Great companion app to AutoSleep.

Without a bedroom partner, I have been unable to answer my doctor’s questions about my snoring patterns. Not only does this app capture that very well, it correlates it to my sleeping stages in AutoSleep. I would have rated it five stars if it had better integration with AutoSleep and podcast listening. I’d like to see the app start and stop its data capture automatically like AutoSleep. It also does not capture data if I’m playing a podcast after starting it. I often fall asleep to short podcasts and it’s disappointing to discover that snoring data is not captured after the podcast ends.

Wow!

At this point I will basically buy any app this team releases day one, even if I don’t see a need for it (long time user of HeartWatch, AutoSleep, etc.). This one is personal though, because I’ve been a snorer for a LONG time. For years my wife has been telling me how bad my sleep is, and while I never doubted her, I also don’t think it could be that bad. After a week of use I now know better. This app is great for capturing what’s happening while you’re asleep, I’m now planning to collect a month’s worth of data and go my doctor and ask about what I should do next. Thanks team, please keep these great apps coming!

Speaker Issue Persists — Edit

Update: It seems the speaker issue has been corrected. Thank you. Not to figure out why it recorded the podcast I was listening to even though I believe I set the setting to not record the podcast. I listen to podcasts on speaker as I fall asleep but this app switches the audio to the earpiece speaker and the audio level drops to the point I can no longer hear the podcast. Your version update notes state this issue was fixed but apparently it has not. This app is unusable to me as is. Please correct this issue.

Great for sleep analysis

I bought this app to help track possible sleep disturbances. It identified some disturbances during the night. It even saved short sound clips for review. I think my snore count may be too high. I stopped one session before falling asleep. Even though I was awake, the app reported a significant number of snores. I give major points to the developer for no subscription and no data collection! I haven’t had the app long enough to form a final opinion yet. I will edit my review after I spend more nights with it.

Mike CurlVersion: 1.2
So Close

The concept of this app is great, one thing is I would request it auto begins tracking snoring when the AutoSleep app detects you are asleep. That would help becuase long term I would prefer to not manually begin it and similar apps have integrated an auto track feature such as Samsung health. Looking forward to using this app, auto sleep is my favorite app by far on the iPhone!

Well done- No subscription fee

I purchased this app out of loyalty (no subscription fees), and the excellent auto sleep app. This app captures what I have been trying to do with a recorder for years. Place the phone on the night stand, start the app, and it works. It does capture sounds, so if you have the tv on while you sleep, it does categories those separately. I set the app to hold only 7-days of information instead of the maximum 28.

Steeler DaveVersion: 1.2
Useful info!

The app is very cool, easy to use, and adds more value to my sleep data. My one request is that it work while music/video are playing on the same device, as I sometimes use them to fall asleep (with sleep timer). When I tried, the recording stopped. The lock screen still showed the recording time, but in the app, the Start button was enabled. Thanks!!

DontDeleteIfNickNameIsTakenVersion: 1.2
Had an issue first night, but easy to solve and great app

On the first night it didn’t work. I read the reviews again and realized I couldn’t use another music or meditation app at the same time. So I used an iPad for that, then autosnore worked great. Used ChatGPT for ideas to reduce snoring and it’s working. Nothing like good data to help solve problems. And autosnore gives great data. And I like that it works with AutoSleep too!

Jerry777hunterVersion: 1.2
Great app. Just one feedback.

I’ve been using AutoSleep and this developer apps for years, and this one is up to the expectations. My only problem is that after waking up, sometimes the app still shows in the Dynamic Island as active and it takes several open and closing of the app to fix it. Still totally worth it. I recommend this app.

Aner1018Version: 1.2
This app is great!

I am using AutoSleep app from this developer for years and I really love it. Great features, and very nice design. Now I see them introduced this new app - AutoSnore so I purchase it immediately cuz I know this will be a great app too. Also I want to support this developer. I have using this app for 2 nights and it works like a charm! Highly recommend this app for you.

