Nintendo Music App Comments & Reviews

Nintendo Music Positive Reviews

Surprisingly GoodKnowing Nintendo’s copyright habits and overall how they handle their music online, I expected this app to be a cheap excuse as ‘now there’s a place to officially listen to our music.’ But after using the app and finding my way through it, it’s actually pretty good and acts just as any other music app would. I found it very intuitive to use and simple to understand. There is the major drawback of putting this service behind the paywall of Nintendo Switch Online, but I honestly think this is the best way to handle an app like this, especially knowing Nintendo would likely not put any ads anywhere. There’s also the fact that there’s only a handful of game soundtracks currently available, but as more are added, I’m sure it will get even better. Overall, there’s a lot of stuff done right here and even more potential for the future. Of course I would prefer that Nintendo distribute their music to other platforms to make everything easier, but this app manages to make it work just fine..Version: 1.0.0

Good, needs credit and more tracksI can’t say I am disappointed in this app as a whole. The playback quality is great and there are lots of settings that are innovative since Nintendo is the first game company to have a streaming service for their games’ music. For example, the loop and no spoiler settings. These are great for study sessions and for games you haven’t finished yet. However, there are some issues. I’m slightly disappointed with the fact that you have to have NOS to use the service. But frankly, it isn’t a big problem for me considering that I use the NOS anyway. Also, the cost is low compared to other platforms. I know 20 bucks a year can be a lot but if you compare it to other companies’ charges it is practically nothing. Anyway, I am very angry that you didn’t include the composers and musicians who made the music. What’s the point of having a track information area if it just has the name of the game it’s from and copyright Nintendo? I am also shocked at the low number of games. There are so many good music and good games you made with 0 MUSIC on the platform you made just for your games’ music. Also, if your tactic here is to advertise new games, why don’t you include new games? The most recent game (Wonder) you have on the service released more than a year ago now. Why won’t you include Jamboree and Echoes of Wisdom? Good, but you need to add more games and surely give the musicians and composers credit for writing a good song..Version: 1.0.2

A great way to listen to VGMI am pleasantly surprised by this app. It might sound silly to have an entire app for music when plenty of others exist, but the app’s features are well made and actually work well with the kind of music on offer. Since video game music is meant to repeat, the app offers the ability to extend tracks instead of simply looping to the beginning. That sounds minor, but is honestly feels great, and I use it a lot. The sound quality is very good, every instrument is audible, and the chiptune music is crisp without sounding distorted. All of the features you would expect such as playlists, shuffle, recommendations, and downloading is present. Logging in is easy too, since once you link your Nintendo account, the app doesn’t make you sign in every time. There aren’t any ads either. While it’s true that their isn’t a lot of games at launch, it’s worth noting that the annual price is significantly lower than similar services. I am confident that time will be very kind to the library. The only downside is the lack of CarPlay compatibility, but if you don’t listen to music while driving, that won’t matter too much. Overall, I am very impressed with the app, and I recommend it, as it does justice for the OSTs it hosts..Version: 1.0.0

A must have for Nintendo fans who’ve been playing for a while! This music app has been phenomenal and I honestly find it being more of my go to than any other music app out there. Since launch, they’ve added A LOT of music from so many games so I’m not too worried about burning out on the music anytime soon! One of the main things I like is they have playlists that are regularly curated to help keep things feeling fresh and different. For example, we just had a lot of snow where I’m from and I was able to listen to a playlist that’s specifically music from snow levels of various games! I also like listening to their Good Night playlist as I’m getting ready for bed. Plus, for me, when I’m listening to music I generally just want it for some background music to listen to while I do other things. That’s literally what the majority of video game music is for, so this has truly been perfect for me! If you’re already paying for the Nintendo membership then it’s definitely something you should check out. Honestly, with as cheap as the Nintendo online membership is, if you’ve been thinking of signing up this might be what makes it worth it for you!.Version: 1.0.3

Fine app, meh serviceThe app itself works great and is easy to navigate, but there are two major issues. The first is the lack of songwriter credits, which is absolutely astounding. Every game in the catalog has its composers mentioned in the credits of their games or elsewhere. It is a disservice to the artists to not credit them next to their music like on any other platform. Nintendo has the credits; there's no reason they can't be shown here. The second issue is the game library; there's an incredibly small selection of games at launch. I'm very glad to see them pulling music from all areas of their history, like Wii system music and two versions of Metroid for different systems, but so many iconic songs and games are missing for no good reason. We don't know the update release schedule yet, but the drip-feed approach is completely unnecessary here. There is no reason there can't be more soundtracks at once, but for some reason we have to wait to get more. And of course, your favorite game isn't guaranteed to be added. all of this is to say that i want t rhythm heaven music please nintendo please please.Version: 1.0.0

Great AppThis is a great app! Love how I can listen to exclusive Nintendo music on a official app as well as being able to customize my music. I love how I can close the app and it stays playing I definitely will keep this app! However there is one thing I want… Dear Nintendo Co. My name is Alex and I would like to request The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom music to be included within your app as it has some of my favorite songs. I also would like to give an idea, I feel it would be beneficial for the app to be able to connect to Nintendo Alarmo as a way to wirelessly change the alarms as well as be able to have a wider range of songs on the Alarmo Clock. I feel with this feature it would encourage people to create their own playlist schedules so that they have a different sound for each day as well as be able to have a nice way to wind down and listen to music at the end of the day. These are my recommendations and I hope that you please consider them. Thank you, -Sincerely Alex Melone..Version: 1.0.0

Great app but lacking somethingThis is a really good app for listening to your favourite Nintendo Tracks. I have been using it since it released and have no regrets. It has been wonderful to use and the UI is easy to use and very straightforward. However there are some issues with bugs such as not being able to download a song without favouriting it and vice versa. Mastering on some songs is weird. It took me a while to realize that the “top tracks” that pop up when you click on the game is not the full track list from that game; the full list can be hard to find if you don’t know to look for it. More game soundtracks being added in the future would be great, like Pokemon Sword and Shield or other Pokemon games and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It is a great app but feels like it’s missing something; it could be the limited choice of games. An option to view lyrics for some songs would be good, but not required to make a good app. 4/5 in total..Version: 1.0.2

