"***** Best DBT app available!!!
Simply put, this is the most helpful DBT or CBT app available. I bought a new iPhone to be able to use it. DBT skills are priceless. I had tried every, other DBT and CBT app. This one follows the traditional DBT program exactly, and is the only Diary Card. Before I had this app, I'd seldom fill in my diary card. Now that I have it, I don't have to keep track of paper, and I rarely miss a day. I can fill in my Diary Card discreetly, from anywhere, anytime, and send it directly to my DBT coach. I no longer have to worry about someone coming across my Diary Cards. You can brush up on skills, use it for distress tolerance suggestions, tailor it to your needs, and even journal. I appreciate that I can add personal goals to my diary. Thank you for this app!" - iTunes US Review

"***** I am in IRL-DBT and this app is the perfect complement. Oh. I love that the app is so flexible, that you can make it kind of your own, and the layout is so nice, simple, yet beautiful. For me, a true life-saver! Genius! Without a doubt the best app in my IPhone... Get it now!" - iTunes Sweden Review

"***** Perfect! Worth the money!" - iTunes US Review

As an educated consumer, it's important to know to whom you're listening. DBT Diary Card was created by a Ph.D. psychologist trained directly by Dr. Marsha Linehan and at the Duke University Medical Center; we are experts in DBT, providing consultation to many in our community. And now we're giving it to you!

A DBT app can have 3 parts:

- A reference manual
- A behavior tracker
- A skills coach

DBT Diary Card has all 3 of these parts and utilizes the iOS platform in ways that the other apps available don't and can't.

+ PDF generation
+ Notification Pane support
+ Password protection
+ Advanced text editing
+ Media playback

What DBT Diary Card has to offer:

- Skills. LOTS of them. Every DBT skill you've ever heard about in a group is in here. It can be your quick reference to your skills so that you don't have to carry around your book or binder. Every skill is described in readable language to help you understand them easily and it's all just a quick tap away.

- Emotions. All the "basic" emotions are presented, again with descriptions and explanations a quick tap away.

- Behaviors. The most troublesome are pre-loaded.

- Coaching. If you know you need to use a skill but can't think of which one or can't remember how to choose, use the app. The coaching can be your virtual therapist.

- Complete customizability. Are you working on something different or do you have a different understanding of a particular skill or emotion? Change it. It's that easy. You are not wedded to the way it's presented in the app. It's all completely customizable.

- 911 skills. Put your emergency skills a tap away. You can call directly from the app, listen to your distress tolerance music, remember what apps help in the moment.

- Email. You can email your therapist your diary card on a weekly basis automatically, you can do it manually whenever you'd like or you can have the app remind you.

DBT Diary Card & Skills Coach Positive Reviews

IPhone 11 IssueThe app worked awesome on my previous IPhone. My new IPhone 11 Pro Max the notes are half off the screen and the button you push to enter notes sits on the first note making it difficult to use. I use the notes as my diary for the day so I can reference back to it during my therapy session. I tried to uninstall the app and re-install it but that didn’t fix it, I only lost all my saved information. Feeling frustrated. After submitted my review an updated was released that fixed the note issues. This is by far the best DBT app I have found. The customization allows me to tailor it to what is being addressed and worked on whole turning off the targets I don’t need to track. Update.... The IPhone 11 will not allow me to update/edit the time. This feature was handy when I remembered something from the previous day and wanted it to be in the correct order of events for that day..Version: 3.7.3