JasonH1125Version: 1.1
Not Reliabke

It only works about half the time. On the days that it fails I cone back to the app and it only shows “Start” and not “Stop”. It show the number of snores but the timeline is empty. The Dynamic Island continues to show the timer like it is running. When it works it is fine. I like the fact that it is a one time purchase,

CyclistaVersion: 1.2
Who’s Snoring

I’ve been using the app for less than a week so still getting used to reading the results. I know this app can’t see who’s snoring but I really don’t know if it’s me or my husband. He talks in his sleep and it records that so it makes me think the snoring that’s getting recorded is him. Any thoughts?

BluJeanzVersion: 1.5
Feature request: buzz my watch if I’m snoring

Hearing my own log sawing played back at me is a humbling experience. I like the fundamentals of the app, but my wife would like it to give me an electric shock/gentle nudge through my watch when I start snoring, so she doesn’t have to wake up to poke at me.

Les LimVersion: 1.3
Great Launch but needs a little more…

The app is great, does the trick as promised. But personally a lot of times I forget to turn it on. For me, needs an automation (shortcuts) for use with focus mode and to check if it connected to charger to turn it on automatically. Based on that logic. The integration with auto sleep is great. And of course

Leinad!Version: 1.3
Fails to work some nights

I’ve used this for 3 weeks and it has failed two nights to record anything. My watch indicates that it is functioning. Yet, when I manually stop the phone app in the morning, it indicates no snores.

SpunkyJohnVersion: 1.5
Disappointed

The app seemed like it would be great…however, it only captured information 1 night out of 15 that I tried to set it to work. I’m not sure what happened to the app but it is not working…

Rivah1Version: 1.3
Good Start

I am enjoying it so far. I hope eventually it can start itself automatically when AutoSleep starts. Starting it manually is something I’ve only remembered to do once so far. ◡̈

Why doesn’t it start on the first try?

Took a few mornings of being told it never started, then figured out it took more than one try to get it to start.

FitzaerVersion: 1.5
Great Addition

Very helpful to see snoring intensity. It helps bring more essential data to AutoSleep. Loving forward to more advanced data in the future, such as, understanding your body position during high and low snoring.

EddyD23Version: 1.2
Excellent - no subscription

Does the job well, importantly with not subscription or data leakage unlike SnoreLab, which is is wildly overpriced and a data privacy nightmare.

X-trainVersion: 1.5
Great app

Like the one time fee vs dreaded monthly subscription and integration with their other app AutoSleep. Only downside is that one has to start this one manually whereas AutoSleep starts automatically, hence its name.

Brs8vVersion: 1.2
Do I REALLY snore?

My husband told me I snore and I would always reply “I don’t think I do.” However, with AutoSnore, it’s hard to deny his allegations. Every morning I’m shocked by the recorded number of snores. It works.

Denying WifeVersion: 1.2
Neat for curiosity

Decided to give this a try as there is no subscription and I enjoy AutoSleep. So my partner wasn’t lying, I do snore. Or we both do haha With that being said, I found lots of static listening to some of the recordings, maybe I need to move it a bit closer to me while I sleep? I also tend to fall asleep with a movie running, it tends to pick up stuff from the TV and count it. Is there a way to dial it in to focus on me? last, with a partner, how does the app know if it is me or not?

AutoSnore: Snoring Recorder Negative Reviews and Ratings

Good start, needs work

Bought this blindly because I really admire AutoSleep and the developer, they don’t play the subscription game (except for one app), and their layouts and info are very well presented. However, I’ve used Autosnore a couple days and find it annoying so far. Requires one more thing to remember and do prior to sleeping, really should plug in phone (which I try and avoid due to EMF in sleep area). But mostly I’m finding that it doesn’t seem to differentiate noises (yet). As someone who sleeps with a CPAP, I’m getting mostly garbage data at the moment. I might try another location, but I fear that this noise won’t allow it to pick up any actual snoring. And as for the increasingly complex pre-sleep duties, at this point maybe the developer could create some downloadable shortcuts to use to just push once and enable sleep focus and autosnore. Or better yet find a way for it to tap into Autosleep’s condition or any other method of avoiding opening yet another app every night just before sleep. I appreciate this developer and $5 bucks is a donation from me if this doesn’t get fixed. Hopefully the developer expands on this idea and makes it as useful as Autocleep is to everyone I share it with.

