Some recent App Store reviews:

"I've been training and testing for the past few days, and I've improved my knowledge of chords more quickly than any other method I've tried."

• Do you sometimes struggle to tell which chords in a song are major or minor?

• Have you heard about chord inversions, but don't know what they are, or how to tell them apart by ear?

• Are you looking for a way to spice up your song-writing and create more interesting, compelling chord progressions?

Chordelia: Triad Tutor teaches you the 4 core types of chord you need to know to tackle these real-world musical challenges. By learning to recognise major, minor, augmented, and diminished 'triads', you'll boost your musical creativity and perception, and build a foundation for learning more advanced chords like seventh chords, extended chords, and suspended chords.

You'll learn how to:

• Distinguish major and minor chords - instantly, effortlessly, and reliably
• Recognise the unusual sounds of augmented and diminished chords and how they can enhance a song
• Identify all these chord types, whichever inversion is used - and know which inversion it is!

Chordelia: Triad Tutor uses the same approach as our best-selling interval training app, RelativePitch, which has helped thousands of musicians learn to hear intervals easily and reliably. You'll get the information you need for each topic, and can then train and test your ear to learn the material at your own pace. Using the app for even just five minutes a day will noticeably improve your chord skills!

If you get stuck, the lessons can be adjusted to meet your needs and help you pinpoint difficulties. The app automatically tracks your progress too, so you'll know that you're improving.

Maybe you've spent some time training intervals with RelativePitch and want to extend your skills to chords. Or perhaps you're an experienced musician who wants to make sure they have the fundamentals rock-solid. Or you could be a complete beginner who wants to understand what makes chords tick.

Whatever your background, Chordelia: Triad Tutor will quickly get you up to speed with the most important types of chord, and develop your musical ear in an easy, fun and effective way.

Chordelia: Triad Tutor features 7 different instruments sounds, including guitar, piano, and real human voices!

"Fun and easy to use, Chordelia's been very educational already in training me on the differences between chords. It's fun to learn (some of) the theory on chords, train my ear a bit, and then apply that to the music I hear around me (recorded music, tv shows/movies, etc.) It has helped to deepen my understanding of that music, in particular how the use of specific kinds of chords - and the emotions that those chords evoke - tie closely with the content of the music/scene." - US App Store review

Good app but would benefit with some tweaks1) Volume is too low! I have the pitch training app and it's much louder than this. Why? 2) Only four triad types. Major, minor, dim, aug Though these are the most common I'd love to see the addition of a couple of others. In my world Sus2 and Sus4 triads are very common. Would love these to be added. Or better yet see #3 3) Allow for creation of custom triads. This way I can create my own triads that are missing from this. All in all a useful app. The volume issue is a BIG one however..Version: 1.10.9

"wrong answer" pop-up glitchyThe "wrong answer" pop-up in test mode doesn't always work -- spontaneously arpegiates, just doesn't play each chord at all, or plays a shower of chords. Naming root, 1st, and 2nd inversions, a, b, and c is obvious, but, a little annoying -- why the new nomenclature?.Version: 1.3

Another great professional ear training app!I've been a long-time user of their first app, RelativePitch, and had found it very useful to improve my ability to identify intervals (I'm a singer, so this is very useful thing to have :-) ) and was by far the best app for that category in the app store. Just downloaded their new app, and it has the same simple interface that 'simply works' and I am already familiar with. It allows for easy training and testing, encourages you to get better with a simple yet effective reward system. If you want to get better at identifying intervals, I'd give this app a try!.Version: 1.0

I'm so glad I bougt this oneI've hesitated for so long. I have only 8 dollars left in my account and the Amplitube fender is on sale for 7 dollars. It's a hard decision and finally I choose this app and the Chordelia seventh heaven. I'll never regret this. Now I can discern between major and minor which is the ability I've been dreaming for years. I'm very confident and going to the next level, hoping to unlock the next difficult level. Thanks man, you've done a great job..Version: 1.3

Great app for ear trainingFun and easy to use, Chordelia's been very educational already in training me on the differences between chords. Great app, responsive serviceEar training takes a lot of practice but this app has streamlined the process quite a bit for me. Pro version lets me pick and choose whichever chord forms (and inversions) I want and drill and compare endlessly. I had some issues installing on my prior phone and the developer was very responsive. App works perfectly on my new 5s. It currently plays piano sounds but would love if it also offered guitar..Version: 1.10.8

Definitely worth itThis app has multiple features that will help you become a better musician. It's training mode has very definitive and understandable information, and it's testing mode allows you to see your own improvement, with difficulty levels ranging from beginner to very advanced..Version: 1.10.5

