From grate great to bestMy learning curve this is flatter than I’d like it to be. I keep chatting most of the Apple people that Apple‘s finest hour is it graphic interactive audio but even a pure language page can utilize symbols and motion to provide guidance step from step a lot of Apple stuff is all written like the arcade Gutenberg Bible Long lines of thousands of pages of pros packed with Apple by remember the medium is the message so there’s a lot that doesn’t make sense to me about pages and other wordprocessors. There’s so much reading in order to do writing that’s not necessary. What’s necessary as a word processor that has motion and sound and Reactions now then that’s an Apple product that is worth putting out so fine-tune pages the style of just listening, lots of parts and assuming that people know to start with what they want, but it’s hidden what’s given as a bunch of parts and that’s not the way humans think we start with what we want our end goal we start at the end that we’d like to see, and then we learned backward to where we are each step connecting to what we wantin fact logistically the instructional style in Apple is the opposite of that so it comes down to a choice do you really mean to serve your customers then you’ve got to establish rapport with them which is the match they’re thinking Matt Manor that’s what I have to say. How do I send.Version: 14.4
Best word processor for a writerI usually don’t write reviews, but I do think that this app deserves a writer’s review. As a straight ipad and iphone user and blogger/author, I use this app every day, all day at work. I love the flexibility of the features. Being able to save articles to iCloud or import them to other apps is very useful. Also because I am the only only worker who uses Apple products in an office of Windows computers, being able to export the files I am working on into word docs is very helpful. I am very happy with the newest feature of being able to add a table of contents to my work since I am a book author too and have been unable to add this important feature to my work until the latest update to pages for iOS. I would highly recommend this app for anyone writing reports, books, blogs or anything else that requires basic word processing. Importing pictures into documents is very easy if the pictures are on your drive. One annoying issue I have is that Pages puts text into text boxes which keeps the table of contents generated from recognizing the headings. You have to cut out the text from the text box and then repast it into the document body in order for it to register in the table of contents generated in the front of the document. If this feature could be corrected so that text is not automatically put into text boxes I would be very happy and the workflow issue would be greatly improved. But I am still giving this app a 5 star rating because of the easy nature of the layout. I have used Microsoft Word for years before switching to an ipad and I am so much happier with Pages than I ever was with Word..Version: 13.1
Apple Pages has only 2 flawsPages is an EXCELLENT resource for all my documents and artwork layout with 2 GLARING flaws which I had thought Apple would have corrected AGES ago: First there is no option for typing in a circle/arch/or other text, word and letter shaping. This has been the only reason I continue to pay for and use MS Word and other applications for all these years. Secondly, the commands for manipulating and using tables is not consistent with the Numbers. In particular up,down, left, right navigation within the table as well as line breaks within cells as my 2 biggest pet peeves because they slow work flow so much when switching between applications. Other differences are also annoying but these are the two which trip my fingers up the most. The same is true for switching between the iPad version and laptop. I wish, at least among Apple devices and other Apple software, the commands were consistent. Other than these two - I ABSOLUTELY LOVE all the iWorks applications and have used them for everything from logo devices to book production to mural designs to meme creation to data driven research papers to YOU NAME IT! There is very little that can’t be done and hopefully developers will address these in the next update… right?!?!.Version: 14.4
Good startI have been using Pages for a long time now, and I think that it is overall a fantastic app. However, there are some glitches that are not helpful and using the app extraordinarily difficult to start. The auto correction is too extreme whenever I would type simple words such as because or table, it would put a red line under it, saying that I spelled it wrong. I would check all of the words that I got wrong using a dictionary, and I still got the same result. I had to fix this by turning off the auto correction completely, which wasn’t what I wanted to do because it’s some cases I do want the auto correct, but not in cases where it is that extreme. Secondly, the templates are super Jenkee. I cannot get a single one of them to work like they are supposed to. I can’t find a way to change the background on any of the templates, so I just had to start with a blank book. not to mention the pages have a weird gibberish title, Erna sempter and it’s not helpful because what I need is just a blank line with spacing and a chapter 1 where I have to delete so much that I don’t have any room to actually write a novel. starting with a blank document is the only thing that works well and even that Jenkee. If you could, please change these this would be a very good app and it would be just like word. I would appreciate it if these changes were made thank you very much..Version: 12.2.1
One of the best there isMy cousin and I love to write novels, and someday dream of becoming actual authors. This app has been an app that connected us and let us collaborate on books together. It has helped us share ideas, interest, and just grow closer. I would highly recommend this app. If you are having a writers block then this is the app for you. You have all sorts of fonts and options for text. You can insert a table of contents, chapters, titles, and even dedications. You can even sort your projects in folders without having to pay and can stay organized. Not only can you use this app for writing novels, but you can write reports and more. I would recommend this for those who struggle with motivation to write because it has temples you can use that will show you what your project would look like printed. For example, with books it has a layout that gives you the visual of what it would look like published as a real book. This app is one of the best in my opinion, I highly prefer it more than Google Docs because editing, writing, and printing is easier with pages for me personally..Version: 14.4