EthericMustardVersion: 1.1
Missing critical feature

This developers application AutoSleep is absolutely stellar. I use it daily, and so hoped this would be a well developed and natural pairing. It has promise, and if they attend to it as they have with AutoSleep, I’m sure it will be excellent. However, right now, it is missing the essential user ability to filter the noises that it records as “not snoring”. This means it generates a score based on all background noises, even those that are not snoring. I use a television show that puts me to sleep almost instantly, but that means there is roughly 25 minutes of recorded noise that is calculated as snoring. SnoreLab, a competing app, allows you to designate recorded noise as “not snoring”. This feature is necessary for me to make use of the app. I hope they prioritize adding this feature and I will change my review. Good stuff, though, keep up the good work!

ThepenVersion: 1.2
Not working as expected...

Long time nightly user of AutoSleep. Love that app. Especially because it just starts when I fall asleep. I expected AutoSnore to do the same. Then realized after buying you had to open and push Start each night. Fine. But I also like to listen to something as I doze off. So night two I pressed start, put in my AirPod til I was dozing off, put it away, then passed out. Woke to the Live Action running still. Opened the app and just see a Start button again... only after going to the help center I learned you can't use audio or other apps after starting a session or it doesn't work. So I would need to start dozing off, think about this app, then go in and press start in order to capture a night. Opposite of the ease of AutoSleep... this is not useful for me. Unfortunately I'm passed the refund window and unless the process changes I'll never use this.

NostalgicFuturistVersion: 1.1
Great idea but it has glitches

This app has been providing me with some valuable insights into my snoring problem, and I'm excited about the potential improvements ahead! However, I've noticed a few quirks that I hope will be fixed in future updates. Sometimes, it inaccurately labels sounds that aren't present during the night recordings. For example, it lists “snoring, music, breathing, laughing” in the titles, but when I play them back, I only hear snoring and breathing. Additionally, there are nights when it doesn’t record at all, and I get logged out. I look forward to seeing how these issues will be addressed and how the app will continue to enhance my understanding of my sleep patterns!

DarlingYtorVersion: 1.3
Does not work at all

Says it’s recording on the Home Screen but when you open the app it says it’s not recording. In order to get the timer off of the Home Screen you have to start recording (again) and let it run about 10 minutes (then it will show 2 timers on the Home Screen) then stop the timer, which will stop both timers. I’ve run the app every night since I got it over a week ago and I’ve caught exactly 2 seconds of sound, despite knowing for a fact my partner was laying next to me snoring like a freight train. I’ve been happily using the AutoSleep app for years and was excited about this update but am left very disappointed. I hope he gets it fixed or else offers a refund.

PugslyPuppyVersion: 1.2
I would give it zero stars if possible.

I’ve been using Auto Sleep for years. I thought auto snore would be good also. It is not. It’s very poorly thought out. It doesn’t record most nights even though I’ve set it to start and put my phone next to my bed. If you have zero snores, you should have a score of 100 Not 0, but if you don’t snore it literally doesn’t recognize that it’s recording? The only time it actually works is if I leave my air purifier on high, and then it will record that all night. It does a good job of recording everything in the room. It’s not good at identifying what the sounds are. I have still never gotten an actual score. It’s not like auto sleep where you can see a daily score. The history is terrible. It’s there today gone tomorrow unless you save a favorite snore clip. The UX is confusing. Badly needs more development before being released to the public. Consider the $5 a gift, because I love AutoSleep.

