Pixel Starships™ Positive Reviews

Your Starship in your PocketI've taken a long time before writing this review, to get a decent idea of the early to end game. I've been playing this game for almost 2 years now, and I love it. At it's core, this game is about upgrading your battleship, designing smart layouts (where to put weapons and shields), and writing AI programs for both your rooms and crew to perform during battle. The upgrades take a long time but honestly that gives me pride in my Titanic lvl 11 ship, as opposed to other games where everyone is running around at maximum lvl 2 weeks into the game. The strategy meta is diverse and fluid, and winning really is more about thoughtful layout and AI as opposed to piling cash into the game. I can confidently say that even at the highest competitive level (I'm a vice admiral in the 3rd ranked fleet worldwide), brains beat out money spent. That said, the learning curve for developing good ship strategies, ship room layouts, and units is pretty steep, so I highly recommend joining a fleet that can guide you as soon as possible. On top of all that, each ship truly feels unique, there is no "cookie cutter" best build, and the total number of variations in crew/AI/room layout you can have is pretty much infinite. On top of that, the concept of power creep in this game is so far very marginal, since it takes so long to reach a fully upgraded ship in the first place (a single room upgrade can take as long as weeks!). Again, I personally don't see this as a bad thing. Your ship really starts to feel personal and unique.Version: 0.926

Surprisingly a lot of funI never expect much from mobile games. I played a lot of Clash Of Clans and Mobile Warfare or whatever it’s called. Grindy games where you build out a settlement and send armies to fight PvP and PvE. I stopped both of those when I inexplicably couldn’t access my accounts after a phone upgrade years ago. My phone remained gameless for many years. Then… Instagram targeted an ad at me for this game and it was cool enough at first glance for me to download. I started playing and then I couldn’t stop. It’s pretty well thought out and I loved the space element. I don’t love the grind but I don’t hate it either. It’s got depth and a lot of different playstyles to choose from. Building a crew is a strategy in and of itself, the options are incredibly diverse and fun to learn. There is just a lot to unpack in this little game. Unlike other tower defense games your ability to bring the pain in PvP is not limited to your level. I have been taken to school by ships 3 lvls below me due to a stacked crew and maxed out, efficient rooms. If you got an ad for this and think it looks cool give it a try. It’s the only mobile game on my phone &ipad and I don’t see that charging any time soon..Version: 0.993.5

Great Game, butI love this game and enjoy playing it everyday, but I wish there was some way to have a faction war. Like a 3v3 or a 5v5. This may need new type of craft that could heal allies or act as a shield. I always thought the idea of a craft that your crew could board and infiltrate the enemy ship in mass numbers would be cool. Another idea would allow you to buy 2 small frigates that would fight with your ship, and have separate power and crew That would make this game completely amazing! I do wish the leveling up of your ship was easier. I seem to have gotten stuck at gold+, where the only way to level up would be to pay money or grind for 16 hours straight, and I don’t have the time for that. The nanopaint is awesome idea, but does not work at all and is a waste of Starbucks until it’s fixed, thank you for your first valiant attempt. I also really want a private faction for friends, but I don’t have enough friends to get a starbase, if possible lower the amount of people required for a starbase, that would make this game be a 6/5. This game is totally awesome. Keep up the great work! :).Version: 0.901

Great game, butThis is a really great game, and as a really big starbound fan, Im so glad a game like this exists! I do think there is a little flaw with the timing limit when attacking ships. I don’t think that it is long enough, and sometimes, its kinda unfair that if you destroy most of their ship, and they barley do any damage to yours, I feel like the player should get some sort of credit. Maybe if the time runs out, then whoever has the most rooms lost or lower HP, would loose. If it is the same, then it will then be a draw, and neither players gets rewarded. Other than that, this game is great Edit: This game also has a few bugs, whenever you are moving rooms in your ship, or if you buy a new one, the scrolling sensitivity is turned up wayyy to high. I drag the room halfway across the screen to place it, and the camera zooms 100mph all the way to the left to where the ship is out of sight, which I find very annoying. And is there a way to keep the camera still while attacking other ships instead of it tilting up and down slowly? Its very annoying when trying to target rooms when their on the top or the bottom. And as I said with the time limit, this NEEDS to be tweaked somehow. pls respond, thank you.Version: 0.990.5