Really good overall, a couple of bugs, a couple wishes!I’m in high school and attempting to write a legit novel, which I’m really excited about. I love pages and I think it’s really helpful. I do wish, however, that there were some more editing options when it comes to layering photos for a cover? Like, for instance, if I wanted to add a photo for the cover of my book, the text isn’t able to lay on top of the photo? I would really love it if there was some form of software for this? Another suggestion is that maybe like how ChatGPT is able to be in other apps and you can use it without exiting (I’m not talking about split view, I’m talking about how chatgpt is able to be in apps like Messages as long as you allow it as kind of a plug-in) I would like the same for Word Hippo? I don’t know the dev’s standpoint on that app, but it would be nice to have that as an option so you could find better synonyms and adjectives? I just dont like switching between apps so much. And another thing, I have a bug that is really annoying. Sometimes the document will randomly scroll ALL THE WAY UP for absolutely no reason and then I’m forced to scroll all the way back down? Sorry for the rant, like i seriously apologize, but that’s my view. Love the app, love ALMOST everything about it, and thank you!!.Version: 14.4
The iPad’s best Word Processor?I’ve owned roughly 30 different word processing programs, since first getting a PC in 1984. Pages is strangely impressive on an iPad — more so than MS Word or either the online or Collabora versions of LibreOffice. Both are hobbled by being too incomplete or quirky unless running on either a Mac or Windows machine. Pages on the other hand feels very comfortable on iPad. This is true regardless of your physical setup; it’s comfortable for word processing when used either with its Magic Keyboard or a full-sized keyboard and mouse. In a pinch, it can also be used without a keyboard or mouse. I use it the first two ways. Not mentioned so far is Google Sheets. It also feels comfortable on an iPad — but has two problems; it isn’t secure from Google’s snooping and it has many fewer features than Pages. I’ve found that I can do about 90% of what I need to do with word processing with Pages. I have a Mac Mini to do the rest, although for that I have to sit at a real desk rather than on an easy chair or at the kitchen table. What pages needs the most is a macro language for writing or recording commands you might need frequently for particular documents. Its styles feature is very good, but not quite up to the standard of Word for Window or Mac. I recommend Pages..Version: 14.4
It’s great but it could use an ai to help with writers blockI love pages, it’s really a good place to put your ideas down in the moment. But there are times when the writing assistant feature isn’t enough. Like, I’ll have an idea on what I would like to write as a story, but I won’t have the right words to describe it in the story context without just flat out saying the idea. So, I think it would be better if the app at least had an option for using ai to help writers—whether they be just hobbyists like me, or professional novelists—by generating a story based on a written prompt and information from the internet in the case of fanfiction, to more accurately generate the character of the protagonist and secondary characters or villains described exactly as they are in a way that makes the story make sense so the writer can have a premade story that can be edited at will without having to deal with writers block. Also you should probably expand the ai writing assistant tool to understand more requests even when they are worded differently. These are my only complaints, I know that you are very busy people, so I don’t expect any immediate responses, but I do expect to at least be listened to. Otherwise, great work! You people are amazing!.Version: 15.2
Amazing App! Probably one of my most used apps, BUTThis app is amazing! It occasionally has some small glitches, but usually you can just kill the app or restart and it'll work perfectly again. However, I just got a new Ipad and when my mom transferred the data from my old one, she also updated it to IOS18.2. Completely different app. Not nearly as easy to use, and I'm not sure if it's just the IPad software or if Pages has a HUGE glitch, but more than HALF of my recent documents are gone. I mean, they're still on my old IPad, but they didn't transfer to the new one. I tried air dropping them but I couldn't do it all at once so I had to choose only my most needed documents and send ONE BY ONE. This may not be a problem for somebody using it for work or school that won't need most old documents, but as a child who uses it to write books, make photo albums, play school workbooks for my little brother, etc. it is very annoying to not have old documents. This is a great app (I think), but either the update is very annoying, Pages has a huge glitch in the software, or my IPad has a huge glitch in the software. Thankyou for reading this annoyingly long review. 🐶🦆🐑🐏🐐🦙🦮🐕🦺🦩🐾🎄🐚🍁🍌🍋🍋🟩🍍🍒.Version: 14.3
PagesLet’s start with I’m 78 and not particularly tech savvy. But I’ve done a lot of work on my IPAD with documents over the last 15+ years. I’ve wondered for years why it’s so hard to open some documents on Pages and why when I get an external document I often can’t save it to Pages. But the problem that bugs me most is the difficulty of gettin page numbers on a document. If you can save your work automatically is it too much to ask to have a default page number in system and a simple one or two click turn off or alteration of the style? I’ve given up numbering pages most times as a result; or printing and hand numbering the pages. Yesterday I wanted to export a document to a lawyer and thought I really needed page numbers. I spent an hour, first on the IPAD help page and then on my IPhone help page , first ringing the instructions and then attempting to follow them. In both cases the symbols in the instructions one needed to find and tap did not appear on my devices when I followed the instructions. I kept randomly looking for them in other places or trying to find a place to add pages just hitting various options on my screens. Nothing worked. To say this really irritated me would be a very polite understatement..Version: 14.0
