I had fond memories playing this game years ago! Glad to see it still works now, although I’ve been frequently running into a bug that causes the entire screen to black out and occasionally crash.

Can’t believe this game still works. Truly a gem and one of iPhone’s first great physics puzzlers. So glad it’s being preserved.

Thank you debts! This is one of the original classic iOS games and was abandonware for a while. Now it's back!!

Very challenging and tons of content.

This is much better than I initially thought it was. I thought the game was over when I cleared the 3 sections, but no, all it does is unlock 3 different sections in the survival mode which is timed. Almost as if the game itself was nothing more than the training grounds for the survival mode. Have not beaten any of the survival sections which is really challenging. Great game, great ongoing challenge with the survival mode. Two thumbs up. A rather innovative creative setup that makes you think. Evolves beyond shooting down the monsters, end of game mentality. Definitely get most bang for your buck with this game. Should win an award of some kind. Highly recommended. Edit -- I went back and played the game in Hard mode and noted that it crashed on me multiple times in this mode. No crashes in Easy or Medium mode. But no biggie, just click on the game icon and it starts again in seconds and you just start from where you left off (the uncleared sections). No biggie, wouldn't take points away for this because start up is a mere few seconds away, but thought I'd mention it.

While I'm only about 20 puzzles into the full set of 90, I'm having a great time so far. It's a little on the easy side (I have it cranked up to "hard" though I honestly am not sure what the difference is), but I imagine it's going to start getting more complicated very soon. The game itself is finely-crafted, pretty to look at, has some amusing dialog, and is a very clever gameplay idea. My only complaint so far is that I want a finer way of controlling my position. This could be done with a zoom-in option, a multi-touch that would allow me to fire a tonic without lifting my finger (picking up my finger often slightly moves the torch from where I'm holding it), or a small d-pad that would allow fine-tuning a position. Great game so far, highly recommended, and an absolute steal at the $0.99 launch price.

I havn't written a review in a while because the games are starting to repeat themselves and innovation is slowing...it seems. But this odd little game has totally opened up a new concept never before seen. I applaud you clickgamer for your simple polished innovative and challenging game. I would say its worth more, but the 90 levels went by too fast for me and left me hungry for more. Yes there is survival mode but im a slow methodical thinker and really like the ability to sit and think through the levels. To be honest i truly dislike the enemies that throw objects. Theyre easy to dodge, so its just a chore to bounce around every time i throw a tonic. It didnt add to the experience, it seriously detracted from how much i enjoyed it before the throwing began. I dont know what else to say about them...get rid of them. They turned your BRILLIANT puzzler into a fun yet annoying experience. I also thought the boss battles were poorly created. It just felt awkward bouncing around fighting "as the pinnacle of a PUZZLING adventure. The boss battles should have been insanely difficult levels (like the rest of the PUZZLES) jammed packed with enemies with a truly brilliant strategy needed to defeat them...instead im running around dodging, fighting?? Id easily trade the boss battles for another regular level. Sometimes less is more. Ideas... all bat levels. mobs that dont throw things,ever. something to do with the money-that was pointless. All that said, I truly love the game and hope you do very well with your sales. Joshua Fox

First off, the game is great. Puzzles get much more complicated than they look. I particularly want to point out the excellent design, as an iOS program. When you open the app, it goes directly back to where you exited... No publisher intro screens, no main menu, no player select/login screen. EXACTLY as you left it. Plus, this game was accidentally deleted after upgrading the firmware (a fault of iTunes), so re-downloaded it on the iPhone's App Store expecting to have to start over from the beginning. I was incredibly surprised to find that when I booted it up for the first time, I was, again, exactly where I'd left off... Didn't even have to log back into Crystal. I've never seen that with any other app. This game needs to be the standard for how to program for iOS4.

After watching the trailer for the game I wasn't quite sure what to expect or how the game played, but once I started playing I was hooked. I have not played a puzzler like this ever and it is a blast. Everything is done right here- graphics, gameplay, humorous banter, challenge. It all adds up to a terrific game. While the story mode may be a little short, it has a survival mode where you race against the clock to wipe out the bad guys, so you have to think and act fast to keep playing. This is different from the story where you are timed, but you can take as long as you need to figure out how to eliminate all the monsters (as long as you don't run out of tonics). If you like logic and spacial puzzles, snap this one up!