Needs a little workFirst off, I absolutely love this app and recommend it highly. I just have a couple of items that I feel would greatly improve the app’s usefulness. 1.- When using the coaching feature, the text boxes don’t allow use of iPhone’s keyboard predictive text feature that I rely on for text input. I don’t know if there is any way to enable its use/functionality but I would really appreciate it as it would make using the coaching feature less cumbersome. 2.- It would mean a lot if there was a way to save the coaching feature text and come back to it. Or even get Siri to encourage a user to complete the coaching text. I don’t know if it’s my ADHD or my chronic pain that makes it hard to complete all of the coaching texts in one sitting. But I feel like I need to sometimes think over the question and I have lost my input and had to start over. 3.- Lastly, and I have no idea how this would be deployed…but I would love more integration with Siri. I don’t know if there’s a way to get a check-in about my overall mood or symptoms and based off that result to use whatever features. 4.- I would love for the time that I spend working on DBT skills to translate into the mindfulness health data in Apple’s Health app, for mindfulness related skills or activities that I’m doing with the app’s recommendation(s). Thank you for all you do! I look forward to seeing this app evolve!.Version: 3.7.4

FrustratedSome parts of the app are really helpful: keeping track of emotions and skills, and being able to edit them. However, (1) one of the selling points is emailing the diary card to your therapist, and this feature hasn’t worked, I could email it to my self either. I’ve been sending screenshots to my therapist instead, hence PART of my frustration. (2) I have emailed support twice on the matter without a response, it has been months. (3) I also have questions I want to ask about some of the features like trying to adjust the date on the diary card (since I’m doing it manually), but I can’t; (4) and the colored graphs look really cool except it’s not showing the second page or all the variables. In closing, the above issues aside, I like this app. I like adding time stamped notes with my thoughts and adjusting the categories throughout the day, and the daily alarm to complete it. I hope someone sees this and gets in contact with me and fixes the problems. Peace..Version: 3.7.4

Contacts glitchThis app used to work awesome on my previous phone. However, I’m noticing a glitch in trying to add emergency contacts. When I go into settings to add them, it calls them instead, and will not add the contacts in. I’m not able to call people through my 911 skills, which takes away that feature for me. Hopefully this can be fixed because I love the app otherwise!.Version: 3.7.4

I love this app!I’ve been using this app on my iPhone since January, at the recommendation of my therapist. I love how detailed it is and the explanations of the different skills and targets. It’s very helpful when I’m not sure if and what skill I used. I especially like the notes section, which has now replaced my journal (which I only used sporadically). I really like that I can send a weekly log to my therapist and we can talk about whatever issues came up for me during the previous week. I used to forget sometimes a particular negative thought or urge, but now it’s all there in the diary card for us to discuss. Even though I’ve finished my year-long DBT class, I’m reminded daily to use the skills I learned and to reacquaint myself with ones I’ve forgotten..Version: 3.7.4

Dear Developer/Therapist who created this app,I get that app development is not your day job. I get that you created something that you thought would be (and is!) helpful. But now things are breaking within the app and you’ve either decided to do nothing or have completely forgotten about us altogether. Or maybe you know we’re frustrated but don’t know how to fix the litany of bugs in your app. That’s understandable. But we did pay for this app, and therefore a certain standard of upkeep is required. If you are not up to that task, I suggest issuing us all refunds and making this a free app. If you aren’t willing to issue refunds and can’t fix the bugs, perhaps hire a developer short-term who can. As it stands, we paid for something that doesn’t fully work, and that is unacceptable..Version: 3.7.4

5STAR MINUS 2So this application is wonderful, I’m a disabled US Army Vet and this app was recommended to me from my one on one therapist and my PTSD group therapy. It’s full of all the information covered in our text and when it’s time to email my DBT Card to my therapist THERE lies the problem. The email option DOES NOT work. I don’t care it’s only $5 for the app, my money, my time. Physically Im not always able to use my hands fully and I use a lot of Dragon Speech to Text to help me get schoolwork done. It’s a huge imposition to try and screenshot all the pages, print them to scan, only to EMAIL😞The up and down honestly aggravates my injuries and as I await a much needed surgery on my limbs, this COVID crap has everything canceled so the convenience of being able to EMAIL the PDF would be a FANTASTIC 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.Version: 3.7.4