AwesomeI personally really enjoy base defense games like this one and Clash of Clans, but I think that this game blows all others like it out of the water! In clash of clans, you can't really control where your troops go once you place them, or which specific troops your defenses will target, but in this game, it's all you. You can choose to target individual subsystems, weapons, and even, to an extent, crew members! You can set up an ai to defend your ship, add stickers to your ship, and change the color of your ship. There is a lot of personalization, which is nice, and just so many feature that make this game a worthwhile download! 10/10 Great game!!😀 (Edit: I do have one problem with the game. One of the things that you can do with your ship, is that you can spend a substantial amount of the games premium currency, and be able to change the color of your ship. I was excited about this, and I saved up to get that. However when I did this, I found that it basically averages the color. For example I tried to do red, and it gave me orange. That is frustrating, and I hope that that could be patched, if this is fixed, I will change my review back to five stars. Please take heed to this devs! Thanks!).Version: 0.85

Fun but needs a few tweaksFirst off let me just say that this game is really fun. I have been playing for months now and I haven’t grown out of it like I do to a lot of the games I get. But some things could be changed to make the game better. First off there needs to be way more things to buy using gas. I know to research you have to use gas but sometimes it doesn’t take up that much. At this point I am level six and I am playing as a Quantarian. Most room upgrades are like 90 k minerals and I don’t normally get as much minerals as I do gas even though all of my gas collectors and mineral miners are the same level. And let’s not forget about the mineral mining lasers that also add to my mineral collection. Another thing is that the special offers in the shop are kinda pay to win. I was destroyed by a level 5 ship because it had 2 multi- missile launchers. Overall the game is good and very fun. I recommend this game to everyone. The only things that need to be fixed is what I just explained. Great game..Version: 0.949.4

More lifelikeOverall this game is perfect. However I have a few requests, when I got a crew-member from missions, i had received a nurse... all that I saw though was a floating torso, nothing else. If anyone can fix this I will be pleased. Also, when I got this game it reminded me of Terraria CPU’s , and I look at the crew members and how they move when not fighting, they don’t leave their rooms, I feel like if you let the crew members to freely move around the ship and mace even have conversations with one another , it would enhance gameplay. But because whey won’t stay in the rooms assigned to them, you’ll have to create another menu to select which rooms the characters will start at when initiating a ship battle. This will make them much more appealing and entertaining to watch them move around a bit more, rather than them pace back and forth while being isolated from the crew. Either way, great game. Highly recommended. At least give it a shot, I’m sure you’ll love the game once you try it..Version: 0.948.4

So much better than you would think! At first Pixal Starships looks like a low budget game, but if all of the tower defense and base building games I have played, Pixalships is my favorite. The best feature of the game is how your base is also your ship, meaning it is the only tower attack games (where your base goes on the offensive) I have ever played. Because of this, Pixalships is extremely fun since you get to construct your base and then use it in combat. The game is clearly drawling inspiration from the Star Trek universe with the characters, but with a more Star Warsy war like universe. The three main faction are all pretty fun, though if I have one issue with the game, it is how the weapons and defense systems are the same for the different faction. I would love it if Qtarians got more health and had unique health regeneration rooms representing their ships being a self constructing techno mass and had fewer offensive weapon systems and more focus on economic rooms. Pirates could have DPS speed ships with get extra crew and boarding traits as well as gaining extra loot off captured enemy vessels but should not have as large or durable of ships and rely on speed and maybe cloaking devises to defeat superior Qtarian and Fed ships. Feds could get more weapon and shield systems and have the best ships for line combat, but less irregular warfare as the Pirates. All in all, Pixalships is really fun and lets you pretend you are a captain in a comical dark Star Treky universe..Version: 0.998.14

My 1st multi player online gameThis was my first time playing online, interacting with other players. I am an older gamer, fortunately with disposable income. I was cluelessly roped into Vice Admiral of a fleet, right away, of very nice people but my only way to guide them was to advance by pay to play, (because I had no clue what I was doing so had to rush process to learn and instruct others aka a “whale” but with the intent to instruct lol). Happy to contribute to game/programmers blah etc etc. More so, Still enjoyed the camaraderie, awesome folks, later my fleet merged with great group when our original Admiral flaked on us. New group quickly Surpassed my limited guidance thank goodness. Then...A year later, I flaked. Regret it still. Awesome people. But I play video games because I am nonsocial. In the end it was too much pressure for me to keep up with “strangers/friends” a world away on a daily to weekly basis. How sad is that? I couldn’t deal with all the random beautiful people caring about me. I still think wonder about them all the time. Ps none of this is required by fun game just my experience..Version: 0.940