ONE Problem and only ONE!!!I absolutely LOVE pages, numbers and keynote. I have Office on my MacBook but prefer these over Office hands down. I have purchased so many of the template apps as well, that now I think I could open a business creating documents for others. The problem is that the rest of the world does not use these Mac apps. Most of the time, I have to send my masterpieces that I spend hours on back to the office where everyone uses Office, so before I do, I have to send the document to myself so I can see what changes were made in Office and then make it look as close to what I originally created as possible. There should be better compatibility between the 2. Many have complained about the font shortage. That is definitely a true issue, but my biggest complaint is the compatibility. When I import docs from Office to iWork there are also issues (background color or font color changes in keynote, drop down menus change in numbers, etc.) Please, please, please do something to improve this. I love playing with the templates and creating beautiful items that everyone thinks I'm a great graphical genius, but if the rest of the office can't see them, using/buying these apps is pointless..Version: 3.2
Buggy, iPad Pro 11”I like the flexibility, the layout ability, and the templates. But, it is temperamental and buggy with simple word processing. I’m trying to use a book formatted document from a provided template. I pause here to say that it’s annoying to open a book template with an iPad in English mode, bearing an English title cover page, but with sample content totally in French...all of them. If I try to partially utilize the template’s formatting by altering the content slightly, the app erases it all and I have to totally retype it...negates the usefulness of the template. Tapping to place the cursor to modify text sporadically doesn’t work. When that happens, the only way to get the cursor placed correctly is to first tap into an entirely different place in the document and then place the cursor. The cursor placement method of holding the space bar and using it as a trackpad doesn’t work about 15% of the time with this app only. Text styles are annoyingly uneditable. Earth to app designers everywhere: While I appreciate your formatting suggestions, you need to recognize it is not your device, nor your document. Please do not impose your style on the rest of us by locking out alterations to a preformatted style. If, for instance, if I want sentence case instead of caps lock, that’s my call, not yours..Version: 5.2.1
Stop COMPLAINING!!!You guys are being SO ungrateful about this app with your complaints and I hate it!!! You better stop complaining before I tell you how good this app is and don’t you go crying up to me begging for forgiveness because I am not doing it and it’s for a good reason. Now, let me tell you WHY complaining is bad. 1: Complaining will change who you are. When you complain, you are getting in the habit of being ungrateful, picky, and you can start being a little rude to people at times. Yes. Even when you complain even just a little bit, your brain will think that it’s ok to complain, and that leads to other things down the road. You will think being mean and bossy to people is ok, and say for example you are mean to your boss and start complaining about him/her and the boss doesn’t like it and you get fired. Now you don’t have a job because all those times before you’ve been complaining about everything. 2: It doesn’t look good on you. Complaining doesn’t look good on you and when you complain about something to your friends even if it’s just once, they will think that’s what you do all day. And they will stop wanting to be friends with you. 3: What if it’s really good? What if you are complaining about stuff that’s really good? Say for example, someone gives you a box of treasure. And what did you say to them? “Why did you give me this price of junk? I wanted a dog!” Now that’s 3 of the rules combined. You are being mean to them, it doesn’t look good on you, and plus, it’s gold. It’s really nice. I think I’ve covered the topic about Complaining, so let’s talk about how good the app is. Pages is a wonderful app. There are many different templates you can choose from, the the number of fonts is numerous, and you don’t even need to add a page by yourself!!! It’s truly something to be grateful about, not complain about! So yea, that’s all I have to say..Version: 11.1
Has Apple abandoned Pages?I’ve been a loyal Apple fan since the Apple II days. I’ve almost exclusively used Apple software. Pages has always been a bit of a clunker but I stayed with it. But recently it felt to be more of a struggle than it was worth. Even the old AppleWorks version was better than the current version. So I think this is it Apple. I’m gonna to have to ditch Pages for ..... Microsoft Word or some other word processing s/w. In the same vein - Apple seems to have lost its sense of mission. Where is the killer instinct for really great products and services? Or are you content to tweak a little here and there and tell us we ought o excited about the new issues? Like your iPhone upgrades. There was just a little too much of a money grab that felt like we were being taken for granted. So nope. I ain’t gonna give you my money. BTW is Maps still a thing with Apple? Or are you guys gonna dump that sometimes soon? Hate to say it but I just turn to Google maps without even thinking. That’s how irrelevant Apple Maps is to me. And millions of others..Version: 4.3
Works ok could be betterI use this app for all my paperwork and it’s manageable but not as easy to work with as I would like. I really don’t use the advanced features because every time I try to the results are so unpredictable and out of my control I just end pushing undo until I get back to normal. But the main reason I gave this app three stars is because every time they updated it gets harder to use instead of easier to use they take functions that used to be in easy to find areas that you would expect to find them and put it in an area you would never think to look in, and sometimes even make the menu practically invisible. You can ‘share” files from this all you like, no one‘s going to be able to open them. If you want anyone to be able to open them, you’re going to have to “” export them , good luck finding that menu ! 🤣There is a teeny tiny little arrow next to the name of your file at the top left-hand corner you have to click that to get the option to ““ export the document in order to put it into a format that anyone is going to be able to open. You think that’s bad ? Try getting it to add rows to your spreadsheet !.Version: 13.1
