A really good start!

Using MBTA’s system, this app is by far the most accurate at displaying things like Train times (especially for underground stops that most apps get inaccurate). Bus tracking is very accurate as well. This could be me daily driver if it didn’t have random issues that make it impossible to load and with the expansion of more features like route suggestions and travel. With some work this could be the best go-to mass transit app but until then I’ll have to keep switching between this and Transit App. Thank you for trying to seriously make an app for this though because it was missing in the mbta app lineup.

Great start to the basic MBTA needs

Still has a lot of work to do to catch up to Transit and other apps, but if you just want your favorite stop’s next bus/train, or want to compare different transit options, it is pretty solid. Some stuff it is missing: directions, trips very far in future (next day). Now that Transit went to their Freemium model and nerfed several great features, this makes up for some of what is lost. For example, being able to move around the map and see time of arrival for multiple stops.

It’s 2024 people wake up

Why can’t we buy tickets online. I’m sick of bus drivers being mean to me because I’m a young working individual that likes to not carry cash. this is a step in the right direction but feels like a farce of an app. travel and take time to use the New Jersey and New York transit. I would never ever have any of the problems commuting there I do here. Boston keeps its people stupid and depressed. I wish you all well.

Reliable

The most important aspect for me about this app is its reliability in terms of the information it provides. The real-time information feels (just my observation) more accurate than any other services I’ve used. I hope this create a momentum that the MBTA make consistent improvements in connecting the public transit data (and make them more available in the physical vehicle) to this app

Recommendation for future updates

When you update the app, I would like just one thing, it is recommended to make the live follow give notifications to the user about delays, ETA, etc even when the app is closed! Still overall, this is a great outfit for those who like scheduling things and being right on time! Honestly, I wanna say good job!

I wish we could pay through the app, it's 2024 wake up

I wish we could either pay or buy an online Charlie card, it's annoying to have a Charlie card going onto a bus that doesn't have a machine that creates them.

Phenomenal

I love the app. It has a beautiful design, easy to use, great user interface. The only thing I would recommend is when in times of the holidays, please have an alert or message indicating service schedule changes. That way it sets appropriate expectations for all riders of the T. Nonetheless, great job!

Emla23Version: 1.1.1
Very helpful for Boston transit!

As the MBTA creaks back to life, I love seeing a project like this: quick, easy visualization of what transit is available nearby and how long head times are for the next train or bus. If they somehow integrated with BlueBikes, too, it would be completely one-stop, but as it stands a great addition for Boston residents and visitors.

Useful real-time info

Just got into Boston and this was really useful to navigate subway and bus options all in one. I live in DC and have to use multiple semi-functional apps to get bus and metro info, so always use CityMapper instead. The user interface is clean and intuitive, too. Get your act together, WMATA.

First MBTA app review!

I was so excited to see that the MBTA finally has an app - I’ve been waiting for this! Haven’t used it that much yet, but the interface seems nice so far. I love that you can see all your closest transit options and times clearly when you open the app.

So Helpful

I’ve been using the app for the past week and it has been incredibly useful. I love being able to know when my train will arrive and track where it is. I’ve been wishing for an app like this forever.

MrHDpantsVersion: 1.1.1
Add depart point and arrive point

Great app overall, but unfortunately, it’s not possible to add both a departure point and an arrival point. This makes planning routes difficult. Hopefully, this feature can be added in a future update

Diall25@Version: 1.2.6
Good, but shows “predictions unavailable” too often

Good when it works, but the Green Line still frequently says “predictions unavailable” without a clear cause, which renders it useless when that’s the case

Aaron AyalaVersion: 2.0.4
A very good app, but one flaw.

It is very good, but it won’t load without internet.

Qiaoyun LiVersion: 2.0.4
Finally!

Finally I am able to know where my bus is, I love this reliable real life tracker, seeing transit stops on a live map is also a cool feature for trip planning

TheteacherrrrrrrrrVersion: 1.1.1
Thank you, MBTA!

Very helpful and reliable. And you don’t have to pay for a premium subscription to view all transit options (unlike the other transit app).

