I love going there with my family and walking around especially on Sundays when they have a truck load of samples. I love that buying things in bulk there is very affordable and I love blowing my entire pay checks there!!! I wish Costco had a direct deposit from my work to them. Please don’t ever change. Washer & Dryer BundleCostco has great prices on Appliances especially when on sale. We have not gotten delivered yet but are looking forward to having this beautiful LG Washer and dryer in our home. I would like Costco to know what a hassle it was to buy all 4 pieces at once. I had to buy it in three orders and a second dryer to be able to get the last pedestal then cancel the original dryer and then the price adjustment due to the first and second sale being over. After 15 years of retail management I sure hope you work on this clinch in the system. On a bundle sale this why not allow the customers order to be placed with all pieces on hold until the missing comes in stock then charge the customers and deliver all pieces. Similar to a special order but tie up the pieces you have in stock and give an estimated date of order completion You would then know how many pieces and which pieces you need to complete the sale. You could also deliver a partial order with the remaining on back order. Otherwise you most likely will lose customers, I almost gave up out of frustration looking at other product and retailers. One more glitch was not being able to buy the pedestal by itself even though I had a dryer paid for delivery on hold waiting for the pedestal to come in. I even shopped else where to find one but it appears this is a Costco designated item other than LG. A Shopping Experience Probably More Organised Than The Brick & Mortar Store Itself!Honestly speaking, I would naturally think that the title would certainly need to hold true if one of the world’s most highly-regarded warehouses club memberships retailer had a mobile app to supplement membership shopping experience. Thankfully, it all holds true in the Costco app! The app puts more power to the member when fully set up with their Costco online account. Although it is mostly an app that encapsulates the mobile website, it certainly helps simplify navigation of the Costco website. It is clean and easy to navigate. Shopping on this is sometimes easier than going to the storewhen everything from the category of things you want to buy to the transparency of savings, whether you judge it as really good savings or not versus your annual membership dues, is right there in front of you. Costco, please hire more backend/front end engineers so your app works as expected. You can do this!So I usually never give ratings but seriously who are the engineers dealing with this e-commerce app. The app very infrequently loads information correctly. Today I couldn’t see all the ratings on my mobile app. And I’ve tried refreshing it and closing the app and clicking the blue link that says (183 reviews) near the product name. BUT gee. And this isn’t my first time with issues accessing information. Costco, why are you likely hiring external vendors to make your app when I’m sure you’re getting a lot of orders. You’re losing orders because the app couldn’t even load an add to cart button on some pillows I wanted to buy. And it’s frustrating how there are blank white spots on the app that I scroll past. Costco is always and forever my favorite place to shop!And I say this, as someone who hates, absolutely HATES, shopping! Wegmans and Target come close, but from the time I joined Costco as an Executive member in 2008 in order to get my wedding party flowers and stock up on sodas and all the other things for my wedding, it’s been amazing ride and I’ve never looked back. From my weekly to biweekly grocery trips; to my whole wardrobe at this point; to appliances; to my brand new shower install: I think I’ve only scratched the surface of what Costco can offer me and I’m eager to experience more. This week I went in to pick up my usual protein shakes and they were out—which was a bummer. But guess what?? Turns out I can order them online and have them delivered with free shipping and I’ll get them in two days: no harm no foul. And my favorite thing about Costco I think is how happy all the employees seem to be. To me that is one of the number one reasons I like shopping there. As someone who is not particularly thrilled at her place of work, you can tell when people are just gritting their teeth and getting through the day to be nice to the customers. Costco appI absolutely LOVE this app, and I’ve had it for a few years now...and I continue to see new things to this day that I didn’t know it had or was a thing. Awesome options to be organized, and you can create “wish lists” to move items into them if you want to get them but can’t at the moment. So you will have lists to go to down the road. Very easy to use, it saves all of your info so after the first order, everything is saved in there so you don’t have to enter it ever again. Also has a digital membership card, and an option to select your rebate/$ back rewards if you have the executive