Did you just experience an earthquake? Find out how close and how big it was with iFeltThat, the most customizable worldwide earthquake app for the iPhone and iPod touch.

iFeltThat retrieves information directly from official USGS sources to show you seven days of microquake activity as low as magnitude 1.0 in most U.S. regions. Earthquake lists for U.S. regions show you precisely where an event occurred (not just "Northern California," but "5 mi SE of Santa Rosa, CA"). Rotate any list view to see the region-wide map. You can also see at a glance how many citizens reported the event to the USGS "Did You Feel It?" service

In addition to 20 region-specific event listings around the world (visit support page for a complete list), iFeltThat features a Nearby region, which uses your current location as a center point. Add an unlimited number of center points from your Address Book to keep an eye on seismic activity near your family and friends (or your own hometown while you travel) down to magnitude 1.0 in the U.S. (4.5 elsewhere). Or set a center point from any event location around the world to monitor earthquake swarms within 500 miles of the center point.

View single-event and interactive region-wide maps in roadmap or satellite hybrid styles. All maps are pinch-zoomable and draggable, just like the Maps app. Optional one-touch zoom buttons in detail maps let you zoom in and out quickly for one-handed operation while on the go. Tap the Newer and Older buttons to navigate instantly from quake detail to quake detail without having to go back to the list.

Whenever a ••USGS Shake Map•• is available for an event, a special icon appears in that event's detail view. Tap the icon to see the Shake Map within iFeltThat. In fact, all related web pages (including direct access to North American and Pacific/Indian Ocean ••Tsunami Warnings••) appear inside the app. Also from inside the app, send an email with info, links, and a screenshot of an event detail screen/map to anyone you like.

Customize which four regions are ready to view at a single tap on the bottom bar. For each region list, set the minimum magnitude threshold and default map zoom level.

One earthquake may have brought you to iFeltThat. You'll be so intrigued monitoring unexpected earth movements near you and around the world that you may find yourself using IFeltThat more often than you check the weather or news.

IFeltThat Earthquake App Comments & Reviews

IFeltThat Earthquake Positive Reviews

This App Is....DECEMBER 2022 UPDATE: As of today, 1 December 2022, the app is no longer displaying any of the Shake Maps. Got a message saying something about the webpage partially being in an unreadable format. Please fix. REVISED UPDATE OCTOBER 2020: App has been fixed and is now apparently functioning normally. Thank you, developer! UPDATE OCTOBER 2020: App no longer works. When clicked on, it opens for a second and then immediately closes. Just started doing this today on October 19th, 2020. I use this app every day. Looks like the app hasn’t been updated in five years, so time is catching up. Please update it and make it useable again. UPDATE: February 1st, 2017: The app now crashes constantly when I try to open it on my iPhone 6s Plus. I turned off my phone and turned it back on, and the problem still persists. Not sure what's going on. I do know there was an iOS update a couple of days ago, so there must be a conflict. Can no longer use the app due to this constant crashing. Not Recommended at this point in time. UPDATE: The developer has fixed the app and republished it in the App Store as of June 20th, 2015. So glad to have it back! It is working fine now, and the USGS feeds have been restored. One thing that I wish the app would do is send a push notification whenever there is a quake in or near an area specified by the user. Other quake apps have that feature, and it seems like a basic feature any app should have. Really appreciate the developer fixing the app and making it as good as new again. However, I suggest that the developer send out some kind of notification to people who already own the app that he will be removing it from the app store for maintenance the next time the app breaks. When the app quit working and then simply vanished from the App Store a day or two later, it looked like the developer pulled the plug on the app and was no longer going to support it or offer it for purchase in the App Store. It seemed as if the app and the developer simply vanished into the night. *************** As of a few days ago around June 1, 2015, this app no longer receives any feeds from the USGS. When the app is open, the screen is just blank. The developer left a note in the app saying that he was looking into it, but that was a couple days ago. Looks like he hasn't updated the app since 2013 anyway, so it looks like the app has run its course and is now dead. Do not purchase. Extremely not recommended..Version: 2.5.1

No bumblin’ on the rumblin’The coolest and most accurate iTool to see what’s shakin’. What with the frickin’ fracking all over our continent and general unrest under the surface of our planet’s crust, this app may even be useful in determining where you’d want to hang yer hat—without having yer hat hit the floor..Version: 2.5.1

