Healow Positive Reviews

Denied me careI picked a provider based on the conditions I may be struggling with. Took a week it feels like to even get someone to communicate with me on why it kept asking for my insurance and ID after uploading it several times. I even uploaded my history with medications from my previous doctor I had before moving out of state last summer. In which I’m only taking on for migraines. I finally got through to someone by email. Then was quickly denied care because they don’t treat basic mental health conditions and that they don’t take my insurance. I literally selected a provider based on both that they suggested to me based on my insurance and conditions. My insurance is listed right at the top. This just adds another layer to my trauma caused my medical care. I’ve been trying to get through the past year with no care and I’m struggling. It’s hard going from thinking you will have someone to talk too soon to nothing. I would avoid this app and their providers as a result. I’ve been crying all morning. It was a huge step for me to even reach out to this new form of care..Version: 7.3.4

Needs a different layout approachThe app used to be a bit easier to navigate. However, over time and updates it has become cluttered and less navigable. It took myself and my doctor’s assistant to figure out how to add their practice to my account. I thought I was going crazy until she had the same experience. There were so many loops to go through that didn’t flow well. After jumping around and running in circles, the practice finally showed up in strange areas. When I tried to access the practice, it would default to an old provider I haven’t been to or used for over 5 years. Every function defaults to that provider’s practice, and since it’s reading it as a default, it’s very difficult to find a way to delete this old one. I can delete others like my PCP, but not the one I want to delete. Also, my specialist physician I worked on with this app sent me a test message and it took over 15 minutes to receive and it doesn’t give you a notification. I had to go into the messages to see if it showed. If I hadn’t been checking, I would’ve missed it. It’s aggravation no one has time for especially when dealing with sensitive health issues. I’m a previous computer programmer and I know from professional experience that this is all a programming issue that could easily be resolved with more attention, care, intellect, and testing. Start programming from a patient’s perspective who may be using multiple providers. Imagine your users not being tech savvy—design from that perspective. For your sake, I sure hope something is done before providers drop their accounts with Healow due to negative feedback from their patients..Version: 7.4.1

Super Helpful Health Tracking App :)I’ve used ‘healow’ for several years now. In that time I’ve had a couple of surgeries, mental health appointments, ER visits, 2 hospital stays, medical appointments, drug & alcohol abuse rehab, prescriptions, annual physicals, etc, etc & being a person with ADHD it helps me tremendously with keeping all my important heath info together, organized, situated, handy, easy to understand & access…ANYWHERE at that! It’s fantastic & has been super helpful in tracking my heath informations making my appointments efficient - I leave feeling heard, confident, knowledgeable - like I got my $ worth. My Dr’s are able to treat me comprehensively because they’re fully informed, & are happy to respectfully hear me out as a patient because they can see I care about my health. It’s a win-win all around. I highly recommend this app. Thank you developers, from the bottom of my heart. I truly love your app. ❤️.Version: 6.9.1

Would LOVE to give more stars!!I have a “new” issue. I need to delete a message that my Doctor has answered (it’s 6 months old and I understand the response). When I try to delete it, I get a message from the app saying that “multiple messages cannot be deleted”. It is a question from me, and an answer from the Doctor to that question. I don’t NEED to keep the message, so HOW can I get rid of it?? There is no option to delete each message separately from that thread! HELPP!!!!! OH! Apparently, the developers only respond to “positive feedback” and ignore the requests for help . The app itself is a great way to keep track of medical information and appointments! It does exactly what they say it does. HOWEVER!!! Do NOT trust the location map that comes up when you open up a message about a prescription. I live in “Deep East Texas”, my pharmacy is LESS than a mile away, but the MAP does the pin drop out in the South Atlantic Ocean over by Africa: that’s a LOOONNGG way from Texas!🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 Nope! Sorry! NO prescription is worth traveling THAT far!!!.Version: 7.3.1

Setting up credentials is a nightmareIt is basically impossible to set up credentials with a password manager that work with both the app and the website. I had forgotten my PIN since it had been months since I logged in. So I reset my creds using the Patient Portal and put my password in LastPass. So I go to my phone and try to log in. I say “forgot pin”. Brings up a user name and password screen. Unlike other apps, however, it does not allow either iCloud logins or LastPass to enter for me. The “passwords” panel does not come up. I switch to LastPass, copy my password, go back to Healow, and it starts over, asking for my PIN. So I go through it again, get to the password screen, paste it in, and it won’t let me proceed. I try again, this time using something called “Easy login”. But, of course, when you copy something out of LastPass, you can only paste once, so I switch out, copy it, switch back, and it starts over with “Enter PIN”. I eventually get to a screen that says “Enter new password”. I paste in the password from LastPass, and it won’t let me proceed again. Next button does nothing. I finally looked at my password. It started with a semicolon. So I copied the password out of LastPass and pasted into Notes. Edited the password so it starts with a letter. Copied it out of Notes. And went back to Healow and had to start over AGAIN. It finally worked. I pasted the new password back into LastPass. Deleted the Notes doc. This auth system is terrible..Version: 7.0.3