Awesome App, but one thing bothers me!I love using this app! I’ve used it to construct my other 3 poem books, and I must say navigating between options to figure out how to do what was a task but when I figured it out it was dope. I’ve created 3 masterpieces that I won’t be putting out until next year due to Pages. It’s the only app I feel I can use to freely construct my books the way that I wish. I just have one small problem. I think you all could have a built-in book cover maker or even something we could draw or sketch a cover. I believe that y’all do and I just haven’t used it yet. I do have some ideas for a new book, and I plan on putting it together. I might try it out first but that is one thing it could use. The second is better don’t styles especially for book titles. A bit more diversity would be nice, and add a bit more of an eclectic feel to it. Other than that, I love this app! Thank you all so much for such a wonderful creation. I appreciate what all you’ve done with it thus far. It has been extremely motivating! ♥️✨.Version: 12.2.1
Annotations with Pencil is hardI love Pages in all other ways, except for: 1) when I use it to annotate documents in a freehand manner. This is my major use of iPad and pencil. I find that working with Microsoft Word is far easier. However, I really want to do it in Pages because Word isn’t very reliable about file safety. Meaning it’s easy to lose work with it. Getting Pages into annotation mode is too difficult. And when I put it in that mode, I can only use a highlighter. When I change from highlighter to pencil, the made switches back to drawing so that when tapping the pencil to the surface, it inserts a text box instead of drawing freehand on the document. 2) this version (2024) is really hard to work with. When I type and then want to backspace to fix a typo or add punctuation, the selector selects entire words and they get deleted. I find that this version destroys my document as I try to correct things. It’s horrible. I’m sorry but I’m being direct. I literally can’t believe that someone thought this was good functionality..Version: 14.0
Using Pages on the iPad 10th Gen is a dream come true for me.I have been using an iPad sense the first generation came out in 2010 and I loved it for all my writing. I gave up on the iPad because of the file management not being that good and I waited until the 4th generation to say good bye. Now that they fixed that issue and working with pages on the iPad 10th gen is so much better and smoother. It makes writing papers and blog posts so much easier and more fun. I have a paper that I have been using for my thoughts on a blog post or just to get my head on straight since I bought the iPad and I have around 30k words just typed out. The act of saving the document in real time is a life saver and the need to remember to save it is not as much as it was on the MacBook that I was working on. This app is the one app that I use on my laptop or iPad and I love the way that iCloud just works between the two with ease. I always have my document for my thoughts at my finger tips ready to run on my MacBook or my iPad and my iPhone all the time..Version: 14.2
Literally amazingI love the app, and I use it to write my books. I do have one idea, though. I think you could have a grammar assistant, similar to Grammarly, but free. When I write, sometimes I do get off track in my tenses (for example, I would write “I said” instead of “I say” but not notice it), and it would be sUpEr cool if Apple had a software IN Pages that helped you with that. For example, you could have different settings like “change tense” added to the “More” tab. What these settings would do is present a question asking what tense you’re writing in, you answer, then it reads your document and highlights all the errors in it, making suggestions for changes to make. You would also have the option to ignore or accept the change, since you could be in a flashback and need to be in the past tense, but the rest of your document is in present tense. I think that this would be a great addition to the app and make it all the more worth using. Thank you so much for reading this!!.Version: 10.3.5
Convenient to have use my phone, but dictation is miserableIt is nice to be able to write something when I’m stuck somewhere waiting. That is the main value of having pages on my phone. I like not wasting time. I like that I can send a piece to my computer or wherever to edit it. Unfortunately, the dictation Siri provides is crap. There are so many corrections I have to make. I gave up making them on my phone. It is way too hard. I just repeat the sentence over and over until it’s mostly correct and save all the mishmash to delete later I guess I really should not have given the app three stars, but I think the dictation problem is not the app. I especially hate the way Siri creates contractions that are incorrect. Often the contractions completely invalidate my meaning or express the opposite of what I want to say. Also, there are several small words that Siri always screws up. I should have left this review as Siri heard it. Then you would have seen exactly what I am talking about. If you talk to text on an iPhone, you probably already know how bad it is..Version: 13.1
Highly recommended! This is the best writing platform I’ve probably ever used, and I absolutely LOVE it! You can change the fonts, document size, and so much more. Wether you like to write for fun, or for work, I completely recommend this app. As an aspiring writer myself, this is super useful. There is only one issue I have with the app at all, and that’s only occasionally. Just a few times over the many years I’ve used this app, all my data on it has strangely been lost. Luckily, the last time this happened, the things were returned to normal in a few days. I hope that this issue can be solved if it hasn't been already, and I am super grateful that my documents came back that last time! Despite this one problem I’ve occurred, I still completely recommend this, and if you are worried then you can save copies of your writings to another platform. I don’t often give things five stars, but I say this app has more than deserved it. I wish anyone all the luck in the world with their writings!.Version: 14.4
