PerfectionIt's basically just premium Subway Surfers, everything you love about Subway Surfers but dialed in. There's a sizable selection of characters to choose from, but it's not overwhelming (I also adore the art style change, the characters are so much more expressive, they have so much more personality, it's very sleek and sharp) I like that the location is the same too, it's not constantly changing, it's consistent, I like that, and I love all the new things added to the gameplay, like floorboards you can smash or train cars you can bounce on, or changes to the environment (like the floor being removed or train cars being placed) it keeps you on your toes. The graphics are really the only thing I have a problem with because, they're too high quality, they're absolutely stunning, but because they're so high quality, it's too much for my phone to handle and it very quickly overheats when I play for longer than 5 minutes, even when I lower the graphics quality to the lowest setting, all that does is slightly pixelate everything and screw up the frame rate, which is kind of a problem when you have a game that requires accuracy and quick timing. But that complaint aside, I adore this version of Subway Surfers (I really wanna unlock Spike, Spike is my favorite and I'm in love with his redesign 🎸) keep up the good work! (Edit, I got Spike 😁 I fried my phone battery, bought the Surfer's Pass and spent hours grinding on the trials and it was worth it 🤘🏻).Beep Beep, I'm a sheep.Version: 2.1.1

OK. I thought this was another afterthought game…. Was I wrong?This game is surprisingly amazing. They did so well at making it look amazing and even the details and sound effects just sound so good. I love clicking on some travel missions just because of the sound effect it makes it’s so good. That might just be me idk. And also the beginning screen and animation of being chased is very good. Love the idea of the hoverboards. Even tho you can’t save up like 100’s of boards if you wanted to which was cool and I thought was a downside at first but than you realize that because of the energy meter in this game it becomes like real subway surfers where almost half of the time your actually subway surfing. Would love to see some cool types of boards like the og one but overall very amazing game well done. And PS don’t worry I’m not a paid reviewer I know some games be doing that these days. The game is fine but seasons need work.It’s basically just the original subway surfers but with more to do. Kinda. The designs look nicer and higher quality and I would love to collect them all..but I cant with this season mechanic. Having to pay almost $10 per month for a new character and a skin (i know there are a lot of other rewards I’ll get to that) is pretty over the top. Yeah you guys want money and all that but a FULL character that (to my knowledge) you can’t get anywhere else is a bit much, but I have solutions for this! You can make an option to buy the pass with keys and just make some of the rewards worse so free to play people can get the character and skin, you can do like how it was in the original game and have the character and skin for free towards the end of the pass and keep the best rewards paylocked (minus the skins), or hell you could at least make the character the final reward and have the skin be the battle pass reward. Theres 3 perfectly fine options right there. If something is changed about seasons to make them more free to play friendly than 5 stars but other than that it’ll remain at 4. Theres pretty much no other reason to complete the pass besides the hoverboard at the end if you dont pay those $10..Yippee!! :DVersion: 2.0.3

Interesting game but…I’ve been playing Subway Surfers for over 10 years and decided to try this game out. I like it and it’s definitely something new while keeping the charm alive from the old game, but, my only few frustrations are whenever your characters loses in a certain spot. Let’s say you die by accidentally running into a train (or from water), you use revival sodas or use an ad to respawn. Sometimes, the game will respawn you in the spot before you died and you can make sure to not repeat that mistake. Other times, the game will spawn you in the spot where you died, and then proceed to not give you enough time to recover and dodge. Therefore, I’ve either watched an ad or used up my revival sodas for no reason and I have to completely start my run over again (and it’s not like those sodas are easy to get). If it’s a way to get me to buy more sodas or no ads or any other stuff, it’s not working. If it’s a genuine glitch, then I ask that you guys fix this glitch. It’s no fun to be on a run, and accidentally lose, and use my sodas or watch an ad just to not be able to continue because the game makes me restart from where I died unlike in the old game, the whole area is cleared and I can start anew..JeonskissesVersion: 2.3.0