GlitchyBeen using this app for awhile, everything is okay at best. Originally when I downloaded it years ago there were no other DBT apps out there. Now, there’s tons, and most of them are free. I paid for this one. A few things I don’t like: this app resets your previous data from diary cards when you try and customize or fix a target behavior or skill, instead of storing the old data as separate. Also, it won’t let me add my therapists email for some reason. Her email works until I type the “s” at the end and then I can’t hit the save button. If you have the money, pay for it. Years ago this was my only option for doing a DBT diary card on my phone. But now, there’s lots of free options out there, I recommend you try a different app..Version: 3.7.4

Is Anyone There?Hello, I am a person in therapy, and my therapist has had me using this app for about a year now and it’s been pretty good so far. Everyone at my therapist’s practice uses this app, and I know my therapist has come to rely on it. That being said, after the update to IOS 16, I can no longer load the chart feature which is the only way for my therapist and I to really look at how my week’s been. The support email is defunct, and this app hasn’t been updated in 2 years, so I’m just leaving this review to see if anyone’s still paying attention, because I’d love for this app to get fixed so my therapist, her practice, and I don’t have to try to find a replacement. Loved it so far, would love to keep using it, Sage.Version: 3.7.4

Good App, bad UIThe app overall is very good. The UI, however, certainly does not work for this guy with not really very large fingers. The up/down buttons are just tiny! Also, the app does not understand the difference between no value entered, and a 0 scale..Version: 3.7.4

Great structure- frustrating executionI am hopeful that this app will be updated with a better system of downloading the charts for my therapist. I feel like I have tried everything to get the email to work but it fails every time. Or I wish I could just download the pdf of the chart. Support button isn’t working either. And I have difficultly getting the buttons to select moods/thoughts/urges. They frequently select definitions of those items instead..Version: 3.7.4

Wonderful App!Downloaded this app about a year ago. I struggled with remembering to do the paper diary cards. This app sends me a reminder every night to record my day & it easily emails to my therapist every week! I’m so thankful for it because it has made things much easier & helps me with my skills. I recommend it to anyone doing DBT therapy!.Version: 3.7.4

Reinstalled to fix: App Does not LoadUpdate: reinstalled it and everything is working great! The app opens but contains no information. There is a blank calendar and everything you click shuts down the app. They do not offer support or a refund..Version: 3.7.4

Decent AppPaid for the application and can’t get it to email my diary cards. Filled out the emails and other contact info and selected to have them sent on a certain day. It has yet to do so and will not let me force it in settings. I’ve started just sending screen shots of the cards to the DBT coaches. Otherwise the app does the rest of it’s functions well. I like the definitions..Version: 3.7.4

Wonderful appThis DBT app lets me log all of the information that I put in my daily diary card, as well as having good definitions of many of the practices and terms, and access to many emergency tools. In addition, most things are very customizable. I use it daily!.Version: 3.7.4

Can only log once a dayLove the customizability, but you can only log one entry per day. The dairy card my therapist gave me logs AM and PM, so this can’t be a replacement for that. I assumed the twice a day entry was standard for this exercise, and wouldn’t have bought the app if I knew. I find logging emotions in the morning and evening is very important..Version: 3.7.4

New bugI have LOVED this app for the two years I have been in DBT. Absolutely loved it. However, in the last week or so, I have lost the ability to select a date range for a chart to send to my therapist, which makes it all but useless. I sincerely hope it is fixed soon so that I can get back to using it..Version: 3.7.2

Issue generating weekly reportsI tried emailing the developer and the email bounced back. When I go to generate weekly reports of my diary card for therapy they do not include the behaviors I am tracking. If someone could help me with this I would really appreciate it! Thank you.Version: 3.7.4

I love this app!I love this app! It is so good for practical application! With the update to IOS 16 on an apple X-RAY the report will no longer generate and flashes and closes the app. So I hope this will be fixed soon. Thank you!.Version: 3.7.4

The app keeps on crashingThe app worked great for the few years I've had it, but now whenever I try to open it, it crashes.Version: 3.7.4

Crashes during chart generationI absolutely love this app. It’s served my time doing DBT well. However the app started crashing during chart generation which is something essential to my care. As such, I’m unable to use the app anymore. Disappointing..Version: 3.7.4