Improvements to PagesI like most features, and Pages generally works well. I use it mostly on my iPad. Recently there has been a change to the “Find” function. The widget isn’t completely opaque, so it’s hard to read until I touch the widget. Also, in the past, repeating the keyboard shortcut (Command-F) would close the find function. That no longer works, forcing me to touch “Done” to close the find widget. The less Pages forces me to touch the screen, the better. I used to be able to toggle the Command key to cause the text cursor to disappear (I assume taking me out of edit mode). After that the up/down arrows can scroll in either direction. That no longer works. Now I must touch the screen to get out of input/edit mode. If I forget to do this, scroll the text, then hit enter, Pages zips back to the location of the text cursor and I have to manually scroll to find my place in the text. And it would be nice to have a keyboard shortcut to page forward and back instead of scrolling..Version: 13.0
Great App!I love this app, especially because it allows me to write freely. I love to make books, even though I’m not even ten yet! It’s great that there is no age requirements, even though many people think that you need to be an adult to write books. The way that you can add photos, charts, tables, ornaments, and different text styles is amazing and easy! I love how it isn’t hard to publish books on this amazing app, because you can just tap a button, and it’s on Apple Books! People can have very organized text using pages, and that’s really helpful. Before I used pages, I had a bit of a hard time trying to do everything on notes. I didn’t have the proper tools or templates to write books, so I was never able to. I often tried to read my work, but ended up accidentally touching my keyboard and typing unwanted text. Soon I started using pages and noticed that it is easier to do many things on this app then on notes. This app makes writing easy, whatever age you are!.Version: 11.2
IPad Pro document organization weirdI LOVE PAGES. I USE IT DAILY. I ENJOY SMART ANNOTATION BETA. YIPPIE! But... For some time now Pages on my iPad Pro does not organize my "recent" documents accurately according to date. Now Recents includes documents from 2018 and just 3 from 2019, only one of which I opened yesterday. Notice that I add to 3 (THREE) documents daily. I have figured out how to find these by going to Browse for one, but for the third document I have to go to Browse, select iCloud Drive, select Pages and select a particular folder and then am able to find the document. Immediately after I close Pages, these two searched-for documents retreat into Browse again, so if I want to see these two documents I repeat the little Browse searches identically. Previously Recents actually included all recently used documents. Why? This problem occurred with my iPhone X for a few days, but an upgrade to iOS 12.1.2 fixed it. I have been not-so-patiently waiting for the correction to occur on IPad Pro on which I have upgraded to iOS 12.1.1. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE FIX THIS. I BEG YOU!.Version: 4.3
I love pages!I honestly love pages because I come to pages and I just write down books. My ideas or anything that can go into words. I love writing down books so I have written 32 books on Pages. I am very proud of myself for that, but I love how pages can switch fonts so it doesn’t all have to be the same font which I am very fond of that. It’s just a place where I can come down and write. I don’t do anything complicated. I just press the font that I want and I can do it. I gave pages a five star because I really love the app and I love how they organized all the documents that you save. It’s just a wonderful app. If you don’t have pages, which is very hard to believe I would download it now because it’s one of my favorite apps to come down just jot down my ideas and create something you know. I was the app could be a little less frustrating about the font, though that’s my only complaint. Thank you so much pages for giving me an organized app! - PearlPastel 🐚.Version: 14.4
UPDATE: Seems fixed....OLD: 4.0 freezes iPad touch screen when adding imageUpdate 2: As promised, I upped my review, to 4 stars now, because I can now add photos to documents without my iPad freezing solid. Many thanks for this fix. I can't quite bring myself to give 5 stars yet because some tasks are still harder to accomplish than seems necessary, plus I would like to be able set my own Custom Default style (or alter the standard Default) using my iPad because pasted text often comes in at a huge point size and sometimes with extra spacing that I neither need nor want. Thanks for the photo/image fix, though. Update 1: you wanted an update, here it is....I’ll change my review when you fix the software. I (again today) created a brand new document, new photo, new screenshot, new image-save from a website. All images cause iPad touchscreen to freeze as soon as I try to add. I offered to send you the docs and photos I was using, but got no response. Fine. I’ll be here if you change your mind. And there will be no updates/changes to this review until the problem no longer exists. Original: Using iPad Pro, WiFi cellular, iOS 11.2.6 AND 11.3. Pages 4.0 freezes touch screen when you try to add an image to a document: can't choose image, can't return to the document body, can't use or dismiss keyboard, can't close document and return to main documents area. The ONLY thing you'll be able to do is hit Home, quit Pages, start over.....but with same results whether using old document, new document, old/new/different photo or screenshot. I liked Pages until recent 4.0 release, though it still seemed to lack important word-processing features and ease-of-use, but now can't get work done. If you need images in documents, don't waste your time with this until they fix it. Problem persists even after iOS update, recovery in recover mode, hard reboot, de- and re-install of Pages. Started with 4.0..Version: 4.1
This is great for writingI love pages and have literally created 100’s of documents. I write stories and this has been the only app that has worked. I would like to be able to change where the word count starts in my document as I put my background, and character info in the same file, but I’ve bee able to make it work. I was able to create a template and use it but it’s sort of annoying that you can’t get to it from a icloud. Overall the ease of writing is great, it’s not a distracting format, it would be nice to have the ability to look at a specific page or notes on a side menu while I’m writing, but I’m able to navigate to my notes page with the table of contents. Putting a description on the file would be awesome too. I’ve tried most of the writing software out there, scrivener, living writer, and a ton of others but I find this to be the easiest to keep everything in one place. I can open it on anything and not lose my work, look at past versions etc, share it, and read it on my kindle app. It doesn’t work that well with the accessibility function of voice over as it will stop after about three pages and then you have to scroll through to find your place and keep reading but most people don’t probably use that function. I find listening to my story helps me find errors. I’ve been able to add pictures, drawings, and use my apple pencil to write in Pages. This is a powerful app that work well..Version: 13.0