Could’ve been amazingI was excited for a way to listen to Nintendo music that wasn’t going to get taken down, and in some respects, it’s a really good app! The song extension is easily the best thing this app can do for video game music, and the songs have thumbnails for the levels/menus they appear, which I also appreciate. Where this app loses me is how there’s BASICALLY NOTHING to listen to. I can’t explain how unfathomably stupid it was for them to launch a music streaming service with 22 games out of your VAST back catalogue of incredible soundtracks. Not to mention, they don’t credit the composers? It’s probably still worth using because of K.K. Slider’s discography, Splatoon, Mario Galaxy, and any others that interest you when they add them. Whatever, it’s a phenomenal idea for an app brought down by just not having most if not all of Nintendo’s back catalogue on there. Sure that sounds like a lot to ask, but Nintendo’s a multi billion dollar company with the resources to make a streaming service, I’m sure they would’ve found some way to make it work if they were given the time..Version: 1.0.2

Surprisingly phenomenalI was not expecting this to be so good, but it is actually, genuinely worth the price of admission. The most important feature this app offers— one that as far as I can tell is completely exclusive to this platform— is “extended mode,” the ability to turn certain songs into one of those “eight hours of hyrule/kk slider/splatoon” videos at the press of a button. Video game music is at its best when it’s adaptive, and being able to extend a song to fit the length of a study session or exercise routine is just so cool. The app itself is responsive, well designed, with cohesive and easily readable UI. The curated playlists go beyond just “this game’s soundtrack” or franchise playlists, also offering playlists based on moods or activities. I was pleasantly surprised to find console-specific music as well; we don’t just get the Wii Sports soundtrack, but the Wii menu music as well. I hope they add more soundtracks soon..Version: 1.0.2

Functional but Flawed AppI downloaded the Nintendo Music app immediately after I saw that it was released, because I think it’s novel that there is an official way to listen to Nintendo tracks now. Would I prefer that these tracks would be available on other music streaming services? Yes, and it surely would make Nintendo more money, but for now I will stop digging into that rabbit-hole. While the selection is limited in this app, I am fine waiting for more releases. What I am not fine with is the lack of compatibility with CarPlay, as well as the music being treated as a video overlay rather than a music track. I tried going onto a website with video content being a small factor, but the music stopped because the autoplay on the website had begun without audio, thus putting the website video as the priority over the music I was listening to. If this can be resolved at all, that would be very appreciated..Version: 1.0.0

A Great StartI’ve been a fan of Nintendo’s music ever since I first played a Nintendo game when I was a child. I was always sad that there was no legal way to stream their music so when this app was announced, I was jumping with excitement. This first release has an impressive feature set: the ability to extend songs as well as hide music from games to avoid spoilers are both genius ideas that I haven’t seen implemented in any other app. It also has common features like downloading songs for offline playback and also background listening. I took off 2 stars because the catalog of available soundtracks is currently very small and I also would like to see them credit the composers for each song. I also would like to see official CarPlay support as well as an Apple Watch app so that I can stream songs from my Watch without needing to have my phone on me. But besides those things, this is a big step in the right direction and I’m excited to see what Nintendo does with this service in the future..Version: 1.0.0

Works wonderfully. Doesn’t list the composers behind the tracks.I’ve always hoped for an app with all of the Nintendo music of my childhood, and it’s now here! Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Donkey Kong Country, and many more, so there is already a great selection. One caveat, however, being that I was really excited to learn about the composers who made my favorite songs, and see what other songs in the Nintendoverse they made. Instead, just the games are listed. Being able to see the composers who made these incredible songs and being able to follow them so we get notified on new songs they composed for would be AMAZING! As a musician myself (who is also trying to get into the industry), not being credited on songs I made would feel terrible. Here’s to hoping this gets updated soon to include the composers and musicians behind my favorite video game music. If this were added I would spend way more time in the app, but right now it’s just a gimmick instead of an actual song streaming service..Version: 1.0.2

Only 10 seconds of excitementThe sign in button doesn’t work. I’ll probably change my review if it starts working but if it doesn’t oh well. I’m a huge Nintendo fan and I really love thier music but this isn’t helping them. hopefully in about ten minutes after writing this review I’ll be listening to jump up super star however I highly doubt it considering the 700 times I’ve pushed the sign in button. *thirty minutes later* It’s time to jump up in the air!!!! Ahem. Anyway so it finally worked and I have some thoughts. First of all, where is everything? There’s like nothing there. And what is there is good but I have to select pick the good things. A few requests would be off the hook from splatoon having their own section and not just being roped in with damp socks, splatoon grand festival music, that one live performance of anarchy rainbow with both deep cut and off the hook, and tears of the kingdom music. Would really appreciate it if you considered this, have a great day to whoever’s reading this..Version: 1.0.2

High hopesI’m so happy that Nintendo is finally making their music accessible after years of fan demand. There’s definitely great soundtracks to choose from as of now such as Mario Galaxy and Breath of the Wild, but there is certainly a want for more as there are only a little more than 20 available soundtracks at the moment. It’s understandable that putting these tracks on streaming services can take some time, but I pray that new additions won’t take quite as long as additions to the NSO games catalogue. Additionally, there are plenty of things I’m already loving such as the curated themed playlists, extending the duration of songs up to 60 minutes, and little things like separating Splatoon songs by the in-universe artists. I hope we can get more great soundtracks soon like the music of David Wise in the other Donkey Kong Country installments, the iconic sound of Pokémon, and the beautiful and exciting music of Xenoblade..Version: 1.0.0