Player since 2017It’s been fun for me. I enjoy little pixel games like this. Chill turn based combat for crew and ship battles are real time. AI chips/process lets the game do the work for you if you don’t want to manage the ship battles in real time. The story can be funny and really as long as I’m having fun, it’s worth it to me. You can earn starbux in a variety of ways or use micro transactions to progress or earn items but you can also just grind for most items. I just started the 3.99 monthly trial so we’ll see how that affects my experience. No negatives so far. Some minor bugs every now and then but I just like the game for some down time or when things get boring and can’t game on my ps5. Try it out, you might like it is my advice. The community has always been another positive in my book. Hope this helps someone make a choice and it turns out to be a game they really enjoy..Version: 0.999.41

Bug reportHello there! I’m writing this here because I can’t from the game itself (bug 1#,) to report a bug about the ground battles. To make a long explanation short, I found a glitch where you enable auto-battle in the middle of an attack one of your crew made after they are going back to their starting point, making said crew attack again and essentially kill the enemy. This means your entire team can completely sweep any ground battle without a single hit (bug 2#) Also, quick side note, why do some upgrades take MORE THAN A WEEK?! I get it, you need people to spend more time on your game for more money, but A WEEK?! That’s just absurd! If you want to even skip it, you have to spend like 1000 Starbux, which isn’t a lot for people with 100k, but for people like me in mid-end game, that’s just a dream for us! Please fix your game, and when you do, my rating will be 5 stars..Version: 0.999.8

Love This Game, Best Online Mobile Game I KnowI’ve been playing for over 3 years now and it is still my favorite mobile game. It’s easy to pick up and game progression is fast paced and non grindy. Adds are optional you can play forever without ever needing to see a single advertisement. You can watch adds to speed up upgrades by 15 minutes! The longest adds you can get are 30 seconds long. I have never seen such a generous time save from watching a single add. Plus the game has an active dev team who consistently release new holiday events and receive feedback from the community and implement it into their game. My favorite part of this game is the spaceship combat hard to explain here so you’ll have to check it out for yourself. The only thing I wish was better is the ground combat but I’m sure the game will continue to grow..Version: 0.998.7

Still buggyA great game that lets players design and program their starships. However, there are still many issues with Pixel Starships. One problem is how unpredictable teleporting crew members onto other ships can be. With some crew having overpowered abilities that can instantly kill many others, boarding enemy ships could instantly secure a victory or have very little effect. Often very random and based on chance, depending on ship layouts and other “random” factors. Another problem that upset me very much was disconnecting often with a pop-up telling me to reconnect. It happened once while I was collecting profit from selling on the market. I find a few hundred of my “starbucks” missing. That’s quite a chunk of change. Help a player out and give me back my resources or my rating for this game will never go above 3 stars. Thanks for reading, develepors. I really hope you improve this game further because I have been enjoying it until now..Version: 0.934

Presses all the right buttonsThis game gets it right in every way and I hope the developers can keep at it. I’m only in the early part of the game so far and it’s already got an adorable pixel aesthetic that I can’t get enough of, solid and easily understandable mechanics, and enough strategy involved with combat to give the player some options on how to approach any situation. The only issue I see so far is the melee combat is a little off: the menu options are too close together (wouldn’t worry if this was on pc or console but this matters on a touch screen). I’d like to see damage output have a range instead of a set amount every time; critical strikes and misses should be possible. Overall combat needs to have some variables thrown in to make it less monotonous. Other than that this is a solid game that deserves more attention..Version: 0.953.3

Difficulty “curve”I was having fun starting out, but the second I left my starting system, the enemies went from 1 gun light frigates with 2-3 crew, up to 4-6 gun maximum upgraded medium and heavy destroyers with 8 crew. That means that I went from fighting an enemy that takes down my shield in 2 volleys and I can go blow for blow with with ease, to an enemy that goes through all of my shield and half of my hull in one volley, and has a shield that recharged faster than I can damage it. I didn’t come here for an Idle game where I leave it for a few hours, come back, upgrade one thing, and do a quest once every two weeks, and I am most certainly not spending money on this, because of this is indicative of the future, money won’t be enough. Also, fix the UI, it takes almost a full minute to disable my engines so that I can enable my missile launcher, which is so long that against a PROPERLY SCALED enemy, they fire after I have disabled the enemy and target the first thing I destroyed, wasting the missile and my time..Version: 0.951.2