Freshest sequel I’ve ever played🎉To summarize, subway surfers city is like a fresh modern visual and audio revamp while retaining the core fundamentals of what made the game classic and fun since back in the day, while adding new locations and mechanics like board tokens, the new bubble power, slamming down for coin piles or bouncing across terrain when presented and a better revive mechanic. The surfers having different powers that makes picking them feel more impactful to curate to your style of gameplay. And it genuinely feels like they put their all into this game which is rare to say in this day and age with 90$ Nintendo slop, Im a harsh critic but even I must admit this game to me stands firm at a 9.8 out of 10, to its stunning visuals to the better quality of control’s and the more complex terrain design while blending in OG terrain generation which effectively rewarding players for having ball knowledge and skill. 5 starsThis game is AMAZING. The design is beautiful and the game is very fun. I do have a suggestion though. I still play subway surfers and I like being able to unlock characters by doing missions and events. In subway surfers city there are rainbow square coins you can use to get several characters. This way is fun but it would be more fun if it had temporary events like the floor is lava event in subway surfers where you could unlock bunny Betty. I also think you should add event coins to buy new characters like ballerina tricky for a temporary amount of time. Also, when I play the game and I change my character the game kicks me out then I have to go back into the game. I don’t think there is something wrong with my iPad because when I play other games like subway surfers it doesn’t glitch or kick me out. The game also freezes for a second and that messes me up. Genuinely good!I had low expectations honestly.. however, this game serves as an enhancement to the original. The graphics are modern, vibrant, and easy on the eye like many reviews have said. I love the reimagined music too! My issue with Subway Surfers was the lack of replayability. Sure, it is fun, but you will get bored within an hour of your first time playing and have no reason to continue. Every reward required an excruciating amount of playtime to grind to unlock. In City, you will not only have fun playing this game again, actually be able to unlock stuff, but it actually feels challenging for once. There are past features I would like such as the jetpack, word collecting, the double coins addon, etc. I will give this game to see how it will improve upon release to give a proper review. Fun but i’m not paying for ticketsI love the new game! the graphics are fun and i like the concept of each surfer having their own abilities and upgrades. however the ticket system is ridiculous. you start with 20 free tickets but trials and the map gamemode cost 1 to play. its just a way to get you to spend keys and thus money, and the fact that it takes an hour to replenish 1 free ticket is crazy. you can watch up to 3 ads getting 1 ticket per ad, which terrible ROI. i foresee this system being used to squeeze money out of players during events to get some kind of limited prize locked behind trials that cost a ticket per run. its unfortunate because the trials and the map gamemode are fun. beyond my hatred for a system like that, i enjoy unlocking new districts and having shorter mission-style runs beyond the endless game mode. i like getting rewarded for setting high scores with each character, and i love some of the new mechanics and additions like surfing on water, high-fiving other surfers, and the differences in districts. but get rid of the stupid ticket system PLEASE..Vict4ia_millzVersion: 2.0.3

Fun and worth playingI really enjoy this game! It takes everything from subway surfers and makes it even better. I like the idea of replacing the original boots and switching it out with bubble gum and adding new maps u can explore and unlock instead of running in the same city endlessly without changes. The animations are sick 😎 and the visuals and designs are eye catching to modern audiences and enhances the gameplay. Maybe an additional feature would be voicing for all the characters, and maybe in the future some maps could have more than three lanes to make the game more chaotic and challenging, and just to change things up a bit. But aside from that I am definitely enjoying the improved mechanics and visuals and is way better than the original game in my opinion. Additionally, classic skins would be great like yutani’s original alien suit, or fresh’s original design. Micro transactionsI used to play the old one a ton when I was younger. I was really excited for this one. My first impressions are it is definitely fun but there’s a lot of “watch this ad to get…” or a special for $1.99 to get a ridiculous amount of tokens and