YES YES YESSSSSSS!!!!If you are an aspiring author, get this app. If you need a poster to find your lost pet, get this app. If you moved and need to tell people your address get this app. Looking for a job? Planning a party? Selling something? Get. This. App. It has everything you need for all these purposes and more. I am a tween, but I like to write books. So one day, I was looking through the App Store for an app to write books on my iPad. I didn’t know which one would be right for me. And that’s when I realized… I had one all along. Pages! So you may not even need to download the app! You will love this, trust me. Look for it on your phone or iPad, and if you don’t have it, get it! Do not wait! Get it! Well, I’m off to write a story on Pages. 100/5 stars from me ⭐️ P.S. if you add illustrations to your books I draw my illustrations on procreate but procreate costs 20 bucks but I also use Gacha Life too. So, enjoy! I know you will! I’m not even going to tell you lol (lots of luck) because you won’t need it!.Version: 14.1
Truly one of my more organized writing appsMy only gripes with this one include this: whenever the app is opened, the home page has that half-and-half page thing going on, and I have to swipe up to disperse of the Choose Template/Start Writing page to see my works full-page, and swiping up every time I open the app gets old. It's unnecessary and should be something I can turn off. Also, I shouldn't have to constantly reorder my folders. Also x2, a Pages folder gets automatically downloaded on my iPhone and I don't have the option to delete it. That is incredibly obnoxious since I have the option to create my own folders to be on my iPhone anyway. Finally, there's no Dark Mode, which I don't love, but I don't hate as much as the things listed above. Otherwise, I like the many options I have for page sizing, fonts and their color appearance (I love the gradients), and I love the fact I can add seemingly as many folders inside of as many folders as I want. Good app, but not great. Hope to see improvements..Version: 15.1.1
AMAZINGMe and my friend has been writing a movie for two years and just a few months ago did I discover pages. We had been using Apple Notes, but it was becoming harder and harder to use especially as the movie progressed. One of my friends who has an iPhone 12 told me it took up way too much storage and it slowed the whole app down. I knew I had to do something or else the script wouldn’t last and the movie would have to be forgotten. I started looking and almost had my mind sent on using google docs or even Microsoft Word until I was scrolling three my phone and found an app wig a pen. I tapped on it, and it turned out that this app had everything I was looking for. The collaboration form was THE BEST. On other apps I’ve used when people can work together it always goes slow and people end up deleting each others work. So I guess what I’m trying to say is that pages is an amazing app and I’m glad I stumbled across it. I love all the cool features!.Version: 13.0
Great!I enjoy writing stories, and Pages is the place to do it! It has all the tools you need for not just stories, but resumes, flyers, informational articles, anything! There are different templates you can choose from, and you can write on your computer AND phone. I would like to suggest that you add more of a “fictional story” type template so that you can view it on the computer as if it were a book you were reading online! There are templates for novel writing, but, maybe I don’t know how to access it, but I wish you could view the story and maybe flip through the pages as if it were a book. And make it so if I wanna look back at chapters, I could just tap on it, without all that scrolling! (I initially used Google Docs, which had that ability, but I found Pages easier to use in general) But overall, amazing app, just wish there were a couple of changes. I know this app will be excellent for anyone who wants to write ANYTHING..Version: 13.1
Fantastic ProgramSo I am not sure why pages gets so many bad reviews. This is a fantastic word processor program. It might not have all the “full desktop” features as Microsoft Office on PC has but the truth of the matter is few people need or would ever use all of the features Microsoft office has. Pages has worked near flawlessly. It is easy to find the features you need and navigate through the app. Very stable and looks good. This is all I use anymore for any kind of writing or longer notes that I have to write. I used to own a surface pro and used PC my whole life before coming to iPad and I can tell you I don’t miss Microsoft office at all. The only thing I wish pages had (and this would include Pages on Mac) is the ability to have both footnotes and endnotes on the same document. Being forced to select one or the other is annoying however in practical terms, writing papers in college only usually requires one or the other..Version: 13.0
Truly RemarkableI've used this for years now. Been through some minor ups and downs as it's been developed, but I have to say that it's better than it's ever been. (Once I finally figured out I needed to turn the new "Screen View" off for every new document!) I actually went back to using Pages on a Mac for some time, but it's so fast and easy to touch the screen to select things... I couldn't stop touching the Mac. So it's a nice, large iPad Pro with the Apple keyboard case for my daily use now. And no regrets. Highly intuitive, this is capable of professional quality output with minimal learning curve and effort. I haven't even used templates much as my layouts are all so different. I regularly use multiple fonts, multiple colors or text and backgrounds, import photos, put references and notes under them, etc. I recommend you jump right in and design something crazy to try it. You're going to really like it..Version: 14.4
