvementThere has to be a way for you guys to clean up your emails. The emails are packed with tiny text, multiple links, images, so much stuff, when all it needs is a giant “confirm appointment” or “cancel appointment” button. Every time I get a Healow email, I cringe because I’m already irritated that I have to log into an app to complete the process and aside from being a simple appointment reminder, WHY does there have to be a full instruction manual junking up the main message? Keep. It. Simple. Please, I’m begging you. From a tired, overstimulated mom, less is more and your cleaned up, trimmed down, ridiculously simplified version would be SO appreciated by the end-user.
Additionally, all I needed to do was check in my son for a well visit and, while filling out a bunch of online forms, the app prompted me for a Face ID twice, even though I was logged in already. Like, I’m in the middle of pages of check in, and the Face ID thing randomly popped up. Also, my other son is showing links to “pay” for prior visits from 2024, which I’m sure I’ve already paid, and then when I click on the link it says that statement isn’t available anymore. Do I owe something?? Am I past due on something?? I haven’t received anything in the mail about it. Please have someone address these issues with Healow for a better, smoother experience. Thanks..WordMuncherVersion: 7.4.1
Scheduling isn’t greatThere is a new setting where the app does not allow appointments less than one year into the future. My son is 8 months old and needs multiple wellness exams within a year, but I get an error message after entering in all my information and it doesn’t allow me to book, requiring me to call my provider. This app also doesn’t handle rescheduling. To change an appointment I need to call my provider. And even then, I still get app and email reminders of an appointment that has been canceled. It makes me have to double check calendars and send messages to my provider to confirm the correct appointment or ensure one has been canceled. These issues have happened multiple times. I wish the app would remove the canceled appointment and not send reminders. I also would like to book my regular wellness exams through the app without getting errors. The UI for visit summary and the log for immunizations could also use improvement. I’d also appreciate the option to add an attachment to a message. For example, I wasn’t able to share a screenshot of my scheduling error.
It would also be nice to select any provider (no preference) and schedule based on date/time available. Currently you have to click through each provider and their availability and cannot browse all doctors based on a date/time..ICarly2Version: 7.2.2
Constant Problems & Awful SupportIf you happen to have one or more healthcare providers who are forcing you to use the Healow app and/or portal for communication with your doctor, lab results, prescription, refills, etc. — good luck! After you synch a more than a couple healthcare practices and patients (your children for example) and user names and passwords, the app can no longer access all of them without glitching or giving you a constant error. You cannot call and speak to a human at customer support. I tried, and they told me they could not help me — that I had to go through the website. So, I spent hours online and emailing with tech support only to not resolve anything and have them make suggestions that were not helpful — something that would’ve been much easier to navigate with an actual conversation. Healow, then closed my case, emailing me telling me they’d resolved my issue (nothing was resolved). My doctor’s office has also tried to troubleshoot unsuccessfully and can’t figure it out. So, communication with this particular practice is a constant problem and source of frustration. This is supposed to make my healthcare more accessible and easier to navigate. If anything, it is the exact opposite. The app works for the first two practices I used Healow for, but every healthcare practice added after that has not worked properly — if at all..#afriendlybookwormVersion: 7.1.0
Think app needs an update bc of iOS 15Can login but initially it was not being able to make an appointment and view records. Didn’t try sending message via the app as I had no reason to do so. Eventually was able to make an appointment. But still trouble login to view records pops up. Deleting app and all you should do with an app not responding as it should has not helped. Update: been reading other reviews. I had a drive through Covid test and because of that, I was in the medical clinics system with Healow being available that I didn’t know at the time. Later after seeing that place used Healow, I was able to use my phone number with some information to get in via a web browser on my computer. Can’t recall if I input a password in account there, suspect I did. But do know I did not know my user name from the browser computer version. So the app. Frustrating to get in. Think I clicked forgot password but do know that I was allowed to use my phone to login and from there saw my user name. No idea if others use FirstnameLastnameBirthyear for user name. I wish I could recall when the password was