membership to see a tally through the year of how much of a rebate you will get. You can do 2 day delivery and other options if available in your area, and so much more. Even an option like a few weeks ago I needed new slippers, so since they didn’t have what I wanted, there’s an option that Costco offers where there are links direct to the companies and you get Costco’s warehouse prices on things if you go through Costco. It transferred me to dear forms slippers website, and I ordered through them and received Costco’s warehouse price instead of what a regular customer would pay for it. I can’t even begin to list all that this app does and can be done with it. Use the “list” function to keep everything you need to eventually get all organized and easy to find. I have multiple lists, examples are- Shawna’s wish list”, “Office/business supplies”, Ricks list, home list, Christmas, and more and if I find an item I really want, but can’t afford it right now, I just move it to one of my lists so I can pull it up anytime. There’s also a “shopping list” option, and a option to download coupons digitally and it then puts its in a shopping list for you so when you go to Costco you can just open it up, and get it all...it’s all things with a digital coupon. Everything at CostcoI’ve spent thousands of dollars at Costco, I believe 100% in their products, warranties, etc. I’ve used the Costco car buying multiple times, purchased large ticket items such as mattresses, beds, chairs, glasses, tires, food bar, gas, you name it, I’ve bought it. All of that, and nothing compares to their meat department. For brisket, I hit the business center as they have pallets of meat, for all other meats, I hit the “comp,” store off from market street in San Diego, for Buffalo mozzerella (flown from Italy, but pasteurized) at Friars, they all now pretty much carry my Ito En Tea from Japan, and all the other favorites. My girl likes the sweet corn, any all the meats I smoke on our 6 grills, to include an Ooni (pizza oven), and of course I use the charcoal and pellets, private label Kirkland. Costco IS NOT Sam’s Club!!!!First of all, Costco IS NOT Sam’s Club. There is no scan and go feature, which I understand because not allowing this feature minimizes the risk of theft - and forces you to interact with associates at the store. Also helps keep jobs intact, which is something Costco as a company cares about a lot. I support Costco more simply because of their employee treatment. They wouldn’t even have self checkout if it wasn’t just a consumer demand. Yes, the app needs a lot of updates, but the true reason for the app is to have your membership card on hand at all times IN CASE you forget your card. Not to replace your card completely. App fails to load - Must use website instead.The recent version(s) of Costco’s app fail to load / start-up — this just began in the past couple months. Originally, deleted app and re-downloaded it from Apple App Store on 2 or 3 occasions and after the reinstall the app would load and work fine once or twice, then it resumes the failure to load after that. Today, after the re-install, it fails to load at all. No error message, just appears to freeze on the “C” logo. This must be tarnishing the reputation of Apple’s ecosystem, App approval testing, and quality control. None of my other iPhone apps have had such defective operation. Update: Three days ago I reported a recurring Costco app start-up bug / freeze-up at logo. Just 7 hrs ago another update was provided in the App Store. CommunicationsI receive an email or sale notice everyday at least once, but other changes at warehouse are few? Like no notice in executive member shopping hours, I just happen to hear at the warehouse a red vest say did you know? The big change of membership card at entrance was a bit confusing as we were scanning our credit card for what charge? I had a vice president I complained to and he said it’s like going to the GYM, your card is sanded to get in. I said my gym card does not have a 15k credit card attached. Why is it so hard to get the gas prices? You would think we could sign up for a Costco apt that gave us daily fuel prices at our near by Costco filing center. Could we wash our windows also? Pretty Good, But Could Be BetterOverall this is a decent app. No need to have your membership card with you anymore. You can create a shopping list and it’ll tell you if any items are on sale. If I were to fix just one thing, I would have the home page icons customizable so I can put the shopping list there. As it is, you have to go through 4 steps to reach your shopping list (hands down the most important feature of the app). For some reason they felt having a list of all the stores in your area was more important. I go to (at most) 3 Costcos and I know where they are. On the rare occasion that I need to search for a different one I just Google it. That icon can be buried where the shopping list is and they can put the shopping list on the Home Screen. A Bug in the Shopping List?I’ve been trying to report a bug in the Costco app, but I’m not really sure how to get it to the right