Can’t create new documents on the iPhone app versionI don’t use this app very often and in fact mainly use it to make memes every now and then, ergo, I can’t said much about how great the app is. HOWEVER, I will mention this one complaint that has stopped me from being able to use the app on my iPhone. The app never stops loading a new document when I select one, after pressing the plus sign. After deleting and reinstalling the Pages app several times, and even getting to a place where I had Wi-fi, it still didn’t allow me to create anything new. Also, it wouldn’t let me open a document up I originally made; I thought I could just open up an old and delete everything and rename it later, but the app couldn’t even open something that was old. Eventually I gave up and just downloaded the app to my iPad, and it worked fine. Although, I don’t take my iPad everywhere, of course, and would appreciate it if you fix this problem with the iPhone version. I have no idea myself on what’s going on, maybe the loading is taking forever. Hopefully you guys can figure it out. Thanks..Version: 3.3.1
😊I like your content and how organized this app is it’s just there’s some small minor errors in my opinion, which are just a small suggestion, which is when you capitalize a made up word in most writing apps, it acts as a title, which doesn’t add the red things underneath the word, but this app doesn’t have that which makes me a little bit sad because I want to be able to make a made up word like a name, without it, being underlined with red, which can get kind of annoying. And a error is whenever you try to change the size of a word or sentence maybe even the rest of the story or what you’re writing about it glitches and doesn’t let you change the size and less you do it like 1000 times so that’s just like a little error that I’m hoping you guys can fix it. I’m not asking for much here. I’m saying you guys app is a good app. I’m just hoping you guys can make some miners movements, you don’t have to that I just suggest it thank you for listening to my comment. Thank you. 🥲.Version: 13.0
5 Star App... Until NowI bought a 12.9 inch iPad Pro (current gen) with the Magic Keyboard to write my novel on Pages. I have used Pages on my MacBook Pro for years. The iOS version of the app has gradually gotten to be almost as robust as the MacOS version, to the point that I purchased this iPad and Keyboard to be my exclusive form of writing while traveling. However, the most recent update (Version 11.0) has made this app unusable. The input lag from both the Magic Keyboard, and the onscreen keyboard is so incredibly frustrating, that I felt compelled to write a review — as I can no longer write my book. It takes anywhere from a second to three seconds for the screen to catch up to the keystrokes I pressed. I have quit and restarted the app, the iPad, and am running the most recent versions of all software. Very disappointed. Will revert to 5-stars / write a glowing review of the app once this bug is fixed..Version: 11.0
Pretty good…but still—Glitches!Pages is really good in general! I use it for story-writing and often essays, and it’s pretty useful. I like the format and the fonts and how you can choose your status for editing or viewing. BUT there sometimes are bugs and glitches in Pages. A few weeks ago, I was writing in my room. I clicked out of Pages to eat lunch, but when I came back, I couldn’t find my document anywhere. It just disappeared. Another time, my and my friend were writing a story on her iPad. When it was time to go, she shared it to my Pages account, so I would have the story too, and we could edit together. But when I went home and opened my Pages, I couldn’t find the shared document. And it kept loading and syncing with iCloud, but time passed and nothing happened. We tried several more times to share the story with me, but it didn’t work. In the end, we copy and pasted the story onto google docs and shared the story with me there—successfully..Version: 14.1
No more grammar options?I updated this app a couple days ago, and now it seems to be missing any suggestions for fixing misspelled words. For instance while re-working an old doc from years ago, I discovered a typo where it said “likeable” with an E and had a red line. So I clicked on it, and all the other options show up like Replace and Define, but no alternative spellings. I also backed up against it and still no options for spellings. This was happening on another doc/different word last night too. Very frustrating to get no spelling options now when trying to write. I fixed “likable” on my own, but there are other times when the grammar spellcheck comes in handy and I’m so disappointed that every time I update this app, I get more issues. To the developers: please, do not ask for more info or a video of the problem in operation; I’ve described it clearly and there’s no reason for you to ask. Never mind that once you developers get that information you disappear and are never heard from again..Version: 12.2
I like Pages a lotI like it just because you have emojis and it’s not like a computer because computers don’t really have emojis so I like it so nicely painted whoever paint whoever likes painted it it’s nice. I like to texture well I like it that it has drawing mode and it has different pages when you don’t have room for more writing and you can have fancy letters like when you tap on them really hard like these. Æ that’s a capital. æ that’s a lowercase I ran a five star because I really like it once again well I like it but you don’t have to add layers of painting. You can just paint over it and I like how you can expand a page if you don’t want to color everything so you can just shrink the page 📃 and that’s all that I wanna mention I mean it’s like a lot but not really and also I like that you can add new pages like you could have report cards and birthday cards. I really like making invites so thank you.🙏.Version: 14.2
Better than any other writing software I’ve used (and it’s FREE)This might be my first time writing a 5 star review. Where was this all my life? Well, it apparently right in front of me. I always just thought it was like Google Docs but watered down, but nope. In fact, it has MORE features than it. As a creative writer, it has everything I need and more. I’ve waisted hundreds of dollars on Word, Scrivener, you name it. And this is free. I mean, I bought an iPad, and that cost money, but Pages came with it. And I just… didn’t know. I don’t need any additional software for it to do what I need either (like Word with Adobe products) and it runs so smoothly, too. Not to mention the clean organization. I’m seeing some reviews saying things like it’s missing things like page numbers, but it’s not, they’re right there. You just need to look (like how I just needed to look at Pages…) I mean, this probably is missing some features from other writing programs, but it just seems to be the really niche things. The way I found out this had so many features was from a Reddit comment, talking about what they used to write ergodic literature. They said it was Pages. I thought it was ridiculous, but only because I was ignorant. Yeah, needless to say, I haven’t experienced any issues (yet?) and this has saved my life. You can legitimately create a quality novel in Pages..Version: 14.2