I saw the reviews complaining about lack of colorblind support (something that hits close to home as I have most forms of it) But bought the game anyway due to positive reviews and figured I'd muddle through and if it got bad, I'd write the developer (as opposed to marking the game down because of it) Well, it got bad alright so I wrote requesting he take pity on the color challenged. He wrote back quickly and gave me a picture to see if I could identify the colors he was going to use. I responded and now a week later or so... The fix for colorblindness IS HERE! Now *that's* customer service. *Updated* Even after the game was updated for color blind support, the developer contacted me to ask if the current color blind fix was working for me. I responded that I was able to use it as-is but if he could add some extra customization, it would be easier for me to play. Well here he comes out with another version with *improved* color blind support. Great stuff! I continue to be impressed with his responsiveness and will definitely be keeping an eye out for further apps from this developer. Now about the game, I'd have to say this is one of the most original puzzle games I've seen in a long time. It starts off simple enough then it ramps up in challenge. The game has a cool art style and has a great sense of humor. Love the little victory gestures these guys give each other whenever you clear a level. Had me laugh a few times (I find myself sometimes pointing my finger in a mock gun gesture when they do it) Great stuff. And now, I can proceed further along in this game with you fortunate non-color blind folks because this guy listens to suggestions. Thanks Lucas, you da man!

The music is the first thing I think of when I think about this game--it's just that amazing! It's second only to the gameplay, which starts out easy enough and ramps up the difficulty perfectly. The graphic style is perfect for this game, blending 19th century dialogue with 21st century hand gestures. The controls are a breeze and the timed 'survival' levels once you've finished the main story game will help fulfill your addictive need for more. I can't recommend this game enough for anyone looking for a quality puzzle game on the iPhone/iPod Touch!

After several years and hundreds of [iOS] games, I am here to write my first review... Helsing's Fire is a superb game. Simple, fun, but at times, challenging... It's got the exact "shtick" of arcade games from 30 years ago. It's not going to wow you with dazzling 3D graphics, but at the same time, it doesn't rely on them to be great... it's got GAMEPLAY, which is all too often lost in today's games. The only downside would be the length of the game. It took me about an hour to beat, but for $.99 I shouldn't complain; a dollar for an hour of entertainment is a steal. BUY IT.

Simply put, this game is awesome! It has the trifecta of unique gameplay, a clean visual style, and hilarious dialog. Also, the music sounds like old Castlevania games and fits really well. The first few levels start out slowly, but the difficulty ramps up fast. I wish there was a way to go back and play through previously completed levels, but the Survival mode offers a good change of pace. It would also be cool if there was a way to save separate user profiles. Overall, this game is incredibly fun and is highly recommended. Great job with this one!

First, let me say that I love this game and have already beat it once. I shouted out loud when I saw that this update has options to help colorblind guys like me. I had a very hard time with the red/green in the game, causing a lot of do-overs. Most of us just try to adapt, but it means a lot for a dev to accommodate my minor handicap. That said, the colorblind slider is not helping me as much as I had hoped. As you slide further down, you get too many blues which can be equally hard. On my opinion, green is the color that causes the biggest difficulty. If the green became a yellow or something more pale, that might help more. So maybe the solution is exactly what someone previously suggested: allow users to customize the colors individually. Then each person can make changes that work best for their vision. Even if the color option stays as is, I will continue to praise this game. It is very original, and it's beautifully done. Kudos to the devs & designers.

The new colorblind sider is a good addition but I have a suggestion. It seems that it's a hue adjustment slider. It would be great to be able to change individual colors. Maybe it would be good to have a complete color set to choose from. There could be the original and then a second with red, blue, yellow and white. The current slider may help the red/green troubled folks but those who have a blue/purple issue may still have a bit of trouble. Still, the game is very fun, looks great and is very much worth the purchase. Keep up the great work!

Game apps are legion these days, but the absolute gems can be counted on one hand. Helsing's Fire ranks high even within that select set. The game's original yet basically simple mechanics are easy to learn but allow for increasingly tricky challenges. It's a timeless recipe for addictive fun that makes Helsing's Fire into the game equivalent of a bag of potato chips: you can't play just one! Stylish graphics and a quirky narrative round out one of the most charming packages available in the app store. Can you tell I love this one or what?

I love this game. For a dollar man you just can't go wrong. Love the art style. Music and mild humor. Gameplay is just super addicting and there is plenty of it... But I'm afraid it's not enough. Hopefully they'll update cause I've found some bugs. It would lagg massively at times when I get a push note from aim. Then sometimes completely crash. I would like to see a build your own puzzle mode maybe and that would be nice. Please add more levels in the future:) otherwise the game is absolutely fantastic I recommended it to a lot f my friends

I was pulled in by the music and adorable banter between Helsing and Raffton, and once I started playing, I couldn't stop! New monsters get introduced every couple levels to keep you on your toes, and some of the later puzzle get pretty challenging. The light mechanic on its own is cool enough, but to have it wrapped in such a themed, polished package is incredible. Now I just want some more levels... Oh wait, they're dynamically generated so there's literally infinity of them. Epic. One of the coolest games on the iPhone right now.