Not quite accurateI've noticed that the direction "from me" is wrong. It will say that the EQ happened NW from me, but when you expand the map it is clearly SW from me. There are other example too numerous to mention where this has happened. Fix this glitch and I would give this app five stars..Version: 2.5.1

Love this appSimple, to the point and quick to update. As soon as you feel an earthquake you can heck the app and see where it is in relation to you. Thank you :-).Version: 2.5.1

Awesome app but needs updates. Can you update the app to support the larger iPhone screens at a minimum???.Version: 2.5.1

Love it!Have had this app for years. Got it for my first iPhone 3GS. It's still awesome!.Version: 2.5.1

Love the appI love this app, it does almost everything I want it to do, the only thing it's missing is a radius area where a quake would be felt. iOS doesn't seem to have any that do this. It's the only reason I didn't give this a 5 star rating..Version: 2.4.1

IssuesMy app kept crashing on me. Any thoughts??.Version: 2.5.1

Simply THE BEST!!!To all existing, as well as potential customers, I've had this app for a little over 5mos now, and it is simply THE BEST. It definitely "will change your life", and most of all, may save your life. The Chile Earthquake WAS scene in advanced through my phone due to a random "World" search which I like to do from time to time and all I could day was "WHOA"! At first I was asking "how accurate is that?", but watching the news not too long after "iFeltThat" had reported it, COMPLETELY confirmed the program's accuracy! Please don't second guess yourself and just get the program! $.99 cents may save your life, and our loved ones. BTW, can we request for "PUSH NOTIFICATIONS?". And lastly, to OTHERONE...I believe the reason why it was showing 9:45pmover here, and 6 something in Chilé was because of the huge difference in our "Time Zones". So please don't let the "ACCURACY" of this program scare you. It trully is accurate. Thanks for creating this program!!!!.Version: 0

Did not mean to purchase this appI just noticed I was charged for purchasing the app, "I Felt That". What I was attempting to do was to re-boot the app. I had purchased this app a long time ago (I don't recall if it was a free app or not). The original "I Felt That" app that I had purchased a while back had frozen up on me. I could not get it to do anything. I deleted it and reinstalled it. At no time did it ask me if I wanted to purchase it. Like I said, I've had this app for a long time. I just thought I was re-installing it, not buying it. I only want to say that I'm not one of those jerks who try and screw people out of their money, or try to get something for nothing. However, I do wish there had been a warning stating that I was about to buy the app and not just re-boot it. Because I do feel its the best earthquake app out there, I will go on and pay the .99 cents. Thank you..... Wayne Laner.Version: 2.2.5

Updating Review: Now a terrific app againThe app was updated today (02 Jul 2012) and it now syncs with data for the location "NorWest US." The author actually contacted me after posting my review with a possible fix. This tells me he really wants to produce a high quality app. Since he indicated it was being updated, I elected to wait. Now that it's fixed, I am very pleased with the app again. There was a small quake this morning on Whidbey Island, WA near me. There it is now in the stream as it should be. My thanks to Danny Goodman. My previous review: Apparently, at the end of last year, there was a change in the Seattle feed. The app now fails to report earthquake activity for the location "NorWest US." I contacted the author and communicated this and he admitted there was a problem. It has now been more than six months and the problem still has not been addressed. It was suggested that I turn on location services to use the "nearby" option. I do not and will not use location services. Frankly, allowing web sites to track my location creeps me out. It's not going to happen. To allow a paid app to malfunction this long without addressing the problem speaks very poorly about it. I would be surprised if there are not other locations with the same problem. This lack of performance speaks for itself..Version: 2.2.5

Genuinely usefulThis is one of the higher quality apps to appear in the store. I really appreciate the simple navigation, clean layout, organization of content, and customization. Micro quakes are common where I live, and I generally don't feel (or care) about quakes below 3.0. It is wonderfully convenient to see reports filtered to match my personal threshold of interest. The ability to email the event, to easily see a map of it, and to directly open the USGS event page are well thought out. The developer is very responsive and accepts user comments enthusiastically. I've been using the app for more than a week and it is stable. All in all a superior app..Version: 0