Very, Very Impressed. This game is very unique. Never have a played anything like it. There’s a lot of detail. For one, there is a lot of strategy involved, and many different ways to build your ship, program your ai with cmd commands. its not real time battles but if their AI is good enough, its gonna feel like one. There’s building times, but they feel rewarding. Visual level ups, noticable increase in what ever it is you upgraded. The Community is fun, kind of vulgar, watch out kiddies, But over very nice and helping. If you have a question, all chat will be there for you. You cant fit everything on your ship, you will have to sacrifice rooms from time to time depending on what you need to focus on (i.e battles or resource production) Lastly, one of my favorites. There is a sort of economy syestem. Virtually any item you find on your adventures, you can sell. And also buy. If you find a very valuable item, you can sell it for the resources in the game, and also PAYED currency. So there is no need to spend money on this game, you can do very well without any money spending. But maybe pop a $5 here or there just to help them out. They definitely earned it. Please let us remove an item from the market when ever we want. That would be great. Update the UI for the market, its gonna be so fun to just sit back and merch.Version: 0.52

Best mobile game I’ve ever playedI’ve been playing this game for 4 years. Absolutely love it. And I haven’t spent a penny on this game, completely free to play. This game used to be very pay to win, but ever since they added the merchant ships that roam the galaxy, free to play players actually have a chance to compete. The merchant ships sell random loot, some of which is highly valuable. And the neat thing is that you don’t need Star Bux to buy them. Star Bux is the in game currency that requires real money to get. But the merchant ships usually require void particles or stardust as payment, which players can get from just playing the game. So I think the game is a lot better now for F2P players. Which I think helps the player base grow. This game can be pretty complicated though. For instance, you have to set up AI in order to get your ship to do what you want it to. It’s really confusing, I’ve been playing this game for 4 years and still don’t know how to set up AI. But the main thing you got to do is build a fleet room so you can join a fleet. Fleet’s are this game’s version of clans. Make sure to join a fleet that has a discord link because the in game chat isn’t very good. Once you join a fleets discord, ask them how to set up AI. It might not make sense, but set up your AI the way they tell you to. The first thing you probably want to set up is to have your weapons focus fire the same room. And ask a lot of questions. There is always something new to learn in this game. But I love this game, you should play it. It takes a long time to progress in this game, so if you are a person that likes instant gratification , this game probably isn’t for you. P.S. Savy Soda doesn’t actually sell soda..Version: 0.995

Game OpinionI’ve been playing this game for about a year and a half now and I love it. My favorite parts is probably the fact that you don’t have to wait years to upgrade something like you do in clash of clans. Not to mention you have a steady supply of starbux, if you choose to watch ad blimps that is, (can be configured in game settings). I feel as though the combat system is unique and different and requires more thought than most other strategy games. I’ve read other reviews talking about hackers and glitches but to be honest I really haven’t seen any hackers and not many glitches. The only complaint I have is that most of the pixel starship accounts are inactive which makes it hard to compete in fleet battles in such. Maybe one day this game can be as popular as clash of clans ..Version: 0.984

Great game, reminds me of an MMO FTLThe game is well put together. Takes the best of the MMO style phone games, where players can interact with you by means of pvp and trade, while taking the best of games like Fallout’s Vault manager and base building games. The Pay to win is there, but only in skipping game time. If you want to actually play the game, there’s nothing stopping you from being completely F2P and enjoying it. You can pay to get to higher points on the leaderboards quicker, but so far in a few days of play time I haven’t encounter a P2W encounter that ruins the gameplay. It’s a great time killer and a good way to distract yourself for a few minutes at a time, even though you can sit there for hours and micromanage everything and get the best ship layouts and crew organization. Good for all types of players..Version: 0.953.1

DIY+RPG=Awesome! This game is awesome. I still only played an hour or so; yet like driving a car that long, you get the feel of how it runs and how good it is. Dude! You build your ship as you like (within the limits of the frame). You recruit, place, and train your crew. You have missions that include PvE and PvP. You have guilds, exploration, and development. It probably is F2P; however!, if you have a couple of bucks (yes, that low!), you can get great deals that will impact the entire game you play. You can be as serious or casual as you want. This is only the (my) beginning! DUDE! (LOL) If you’re a gamer, check this one out. Give it a good tryout. (Half an hour) You will at least have fun for that long. I’d guess you just may fall in love with this game like I did. If you see “Nibbin”, say “Hi!”. Have fun!!!.Version: 0.995