I can honestly say that I've never played a puzzle game with this particular mechanic before, and the fact that the puzzles are randomly created every time you start a new game gives this game longevity that most other games don't have. The great graphics, dry sense of humor (fist bump!), and gradual learning curve are just added bonuses. Way better than the gimmicky "ooh-look-at-me-you-tilt-to-roll-the-ball" gameplay you see in a lot of iPhone games, it'll keep your interest for ages.

Great game; clean level design, good use of character sketches for dialogue (drawn in a Hellboy-like style), and spooky music appropriate for a puzzle game, all contribute to the mood and setting. I love the writing and wit, and the puzzles certainly get more difficult as you go. I suppose my only wish for improvement is that you release an occasional update, be it additional levels and/or new stories, with or without newer, more challenging puzzles. Overall, this is a unique game experience, and a pleasure to play and enjoy!

I love this game! It is a great puzzle game that u can just pick up and play. I especially like the absurd mode, hard was a little easy. The only thing that I would suggest is a play mode where it makes a random level based on a difficulty you choose, bc it's annoying to have to rush past the easy levels to get to the hard ones if you've already finished the storyline. But it is still a great game and I would recommend buying it.

Slaying Dracula's evil minions has never been more addicting. I love the dialogue which often wavers between a light Devil-May-Care banter, to truly witty. A fun spoof of Dracula themed games that never takes itself too seriously, but the easy to learn yet steadily more challenging gameplay will keep you coming back for more. Definitely worth the .99. So, grab the nearest torch and get ready to ignore friends and family as you set out to shed some light on the dark blight.

This is a game worthy of praise! Brilliant concept, clean simple graphics, appealing Victorian-England setting, and a clever plot carrying it all along. And all of this from, it seems, a 2-person independent studio??? Great job both of you! This game shows how the iPhone/iPad allows talented game developers into a previously corporate-dominated million-dollar-production industry. Keep up the great work Lucas and Keiko! Future updates might rocket this game past ClickGamer's reigning champion, Angry Birds (which is also a stellar production).

I didn't really know what to expect when I bought this app. I had been looking for a new puzzle game and this one had good reviews and was only a dollar so I got it. This game is highly original and loads of fun. Admitedly I found it fairly easy, never loosing enough torches to be kicked to the world overview, or being stumped on a level. Can't wait for this to be updated with more. Everything about this game is insanely polished. I love it.

LOVE: the design, concept, gameplay, and music. Such a wonderful idea - fun, addictive, and very entertaining. Best game I've downloaded in a looooong time. BOTHERED BY: Lots of crashes. I'm on an iPhone 4, and in my hour of gameplay last night the app crashed 4 times - and one of the crashes required an iPhone re-set. Hoping that the next version is more stable. Also, while I love the game's music, friends of mine would prefer to listen to their own music, and wish they had the option.

I never write reviews for apps, but this was so entertaining and addictive that I have to praise the developers. They did a wonderful job creating this masterpiece and deserve great recognition. The gameplay is perfect. The puzzles are fun, though, not too difficult. The graphics are well done. All in all a truly complete game. If you don't have it already, you should buy it now. You won't regret it. I haven't. :)

Fantastic puzzler game - very, very highly recommended! Son and I just won the game today and are eagerly awaiting new content. The art, music and humor are excellent. Puzzles are challenging but never frustrating. I'd put this one right up there with Angry Birds as two of the most accessible, enjoyable games in the App Store. Easy to pick up & play for a minute and easy to get lost in for an hour.

I love this game! The artwork, the dialogue, the artistic style... It's all top notch. Definitely one of the best puzzlers I've played, not just on the iPhone but ever. Runs flawlessly on my iPhone 4, multitasks perfectly, just completely awesome. The difficulty is just easy enough to keep you going but just difficult enough to be a challenge. I can't believe it's only 99¢, it's a bargain!

It's actually been a very long time since I last played it. but when I did play it I would not let my ipod touch down. all I did was play, play, play this game. it's something VERY NEW and very REFRESHING. I admit, I was absorbed. I am now back to play it again. There are a lot of extra levels that weren't added when I was playing the game, I have a feeling I will be having fun. Any iPhone 5 support?