Great app.I've been using this app for a long time now on all my mobile devices and my desktops. I like how well it works. Surprising number of negative reviews claiming problems I've never encountered. The interface is different from word and takes a little adjustment. Setting up default choices is a simple as saving documents with the settings you want and opening them and then save as. Very simple approach. Like how it allows you to sort, group and organize your docs on mobile devices. I use this app and Microsoft word both and vastly prefer Pages. This app also creates folders in the same way you create them on the iPhone or iPad, not sure why people are saying it doesn't do that. Perhaps a look at some tutorials or doing a bit of reading would help. I've also open ended many Word docs and saved to that format as well. Really love this app. Only 1 feature it really needs is the ability to have tabbed pages within a document or the ability to open at least 2 docs at a time..Version: 14.4
AMAZINGI love using this app to write mini stories. There is one thing that I think you should add; on the ‘page number’ file, I think you should add: Roman Numerals, (ex. I, II III) and just numbers (ex. One, Two, Three) If you can’t it fine, but it would be a pretty cool feature..Version: 4.0
Please Fix Pages!!!What I Appreciate: Thank you for adding the ability to use the Apple Pencil. That is great and I am very happy. I generally appreciate most everything about Pages. It is my preferred word processor. I use it each week to publish newsletters, and various other communications pieces. What Needs Fixing When using the “Tab Flyer” template, I cannot add photos, from my Photos without the App crashing or freezing up my iPad Pro. Also, when I tap to add a photo, often times (not always), I can’t even scroll through my Photos roll. What Needs to Be Added Something that I wish Pages for IOS had was the ability to generate a Table of Contents, automatically, based on the various heading styles to choose from. Something like you can do in the desktop version of Microsoft Word-only better. Please keep adding features to the IOS version of Pages. Now that the iPad Pro is out and powerful, some of us are switching to these devices as our primary computing device (I do not use my laptop much anymore). Having full features on this app would be very helpful..Version: 4.0
❤️I love this app a lot! I use it for when I have to write an essay or something and I can't get to a computer but there are a few things that is not an option that I think it needs to make it completely capable for writing essays. - A button for indentation - The option of having a specific header for the first page - It would be nice if you could be able to put specific documents into albums so that it is more organized Other than those few things I think this is the best app for writing and is the most similar to Microsoft Word than any other I have tried!.Version: 3.2
It is a Wonderful Little AppYou know, I suffered with Word on iOS, while completely ignoring this delightful little friend that came free gratis. Pages for iOS has Word beat in every aspect of its presentation, but one. It has far more features, is more flexible and produces a most excellent output. I love it! What it does not have is a particularly friendly interface. This is a problem that Apple will have to address in all iOS apps - a total lack of GUI standards re. menu elements. It is distressing because ever since it blew away DoS, it has been the GUI that has been the strength of the Mac..Version: 5.0.1
If onlyIf only this app did not have the annotations and drawing feature, which comes on constantly—there is no controlling it—and which CANNOT BE TURNED OFF! It ruins the word-processing experience..Version: 5.2.1
Love PagesI use it for all my online note keeping..Version: 13.0
Can't rename filesGreat app, but I can't rename any of my files. I looked in the help menu, but it said I can't rename when synced to iCloud, which I'd like to be changed. But when I didn't sync to iCloud, I still couldn't rename my files. Please fix this.Version: 3.2
Nice, but...I've just got my MacBook Pro and started using Pages on it and I'm loving it. Just finished creating my new template for creating contracts for customers, looks and works much better than my "other" documents program on my PC. I've already sent out a couple using the new template I created, very exciting! I have pages on my iPad Pro so I thought it would be great to sync my new templates as I'm out at sites with my tablet and not my computer. Uh-oh, Pages doesn't sync with DropBox?!? 😳😢😭 Say it isn't so. I use DropBox for my business as it's amazingly universal with all the people I coordinate with and it's easy to use. Pages on my laptop gets 5 stars but on my iPad, only 3. This is a major issue, please add DropBox support in your future update. Thank you.Version: 3.2
10/10 updateThis new “reading view” thing is the most useful feature added in a long time. Many thanks 👌😎.Version: 10.1

My work projectThis has been the greatest thing for helping me get organized with my work project, making a spreadsheet diagram platform using AI to help me work with this program very well. It designed everything that I needed. And then I’ve been able to execute my job at a much higher level than I ever thought possible. I just don’t know how to make the sheets so that they are a template so I. One every day instead of having to go back and erase everything. Other than that problem and it’s probably just my own clerical error. This app is awesome..Version: 15.2

Good. (past-tense)It was good, but now that they added paid version, they REALLY push it. It’s like it would be better if every single time I logged on it wasn’t in front of everything I needed. Also AI tools are tacky. Stop pushing it in our faces. Will switch to LibreOffice once I can. Stop alienating your own dedicated users. Would have given past versions of pages 5 stars. This is a more stylish but tacky version. I am not paying 100+ dollars to get AI c**p. Cease and desist. Please. For apple..Version: 15.2
