Altimeter+ Customer Service

This is easily the best altimeter app but I’m not sure it is being supported. It would be nice to see an updated version (no updates in 3+ years) Would like to be able to use it in iOS live activity so I can see it when my iPhone locks. I love the app when I can read it (which is most of the time) when it is bright outside it is difficult to read. The dark background is the only option. that allows you to change from black to white.

Been using my Watch for altitude information when flying my ultralight aircraft and found other GPS altitude apps to be completely inaccurate and not precise at altitude. Using the barometric function with Altimeter+ has been incredibly accurate. I used it for a flight this morning and 15 hours later at a known elevation, I'm basically right on with the baro altimeter.

Needs to self calibrate using gps automatically. The watch app asks me to enter the correct elevation every 24 hours. That's why I opened the app! I want to know the elevation not tell some app what the elevation is! As it stands I have to use another app to tell this app what it's elevation is. :( also PLEASE support inches of mercury for US customers. Consider changing the calibration to known mmHg/inches since we can gain this data locally. Thanks for the great app!

I can’t believe how often I use this. You too will find yourself standing on a cliff above the ocean wondering how high you are! This gives you the answer immediately. It just sits there and waits because the App knows you’ll be back soon!

This app gives you multiple choices as far as data sources Can easily be calibrated via known altitude It makes me sad that people give Apps bad reviews when they don’t understand how science works

Bought it as an Apple Watch 4 complication for the Infograph face. Unfortunately it is not available as a complication for this face. Please fix. It’s available as a complication for older faces though. The app itself looks good on the phone and on the watch.

I have checked it against posted altitudes many times and it’s always right on the mark, so I have great confidence when I measure a very random location. I consider it very reliable.

My darling wife got this app for me. We live 17' above sea level so it came in handy during last months trip to the Rockies. It was accurate when we drove up Mt. Evans. But in the Tetons, reception was intermittent -- also on the airline. Still, an interesting tool to have.

This has been my go to altimeter app for years. I recently got a new Apple Watch and have found my only complaint. There is no way to add this app as a complication on the watch face. Adding this functionality would bring this app back to perfect for me.

I have used this program with maps teaching my kids how to not get lost and just to verify the height of a road or on a ski mountain. Thrilled to have it. Thank you.

Great app. Only one suggestion. Make the data available to the Apple Watch complications. It would have been great to see my altitude on the main display of my watch instead of having to open the app every time.

Pressure altitude is always more reliable than GPS. This app is simple and easy to look at. It’s also very accurate. Only thing I wish it had was a GPS speedometer and it would be a great paraglider app!

I appraise real estate in some very rural and out of the way places in the west where high altitudes are important to know. This app is easy to use but needs to be calibrated occasionally when pressure changes with weather changes (sometimes that’s a challenge).

I use this app every day. I’m a Ham Radio Operator. I use the app to find my elevation when operating in my car to find the best location. The higher the better. I find this app to be very accurate.

Have used this app for ears now, mostly when hiking in the mountains, and many times in places where I don’t even get service and it has been very reliable.

It’s frustrating that every time my watch’s face turns off the altimeter reading resets and takes a while for it to give you the actual altitude!!

Barometer calibration not working on Apple Watch Ultra 2 WatchOS 11.1. Need this function to offset altitude from my current ground altitude. Help!! App has all the potential, the best one by far, just need this fixed. Thank you.

I have been using this altimeter for a wide variety of activities, and whenever comparing with known altitude it has been right on.

It will register a change in altitude of 3 feet. Hold it at waist level, one reading. Raise it over your head, read out increases 3 feet. I find that astonishing.

Great app for what it is. Used it for years, never a problem. Highly recommend!

It’s simple and works well. The only improvement that would be nice is if it could be set using pressure altitude.

Is there away to set the app up to show feet above ground level which would help when I am flying PPG? Same for the watch?

I’d like to have the immediate option to go straight to the GPS for calibration the calibration on the I-watch needs to go straight to GPS for calibration // sidenote the iwatch calibration is very slow

A family member has a heart/lung issue that affects the ability to survive elevation above 3,000’ over night while sleeping. I use this for determining camping elevations. 👍

Living and driving around in the rockies between 5-14k ft. Whip this out every now and then for various uses. No qualms here.

WatchOS keeps reporting this app will no longer work with Watch OS5. I hope the developer continues to give it the love it deserves. A great app.

Simple and easy to use. Works everywhere on the planet, just needs GPS signal. Quick and very precise latitude and longitude readouts.

Just downloaded - great so far! Question - it shows a complication available in the watch app however I cannot find it in the list when customizing a face. Can a complication for this app be shown? Edit - complications can be added to older watch faces. Would be great if the app was updated to have the complications work with the new faces. Edit 2 - currently the calibrate barometer function only works with the GPS. You can not manually enter a number - the keyboard does not appear.

This app has never failed me and works outside of network coverage areas. Extremely accurate too.