HenriquelemosbVersion: 1.1.5
Excellent

No frills info for bus and subway timing. Easy to use and more accurate than other options. (Been beta testing for weeks)

Okin15Version: 1.1.1
Accurate bus and train times

Minute accurate bus and train times! Please continue to support this app so more people can use public transit

WengtingtonVersion: 1.1.5
Surprisingly great app!

Honestly even better than the third-party apps I was using. Wasn’t expecting that from the T!

MayorushVersion: 1.2.2
So far, so good…

I am glad to see an MBTA app from MBTA. I am currently testing it and so far, it’s been good. The ‘Nearby’ view is useful, but it will also be useful if I can have an option to view only the bus stops or stations that I starred as favorites. Update: A most recent update to the app has added the option to view my favorited stops! This is great!

Bamboo3Version: 2.0.0
Love public transit

Thank you MBTA for releasing this official app! And thank you for having good data privacy policies for the app.

Renee.CGVersion: 2.1.0
One more thing

Please add trip planner into the app. Great app otherwise!

MBTA Go — Official Negative Reviews and Ratings

App.

This app was unhelpful the whole reason I got it was to see when to leave my house to get to the train with minimal waiting time. But the search is almost impossible to see when it will get to a certain station. Even when you do the predictions for when my train will come are ALWAYS unavailable/ not informative. This app is not clear or helpful making traveling SOO much more difficult when it should make it easier. Please fix this app so need it for travel and stuff.

SydTheBestieVersion: 2.0.14
Long time T rider

The app is ok as an MVP but the fact that I can only see my nearest station or can’t track a specific train really limits how useful this is. If a train is late (which is really value add here) and the estimated departure time passes then I can’t track the late train. I don’t need to track on time trains only delayed ones. This seems like a half built app

Tonyshoes6969Version: 2.0.7
Not useful

This app is not useful for tracking late commuter rail trains. As soon as the scheduled departure time is passed on a late train, it disappears from the app. You can’t track late trains, there is no forum for live updates, and the app design adds no value over proximiT. Essentially solves none of the clearest issues with the commuter rail - lack of information and transparency once anything goes wrong.

CommuTerdreadVersion: 2.0.6
Used to be Great. Now Shows Ghost Trips

This app used to be great. The gold standard. Better than the rest. Now? Now it shows ghost trips (scheduled but skipped or delayed trips with no tracked vehicle so it shows a bus arriving when there isn’t). The MBTA was doing so well to weed out this noise. Now they put it back making this app horribly unreliable.

LOLGEVOSVersion: 2.1.1
Service is a joke

It is understandable that buses may run behind schedule. But for a bus to never show up, despite the app counting down its arrival time, is poor service. When that happens multiple times, too, despite filed complaints, it pictures an embarrassing state for the MBTA service.

NewusergmVersion: 1.2.1
Bad data

App is telling me the last train in is at 8:27am and the MBTA website shows many more trains running. If I can't trust the train schedule from this app, what's the point?

Reviewer11235813Version: 2.0.14
Inaccurate Tracking and Updates

App is often wrong about delays and timelines, I wouldn't trust this as an accurate indicator of where your train is.

Baileym412Version: 2.0.14
Pointless

What’s the point of this app if you can’t track the train from south station when it’s “not assigned” that’s a lie. If airlines can do it, trains can do it.

CarafineVersion: 2.0.13
Bad

This app constantly lies, it lies more than it tells the truth, I’ve had tens if not hundreds of instances of busses not existing even though it says on the app. Terrible app

JhgpoeojejVersion: 2.0.14
Wrong data

Said a train was 20 min away when it was actually 10 min away

Why after 1 decade plus. It’s a necessity to find a more reliable option.

But when at Watertown station. Even by the installed station. Totally false information. You can never trust your phone. Because you will be always be getting screwed. I thought I saw on the MBTA go Live. Something new? Absolutely not. I A friend had her app. That actually shows where the bus is. But now I need to find another app. Because going with the original app. You can’t trust.

Nothing about the commuter rail