Great Unique GameIt’s a decent concept with decent execution. Ship l designing is fun, plus the concept of creating your own simple AI for other players to fight is amazing! The missions are an interesting way to do a sorta daily task type thing, but they can be a little boring at times. My biggest issue is that the time to build escalates very quickly. The price to build is fine the whole way through. I also wish that all the interesting stuff wasn’t only easily achievable through the special in game currency that every game has. It’s not incredibly difficult to get, but all the coolest stuff is way to expensive to ever hope to save for. The majority 99.9% of players won’t ever see any of it. I’m ranked something like 65,000 out of 5,500,000 players, and I certainly couldn’t ever hope to unlock the cool stuff. Anyways, most games are like that, so whatever. The rest of the game is great..Version: 0.937

Lower the construction timesBefore i start, i must say. I LOVE THIS GAME!! When i first downloaded it i was hooked instantly, from the art style , to the gameplay, this game is an absolute gem. But there is one issue. The wait time for constructing / upgrading is insane in my opinion, upgrading anything at this point will take upwards of 3-4 hours not to mention the wait time for a ship upgrade. I dont wanna wait multiple hours a day just so i can upgrade one of my mining lazers. I absolutely hate this type of mechanic in other games to the point where i will just give up a game completly right after seeing that there is a timer thats over an hour or two for something so simple. And im not asking for a decrease in cost for upgrades, i just want the wait time to decrease. If this were to be fixed then this game is getting a 5/5.Version: 0.995

Love this game but I have to askI agree with everyone saying this is a good game it really is all but there is one thing I have to is there a way to get snyies parts (if your confused it’s a quest you get at the start and you get an ai head and sorry if I spelled the real name wrong) I’m just asking if there’s a better way to get them besides the merchant guy and if there is already in the game can you tell me ok besides that this is a really good game Edit:so I found another problem I bought some star bucks but they didn’t show up I was supposed to have 532 star bucks by now but it still says I have 32 not only that but I tried to sell some stuff for minerals but when I collected them I was still left with the amount I had can you please fix this problem besides that I still love this game.Version: 0.88

FTL with optionsFor those familiar with the old FTL game it’s basically that but with more options. You get to choose what rooms go where and assign crew to rooms to boost productivity and repair. Less praying for RNGesus to give you the best weapons / crew / events to build up and instead it’s more progressive. Similar combat style ship to ship with the added final fantasy feel to crew combat with more than just pummel till u have to run away. Still early stages but looking forward to higher level ship hull and options to see how strategic it becomes. The 8bit graphics are fun for the old-timey feel but would have liked more current generation rendering. (Just a bit picky there and it’s just personal preference) overall highly pleased and expecting to be in trouble for the time I spend on it soon..Version: 0.87

Great Game. And support actually resolved problemsGreat Game! Its starts easy and simple then becomes more complex as you progress in the game. It get challenging to keep you interested. Great and supportive community from both alliances and piblic chat. It is not perfect and you may encounter bugs. But I give a compliment to the developers who are working hard to not only fixing the bugs but listening to the players input. I was not expecting such a quick response to my problem yesterday. This game is very addictive and would also suggest to try the free trial subscription membership. I love it soo much thay I decided to keep the subscription. I would really suggest to try the free trial to see it for yourself. Just rember to cancel it a day before if you do not want it. Give it a shot. You will not regret it :).Version: 0.53

Great Game, but I have some suggestionsI got this game when it first came out and I have put a lot of time into it. I really love the strategy aspect of the game, especially the complications of having to periodically sacrifice a room depending on your current focus. I have restarted many times due to frustration with my choices of how to spend my starbux and what upgrades to spend my resources on, and therefore I am not as good of a player as I could have been. I love the gBay feature, but I think that it would be greatly improved if you added the function of being able to change your listings, such as the prices or being able to remove the listing. I like the idea of star-bases, but it is really hard for an up and coming fleet to build one, and to get access to a star base with a starbux printer, you either have to have played for a long time and have a high level ship, or look like you have exceptional potential for becoming a good player. Otherwise the popular bias is against and alliance affiliations that do really well like NOD and ZAKI will not accept you into them. I am currently in NOD enlightenment, but the only way that I got in was because I had a friend on the inside that approved my application. Best regards, ~Secorin Secundis.Version: 0.85