made, likely it was browser version. Capital first letter of first name and Capital first letter of last name then 19- - birth year and no spaces. Zero Confidence in HealowMy health care provider swapped from Follow My Health to Healow. Prior to the change I was not too fond of Follow My Health. Since the transition I can honestly say that in my personal experience Follow My Health is a Rock Star when compared to Healow. I can only assume the “low” in Healow stands for low bidder. I initially gave up after multiple attempts to set up a Healo account to access my personal medical records. Recently (many months later) I made another attempt which proved just as frustrating and unsuccessful. Eventually support was received from my Medical Providers staff. Healow support is in my experience non-existent. As to the Healow app’s content and ease of use. My experience thus far warrants Zero Stars ! I suspect Healow is in the profit business and not the medical records business. This patient’s experience allows Healow’s site was definitely not created from a patient’s perspective or needs. Their site does not even recognize my Primary Care Provider or The Medical Practice they service after requesting just that info ! With no intention to create a negative this has thus far been my personal experience. Hopefully one that Healow will consider to improve their service. If and when they were to make improvements I will post a retraction with a better score. Till then
I hope your experience is better than mine..PJJJK in MAVersion: 6.9.0
Nonfunctional appWasted 2 hours trying to set up this app the night before an appointment. Issue is I already had Healow installed in prep for a different appointment. Process went fairly smoothly to log into the portal the first time but that appointment is days away. I have an appointment tomorrow with another provider who unfortunately also requires Healow. App is already installed and NOTHING works to add a new account from the app (using iPhone 11)...finds provider but subsequent prompts just will not accept input. Bailed out and logged in from my newer laptop only to watch it reject every browser I tried (Chrome, IE, Edge) as “unsupported.” Ended up giving up and logging on using the browser app from my iPhone, bypasses the app entirely. At least the test didn’t reject the browser, but it’s really not optimized for the main bike screen. Due to COVID risk,I need these virtual visits. Guess if it doesn’t work tomorrow with my crazy workaround I’ll cancel my appointment and blame it on eClinicalWorks. I know I won’t be the first to do so. As an IT professional in healthcare, I hate seeing buggy apps like these because I know it will be a barrier to healthcare for some non technical or older people. Sad.

Worst doctor & app everThis app doesn’t do me any justice, I tried to make an appointment and it wouldn’t let me also I try to cancel an appointment cause the doctors office has receptionists and they all are either on there personal cell phones or they would be talking in Aribic to each other and make me stand there for 15mins before I can sign in just for an appointment also the doctor there Dr. Abdulmassih is my actual doctor and he gave me a nurse practitioner to see me for the last year in a half and not him, he is my primary physician and he don’t even see me and his DEA is no longer active because the pharmacy told me and the nurse practitioner can’t prescribe me medication and I refuse to see her and when I go to my appointment he don’t even come to see me just the nurse & she also recommended me to take a diabetic medication when I am not a diabetic it was for me to lose weight! That was her reason for that but I was told by another doctor not to take it if I’m not even a diabetic! That’s called over prescribed medication and they have me hooked on anxiety medication & they were prescribed me this medication for 8 years & now they completely stop me from getting them & I was in the hospital for a seizure out state on my vacation because of it so I think this app is crap and this doctor is a fraud and a scammer!.Queenboss ladyVersion: 7.2.2
Doesn’t write to Apple HealthHealow only has three jobs: 1) Tell me when my next appointment is. 2) Show me my lab results. 3) Sync those lab results to Apple Health.
It does fine at #1. The interface is clunky, non-intuitive, and for some reason visually retro—all low contrast, and low resolution(?) #2 is a victim of #1. I’ve worked in tech for 20 years and I had to ask the nurse how to find lab results. This whole thing just screams that it was designed in Germany but I believe ecw is in Boston…. There are two completely redundant home screens, then lab results is under Records(?!) Then a few upsells for h2h and similar. Then #3 is not a supported functionality! If I were a doctor or hospital administrator that would be an automatic dealkiller. So unlike MyChart and other competitors, with Healow you can’t export your lab results to any health hub. Which means you have a separate app for this one doctor, all your lab work is redundant because your other doctors use other labs, and you have therefore no overview of your health—or, you have one, but your Healow results ain’t in there!

