PatheticWorst app upgrade ever. i used to use this app everyday for stories, news, and videos. Now, I only use it when i have to watch the broadcast. It’s just pathetic. Whoever redesign this version seemed to only have graduated from high school and worked as a freelancer as a app designer. I couldn’t read the articles because the letters are too small. I have no way of adjusting it. I can figure out what layout configuration its using for it makes no sense. Everything is put together haphazardly as if by chance. I hate this update!I mainly use this app to see how my favorite players are doing in a tournament and they would show up at the top before the rest of the leaderboard. You’ve now taken this feature away and I have to scroll through the whole thing to look for them. Please bring that feature back! Poor App for IPadsI don't know which is worse, this app or trying to understand what Cara Robinson is saying. It seems whenever I try to look at videos and photos on the app, it times out almost immediately and goes back to my IPad home screen. Has A Mind Of Its Own…Constantly takes forever to load a page. I get the ‘slow connection’ all throughout the day despite having gigabit internet at home and fast service when I’m out. Everything works fine until I open this app. Saturday I clicked on the leaderboard for The Open and it actually read ‘ no active tournaments to report.’ Lol. BuggyOn several occasions, the app locks up upon opening. The background is there and cycles brighter and darker. There is no content. My iPhone 11 has the latest software. If this happened once or twice, no big deal, but it’s happened at least 10 times over the last several months. Too much TomBrandel and Paul, your coverage of the PC is great except for one thing. Your nauseating worship of Tom Kim, a young golfer with a 2-2 record this week. He took part in wins over Scottie, Sam, Patrick, and Xander, all of whom are underperforming. Scottie is downright stinking the place up, and except for a couple of good putts, so is Sam. Atrocious update — constructive criticism below.I love the golf channel app and it’s my go to for scoring, news, op-eds, instructional videos, etc. The update had some great ambition to expand the feature set and offer direct streaming options, equipment reviews, etc. But there are MAJOR bugs that need to be reworked. 1. Scoring — following players is extremely cumbersome. I have to attempt 3-4 times to tap the star next to a player before I’m actually following them. Please fix the hit box — it’s inexcusable right now. 2. When I click on a player the scoring interface automatically takes me to Round 1, regardless of which round I’m checking. This is insane. If a player is halfway through his third round and I want to look at his card, the app should by default take you to the MOST RECENT available card. If I care to see a player’s previous rounds, I’ll do so at my own discretion. This is such a simple fix. 3. Video playback within stories is still really slow, cumbersome, buggy and constantly crashes. Needs to be addressed. 4. You are integrating a lot more Instagram into the app in order to keep up with the times and jump on the IG bandwagon. That’s great but please integrate this in a more seamless manner. Just talk to your developer colleagues at Buzzfeed about how to integrate IG into your platform. 5. Other than that — I truly love the direction of the app and all the added features and content. Terrible updateI have never written an app review before, but after years of using the Golf Channel app with only one complaint (more on that in the next paragraph), I feel compelled to say that your latest upgrade is one of the worst upgrades to any app I have ever used. The fonts are so small that text can barely be seen and so gray that text can hardly be distinguished from the background. There's way too much white space between names and scores and between one name and the next, so you can't gather in a lot of information all at once, and there's no box or line (just the faint word "Leaderboard" separating favorite players from the full field scores. First a clunky re-presentation, now portrait mode only. Sigh...Short version: I accepted the previous version’s redo of the presentation of the app grudgingly thinking I’d get accustomed to it. Long version: I keep the Golf Channel app in my iPad dock as it is, but now was, my go-to golf news app. I also use my iPad exclusively in landscape mode, unless I have no choice for an app I need. Then the n-1 version came out, the articles and sections were redone to the point where it took some effort to find what previously easily was accessed. I thought it was a change I’d get used to over time. Then the current version, #477, came out, and, despite the splash screen presenting in landscape mode, once the content is filled, the screen flips to portrait mode, with no options I can find to override that in the settings panel. What were they thinking?The new version of this app is disorganized, almost chaotic - it is just impossible to navigate to scores and stories in a logical manner. Who thought this was a good idea? Presidents Cup coverageNot sure what’s happening with your golf show production but I’m very disappointed. Number and length of commercials has exceeded anything I’ve ever watched - even the Super Bowl. The split screen is a disaster. The overall standing isn’t going to change for two/three hours but it takes almost 20% of the split screen and you won’t show any information on the match your trying to show on the split screen. Somebody in your organization needs to make some major changes with the overall focus on what you think the viewers would like to watch or see. The OpenI’m watching The Open on NBC Golf on TV and I’m not sure if NBC knows that there’s more then just Rory Mcilroy, Gary Woodland, and Paul Casey. If you didn’t know people like Rickie Fowler and Si Woo Kim out there have good rounds but because it’s Rory’s home course he’s the only one who’s going to be on TV. Paul Casey might be the only one in that group to make the cut but he’s getting the least amount of tv time because we have the US Open champion and hometown boy out there, so we don’t care about the other people. Also I get it’s in the UK but that doesn’t mean that only people from the UK get to be on TV. I watched a hour of golf and only saw people from the UK. The old daysGolf Channel use to be a great place to get the tips you could use to help your game on the course. That’s all changed now because the tips you advertise all cost money. Disappointing 9 times out of 10I love the golf channel and have been watching since it was first put on the air. Bad UpdateI share the opinions of many other recent reviews. The new update is not good. Difficult to navigate now and nearly impossible to read scores. Font is in micro format. 3/3/18 - so an update to the last failed update was implemented. The "fix" is to turn your view to portrait now which you have no control over. Always issues trying to watch golf liveThe logging in / connecting to your cable provider always feels like a science project trying to get it to work. Every time I’ve finally gotten it to work, it’s taken nearly 30 minutes of going back and forth with customer service. Pretty patheticThis app has been excellent in the past. Apparently there’s been a new patch that broke everything because 1) chrome cast doesn’t work at all 2) you can’t watch for more than 10 minutes at the absolute maximum without getting a “mulligan” endless buffering error and 3) very often literally none of the tabs will load even their home screen and redownloading the app does nothing. Player Scores per round lost w update + $ payout never shownPlease provide a single screen view that shows 18 holes and final score per round view. Currently have to add the 9s yourself and swipe for R1, R2, R3 & R4 + add to see scores by round. Stacking the 9s is unnecessary and there is no final score shown. What was great is now garbage.This was a great app now like other have said is the TMZ of golf. The score area is terrible. Player Cards all have the birthday set to January so all the ages are off a year. Some of the years are just flat wrong as well. Same stock golf course picture on all the players. Fantasy golfThe fantasy golf doesn’t even work for me anymore the main reason I even downloaded the app to begin with. Men Only??A decent application if you’re only interested in men’s golf. There are fans of women’s golf (LPGA and LET as two examples) who also enjoy watching and following women’s tours and players as well. Example: you can select an unlimited number of male competitors to follow in any given tournament but a maximum of 8 female competitors in any tournament your channel happens to report on.