TracidmartinVersion: 1.2
Love AutoSleep, but nothing Auto about this one

I bought this right off the bat. Saw it was called AutoSnore from the people that made AutoSleep. I’ve used AutoSleep for years and recommended it to everyone. It’s light years better than anything else. A snoring add one would be perfect. Alas this is not that. For some reason AutoSleep can tell when you sleep but autosnore….nope. You have to manually start the app to say when you’re going to sleep. It makes the app completely worthless to me. Now I can only hope they update with some sort of automation. Until then I recommend you do t waste your money like I did.

GrantmethepowerVersion: 1.5
No subscription/ shows promise

First App review ever; Absolutely love AutoSleep as it works faithfully without subscription. AutoSnore has been 50/50. Have used it for 4 nights (so I thought) and only had it record for 2 of 4. Short nights or interrupted sleep seems to be 1 of the reasons it didn’t work and the other was perhaps user error. 🤷‍♂️ Unsure why I didn’t get a rating after 7+ hours uninterrupted sleep last night. I would like to love this app as well - hopeful that it too will live up to the expectations.

TexasDutchVersion: 1.3
Have had to delete and reinstall multiple times to get it to stop recording

On multiple occasions this app keeps recording. I stop it, I see the button that says ‘start’ yet it is still recording. The Dynamic Island shows it is recording, the lock screen widget shows it is recording, but there is no stop button. If I hit ‘start’ TWO sessions are now recording. Rebooting phone doesn’t help. It shows it is still recording afterwards. The only way to stop it is to delete the app and reinstall. Very, very annoying.

StarWebJimVersion: 1.3
Doesn’t work along with podcasts/mudic

I wish I would have been told it wouldn’t work if you listen to something to go to sleep. I’ve only had it for a few days, but I haven’t gotten to use it yet because I’ve fallen asleep to my podcast. If I don’t fall asleep I could close my podcast and push start. I’ll have to see how it works whenever I can manage to push start with nothing else running. I was hoping it would work since my podcast stops by itself, but it didn’t.

WantmusicVersion: 1.2
Great idea, one problem

I absolutely dig the no subscription model. That's a total win. One feedback though, when going through the recorded sounds, if you click on the next sound before the one you're listening to is finished, it doesn't stop it, they overlap. Or, for example you click on the same sound bit a few times in a row, it plays that many copies of it overlapped (it's like an echo).

XereonVersion: 1.5
Does not work if you listen to meditation music

I have meditation music I listen to as I fall to sleep. I follow the instructions and listen to this from my iPad while launching this on my iPhone. I am even careful to launch this first before connecting my headphones. Nothing seems to matter. My headphones connect to both my iPad and iPhone when they turn on and this messes up this app. I immediately go into the Bluetooth setting and disconnect the headphones but it does not matter. The app will not record. Very challenging. Going to use mother app. Would like a refund

BaseballMomma12Version: 1.3
This needs a lot of work

I’ve been using AutoSleep, and it works great. Needing to start AutoSnore doesn’t bother me. The issue is that if just doesn’t work. The first night, it said I snored 6 times, but it was just the conversation I had with my partner. The next night, although if was running, it failed to do anything. It just took me back to the start button. Since it advertised in AutoSleep, I thought it was going to be integrated into that app as well. It is not. As far as I can tell, this is not yet a functional app.

LadrawingVersion: 1.2
The app is not working

I had expected similar performance to AutoSleep which I have been using for a number of years. I can’t even tell if this is working at all. The help page says get support from the app; the app is sending me to the help page. Which telling me the best support is from the app. I sleep with a breathing device so there should at least be background. I used “Sleep Cycle” until they started charging. I had no problem with that app.

Dr Linda52Version: 1.2
Buggy and score makes zero sense

The UI is very clunky compared to another similar app I’ve used. It does not give you the ability to remove items that were incorrectly detected as snores (as in vehicles driving by). But the dumbest thing is, for example, last night I only had 9 snores (none of which were legit) yet I still somehow have a “snurk” score of 67? So if you are using this to try and gain more insight in the Autosleep app, don’t bother. Money and time wasted.