Frustratingly bad designLike so many things in the American health care system, this app is a sprawling poorly organized mess, needlessly difficult to navigate and ultimately-give-up frustrating. Your incoming messages are on the landing page but how do you get to the thread of received AND sent? Not from there! And not by clicking on Messages either. No, you have to stumble on My Records and discover them buried there for some reason. Want to renew a prescription? You can do it if you know the secret (as in completely unlabeled) button 5 clicks deep from the main menu. Need to tell the app which pharmacy to use? Hope it’s not CVS because you will have to manually search through the list of EVERY CVS in the US, randomly listed, screen by screen, until you find your needle in the haystack. And don’t bother seeking advice on how to do this more efficiently: searching Help for the word “pharmacy” yields exactly zero results. Why would anyone make these boneheaded basic usability decisions? This app is like punishment for actually trying to perform basic healthcare functions online, as if your provider were yelling at you, “just pick up the phone, for God’s sake!”.Real-ProVersion: 6.8.1
Terrible, doesn’t workThere is no actual website that you can use and there is no one to contact for help. It won’t allow me AT ALL to input any other practices than the first one. As part of the process to add it I get to a password reset screen (never requested one) and it will not allow the confirm button to work. Then in the practice it does allow, when I want to pay the balance, the “pay” button goes to a blank screen. People, if your app is glitchy, you need to allow people to get in with their PC on a website. Doctors pay to use your service… Fix it!
Yet a 3rd doctor using this piece of poo of an app. This time I got all
The way to a screen requiring me to change my password and guess what? Would not advance to next screen and the overwrote my existing password so I couldn’t get into the only doctor office it allowed. The only way to use this app is to get a different email for each doctor and install it on a different device for each one. I can’t rate it any betterThis app is extremely frustrating. I have not been able to log in since December. My Doctor’s office has reset it several times to no avail. I keep trying to retrieve/ reset my user name/password only to be told I am not registered. I have received ONE email from support and even though I explained the above and requested a phone call more than a week ago, nobody has replied. Right now my opinion of this app is that plus garbage and customer service none existent.
Follow up: today I received an email notifying me that they are considering my case closed. Has anyone bothered to contact
Me by phone (as I requested) or even by email? NO! and they are closing my case??? Unfortunately I can’t give them any lower than a one star. This rating does not necessarily speak for the app. For all I know it’s a great app BUT I have not been able to use it so I can’t say. My issue is mainly with customer service.
I wonder, do they just have bad service? Incompetent reps? Or are they just so inundated with complaints that they have missed my request? In any case, this app is useless to me as it stands..Flowerlily1Version: 6.9.1
No Push NotificationsThere are no push notifications for the Healow app. Because there are no banner notifications from the Healow app, this makes it difficult to keep track of appointments and other important reminders. On my phone, I have banner notifications turned off for most apps. Still, my phone is oversaturated with text and emails from various people, businesses and scams. Any text or emails sent from Healow or my practice often get lost/missed in all the noise. Even worse, if I am late for a telehealth appointment, I do not get any notifications or calls from Healow or my practice. I turned on Healow notifications in my settings, but when I went into the Healow app there are no options for enabling nor controlling notifications. Ideally, the Healow app would give me a notification banner reminding me 1 day before, 1 hour before, at the time of and 5/10 minutes into the appointment. Fixing this simple issue would help Healow’s business clients manage their appointment flow and overall quality of business..Jojofartz2muchVersion: 7.2.3
Hellno appThis app is probably one of the worst apps I have ever witnessed......EVER! If you are the type of person who truly enjoys deep-seated extreme frustration (such as one example: having an impossible time in even just the simplest act of trying to log out and finding it close to impossible to do so to escape this horrid app), or the impossibly tiring experience of being taken nowhere in the app other than to a looping non-productive effort, and of course, shot off to the to the famous “404 can’t find that page” complex and then no way to get back into your alleged portal without extreme pain, then by all means, you masochists out there will just LOVE this app. Otherwise, if you are NOT the above type, do NOT WASTE EVEN A SINGLE SECOND OF YOUR TIME NOR EFFORT on this “Healow app” that should also be re-named the “Hellno app” which, again to be highly redundant, stinx to high heaven, to say it mildly. A note to the programmers on this app: you need to either go back to school to learn functionality or you might try to go find a job flipping burgers at a hamburger joint..J B 2023Version: 7.1.0
No place in medicineIt’s very simple really. Apps have no place in medicine. This is our health we are talking about for which we must rely on yet another device. If something is done such as bloodwork or other tests we should receive a call. My glucose was out of range and rather than call me I had to download this silly app and Google what this might mean. I was told it wasn’t alarming because I had not fasted. I wanted to say I have not once in my life been out of range and had only ever once had a fasting glucose test. This is a huge fail on the part of healthcare. Impersonal and difficult for older generations. They will miss things. They will confuse people. Dr.’s hate it when the general public googles diagnosis and possible health concern scenarios yet they continue to alienate patients. This is just a new way to hold us at arms length. Few people know how to read cbc/chem analysis values and an entire generation struggles with the tech. We don’t need this. We need healthcare workers to do what they do best and communicate with us. Big thumbs down.Zumba*chicVersion: 6.9.1
Technical glitch experiencedWhen I was typing in my long list of medications on your form, every time I tried typing, at the end, it wiped out the entire typed info., and said “you used too many emoji or unrecognizable characters.”