Excellent but can be expandedGreat product and interface. I'd like to see the first stage of each level use an anchor note and not jump around. Like it is in relative pitch. And I would live to see the app expand to 7th chords. But still worth every penny!!! 4 stars only because it is not to it's full potential yet!!!.Version: 1.0

NOT for iOS 3.xAs stated in description, if you're stuck w/ iOS version 3.x don't buy. Selection buttons are a mess. If 2 chord types are selected they are misplaced but generally usable. If all 4 chord types are selected it's a REAL mess, and one of the types is missing completely. Apart from that, this is a VERY useful app... w/ the following issues: - Answer buttons are small, and easy to miss. With larger fingers you often have to try to answer more than once. - In test mode, when an error is made the correct answers played by the app REALLY should mirror the option settings by default... meaning that if no arp is selected NO arp should be played in the corrected options. The speed on the error pop up isn't variable and it just distracts from the task at hand. (It would be really cool if there were an option to play the arp ONLY WHEN DESIRED on the error popup.) - On iOS 3.x training mode is a complete mess so I can't say a lot about it, BUT, based on what I see it's far too limited. Should be possible to repeat chords and select arp WHEN DESIRED on the fly. Then it would be possible to MUCH more effectively dig into the qualities of the chords and hear them deeply. The user needs much more control in general, but especially in training mode. - Another bonus in training mode would be an on the fly ability to play only the lowest note of the inversion. - The samples could be slightly higher quality for this application. They're good, but especially in lower registers either EQ and/or the harmonics of the fundementals get a little sloppy. This is not such a big deal for melodic or simple intervallic qualities, BUT when trying to listen deeply into the more complex harmonics of a full chord (or when trying to focus through the harmonics to the lowest sounding tone) it's a huge. (That's why it's so cool to do this stuff on a healthy grand piano... not that it's reasonable to expect that here... it could just be a bit better.) - Lastly, and least important: For the price and current functionality, extended chord forms would be a reasonable addition. This COULD appear as a seperate app, but it would seem unecessary to block out the options long term..Version: 1.2

I hear it!!!Very helpful app. I use it as a study aid for my ear training class. I'm actually starting to differentiate chord qualities (m,d,etc). Definitely worth the money..Version: 1.3

MusicianVery helpful! Very easy to use. This app has helped improved my playing by improving my ability to hear chords better..Version: 1.3

ChordellaFor musicians wanting to sharpen their ear training skills in a program developed to enhance the learning experience, I would give it a two thumbs up winner. Aziz S..Version: 1.10.5

HelpfulI can now distinguish between dim and aug triads much better. Very valuable little app!.Version: 1.3

A must have for musiciansAll of the Easy Ear Training apps should be on the required list for musicians. This one is no exception..Version: 1.10.5

Greats!.Version: 1.3

Superb! As an avid user of Relative Pitch, I've been waiting for an app to help me with chords. I was thrilled to find Chordelia, and am already hooked. There are three things in particular that I enjoy so far: 1) It's easy to use: the graphical interface is clean and user friendly and I feel like I've been able to navigate through the app easily 2) It's educational: I have a basic understanding of chords, but this app is already helping me reach a whole different level 3) It's fun! Just like RelativePitch, I enjoy that it feels like a game and I get instant feedback on how I'm doing I would highly recommend this to anyone whose looking to learn about chords or improve their ear. Outstanding!.Version: 1.0

I wish I'd had this when I was learning chordsI spent hours and hours in front of a piano keyboard during high school and college, playing one chord after another in order to learn to differentiate between them. This app would have made the process much easier. It is very easy to use, portable, and does exactly what it advertises - helps you learn the sound of different types of chords. I particularly like that you can customize settings in the training mode. Make the chords go faster or slower, display the chord type while it is playing or after it has played, plus several other customizable options. Both my 5 year-old granddaughters and I think this is a great app, and all three of us think you should buy it if you want to learn to differentiate various types of chords..Version: 1.0

Very useful toolAs someone who has a very basic knowledge of chords, I found this app to be really useful in helping to improve my overall understanding. We recently purchased a piano and I am hoping to learn to play. I feel that using this app will really help me in learning basic chord structure..Version: 1.0

Very happy students all use too!Very happy students all use too!.Version: 1.0

Worth ten times the price...seriously!Wow! These guys have really out done themselves this time. I've been working with a professional instructor on harmonic ear training for the past few weeks. Consequently, I was very eager to check out the release of Chordelia. Basically it does exactly what my instructor does...for substantially less. I highly recommend this app for anyone interested in improving their ear for harmony..Version: 1.0