Really great, but one big issueThe sound quality is practically perfect, and the categorization being done with the songs is really cool. Being able to extend tracks is awesome, and the spoiler prevention feature will probably come in handy as newer games get added. The starting selection is small, but I can look past that because of all the things I just mentioned, which probably increase the amount of work needed to add each song. However, one big thing that bothers me is that none of the songs list who composed/arranged them. This is such basic standard information that every other music streaming app has, and it’s downright insulting to the people who worked on the music that it’s not here in this app. Why bother having a “Track Information” button that just lists the song name and “(c) Nintendo”? Your games have credits, so why not the music?.Version: 1.0.0

Good Start, but a couple issuesGlad to see Nintendo finally stepping into the music game, instead of having to rely on additional publishers or booting up prior games to listen to their music. - Big fan of having a spoiler free option, as well as a way of naturally looping a track! - That being said, I’m only gonna give it 4 stars for literally one reason: The Game Catalog is a bit short (for now). - I’m sure it will get updated with more, but at the time of writing this, it’s missing quite a noticeable number of tracks, especially non-Switch tracks. - To demonstrate, I’ve only found (in terms of Wii titles) the Wii menu themes and Mario Galaxy. …and that’s it. - Can’t say I’m surprised by this. If it updates frequently, I’ll probably bump it to 5 stars, but for now, 4 is what I’ll start with. - One last concern for many of you might be Switch Online being required. Yes… that’s a little annoying. At the least though, there’s no ads. Something you would normally have to pay for on all other music apps. - They’re at least making an existing product better. Plus I’m tired of having to constantly hear criticism of their online service. (Although I would not be surprised if they made another Switch Online presentation video again, lol) - Welp… that’s my review XD.Version: 1.0.0

Decent; but still a ways to goSo excited to see where this goes! As of now things are rough; that’s to be expected. I feel like my biggest complaints are the lack of selection to start with; They definitely could’ve thrown in a little bit more, say 30 games or so. And not having every song, while understandable, is a little disappointing. What’s more upsetting is none of the composers who wrote these beautiful songs are credited for their work here! That should be a bare minimum. Less important critiques are that the app is a little bland feeling currently; could use a bit more Nintendo charm. And last, it takes a little while for some songs to load; hopefully they can fix that in a later update. But as far as the app as a whole goes; it’s awesome to have a hub for Nintendo music and has nearly every feature you could ask for and then some! Hopefully it continues to improve as time goes on..Version: 1.0.0

An Honest OpinionThis has been something Nintendo fans, such as myself, have been wanting for ages and having it is wonderful. If you’re anything like me and grew up listening almost exclusively to video game music, this is nothing but a lovely blast from the past and slowly is being more used than my actual regular music app! It’s got great quality audio and even includes music from cutscenes which was a nice surprise. All around it’s a wonderful app. However, The lack of selection is what everyone in this comment section is saying, and I for one agree. Yes we have more major tracks added now, but we still need more. Even the lack of Switch Titles is shocking to me. It’s just a bit lacking in the titles department. On top of that it’s a bit hard making playlists and such and not being able to send them to my friends who don’t have Nintendo Online. That’s sad as well. It feels like a wonderful deal for those who have online but unfair to those who don’t. I for one still need titles like Splatoon, Tomodachi Life, Animal Crossing New Leaf, Mario Kart Wii, DS built in console Music, Miitopia, and other Wii titles like Wii Party, Wii Play, and such to be fully happy. However since the addition of Splatoon 2 I have very content. 8/10 app Nintendo but you can do better..Version: 1.0.2

Great app to use. This is a great app to use. I love video game music and have for a number of years. Sometimes getting soundtracks officially from websites can be hard to do. So this is the next best thing. Yes I’ve had to label some buttons so that my speech could read them but that’s OK. I wish that you didn’t have to have a Nintendo membership to use this app but it is what it is. Hopefully Nintendo will change this. I can’t really complain much about this. There’s maybe one drawback and it’s very small. When you’re done shuffling a playlist, it would be nice if the playlist would repeat itself so that way you don’t have to go back and hit the play button again to shuffle. If there is a way to do this, maybe somebody can answer this review and tell me how to do it..Version: 1.0.3

Great with flawsThe app is very well designed with a layout that seems to take a lot from Apple Music (not a bad thing) and has very good audio quality. However there is a slight stability issue where sometimes when using headphones the app will pause the music and not respond to any input trying to unpause it. There are also no creator credits or profiles which is a huge shame not only for accreditation but also because it’d be very nice to be able to listen to other songs made by an artist who’s made a song you like. The lineup is also really small right now which is a shame. This isn’t an app that needs a slow drip feed to keep a user base, please just release more music and not have us waiting forever like other switch online apps!!!.Version: 1.0.0

FINALLY!!! Been waiting for 6 months, so tysm!!!I have been constantly having to use Apple Music to listen to people trying to recreate the music. My only problem is sometimes that you’ve already said you would fix over time, which is the limited tracks. Simply add SMRPG songs, Pokemon Sword/Shield songs, and the tracks from that first 4 Animal Crossings and I’m completely set. Other than the fact different versions of these songs are also interesting to listen to, I will probably never go back to using the recreations. Tysm for making this app. It must have taken a lot of work to take this long to release(ACNH has over 400 tracks alone). So THANK YOU!!!!!!!! Added note:both 5:00 snowy in ACNH are not extended playback as well as most Pokemon scarlet/violet music.Version: 1.0.3

This is awesomeI’ve been such a fan of Nintendo since I was a kid they’re my favorite gaming company and to be able to have access to listen to so many games that I have a lot of nostalgia for is so cool! Some people on here have been complaining that they tied it to their Nintendo online service but it’s very affordable at $20 a year for all you get And I don’t think it would’ve been worth it for them to create an entire app that functions well and is bug free if they made no money off of it so I think this is a great trade-off $20 a year for Nintendo online was something I was already paying for and they didn’t even increase the price or tie it to the more expensive Nintendo online subscription so I think it’s an incredible value and so cool!.Version: 1.0.3