what not to upgrade. I’m not opposed to micro transactions at all. When those transactions heavily change the speed of your progression and alter your scores, I have a problem. The way the micro transactions are done is honestly really predatory and seem like they’re trying to milk every penny. Unfortunately it is not just this game though. All major game industries are completely focused on their greed and not the consumers anymore. Indy developers are dominating the gaming industry because of that. Peak game and perfect successorThis game is the perfect successor to the OG subway, and the new mechanics like the bubble gum and the underground caches. The game adds better graphics as well. And the new city tour and daily and weekly challenges keep the game fresh. The battle pass is a great deal, and this game is not shoving as nearly ads down your throat as the original (before I bought the pass). The secret stars are a great way to reward players for taking risks, I could play this for hours and not geñt bored. It’s clear that you put time and effort into this game so it’s good instead of doing it for the money. This is one of the things I appreciate the most especially in the current mobile game landscape with greedy companies trying to make a quick buck like supercell or pumping out low effort trash like voodoo. PotentialThis game has a lot of potential to not only surpass the OG game, but could also be one of the mobile top games. I’ve been seeing the reviews, all of them are 5 stars-4 stars. Vary good so far!This game is amazing but I feel like there needs to be a couple of changes too it’s very good but it’s very easy to accidentally use your skateboard when you don’t really need to and double tapping is much more easier and I also recommend it. The skateboard coins are fine. They’re very cool. Subway Surfers City ReviewThis is one of the best versions of Subway Surfers! I love the art style and all the characters. It’s easier to get some of the OG Subway characters (like Miss Maia, and Yutani). Only thing is, I wish we had some of the OG things in this game too. Like double tapping to get a hoverboard. I think this new one and getting board charges is cool, but I wish the board would drain so fast. Same with the power-ups. I like how the Super Stars stay with us until our run is over, but the other power-up drain too fast. A good solution would be to have a level up section for the power ups, just like in OG Subway. Ads feel like a punishment for playing rather than an incentive. DisappointingI’ve been playing the original subway surfers for over ten years now, to the point where I found it worth it to buy off the ads. A reasonable price, and it made it so I could play lots of runs back to back to back without stopping. When I did watch ads, it was voluntary because watching them would double your rewards or revive you. In Subway Surfers City, however, you can beat a level and be rewarded with an ad. If you die in classic mode, you’re given the option to watch an ad to revive, but even if you refuse to, you have to watch one ANYWAY! I end up refreshing the app every time to get around it because I hate being forced to watch ads without meaningful incentive. I’m really enjoying it so far!This game is a great sequel to the original. Love the new gimmicks added and hope we see more gimmicks in the future revolving around new items and level design. Player RecommendationsThis is a great game! I have been enjoying it since the day it came out and I can say im addicted to playing everyday. I wish there was more rewards for going on long runs. Maybe 50 coin super jumps thrown in every now and then to make it feel rewarding for the player and give a brief 5 second break. Or even continue secret stars throughout gameplay but with power up’s instead. Even movement adds like straight diagonal movement to get all the coins. Could be a fun trial if one of the challenges was to get 150 coins but to get it you would need to have precise movement to achieve goal. Small things like this would be very beneficial for the longevity of players who like a bit of a challenge and like “mastering” games. BEST MAJOR UPDATE EVER.Honestly, Sybo has really done it. They fully upgraded the classic Subway Surfers into a fully remastered and immersive experience! 