Only just passed the first boss battle but going to throw it 5 stars based largely on the truly original puzzle mechanic and 1st class style. Lots of nice little touches in the design and attention to details. Seems a bit easy at first but I can see how the difficulty will be ramping up. Hope to see more greatness from this design team in the future!

The puzzles in this game are great - just the right length for me to play when I have 2 spare moments in a line or waiting for a train or something. But I'm most pleased with how every detail has been sweated in this app. The art is great and the banter between characters is funny and everything feels part of the same whole. Love it!

The "light" game mechanic is very creative, and the interface is perfect for the iPhone. Even better, this game shows lots of polish, with entertaining dialog and nice touches like the high fives. This is an ideal iPhone game: easy to pick up and play for 2 minutes while waiting somewhere, but entertaining enough to keep me busy for hours on a recent flight.

Little aprehensive lately when it comes to getting games that cost anything but this one was more than worth the mere $1. Great game to fill the empty five minutes of your day. Definitely not a great game if you are going to sit for an hour and play but honestly if you have that much time on your hands then please go home and play xbox.

This is the most intelligent, funny, well-designed, beautiful, witty and intriguing game I have ever played on my phone. I love it to death and have so much respect for whoever invented, designed, and created it. It's a gigantic shame it hasn't been updated in so long that it no longer works on the current version of iOS. I want to play this game and I would pay $10, easy, to do so.

I'm sure there's a lot of people like me who are very weary when it comes to paying for apps. And I'm telling you this one is worth all 99 pennies. I don't play many games on my phone but this one is up there with angry birds(same developer) and doodle jump. If you ever spend three dollars on the app store, make it those three apps!

I don't think I've ever given a 5 star review but I absolutely love this game. I was drawn in by the striking presentation and utterly charmed by the witty dialog and unique puzzle gameplay. It's a great game to boot up while waiting in line and it has plenty of replay value. I'll be following these devs and their future endeavors, most definitely.

The gameplay itself is enough to warrant a high score for this game, but on top of that the characters and dry humor make it even better. I would give it 5 stars but it's just a little bit too short. The survival modes are great and the variety of levels and enemies is good, but for me it ended and lost my interest just a bit too quickly.

This app was on of the best puzzlers I have purchased. It got more difficult as it went on and the storyline was rich. However the only problem is towards the end it seems like you are doing the levels just for the sake of it not cause you want to. Nonetheless, this is a small problem and this app is a great buy.

This game is one of the better ones in the App Store. The puzzle gameplay is very original, and though it may seem easy at first, it does ramp up in difficulty, making it more addictive. The app is also very polished - looks great, fitting music, and actually has a (somewhat) decent storyline with humor to go with it.

Tell me where you can get more out of a dollar. NO WHERE. Either go buy a disgusting double cheese-barf-burger at McDonald's or buy this game. The choice is yours. Love this game and for the most part it's excellent. However I have had a number of times where the app crashes in the middle of a game, losing my progress, especially in survival mode. This can easily be fixed, so I can't wait for that then this game will be perfect!

Definitely a recommended buy!! My only complaint is that it's far too short. Managed to beat it on the train in one days commute (about 2 hours total) the same day I bought it. Hoping for an update with more awesome levels, tonics and monsters to hunt!

This game is the cream, the one percent, the zeitgeist and... and... *wheeze*. Seriously this game is brilliant; from it's catchy music to the witty interludes to the imaginative gameplay, it deserves all the popularity and exposure it can get. I'm one of those people who rarely review games because I am just not motivated to do so. After playing Helsing's Fire however, I felt the need to let people know that this is a hidden gem. The gameplay is captivating. The music is awesome, and it has that "just one more level" addiction factor. Get this.

Lots of fun and it's eat to jump in and play for as long as have, then quickly get out - without feeling like you've lost your game. It's one of the few games that waits for you to play it and can be played at times when you are likely to get distracted without worry.

Seems to work without problems on my iPhone 13. I love to replay this game for a bit of nostalgia and would LOVE a remake/update.

Helsing's Fire is a fantastic puzzle game. The graphics are very good and the puzzles are a nice challenge. A perfect iPhone or iPod touch game, especially if you're looking for a game you can play in short bursts. On top of all that, updates have added more puzzles and more content. A must-buy for fans of fun puzzle games.

I never write reviews but i picked this game up and i have to say i loved it! Even after you beat it (which takes a long time) there is challenge levels for you to sink your teeth in and new challenge levels are added all the time.