people. I’ve been using your app since it was released, especially the Shopping List tool. The top portion of the list has the items I want to purchase, and then when you check them off, they go to the bottom (already purchased) part of the list with a checkmark next to them. In earlier versions of the app, I could click on an “already purchased” item, and it would go back up to the wish list at the top. BUT, more recently, when you click on an already purchased item, it moves to the very bottom of the already purchased list, and you have to click on it AGAIN to move it to the wish list at the top. PrimitiveOnline ordering system is very primitive. Cannot find the item you bought in store. There should be courtesy note to indicate that a specific item is available in store only and not online. Costco do not bother to say when Kirkland items come on sale. Even though they have a schedule. For example Kirkland peanuts. Mainly sells pitted dates online. We need more and better options besides quality pricing. When placed order with protein powder my total was much more than $170. It still needed an order for $75 to reduce shipping charges of $18. Kirkland dog biscuits - new sizeThey were extremely hard for my little Maltese dog and thought that they may not bake evenly in the oven and or that the oven temperature is a little too high? Only a few weren't that bad and some she would not eat at all. Could I have gotten a stale box? I thought that I would postpone buying them for a little while to see if changes are in a new box. If this bad again, I won't be buying them for her any more. In the meantime, I did buy the large 40# bag of Kirkland Mature dog food and I thought that she would love this kibble because it is chicken, rice and egg but she doesn't like it at all. I wonder what chicken body parts are used like maybe:. liver, heart, veins and or other gross body parts. Yuk!!! One night she did eat her bowlful and that has really turned her against it totally. Improvements neededRecent changes to the app have complicated navigation. Features, such as Lists, have been imbedded under tabs which are not intuitive and difficult to access easily. On two occasions I have submitted a request for a correction which have gone unanswered or acted upon so I’ll share it here again. In your Lists feature, I don’t delete items because I regularly buy the same items, like most people I suspect. Before recent changes, going back a year I believe, clicking on a checked item automatically brought it back to the ‘active’ list whereas now, it moves the item to the bottom of the checked list and you have to click on it again at the bottom of the list to move it to the active list. If history is any indication, I suspect this third request for a correction will go unanswered again but hopefully you’ll prove me wrong and fix this problem in an upcoming release!.Hammy702Version: 7.6.9

App is great except for the colors don’t changeI love shopping for things on the Costco app except for one big reason… When you’re looking at things that come in different colors, let’s say a shirt for this example, and you click on the different colors offered, they don’t change on the app. It just shows the first color & won’t change. So then you have to go to your computer to look at the item there to see the other colors offered. I’ve found that the color buttons work a little better on the iPad app but not consistently. They rarely work on the iPhone app so it’s very frustrating because I’m not always near my computer when I’m trying to shop on the app and then forget to look again when I do get home & can use my computer. Poor functionality and full of bugsIt amazes me how Costco still can’t get their app to work halfway decently. Viewing product pictures doesn’t work properly and hasn’t for a long time. Browsing and search results take a long time to load and it isn’t due to my device or network. When you go to checkout, if you don’t know the address to ship to and leave the app to copy it. It will kick you out of the checkout process and you’ll have to start again. Effectively, ANY viewing away from the Costco app during checkout will cancel all the progress you made. This was a recent bug introduced in the past few months. It’s ridiculous how some people can get paid to be “developers” or “software engineers” but can’t even manage basic functional testing on major platforms like IOS. I guess they must be an “agile” team… lol but seriously Costco - fire your dev team and get qualified people to manage your app! It’s costing your customers a lot of time and trouble and completely inexcusable for a company of your size! Viewing product images and switching app focus during checkout are two basic functions that don’t work properly and haven’t for months. A recent update just got released so I tested it… problems are still there. So I’m writing this review. Very Glitchy and Bad Warehouse SearchAll my love and 5 stars for Costco, but this is strictly about their suboptimal app that does not live up to their name. My app is fully updated and running on an iPhone 16 pro fyi. Same issue as others have pointed