Only used to my advantage a few timesI thought I’d get a review to this app because I’m finally learning how to use it and so far so good. I sent one message to my doctor. I got a phone call the next morning first thing. I sent my second message today and it is 5:24 PM. Hoping to hear back from my doctor tomorrow to be able to see the Doctor Who is on call, instead of my primary doctor for concerning issue. But I think I like this, I really do. I’m able to add things to my calendar from my messages and I’m able to send messages and use my voice and text precise and clear.! I haven’t had the erase and redo anything. I also like the fact that I can check in earlier on the app and even make the copayment. I haven’t tried that yet, but I will try to remember that next time I go and I’m a few minutes early or before I get there. How about that?!.Version: 7.2.2

My Experience Since August 2006I’m totally blown away with the resources available here. From Referrals, Test and Results, Diagnosis, Health Problems, Medications, and overall easiness to use the program. OMG, LCHC, CCMH, whomever created this application deserves a pay increase. Only thing I’d like to see, records back to 2006. I understand they started when it all changed to LCHC, CCMH, and digitizing records. Those early years would be from a PCM. -2nd thing to possibly add or provide, have granted access to Health Insurance Providers, Social Security Disabled (SSDI) and Veterans Affairs (VA), for 100% totally disabled patients. We, the doctor and patient sometimes get told to conduct test for e.g. TRICARE purposes? This application is so powerful, so only the precise requested test or results is provided. Not an open invitation. Just access to requested data thru CCMH/LCHC approved PHI/PII data security and management..Version: 7.4.0

Convenient & EasyI had no idea about this app until I began seeing a psychiatrist through Talkiatry. For the most part the app is great but occasionally I have experienced glitches though none very recently. The main issue I saw was sometimes when using AirPods while on a virtual visit with my doctor, she couldn’t hear me. Also, during one of my visits I received a call and rejected it and after that, my doctor couldn’t hear me anymore and we had to exit the chat and use FaceTime. After this I started using Do Not Disturb during my appointments and haven’t seen the issue since so it may have nothing to do with the app at all. Lastly, the only other issue I’ve had was mainly when I first started using Healow and that was occasional grainy/choppy video even with high speed internet. Overall a great app though. Messaging my doctor and requesting refills is a breeze as well..Version: 7.3.0

Don’t understand what most of you have Against security measuresI for one like the added measures. If you’ve ever had your identity stolen and your medical information and insurance used and then have to fight for years to clean it up you should be happy that they’re taking these extra subs to protect you so one extra strap may be frustrating but in the long run it could be saving you 1 million other stops. Love the doctors love the app and the security. With having stage four bone cancer that is now going to the brain barrier my left orbital socket and plate the extra measures are good for me and I take them every time because I am not having my identity insurance and all of that stolen again so I praise the app, five stars I’d give it 10 if I could.Version: 6.9.0

Nice features but the interface could use some workBeing able to communicate directly with my doctor through the app has been a game changer. Being able to see my medical records on the app is amazing! Here are a couple of suggestions though. The messaging feature is a little clunky. Unless I access it from the records section of the app, it won’t let me reply to messages. Even worse, you have to start over each time on selecting your provider/facility, then your doctor. Can we please get the ability to just have that information saved and pre-populated when writing messages until we change it? Additionally, it would be really great to be able to share file attachments like images or PDFs. Lastly, I love the feature where you can share Fitbit data with your doctor. Will we one day be able to also share Apple Health data? It would be great to able to give my doctor access to data from my Apple Watch..Version: 5.5.1

Unable to simply log inUpdate, August 2024- we are able to log in now but the app only populates with appt dates and old medication. We are unable to see visit summaries or lab results- the very purpose of us having the app. One of the dr office staff said her app has the same issue. Original review: I was excited to have an EMR app for my elderly mother, both for her to communicate with her medical provider but also as a long distance caretaker myself to monitor her lab results etc. This app has been incredibly frustrating- especially compared to others I’ve used. We set the app up for my mother so she could use it on her own HOWEVER each time we return to this app it’s as if we have to give info as a new user each time- it doesn’t retain her user info apparently. This is completely unacceptable and makes the app way too complicated for people such as the elderly with little experience using electronic apps..Version: 7.2.3

Not at all accessible. My general practitioner as well as my allergist both use this app. It is not at all accessible. It was somewhat accessible in earlier versions, but now that it has changed, the accessibility is completely out the window. most frustrating? The buttons are not labeled to start with, which would be incredibly helpful if they were. you have to tell your App designers that you can’t just label a button, “button,” and have that be that. You have to tell me what it means. Messages, appointments, etc. because of this, there is no way for me to find the messages portal, so I can’t leave a message with my doctor at all. Also cannot make an appointment. I am blind, the only way now that I can even reach my doctors is to call them, because this app is absolutely useless. Please fix it. We need some help here..Version: 7.0.3