This is one of the best apps I've ever downloaded. The content is solid- well crafted and interesting. The storylines have some comedy aspects (which made me chuckle.) And the game itself is completely addicting and... Just plain fun! You can play this game for hours and still have new senarios each level. It's amazing.

I purchased this after reading reviews and wasn't disappointed. The graphics are well polished, the difficulties are well varied (I've been playing on absurd since the start). My lady now steals my phone to play this game to compete with me. The puzzles are dynamic: you move your torch to probe angles and some enemies force you to dodge their projectiles keeping you alert while thinking. Once again, lovely art and colours. Replay value: There are also constantly new puzzles being updated to keep you thinking on the side.

The puzzling is pretty fun, but the humour in the game and the art style keep it separated from the usual puzzles in Itunes. Can't recommend this game enough. Adjust the difficulty if you find it too hard.

Very creative and artistic. Fell in love when booted up the first level. Runs very smoothly on my iPhone 3G which is even better because most games are slow on the older devices. Get this one it's worth more than a dollar so pick it up it's fun and it will keep you busy for a while.

This game has already had plenty of awesome updates, but they keep adding even more!! Whoever made this game is awesome, I was already really impressed by the previous updates and the new one makes it even better! Would love to see other games do the same.

Love the gameplay, graphics, and funny little handshakes after each level. The one thing I don't get is what to do with money? The coins are kind of useless.. Anyway 5 stars!!!

I think this game is a must play. Some may find it 'too easy' and boast about how 'fast' they are at it, but the bottom line is it's creative, original, and well done. And that's the whole purpose. Well done guys! Well worth the 99 cents :)

Probably one of the best games you can get for 1$!! And quite challenging! Hope there are more levels in future updates! And people who think this isn't challenging enough, go to options and change difficulty to absurd. I'm very glad I decided to try this game! GET IT!!

Stop complaining there are only 90 levels. You can change the difficulties from easy, normal to hard. That gives you 90x3=270 complete different levels. On top of that, you have survival mode!!!

Very good time killer. Although, the final level (top left) in the second level set is impossible on medium, anyone else have this problem as well?

I could not put down this game until I finished it. It's got great graphics, mechanics, and wit. I would almost consider this my favourite game if only it was a little longer In the campaign.

This game only gets 4 out of 5 stars because I got to the end and still wanted more... And there was none! The gameplay is refreshing, the graphics are fun, the character dialog made me chuckle and it was fun and challenging but never frustrating. I'd love to see a 'round 2', even for another 99c as a second app or in-app purchase. My total play time was just over an hour and it was totally worth it. Going to play the survival mode now!

This is a pretty good app for bus rides and what not

In a market full of TDs and match-3s, this game was a breath of fresh air. Though it does take a little while for the difficulty to ramp up, the product is polished; everything from the graphics to the presentation and the gameplay is top-notch.

Well, the first level - the deserted village - was excellent. I really anticipated giving this game 4 or 5 stars! Then I arrived at the spooky forest, or whatever the second level is called. And all of a sudden, green monsters were added to the red and blue. Please, please, please: modify the colors in this game so that color blind individuals like myself can enjoy it. As soon as the green got added, "playing" this otherwise excellent game became an exercise in frustration. It's unplayable for me as it is. Shame. It's a simple fix: change the green to yellow. Or white. Or beige. Or black. Or pink. Or light orange.

I also bought this game based on the ratings. Not bad for a buck that much is for sure but I wouldn't give it five stars. It can be challenging but the game loses my attention after very little time.... Put it this way do I regret buying this app no but had I played it first before buying I would def pass I have a short attention span when it comes to average games and this game or app I should say is just that Average... Pass your not missing anything!

The game is good, not GREAT. It's fun, not UBER ENTERTAINING. Don't be deceived by the "first impression reviewers", there are MUCH better games on the store. I give this one a 6/10.

Promising but stole my money

I know it hasn't seen an update in forever, but for the love of god just make it compatible for iOS 8 :( absolutely unplayable after the update which is a shame, this WAS one of my favourites, that is when I could still play it...

Got stuck on lvl 2-5 tried what seemed to be every possible solution. With no way to skip the lvl I was ready to quit the game had I not read a review suggesting to temporarily change the difficulty to easy. Which leads to my second issue. Where is the lvl list? I get confused which lvl is which and if I need help how am I supposed to identify the level? It's not clear to me how to replay past lvls. And lastly although the game mechanic is unique and different it is essential trial by error. Lacks skill.

Just move your finger around till you find the right spot. Can't really deduce the correct spot with logic so it's basically trial and error.