out about the reviews freezing the page when you click on one to read more. Also will sometimes say cart is empty even if it’s not and have to refresh multiple times. I was also having an issue where it said I wasn’t logged in or a member which wasn’t true as I could clearly see my profile on the profile/account tab, not sure if this was fixed recently though. On a separate note, the local in-warehouse search function is very rudimentary compared to all other shopping apps or this app’s online search in that you have to type the EXACT spelling and even spacing to pull up the correct items (e.g. “RedBull” will bring up nothing, but “Red Bull” will…seriously??). You can’t search in general terms either (e.g. “Energy Drinks” will not pull up Red Bull or any of the top brands for that matter). I’m glad this function is even possible now, but it’s such an oversight that it honestly just makes me wonder if it’s on purpose to get people to walk into the store more lol..CommandolandoroosterVersion: 25.3.3

I love your employees in the store but your marketing folks are getting way off trackLet’s get this part out of the way, I have been an executive member and also have the businesses credit card for about 15 years at this point. I love the rewards from both the card and the executive level membership. Our spending level generally got us to a little under $200 a year reward on the Costco Executive Membership and our credit card spending on the Costco Business credit card generally got us somewhere between a $500-$700 rebate every year. The employees at every store except one outside of Nashville have provided excellent and friendly customer service. My issue with the app is that you have to clear out of the notification in iOS by clicking into the products on sale. As a business owner of a automotive repair shop I not going to be buying jewelry or appliances. The frustrating part is even though these things are not my interest stiffer notifications that I have to clear out of. I know Costco loves to switch up their aisles in their physical stores to have their customers explore and potentially buy more, but can you please leave your Executive/Business members alone in the app?.Edumacated RedneckVersion: 8.0.1

Love Costco, hate the appI only have Costco because of Costco Travel and I feel like the time I’ve wasted on the antiquated design has almost taken away the benefit of the money I saved on the trip. First of all finding trips is a complete hassle. You have to know exactly what day you want to try to exactly what place. Why not let me search travel packages by budget and by type of trip? Second of all and most importantly paying for Travel is an absolute un pleasure. I’ve typed in my card number no less than 10 times and yet I still had to take a pause to write this review because I have not been able to do so successfully. First of all it does not let you use any stored card information on your account, not even your billing address, so you have to type everything from scratch. Secondly there’s a glitch that I thought would be resolved by the latest update that has not been where you can’t select your State when you’re going to pay a custom amount. I had to go back-and-forth no less than 10 times to figure out that you have to put your state before you type in anything, including the amount, lot get it to work. And the lack of Apple Pay? Zero-value appThe reason I downloaded the app was because I thought it had some functionality, such as the ability to search/shop online and check in-store availability. When I searched “ice cream” it showed two unrelated items. I searched “cheese and dairy” and it showed 4 items available for purchase, to include a wheel of cheese for nearly $1,000. I received a membership as a gift and now wish I could give it to someone else who prefers Costco over Sam’s Club. Our first visit to the store involved showing the membership card to an employee in order to enter, then I see there is no scan and go option on the app. After finding a handful of items to purchase, I proceeded to self checkout where I was stopped and had to show my membership card again in order to check out. This made me appreciate Sam’s Club far more than I had previously. While our local Sam’s Club isn’t as large as Costco, it offers a sufficient amount of items and variety. Being able to use the Sam’s app for scan and go, online shopping (free shipping on many items for Plus members) and ease of ordering for curbside pickup, plus getting kickbacks to use as cash for purchases, that beats Costco’s idea of a functional app, for me..BurleyHickVersion: 24.3.2