I have reviewed many Altimeter Apps and purchased at least 3. This is definitely the most accurate. I recommend this App. I gave it only 4 stars because I feel the interface could still use a little improvement...

And I know because I had the rare opportunity to put this app head to head against it's yellow faced competitor in the mountains. Doesn't seem to burn data in either mode (tested in airplane mode) and registered quickly (the 2 modes varied by ~2m as indicated) The graphics are on theme and totally cool and complimentary. The added home screen info (map access and Lat. & Long.) were welcome and not intrusive. The only niggle would be to use some more vertical blank space by elongating the numbers and soften the shadows for increased legibility. We were on the move and could only briefly glance at the screen. The competitor (whose name shall not be mentioned) was more legible EVEN though it had a smaller type size. This is only an issue at high speeds with turbulent bump - but it would also tighten up the interface a little especially given that iPhone 5 has even more real estate than my 4s. ( For all I know, they will add more data to the home screen because of the extra i5 real estate - just please don't put banner ads there!) Really a 4.5/5 but we can't award 1/2 stars so a niggle costs a whole point!

Used it on a motorcycle tour of BC. Really useful, and useable anywhere.

A complete hack job of an app. Will not correctly install on watch 5 with cellular. Many circular error messages. No english language support. Barometric pressure at US airports is in inches, and no way to enter the local pressure to calibrate. Watch says “Requires iPhone. Please launch “altimeter plus” on iphone to complete setup. Did that. Nothing. Dead end. Deleted. Reinstalled. Both on phone and watch. Nothing. Phone app will not function until both phone and watch are rebooted. Serious pairing problems. Watch app will not work without phone.

The dial altimeter only has 1 hand, so it’s only accurate to the hundreds position. Instead of smoothly incrementing up and down, one digit at a time, the digital altimeter spins wildly, in one direction only, like a slot-machine, making you think it’s broken. You cannot tell at a glance, whether you are ascending or descending. ...you have to wait for the slot-machine to stop spinning to see whether your altitude is higher or lower than the previous reading.

It has a cool look, like an old, analog aviation altimeter. Unfortunately it does not work and the interface is unfathomable garbage. It wants calibration, and I know my current barometric in inches of Hg, but it does not seem to know that is, nor have a decimal to enter the measurement any closer than the nearest whole number. Two free ones I downloaded work great, while this one is shiny garbage. It should be easier to get a refund when when buying something that is clearly just fraud. This thing is a wooden nutmeg.

Please, for the love of god, provide the ability to set the background color! I can’t believe that the developers ever used this in the outdoors. Dark blue on a black background is completely invisible outdoors making an otherwise excellent app absolutely worthless in real world applications. Unless you’re in a darkened cockpit that would already have an altimeter. I had to delete it and use an inferior product that I could use.

I was under the impression that this app would be independent from my iPhone 7 but NO you do need to turn on Bluetooth for it to work with the Apple Watch . What is the purpose of this app when you need your phone close by....am I missing something here? I was deceived first hand when I downloaded this app for .99cents and now I feel like a sucker....don't download this app if you want the Apple Watch to be independent from your phone !!

It works great but I wish it would work while flying too and while in plain mode but it doesn’t. I thought I red something that it works but it did not. That was the main reason I got it. Too bad. But other than that it works great.

This app worked great for a while and now crashes when the Barometer is selected or the settings button is selected. Can’t update the version if it needs updating since all it does is crashes. Developer’s support page is not in English so that isn’t any help either.

It is accurate and great to look at. But it is a power hog. Drained my Apple Watch3 battery in part of a day. Now I turn it on to take readings and then turn it off. Hoping the developer will improve power consumption.

App is great but it hasn’t been updated for the iPhone X and it doesn’t work on the Apple Watch without having the iPhone present. The new Apple Watch has a barometric altimeter and GPS built in so no need to be tethered to a phone to function.

This altimeter is ok but it only gives a sea level altitude. This app would get 4 stars of a rating from me if one could set it to either AGL and or for Sea level. A Kollsmen window and Barber pole would earn it 5+ stars

Apple Watch series 11, latest iOS, gets stuck on calibrating to local elevation. I got this app for that feature many years ago.

I bought this app to get altitude on a watchface. It turns out that the app needs to be updated to get complications on the new watch faces. Please update.

Plus or minus 10ft does not work well when you live at or near sea level. They should tell you this before purchase.

Adds nothing you can’t already get from the free compass that comes with iPhone or Apple Watch, and it prompts you to “calibrate” every day.

Clunky on watch, had to open in phone to start working. Disappointed there wasn’t a simple watch compilation either. Not worth the $

Just purchased this app, wanting to use it for hiking, first time i start it on my watch, I get the message that it will not work with the next OS, which comes out in 3 days. Such a waste of money. I immediately regret this purchase. I guess that’s why it “on sale”.

Took on an aircraft (not over 10,000') and does not work on either mode when airborne. Complete failure when cell coverage is lost.