Fabulous App!This is a fabulous app, and I highly recommend it. Easy to use with up to date information. I use this app to teach Earth science - really helps to actually be able to show my students so many of the concepts I'm teaching. The maps are awesome. I've had this app since it came out and check it every day. Thanks, Danny, for such a useful app! I've used your links in the News section, too. For those who want push notifications, sign up with USGS, like I did, to get email notifications. Would love maps showing fault lines, if you're looking to add anything. Thanks, again, for designing such a great app!!!.Version: 2.2.4

Deserves several Gold Stars! Great app, use it every day, well written! This is one of those rare programs that works as advertised perfectly. No idiosyncracies, no errors, well thought out and does just what you want it too. Good job of writing the program by someone who obviously cares and knows what he is doing. I wrote software for many years and it's clear that this guy knows how to do things right. Use it every day and wouldn't like to be without it. Well worth the price even if it cost many times more. Here's hope that we see more from this author..Version: 0

Great Information, Great DesignThe developer did everything right in this app and is very responsive to user suggestions and concerns. Latest upgrade allowing user to customize zoom level of maps is very useful. Be aware that a large quake felt in your area may not appear in your local list if the epicenter was outside the local boundaries set by the USGS. In that event, go to the next wider region -- California-Nevada, for example, instead of Los Angeles or San Francisco. But overall, this app is a real winner..Version: 0

Better than the webI just felt a quake, sitting here at my desk. I went to the usgs web site and after floundering around for a few minutes trying to zoom in and click on the right little square, I ditched the computer and picked up the iPhone to check iFeltThat. This is a great example of an app. (like Facebook for example) where the iPhone version is just much more effective and pleasant to use than the web. I'd buy it at 5x the price..Version: 0

Ed D.Absolutely the FINEST Earthquake App. out there for the iPhone, bar none! Always getting you news flashes on how to understand what's going on with a new quake that is possibly confuseing at first glance. It's like they are camped-out at Caltech in their own "Situation Room". Zooming-in on the area, then moving the Oldest to Newest quakes shows the sequence of events before and after the main quake of interest. Very well done, organized and presentation of the facts from the USGS database. Bravo and Thanks from a concerned So Cal resident!.Version: 0

Clean, easy UI on useful appI can't imagine why one user would claim this app crashes "often". It has never crashed for me in almost daily use. Performance seems comparable to other store apps as well. I don't spend a lot of time thinking about quakes but I have friends who live in shaky places. This program let's me keep up with what's going on in their areas easily and quickly. The nav is very well designed and beautifully executed..Version: 0

Best earthquake activity app! This is clearly the best app if you're interested in monitoring recent earthquake activity in the US and around the globe. It's very customizable, yet elegant and simple. When you tap on an earthquake entry, you're automatically presented with a google map view of the earthquake location. It's beautiful. I can't recommend this great app highly enough. And by the way, the developer is very responsive to feedback and comments..Version: 0

This app rocks and rolls!I bought this thinking I would never use it. I live in southern California and since the big quake on Easter I have used this almost everyday. Very helpful to identify aftershocks. After the quake my family thought I was crazy when I said "I have an app for that." No one laughed when I was able to give them instant info on size and location. I have gotten my 99 cent's worth..Version: 0

Really CoolDo not buy this app if knowing about every earthquake scares the heck out of you. Otherwise this is a very cool app and has become one of my favorite news stops for the morning, afternoon, evening and late night. I'm reading and sending links to friends about quakes that never make the news. The big news breaking quakes are here first! If you like knowing about quakes, this is your app!.Version: 0

Brilliant app!Well designed, full of features, and extremely useful. Fast, clean, and intuitive interface. A steal at this price! Would love to see push notifications for hits near last geo-location. Also would like to see quake history, graphs, and statistical predicitions for regions..Version: 0

Great appThis is a fantastic app. It is well designed, and does what it says it will. Being able to check different sections of the country is a big plus, eliminating having to browse through long lists of unwanted info. It works fine on my iPhone 4. I highly recommend this app..Version: 2.3.0

Unbelievably great AppThis is one of those apps that can change your life. I watch it several times a day from Southern California and spotted Haiti and Chile before it hit the news. Watch the periodic swarm in Yellowstone Nat'l Park. I wish I could program an automatic alert when a "big one" hits, to signal my iPhone..Version: 0

A Must for SoCal!I bought this app immediately after yesterday's huge quake. The app instantly had the quake info plus all aftershocks up to the minute! Once the quake was updated from 6.9 to 7.2, this app had that info updated as well!.Version: 0