But, all I used were numbers, commas, /, period, and alphabet. I took out all commas, numbers,/, and only showed beginning medication name by typing capital letters, but, even then, your software wiped out all of information I typed, and said I used too many emojis and unrecognizable characters. So, I had to type same medication information over, over, over again, at least 6-7 times. And I gave up.
Few hours later, I tried two more times to type in same information and only that last try, it accepted my information. It was a most irritating, frustrating experience trying to check in before my appointment by using Healow app. I will not use this app, or use the app as little as possible from now, after wasting so much time today..Matcha lover 1Version: 7.1.0
Why bother?!What the heck is going on with any Hospital or Medical group that would try to get patients to use this app? And the app wants users to give it access to camera and microphone to do voice/video conferencing? Why? I just spent hours trying to submit a help request to figure out how to change my email address, because the one that’s being used is no longer viable. This thing led me in circles and when I couldn’t get a help request to come up, I filled out a lengthy review. After which, it disappeared when the cache didn’t go through. Arghhh!!! And, another thing. What web/app design team decided on a tiny, dainty italic typeface, with no serifs and no contrast!? Clearly, they are all under 30, with perfect reading vision; unlike most medical patients, who are older and trying to read this on their phones. For some, this typeface would practically be invisible. It certainly wouldn’t pass approval by any eye physician. I won’t be using this app until these issues are addressed and fixed..LindaFBVersion: 7.2.2
This app needs fixingI an a type 1 Diabetic and have been using Healow for about 9-10 months now and it was so good and easy to use until one day my refill requests stopped going through. I got the app so i can easily see my health records and refill prescriptions i need in order to live, but the app makes that impossible when it is literally the apps job to let you send refill requests. I would love if i could request refills again and not have to leave rhe app to text 5-6 different doctors in hopes that one of them see my texts or calls before im fully out of insulin. I also see the developers of the app replying and stating they will fix these problems but they havent done a single thing but make the other problems worse. I am still using the app because again i need it to make my life a little easier, so please fix the issues that we are literally sitting here and telling you are issues 🤦🏻♂️.Nano SkrimpVersion: 7.2.3
Horrible AppEverything within the app is horribly slow. It frequently locks up while trying to load up the data from the section selected in the interface. Their website seems to also suffer from this problem. It is slow and pages lock up while loading data.
Messages from the doctor show up in small text at the bottom of the screen. That is fine for short 1 sentence responses from the doctor but any longer message would be difficult to read. Messages should be opened in a separate window, screen, or in some way separated from the rest of messages and also from the rest of the app.
What is the point of using an app instead of just a website/web portal if it does not take advantage of any of the hardware platform it is running on. An example of this is the use of PIN codes for access. Why not use the fingerprint reader (Touch ID on iOS) or facial recognition if the hardware supports it?
Scheduling an appointment is also much more difficult than it needs to be if your doctor is part of a large group. When requesting an appointment it shows every doctor in the group not just your doctor. That might not be so bad except that it only shows a small number of doctors at a time. You then have to scroll down and let it load a small list of more doctors. Having to constantly keep scrolling to the bottom, wait for it to load a small amount of doctors, and keep repeating this process until you find you doctor is slow and frankly irritating. Also why are the doctors sorted alphabetically by first name. Some doctors are referred to by their first name by patients but most are referred to by their last name..McspaulVersion: 5.3.0
App is not accessible to blind usersI rely on voiceover, a screen reader on Apple iPhones to use my phone and apps that I download onto it. Furthermore, I rely on my doctors health applications so that I can independently review my health information and make informed decisions in my healthcare. With this app, I am having problems accessing my Health information, the app refreshes while I am trying to navigate using voice over gestures, and I cannot utilize the messaging feature. In many situations, it has taken me over 30 or 45 minutes to read important information such as my lab results and vitals. It should normally take about 10 or so minutes to do this. I respectfully ask that you make the changes necessary for this application to be compatible with voiceover, as this electronic application is one of the only ways that blind people can independently access their health records.