Love it awesome amazing 10 stars ⭐️Everything is awesome except leveling time also it says that to get a level 6 ship I need 35k crystals but I can’t get more storage unless I upgrade it so what’s the answer to this I mean level 5 also the second version looks amazing especially since it’s the same but more realistic I assume also guys like pls make the time less I know you want to keep it fair but the time is so much 2 weeks for a single upgrade I mean come on this would be perfect if that wasn’t it or lower it where ship upgrades and compartments don’t take more than a day or 3 also this wouldn’t be a problem but there’s this bug that I can’t watch ads and I’m using a normal 11th generation iPad chip A16.Version: 0.999.28

More than meets the eyeSo Im not really a huge fan of strategy/turn based games (other than pokemon or less intricate final fantasy games). Im also not really a huge fan of pay to win games or mico-transactions (unless it’s just cosmetic). Nevertheless I decided to give the game a try anyways because it seemed pretty unique compared to other app games. I like this game a lot; it’s very well put together. I love the art style, and how intricate and deep the game really is. The pay to win/microtransaction aspect isn’t so bad as other games I’ve played, and it helps a tremendous deal that you’re not bombarded with ads. The PvE aspect caught me off guard, I expected the game to be just PvP. I hope that as time goes by they make the PvE more in depth. Maybe have more ship battles with npc’s that give good exp instead of solely relying on PvP and working out to lvl up your crew. One small thing though is that I kinda dont like that the factions are cosmetic only. In my opinion it doesn’t make sense that you can attack other players or even npc’s in the same faction as you. I think it would make the game more interesting if you could only attack players in different factions, or maybe give the factions unique traits other than looks. Perhaps even add more factions as time goes by.Version: 0.65

Fun w/ serious issuesThe game is fun but their connection issues between the user and the server are extremely frustrating and annoying to deal with. I can no longer count the number of times I had completed a PVP battle victoriously only to get a message INSTANTLY pop up when I win telling me the game couldn’t connect to the server and needed to reload. Of course, reloading also means resetting the progress that I just made. I’ve probably lost 5 to 10 hours of progress in this game from this one issue alone, and unfortunately every person I’ve spoken to that has played or currently plays this game has expressed the same frustration… so it’s not just that I have a potato for an internet modem/router..Version: 0.988.3

Lots of waitingThis game honestly hits the main problem with games now days, the over complicated nature of the game. Now days phone games are too complicated to actually get into or too simple to keep playing. You’d think the low graphics would mean less quality but I quite enjoy the graphics over usual game graphics today. Your phone also uses less battery playing this game as a result! However if there’s one thing I could change it would be either make the upgrade times quicker, or allow us to use the rooms being upgraded in battle. For example the lasers or shields are un-useable while they are being upgraded. Basically one or the other would be fine. However if you wanna go ahead and do both be my guest!.Version: 0.921

An amazing twist on the mobile mmorpg style. This game is an, again, amazing twist on the mobile mmorpg style: build a base, fort, etc. and defend it from other players. Simple. This puts a twist on that, letting the battles be interactive and require lots of strategy. You need to make quick decisions to keep your ship from... sinking? Anyways, the game doesn’t actively force or annoyingly push micro transactions into your face, rather (how it should be) give you a little boost, to get past grind-y parts. (this seems to begin around lvl 7/8 in Starships) this game can keep you busy if you can pull of successive victories, which if you pick your targets carefully, can happen. Overall, this game is fun and deserves a little bit of time. PS: Always defend your Reactor rooms. Trust me..Version: 0.79

Pleasantly surprisedI kept getting ads for this game so eventually I broke and just downloaded it and wow, I was pleasantly surprised. Feels like a mix of FTL and Star Trek Trexels. It’s awesome to customize a ship and it’s free, use the programming system to make it an autonomous vessel of war, and create fleets and pool your resources to make a starbase. It does have its flaws, mainly building time. If you thought clash of clans had longboard building times wait until you play this. It took 1 week to upgrade from my class 7 to my class 8 starship. Definitely the biggest flaws. Would love some more depth in the PVP such as 2v2 or 3v3 along with sometime of fleet war similar to clan wars in clash. Another interesting mechanic is the market where you can list items for sale which helps with earning $ more rapidly. Very good game if you can overlook its flaws. 8/10.Version: 0.934

If captain Phillips took place in spacePixel starship (good idea by the way) is a game that makes you want too re watch all of the guardians of the galaxy films and just completely obliterate star lord for putting his crew members in harm’s way. Between every victory You get a sneak peek of all the opposing crew members sinking with their ship, sound familiar. And if that wasn’t familiar enough then take a seek peek of your ship And try to scroll through a bunch of crew members you’ve collected like Pokémon and well if you decide you don’t like em you get to send them into the cold and heartless abyss called space. Sound familiar? if you took the time to read this you probably don’t like your job. #best game ever 👍.Version: 0.998.10