Loaded with info & featuresI have been consistently impressed with this app ever since I got it. Well worth the money spent! Perhaps instead of pins there could be dots of different size according to the magnitude? Or even just pinheads of different size?.Version: 0

Beyond worth itWoke up a few days ago to a 4.3 earthquake and wanted to see what is up etc. In that I took in mind "there is an app for that" amd searched for earthquake. Up popped ifeltthat and bam I had where the earthquake was from, saw how far away it was on the map & even tracked the aftershocks..Version: 0

The Best App Ever 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻I live and die for this app. I check it at least 2x day. I live on one of the main fault lines (Reno, NV) and my family lives in Los Angeles, CA. So we are always having some kind of action. This app is easy to read and easy to adjust settings. Thank you for bringing it back with improvements. Yay 😃😃😃.Version: 2.5.0

Where is California's 6.5?There was a 6.5 quake yesterday (1/9/10) offshore northern California that was all over the news but there is no mention of it in the app. What gives? Update: Saw ToriCa's review but I still can't find it. When I do a 'nearby' search it still shows the 1/9/10 quakes and several lesser Ferndale, CA quakes - just not the 6.5. Is this a bug or am I misusing the app?.Version: 0

Only app of it's kind :)Worked 1-on-1 with dev to address a chronological issue my device apparently had. Now that it's working, I'm having a lot of fun with the app. Would like to see push enabled alerts by region for next update. Nice work! .Version: 0

Slick appNow that I figured out how to get the map with multiple pins (rotate device 90 degrees), this app is just about perfect. I wish this feature were more obvious. I also wish the pins were color coded by magnitude. Excellent app!.Version: 0

Cool That I Can See Earthquake Info Within SecondsLiving in Northern California, earthquakes are relatively commonplace. I love that I can see the location and magnitude in the seconds it takes to get my iPhone out and IFeltThat started up. Intuitive interface..Version: 0

This is my favorite app!I have a ton of apps, but this app gets used daily. I love how well implemented map view is, and that I can take screen shots and send them to my friends or Facebook to support a conversation or ask a friend, "did you feel that?".Version: 2.3.0

Solid Five Star App!Perfect! Works exactly as described. Other developers take note. This is how it's done. Almost 6 months of use and I still think this is a great application. Works every day and provides awesome information!.Version: 0

Functions just as describedThis is a great little app that does everything it says it will do. I couldn't find anything not to like. I especailly like the zoom capability of the map display..Version: 0

Absolutely AmazingThis app is worth more than a dollar and is professionally designed. Keep up the awesome job with the updates and thank you for creating a very much needed app!!!!.Version: 0

Nice little programJust as I was about to write a review on "query" difficulties, the update came along and fixed all that! Danny Goodman has don't a terrific job with this app! Thanks! The Yellowstone stuff is great too!.Version: 0

Right on!After the 4.1 earthquake in SoCal, it not only reported the quake accurately, but all of those little (and not so little) aftershocks. Very impressive! I'm recommending this app to all my friends and family. Please keep up the good work!.Version: 2.2.4

Excellent appGreat app! You can choose to screen out the myriad small quakes if you like by setting minimum reported magnitude and zoom the map right down to your backyard..Version: 0

Great app! This is very simple to use, and laid out well. My only recommendation would be to split the world map differently so you can see the whole ring of fire and not have it split down the center. Other than that little bother, it's a very solid app for the price!.Version: 0

Great value---Well thought out!!!!Great color, graphics, features and maps with enough detail to keep you well informed. I would pay double for this app. A true steal..Version: 2.4.1

One of my main screen appsI live in Alaska and this app is great. Have used it for a couple years now and when I had an issue fast response from developer. Great App..Version: 2.5.0

Great App!Does every thing it says it does. No bugs detected. The night I downloaded it, it listed a nearby quake that was on the news the next morning. How cool is that?!.Version: 0

Awesome app!!I also live in Alaska and have to say this is the neatest app!! I love how fast it is and you can see where earthquakes are all over the world!! Definitely worth the 99 cents!!!!!!!!.Version: 0

Great app!!!!It is very accurate, there was a 8.8 earthquake in chile today, and this app showed not just the main shock but all of the aftershocks. If your a huge fanatic of earthquakes, this is the app for you..Version: 0

WowVery well done! Well worth the buck!.Version: 2.2.4