A billion-dollar company with a ten-cent app. That’s Costco.The Costco app violates the most basic principles of mobile development: no offline-first approach, no fallback mode, no atomic update process, a broken forced update flow, and no caching of critical data. A stupid, slow app — just like the company itself, which only kills, poisons, robs people, and pollutes nature! They are so rich, yet too greedy and stingy to hire competent software developers who can actually support and improve this app for the people who pay them — the customers. Costco saves on management, and management saves on employees (by paying them low wages). This endless chain of saving and cutting corners ultimately leads to terrible service, substandard products, and a complete lack of respect for the buyers who pay for memberships, goods, and every other service Costco offers. Doesn’t workI just got a Costco membership yesterday and not only was the woman who helped me rather rude, but she forced me to download this app. I figured fine, I probably would’ve downloaded it eventually anyway. But ever since I did I’ve been getting spam calls nonstop. I had switched off Google, Facebook, Microsoft edge, and anything else which was leading me to get spam calls so I’m relatively sure this is the problem. I would imagine you are losing sales because of the difficulty finding anything through your app. I have a Costco membership and also a Sam’s club membership. I will check Sam’s app for items that I want/need. One of the few Weak Points of CostcoI love Costco. I have a membership to both Costco and Sam’s. Each place has their pros and cons but my preference for shopping is Costco overall. Now one area Sam’s Club KILLS Costco is with their app. Not only do you get Scan and Go but also you can check the store inventory right there with the app, you can pay for your gas through the app, you can place an order to be picked up through the app etc. The Costco app is really just bare bones. Yes I’m glad I can have my membership card on my phone but why can’t I scan that card at the gas pump at least? The only people that don’t have to worry about that are those with the credit card since their membership is attached to it. The app is also very slow at basic tasks like checking an order status, normally I have to kill the app and start over just to get it to work. Why can’t I see the prices of items at my local store, or even if they have any stock? App purchases for in warehouse products are higher pricedAvoid having your order delivered. It’s a MAJOR scam! You’ll pay higher prices on every item and then tip on top. It’s crazy! I had a delivery order coming today but I was in the neighborhood and ran inside to grab something and in passing I noticed something I had for delivery was $3 cheaper in store. I then realized my bag of pistachios was $3 cheaper in store. My produce was cheaper in store. My dairy was cheaper in store. In total I spent $20 more on the exact same items because they wouldn’t let me cancel my order. Then I tipped my driver 20%. I’m okay with paying a standard delivery fee or convenience charge but I’m not okay with shady pricing practices. If they said there’s a $10 service and my pricing was the same low priced as in store products, I’d willingly pay it but to be scammed like that upsets me and I will not be renewing my membership once it expires. I had the best customer service experience ever, then I had the worst.My review is from an at store experience. The first time I got a membership I had the best customer service experience I have ever had. I was so impressed and I told everyone about. Costco wants customers in their warehouse, and is disincentivized to make shopping easy. “Not connected to internet” error messageLike a few other reviewers I also ran into issues with incorrect error message saying I wasn’t connected to the internet. It’s not my phone bc I was definitely connected to wifi and had an internet connection, but just to make sure I put it on cellular to see if that changed the error message—I actually have all my apps set to work with cellular data too—but it didn’t change anything. I could not search for products using the Shop menu. It kept going same error message “The Costco App cannot connect to the internet”. Not satisfiedI dislike and disagree your reluctance to be able to use the Costco app to pay for my merchandise. All items are checked with a receipt at the door if there’s a concern about theft . Warehouse availability and offers not visibleThe app is functionally useless as it only shows what’s available online and the offers online. I would like to see if an item I am looking for is available locally in a warehouse near me in addition to online availability. Moreover, many a times there are offers on an item that are not the part of coupon booklet, I want to be able to see them on the app. It seems that you are hiding that information from customers so as to have a competitive advantage over your warehouse locally however at the cost of member losing by paying more. I like Walmart app that shows me if an item I am looking for is available at a local store and also there prices do not vary between online vs in store orders. Why should members pay more for online orders? Other companies can provide the same brands for less price than what costco charges. In addition to an upfront price increase your online prices are higher than your prices in warehouse. Nice to find previous purchases but super annoying dailyThe app is ok and serves the purpose of finding previous purchases on your account or looking up a product. It’s nice to see fuel prices as well. The