I thank you for your time and consideration reading this review..Labishop123Version: 6.9.1
WORST APP OF ALL TIMEI have NUMEROUS times messaged my PCP and pulmonologist lengthy messages only to “finish” and it not go through … without any explanation, warning or notification. This has happened so many times and I’m tired of wasting my time detailing a message only for it to NOT SEND! Good grief! The amount of times I have typed, re-typed and typed a message is UNBELIEVABLE! Not to mention the time I waste assuming it was sent …. with no confirmation, no copy of it being sent, no copy if it in the Inbox, Outbox, or Deleted, etc. is ridiculous. And to make matters worse, at different random times it WILL send and again, no confirmation, no copy of it in the Inbox, etc. How in the world am I supposed to know when/if my physician even receives it? It is an absolute waste of time, not to mention said “records” of visits are sparse with no real information. I detest using this app and would rather sit on hold for 20 min than trust my health with this useless app..BizzyMomOf3BoysVersion: 7.3.0
Useless!I use this app for my neurologist. Out of all the specialist I see, it’s one of the two most important! I haven’t been able to get an email response from my doctor’s office since 2017 via the app!
What you see on the app:
- Some of your records. -you cannot open your lab results, or anything like that though.
- Maybe half of your medications that you take from other doctors.
- Appointments (this feature I’ve never had trouble with).
- As I mentioned that it’s been two years since I’ve received an email from my doctors office via the app or even to my personal email... I can’t tell if the office is even getting the emails from the program, or if the new MAs are even aware of the program! (This makes me miss the people that left office.) Or to be honest if my doctor is even aware of the program!
My pharmacy gets notes from my doctor to give to me about seeing him immediately, yet his front desk balks at that notion, so when I try to contact my doctor via the app to let him know... there’s always radio silence.
Then to make things worse, you cannot reply to an email thread. It has to be a new email. Therefore, no one can keep track of vital information such as seizures or anything of the like!
I wish my office would switch to a more efficient program, or that Healow would fix their glitches for the sake of doctors and patients alike..BallisticsGirlVersion: 5.5.1
It’s a useful app when it wants to workI like being able to connect to my doctor without needing to cal and monitor my lab results and medications on here but the app itself is extremely buggy. Right now I can’t even log in using my pin, it’ll take me to the Home Screen and then immediately back to the pin Lock Screen. After entering my pin again, it’ll tell me an error has occurred.
Not only that but messages never load properly, and you cant reply outright to any messages, you have to go in and create a brand new message to send out. The hit points of each button aren’t properly placed so you have to make sure you hit dead center (sometimes not even dead center) in order to click on certain names or access files. This is lack of basic design knowledge.
Overall the functionality and the UI design of this app fails in a lot of ways and I feel the only reason why this app even still exists is because it’s a necessity for patients like me to use. That’s not a good business practice at all. You’re doing less than the bare minimum of whats required to have a functional app. Whatever bugs you may have fixed generally end up causing more problems.
Please hire a team that knows how to integrate functionality into design..GarbagesquidVersion: 6.8.1
No Connection to Apple HealthMy first of many complaints about this app is it’s lack of being able to connect to Apple Health to import my health records from my doctor. It’s a simple feature that would allow me to view my health data from this app along with my other records so I can get a comprehensive view. My next complaint is the inability to reply to a message from my doctor. To have any sort of conversation I have to start a new message in order to reply to anything from my doctor. I don’t know if this is an issue with the app or how the healthcare providers have configured the app, but I’ve run into this issue with more than one practice using this app. Lastly, why is there no dedicated iPad app? Using an iPhone app on an iPad is terrible and this is another simple feature that would give users more options for how to use the app..Eric536C75747AVersion: 7.2.2
Problem with the appThis is the first time this is ever happened, but I click on the test result and usually it brings you to another window that shows you the test result, but for some reason it’s showing me a blank page. I had blood drawn on November 12 and the icon says the November 15 test result for the particular blood test and usually when you click on it it shows you the results but for some reason it brings you to a blank page today, so I’m not happy because I’m eager to know the result. I had two other blood test drawn on November 12 and the results were available on November 13 and when I clicked on either of them, they bring me to another window that tells me the results. The results are showing for only two out of the three blood tests. All three are clickable, but only two of the three showed me a result in the third one just brings me to a blank page..Mundane2MysticVersion: 7.4.1
Missing a lotOf course not all of my doctors use this app. Those that do as well as the associated hospital, are missing information or have different information.
