A good way to calm my nervesI’ve always been a rainy day type person, any day could be made better by a bit of rain. Unfortunately I live in an area where it only really rains consistently a few months out of the year, and it comes with the threat of flooding and tornadoes. And I live right next to a body of water, a creek in this case. If I got my wish my house would be under water. So this little noise generator has all the benefits of rain sound without the property damage. Now if only it could replicate the scent of petrichor and make the air all foggy. Pros: - good for sleep - good for meditation - great for being at peace with myself and taming anxiety. - no property damage Cons: - doesn’t produce the scent or moist feeling on the skin that you have when you’re walking around in a real storm - wish it had an option for rain as if you were in a tent - the non rain sounds like the birds and chatter are something I don’t really enjoy, but you can turn those off. In all seriousness though, it’s a white noise generator and does that pretty well. I honestly just wish it had a few more settings. Like rain on a tent, or rain in a glass high rise. Excellent Rain Sound QualityI came across the website almost 10 years ago and I’m happy I’m able to download this as an app on the phone. At work it’s the best when using headphones to drown out noise from cubicles. Also played it during my entire 9 months of pregnancy and loved the relaxation component. The baby loves it too as he falls asleep to it. The sound quality is impressive compared to other apps. You can hear the pitter patter of the rain and it doesn’t sound like white static noise. The transition of the loop is probably it’s best feature. I am satisfied the app has adjustable sound for rain, thunder, and the birds. I also like the simplicity of the app with limited rain sounds. Love it, except the crickets aren’t cricketsThe crickets seem more like a dull roar, indistinguishable from anything insect-like. I was hoping to actually hear crickets. Otherwise I love the rain and the thunder sounds they’re very realistic,And likely are actually real. Oddly I’d like to suggest an office background. But not a TOO busy office, a quiet sort of “there’s people here” working, shuffling papers, computers clicking, distant phone ring, single rings, answered quickly, one-sided conversation as in a call center. Reason; I work from home, as a call enter agent, and I often get people asking if I work from home, and I’m not allowed to tell people that I work from home, and I’ve heard my caller say “but it’s so quiet in that office“ (which is actually my hall closet) and I have to say well I just have a good noise canceling headphones. What I’d like to have is a little bit of background noise,So that I can fake the real deal. (and not feel so alone either). The café is way too noisy for this purpose. Sleep AidIf you’re looking for an app to help kill silence, this is the app. I use this app in a variety of settings. I use it while studying, as I fall asleep, during hangouts, as I shower, to help soothe snoring. The sounds from this app have totally helped improve my mental wellness. Sometimes I’m tired of hearing music, as much as I love it, but to hear the ocean, then close my eyes and picture it. Nothing compares. This app is a great stand alone but also is compatible with any orchestra piece you’d like to hear. It adds a new dimension. I had a roommate who snores heavily and whenever I turned this app on, my friend’s snoring decreased in intensity. LoveRainy days were always my favorite. This helps me fall asleep much quicker. My two year old twins also love it. It used to take them hours to fall asleep, but now when I turn the app on, they get so excited, "yaay it's raining!" They grab their blankets and lay down and they are out within minutes! It's a miracle really. My only complaint is one I see often in the reviews, I wish it had more rain "scenes" for the price I paid. I agree with other users in that there should be a "rain hitting the window" setting. Possibly also a setting of how rain sounds when it hits the roof of your car with some light "traffic" noise. Worth every pennyThis really helps my issues with overstimulation and executive dysfunction. If listening to the rain soothes you or helps you focus on your tasks, GET THIS APP. I love the customization sliders and the volume is good (you don't have to max your volume just to hear anything). There's 4 main types, like ocean, countryside, cafe, and whatever the fourth one I don't use is. Probably just generic rain. You can add things like seagulls and waves on ocean rain, or completely mute those options, with a simple slider. Value: I think I only paid three bucks for this app? No words to describe my love for this appAs an anxiety riddled college student I often have trouble focusing on school work and falling asleep at night. I find music and television too distracting to use as background noise. This app creates the perfect background noise that I need. It's just enough that it drowns out other sounds but not so distracting that I can't get work done or fall asleep. My life just changed…I’ve been using this app for years to sleep!!! But apparently today was the first time I decided to use my sleep headphones (the kind that look like a headband) while I take a nap. A wonderful calming app!I like to sit in coffeeshops and restaurants and use my iPad. Sometimes, the surrounding noises can really distract me. This helps to both mask those noises and to calm me down so I can focus. As a bonus, it will keep playing until you stop it, even if an app would normally stop any other sounds that are playing. This came in very handy when I was trying to enjoy a few animated Kindle books with any of the three music playing apps I have, since the Kindle app totally stops any regular music players when you’re viewing a page with an animation. I’ve had this app for 12 yearsThroughout every year I have had this app installed and used on every phone I’ve had over the years-I have always had the benefit of wonderful sleep when I direly needed it. I’ve never had issues with this application since I discovered it and I’ve yet to experience any issues so far. Okay, BUT...I want to first say that I do like the app, but have a couple issues with it. First, the sound effects cannot be set to random (like how the website version normally operates) so I can either have birds constantly chirping in my ear or not at all. Second, and most importantly, the app doesn’t integrate with the iPhone’s (not sure about androids) sound UI, so if you try to pause it with a controller on your headphones, you will start playing Apple Music over the rainy mood audio (though in some ways, that could be seen as a plus for some people). Rainy Mood = Best MoodI've used Rainy Mood for as long as I can remember and I really love the recent sound additions. Rainy Mood lulls me to sleep every night and helps me stay asleep, which is no easy feat considering that I deal with frequent bouts of insomnia. Great Sound!!I work in a medical office and get here a few hours before anyone else in the morning. I do all my admin work in the dark work candles and this app running, no lie! There’s something soothing about soft rain and thunder in the morning. My only complaint is that the app only runs in portrait mode, and not landscape. Tweaks please :)I seriously love rainy mood. I use it all the time and I wouldn’t want to go to sleep without it. I even use it a lot during the day. Two things I’d like to request if possible: bigger volume range. I find that when I listen to music with the app, the rain is very often inaudible even with the rain volume set to maximum. What happened to Airplay?I don’t use this app often, but in the past I used Airplay to send the rainy mood audio to my Apple TV > Receiver > bedroom speakers. The airplay functionality has changed so that now I can only do screen mirroring, which essentially results in the same audio output but absolutely kills my battery and is less convenient than Airplay because it prevents me from having other content displaying on my iPad while playing rainy mood through the speakers. Very helpful not customizable enoughI use this for coping with panic attacks and autistic meltdowns. You should be able to make custom mixes of all the sound, and shut unwanted sounds off entirely, not just make them very quiet. In Rainy Mood Cafe, the rain sound is perfect. The cafe rain is the best because what I need is the sound of rain pounding on a roof, but I can’t use it because the barista, crowd, and traffic noise distresses me even at its quietest. Rainy Mood Ocean does have loud enough rain - I would love loud rain with background waves but the rain can’t get loud enough to balance right. Rainy Mood Classic just has weird background white noise that bugs me. I’m using Rainy Mood Countryside with crickets turned all the way down because it’s the closest to what I need but it’s still not ideal. Please make a Rainy Mood Custom, option silencing unhelpful sounds, and increase the potential volume differential between sounds!.Black PlaydohVersion: 2.4