1. A good sequel, could use some work.For a sequel to the most downloaded mobile game, it’s actually really fun and nice to play. The graphics are nice and it’s feels fresh and runs great for day 1 release. They do try and shove a good bit of micro-transactions at you, that is expected in a free game. They have to make their money somehow. The random ads every once in a while while playing kinda erks my nerves and that’s why it’s a 4, I don’t mind ads (especially when given the choice to watch or not) but when they pop up at random it’s gets annoying and breaks the flow of the game sometimes. The UI could use some work, gets confusing at times, but I’ve gotten used to it pretty quick to it’s not a big problem IMO. Faithful & FunA lot of people are saying this is very nostalgic, and understandably so, the overall improved graphics, fun characters, trials, and small animations are amazing! It’s simple, yet very well thought out with new mechanics. I noticed that the music and sound design when changing areas is so nicely designed and done. Like melted butter. The variations are distinct and not just copying and pasting the original iconic theme, which is appreciated and I can’t praise enough. The only tiny thing I’ve noticed when playing is that rarely, and idk if it’s only me, when running into an underground subway transition area, the textures of the top of the subway trains glitch out for maybe a frame or two before back to normal. Nothing major occurs when it happens, I just thought to let y’all know just in case! Everyone on the Subway Surfers team should be so proud of themselves, and I love the art direction y’all went with, it’s been so nice to have a simple and fun game to play with. Overall really enjoying this!I am enjoying Subway Surfers City especially because of all the nostalgia it’s bringing me! I remember playing Subway Surfers all the time as a kid and loving the fast paced, colorful, stimulating game with cool characters and music and I’m glad to say this is bringing back those feelings. Holy Battery Drain!This is a pretty good next level version of Subway Surfers. There are so many different types of coins, tokens, fragments, shards, etc. to collect for different purposes that it’s going to take a while to figure out what’s what, since there are no clear descriptions of the many new game elements. There’s also a few bugs and lags here and there, but it’s a new release. These issues should get sorted out in future updates. But the biggest negative that I’ve noticed is that this game drains battery life faster than any game I’ve ever played. Half an hour of gameplay ran my battery down almost 50%. After an hour of playing I needed to recharge my nearly empty battery. This issue is a big problem and it needs to be fixed soon or it could be a deal breaker..DemoRazeVersion: 2.0.3

Actually Feels Like A Sequel.When I initially saw the game, it just looked like a Subway Surfers remaster, just Subway Surfers with improved graphics. But once you actually hop into the game, you’ll see it’s actually completely different. New obstacles, mechanics like tagging people to add them to your team mid game, new characters, and really just feels like an overall improvement on the original classic. Great game, but Not enough to grind for.Gameplay this game beats the original by a long shot. Each character has their unique abilities and same with the boards, but there’s one downside. Not enough characters and not enough stage changes. I was expecting with the new update with Georgie to get more characters that you can only get via the character credits to keep you playing and grinding to get those characters. The other subject that shocked me was level fifty being the max level to achieve. I get this game is still very new, but I would’ve expected for the max level to go to at least one hundred or one fifty. Developer please add thisThis is a good game, but it will be even more than five stars if you would add this. You should add Jetpack back and with the jet pack, you can go off track and when it runs out of fuel you should be able to jump from building to building and it is a 20% chance that the Jetpack flies even higher up into the clouds. Up in the clouds, you can jump on airplanes and jets and jump on the clouds. And there is a small chance that a rocket ship will fly up into the sky and if you go onto it then it takes you into space and you can jump on space, shuttles, and satellites. Great for those getting bored with classicThe developers did a really good job balancing adding enough to the game to make it interesting again with not making it too different. The gameplay is pretty much the same, but there are many new features that add complexity and challenge. My favorite part is the graphics of the backgrounds, which are more detailed and prettier than the original. My two gripes are I don’t love the look of the characters (subjective, but somehow more AI-like and less cool IMO); and the rewards are kind of weird - I have millions of seemingly useless tokens, and not enough of the things I want like coins and event tickets. Genuinely insaneI don’t know how they did it. This game is so gorgeous that I just sat at the title screen for 3 minutes when I first booted the app, and yet after playing for an hour my ancient phone STILL isn’t running hot. THIS is how you do optimization. The gameplay is so much fun too, it takes the concept of subway surfers and ramps things up with platforming challenges in the sky, tons of interactive elements that use the stomp, and extremely responsive controls. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to go back to the first game, this one is a huge improvement in every way. I think the game could use back story to link both of the subway surfers games together or make a thing at the beginning of the game for a little recap or something to interest the player, also I think they need to add some old characters in the game like that guy with the mask in the suit. Great game, not enough ticketsThis is a great game to play, I now play both this (for more stimulating gameplay) and the regular subway surfers (for something more relaxing while I watch TV). I love the animation and the slam jumps are super satisfying, awesome variety of settings. My one caveat is that when I first downloaded the game there were 20 tickets available for events which was great because I prefer the events over the regular gameplay + it keeps me entertained while I’m waiting to level up the characters and unlock new high score levels. Then it was reduced to 5 tickets available and still takes 1 hour to recharge a ticket. Very entertainingThis is a great extension of the first game. I really like the dailies and the challenges, I find myself playing during downtime throughout the day to get all the challenges complete for the day. The board system will take some time to rack up boards but it does give more to work for. Maybe an event in the future for spendable board tokens? I have been having an audio glitch especially after watching an advertisement to continue a run, the audio cuts out and sometimes comes back for a few seconds to go away again. Superior to the Original, but with some negativesOverall from my personal experience when playing this for the first hour, I can safely say it is superior gameplay wise and variety to the first game tenfold. But the monetary aspect is a little expensive, 10 dollars for seasonal passes AND for bonus rewards, it’s kind of frustrating, it would be a better bang for your buck if the bonus rewards were decreased in value from the $9 to only $2, plus the more abundant ads than the first game. There are a few moments of stuttering but doesn’t affect gameplay at all and happens rarely but it’s worth checking out that bug. More tricksI’m loving the game. I have been pretty addicted to just mindlessly trying to improve my run. I do want to ask can there possibly be more tricks with the hoverboard I love when they jump and do a trick it’d be cool if each one had like a signature board trick to vary it up or something like that. Amazing upgradeI used to be a huge fan of subway surfers when I was younger but kinda fell out in middle school, but when I heard about this release I was curious again. Cool but…Hi i hope the developers of the game does read. I really love subway surfer (original) there’s nothing that can be upgrade but this one there’s so much to be upgraded. First of all the surf the mechanics are very nice as we don’t stack them and there’s a batterie that we can obtain during the course or piece of them (blue thing). I feel like it could be upgrade as the surf longevity is too fast it last only 30-45sec. Progression system should be improvedThis review comes from a player who has bought a season pass and the starter pack. Firstly, here’s the current state of my acc: After playing a lot, i now have 49 keys and 67k coins. I’m only missing 1 board and 3 surfers. All of my boards are lvl4 or lower. Only one surfer is lvl8 and all the others are around lvl4 (i got one lvl8 bc I bought the season pass which gives me 1500 surfer tokens for that one surfer). Secondly, here’s why the progression system rn needs to be improved asap: From my account, you can see that i have a huge overflow of gold and a lack of keys. Why’s that? It’s cuz the super box which costs 50 keys is almost the only way to get tokens. There’s a road for each surfer but that only gives maximum 176 surfer tokens when you reach 100k points with that one surfers. Keep in mind that reaching 100k points takes a lvl5 or above surfer (or else it’ll take a VERY LONG time). For perspective, to upgrade from lvl8 to 9, it already takes 800 tokens(15lvls in total). So the 176 tokens from the road can literally be ignored. That means that you have no good sources for getting tokens. And on the other hand, you need a lot of tokens to use that gold that you can get tons of just by playing. In a game, if you’re VERY LUCKY, you can get 10 keys. Which converts to maximum 16 surfer OR board tokens. But in the mean time, you can get about 2.5k coins from that run. 2.5k coins is enough to upgrade a surfer from lvl4 to 5 which takes 140 tokens. You can see how unbalanced it is. Thirdly, i want to say how this could be improved: The main problem here is the lack of ways of getting tokens. Just make the tokens or chests buyable with coins and it’ll be solved. Or the game can give other usages for coins to make them more balanced. So that the players won’t feel like coins are useless and there’s no way to progress in the game..Honest review___Version: 1.13.2