reason for the 1 star is because of how often this app sends messages to you. At a minimum of once per day you get an inbox advertisement from Costco, the same one that graces your email. Sometimes you get as many as 3 of these. I personally don’t like having bubbles on my apps telling me it needs my attention so I clear these regularly. There is no option to opt out of these and will likely result in me deleting it. The other problem is you can’t delete them so all you can do is open the app->click on your member tab->click on inbox->click on each new/unviewed message. It’s not hard but inconvenient and annoying. Costco won’t let you disable that too because they know it will get people to open and clear it and then hopefully place an order. Smalls are usually huge and XS are never listed or only exist for the ugly frumpy items. App Stuck in the PastThis app and its underlying functionalities are sadly about 8 to 10 years behind the times in terms of functionality. Instead of providing a detailed product description of my ordered item in the confirmation email for my order, Costco provides only a hyperlinked order number, which requires us to login to our Costco accounts to view the ordered item’s details. This could be tolerated if when logging into my Costco account (either via the mobile app or a mobile browser) the Costco site would validate my account credentials that I reset on the day I ordered the item and recorded in my password manager then had to reset again today when I tried to login to the site/mobile app with my updated credentials. Can’t see my in warehouse purchases nowFirst the app logged me out all by itself which I saw when I opened the app. When I tried to log back in it didn’t recognize my pw. I reset the password (it oddly accepted the same one). Then when I tried to review my purchases it would let me do it for online purchases (had none) but requested I enter my member # (to ‘verify’ me) to view warehouse purchases. Now of course I was already logged in and my member number is listed on my account page. OK, whatever… I entered the member # and it said the number didn’t match your records. I have other problems with the app as a shopping tool. It doesn’t show lots of items that are in the warehouse and often search words bring back nothing or items that don’t match. I realize things change, items come and go, and different warehouses may have different items but the app should be able to handle all that AND keep us updated. Bad serviceOn three separate occasions, I have purchased a set of Michelin tires, and every time, the Costco employees create difficulties to avoid honoring the warranties or performing routine maintenance—even something as simple as a flat tire repair. You’ll find that rather than giving you info about the AP or letting you add it to your cart, trapping the tile in your search results will instead take you back to the main app landing page. It’s literally not possible to view the details about ANY product you search for, or add it to your cart from search results. I wish Costco would hire developers who know how to test app updates before pushing them out to the public. I just updated the app, and now two things don’t work. 1) when you search for an item, in my case “organic coffee” and then tap on any of the items in the results, the app does not let you view ANY information about the product. Instead, the app takes you to a screen showing holiday promotions. Yep. Completely useless. 2) if you try to provide feedback by tapping the “feedback” button on the right side of the screen, the next screen gives you the option to provide feedback about the Costco website or a warehouse, but not the app. If you select “website,” you conveniently get a completely blanks screen. Poorest appYou would think Costco is a brand new wholesaler and working out the app tweaks, but they have been around long enough. I have a Costco and Sam’s Club and Sam’s app blows away Costco by far. I mean by far. I love their scan and go which allows me to scan each product I am purchasing as I place it in my cart. Love the store, hate the appI love shopping at Costco, which makes the state of this app even more frustrating. How does a multi-billion dollar company have a mobile interface that feels 15 years old? Navigating is sluggish, the search function barely works, and I encounter "unknown errors" every time I try to check out. Stupid buggy and useless app.For some reason instead of a simple digital wallet card like other common sense retailers, I have to use the Costco app to get my membership card on my phone. But they sure don't make that easy. After downloading I logged in and then was redirected to enter my banking information because my login apparently wasn't enough. I went through that, including asking stupid questions about where I was born and then texting me two factor authentication code, thanks Royal Bank, and after handing over a whole bunch of my personal information, it finally verified me. Or not. The Costco co-op just spun and spun and spun. So I went through that whole stupid process again and it produced the same result again.