Needs some fixing.Pixel Starships is a great game, but it has some errors. People don’t have infinite email addresses. You can’t make another account with the same email, and that is a really bad feature. Some people may want to restart like me because they just downloaded it again, but can’t because they can’t restart without registering. Like, why? Is there a reason they can’t use the same email, or can’t begin a new story without one? And also, I used my brother’s and sister’s email to restart several times after messing up my story, and now I had to use my school email to register and restart. I thought I would be fine now, but seriously! You can’t even use the market without registering. Again, WHY? What is the purpose of doing this? Does this protect anything? Please fix this email thing so I can play the game..Version: 0.961.1

Great game but buggyPretty fun game. I first played this game when it came out but there wasn’t enough content in the early days so I stopped playing for a few years. I recently picked it up and I'm happy to see that its been getting regular updates since then. Im still catching up to where i was previously(i guess my data wasn't saved?) my biggest complaint is that this game is very buggy. While doing normal things like watching ads or reloading missiles this game gets an error crashes and restarts which is annoying. This phone also drains my battery and runs warm while playing which suggests it’s processing a-lot durning play. I hope the devs have the capacity to work on the performance and reliability because this is a fun casual game.Version: 0.997.2

Fun take on the genreIt’s basically clash of clans on a spaceship. They call it PVP but it’s not at all PVP. It’s Player versus an AI using another player’s resources, which is definitely not PVP. Anyway, this game is cute and fun, but as with all free-to-play/pay-to-win games the real question ends up being: just how obnoxious is the paywall and monetization? It’s somewhat obnoxious. You’ll hit the unit upgrade delay paywall around L3. Also, more and more these days, how obnoxious is the gamification? Am I spending more time tapping flashy useless chests than actually playing the game? No, this one manages to gamify in a fairly unobtrusive way, so far. Good job on that. Will I continue playing? Probably for a while. Eventually I suspect I’ll hit a hard paywall I’m unwilling to buy my way through..Version: 0.991.4

It’s good, but the difficulty spike is ridiculous.I was having fun playing this game at first. I love the concept and it doesn’t feel like another corporate amalgam of idle mechanics and template graphics. However, to me at least, the game is far too unfair and difficult at times. The first system of the story is fun and engaging, but then as soon as you go to the next system the battles become practically impossible. I’m not against difficult in games, but this game has one of the worst difficulty spikes I have ever seen. I don’t think it was a good idea to make all ships immediately target your reactor so you literally cannot do anything to fight back or escape. The RPG levels aren’t any better, either. The enemies are always a higher level then you, and one time I encountered a team of robots which got 6 moves their turn instead of the 3 turns you and every other team gets. Also, I don’t think you should make it so the defending teams force you to target them. It just makes the battles borderline impossible because you can’t kill them but you can’t do anything else. Why even fight them if you won’t let me make any decisions? In conclusion, I think the game is good but dear lord, the contrast between the first area and the second is just awful. If the point is for me to wait so I just upgrade every thing and then return and stomp the enemies, that’s just bad game design. The only thing holding me back from a 5-star is the ridiculous difficulty spike. Please make the game more fair and balanced. Make the enemies feel like actual people instead of terminators, and please have the difficulty more gradual instead of just going from “Hooray! You did well!” to “Screw you, you’re dead.”.Version: 0.983

StarshipTo put this plainly, this game is what I've been looking for. It's fun, not complicated and in-depth. I do think the makers of this game can work on some stuff. All in all it's good👍.Version: 0.50

Gostei muitoCaras baixei esse Jogo com uma ideia de que teria batalhas boas e as batalhas realmente São boas onde você é o capitão e tem sua nave e seus tripulantes me lembra muito Star Trek.Version: 0.51

GameLearning curve involved at first, but as it starts to fall into place you find it’s a very well done little game. Shouldn’t say ”little”. My phone gets pretty warm while playing it, so somethings processing! I recommend giving it a try..Version: 0.953.3