I went for blood work and all the results showed under test results. Three weeks later the doctor wanted one more test, it doesn't show anywhere but he did get the results.
I had an appointment for a colonoscopy at the hospital with one of it doctors, neither the preliminary appointment nor the later hospital visit showed anywhere. At the hospital they were question me about the drugs I take but asked about some I haven't taken in years. Why? Because the list of drugs they have for me doesn't match the app's list and neither are accurate. No way a patient can correct any of this crap.
Exactly what good is this app if the hospital, the doctors and reality don't match? In emergency they would have incomplete or total wrong data..Danrich_usVersion: 7.1.0
Messaging system is awfulThe app in general feels clunky to use. But the main issue I have is that the messaging system is difficult to keep track of. As far as I can tell, there's no way to see messages you've sent to your providers. Similarly, you cannot reply to messages you receive from your providers. The end result is that I can never remind myself what I've already sent to my provider and when, and in every new message response to my providers I have to explicitly reference the context that I'm messaging them about.
Simply adding an outbox, and the ability to reply and create essentially "email threads" would massively improve this glaring issue. This style of messaging has been around for ages because it works well for most cases. It'd not groundbreaking. That it's not already a basic feature of the application despite it being the year 2022 is absolutely baffling..TuireannVersion: 6.9.1
CommunicationI have an app for my Gp, one for my Cardiologist, one for the dentist, one for Iowa Health, one for the dermatologist. All -in-all, it’s a real pain! I don’t remember all the passwords and user Id’s and generally get frustrated and just ignore them. If you people were really clever, you would use a format to talk to each other and not have everyone playing their own game!
I now tell offices just to call me if they have something to say. At 75 years old I don’t need more frustration in my life, and I think this is one I’ll just cut out!
Just now (as a handy example) the reply asked me to supply a nickname to post with the comments. I have one and a popup told me that it had been used - to choose another. The screen then went back to my comments with no option for a nickname. I will try SEND but this could be much more user friendly..Lord I get tired of thisVersion: 7.0.3
Terrible website and appTook me one hour to reset the password set by the provider. The app does not provide the link to “forgot password” so I navigated to the website to do so. Very non user friendly website (accessed from mobile). The help center page has a developer issue- I was unable to read the solution due to collapsed page. Once I managed to log in, I needed to change my username/email because it contained an error but I was unable to do so. According to the help video, I was supposed to be able to find a “check in” tile and click on a pencil icon to update my email. However, in the latest version of the app I just downloaded today it has no icon that says “check in.” Is the help video outdated? Overall, very unsatisfactory experience on both the website and app. Need significant improvement..SilveRod88Version: 7.0.3
Strongly recommend to avoid downloading this appI went to a clinic that uses Healow to do billing. They were charging me $10 per month for awhile so I called the clinic to stop and they said there is no account under my name so I should just ignore those email notifications. And I did that for 2 years and recently I started to wonder again so I called Healow App and they said they found my account.. but Healow doesn’t have a way to cancel my subscription so I again have to call clinic who is helpless. Now the Healow app is telling me to pay those monthly $10 x 2 years now so the clinic can cancel my account which I don’t even know If I can trust😭 at this point I will just pay and be done for all. But if you dont want to go through what i went through, I really strongly recommend not to use this app. Just pay with cash at the spot and avoid using this app at all cost..TomonsterzVersion: 7.2.1
Poorly organized can’t just login on two different devices like a normal person.Like the title says, the app is poorly organized. The only reason why I use it is it’s what my Dr uses. For some reason on my tablet the whole app stays really small like it’s on a phone with the rest of the screen just black, why? But the reason I’m writing this is that when I went to put it on my phone, instead of just allowing me to login, it wants me to redo everything all over again??? Why??? It’s a glorified email service, just let me login on my devices. What happens if I make a new account with my same name and PIN? does it erase my other one? Dunno, don’t want to waste my time with it. Bleh, not even typing correctly cuz I’m tired and irritated. Drs, if you have another option- look elsewhere please. For you patients’ sakes..WhycantyoujustusemyusernameVersion: 7.0.3