JimmydoooVersion: 1.2
Buggy — inconsistent reporting

When it works, it’s great. But some mornings I can’t get it to stop. I have to actually cycle power on my phone to shut the app down and other nights or mornings It says a number, but when you look at the app that it’s tied to that app says there’s no snoring. Maybe that’s the other apps problem, not sure.

LAMPinAlaskaVersion: 1.4
Still has lots of bugs

Several days a week the app fails and despite sending the company feedback weeks ago it still hasn’t been fixed. The app fails to register or record anything and the entire night is lost but the live activity is still on anyway. The company told me to restart my phone but that didn’t work. I won’t change my review until the app is updated with a fix.

SurrealNYCVersion: 1.3
Completely Bugged

When I opened the app in the morning, even the live counter was going, it asked me to Start as if it hadn’t been going all night. So no graph has shown even though it says “5” instances. The live counter is continuing to run in the island at the top of the phone screen. Quitting the app and restarting the phone don’t help. The app and phone are both fully updated. Waste of $5

JMHeath24Version: 1.2
Can’t listen to audiobook & use this app

Really disappointed that this app doesn’t work if you listen to audio while falling asleep. Also, the AI (?) noise categorization is ridiculous. The icon buttons aren’t sized properly for the text they contain and I assure you there were not 3 Snake Hisses last night in my bedroom. Nor were there any Duck Quacks or (sadly) Theremins.

SassyyoginiVersion: 1.2
Could be a 5

The interface and concept have very strong appeal. The inconsistency of the readings, however, suggests the reliability of the tech is not there yet. I’ll keep using it in order to build up the data set, to see if that improves things.

Tim GoebelVersion: 1.3
Buggy

I currently have the AutoSleep app and love it so I was excited to see that they came out with a snoring recording app. Unfortunately, it’s been very buggy it has yet to record any snoring even though Auto sleep shows sleep apnea. I have to reboot my phone to stop the app. Hope they work out these issues.

Agarver67Version: 1.2
The TV is being picked up

I sleep with the TV on each night, and the app said I had 133 incidents. When I checked what was being recorded, it was all the television. Is there a way to circumvent that? I didn’t actually have any snoring incidents.

Disappointed

I am like many others who discovered ( after reading the reviews) that this app won’t work if you like to listen to a podcast before going to sleep. Hopefully there will be an update to correct this soon. Had high hopes and expectations as the AutoSleep app is great , but this one definitely lets the side down.

Autosleep is amazing and I expected that from this app. Should start recording when autosleep starts recording sleep. None of the hit start nonsense which gets messed up if you wake up mid sleep. And live activity is totally messed up. Please fix it.

Don a user

I am impressed by the date collected presentation and integration with AotoSleep, however the lack of ability to setup Apple-Shortcut’s and having to manually start/stop the app is a problem and makes it a hassle to use, just think the app needs a lot more user interface interface improvements

Only worked the first night I used it. Hasn’t worked since. I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. I set it to record for a week straight but every morning when I wake it, it’s not working I don’t even bother using it anymore. Too bad, it really seems like it would be a great app, if it worked.

As a user of AutoSleep and HeartWatch and a data nerd, I was interested in this new option. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to work alongside Endel, which I also use. A curiosity

I have used this for only one night. It could not have been accurate regarding my snoring. Even my partner, who snores a lot and loudly, acknowledges that I snore little. In order for me to get a decent sleep we sleep four to five metres apart. Last night I used AutoSnore with my phone less than a metre from me with me between my phone and my partner. AutoSnore reported that I snored over 4,000 times in eight hours. That is more than 500 times an hour; over eight times a minute. A snore at least every seven seconds. But it’s worse. My alleged snoring was in two clusters, each about two hours long, for a total of four hours. Over 4,000 snores in four hours; 1,000/hour; 16/minute; a snore every 4 seconds? I don’t think so. I would have to be hyperventilating all night.

Auto start not available

If you started this app with my autosleep app I would give it a higher rating.