O7 hey there buddy might wanna read this!Great quarantine time killer! It’s addictive, good looking, amazing community, can be played competitively or casually, requires certain management skills, and rewards you for being active. Basic newb warning’s and advice, by Orélia (pss name) 1) Don’t make a fleet instead join one (preferably a top 100), to succeed at this you will need help and that is what fleets are for. 2) Don’t get the gray ship as it is too small. 3) You use mining drones by going on mining planets using the galaxy map, you can then come back to collect your findings. 4) Get discord. 5) Avoid hull rushing try to upgrade everything on your ship, crew, rooms, armour, lab, so that when you level up you are ready to handle the next bigger threats. (prevents you from rage quitting later on) 6) No one wins defence battles, don’t worry about that. 7) During pvp be a bully attack the weak, or the ones you are sure you can kill, “fight smart not strong” -some guy idk 8) Yes you need elevators, max em out or they will be slow you don’t want that! Also refrain from using 3 stories elevators instead put multiple to optimize crew movement. 9) a “min swap”or “gas swap” is a process used by players to store recourses beyond storage capacity exploiting the drop box mechanic. This is done by “exchanging” small mineral or gas boxes (originally worth 1k gas/min) at seemingly outlandish prices, such as 500k min/gas (higher amount would fill up said drop box) so you would posts a box for 500k min/gas, then another player would do the same, you buy his crate, and he would normally do the same (storing the resources of both parties in the drop box making them impossible to steal), the only downside to this is the elusive 20% market tax wich unfortunately means that 100k min\gas is lost every time this action is completed. If you want to complete this just look in English chat for “MIN SWAP 500k” (don’t worry you won’t miss it) 10) Global chat is dead, if ya wanna talk to someone go on the English server it’s pretty much active 24/7. 11) the fact that you have a high lvl ship is no bragging mater as it does not mean you are good in anyway, what makes you good is your ship’s overall quality (layout, crew, ai, strategy, modules, armour placement, etc) Fun fact I got beat up by a lvl 5 as a lvl 9. 12) Register your account to be able to access your ship on multiple devices without losing all your progress or if you wish to have alts or access to late shop. 13) Be patient. Here hope this helps a bit, if you need help with any off these simply ask In chat, I was not joking when I said this game had a great community! Aight good luck out there capt’n hope to see ya there! Orélia out!.Version: 0.982.1

Can’t put it downI absolutely love this game and the community in global chat. Sometimes when I’m bored I’ll just message people in global chat about in game things. I’ve been playing for about 3 and a half months and am loving it.Version: 0.951.2

Good game but some features are brokenIt’s been 3 or 4 years now I play the game and overly I like it . But i think ( rush commands spam) strategies or the fact the game is more pay to win broke the game. Especially when your ship is at the level 10 and more. On another side, I like the stories, event and the Galaxy map 👍.Version: 0.953

FantasticFantastic game overall, whether you want to play casually or competitivel. I am a big fan of strategy games and you can go crazy with strategy customization if you really want to, I love it. If that’s not for you, you can still certainly have fun playing on a less competitive level. I will say, the game definitely has a P2P component in the way of upgrade times and shop offers. Upgrade times are not as bad anymore - even at level 10 I have yet to see any upgrade that takes close to a week to complete. And while you can pour money into starbux so you can buy powerful crew and rooms, many top starfleets have members who can help you out if you want to buy something good. you don’t have to spend a dime of your own money to do well in this game. Also, some reviews mention tournament matchmaking is awful. This got changed recently and now matches you with opponents more at your level regardless of your progression, so it is much more accessible to mid-level players..Version: 0.999.36

Ignore bad reviewsIf you liked older building games such as clash of clans you’ll be addicted to this not only is there a full fledged in game story but you have multiplayer that is smooth and has great strategy to how you can hit your opponents, when you get to high levels you’ll have long wait times but that is very late game. The community is also extremely helpful and the in game currency that’s paid can be earned just as easily for free, on top of that every month there’s a new season after the tournaments you play with your fleet so every month we have a bunch of new content to battle and work towards. You won’t regret trying it out. by far one of the best mobile games I’ve played along with others like league of legends wild rift. Cat wait for the second pixel starships to come out of beta..Version: 0.999.17

Fun, but hard on the eyesFun, lots to develop, different strategies, counters, etc. u can even get game currency by ads or by playing daily. My issue is eye sensitivity. Galaxy map has a HUGE bright mass, and stars that enhance their shine. Plus fire from engines, glowing reactors, flashing beacons, some stickers super bright, etc. this is wearing my eyes down. Wish i could have an alternate view without all the glaring brightness. I may have to quit the game, its getting too tiring, sadly..Version: 0.999.17