Subway Surfers City Negative Reviews

The game is great, howeverI love the game. It’s challenging at times but fun enough to make you want to keep playing. It’s mix between than the original subway surfers. I do wish we could continue to unlock new cities maybe every other level to keep it interesting instead of a cap. But my problem is for the past few weeks every time I login for the first play of the day, they have reduced my tickets. The normal amount is 20 and everyday mine says 10/5. The chat support on the game hasn’t responded which leads me to believe there’s no one to talk to when you have issues that the standard faqs section can’t help with. UPDATE*** After getting a response from chat support that is no longer available in the game to ask follow up questions, I was informed they have reduced the tickets from 20 down to 5. That just ruined the game for me so I’m lowering my rating to one star and have since deleted the game. It’s no longer enjoyable because there’s too many trails for them to only give 5 tickets. This was a move to get people to watch more ads and pay for tickets. Shame because this was a brand new game and it was fun while it lasted. The shine fades quickGame is highly expanded and faster than the classic, but the eyes, edges, and compression on the loading screen give away how the rest of the game will be. Non-train obstacles aren’t disappearing after using ads or soda tabs, the menus are HIGHLY disruptive to gameplay flow, I didn’t even enjoy the high score outfit reward since a single 550,000 point run can drag on for soooo long, and the “World” aspect is simply lacking. I think the only way to solve the last 3 is to get rid of the menus for the hand-made sprint levels, and instead make them diverging challenge paths that we can turn onto in the traditional endless mode. It would also help if the different cities had more differences than just the looks and how you get to the top of the map, such as more lanes for more urban areas, sticky obstacles that slow down lane changes, or maybe even sections that force you to have a board saved to lean into that surfing aspect and avoid ships instead of trains..CosmicSpaceVersion: 2.2.1

A lot of adsI still play the older Subway Surfers, and I think I still will. I love the graphics of the new game, and like that there’s levels now and new areas like the docks to explore, and that could even lead to a story mode eventually but that’s just me being hopeful. The two things I would complain about is how many times you have to keep leveling up the characters, which wouldn’t be a problem if I didn’t get ads at the end of every run. In the original, ads would only pop up if you clicked on them, like to double your coins or for a revive. But here they pop up constantly, and with the level runs, you only play for like a minute or two and then followed up immediately by a minute of ads. Good game but a couple flawsOverall I enjoy the game and think it is done relatively well, it has good mechanics and decent progression. It does seem like they want you to constantly buy stuff but honestly the free to play is good enough where you aren’t forced too. My one main critique is that ‼️WHY ARE THERE SO MANY ADS‼️. Too many ads, deceptive monetization and bland character artTLDR; This game appears polished but is solely a psychological cash grab designed to slowly ramp up so apple reviewers don’t notice during the first 15 minutes, and you feel invested by the time you realize. This game is a masterclass in psychological manipulation. You begin with the tutorial, you learn the mechanics, you level up, and now you are invested. You learn the loop of running for coins and high score rewards. Then upgrade your characters and board for a higher multiplier. Thats awesome, sounds great right? Wrong this game is designed to extract money. The art style is garbage the characters are all made off the same template with stretched legs and chubby cheeks. The audio track will endlessly loop, the same as casino music and all the upgrade and coin sounds are purposely poignantly. This puts you in the winning dopamine loop just like a casino. Then it slowly worsens. From levels 1-5 you unlock a few tabs. Now you notice rewards for ads and purchases. But as you go along, you unlock more tabs, more “battle passes” for money, more extra rewards passes. After lvl 10, the shop tab unlocks, and now you have pages of purchases and bundles, that appear immediately every launch. Now those annoying spontaneous ads will appear during gameplay. Also, the missions tab with the gas system is an insult to injury. This whole “polished game” to “cash grab” is a 1 hour slow burn.