Great, but lackingTLDR: nice to listen to game music but needs more content and fine tuning. Also give credit to creators. This is an amazing idea, giving an official way to listen to Nintendo music along with being able to loop it to make some song continue past its 1-2 minute base runtime. That being said, as of day two, the app feels lacking in a lot of content, being limited mostly to games that had official album releases but it probably should have started with some more. Twilight princess, wind waker, Metroid dread, kid Icarus: uprising, three houses, any of the Mario and Luigi series. A ton of great music just isn’t on the app yet and that going to be a turn off for some people. Granted this is early and more music will hopefully be added as time goes on. On top that there are lighter issues I have with the app. Recently played only links to albums as opposed to the songs, composers aren’t credited (this is a large issue), and music tends to freeze up or just not play after selecting a new song or even unpausing. Again this is the first full day of release for the app so I have complete faith the they will improve the service in time. This entire app allows me to listen to the sound tracks of some of my favorite games and I can’t wait to listen to more!.Version: 1.0.0

Where are the composers? The Nintendo Music app works well, and it's nice to finally have an official way to listen to Nintendo music. I was pleasantly surprised to see all the Nintendo-created playlists for different moods, game themes, and even characters. However, the two things that disappointed me the most are the small selection of soundtracks and the complete lack of composer information tied to the music! It's baffling to me to not highlight who worked on these tracks in an app dedicated to celebrating Nintendo music, as this is a feature on many music streaming apps. I'd love to know the creative force behind some of my favorite songs. There's even an option to view track info, but it only shows you the game title and Nintendo's copyright! I hope Nintendo will provide an update that adds game composers, because the lack of them is disheartening..Version: 1.0.0

A great startFinally, Nintendo made their music available to stream! I was so excited when this was announced. I love the feature that lets you extend a track up to an hour; that’s brilliant. I also appreciate the option to turn off songs that will give you game spoilers! I just have a couple issues with the app: first, the song writers and voice actors should to be credited. I want to see names like Koji Kondo and Alice Peralta in the song descriptions, because they absolutely deserve it! Second, there are barely any songs currently available! There’s only music from two Zelda games, half of one Splatoon game, one Mariokart game, etc. I know they said they would be adding more music, but I hope it’s sooner than later, cause there’s a lot missing that I want to listen to!.Version: 1.0.0

Great but a few thingsFirstly, I love how we have a place to hear our favorite game songs with great quality. The app is visually pleasing and easy to navigate. As another reviewer pointed out, there is no composer/musician credits. A game’s music is just as important as a game’s gameplay. Would anyone really find a game with awful and gyrating music as rememberable and enjoyable as one with amazing music? Such amazing composers deserve to be credited for their contributions! Another thing I believe this app can benefit from is adding lyrics so songs with singing. For example: Jump up, super star! Adding lyrics can be a great benefit, because it allows your fans to sing along to their favorite songs. I look forward to additional music being added. Especially from Princess Peach: Showtime! 👀.Version: 1.0.3

Great Idea, please give credit to composers and musiciansI am really glad Nintendo finally decided to make this a thing. I really like the formatting of the app and its ease of use. I think for people without a Nintendo Online subscription, it would be helpful to include that it is required to have that subscription to use this (even though most people who download will most likely have a membership already). My biggest critique is that no credit is given towards the composers or artists who made the tracks. That is a very big deal and they need to be credited. I’m kind of blown away by that not being just a given while designing it. Other than this very unfortunate issue, I do really like how the app works. Great music choices on here, and the promise of new additions in the future is great. But please credit the artists..Version: 1.0.0

Great Idea, Will Become Better with TimeIt seems like someone at Nintendo finally has a pulse on extended fan products, and I love to see it. Much thought has gone into this app, and there’s a decent depth of options. There’s two things that would make it a phenomenal app (for me) though: more varied theme playlists like water, dancing, and study music, and a deeper collection of music. I would give anything to hear the Pokemon ranger and pokepark soundtracks again, outside of just replaying the games to experience all of it again. I understand that you want to push the newer games, but I think the people that are involved as far as to have a music app are ones that have been around longer and want some older tracks you can’t easily find elsewhere..Version: 1.0.0

2 months without any new music yetThe app has been released for over two months at this point and no additional music has been added yet since the initial release of the app, thus the three star review at this time. I like the options that are available, especially the option to loop certain songs. But until they add additional songs, the app is just too basic. I hope Nintendo decides to add many more games, also hoping they can release 3rd party releases if they can strike deals with major players like Square Enix, Capcom, Konami, and more. Then with current music, for example "Ocarina of Time", they should also include additional tracks such as the original Fire Temple theme. Once the app is improved a lot more with more music added on a more timely basis, the app will deserve a better review..Version: 1.0.3

THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS!!!I have always thought they should make a Nintendo music thing like this. And then they finally did! I downloaded it straight away, and was able to download my favorites, such as Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart 8, Zelda, both breath of the wild and ocarina of time! Mario odyssey, and one of my favorites, Animal Crossing!! If I could, this app would be rated 4 and a HALF. Only because of some unfortunate bugs( which I’m sure will be fixed eventually) but that is why it has to be 4 and a half. The bugs that I noticed was that if you stay on looking at all the songs for a while, the app will overload, and will act glitchy and possibly kick you out. It also delays a little. One last thing, Nintendo, PLEASE add Zelda Tears of the kingdom and Pokémon Arceus. Thank you..Version: 1.0.3

I know you’re better Nintendo. So I downloaded this app, and then realized it wasn’t compatible with iPad 😕. The app needs tracks from games like TOTK (I get you’re still selling the soundtrack but we are paying 💰 for your online sub). THANK YOU SO MUCH for adding Splatoon 2! I assume a lot of people will be as happy as me. Composers should be credited, rather than a depressing ©️ Nintendo that can only be found by searching for it. Please add a sleep timer 😴 as well, that would be great for almost everyone. Even with all the issues, I have to say it’s a great app… Songs take up minimal space 😀 (which is nice on an iPad). Being able to finally listen to all the Nintendo music from my device 📱 is amazing, and the separate app was a good decision. Just please make it better for iPad users 🙏. I hope to bump up my review!.Version: 1.0.2

