If purchasing multiple apps from this programmer, be aware that the optional datum pack will only work within the app it was purchased in. Emergency Location Within 10Meters Using UTM-BI use Compass and Theodite from this developer and am very satisfied going on about 5 years now. Recently I have been encouraging my loved ones to place Pro Compass App on the first page of their iPhone with settings on UTM-B. Now if they have an emergency in today’s unstable environment, they can dial 911 and read the UTM-B number when they don’t know exactly where they are at. Awesome appReally well thought out and detailed application that is also extremely simple and easy to use. The interface is really smooth and the map feature is a huge plus when you need to flip over and see where you are on the map. OutstandingI spent the majority of my military career as a Field Artilleryman. In the Field Artillery having an accurate compass is an absolute necessity! During my time I would have gladly used this application in lieu of anything readily available at the time. Once you become accustomed to this application it is far more accurate and easier to use than the standard M2 used by the Army. Having access to the datum packs further enhances this compasses use and accuracy. I wholeheartedly recommend this application and the purchase of the datum pack to anyone who has a need for a compass in the field! If there is a better compass app in the store I've yet to find it! Really like but...I love these apps. Used them for years for rough estimates; however, I wish the margin of errors were smaller. Almost what I want it to beI like everything about the app, but would like one addition. I'd like to see an setting allowing adjustment +\- of so many degrees to make it more accurate. I know the app is limited to the info it gets from the phone, but to be able to set it to compensate for the phones deficiency would be awesome. The most elegant and useful professional compass appWhat it does, it does incredibly well - true and magnetic bearings, when either horizontal or vertical. Gps location readout, including magnitude of error. 2-dimensional bubble levels plus analog scale so you can assure the instrument is level. Choice of scales. I have tried multiple compass apps. Pro CompassI would remove the pro in pro compass. It does have a 15 degree error that can be as much as 20-25 degrees - somewhat unnerving since it is listed under the navigation category. Pro compassI don't know what app the other reviewers are using, but the one I've downloaded has wonderful graphics and amazing screen clarity; however the screen clearly states that the compass heading indicated is +/- 35 degrees. That is 1/5 of the dial. When I'm in the far Northern Minnesota territories a 5 degree error is serious. A little disappointed on IPadI got to this link from the "other apps by hunter" feature of the app store. Wanted to use this as the main compass on a boat, but I really didn't notice that this is NOT an iPad app but an iPhone app. I mean it works, but the graphics are small and poorly rendered on an iPad. It doesn't seem that it would be a lot of work on the developers part to provide native screen support for the larger iPad screen (hint, hint). Also would like an option to REMOVE the bubble levels from the screen and perhaps another one to hide the tan-colored info boxes at either end for a cleaner look in a marine instrument environment.