UpdateI would like to see more updates like different colors and more organization..Version: 3.7.4

I use this all the timeI downloaded every single app available, tried them all, and love this one the best..Version: 3.7.4

Mastering your skillsIt’s amazing to have access to the skills abd track your progress. Perfect to keep your mind sharp!.Version: 3.7.4

Good but glitchy, it’s not unusablePlease fix the glitch with selecting dates, I really do love this app but whenever I enter a scrolling menu to select the days I want to email out, half the thing is blank and doesn’t let you pick some numbers.Version: 3.7.4

Email function doesn’t workI love everything about the app except that the email function doesn’t work for me to send to my therapist each week..Version: 3.7.4

IntervalsSO difficult to tap the up and down arrows to change numbers!.Version: 3.7.4

Dropbox support?I love the app. Thank you. Dropbox does not seem to be working though. I want to backup on one iPhone so I can restore the data onto a different phone but it is saying it is not compatible with the new version of Dropbox and that the app needs to be updated. I did send an email to support but I have not received any response back yet..Version: 3.5.3

DBT skillsEnjoying using this app, much easier than packing my binder around :).Version: 1.1.1

So-soThis app has been more helpful than not but there are a few issues I have with it. Positive aspects: - I really like how much DBT stuff has been integrated into the app. - I like that the urges and emotions are customizable. Helps a lot with trying to track your own circumstances. Negative aspects: - I have yet to be able to send a report of my tracking despite having my email entered. I've tried removing it and putting back but still am unable to send. I don't want to delete the app and retry because then I lose all the data I have so far. - App could use some refreshing and be a little more user-friendly. As someone who has done a DBT course the skills are familiar enough to me that I know when and how to use them but for someone without prior instruction this app would not be much help. It has potential to be very helpful to anyone struggling with dysregulated thoughts and emotions..Version: 3.4

Use with my therapist - incredibly handy!I love that everything is customizable and that you can easily email the diary to your therapist at the end of each week.Version: 3.5.1

The best DBT card app by farThis app is very well thought out and easy to use. It has detailed descriptions of each category. You can customize the cards. You can easily email a card or a date range of cards in PDF. It is very intuitive and the support provided is very quick and helpful..Version: 3.4

Extremely helpful!!I found this app to be very helpful and provided me with a lot of tools in regard to DBT. The diary cards provide a lot of options, and there's even tips. You can also email it to your therapist which my personal therapist loves. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who is going through dialectical behaviour therapy!!!.Version: 2.5.1

Excellent DBT APPI agree with all the 5 star ratings thus far. I am nearing the end of a years journey in DBT Group and have found this app extremely valuable and customizable. - Diary Card - Skills - Coaching - Ability to Email Psychologist, printable etc. - and More! I absolutely like having this App, it's at hand 24/7 from my iPhone. Thank you for building this great app. The small fee to buy the app, is a great investment to yourself. Note to the developers: thank you for including feedback, questions etc. you have proven to be very prompt in answering back..Version: 2.0.2

Really helpful :)I'm in the middle of DBT right now and downloaded this app a week ago after my therapist recommended it. So far it has been super helpful, and I love being able to do diary cards on the go from my iPod. I used to have a hard time remembering to fill out my diary cards every day, but with this app it's so easy to remember. I would definitely recommend this to anyone in DBT :).Version: 2.0.2

A wonderful DBT-based app!For anyone who is in the middle of DBT treatment or was in the past, this app is a valuable resource to manage your own emotions and thoughts more effectively. It really is like having a little coach/therapist in your iPhone! I finding it incredibly helpful..Version: 2.0.2

AmazingI've been involved in a DBT group since September 2012 and have been slowly but surly putting these skills into action and bettering myself. Filling out the diary card given to me, on the other hand, has been a challenge! I was so excited to find this app to help me keep track of my progress. So all in all, I'm extremely happy with this app!.Version: 2.0.2