Amazing!I love this app so much! There are so many songs that I have been wanting to listen to, especially from the Splatoon series. I only have a couple gripes however, I am hoping that more music will be added, such as adding the rest of Off The Hook, Squid Sisters, and Deep Cut songs! The sorting system is easy to navigate by being cut up by game, so it’ll be easy for a kid to navigate as well. The app lets you jump right in, and make your own playlists, as well as suggest popular songs. I’m hoping as Nintendo adds more that the series will be a group, then split into separate game, like say adding more Mario or legend of Zelda game soundtracks. So far this is an incredible development from Nintendo that I was unaware was even in development!.Version: 1.0.0

Really Great StartThe app has only been out for about six hours at the time of this review, so obviously I don’t expect perfection but technically speaking this app works really well and has a really smooth UI. Audio quality is also great. So far there’s only about 20 soundtracks available, but we’ll see how it shapes up when it comes to frequency of new soundtrack additions. Only real complaints so far is a lack of credits to composers/performers. Being able to filter by certain composers would be a great addition that could help people listen to songs that they wouldn’t have considered otherwise. Plus, it would be nice to give credit to the great people who made these songs..Version: 1.0.0

Would give 5 stars but missing the following USA titles only gamesNes: Mario Bros 3, Star Tropic, Crystalis, Tetris, Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland snes: Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest, Final Fantasy 2/4, Final Fantasy 3/5, Mario Paint, Super Mario World, Mario Is Missing, Mario Kart, Zoop, Doom, Illusions Of Gaia, Aquanoid, Earthbound, Bubsy 1 & 2, Yoshi’s Cookie, Tetris Attack, Toy Story, The Lion King, Aladdin… n64: Diddy Kong Racing, Quest 64, Donkey Kong 64, Pokémon Stadium 1 & 2, Pokémon Snap, Glover, Mega Man Legends, Bomberman Hero, Bomberman World, Mischief Maker, Legend of the Mystical Ninja: Starring Goemon, The New Tetris, Mickey’s Magical Tetris, Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, Super Mario 64, Harvest Moon 64, Super Smash Bros… gb: Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow/Green, Tetris, Legend Of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, gbc: Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal, Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages/Seasons, Tetris Attack, gba: Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/FireRed/LeafGreen, Tetris World, Harvest Moon: (More) Friends of Mineral Town, Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap, gc: Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Smash Bros Melee, Pikmin 1 & 2, Pokémon Coliseum, Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, Mario Kart Doubledash, Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventure, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Once ALL of these titles are added, Then I would give this app a 5 Star Rating only… also ADD ALL these titles to the Nintendo Switch Online Apps… (including those for the GameCube).Version: 1.0.1

Amazing, one suggestionI love this app. It’s amazing concept, amazing app, stuff like that. I have one problem and I mean it’s not so much of a problem or a complaint as a minor suggestion. The one thing I would like to see in this app is being able to search in a playlist. Other than that and needing an online membership, it’s amazing. Also, I really hope to see more music from more games. The current selection is a bit lacking. However, I do understand that this app is pretty new and will be updated with more music eventually. Again, if you love video game music (and happen to have a Nintendo online membership…) this app is perfect.Version: 1.0.3

Please add extended listen for playlistsLove the app, love having one place for all the Nintendo music, and cannot wait for them to add more in the future. Hope GameCube gets some love. The ONLY issue I have with it is the feature for extended listening on the songs. You can only selected it on a song-by-song basis. If there’s a playlist you want to listen to on an extended timeframe, perfect example the Animal Crossing hourly music, you can’t just set it and forget it you have to pick extended listening for every individual song as it comes on. Would be GREAT to be able to turn on extended listening for all songs or for an entire playlist, not just one at a time. Other than that, great job Nintendo.Version: 1.0.2

Great app but slow library buildingI’ve been using the app since it was announced and its features and systems are pretty well executed. For me, it’s an enjoyable way to listen to Nintendo’s music. At this point, my only complaint is how slow updating the music library is. They’re currently introducing a new game OST once a week, which to put it into perspective, is 52 games a year if they’re consistent. Given how massive Nintendo’s game library is, that’s not. They did release 3 games once and then they’ve done one game a week up to now. I would appreciate if more games were released each week so the library can grow faster and people can listen to the games they want to sooner..Version: 1.0.2

Needs more fasterAbout a month since release and we’ve received minimal updates . Yes, once a week is great , but not for what’s being dropped. The last 3 weeks have all been around 30 minutes worth of tracks from games that quite frankly feel like bottom of the barrel . Brain age? F-zero x? Wii sports? These are games that have some good tracks, but aren’t enough. I finished the app within the first week or so and now there is nothing more to explore. I enjoy the idea and love access to what’s there… but it’s gotten old fast. Please consider dropping either 2-3 games a week or more substantial additions. This problem won’t be as bad in a year when there are 52 extra games to go through, but at that rate, why release the app at all? It wasn’t ready..Version: 1.0.2

Pretty good but lacklusterIm a die hard Nintendo fan and when i heard that this was real i was excited. I them downloaded the app to see what it was like and i also watched the trailer to see what songs they had, it was wayy more in the trailer but in reality its way less. I get that you guys have to work on your new console and all but you guys could’ve Atleast put more songs on it when it released. And thats not my actual complaint, its the fact you guys ONLY add a single game soundtrack ONCE A WEEK, YES ONLY ONE! You can add atleast two or three soundtracks a week at different times or something, but this will take absolutely forever to get songs we want..Version: 1.0.1