FrustratedOne of my providers uses healow and it works fine. But now another of my providers also uses it as their patient portal. I am unable to add them to healow. I’ve tried to follow instructions I’ve found on line but my screen doesn’t even look like it perhaps should. My provider has thrown up their hands because other patients have the same problem. Do you have a solution? May 20,2026 Developer sent instructions to add an additional provider. Following them (although in the beginning seemed counterintuitive) worked. Thank you. I was offered a link to update my review. Opened first review with no clear instructions so I updated to 5 stars and just added this to the bottom of initial review..Version: 7.6.2

Collaborative Team EffortAdvanced Healthcare has always been a Team Effort. Healow gives me, a typical, maybe even a more atypical mature patient a seat at one end of the table, my PCP at the other as we collaborate in the Holistic approach to keeping my entire System running smoothly, with complete transparency. I would really love for Healow to share my data with Epic to bridge the Overlapping, “Gap” between the two platforms. Same Data, different Applications that could have legally separate databases, which synchronize some key data. Like International Banking. Each country has their own database with host country being primary ownership of the country’s data, synchronizing with each other to keep shared data as a mirror..Version: 7.6.2

The best app, for the very best Doctor.I’ve seen my doctor going on over 10 year. The problems I have were so huge that it would overwhelm most doctors, not this doctor. He saved my life and I’ll always be happy and respect him, not only him as as a person, but I’ll always trust and respect his treatment and medication plans. Not only has the treatment he has given me works l, but I’m no longer the sick and dying person that I was going to be. This app shows all the meds I’m on, it shows so many things that makes me feel like my doctor is always an app away. So thank you, Healow, for letting me write this to show just a little of how I feel about my doctor and this app. Thanks Again, Steven S..Version: 5.4.0

Good but messaging needs improvementThis App is a well done application that provides good medical record keeping and communication between patient and doctors. The one issue that is a problem for this application is the messaging. When constructing a message addressed to a doctor, many times an error appears when attempting to send a message, “only valid characters are allowed (A-Z, a-z, 0-9), including all special characters“. Yet the message does not include any invalid characters or even special characters beyond “)” and “(“ according to the error message. To work around this error, I have to construct my message in the IOS “note” app and then copy/paste the message to the Healow app. This is very inconvenient. But I still use this application to communicate with my doctors..Version: 6.9.1

Works but needs workThough I installed this app a couple years ago, I haven’t needed to really use it until recently. How do I delete or even archive “we miss you” or “happy holidays” messages? Messages need the option to maintain their thread like in every other messaging app. I like having a history of my lab and test results and have been able to rely on this feature and is what has kept me using it. One of my main concerns is readability. The fonts are small, thin and lightweight which makes them difficult to read. I could rely more on the icons (appointments, records, etc) on the main screen if they’re easier to see (small, faint, and detailed). Ironically they are easier to see on the Help screen! The readability issue applies to every screen. Sadly, I think this app must be one of the lower priced among the options for medical professionals. The version history reflects a lot of bug response, but the last enhancement was 8 months ago and the last update 2 years ago. The in-app “report a problem” is non-functioning. I question whether the development team even follows reviews/suggestions for improvement or actively works to improve this app. It works, but comes in juuuust under the wire..Version: 6.6.0

Zoom meeting with my doctor RaminfarI really enjoy having Zoom meetings with my doctor. He is the best doctor I have had in years. I’m 58 years old and I must say he is the best of the best. He totally understands. He’s extremely patient. And most importantly, and the best of all is that he listens. If I ask for an explanation regarding the medicine that has been prescribed, he gives me full explanation. He gives me full explanation in regards to any questions that I have and he does not rush me. I have had five surgeries since an accident on my job and even though he’s coming in at the tail end, you would never think. That he’s coming in at the tail end. He’s just my Rock..Version: 7.4.2

Updated : No Longer a Trash AppUpdate: the below experience has been resolved with recent iOS updates. The app now works as expected. It’s got a nice interface and the scheduling system seems to work well. That’s all I’ve used so far, and I like what I’ve used. I’ll update and add that last star later once I’m fully accustomed to the app. So far, so good. “During the setup process this app won’t allow me to save a new password, you push the done button and it just sits there and never moves forward. No error warnings, no indication of what’s wrong, just a dead app stuck on the setup screen. The password chosen meets the criteria, but the app won’t tell you what the problem is. Useless.”.Version: 7.3.4

Heading in right directionThis app has a lot of excellent features, and I especially appreciate the efficiency of communication it allows between me and my children’s pediatrician. I have been using this app for several years now, and the main thing I‘d ask you to improve is the messaging. Parents/patients need the ability to reply, and to also see the original sent message. It’s really frustrating to have to completely start over a message each time a response is needed, and to not even be able to refer back to the original/other follow-up messages. ... Other than that, the app’s features are really great. Love the access to all records, lab reports, health logs, visit summaries, etc. UX is intuitive and simple..Version: 6.6.0