I love it!I’ve been wanting for so long to have a place to listen to Nintendo music legally. I’ve always been open to the idea of paying for it, and I am ever so grateful that this app is a thing now. Because of this, I may now use my membership to gain access to the current libraries and more to come in the future! I am truly thankful for this. I love video game music, especially Zelda music. Don’t worry about pacing of the release, though… I would be even happier if more Zelda music was present and encourage you to add what you can, but what we have so far is more than I ever imagined we would’ve gotten! Thank you, Nintendo. May the goddess smile upon you..Version: 1.0.1

Well madeThis is a very well made music app all around. From having the spoiler prevention to pre-made playlists for certain moods, it certainly covers all the bases. I’m mainly a fan of all the little jingles from games being including such as finding a Korok in breath of the wild. The ability to extend tracks is also a huge plus, I just wish it applied to all main themes, it’s very evident it isn’t with the opening theme of The Legend of Zelda The Ocarina of Time. The only downside I can really see is the it’s only available to Nintendo online members but I can’t say that doesn’t make sense. Looking forward to more game tracks to be available in the future!.Version: 1.0.0

Awesome App, Very Minor FlawsI love finally being able to get high quality, official Nintendo soundtracks, the best original music in video games if you ask me. My only gripes are the small (and mostly modern) collection; and some controls, such as reordering songs in the queue, are a little clunky. I’m sure both of these will get better with time, the app’s been out for less than a week. I also agree that the composers and musicians behind the songs should be credited for their incredible work. I know that no one cares or asked, but my recommendations for soundtracks to add are Super Mario Sunshine, F-Zero X, the Wii U’s menu and channel music, and the GameCube’s menu music..Version: 1.0.0

Excellent app and something I’ve wanted for years! This app is seriously something I’ve been wanting for a while and now it came true! I can now listen to Mario music and more on the go anywhere. Only thing is, please keep adding more music and tracks from other Nintendo games like the Mario and Luigi series (including Brothership when it comes out), and Super Mario Bros Wonder, maybe more GameCube games with tracks like Super Monkey Ball, and of course, who could forget more Pokemon games that released throughout the years. So please keep updating this with more music, the possibilities are endless 😊😊😊😊 This app automatically gets 10/10 or 5 stars 😃😃😃😃I love it!!.Version: 1.0.0

Finally! An official way to listen to Nintendo Music! But it's stuck in a separate app...I really, really want to like Nintendo's new music app. I love the music featured in their games, and the starting lineup of games to pick from are strong. They've even got some cool features like being able to extend any song up to an hour! Unfortunately, the fact that Nintendo has segregated its music to a different app hurts my enjoyment of it significantly. I want to listen to Nintendo music ALONGSIDE everything on Apple Music, not pick one or the other. I'm really glad they're giving us an official way to listen to their music without resorting to fan uploads or buying overpriced imports from Japan, but it looks like I'll be sticking to those methods, since I can listen to those with iTunes..Version: 1.0.0

A good peripheral for your Nintendo subscriptionI use this app far more than I thought I would. I am an avid listener to video game music and this app scratches that itch. If you already have a Nintendo subscription this is a great addition to have. I would not however create a Nintendo account and pay a subscription solely for access to this app, but if you already have one, what a great perk! The library is still a bit sparse given the mountain of music Nintendo has at their disposal so hopefully they expand that as time goes on. That being said some classic N64 titles are featured in the current library. Overall, I’m pleased and look forward to an expanded library..Version: 1.0.1

Request for extend track settingsHey nintendo music team member! i’m loving this app so far, the ability to listen to all my favorite soundtracks in HQ is amazing. i’m hoping you guys could add a feature to extend all eligible tracks in a playlist at the push of a button, as it seems like you have to extend each one manually every time a new track plays. this would be super useful when creating a sleepy time playlist, instead of compiling a bunch of tracks and having to manually extend each of them, imagine if you could set each extendable track to your desired time right from the playlist edit menu!.Version: 1.0.0

Ok start, but needs more songsTL;DR If you already have NSO, download it. If you don’t have NSO, I don’t think this app alone will convince you to get it. I already had Nintendo switch online, so I this app was basically free for me. But the $20/yr price for a single membership isn’t worth it for just this app alone. I think the standard NSO package is a good deal with online play, nes/snes/gameboy/gameboy color emulators, and the digital game vouchers. Adding this music service is a nice bonus. This app has some great features built in. Spoiler prevention is nice, and having some pre-made playlists is a nice touch. On the songs it’s available for, the looping works great. Right now the list of songs is pretty barebones, with songs from just over 20 games. Nintendo has said more songs will be added down the line, but still, this is sad. None of the composers are given credit in the app; the track information for each song just includes the name of the song, the game it’s from, and copyright information. Hopefully this is fixed soon. As a Splatoon fan, it’s nice that the Splatoon 3 songs have playlists for each in-universe artist, which is a nice touch..Version: 1.0.0

Finally, but keep goingI am so thankful Nintendo is giving us a legitimate way to listen to their music. While I’m mildly disappointed I can’t add it to my traditional music apps to mix in with other music, having it included with my Switch Online subscription makes this less painful of an option. Two operation gripes: No CarPlay interface. I mostly listen to music in the car and annoyed I have to grab for my phone to start a playlist or change. Also, no game or artist name shows in the Player controls in iOS, just the track title, making it annoying to switch back to the app if I’m not familiar with this track to get more info..Version: 1.0.0

Great video game music app! This app is a pretty awesome bonus for Nintendo Switch Online users. I've already used it to blast Splatoon 3 Turf War music in my car on my way to work, so thank you for that! There are also no ads, and almost every track has its own screenshot depicting the scene from the game it plays in! I do wish you could extend music from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, however. In the future, I would absolutely love to see music from Splatoon 3 Side Order, Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, and Pokemon Sword and Shield! It would be great to see artist and composer credits for each track as well so I can really appreciate them!!.Version: 1.0.0

CreditPlease credit the composers behind our childhoods..Version: 1.0.1

Amazing AppAs a very big Nintendo fan, all of the features of this app easily beat any other service that plays Nintendo music. You can extend timers which is one of my favourite features, it shows that the developers at Nintendo really put effort into this and cared about the product. The app runs smoothly, and also is very easy to use..Version: 1.0.0

This is so cool but…This app is such a cool idea and being tied to the cheaper online subscription, odds are you will have access to it but the only reason I am giving it 4 out of 5 is that on my iPhone 15, there is an issue with draining the battery quicker than I would expect compared to Spotify.Version: 1.0.3

Barely any gamesI am happy that Nintendo made an official way to listen to their music, but it is almost empty. Imagine you saw this app and you got it. Now, let’s say you are a fan of super paper Mario on the Wii and you were excited to finally be able to listen to the flipside music for an hour legally. You go through the games and… the library is almost empty. It’s sad but then you decide you still want to listen to Flipside for an hour, so you go to YouTube to search for a 1 hour loop but Nintendo does not like their songs anywhere. So where will you listen to it?.Version: 1.0.0

New game musicSuper Mario World.Version: 1.0.3

Good in concept, needs some workI think that the features provided are great! However, the app fails in 2 major ways: -Composers are not credited. It shouldn’t take much effort to include the name of the composers. You even have a space reserved for it, but it just says “Nintendo”, which isn’t useful at all. If you’re using to this app, you already know it’s Nintendo. -Music is being rolled out too slow. At only one soundtrack a week, it’s going to take forever for the entire catalogue to be released. At the very least, soundtracks of new game releases could automatically be included in addition to the one a week. There is very little reason to listen to Nintendo music via the app and not just through unofficial uploads on YouTube or other platforms. The music is actually available there, for one. And, these uploads almost always credit the composers and performers who created the piece. Not to mention, you can add it to playlists with other music and not be restricted to Nintendo only. It’s sad, because the app itself isn’t bad at all, it’s just brought down by weird decisions that harm the user experience..Version: 1.0.3

I like a lot!Amazing! This is way better than I expected. Any chance you can make a version that better fits iPads. Thanks Nintendo!.Version: 1.0.3

I’m a really big Splatoon fan. And Pokémon. But I was wondering where side order and Off the Hook music was. Maybe some Grand Festival music too? And looking forward to the past Splatoon games too. Pls add them! 🩷💚 🩷🩵 💙💛❤️ I have one more thing to say. SPLATOON. SIDE. ORDER..Version: 1.0.3

Show some love for GameCube and GBAI love that the music selection has been getting regular updates, but the music from GameCube and Gameboy Advance is severely lacking. There’s no shortage of great soundtracks that need to be added, including but not limited to: Super Mario Sunshine Mario Kart Double Dash!! Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance And even aside from both GameCube and GBA only having one soundtrack each, Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks, Yoshi’s Story, Super Mario World and Fire Emblem Genealogy of the Holy War are others that should also be added in the near future.Version: 1.0.3

Mario galaxy 2Pls add smg2 to the music library the songs are really good and credit the artists.Version: 1.0.2

Nin chan! Plz update Fire Emblems and Astral Chain and Bayonetta!Thank you\\\\٩( 'ω' )و ////.Version: 1.0.3

Nvm found itMetallic mario is here. love you nintendo.Version: 1.0.3

Off to a rough startThe app takes a long time to respond to taps. There's no credits. The library is tiny. But what's there is lovely..Version: 1.0.3

Super Metroid OSTWhere is the Super Metroid OST?.Version: 1.0.2

This Could Be So Much BetterSeeing Metroid Prime soundtracks at my fingertips wherever I wanted them, whenever I wanted them… what a dream. If only it weren’t too good to be true, because for some reason ALL the tracks that should be extendable (Crashed Ship, Phendrana Drifts, and many more), don’t support it, and the only ones that do are the jarring boss battle tracks, that I don’t want to have to listen to longer than it takes to actually beat the boss. Why would you offer such a feature to users when it can’t be fully utilized? I hope this gets rectified in the future.Version: 1.0.2

Waiting for 3d world…It’s pretty good but im waiting for 3d world and bowsers fury to be added..Version: 1.0.2

Needs big improvementsThe app's okay so far, but the fact that there's barely any music on it yet, they only add one soundtrack a week, and they don't even credit the composers are all pretty big cons.Version: 1.0.2

EpicYall should add the rest of splatoon 3 music also splatoon 1 and 2 music and octo expansion and side order music :D (Plsss add nasty majesty 🙏🙏).Version: 1.0.2

Almost nails it…I love so many of the features of this app, but it’s missing CarPlay and is sometimes buggy over Bluetooth and AirPlay..Version: 1.0.2

Add mario 3d worldPls.Version: 1.0.2

Thank youAs someone who has severe anxiety, Nintendo has always been a peaceful part of my childhood that i could retreat to. I often listen to nintendo music to work and relax to soothe my anxiety, however the actual game composures are not available on any streaming platform except youtube. Youtube is fine until I get interrupted and startled by ads every 15 min or I get distracted looking for a youtube playlist video and go down an internet rabbit hole instead. This app is everything I needed to work peacefully thank you so so much.Version: 1.0.2

It’s alright I guessI like the app but: -There’s still some bugs -It’s missing a lot of games, the app was released too early -I hate that some of the songs you can’t play an extended version (for example “Now or Never” from Splatoon 3) -Also about Splatoon I would like it if there were the different versions of the story mode songs (for example “Octoling Rendezvous” when your character is spotted/the final checkpoint version of “Octoling Rendezvous”).Version: 1.0.2

In dire need of improvementThis is what i’ve been waiting for nintendo!! however, because it’s nintendo, it comes with its fair share of flaws… the extending of music is what makes me actually want to download this app over keeping to just listening to playlists on youtube. that was an excellent choice i just hope in the future you can make it for even longer choices, at least 2 hours. if anyone needs a sleep timer, use the clock app but set the timer sound to “stop playing”. other apps like spotify don’t have sleep timers (for their music) and youtube only added one recently (but it’s still bad), so that’s what people use instead. i think a free option for this app is necessary. at the very least, make it so that you don’t have to use nintendo online subscription for games you already have (ie. i own botw so i can listen to botw music but i don’t own mario wonder so i can’t listen to that ost). if im paying 80$ to listen to your music in a video game then at the very least it should be available for free on this app. i am glad nintendo uses the nintendo online subscription as i was worried it was going to be an entirely different subscription, but there should be an option for free, especially if you’re trying to make this the actual alternative to actual free websites like spotify and youtube. the ui is quite horrendous. scrolling isn’t all that fluid and when i press a button it has a bit of a lag. also why when i click on a game i have to click on it again to see the specific songs? shouldn’t it just be one click? it would make sense if it was a “legend of zelda series” and then i click on botw or ocarina of time, but it’s silly that i have to click twice. why aren’t composers listed? even in the “track information” section there is nothing there, which is actually crazy because there is literally no useful information there. and finally, the selection is HORRENDOUS. nintendo, you should’ve at the very least gotten all of your nintendo switch games and nintendo online retro games on here. why can i only listen to ocarina of time but not majora’s mask? why is scarlet and violet in here but not sword and shield, bdsp, arceus, let’s go??? i was expecting a small selection for ds games but why is the selection so tiny for switch games??? the selection itself and the fact it sounds like you aren’t gonna update this very often and with very small amounts kind of makes this app useless. i understand some of it might be licensing issues for the older games but i don’t understand what’s preventing you from even putting recent releases on here like echoes of wisdom. and the fact that big series like xenobalde and fire emblem don’t get ANY representation is quite silly. the selection is the main reason to put up this app so why is it so small? would’ve rather you waited to put this up until switch 2 and slowly update with switch 2 games and access to older games as you get them rather than this horrendous selection… that doesn’t make any sense. i love nintendogs but you’re really gonna have that in there over your other ds games? or the fact that you only put in the japanese only tomodachi life game but nothing from the 3ds one that your western audience actually had access to??? anyway, this is a great idea and i really don’t mind it over the songs being put on other streaming platforms especially since i heard they don’t pay the artists that well, but this was severely underbaked and not that worth it. making it free for those who have the game on their system would make it leagues better and actually worthwhile for those who don’t want an online subscription, since they already gave you their money. please give yourself time nintendo, nobody’s rushing you but yourself..Version: 1.0.2

Needs Some More MusicNintendo, please add more game soundtracks… I have some requests, mainly all three mainline Xenoblade Chronicles games… I have always loved Nintendo music, and want somewhere I can easily listen to it, all because it’s so good. So please, Nintendo. Also, this is not a complaint. I merely desire more, but am amazed that there even is a music app in the first place. So good on you, Nintendo, for making this. Thank you..Version: 1.0.1

Where’s the music?Nintendo has developed hundreds of video games over 40+ years. And (as of writing this) there are only 26 albums on the app. And two are the NES and Famicom versions of the same game. Not impressive. I would love for this to be the one-stop-all Nintendo music app. Maybe one day it will be. But, right now, it just reminds me of the songs I want to hear before I skip over to YouTube to actually find them..Version: 1.0.2

Works very well, but one game soundtrack per weekThis was a godsend. It's a great app that we can play Nintendo game's soundtrack with no frills and I love the possibility to extend the soundtrack. Everything works well, but come on. One game's soundtrack per week? That's so little. They should come out 3-5 game's soundtrack per week..Version: 1.0.1

A good first stepI was quite surprised by this app suddenly popping up. I’m happy it exists just because i can listen to the original versions of the Breath Of The Wild OST and Aquatic Ambience. The time extension feature is awesome, But it would be even better if we could apply the extension for all tracks in a playlist with one click. It would also be cool to be able to extend to 10, 20 and 45 minutes. Also why is the Tears Of The Kingdom OST not here?!.Version: 1.0.1

Problems with musicMost people waited so long to finally have something like this, however there isn’ enough music for older consoles like N64 or Wii. And I don’t know if this is just me but when it got updated, I couldn’t open it no matter what I did. When I did try, I wasted 34% of my battery and it did nothing..Version: 1.0.1

Need mores titles games song !I like very much this app .I hope mores song can be add the mod extension to 60 minutes.I really happy they got Zelda ,Pokemon ,Mario’s and Pikmin.I hope to see mores Zelda ,Pokemon,Mario’s and Pikmin .I like they add category for each section of game like the background of some areas when you explore the games .Maybe add mores sleep music to will be great .I am to much happy.I can wait to see mores epic updates to Nintendo music keep the good work ..Version: 1.0.1

Not enough music yetI've been waiting for an official nintendo music streaming platform for years. suffice to say im very happy! however, theres not many musical options at the moment, so i hope that will change soon!.Version: 1.0.1

Great but is missing alot of musicI love splatoon and was excited to listen to the songs but it doesn’t even have all the songs on the in game jukebox which makes no sense! how do you have the gacha machine jingle but dont have a ton of the actual songs in game!.Version: 1.0.1

More musicI like it Nintendo but it needs more music(Metroid dread, more yoshi).Version: 1.0.1

We need more game soundtracks!Good app but I wish there were more game soundtracks on the app like Pokemon Sword and Shield. And I wish there were more game soundtracks that aren't just from Nintendo Switch like Super Mario 3D World and more Pokemon and Mario games..Version: 1.0.1

Works great but a suggestion…The app is really good and I use it a lot but it would be great if it was more compatible with Apple CarPlay!.Version: 1.0.1

Song timeout + no gamesSongs will timeout and freeze for no reason + very low amount of games :(.Version: 1.0.1

Thank you Nintendo!I have been waiting for official Nintendo game music for ages, thank you for creating this app. Looking forward to hours and hours of Animal Crossing and Zelda music sessions..Version: 1.0.1
